Furious takes lead in U.S. box offices while Guardians rule the world

Disney’s much-anticipated ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’ took the top spot in international ticket sales while ‘Fate of the Furious topped the list in U.S. theaters.

Box office measurement company comScore released the weekend box office statistics for the weekend ending April 30th.

Guardians had an incredibly strong$101.2 million showing internationally ahead of its May 5th U.S. release. Fate of the Furious came in second with $87.8 million and Boss Baby took third with $24.6 million in international ticket sales.

Domestically, Fate of the Furious took the top spot with $19.4 million in sales as How to Be a Latin Lover took second with $12.0 million.

Guardians of the Galaxy will kick-off the summer movie season when it opens this Friday.
