Who’s Going to Pay?

Have you ever been surfing the web and found a video that made you drop your jaw and made your blood pressure go through the roof? I recently came across one such video.

The sad thing is that this woman is just one example of the many in our country who expect that their decisions should come without responsibilities. The way I look at it, if you can’t provide for them, don’t have them!

The FairTax Series: America's Road To Prosperity, Part 1

This is the first of a 5 part series I am writing based on the book “The FAIRTAX: The Truth”. In the series I take a 300+ page book and condense it down to a virtual “cliff notes” version designed for the novice political reader. I designed the series for those who are not very knowledgeable about politics or the tax structure and how it affects all Americans. I encourage eveyone reading the series to buy the book and get the full effect of the policies in place today and see how the FAIRTAX will change the dynamics of government financing.

A couple of years ago I began hearing about a new concept in taxation. This new concept is called The FairTax. I didn’t pay much attention because I thought “how is any tax fair?”, when some pay and  some don’t. At first I dismissed it as another scam to throw me off the track of an out of control government looking for another way to hoodwink me into paying more of my hard earned money into their grand spending plans.

I have long since grown tired of paying so much of my money into ever growing but useless government programs that pay people to sit on their butts and spend my money. Welfare expenses keep going up as more and more people find ways to game the system by having babies, faking injuries, working for cash under the table, etc. The ultra-rich hide their money in “foundations” or overseas to avoid the taxes I have been paying for 45 years. All of them, rich and poor are getting over on the other working stiffs who are too stupid, too honest, or unwilling, to do these things. These money pits keep growing as the amount of available income to tax drops.

One of my pet peeves with income tax is those who don’t pay any. While I was paying 32% in my working years the local drug dealer was paying nothing. The local prostitutes who hang out on street corners in the bigger cities or work out of high priced hotels were paying nothing. The welfare cheats who sit around finding ways to game the system for their own benefit have no intention of doing anything to benefit society, or themselves for that matter. The illegal aliens who were working for cash were paying nothing. I had noticed the illegal aliens especially. They were everywhere and driving much nicer vehicles than I was, or am now driving (I don’t hang out where the hookers hang out). I was paying a 25% income tax, a 7.5% social security/Medicare tax, plus state taxes, and being told the government couldn’t afford for me to retire while those not paying taxes lived the good life. I struggled, they flourished. That is when The FairTax began to make sense to me.

I heard Neal Boortz one day talking about this new plan on his radio show. I listened with interest and thought it sounded good but never really did any more to learn about The FairTax. In the last election cycle, the 2010 mid-terms, I kept bumping into Carol Chouinard and she kept handing me literature about The Fair Tax. I took the information and looked it over without really spending a lot of time educating myself on this new concept. Interesting but, ehhhh!!!!

One day I was going through a stack of papers that had accumulated over a few months, actually several months, and found the literature Carol had given me. As I read through the brochures and leaflets I began to realize that this was not the run of the mill scam to get more of my money. This was an idea that made sense to me once I really looked at it.

Carol is the local guru on The FairTax. She lives in Rogers County, 2nd Congressional District, State of Oklahoma. She travels throughout Eastern Oklahoma, or anywhere else for that matter, presenting The FairTax to any group or person who will give her a chance to enlighten them. I ran into her again the other night and we got to talking about political issues and The FairTax came up. Well, I was complaining about the current debt ceiling debacle and how to deal with it. Carol began to explain some more about how The FairTax was the answer to much of the problem.

As I listened to her a light bulb came on in my head, and the squirrel began to spin the cylinder. The things I had read came back to me and began to make sense. I began to remember about the way our tax system keeps hard working honest people in bondage while those who don’t mind cheating skate by without paying anything, only taking from those of us who do things the right way. Carol gave me a book about The FairTax. It is the second book called FairTax: The Truth. The first book, The FairTax, came out in 2005. This book was published in 2008 so is 3 years old as I start this article. Much of the information I will include in future articles about The FairTax will come from updates from the FairTax web site as I want to give you the most up-to-date information and statistics available.

One solution I see to our fiscal problems in this plan is the title, The FairTax. From everything I have read and the research I am doing, this plan solves many of the financial problems we face as a nation, the issue of money paid in taxes. I find that this plan is aptly named. I often hear Democrat and sometimes Republican politicians, especially those in Washington, cry about how “the rich” get over by not paying enough taxes. Yeah, like the politicians pay “their fair share”. Remember the hullaballoo a few months ago about Senator John Kerry, the one who parked his multi-million dollar yacht, $7 million yacht to be exact, on the far side of the bay because the state taxes on that yacht were cheaper there than on his side of the inlet? $500,000 per year cheaper to be exact. So much for Washington’s multi-millionaire insiders being concerned about paying their fair share of taxes. Hmm, I wonder where I am going to park my $7 million yacht. Oh, never mind, I don’t have one.

I also hear many “poor” people make the same statements, “the rich need to pay more taxes”. The problem with the “poor” complainers is that most of the ones I know don’t pay any taxes at all either. Most of the “the rich need to pay more taxes” crowd, at least the ones I know personally, are on the dole. They are drawing welfare, food stamps, social security disability, state aid, etc. Many of them either don’t work at all or work part time. They pay nothing and spend much of their time complaining that they don’t “get enough help from the government”. They have cell phones for themselves and their children, several have big flat screen HD televisions, complete with the latest game consoles, cable TV service, cigarettes, and are usually well stocked with beer in the fridge. Actually, I need the “rich” people to continue to be “rich”. They are the ones who will hire me, hopefully, so I can make a little money. Poor people never seem to hire me for anything.

