So begins one of my favorite shows on TV now which is CBS’s Person of Interest. It is produced by Christopher Nolan and J.J. Abrams. In a recent interview they said they based it on the government’s Prism program and revelations by Edwin Snowden.
The show has had a “pervasive sense of paranoia” from the start, said his fellow producer, Greg Plageman.
“We’ve always said, if we do our job, at the end of every episode you should be looking at your cell phone a little bit differently on the table,” Plageman said.

In the beginning, John Reese, a former Green Beret and CIAfield officer, is living as a vagrant in New York City after the death of the woman he loves, and is presumed dead. He is approached by Harold Finch, a reclusive billionaire software genius who is living under an assumed identity. Finch explains that after September 11, 2001, he built a computer system for the government that uses information gleaned from omnipresent surveillance to predict future terrorist attacks. However, Finch discovered that the computer was predicting ordinary crimes as well. The government is not interested in these results, but Finch is determined to stop the predicted crimes. He hires Reese to conduct surveillance and intervene as needed, using his repertoire of skills gained in the military and the CIA. Through a backdoor built into the system, Finch receives the Social Security number of someone who will be involved in an imminent crime, at which point he contacts Reese. Without knowing what the crime will be, when it will occur, or even if the person they were alerted to is a victim or perpetrator, Reese and Finch must try to stop the crime from occurring.
This was the basic idea of the Patriot Act under Bush,but now that Obama is in it is the Patriot Act on steroids with Obama being the perpetrator on our civil liberties and us the victims. Oh John and Harold we need you now.
The NSA sees everything and takes in everything, our e-mails, phone calls and they admitted they steal 250 million text messages a day. There are cameras everywhere that the government and regular hackers and public can hack into and see all,even in your own computer..
Obama gave a speech saying he didn’t know the extent of the surveillance. YEAH RIGHT!!!! And proposed moderate changes in the NSA system, but experts said they dont expect that to change anything, Changes by President Barack Obama to how information collected by the National Security Agency is handled won’t quell concerns about violations of civil liberties, say local intelligence experts who differ on the effect the changes may have on national security.
The changes, laid out during a speech at the Department of Justice, came in the wake of uproar about once-secret NSA data collection programs made public by leaks from former NSA contractor Eric Snowden. And they come at a time when the ability to collect data is developing far more rapidly then the ability to fully understand the legal and moral ramifications of what to do with that information.
One expert contacted by the Tribune called the proposals “a good first step” while another termed it “window dressing.” A retired Army intelligence officer expressed concern that some of the changes could weaken national security.
Yes, cameras everywhere, government collecting all our data, we are truly living in a police state. Obama has said if congress doesn’t go along with him he will resort to executive orders, “I have the pen and I have the phone,” he recently stated. Total disregard for our constitution which he called an outdated document. He has become the dictator in chief.
On his radio show on Friday Rush Limbaugh noted that the flags in back of Obama when he gave his NSA speech were bigger than usual, “This is what they do in third world countries ruled by dictators,” Rush said, “It’s all symbolism.”
Recently singer and actress Cher stated that “Obama, let us down.” No Cher. Obama didn’t let you down. You and your left wing pals in the arts and media were so consumed by your hatred for Bush and so blinded and naieve to what Obama was about you failed to heed the warning signs that were all there right in front of your nose. You were so blinded and hypnotized by “yes we can” and “Hope and Change” and “the first black president” that we now have what we got. Well Cher I hope you like living in the U. S. S. of A. The United Socialist States of America and be prepared to share your wealth.
