Sexual Accusations Or Political Machinations??

I don’t mean to be flippant with this title as sexual harassment is a serious matter not to be laughed at, but the recent rash of accusations pouring out like water through a sieve is getting to look like people wanting to get in on the act and yearning for attention especially since these accusations are all from 20-30 years ago suddenly coming out now all at once.

During the presidential campaign five women led by ambulance chasing lawyer Gloria Allred, of course, came out and accused Donald Trump of sexual harassment and misappropriations etc. Trump denied it and responded with a lawsuit against them which sent them scurrying away like scared rabbits.

Since then the Harvey Weinstein scandal was exposed with all sorts of women accusing him of sexual misconduct with them most from 10-20 years ago. Why all of a sudden and now? Why didn’t they say anything then?  Weinstein does strike me as quite the pervert and men in power positions like him take advantage of women with their position sexually with them. It was commonly known as “the casting couch” in Hollywood jargon and has been around since early movies since 1900 according to Wikepedia.

Following Weinstein’s accusers more and more celebrities started coming out about Weinstein and others sexually  molesting them.

A young guy claimed actor Kevin Spacey threw him on a bed and jumped on top of him in a sexual act. The kid ran out. That was about 20 years ago and Spacey apologized and said he didn’t remember the incident, but chose that time to come out and say he was gay. The gay community blasted Spacey for coming out at such an awkward time making gays look like rapists. Another young man in London said he asked Spacey for some acting advice and they went up to his apartment, smoked some pot and had drinks and then the kid passed out. When he awoke Spacey was on top of him.

Let’s examine this, the kid goes with Spacey on his own free will up to Spacey’s apartment, smokes pot with him on his own free will, has drinks with him on his own free will and then passes out, but accuses Spacey of attempting to rape him?

Since that time eight members of Spacey’s Netflix series House of Cards have accused Spacey of sexually harassing them. The series was abruptly canceled and a part Spacey had in a movie was canceled and they are replacing him with actor Christopher Plummer.

Another woman who was an intern for several actors when Dustin Hoffman was filming Death of a Salesman thirty years ago told how Hoffman used sexual language with her and his crew would laugh. She said these guys had the interns massage their feet for them and run errands for them. She said she felt so humiliated, but the reason they took it was because they were so star struck to be around these celebs and have their pictures taken with them. Now she accuses Hoffman of sexual harassment after everyone else is doing it these days. Hoffman said he doesn’t remember it, but has the most respect for women and apologized if he did hurt her.

Now Ellen’s old partner Portia de Rossi is getting into the act. Not to be outdone, Portia de Rossi claims Steven Seagal put her on the casting couch in his office during an audition — and she’s also blasting her then-agent for a callous and nonchalant reaction.

Portia says the incident happened during her final audition for a part in one of Seagal’s movies — she does not say which one. She alleges the action star told her “how important it was to have chemistry off-screen as he sat me down and unzipped his leather pants.”

She says the next bombshell came when she ran out of the office and called her agent. According to Portia’s tweet, her female agent only said, “Well, I didn’t know if he was your type.”

That makes it seem like whenever this happened, it was before 2005 … when Portia came out. It also hints at premeditation if, in fact, her agent was aware Seagal intended to make the vulgar move.

That was at least 12 or more years ago. Again why is she saying this now? Is it because everyone else is saying stuff and it seems to be the in thing now? Again I’m not being sarcastic or sticking up for this type of action, but it just seems that too many are coming out all at once at the same time especially saying “me too” even though it was 10, 20, even 30 years ago.

Now comedian Louis C.K is under fire. The New York premiere of Louis C.K.’s upcoming film title “I Love You, Daddy” was canceled due to “unexpected circumstances,” The Hollywood Reporter revealed, shortly before The New York Times released an article in which five women accused the comedian of being sexually inappropriate with them.

Comedians Dana Min Goodman and Julia Wolov told the Times C.K. exposed himself to them in a Chicago hotel room in 2002. Abby Schachner shared a similarly disturbing story with the newspaper, telling the Times she heard C.K. masturbating on the phone when she spoke to him in 2003.

Comedian Rebecca Corry said C.K. was inappropriate with her as well.

“He leaned close to my face and said, ‘Can I ask you something?’ I said, ‘Yes,’” she told the Times. “He asked if we could go to my dressing room so he could masturbate in front of me.”   This was 14 years or so why bring it up now?  Why didn’t they say something then? All these women are coming out now as if it is the thing to do and they all want to get in on the action.

There is even a website set up called “me too” so women can report their sexual harassment cases. The thing is since most of these accusations happened 20 to 30 years ago there is no way to prove any of them or take any to court since the statute of limitations is passed, besides how many of these women are remembering this accurately and were more like that one intern who said they took it because they liked being around the stars and were willing to go along  with it at the time?

Anti-establishment GOP Senate candidate Roy Moore came under fire Thursday following the publication of a Washington Post report alleging that the Alabama politician engaged in sexual acts with an underage girl nearly 40 years ago.

The Post reported:

Leigh  Corfman says she was 14 years old when an older man approached her outside a courtroom in Etowah County, Ala. She was sitting on a wooden bench with her mother, they both recall, when the man introduced himself as Roy Moore.

It was early 1979 and Moore — now the Republican nominee in Alabama for a U.S. Senate seat — was a 32-year-old assistant district attorney. He struck up a conversation, Corfman and her mother say, and offered to watch the girl while her mother went inside for a child custody hearing.

The piece continues with Corfman’s account, alleging that the young district attorney later attempted to court the then 14-year-old in a sexual manner:

Alone with Corfman, Moore chatted with her and asked for her phone number, she says. Days later, she says, he picked her up around the corner from her house in Gadsden, drove her about 30 minutes to his home in the woods, told her how pretty she was and kissed her. On a second visit, she says, he took off her shirt and pants and removed his clothes. He touched her over her bra and underpants, she says, and guided her hand to touch him over his underwear.

“I wanted it over with — I wanted out,” she remembers thinking. “Please just get this over with. Whatever this is, just get it over.” Corfman says she asked Moore to take her home, and he did.

The newspaper also reported that three other women told its reporters “Moore pursued them when they were between the ages of 16 and 18 and he was in his early 30s.”

Moore immediately denied the allegations.

“These allegations are completely false and are a desperate political attack by the National Democrat Party and the Washington Post on this campaign,” he said in a statement.

Moore’s campaign also questioned the timing of the serious allegations made against the Senate hopeful.

The Judge has been married to Kayla for nearly 33 years, has 4 children, and 5 grandchildren.  He has been a candidate in four hotly-contested statewide political contests, twice as a gubernatorial candidate and twice as a candidate for chief justice.  He has been a three-time candidate for local office, and he has been a national figure in two ground-breaking, judicial fights over religious liberty and traditional marriage.  After over 40 years of public service, if any of these allegations were true, they would have been made public long before now.  Especially coming from the  anti–Republican Destroy Trump media Washington Post. It’s so obvious this was a set up ploy against Moore. The timing is impeccable.