In the spirit of “transparency”, my wife and I both have cell phones, we have cable TV service, and one 37 inch flat screen HD television set. Before you say “AHAH!!!” let me offer a caveat to this. We don’t get any help from the government and are not exactly in the “rich folks” category. I am retired but not old enough to draw social security, my wife works a full time job, and we have a small Mom & Pop business that gives me a little work and usually provides us very little in the way of profit. As a matter of fact, if the business doesn’t make a profit in 2011 we are going to have to shut it down. I work part time for a friend when he needs help on a project but the rest of the time I spend working on and around the house. We have a 1976 Chevy pickup that my father-in-law gave to us when he became unable to drive. We have a 1995 Ford Escort that my mother-in-law gave to us when she became unable to drive. We also have a 2004 Dodge PT Cruiser with over 100,000 miles on it (it was a demonstrator model). We don’t owe any money on our cars, and live in a 101 year old house with a $60,000 mortgage. Not exactly Beverly Hills here, closer to Green Acres, but we don’t get any government assistance either.

To get back to the point of this article, our nation cannot keep going the way it is financially. We cannot continue to borrow and spend, drive businesses out of the country, and raise taxes on the “rich”, those making $250,000 per year or so, the small to medium businessman/family who provide the bulk of the jobs in this nation. We have to do something to bring the jobs back to the United States. We need to make it feasible for those who hide their money to use that money to provide jobs so those who desire to work but can’t find a decent job can get back to work. Giving people unlimited unemployment pay is not the answer to prosperity, it is a handout not a hand up. Many of those drawing that unemployment would work if they could find a job. Some of them are lazy bums that are looking for a handout but most, and I do mean MOST, are honest hard working people who just want to provide for their families.

The FairTax is a method to accomplish this task of financial recovery and prosperity. In the next installment of this series I intend to delve into how our current tax structure is designed to inhibit rather than enhance prosperity. I will cover the costs of enforcing and complying with the current tax code and how it affects every person in America, tax payer and non-taxpayer. The FairTax books are a treasure trove of information about how our financial system works, or doesn’t work, and what We the People can do if we will stand up and demand that the politicians change the way they do things. Other installments will cover more aspects of The FairTax plan and how we go about getting it implemented by politicians that are more concerned about themselves than We the People. Elections are only 11 months away, so let’s get to work changing our future. God Bless America!

I submit this in the name of the Most Holy Trinity, in faith, with the responsibility given to me by Almighty God to honor His work and not let it die from neglect.

Put Me In Charge

This is  a newspaper article that was originally published on November 18, 2010 in the Waco Tribune Herald in Waco, Texas.

I first read it in an email that was forwarded to me by our staff cartoonist, the ever talented A.F. Branco, and it is just too good not to share!  The email asked if I would have the guts to pass it on. I’ll do more than forward it to a few friends, I’ll share it with ALL THE WORLD to see!

This 21-year-old lady understands things more than most people 2 or 3 times older than she is!  She sees her future crumbling in front of her, and she sees the solutions as nothing but common sense. I would have to say I most definitely agree with her! There is not a single thing that I disagree with her on! If she ever runs for office, I will DEFINITELY vote for her!

 Put me in charge . . .

Put me in charge of food stamps. I’d get rid of Lone Star cards; no cash for Ding Dongs or Ho Ho’s, just money for 50-pound bags of rice and beans, blocks of cheese and all the powdered milk you can haul away. If you want steak and frozen pizza, then get a job.

Put me in charge of Medicaid. The first thing I’d do is to get women Norplant birth control implants or tubal ligations. Then, we’ll test recipients for drugs, alcohol, and nicotine and document all tattoos and piercings. If you want to reproduce or use drugs, alcohol, smoke or get tats and piercings, then get a job.

Put me in charge of government housing. Ever live in a military barracks? You will maintain our property in a clean and good state of repair. Your “home” will be subject to inspections anytime and possessions will be inventoried. If you want a plasma TV or Xbox 360, then get a job and your own place.

In addition, you will either present a check stub from a job each week or you will report to a “government”  job. It may be cleaning the roadways of trash, painting and repairing public housing, whatever we find for you. We will sell your 22 inch rims and low profile tires and your blasting stereo and speakers and put that money toward the “common good”.

Before you write that I’ve violated someone’s rights, realize that all of the above is voluntary. If you want our money, accept our rules. Before you say that this would be “demeaning” and ruin their “self esteem,” consider that it wasn’t that long ago that taking someone else’s money for doing absolutely nothing was demeaning and lowered self esteem.

If we are expected to pay for other people’s mistakes we should at least attempt to make them learn from their bad choices. The current system rewards them for continuing to make bad choices.

AND while you are on Government subsistence, you no longer can VOTE! Yes that is correct. For you to vote would be a conflict of interest. You will voluntarily remove yourself from voting while you are receiving a Government welfare check. If you want to vote, then get a job.

Florida Drug Users on Welfare Protected Against Illegal Search and Seizure?

A Federal Judge has temporarily banned drug tests for welfare recipients seeking to “cash in” on the backs of taxpayers in Florida on the basis of Constitutional protections against illegal search and seizure.

Federal Judge Mary Scriven imposed the temporary ban basically because, in her ruling, she said that the court needs time to determine if the law violates the Constitutional ban on unreasonable search and seizure. Is this some kind of perverted joke? I ask this because I just read an article where the TSA is in fact illegally stopping motorists and searching their cars in a new program DHS likes to call VIPR. 2012 GOP Presidential candidate and current Texas Congressman Ron Paul went on the record stating his objections to the latest set of DHS laws rules in an op-ed from tennesseenewspress.com titled, TSA Releases VIPR Venom on Tennessee Highways .

If you thought the “Transportation Security Administration” would limit itself to conducting unconstitutional searches at airports, think again. The agency intends to assert jurisdiction over our nation’s highways, waterways, and railroads as well. TSA launched a new campaign of random checkpoints on Tennessee highways last week, complete with a sinister military-style acronym–VIP(E)R—as a name for the program.

