Bob Beckel has been fired by Fox News for making “a racially insensitive remark,” the network said.
Fox News’ human resources department was made aware of a complaint about what one person familiar with the situation characterized as a “racially insensitive remark” on Tuesday evening. Executives conducted an internal investigation, this person said, and decided to part ways with Beckel Friday morning.
According to the lawyer for the black IT worker alleging the racism: “Mr. Beckel stormed out of his office when our client, a Black IT employee came to service his computer, telling our client that he was leaving his office because he is Black. To make matters worse, after our client lodged a complaint about Mr. Beckel’s racist behavior, Mr. Beckel, in front of Chief Human Resource Officer Kevin Lord, attempted to intimidate our client and persuade him to withdraw his complaint.”
This is the second time that Beckel and Fox have parted ways. The first was in 2015 when Beckel took time off to recuperate after having back surgery and “took advantage” of the network’s generosity according to then co-president Bill Shine.
Beckel represented the liberal perspective on the five and was one of the original co-hosts when the show started.
Fox News was stupid to rehire Bob in the first place. He’s always been rude and obnoxious and his canned remarks are predictable and tired. Fox News has been insulting it’s viewers by having Bob on the air. Good riddance, now cancel the rest of that disaster 5 show with it’s liberal idiots like Juan Williams and no talent establishment rinos like Dana Perino.
Update: No worries, now we have Jesse Watters to scold Juan when he leans too far and tries to tip the boat! The five is alive, Gutfeld and Watters are fun, Perino is dull and not much of a political outsider but all in all, a good show now that Jesse is willing to keep Juan in check!
