Whose Truth? – Zimmerman NOT GUILTY!

Is anyone really surprised at the out outcome? I don’t mean that from the cynical viewpoint of “what the white man did to the black man”! I mean it from an honest, level-headed attempt to apply the actual “law”, not justice as you perceive it to be.

Plain simple fact is that the prosecution failed to convince the jury “beyond a reasonable doubt” that George Zimmerman set out and planned to kill Trayvon Martin. Period.

The prosecution also failed to convince the jury beyond a reasonable doubt that George Zimmerman put himself in a position where he could “take out” this teenager and use Florida’s “stand your ground” law to get away with it. Again, period.

Is this case about the letter of the law or social justice? Let me start by saying. I do not believe that George Zimmerman had been salivating, fantasizing, and hoping to be able to kill a black person. I just don’t buy it. His life showed no shred of evidence of hatred towards blacks.

Some have bought into the hype that Zimmerman willingly told the 911 operator that the boy was black and it was one of his main descriptors. That’s not true. In fact, the NBC Morning Show doctored up the video to make it look like that. Zimmerman actually initially said that he didn’t know what color Martin but was asked a few more times by the 911 operator trying to get more information.

Too many onlookers are victims of sound bites. This racist, black-hating, Hispanic, self-proclaimed protector of his universe actually had a black girlfriend in high school and took her to the prom. It was documented that he tutored kids in reading, among them many black children. He helped organize and raise money for a black family whose child was in need of medical care. Is this racist backwards day? Maybe!

Now, let’s be honest about this. I don’t know the man. I don’t know if he came from or worked in a neighborhood where violence runs rampant or the violence is perpetrated by young black men or young Asian men or young white men! None of us know.

Is it really racism to be afraid of someone in a hoodie walking toward you late at night with his or her head down? No!

What if you had read that in your neighborhood there had recently been several violent acts carried out at night by people in hoodies? And someone fitting that description approached you? Would you have been afraid?

What if someone in my area wearing a hoodie beat the tar out of me, took my wallet and car keys, and left me for dead? Now when I walk down the street I’m afraid and ready to defend myself, especially if someone approaching me is wearing a hoodie. So am I now a racist?

If you’ve answered “yes” thinking that any of these scenarios smell of racism, it just goes to show how misused the word has become.

What is racism? It is usually defined as “views, practices and actions reflecting the belief that humanity is divided into distinct biological groups called races and that members of a certain race share certain attributes which make that group as a whole less desirable, more desirable, inferior, or superior”.

I call those that commit violent crimes “thugs”, whether they wear hoodies or not. They are not a part of a biological group. They are just someone who has decided that they will get what they want through whatever illegal means necessary and too bad for you.

Trayvon Martin didn’t deserve to die for simply being in the wrong place wearing a hoodie. He didn’t deserve to die for being a young black man in a strange neighborhood. He didn’t deserve to die for the way he may have spoken to Zimmerman. He didn’t deserve to die for the actions of that night.

It was a horrible tragedy. But, there are two tragedies that took place. The death of a young man for what might have been all the wrong reasons and the prosecution of another man because of political pressure.

The Justice Department looked at this last year and took no action, meaning, they had no basis for a case! The sheriff looked at the case and found nothing. The courts have now looked at this and found nothing.

The legal system, like it or not, worked. But it seems like the Jessie Jackson’s and the Al Sharpton’s aren’t going to give up until they get their own special brand of justice. Both reverends have forgotten what the book they follow says… “Submit yourselves for the Lord’s sake to every human authority” and “vengeance is mine says the Lord” and then there’s “do not repay evil with evil”.

If a real wrong has been done here reverends, don’t you think your Lord can hand out a better, more just outcome than you can? Isn’t calling for any kind of violence in any way against your “good book”?

At the end of the day all we have managed to do is stir up anger on all sides of the issue.

We need to revisit these kinds of laws and make sure they are written properly so when actions are taken in these situations they can be handled fairly and quickly.

My heart goes out to both families. They each have a lot to deal with.

The worst thing that could happen is more violence and more deaths. That will do nothing to heal us and will only make things worse.

Freedom to Break the Law?

In light of the George Zimmerman trial, many people are watching the media circus fabricate its next deception. While the media are attempting to divide America through racial wars that belong not to this generation, they have been exposed time and time again for their outright lies concerning this case. If it is not MSNBC omitting portions of Zimmerman’s 911 call, or jurors proclaiming that the media showing only pictures of an innocent little black boy has deceived them, then it’s prosecutors who are withholding evidence that would exonerate Zimmerman.

The media web spun.

But do they have a right to dispense half-truths, fabricated stories, or outright lies? Of course not! This is simply what the people tolerate – that is until it hits their livelihood. And let me tell you, it does. Martin Luther King stated, “An injustice done anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.”

