Pence hires lawyer related to Russia Probe

Vice President Mike Pence has hired his own personal lawyer to represent him in the special counsel investigation led by former FBI director Robert Mueller. The investigation started out looking into possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia but according to sources has moved into an obstruction of justice investigation. Mueller is supposedly interviewing three top intelligence officials — Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats, National Security Agency Director Mike Rogers and retired deputy NSA director Richard Ledgett — as part of the probe, as early as this week.

The lawyer hired, Richard Cullen,  was the former Virginia attorney general and served as US attorney for the eastern district of Virginia as well. Pence supposedly interviewed several lawyers before selecting Cullen, who is based in Richmond.

“The vice president is focused entirely on his duties and promoting the President’s agenda and looks forward to a swift conclusion of this matter,” Pence’s Communication Director Jarrod Agen said in a statement.

Vice President Pence has been vocal in his support of the President and making it clear that no collusion ever took place.

“As has been stated repeatedly and the President has been told, he’s not under investigation,” Pence said in a statement last month. “There is no evidence of collusion between our campaign and any Russian officials.”