Here[once again] we see a Federal Judge intervening with Florida State law to protect welfare recipients from the [supposedly] illegal search and seizure of a drug test that was enacted simply to ensure the working taxpayers are not funding welfare recipient’s drug habits. Meanwhile, the TSA can fondle citizens private parts at the airport and stop citizens and search their vehicles on any highway in the U.S. with no valid reason.  Ron Paul summed up the new TSA VIPR program pretty well at the end of his op-ed:

Disarming the highways and filling them full of jack-booted thugs demanding to see our papers is no way to make them safer. Instead, it is a great way to expand government surveillance powers and tighten the noose around our liberties. (emphasis mine)

For those of you naive enough to think Florida welfare recipients are not using illegal drugs, I point to the following facts of the past few months when the law was being enforced: Since the law went into effect in mid-July, over 7,000 applicants have taken and passed the drug test, 32 took the test and failed and approximately 1,600 have refused to the test.  Applicants do not have to say why they refused, but their refusal will block them from receiving the government benefits.  If you are caught operating a motor vehicle in most states while under the influence of drugs or alcohol and refuse to take the sobriety test or submit to a blood test, your drivers license is automatically suspended. Of course, the government makes a huge profit in fines and DUI school in order for you to get your license back,( from the actual working class citizens) while the welfare class doesn’t have any earned money to take from them. ( nor are they paying their fair share in taxes)  If a person was in need of real help in the form of a welfare cash payment in Florida, they simply would have no problem proving that the cash would go towards food or shelter and not dope. Unless of course they are already on dope, and can’t hold down a steady job because of it, therefore they demand that other people support them and their habit. This is the very definitive crux of this problem.

The champion of the welfare class, the ACLU started this whole disgusting federal intervention into Florida’s right to drug test welfare recipients by filing the lawsuit in the first place. Isn’t it weird beyond comprehension on how the ACLU can sit by and allow the TSA to unconstitutionally stick their hands down American citizen’s pants at the airport and also approve of the TSA jack-booted thugs use of the VIPR  illegal automobile searches of American citizens simply traveling from one town to another? Actually, it all doesn’t seem too strange when we consider the idea that the ACLU and the DHS and the TSA are obviously doing the Obama administration’s bidding today.

Here is serious a tip for our readers :  When traveling across state lines or any other time when in your vehicle, be sure to follow all local, state and federal laws about carrying your second amendment allowed guns with you in your car. What better way for the anti-gun Liberal jack-booted thugs from the TSA to start taking away your right to bear arms through the illegal searches being conducted under the new TSA VIPR program.

2012 just can’t get here fast enough!

For the People, By the People, Of the People

The devastation Irene caused can now be the center for job creation by the people running this country. As they continue to try to sell the idea that food stamps, welfare, and unemployment all stimulate the economy, hence so does Irene. With that type of logic we should applaud all natural disasters since they are job creators according to this administration. What is really needed to stimulate the economy and create jobs? The creation of a welfare state is certainly not the solution to our current economic problems, yet that is the direction we are heading. How well is that working out for Europe? The UK? Now this president explains things in such a way that some people may believe he has the answers to end these problems. Understandable, that teleprompter is a great device, along with those people who actually write the words that come out of the mouths of those in Washington, including our President. Mr. Obama finds anyone and everyone to blame for what is going on under his watch, and heck he may even believe that the problem lies with congress considering he continually asserts the house and senate cannot agree on issues like the debt. He like blame everyone for the downgrade and refuses to recognize that S & P; P warned if there was not a plan in place to cut spending the downgrade was inevitable. Instead the president got what he wanted, at any cost, which was increase the deficit by raising the ceiling, continue spending as always, and not produce the type of cuts in spending that were/are necessary. Let’s be honest: The downgrade occurred as a result of spending and the unwillingness of this president to lead in such a way that is critical for this country to survive economically.

Mr. Obama will soon present his new job creation plan, no doubt something similar to his other rhetoric. These stimulus packages and printing more money cannot solve the problems we, as a nation, are experiencing, yet that is always part of Mr. Obama’s solution. How many jobs and how will did those packages work the last time? Mr. Obama believes in government control and big government. But the reality is, for the American people to truly understand what is happening in Washington and truly realize the actual goals of this government; they would need to get a firm grasp on the issues at hand. How many of you can say you truly understand what is needed to create jobs and get this country moving along into economic prosperity? It really isn’t that difficult, what is difficult is having to decipher the constant rhetoric and untruths of corrupt politicians whose motivation is stimulated by their own greed and arrogance.

For corporations to return to the United States, thereby creating jobs for the American people it would require the government to lower current tax rates so they are competitive with other countries. Currently the United States has the highest tax rate on businesses than any other country in the world. The government would also have to restructure and minimize regulations on businesses. Right now most businesses cannot afford to stay in this country; the regulations continue to grow, and most business owners cannot survive. Take a look around you – In every nook and cranny of this country businesses are failing. How many abandoned sites do you see on a daily basis? Look, and keep looking.

As our Constitution is being dismantled on daily basis, and as the American people remain disengaged, the ideals of our forefathers along with everything they put into place in an effort to protect this country, is slowly disappearing. People like Pelosi and Reed, as well as others, forget that the government is: FOR the PEOPLE, BY the PEOPLE, and OF the PEOPLE – they need to be reminded of that.

Entitlements – The Effects of Big Government

While the Democratic party continues to find ways to spend money, and the president is off golfing, taking vacations, or just out campaign trail hoping for an addional four year term – the country is falling into a deeper recession. Whether people agree or disagree, democrat or republican, it doesn’t matter; just look at how much the cost of goods and services have gone up in the past few weeks. Although this presidents spending has well exceeded that of his predecessors, he alone is not responsible for the debt crisis, nor the creation of the entitlement state, or a welfare society that currently exists. No,  the creation of big government began sometime ago, its effects are just beginning to catch up to us now. The sad part is, there are so many on the Hill who what to make the government even bigger, they fail to recognize the warning signs they are getting from those in Europe who are seeing the errors of their ways.

