CNN Deeply Worried about “the Big Lie.” But which “Big Lie”?

Because of lies such as these in legacy media — lies which I and millions of others believed — half of our nation’s electorate was smeared and delegitimized, and I myself was misled.

It damages our nation when legacy media put words in the mouths of Presidents and former Presidents, and call them traitors or criminals without evidence.

..

I don’t like President Trump (Do I not? Who knows? I have been lied to about him so much for so long, I can‘t tell whether my instinctive aversion is simply the habituated residue of years of being on the receiving end of lies).

Longtime liberal Feminist Naomi Wolfe upon watching Tucker Carlson’s Jan. 6 videos.

CNN and the “legacy media” alleges to be deeply concerned about the truth and “democracy itself”.  That’s so touching.    Given, however, that there are so many lies these days one might wonder which “Big Lie” is the “Big Lie” referenced by CNN.

Perhaps by “the big lie” CNN means the years of clownish claims by media personalities, some with distended veins and popping eyes, that the reason Trump “won” in 2016 was because he colluded with the Russians when, in fact, the Trump-Russia collusion story was a hoax financed by Hillary Clinton and the DNC.  But no, that “Big Lie” propagated to cheat the American people in the 2016 election is not the “Big Lie” that has CNN in such distress.

Perhaps by the “Big Lie” CNN means the fact that James Clapper and John Brennan stated on CNN that they had seen evidence that Trump colluded with Russia but when they were put under oath, they miraculously discovered that they had no such evidence.  But no, that is not the “Big Lie” or attack on democracy CNN means.

Perhaps by the “Big Lie” CNN means all the times Jake Tapper featured Adam Schiff to lie that he had actually seen evidence of Trump’s collusion with Russia?   But no, these attempts to undermine the democratic process are not “the Big Lie” that has CNN so distressed.

Perhaps by “the Big Lie” they mean that fact that the media repeatedly lied about the fake Lafayette Park Trump Bible photo-op?  But no, that is not “the Big Lie” that has CNN in distress.

Perhaps by the “Big Lie” they mean the time CNN reported, right before the 2020 election, that Trump “constantly downplayed” the fact that Russia paid bounties to the Taliban to kill US troops in Afghanistan, when, in fact, Trump “downplayed” this because it was “fake news all along”.  But no, that “Big Lie” is not what CNN is so upset about.

Since it became clear later that it was Hillary Clinton who mobilized the offices of the US government and colluded with Russians to damage her opponent before an election, this should be a very good candidate for CNN’s “Big lie” that damages our democracy. But no, this is not what CNN means by “the Big Lie” or “assault on our democracy.”

Perhaps by “the big lie” CNN means the fact that several established journalists received Pulitzer Prizes for their false reporting on Trump’s collusion with Russia, awards that used, in “the old days,” to be reserved for “journalists” who actually condescend to tell the truth to the peasants.  But no, the lies that undermine trust in the “news” media are not the “Big Lies” that CNN is so upset.

Perhaps by the “Big Lie” CNN means Stacy Abrams repeated lie that the governorship in Georgia was stolen from her in 2018 by voter suppression.  Alternatively, perhaps, CNN’s “Big Lie” is her new claim, since planned to run again and must promote the impression that she is honest, that she never claimed that the 2018 election was stolen from her – even though she is on video doing so multiple times.  But no, since Stacy Abrams checks most of the boxes on CNN’s “identity politics” application form, that is not the “Big Lie” that troubles CNN so much.

Perhaps by the “Big Lie” CNN means the lie told by most of the “news” media before the 2020 election, while Joe was hiding in his basement, that the “Hunter Biden laptop” that contains all sorts of unfortunate information about Hunter and Joe is Russian disinformation?   Surely CNN’s claim that the Hunter Biden laptop story is Russian disinformation in order to keep the truth from the American people is an excellent candidate for the “Big Lie”.  That is a repackaged version of the Russian collusion hoax that most of the media had shamelessly perpetrated before and after the 2016 election!  But no, that is not the “big lie” that has CNN up in arms.

Perhaps by the “Big Lie” CNN means the Biden administration lie “betraying the American people” that single male illegal immigrants are being turned away at the border exposed when bodycam footage shows federal contractors dropping off migrants at the Westchester County Airport in the dead of night.  But no, Biden violating the law and betraying the American people is certainly not the “Big Lie” that has CNN is so outraged.

Perhaps by “the Big Lie” they mean all the lies that destroyed so many lives, broke so many laws, and did such massive damage to the country exposed by the Durham report?   But no, for reasons too obvious to mention, Democrats violating the law and betraying the American people is certainly not the “Big Lie” that has CNN is so outraged.

One might mention the 156 “Media Mistakes in the Trump Era” compiled by real journalist Sharyl Attkisson while most “journalists” are compliant Democrat party shills.  Unfortunately, Attkisson’s list is far too long to be discussed here.

What, then, is the “Big Lie” that has CNN in such distress?  Since the media that hate Trump are, putting it mildly, not neutral towards his claims of election fraud, it would actually be useful to have a fair discussion, respecting the 1st Amendment in a neutral venue with an unbiased moderator, about Trump’s claims about 2020 election fraud (not more theatre produced by a “news” media that is massively biased against him and participated in that fraud).

One might site the polls taken of voters after the election that large numbers of them would have voted differently if the media and Big Tech had not censored true stories before the 2020 election for their favored Party. One might sit Mollie Hemingway down with one of CNN’s “stars” to discuss Mollie’s book, Rigged: How the Media, Big Tech, and the Democrats Seized Our Elections.  One might have Dinesh D’Souza sit down with one of CNN’s “stars” to discuss his book 2000 Mules: They Thought we’d never Find Out in a free and fair discussion of the 2020 election.  One can have liberal Democrat Alan Dershowitz sit down with one of CNN’s “stars” to discuss the Democrat-media’s self-serving “big lie” that the Durham report did not find massive wrongdoing in the Trump-Russia collusion hoax that did such massive damage to our nation.

GWU constitutional law professor Jonathan Turley, a liberal Clinton and Obama voter, not a “right-winger”, sums it up well,

Let that sink in: The Justice Department — as well as the media that covered it — effectively shut down a duly elected presidency, based on … a politically engineered hoax.  … Conspicuously missing in the aftermath of Durham’s report is an apology [emphasis added].  Clinton, Comey, members of Congress and others [the media] could apologize to the American people — and, yes, even to Trump.

One is not advised to hold one’s breath.  It continues as we speak
