Congress Passes Coronavirus Relief Bill That Has Nothing To Do With Virus Relief

On Monday, Congress passed a long-awaited $900 billion coronavirus relief bill as a part of a $2.3 trillion omnibus spending package to fund the government through next September, and as you might expect, the behemoth piece of legislation included far more than just stimulus checks and pay for government workers

In fairness to the nation’s lawmakers, they were only granted a handful of hours to review the more than 5,000-page document before they were expected to vote for its passage. It’s doubtful that anyone outside congressional leadership read it, but nevertheless, it received overwhelming support from both Republicans and Democrats in both chambers.

“President Trump today asked Congress to rescind the bill and make it go to the people at $2000 per person and $4000 for a couple, but congress will be unable to do that until Jan,3rd when they return from the Christmas Holiday.

“It’s called the Covid relief bill, but it has almost nothing to do with Covid,” Mr. Trump said in a video posted online. “Congress found plenty of money for foreign countries, lobbyists, and special interests while sending the bare minimum to the American people.”

But entitled Nancy Pelosi et al, thinks $600 is all we peons deserve while giving millions to foreign countries, to better their lives.  Not to mention the nice kickback they will receive, so they can continue to have dinner at the French Laundry – at our expense.

Lawmakers aren’t even reading the bill before voting on nearly $1 trillion dollars of spending.

Americans are only getting $600 so where is the rest of the money going?

$135 million to Burma
$85.5 million to Cambodia
$1.4 billion for “Asia Reassurance Initiative Act”
$130 million to Nepal
$700 million to Sudan
$250 million in Palestinian aid
$25 million for “gender programs” in Pakistan.
Struggling American taxpayers being asked to pay for gender study programs in Pakistan??? WTF is wrong with these people???
Asian Reassurance?

The Kennedy Center received $25 million as part of the CARES Act. Now another $40 Billion??? BILLION ??????????? Somebody on Capitol Hill is keeping their pet project fat and happy! And…another day goes by with another betrayal by CONgress and not a damn thing was done about it. How much for ILLEGALS, IMMIGRANTS, FOREIGN WORKERS  that you LOVE with PASSION .?????

Some of the additional pork projects in this bill include: Money is even set aside to fund an investigation of the “1908 Springfield Race Riot” and enforce horse-racing integrity.

Funding for a museum to celebrate “the life, art, history, and culture of women.” Oh, and they also made sure to appropriate funding for programs to discourage teenagers from drinking under age and engaging in unsafe sex.

According to his breakdown of what the package provides:

*Those on unemployment will receive an additional $300 per week for 11 weeks

  • The eviction moratorium will be extended

  • Ban on surprise medical bills

  • $319 billion for small businesses

  • $284 billion for PPP

  • $13 billion in SNAP benefits and child nutrition

  • $82 billion for education

  • $10 billion for child care

  • $7 billion for broadband

  • A tax credit for employers who offer paid sick leave

  • An extension of the Employee Retention Tax Credit

That’s the good news.

The bad news is that the bill is combined with a $1.4 trillion omnibus spending package that goes to fund the government for the next year. It gives billions of U.S. dollars to foreign governments, sends millions to facilities like the Kennedy Center, lays the groundwork for a climate change advisory council, among other things.

It’s not enough to give us a measly $600 per person when sending far more money to foreigners.

We should be getting even more money than the first stimulus package provided over the summer as more and more people lose their livelihoods to these government-mandated lockdowns.

This is why Pres. Trump asked Congress to rescind the bill and pay each American $2000 and $4000 per couple.

Senator Rand Paul spoke out against the bill saying, “To so-called conservatives who are quick to identify the socialism of Democrats: If you vote for this spending monstrosity, you are no better,” Paul said on the Senate floor.

“When you vote to pass out free money, you lose your soul and you abandon forever any semblance of moral or fiscal integrity,” he said, targeting his fellow Republicans.

Paul suggested that instead, lawmakers should open the economy, cut obvious waste in the budget, and stop piling on debt for future generations.

The legislation passed in the Senate by a vote of 91-6. Five Republicans — Sens. Ted Cruz (Texas), Marsha Blackburn (Tenn.), Rick Scott (Fla.), Mike Lee (Utah), and Ron Johnson (Wis.) — joined Sen. Rand Paul to vote against the bill. Prior to that, the bill passed in the House by a vote of 359-53, with only 53 members — 50 Republicans, 2 Democrats, and 1 independent — disapproving.

This stimulus bill is just another socialism test run.