The spending in Washington that has been going on for decades is at the root of the problem.  However, the lack of clarity on how true job creation actually occurs – which is not by raising taxes or extending unemployment benefits as suggested by democrats.  The self-righteous attitudes of those on the hill, whose own self-interests seem to come first,  are just a few examples of what is at the crux of the problem. The reality is we live in a welfare society where people truly believe government entitlements are their God-given right.  These same people fail to recognize making government bigger than what it already is, is not the answer.

What is happening in Athens, London, and other parts of the world, and is beginning to happen here in the United States is just the beginning of waht happend to economys that cannot sustain government spending. The flash mobs, threats, violence, and so on that occurred in Madison, Wisconsin as well as other parts of the country, are the just beginning of what happens in a welfare society driven by people who have visons whichh are not founded in a realistic way.  The issues with Wisconsin employees are just one example of what is spreading across the nation.  These people are beginning to feel the end result of what happens to people who rely on entitlements simply because they were promised by a government whose spending well exceeds its income. This is what they were promised and this is what they truly believe they are entitled to at any cost, they don’t care.

There is a common theme that exists: even when times are rough, and government clearly cannot fulfill their expectations, and cuts are necessary, these flash mobs are proof that people demand what government has promised. Regardless if it bankrupts the state they are living in, they truly believe they are entitled to things such as pension plans they did not pay into, early retirement at age 53 or earlier, free medical benefits, welfare checks, food stamps, and the never-ending unemployment checks. The violence is just beginning. In addition, union officials are sending people to states to fight against anyone who tries to put an end to the entitlements. People are being threatened; their businesses are risk, if they don’t comply with the threats. One person in Kenosha, WI who was suppose to hold a tea party meeting was threatened and forced to hold the meeting elsewhere; scared by union goons.

What we are seeing in London is just the beginning of the end of years of government entitlements. Generations of people who have spent their entire lives living on government handouts and stimulus – the reality of government outspending always catches up; it is just a matter of time.  The people of London, for example, that time is now. The same thing is happening here and people are reacting the same way – fighting, picketing, rioting because they have a big government mentality. They believe that they have a right to the all the free stuff government has been providing.   Remember: As government keeps getting bigger people and business keep getting smaller – how do you create jobs from that? How do you like the end result? Think about that next time you go to vote or contact your congress man or woman.

A Common Sense Approach To The National Debt

It is with great pleasure that I dedicate this article to my Dad. I ask you to indulge me for just a moment as I give you some “behind-the-scene” information before I address the title issue of this article, the National Debt.

For many years, my Dad and I had a strained relationship. Over the years we have determined that there were two main factors that contributed to this:

     1. I am like him in many different ways, yet it seemed as though we had very little in common;
     2. As is typical with many fathers and daughters, he did not want to let me grow up, and I was anxious to grow up.

When I was about 34-years-old, there finally came a point in time where I sat him down for what I called a “come to Jesus meeting”. This meeting was the best thing that has ever happened in our relationship. I was very respectful to him, but told him he had to accept the fact that I was a grown woman, a wife, and a mother with my own thoughts and ways of doing things. I told him I never expected that he would agree with everything I did, thought or said, however, if we were ever going to have any semblance of a healthy relationship he was going to have to respect me as an adult, not just his daughter.

My Dad did not realize that he was making me feel this way in our relationship, and I am very grateful that he was receptive to what I had to say. One of my biggest regrets is that I did not have this talk with him many years before. We wasted many years of a very good relationship because I avoided having that difficult discussion with him.

I thought I had addressed the issues with him, and made my feelings known to him, but obviously I had not. Was it that I had an attitude with him that, “I’m a grown woman, you can’t tell me what to do”? Possibly. And that statement is true. However, looking back, I think I probably went about it in the wrong way. I had quite an attitude with him, trying to prove that I was an adult.

Before this conversation my dad and I would get into arguments frequently. I felt like I was walking on eggshells because I never knew what was going to set off the tinderbox between us. Because of this, phone conversations with him were very limited, and focused mainly on surface issues.

Now, my dad and I talk on the phone almost every single day, if not 2, 3, or 4 times a day. We talk about anything and everything. NOTHING, and I mean NOTHING is off limits when it comes to our conversations now. Things that I thought I would never be able to talk to my dad about we now have lengthy conversations on those topics.

One of the topics we talk about frequently is politics. This is unusual, in and of itself, because as I have mentioned in previous articles, I absolutely detest politics! I know, I know… very strange, since I am now writing for a Conservative Political news site.

I believe he enjoys the fact that this is actually something we can talk about a great deal more than I do, because he sees that I am taking an active interest in what is going on in this country and trying to do something to change it. This is also one of my greatest regrets- that previously I was like so many other people out there who could care less when it comes to politics. Because this attitude is so prevalent, we now have elected officials who have not been held accountable and feel they are the elite and should be able to make the rules for all of us “commoners”.

In discussing what is going on with our nation, one topic that is almost a daily part of our agenda is the National Debt.

He told me a couple of weeks ago that he has had enough of these politicians not listening to those who elect them, so he was going to write a letter to them to just lay the facts on the table. He told me he wanted me to help him get the letter out to every single member of Congress, and of course, I agreed. I am going to do something I absolutely hate, now- I am going to be “politically correct”. My dad is what we call “technologically challenged”.

He and my mom are actually visiting us this week, and he actually had the computer in front of him doing research! I was so proud of him! We have vowed to bring him into the 21st Century if it’s the last thing we do! But since we have not accomplished that goal with him, I am going to use the remainder of my article to post his “Common Sense Approach to the National Debt” here in my column. These are not my ideas, they are his. These are not my words, they are his. But with one very small exception, I agree a million percent with him!

