Given the ferocious daily attacks on President Trump and his administration by Democrats and the opposition media it is of no small wonder that the job of FBI Director is not enticing to many.
At last count, four prospective replacements for fired James Comey have decided that they don’t want the job nor the burden of dealing with demands from anti-Trump forces for a renewed focus on the ginned-up accusations that the president is a Kremlin puppet.
Following in the footsteps of James “Mr. Clean” Comey is going to be nearly impossible now that the media has rushed to canonize him. Whenever showboat Comey sails into Congress for what will be the most hotly anticipated testimony of the century, his legend will have been cemented into place forever.
As many pro-football quarterbacks have found out the hard way, there is nothing more difficult in following a legend even though in Comey’s case, the legend is a complete fabrication. Many of those polishing his halo were only weeks ago screaming for his head, another sign that America has gone completely mad.
With that in mind comes some extremely ominous news. President Trump is considering former Democrat senator Joseph Lieberman as Comey’s replacement which has more than a whiff of the appeasement of some of his greatest foes.
The longtime Democrat Lieberman was the former running mate of the doomed Al Gore as well as a member of the three amigos with warmongering Senators John McCain and Lindsey Graham.

Former Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.) is among the candidates President Trump is considering for FBI director, the White House said Wednesday.
White House press secretary Sean Spicer said Trump is meeting in the afternoon with the ex-Connecticut senator and three other possible replacements for ousted FBI Director James Comey at the White House.
Unlike past FBI directors, Lieberman has no experience as an FBI agent or as a federal judge or prosecutor. The Democrat-turned-Independent was Connecticut attorney general before being elected to the Senate in 1988.
Lieberman endorsed Hillary Clinton in the 2016 presidential campaign.

Let’s face it, Trump is in trouble right now as the full force of the Deep State is ready to go for the kill with Comey’s firing as the triggering mechanism. A special counsel is also now on the job with a mandate for an endless fishing expedition that will be undertaken with zero accountability.
Think the endless leaks and fake news stories are going to stop due to the appointment of a special counsel? Think again.
The far more likely scenario is that the leaks will escalate in an attempt to sway Robert Mueller – a longtime friend and ally of Comey – into sealing the deal on why Trump needs to be impeached.
McCain now appears to have the president by the balls and is starting to squeeze. It’s hard to see how the recommendation of Lieberman – who would likely sail through the Senate despite current carping by Democrats – is anything but his suggestion.
While Dems may be making a big show, there is no way that they block Lieberman if he is indeed Trump’s pick to take over the FBI. They couldn’t even stop Neil Gorsuch from being seated on the Supreme Court despite a costly mass mobilization of their base. Lieberman will get every Republican vote and a good number of Democrats as well.
Trump would then enter the danger zone with the escape routes sealed off.

If this becomes a reality then all avenues to drain the swamp will have been closed off, especially when it comes to Obama’s domestic surveillance for political purposes and the myriad crimes of Hillary Clinton. FBI Director Lieberman would undoubtedly continue the endless witch hunt against Trump only with full Republican support.
With a McCain loyalist heading up the FBI, Trump could be either finished off quickly or everything that he does going forward will be subject to blackmail by McCain and Graham who will be holding Lieberman’s choke chain.
There is an unspoken golden rule that when you are in a hole, stop digging. Trump appears to be ready to ask for a bigger shovel.
The appointment of Lieberman could ensure that the hole that POTUS is digging will be his own grave.
