The Colin Kaepernick crusaders have become the ultimate ghouls as they now cross their fingers that an NFL quarterback gets injured so their hero will be sought out as a savior by some desperate team.
It’s pretty sick to cheer for someone to blow out a knee to create a job opening but these are not normal people.
Having already been infuriated when the Miami Dolphins lured Jay Cutler out of retirement to replace Ryan Tannehill after he blew out his knee just days after the Baltimore Ravens took a pass on signing Kap as insurance for Joe Flacco, now they are bullying the Denver Broncos.
Having won the Super Bowl the year before last, the Broncos still boast a formidable defense and have decided to roll with former seventh rounder Trevor Siemian this year. They lost backup Paxton Lynch to a shoulder injury over the weekend which has prompted the buzz that the Mile High City would be a belated landing spot for the ex-49er.
It didn’t take long for the insinuations that General Manager John Elway is a racist for not rushing out to sign Kaepernick began, after all, he DID attend President Donald Trump’s inauguration.
In what is probably one of the most asinine pieces of so-called sports writing that has come out during the Kaepernick crisis, some mouth-breather at NBC draws some idiotic conclusions on Elway and his failure to roll out the red carpet for the unemployed militant.
The Broncos need a quarterback, and there was a time when they were interested in Colin Kaepernick (pre-protest) https://t.co/KN6aOUBgSX

Via NBC Sports Pro Football Talk “John Elway was once interested in Colin Kaepernick, but then something changed”:
Once upon a time, Broncos executive John Elway was not only interested in Colin Kaepernick, he was ready to trade for him.
But then something happened, and he seemed less interested.
Prior to the 2016 season, the Broncos openly courted the former 49ers quarterback, meeting with him twice, and had trade discussions with the 49ers about him. But Kaepernick wasn’t prepared for the pay cut then, and then the Broncos traded up so they could take Paxton Lynch, and then Kaepernick took a knee during the national anthem.
Now, the Broncos need another quarterback in light of Lynch’s shoulder sprain, but it would seem unlikely Elway’s going to make that call now.
It’s not that hard to connect the dots, either.
Since the protest, Elway has shown little interest. He did, however, attend President Donald Trump’s inauguration, and used his own personal letterhead (which features a prominent Broncos logo) to endorse then-Supreme Court nominee Neil Gorsuch. And considering Elway’s candidate of preference has never been a fan of the former 49ers quarterback, it’s hard to imagine Elway pursuing the best available free agent quarterback now.
Of course, Elway’s not alone in his party affiliation, as team president Joe Ellis who is nephew of former President George H.W. Bush and the cousin of former President George W. Bush.
It’s a pretty slick way of calling Elway a racist without coming right out and saying it, according to CNN, all 63 million people who voted for Trump are white supremacists so naturally, that would include the Broncos GM.
The writer is correct that Elway previously wooed Kaepernick in the aftermath of packing what remained of Peyton Manning off to the glue factory.
In fact, Elway did everything possible to work out a deal with the then 49er backup – even inviting him into his home – only to be shot down because Kaepernick wanted more money than the Broncos were willing to offer.
In retrospect, it was the best thing to happen to Elway considering that it was only a few months later that Kaepernick began his transformation from backup football player to social justice warrior and alleged race messiah.
That Elway has no interest in signing a guy who spurned him is only natural but there is now the baggage and it has nothing to do with Trump or the Bushes, that’s just mental masturbation from the liberal writer of the piece.
Let’s look at this purely from a football perspective and assume that Kaepernick’s anti-Americanism is a non-factor.
Removing Kaepernick’s previous stiffing of Elway, Lynch is only expected to be out for a couple of weeks and is already looking like a giant bust after being picked in the first round of the draft.
Combine that with Siemian whose on the field play doesn’t exactly conjure images of Elway as a player let alone Kyle Orton and the introduction of Kaepernick – who is arguably better than the bums that Denver has – and he would be creating a quarterback controversy and a fractured locker room. Not only that but Kaepernick doesn’t fit the new offensive system so he would be worthless anyway.
The smart move would be to wait until other teams make their roster cuts this week and pick up a cheap and temporary cast off, maybe the infamous Butt Fumbler Mark Sanchez will be available, he did spend a brief period in Denver before fumbling his way off the team.
Unfortunately, Kaepernick’s noisy advocates are driven purely by emotion and reason never enters into the picture. To them, Elway is a racist and if he doesn’t bring in their idol then it will be proof that he is in cahoots with Trump and the neo-Nazis. Seriously, that’s the way these idiots’ minds work.