THE NATIONAL DEBT CRISIS

Personal – You have a budget.  You don’t spend more than you bring home or disaster!!!!!!

Locals, States and Federal Government need to do the same.

As to the Debt Commission Suggestions:  Social Security recipients have paid their “Debt to Society”.  Government officials need to live accordingly.  We have not received Cost of Living Adjustments for the last 3 years but government officials have had salaries, budgets, and etc. raised.

*SSI needs to be trimmed deeply.  Most of the people on this program could be retrained for a job that they could do, taken off the payment rolls.

*”Crazy Check” recipients need to be taken off the system. This part of the program is nothing but a joke!

*Welfare recipients should be drug tested and if they test positive then taken off the Welfare Rolls and they lose their checks.

Welfare recipients should do work in Environmental Services (cleaning offices, streets, parks, etc.) or child care for those that have children (which is most of them), therefore they are doing something for society to receive the money; food stamps, housing, etc.  This would give them more incentive to get out and find a better job.  The way it is now they are able to do whatever they want all day and depend on taxpayers to support them.  A woman should not be allowed to have more than 2 children on welfare before having the option to sterilization or any other children would be paid for by them including birth; medical; food; WIC, etc. this from birth to age of 18.  A baby under the age of 1 year should not be allowed Food Stamps if they are on the WIC Program.  WIC provides everything that it would need for nutrition.

*Unemployment recipients only receive unemployment checks up to 6 months. This has been the standard in the past, and has worked, there is no reason to pay people to sit home, all the while they are turning down jobs because the job “does not pay as much as unemployment.”

Taxpayer money should be used for defense and government operations ONLY–  NOT for: Grants; subsides; studies; projects groups; bailouts; unions; pensions, etc.

Our taxpaying money should stay in the United States and not giving foreign aid to almost every country in the world, since most of the countries don’t help us and some take our money then protest against us.  We give aid to other countries for drilling when our drilling program is neglected.

*Redesign the Tax System
Do away with the current tax system and tax 10% across the board – Welfare Recipients to government officials and tax corporations 15%.

*Do away with several government departments (i.e.; Education – our young people are not getting quality education due to modern education (math), etc., Political correctness, etc. Labor Department –  Cost of Living adjustments don’t consider food and energy, so what does the taxpayer should survive on?   Also, unemployment figures do not consider people not working but are off the unemployment rolls.  These are very important factors but yet this Department does not consider these important, so we do not need the Department of Labor.  These are just 2 examples of government departments not needed.  All of the other departments and agencies need to meet the strict criteria’s, also.

*Do away with Obama’s: Czars, Commissions, etc.

*Limit Obama’s budget as to travel, etc.  However if the mileage tax is made law then Obama could pay off the National Debt since he never spends any complete days at the White House.

The term  “Tax the Rich” should never be spoken because:  Tim Geithner; Charlie Rangel; Jeff Immelt; Jesse Jackson; Al Sharpton; Reverend Wright; Louis Farrakhan; Black Panthers; AARP; ACLU and Labor Unions have proved that the government tax people (IRS) do not go after the “big guys.”

*Do away with Obama Care since this was a very illegal transaction and was highly misrepresented; elected officials did not read before passing, etc., which is their JOB!  Mortgage Foreclosures had to redo their procedures, so should not Obama Care have to the same?

*Do away with the Congressional Budget Office since they cannot be objective with figures (they are supposed to be neutral but have proven several times lately that the CBO is very tainted).

FOOTNOTE:
*Tax Payers Rights
not: ACLU; Labor Unions; Foreign Countries, etc.  The ACLU, Labor Unions and other groups should not “trump” the average taxpayer of the United States.  These groups have caused the United States to go from #1 in many fields of opportunity down toward the bottom of even some of the 3rd World countries.  If these groups think they are needed in the United States then why don’t they go to the 3rd World countries and reform them.  These groups should leave us taxpayers alone and go overseas with their idiotic ideas.

P. S.  I personally challenge the Federal Government to try these mentioned measures and then tell me that I am wrong.

***************************************

The points my Dad made are just basic, common sense. He is not college educated. He is life educated! Real world experience allows you to fail, which gives you the opportunity to pick yourself back up, allowing for success. It’s quite obvious that common sense is non-existent in Washington and State governments, or you would have seen these common sense, basic concepts implemented years ago!

I believe a lot could be accomplished if the things my Dad took a common sense approach to in his notes above were to be implemented in addressing our National Budget crisis. As my Dad stated in the beginning of his notes, in our personal budgets we do not spend more than we bring home or we have disaster! This is one of the first, basic lessons my parents taught me. I am very grateful that they did, because for me, this is just the way things are done.

If this concept would have been implemented in our National Budget, things would most certainly be different today. We have proof of this in the housing market. Many people signed papers to purchase a house that was way out of their price range, and now they cannot afford it. A very good friend of mine was pre-approved for a mortgage almost twice what they were comfortable paying. They planned their budget out, knew what they were comfortable paying, and were quite shocked to find out how much they were pre-approved for. Thankfully, they had common sense and did not get into a house that was way more than they could afford.

I also believe a lot could be learned from mine and my Dad’s relationship. If I had sat down with him years ago and addressed him matter-of-factly, with respect, rather than with a “know-it-all” attitude, maybe he would have realized how he was making me feel. On his part, it would have been a bit more difficult to sit down and address things, because this is one area where we clashed. But if he could have approached things with me from an adult approach rather than a Father-Daughter approach, I believe we could have “nipped things in the bud”, as Barney Fife used to say, a lot quicker! However, as a Mom I see how that could be quite difficult, especially if your child is not approaching things from a mature, respectful point of view. By both of us being stubborn in each of our approaches, rather than building on our relationship, we were both actively pushing each other further away.

