Are Dems’ Late-Night Sock Puppets a Sign that the Fairness Doctrine Should be Restored?

Once the word got out that late-night liberal favorite Jimmy Kimmel was receiving talking points on Obamacare directly from Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer’s office, it became abundantly clear why there is so much anti-Trump material vomited up daily.

Late night television has become a propaganda arm of the Democratic party and nothing less.

Turn on any channel and you will find some smarmy leftist prick like foul-mouthed Stephen Colbert, John Oliver, the two Jimmies, Bill Maher and others turning their entire programs into anti-Trump diatribes. It used to be that late-night was about entertainment but the same can be said about the NFL.

The latest egregious example of how politicized and aligned with the Dems that their Hollywood mouthpieces have become was the complete absence of jokes about Harvey Weinstein, the Democrat megadonor and Hollywood kingpin who is a rainmaker for the Dems.

The victim of the ongoing attacks, President Trump has finally weighed in on this gross disparity in a series of Saturday morning tweets:

This along with the 24/7 media war on Trump, the promotion of an evidence-free Russian conspiracy to hack the election, accusations that the POTUS and millions of Americans have suddenly become white supremacists and neo-Nazis and now the exploitation of the Las Vegas shootings to promote an agenda of gun confiscation begs the question as to whether it is now time to reinstate the Fairness Doctrine.

The Fairness Doctrine was a once a Federal Communications Commission (FCC) requirement that media which were given public broadcasting licenses were required to present both sides of controversial issues and topics until it was done away with under the Reagan administration.

One look at today’s media and the constant propaganda that is driven by leaks of classified information, fake news stories, innuendo and sleaze, stories attributed to anonymous sources and all with the unstated intent to discredit the legitimately elected President of the United States, and it’s hard to argue that something needs to be done.

Bringing back the Fairness Doctrine would be a good way to begin to restore some semblance of balance to a media that has only agenda and that is to reverse the results of last November’s election. Trump asked why the same Senate Intelligence Committee that has spent months of time and millions of dollars on a great Trump-Russia witch hunt isn’t investigating the media but that was the wrong question.

The real question is why not reverse the decision to do away with giving the other side a chance to rebut the smears, lies, and innuendo?

President Reagan likely had no idea that doing away with this particular requirement would lead to the overflowing sewer of sedition and propaganda that it has and were he alive today to see how the left has completely taken over the media he would regret it.

Time to bring it back.
