Border Patrol Unit Takes Fire in the Rio Grande Valley

FRONTON, Texas – U.S. Border Patrol Agents were shot at while patrolling the Rio Grande river.

Early this morning, agents assigned to the Rio Grande City Station Marine Unit reported they were fired upon from the Mexican riverbank while patrolling near Fronton, Texas. The agents saw four subjects with automatic weapons who shot more than 50 rounds at them. While none of the agents were injured, the boat, a 21 Foot RSDV Riverine Shallow Draft Vessel, was hit several times.

This incident is currently under investigation.

  1. why are we not shooting back, this nonsense will continue until we put the lead to them and they learn there are consequences, our BP agents lives are worth the cost of a few hudnred rounds fired at what are most likely mexicans working for the cartels

    1. I asked if the agents returned fire, if the attackers had uniforms of any kind and if the Mexican authorities had offered comment, explanation or apologies for the action. The CBP media relations office did not have those details at the time of publication, but I did ask them to update me should they get more information.