Just one side-note, where his notes are concerned. The one small area I disagree with him on is where he says that a woman should be limited to just 2 children receiving benefits on welfare. You may be surprised to know that I believe that there should be a limit of 1 child on welfare. If you have another child when you are on welfare, you do not qualify for further assistance. If you are following my articles in the Broken System: Foster Care  section on this website, you will start to see in my news few articles why I say this. Am I being heartless? When it comes to the irresponsibility of so-called parents, yes, I am heartless! These countless innocent children are the ones that are paying the price for the adults irresponsibility!  Someone, somewhere, somehow, someway HAS to stand up for these children! It’s called tough love! My parents had to apply tough love to me when they were raising me- and even as a young adult- and at the risk of sounding conceited, I believe I turned out quite well!

Trump Tromps the Teleprompter

Many people in America just cannot grasp the realism behind Donald Trump’s recent outbursts concerning Barack Obama’s trashing of American values and blatant Alinsky-taught, Nanny-State fiscal insanity. These two men are your basic polar opposites in just about every category of life. Trump is a real estate mogul, a self-made businessman extraordinaire who is largely successful through hard work and pure determination. That obviously makes him the anti-Obama in the fact the Mr. Obama is basically an anti-capitalist Socialism pimp who thinks Americans are too stupid to find their own way in life without the government regulating every facet possible.  Donald Trump is the epitome of the American dream through a tirelesswork ethic, whereas Barack Obama is the pied piper of the race-based wealth redistribution agenda so prized by the blind, mathematically challenged Liberal Democrats. The Donald sees spread sheets in black and white numbers, profits vs. losses, and success vs. bankruptcy, whereas Barry sees spreadsheets as takers vs. makers, white people against his beloved diversity-club, and evil capitalism vs. his Utopian nanny-state fiscal insanity.

The Trump tri-fecta is rooted in reality, while Barack Obama, the career community organiser and manufactured politician is rooted in the social justice fraud that leads to the  irresponsible destruction of the very system that has made America the  most prosperous and free nation on earth for centuries. The Donald is all about big rewards and an enhanced standard of life through hard work and personable responsibility, while Barack is all about handouts to irresponsible freeloaders based on skin color and vote-buying. One person’s ideology here would enhance Americans lives through opening up the door to greater wealth and prosperity through innovation in business and less government regulations, while the other would run America into bankruptcy through mandating government control of everything while overloading the welfare roles to the point of  financial ruin, not to mention destroying the jobs environment by mandating the Affirmative Action style race-based hiring of one group over the other instead of the most qualified, which leads to bloated labor prices like we see in our current government, where it now takes approximately eight workers to do the work one what one worker did just 10 – 15 years ago. If  The Donald ran his companies like The Teleprompter runs America today, he would soon to be living in a government subsidised apartment collecting food stamps and hoping for more handouts from the taxpayers, with no hope for the future in sight.

These are the truths that every American voter must be aware of come the 2012 elections. Donald Trump can speak for hours and answer questions on economics without so much as a few notes to refer to, whereas Barack Obama rarely utters a word that hasn’t been prepared by his handlers and has been proven incapable of speaking  without a teleprompter. This points to the fact the Trump knows what he is talking about, and Obama doesn’t, period. Trump is a qualified businessman capable of  preventing America’s impending financial Armageddon, and has a proven very successful economic track record, while Obama is a manufactured politician who in fact has never worked an honest day in his life.  Which one do you want to bet  America’s future on ?   The stakes are higher than they have ever been throughout America’s history of prosperity and freedom in 2012. Donald Trump realises the danger of four more years of  Barack Obama’s Utopian Socialist Nanny-state agenda and has chosen to make a stand for all of America in 2012.  Trump’s success and wealth are well-documented for all of America to see, in what hard work and a good education can bring a person as far as their quality of life goes. Trump has expressed his love for America and his desires that future generations of Americans are given a fair chance of achieving the success that he has today. This gives Trump theunalienable right to question Obama’s ideology, his right to the Presidency of the United States, or his policies and agenda, whether the Democrats, the media propagandists or the political operatives/mouthpieces of Obama’s administration like it or not. The Donald does not like the current fundamental transformation of America that Obama promised in the 2008 campaign, but had refused to define. That transformation is to a big government controlled, welfare nanny state for votes scheme, and it is right out front for all to see today, and Trump is to be thanked for helping expose that agenda.

As proof for those in denial of our economic situation today, in relationship to Obama’s proven welfare/nanny state transformation agenda, I offer up the numbers after two short years of Obama-rule here. Yes the poverty rate is up 32% under Obama, and long term unemployed was up a staggering 146% in that article!  Today, gas prices are up a whopping $3.87 a gallon, as opposed to $1.61 a gallon the day Obama took office!

Whether Donald Trump is making a serious run for President in 2012, or just simply getting some face time on the talk show circuits and news programs, he is to be commended for taking a stand against putting America through another four years of  listening to the lies and misinformation written by propagandists and inserted into Obama’s  teleprompter for the mindless Community Organiser in Chief to read. I personally hope Trump keeps right on tromping the teleprompter at every chance he gets, right on up to the 2012 elections. America certainly needs that bright sunshine that Trump is putting on the Obama Socialist transformation of America.

Liberalism: Perpetuating a Society of the Poor

Assuming their motives are pure, liberals are to be applauded for their dedication to assisting the poor and needy. But that does not excuse the abject failure of their misguided ideology which they wield like a sledge hammer – smashing prosperity wherever they find it in their lunatic quest to achieve equal outcomes.

