Defund Obamacare Now. The Death Panels Are Real

It’s gonna be a big heart breaker / Grandma needs a new pacemaker/

And the doctor says I realize she’s ill / But there’s been some legislation/

On all our medications / and all we can do is put her on a pain pill.

Ray Stevens –“We the People”

One of the provisions in Obamcare is that your doctor will have to refer to a 15 member panel who will decide what procedure and treatment you will get. Those panels are now being formed as you read this. Everything in Obamcare is based on cost effectiveness vs. your average age span. Keep in mind that Kathleen Sebelius is the head of HHS now and will be one of the heads in Obamacare. She is the one that refused to let that little girl who needed the lungs have them saying “Some people live and some people die.” That should give you a clue what to expect. Fortunately Sebelius was overruled by a panel of judges and the girl got the lungs and is doing fine.

When Sarah Palin went public about the so called “death panels” she was admonished in the media of course. Well then they should take a note from one of their own, former DNC head Howard Dean who is also a doctor. In a 2009 edition of the Wall Street Journal Dean commented on the Independent Advisory Board (IPAB) saying, ”The IPAB is essentially a healthcare rationing body by setting doctor reimbursement rates for medicine and determining which procedure and drugs will be covered and at what price. The IPAB will be able to stop certain treatments its’ members do not favor by simply setting rates to levels where no hospital or doctor will perform them.”

He’s admitting that 1) rationing exists 2) they have the authority to stop treatments and 3) This shows that we were all mislead by Obamacare because Obama said death panels would not exist. The CBO said 30 million will not be insured after Obama said everyone would be insured. He said rates would go down which is not true. Rates are going up in several states already as much as 150% Even Teamster head Jimmy Hoffa Jr. said Obamacare will ruin the 40 hr. work week as more and more companies are switching to part time . Currently there are more part time jobs than full time jobs.

Another reason o defund Obamacare is that Obama said it would cost 900 billion and it already is costing 3 trillion plus. We are living beyond our means. Let’s face it. We were sold a pack of lies. Once you implement it you can’t repeal it. Everything we were told is turning out not to be true from the cost of it to the fact you can keep your insurance. Also all our records will go in one government computer. Now with all the NSA and IRS snooping, the gov’t will have access to all our health records not to mention all the hackers that are out here.

This whole idea of Obamacare is to get us into socialized medicine. Obama and his cronies don’t care about who has what healthcare. It is all about power. Once you control healthcare you control the people. Doctors are already threatening to close down their practices.

Hospitals that spend the least on Obamacare will get bonuses so if you are a senior of a certain age past the average lifespan you won’t get that procedure.

Here are a few actual facts how Obamacare is already negatively affecting the country:

So far it has cost 12 billion dollars to delay the employer mandate. You know they are worried when Obama has asked to delay the mandate.

There has been a 45.3 % increase in the cost of Obamacare since March of 2010.

There has been an 11.2% average increase in premiums since Obamacare was passed and he said costs would come down.

The president plans to spend $684 million dollars to promote Obamacare.

There are 20,000 new pages of regulations in Obamacare.

Companies are now laying off and cutting their employees back to part time because of Obamcare. America is creating a disincentive to hire people when we need jobs now.

Four out of five families are now in poverty and 9 million jobs have been lost under Obama.

Obama’s policies have done great harm to the country. The Constitution gives the power of the purse to the House. If the House continues to fund it, House members are effectively voting in favor of Obamacare. The division of the Republicans is the reason WHY Obama keeps forging ahead with his agenda. At this point in time, the only way to stop Obama is impeachment. However, when Republicans are faced with that idea, they refuse to discuss the possibility. They make excuses for why it can’t be done.

Below are a few questions and answers, excuses and responses about Obamcare.

“What do you mean by defunding Obamacare?”

Defunding Obamacare means attaching a legislative rider to a “must pass” bill (debt limit, annual spending bill, etc.) that 1) prohibits any funds from being spent on any activities to implement or enforce Obamacare; 2) rescinds any unspent balances that have already been appropriated for implementation; and 3) turns off the exchange subsidy and new Medicaid spending that are on auto-pilot.

“There is no such thing as defunding Obamacare.”

That is a false statement. Congressmen who assert this are either asserting that funding is not being spent to implement Obamacare (false) or that a defund amendment cannot technically be executed (again, false). Defunding Obamacare can be done, and it has been attempted by the House of Representatives recently. For instance, in 2011, after gaining the majority, the Republican House included such a defunding provision on the continuing spending resolution (HR 1) when the bill first passed the House. The provision was later discarded in negotiations with the President and the Senate, but the effort began with promise.

“What is the urgency to defund Obamacare now?”

On January 1, 2014, Obamacare’s new main entitlements—the Medicaid expansion and the exchange subsidies—are scheduled to take effect. Open enrollment for both programs begins on October 1, 2013, at the start of the new fiscal year. According to the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), the federal government will spend $48 billion in 2014—and nearly $1.8 trillion through 2023—on these new entitlement programs. Also on January 1, Americans will be forced by their government to buy a product—health insurance—for the first time ever. Individuals and families who don’t comply will be penalized by tax penalties administered through the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). The Obama Administration has requested over $400 million in funding and nearly 2,000 bureaucrats for the IRS to implement the individual mandate and 46 other statutory provisions in the law. Within the Administration, the blizzard of Obamacare rules and regulations continues apace. Regulators have now written over 20,000 pages of Obamacare-related rules and notices in the Federal Register. Many of these regulations will increase the cost of insurance; CBO concluded Obamacare would raise individual health insurance premiums by $2,100 per year.

Isn’t defunding Obamacare impossible because most of the funding is ‘mandatory’ (or on ‘auto-pilot’) and cannot be amended via the annual appropriations process?”

No. According to the nonpartisan Congressional Research Service (CRS), the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the IRS, “will incur substantial administrative costs to implement the law’s private insurance reforms and its changes to the federal health care programs.” And while Obamacare provided $1 billion in mandatory implementation funding when it was enacted, HHS projects that this is largely spent. According to CRS, Obamacare “administrative costs will have to be funded through the annual discretionary appropriations.” Furthermore, annual appropriations bills routinely carry funding limitations to block all sorts of activities (for example, the Hyde Amendment), as well make changes to mandatory spending. These latter provisions are called “changes in mandatory program spending” (CHIMPS). Even if these riders were not so common-place, the stakes of so many provisions of Obamacare scheduled to take effect would present grounds for an exception.
