On Sunday, Donald Trump sat down with George Stephanopoulos for an extended interview on ABC’s “This Week.” The presumptive GOP nominee made headlines again by changing direction on his tax plan, saying that Republican party unity isn’t necessary and that he’ll get millions of democrats to vote for him.
“Does the party have to be together? Does the party have to be unified? I’m very different than everyone else perhaps that’s ever run for office. I actually don’t think so” Trump said responding to House Speaker Paul Ryan’s demand that Trump unify the Republican party before Ryan will offer his endorsement.
Mr. Trump’s plan seems to be to own the middle of the political spectrum saying that he’ll get votes from “millions of Democrats.”
Donald also hedged on his tax plan when asked how he reconciles his statements that he would raise taxes on the rich while his plan cuts them on the wealthy.
