White House Press Sec: Trump’s Signing Three Things Today
White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer said via twitter that Trump is signing just three things today.
.@POTUS signing 3 things: Mattis waiver bill into law, formal nominations 2 Senate & proclamation for nat'l day of patriotism #Inauguration

The waiver is needed to exempt Gen. James Mattis from a law requiring military officers to wait seven years before serving as Defense secretary. President Trump’s signing puts Mattis in line to be part of the first batch of President-elect Donald Trump’s picks to be confirmed by the Senate as early as Inauguration Day.
The nominations are the formal nominations of his cabinet members upon which the U.S. Senate has been holding hearings and will vote on whether to confirm.
There is little information on exactly what is in the declaration of a national day of patriotism. Will it be a federal holiday or just a spot on the calendar? What will the date be for this new patriotic observance? I imagine we’ll find out shortly via twitter.
