Cincinnati officer who killed man at traffic stop under Arrest
A University of Cincinnati police officer is now under arrest for the murder of a black man during a traffic stop.
Ray Tensing was fired from his job, indicted on murder charges and has now surrendered to authorities after body camera footage appears to show the officer shooting Samuel DuBose, a black man, in the head at a traffic stop.
The driver was stopped because his car lacked a front license plate, which is required in Ohio.
After a short conversation, Tensing reaches into the car and after a confusing half-second shoots DuBose.
The car travels about a block before stopping.
Tensing is due to be arraigned Thursday morning on a murder charge.
The University of Cincinnati has fired the officer and is considering the disbandment of it’s university police force. They are asking the city to take over patrols.