The Good Samaritan

Ignoring the fact that that Good Samaritans, by definition, need to be in a superior position in order to provide aid, comfort, and resources to assist the poor, liberals force a redistribution of wealth upon society at large – purposely destroying wealth, which is the very foundation from which aid to the poor and needy has to be drawn. By killing the goose that lays the golden egg, liberals obliterate society’s capacity to lift up the downtrodden. By forcibly taking from the productive and redistributing the ill-gotten gains to the unproductive, liberals exacerbate the problem by creating an ever-larger pool of the poor. By their imperial decree that government is the sole solution to poverty, liberals conveniently ignore the honored philanthropic and charitable traditions in American society.

Some approaches to welfare in the world foster idleness, give subsidies with no labor required, create a burden of debt, and promote greediness—an appetite for things of this world rather than the riches of eternity.

Too often rich and poor alike shut their hearts to the divine attributes of love and compassion. The rich languish in their abundance and justify turning the poor away as “welfare cases.” The poor are likewise entrapped, becoming dependent on others in a system destined to trample initiative, undermine family responsibility, foster divisiveness, and erect barriers to equity, opportunity, and fellowship. – Robert D. Hales

Hales’ expose of illogical systems of welfare pegs liberalism at its very core. Liberalism ignores the divine attributes of love and compassion. “For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: “Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me” (Matt. 25:34–36). Implicit to this scriptural example of love and compassion in action is the fact that these acts of charity are done voluntarily. Force is not the answer. True charity comes from the heart. It comes voluntarily. It comes from a deep and abiding conviction that all men are the giver’s brother – and all women are the giver’s sister.

Liberalism’s approach to welfare is a good example of Charles Darwin’s theory of Survival of the Fittest. Liberals believe that only the fittest in society survive. Progressives also proclaim themselves the fittest of all and therefore crown themselves as Gods on earth – presiding over the vast unwashed masses of humanity who are too stupid to figure out for themselves the wisdom of socialist/communist doctrines – especially how they relate to wealth and the proper redistribution thereof. But progressives forget one little fact when it comes to Darwin’s theory of “Survival of the Fittest.” The missing element? – Love! If Survival of the Fittest is a natural law, then how do liberals explain the fact that men have developed love and compassion for their fellow men? Through acts of charity mankind has ensured that those who are not deemed to be among the fittest survive to live another day. Through philanthropic acts of generosity, untold numbers of people have been fed, clothed, educated, and loved – their needs met without once relying upon the largesse of a misguided progressive government agency.

Hales also pegged another problem of liberal ideology when it comes to welfare. Hales notes that incorrect systems of welfare “give subsidies with no labor required.” This, in a nutshell, aptly describes the vast system of entitlements enacted by progressive legislators and signed into law by equally progressive presidents. Liberal entitlement programs do not require the able-bodied to work for what they receive. This robs the poor of their dignity. It robs the poor of the desire to work and lift themselves from the depths of poverty through their own efforts. It robs the poor of not only their own lives but the lives of their posterity by creating and perpetuating a permanent culture wherein people exist in poverty and misery – barely able to exist upon the meager handouts of the public dole. Public entitlements suck the very life from the souls of men, women, and children by taking away their incentive to better themselves. No conservative endorses a system in which those who are truly physically incapable of providing for their own needs are denied food, clothing, shelter, and other basic needs. But conservatives are keenly aware of the emotionally damaging aspects of the public dole. It literally destroys people.

Public entitlements also create massive amounts of debt – a phenomenon now fully on display in the United States of America. Under President Barack H. Obama, the public debt has soared to record heights because of his profligate spending – much of it on idiotic programs of dubious value. By funding entitlements through raids on the public treasury, Obama and his ilk have unfairly and unethically burdened both the present and future generations. The heavy burden of unrepayable debt threatens to crush our society – which is also part of the liberal plan.

The liberal philosophy regarding welfare also promotes greediness, the final aspect of unworkable welfare systems described by Hales. Obama is happy to forcibly take money from the rich and the middle class in order to shower it upon the heads of the poor. But take notice that Obama is not willing to put a crowbar to his own personal fortune and pry loose any funds to be used to relieve the suffering of his half-brother who lives in a shack in Kenya. Is Obama his brother’s keeper? Apparently not! Obama also ignores the plight of his aunt who lives in the projects on the east coast. While Obama greedily keeps his money to himself and lives the high-life on the public dime, his relatives languish in abject poverty with no hope for change that they can believe in.

The wisest of the Greeks was always held to be Solon, the father of democracy. Solon foretold the Age of Obama and others like him who through their destructive actions would bring down empires:

The ruin of our state will never come by the doom of Zeus; . . . it is the townsfolk themselves and their false-hearted leaders who would feign destroy our city through wantonness and love of money; . . . they are rich because they yield to the temptation of dishonest courses. . . . They spare neither the treasures of the gods nor the property of the state, and steal like brigands one from another. They pay no heed to the Unshaken rock of holy Justice; . . . our beloved city is rapidly wasted and consumed in those secret deals which are the delight of dishonest men. – Solon

Dr. Hugh W. Nibley, commenting on Solon’s proclamation, said:

It is the perennial story: “Ye yourselves raised these men to power over you, and have reduced yourselves by this course to a wretched state of servitude. Individually, you are a lot of sly foxes, but collectively, you are a set of simpletons. For ye look to the tongue and the play of a man’s speech and ignore the deed which is done before your very eyes.”( Ivan M. Linforth, Solon the Athenian (Berkeley: University of California Press, 1919), 140-45. The trouble is that “no visible limit is set to wealth among men. Even now those among us who have the largest fortune are striving with redoubled energy.” Then Solon… strikes a familiar note: “Wealth comes to mortals by the gifts of the gods. But out of it comes madness, which leads to destruction when Zeus sends this madness as a punishment to men.