Now, I know that in America today most believe that the grace the American church has been teaching, “a license to go and use that grace as an occasion for the flesh” (Galatians 5:13), is the right to break God’s moral law, but in fact, that mindset stands in direct contradiction to its true definition.

Herein comes its counterfeit: licentiousness.

Americans stand back and wonders why their government acts in the fashion it does, as to believe that government has some mysterious freedom to break the laws of our republic. After that, its natural course is to trickle over into the realm of the media, a media that proclaim half-truths, fabrications and straight-up lies – as if to say that freedom of speech is now a right to break the law.

Have you noticed in today’s society that equality is talked much of, of course without reference to the law or right-giver?

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal (under law), that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.” (Thomas Jefferson)

When you read the Declaration of Independence you can see that our rights are derived from our Creator, and nowhere can you find our Creator advocate the right to break His laws (Exodus 20). Freedom is not the right to do whatever we want to do, but that which is right before God to do!

Zimmerman Heads to ‘Stand Your Ground’ Trail, Could Face Acquittal

George Zimmerman still stands accused of the shooting death of 17 year old Trayvon Martin in Sanford Florida. On Thursday Zimmerman’s lawyer announced via his website that there will be a ‘stand your ground’ hearing, based on the claim that Zimmerman killed Trayvon Martin in self defense. Via Fox News and the Associated Press:

A finding in Zimmerman’s favor would end the criminal case against him, as well as immunizing him from civil action.

“Now that the State has released the majority of their discovery, the defense asserts that there is clear support for a strong claim of self-defense. Consistent with this claim of self-defense, there will be a ‘Stand Your Ground’ hearing,” said O’Mara in a statement.

The law allows people to use deadly force, rather than retreat, if they believe their lives are in danger.

O’Mara described the hearing as a “mini-trial,” with arguments, witnesses, experts and evidence that would be included in a criminal trial, but without a jury. 

Tensions continue to run high in the city of Sanford and across the nation as many believe the shooting was racially motivated.

Al Sharpton’s National Action Network has been a staunch supporter of the Martin family throughout the ordeal. At the time of this post they could not be reached for comment.

Has Florida Prosecutor Ensured Zimmerman Acquittal?

The host of NPR’s Tell Me No More – Michael Martin – interviewed Sybrina Fulton (mother of victim Trayvon Martin) on April 26. In the extensive interview, Ms.Fulton said she “can wait a year for justice” and that she feels the case is “moving in the right direction”.

Zimmerman has been released on bail and is awaiting trial on second degree murder. With no lesser charges of manslaughter included, I fear Ms.Fulton may never see the type of justice she is waiting on. Florida special prosecutor Angela Corey bowed to pressure from media and activist groups by refusing to include any weaker charges that might be easier on which to convict Zimmerman. By only allowing for second degree murder, Corey has now burdened the state with making their case for intentional murder beyond a shadow of a doubt. As we’ve see with the delay in Zimmerman’s arrest, a Stand Your Ground Law, and questions about Zimmerman’s injuries there already seems to be a plethora of evidence to at least suggest that Zimmerman’s actions were not intentional or cold-blooded. Even legal expert Alan Dershowitz has serious doubts about the success of that charge. “If there are riots, it will be the prosecutor’s fault because she overcharged, raised expectations,” Dershowitz said. “This prosecutor not only may have suborned perjury, she may be responsible, if there are going to be riots here, for raising expectations to unreasonable levels.” 

Oh, did I mention it was an election year for Ms.Corey?

As a mother I share Ms.Fulton’s sadness and desperation. I certainly don’t blame her for wanting Zimmerman to pay for the death of her son. I do, however blame special prosecutor Corey, Al Sharpton and an irresponsible media complex for clouding the facts of this case to the point that Martin’s family may never see real, true justice.  I hope a judge and/or jury will be more impartial than the goons at NBC, for Zimmerman’s sake and the sake of the Martin family. However, I’m with Dershowitz on this one – if there are riots after Zimmerman is acquitted of second degree, Corey should hire her own lawyer.

Did Zimmerman Say “Coon” Before Shooting Trayvon Martin?

Left Wing sites like the Young Turks sure thought so.

And even CNN purported that George Zimmerman had used the racially charged slur too.  But then they analyzed the tape more and decided maybe Zimmerman didn’t say “coons”.

And more recently still, CNN has gone back and discovered a THIRD possible word that Zimmerman uttered, and it still wasn’t “coons”.

One has to wonder though…. Now that it’s looking more and more like George Zimmerman did not call Trayvon Martin a “F*cking Coon”, why haven’t more news outlets come out to undo the damage they’ve done?  Are they trying to inspire a race war?  Kudos to CNN cleaning up some of the mess they made in the earlier parts of this discussion.

