President Donald Trump will welcome Prime Minister Shinzo Abe of Japan to Mar-a-Lago later this month.

Abe will visit the so-called “Southern White House” April 17-18 for what will be President Trump and Prime Minister Abe’s third summit meeting. The two will “reaffirm the United States-Japan alliance as a cornerstone of peace, stability, and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region,” according to a White House statement.

North Korea diplomacy and Japan-U.S. bilateral trade will be at the forefront of discussions.

The two leaders will discuss the international campaign to maintain maximum pressure on North Korea in advance of President Trumps planned meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

President Trump and Prime Minister Abe will also explore ways to expand fair and reciprocal trade and investment ties between the United States and Japan, two of the worlds wealthiest and most innovative economy.
