According To Government Report Fewer Illegals Migrating From Mexico

The number of arrest by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has decreased significantly over the last three years based on statistics released today.

According to the report, the number in of arrest in during fiscal year 2011 was over a 50% decrease from 2008 numbers.

CBP Commissioner Alan D. Bersin said that “these numbers illustrate the investments made by CBP to improve border security, increase efficiencies and facilitate the flow of legal travel and trade through our nation’s borders and land ports of entry.”

However Ira Mehlman, a Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) spokesman, claims the numbers “obviously (do not) tell us how many people managed to enter the United States illegally. We do not know what factors have led to the drop in apprehension numbers.”

Another highly notable figure was amount of arrest (8,195) by CBP officers for people wanted for violent crimes to include murder, rape, assault, and robbery.

  1. A couple of months ago there was a report that stated that Mexican’s were moving back to Mexico because the unemployment rate in Mexico was 4.3% not 17% like it is here in reality. There are more good paying jobs in Mexico than there are here now. And anyone help me out with bus fare South??

  2. Ha, ha, ha. I was just joking. I can’t go to Mexico because I don’t have a passport, and as far as I can tell I won’t be getting one any time soon, if ever. I wouldn’t go to Mexico anyway. And besides I don’t speak Spanish, and Mexico isn’t so dumb to change the wording on the package of beans into English just to accomodate me.
