Numbers Are In For GOP’s Latest Presidential Candidate. Here’s How He Fares: POLL

It has been seven days since conservative businessman Vivek Ramaswamy entered the 2024 presidential race, and he has yet to make a splash in the polls because many Republican voters don’t know who he is, according to a Morning Consult survey released Tuesday.

Almost half of likely GOP primary voters, 44%, have never heard of Ramaswamy, the poll shows. Of those that have, 28% find him “favorable,” and only 8% find him “unfavorable,” with 20% having heard of him, but don’t have an opinion.

He has taken a strong stance against left-wing cultural narratives, called for a complete decoupling from China and the reinstitution of merit in wider American society. The “Woke Inc.” author is concerned with promoting his agenda, “reviving a missing American national identity,” as opposed to focusing on his opponents, Ramaswamy previously told the Daily Caller News Foundation.

Ramaswamy accounts for 1% of likely Republican primary votes, along with other GOP hopefuls like Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina, former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem and Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, who all also garnered 1%, according to Morning Consult.

“Vivek is a political outsider who launched his campaign 7 days ago. When voters hear him speak, they love Vivek’s message about the unapologetic pursuit of excellence in this country, restoring merit and ending the left’s woke agenda – and he’s just getting started,” Tricia McLaughlin, spokesperson for Ramaswamy, told the DCNF.

The poll surveyed 1,993 registered voters from Feb. 24 – 26, with a margin of error of +/- 2 percentage points.

In a hypothetical head-to-head matchup with President Joe Biden, only one in five voters would go for Ramaswamy, according to the poll.

The same survey shows former President Donald Trump leading the pack with 48%, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis with 30%, former Vice President Mike Pence with 7% and former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley with 6%.

Ramaswamy is the third Republican candidate to enter the race, following Haley and Trump.