Demz in Da Hood

The entire Democratic House minority has adopted a “wear your hoodie to work” day in solidarity with Congressman Bobbi Rush, who was dragged off the House floor by “da man” after delivering a stirring and extremely lucid speech on the late Trayvon Martin. Rush caused a scandal by breaking House rules on decorum when he sermonized from The Bible while wearing a gray hoodie.

The tragic shooting of Trayvon Martin led to an outcry for justice by those who believe Martin’s shooter Zimmerman was wrongfully released in accordance with Florida’s “Stand Your Ground” law.  According to 9-11 tapes, the neighborhood watchman Zimmerman, who is a Democrat with hispanic heritage, suspected Martin and followed him in part because he was wearing a hoodie and presumably because he was black.

The Democrats issued the press release for the “hoodie day,” which was attained by an anonymous source:

Tired of being pushed around by white Republikkkan crackers who think they run this joint? Are we a bunch of House *redacted* to put up with the forcible removal of our brotha Bobbi Rush by the Klan members who run the GOP?

It is time to rise up and speak Truth to Power!

We demand that the Republikkkans back off their thuggish tactics or we will mobilize our allies in the New Black Panther Party, Media Matters and the Southern Poverty Law Center to mount a ferocious campaign condemning them for their actions!

That is, unless the GOP is willing to amend the $3.4 trillion budget just submitted by us compassionate Democrats to the racist, bigoted, hoodiephobic Republikantz by adding a $200 billion remembrance fund, which will be distributed to our non-partisan allies in the media to keep hate crime victims’ memories alive!

Giving the Democrat rebuttal to those “Republican crackerz” who would dare cut off a black man in mid-diatribe will be Maxine Watters, Sheila-Jefferson Lee, and Hammerin’ Hank Jackson.

We cordially invite you to wear your official Obama 2012 gray hoodie in solidarity with Congressman Rush (and Trayvon Martin, of course). All proceeds go toward the re-election of Dear Leader.

With your help, we can defeat racism by taking the fight to the evil white oppressors in the Republikkan party!

On Trayvon Martin

Over the last few days more and more people have been asking me to comment on the Trayvon Martin case.  I intentionally held back for a while. I wanted to wait for all the facts to come to light before I added my voice to the fray. We still don’t have all the facts, but unfortunately most people aren’t waiting for the facts to enflame an already spiraling situation. Here are some my thoughts on this tragic situation. You may not agree with me; I may not agree with you…but is there a way to civilly disagree while pursuing true justice at the same time? I hope. I hope.

The Mob now rules Zimmerman’s fate

 

There is a reason that this country was founded as a Republic and not a pure Democracy.

The Mob.

When the loudest voices get what they want Justice be damned, there is The Mob.

When Organizations have Tried and Convicted outside of the Courts of Law, there is The Mob waiting with a noose in hand under the local hanging tree for the man pulled from his home. As the New Black Panther Party has done as they take on the action of handing out “Wanted: Dead or Alive” posters with Zimmerman as the hunted.

When Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson, the Reverends of God’s word so they claim, preach that Zimmerman must be punished, even before Trial by his Peers, they have become not ministers of Gospel but active flame fanners of The Mob.

When all media is turned against a man to demand his arrest and push the State to prosecute a man who has yet to be charged and given a chance to defend himself, there is The Mob screaming threats of, “No justice, no Peace. There will be retaliation,” as Louse Farrakhan, leader of the ethnocentric Nation of Islam has tweeted.

If The Mob does not get the blood it requires it will take that and more from wherever it can.

When the day came that the President himself sided with The Mob before a man has his Constitutional right to a day in Court, the Office of the Presidency joined The Mob.

I can believe the man is guilty without ever giving up the concept of his Rights. Just as I believe there was no justice for Caylee Anthony or Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman but never would I join The Mob. Each person accused in those cases had their day in court and were found not guilty. Even if I do not agree that does not mean I take justice into my own hands and play like it’s the Wild West. Ask Richard Jewel what it’s like to have The Mob on your tail.

I will not presume to find the man guilty based on evidence presented to me through a media I have problems with finding as a truthful organization to begin with. Just as well I will not be intimidated by The Mob to call for a man’s death before his day in court and convicted.

Right now in America The Mob has the biggest loudspeaker it has ever been granted, the Oval Office, and a another life and several others if The Mob gets its way, may be lost as well as all sense of true Justice because of that.

George Zimmerman did shoot Trayvon Martin that is a known fact. All the rest is for Due Process in a Court of Law. All the rest happening on the outside is nothing more than looking for a Lynching by The Mob.
