Donald Trump Reacts to Comey’s Testimony

President Donald Trump took to Twitter with his reaction to former FBI Director James Comey’s testimony. Trump reported feeling “total and complete vindication” and even took a swipe at Director Comey stating “WOW, Comey is a leaker.”

Republicans are not jumping at the chance to defend President Trump, but they have stuck to the fact no case for obstruction of justice exists. Senator Marco Rubio grilled James Comey during his testimony. Rubio argued despite all the leaks, it was never leaked President Trump wasn’t under investigation. Furthermore hinting at the possibility of this being done on purpose. Regardless of political views, Rubio made a valid argument to suggest selective leaking. You can view Rubio’s questioning of James Comey here.

The President also directly refuted parts of Comey’s testimony before Congress in which he told Senators of conversations between himself and Trump.

During a joint press conference with Romania’s President, President Trump told reporters, “I didn’t say that,” when asked if he told Comey to “let this go” in reference to Micheal Flynn. When asked if Trump asked for a loyalty pledge from Comey, Trump more emphatically denied Comey’s allegations.

“I hardly know the man. I’m not going to say I want you to pledge allegiance. Who would do that?” Trump exclaimed.

Harvard Law professor Alan Dershowitz recognized the factless case for obstruction of justice that has been laid out. Dershowitz even tweeted “We should stop talking about obstruction of justice. No plausible case.”

However, liberal activists and supporters believe James Comey’s testimony laid out a credible case for obstruction of justice.

President Trump’s attorney Marc Kasowitz stated the following after Dir Comey’s testimony;

“Mr. Comey’s testimony also makes clear that the President never sought to impede the investigation into attempted Russian interference in the 2016 election, and in fact, according to Mr. Comey, the President told Mr. Comey “it would be good to find out” in that investigation if there were “some ‘satellite’ associates of his who did something wrong.”

“Today, Mr. Comey admitted that he unilaterally and surreptitiously made unauthorized disclosures to the press of privileged communications with the President.”

Kasowitz ended by stating again  “the President feels completely vindicated and is eager to continue moving forward with his agenda with this public cloud removed.” For the complete transcript of Kasowitz statement click here.

  1. All of the’theater’ in the world won’t do much to change minds. The ‘modern day’ Democrat liberal is well versed in ‘selecting’ single words, building a fire and fanning the flames until the last ember goes out.

    Republicans apparently would rather RE-act than act to give full LOUD support to the man ‘they’ chose to be President…..

    Just a reminder, the House could easily flip to Democrats next elections….SILENCE IS A KILLER….so don’t be one.
