Mitt Romney Announces Paul Ryan as his Vice President

Mitt Romney made the announcement official- Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan is his 2012 running mate. Governor Romney and Paul Ryan appeared together for the first time as running mates at a campaign event in Norfolk, Virginia.

As was previously reported, the Romney Campaign made the official announcement via a new mobile app that Paul Ryan was indeed Governor Romney’s running mate for the 2012 Election.

After much speculation about when the announcement for GOP Presidential candidate Mitt Romney’s Vice Presidential pick will come, the campaign has announced that he will announce his choice  at 8:45 am ET tomorrow morning, Saturday, August 11 in Norfolk, Virginia.

According to sources, the finalists for the Vice Presidential choice has come down to:

Paul Ryan, Marco Rubio, Tim Pawlenty, Chris Christie, Rob Portman and an “unnamed wild card”.

His official campaign press release states that Governor Romney will kick off “The Romney Plan For A Stronger Middle Class” bus tour after the official announcement is made, and he and his running mate will attend rallies in Ashland and Manassas in the afternoon.

  1. The Huffington Post has just announced that Mitt’s choice will be Ryan. He’s not my first choice I would prefer Rubio, but Ryan should help consolidate the base and will be a forceful voice on the campaign trail. Will have to wait and see if the Post is correct.
