European Union Commission President Jean-Claude Junker threatened Thursday to break up the United States of America if President Trump did not become more supportive of the EU.
Several speakers at the European People’s Party annual conference lashed out at the populist overtones that led to Brexit, but none took a harder line against Trump than Junker who sternly said that he would advocate for the separation of Ohio and Austin from the U.S.
“I am going to promote the independence of Ohio and Austin, Texas in the US,” Junker unwittingly exclaimed. How Austin would exit the U.S. without the rest of Texas is unknown, but he sounds serious.
EU leaders are in a tailspin as a wave of populism and nationalism is sweeping the union after the EU mandated quotas to force member nations to take in Muslim refugees.