Thus we see liberals decrying the greed of capitalism while they hoard their cash, like Obama, refusing to come to the aid of their brothers in need. Thus we see the Hollywood set wallowing in their wealth and seeking to curry favor with the powerful in society by promoting socialism while, like Obama, refusing the share of the abundance with the truly downtrodden among us.

The economist Daniel Yergin, writing about the problem of poverty in society said this:

There is an increasing doubt [among economists] that anything at all can be done about anything; . . . if that wisdom is correct, then any “solutions” to poverty become far more difficult and painful; they cannot be financed out of a growth dividend, but only by redistributing what others already have, in turn creating massive social unrest [most utopians did that merely by suggesting such a move]. Before the 1974-1975 minidepression, all financial poverty could have been eliminated at a modest shift of $10-15 billion to the poor from the rest of the community. 15 billion is less than 1.5% of the GNP, about the size of one of the cheaper weapons systems.

Once again, we turn to Nibley – “Our society has gone out of the way not to do what could be done to solve the problem. Why? A community which can at tolerable expense eliminate human distress but refrains from doing so either must believe that it benefits from unemployment or poverty, or that the poor and unemployed are bad people, or that other more important values will be impaired by attempts to help the lower orders—or all of these statements.”

This is an incredible statement by Nibley. Read it again, carefully. Nibley maintains that our society, i.e., our legislators, have chosen not to solve the problem of poverty. Why? It is simple really. The liberal Democrats know that by purposely creating and enlarging a populace totally dependent on government entitlement programs they ensure their own continual political power. Think about it! The Democrats have purposely allowed poverty to expand in the United States simply in order to ensure that they remain in power! It is inconceivable, at best. The scope of the evil is unfathomable. Obama’s 2008 campaign slogan is a lie. The Democrats have no intention of allowing us to hope for change – for change would eliminate the need for Democratic control of society.

No other civilization has permitted the calculus of self-interest so to dominate its culture,” writes the eminent economist and historian Robert L. Heilbroner. “It has transmogrified greed and philistinism into social virtues, and subordinated all values to commercial values.” [See Leonard Silk’s New York Times book review of Robert L. Heilbroner, Business Civilization in Decline (New York: Norton, 1976 )] This is exactly what Thomas More said: “What has heretofore passed as unjust,.. they have turned upside down, and in fact proclaimed it publicly and by law to be nothing less than justice itself.”[Sir Thomas More, Utopia, 1:25] And that is exactly what Ivan Boesky proclaimed when he recently commended “healthy greed” as a high virtue to a college audience. [Mariann Caprino, “Healthy Greed Was Boesky’s Undoing,” reported in Salt Lake Tribune (20 November 1986): D9.] The complete inversion of the utopian ideal is reached when success itself becomes synonymous with money. And what is the end result? The old familiar pictures. A citizen of New York writes,

You have to be on the alert constantly to sense when somebody nearby is out of place, waiting, looking, ready to pounce. You have to clutch your handbag up close, ready to fight for it should that become necessary. You have to put three locks on your door, plus a burglarproof chain. You have to avoid the subways, night or day, and don’t smile at strangers on the bus. [Carolyn Lewis, “The Beasts in the Jungle,” Newsweek (19 January 1981): 8.]

Nibley conducted a great deal of research into the study of ancient utopias, Greek, Christian, Hebrew, Roman, and Coptic, etc. Read his conclusions, below, regarding the common elements found in those ancients who sought out utopia:

Here is what all the great utopians have in common:

  1. They were not losers with axes to grind but the most successful and respected men of their times.
  2. They were preeminently practical men of the world, with far more experience in leadership and organization than their critics.
  3. All attempted to implement the setting up of societies that they believed had existed among men in the past and would again in the future.
  4. Whether Jew, heathen, or Christian, all thought of their utopias as religious societies, and they preached both religious tolerance and the cultivation of faith.
  5. Yet all, in spite of all the great esteem in which they and their works were held, were persecuted by the powers that be, and few escaped violent death.
  6. All suffered disillusionment in their own day; their communities were either violently destroyed or went underground.
  7. They taught that the object of life was joy, and none of them either displayed or recommended stern puritanical judgments. Their utopias were… easygoing.
  8. The advantage of technology and its possibilities for bettering the human condition were first fully realized by the utopians.
  9. They all realized that joy is to be found only in the active mind—the glory of man is intelligence, and knowledge is the stuff on which the mind feeds.
  10. Science, art, scholarship, philosophy, literature were all cultivated together as the principal activity of the citizens. There is quite enough there to keep us all busy even without the urgent imperative of getting lunch. It is because of this that what appears to us as a disturbing uniformity in dress, housing, and so on, presents no problem but rather removes obstacles to the proper studies of mankind.
  11. The joy derived from the senses—beautiful surroundings and impressions—and from the vigorous exercise of our physical as well as our mental faculties is never neglected.
  12. Goods of “secondary intent” (Campanella uses the expression)—clothing, housing, food, medicaments, transportation, etc.—are essential to assist in carrying on the more serious work of the mind and body, but they never become primary, in other words, their own excuse for being, as is the case with us, where to make and market such goods fulfills the measure of one’s existence.
  13. Money and private property are the insuperable obstacles to the achievement of utopia. The two are inseparable because the idea that there is no limit to what money can represent is necessary to implement the equally outrageous idea that there is no limit to what an individual can own. The relationship is succinctly stated in a formula propounded by one of awesome authority in the very beginning, in the first utopia, where he cast the long, dark shadow ahead with those ominous words: “You can have anything in this world for money.”

Were all of these shrewd, experienced, and concerned observers being simplistic in unanimously tracing the root of all evil to money? Well, make a list of some of those evils that today as never before threaten the whole world with dissolution—drugs; pornography; terrorism; nuclear armaments; fraud; corruption; soldiers of fortune; corporate outrages; opportunistic preachers; pollution of air, water, food, and information; acid rain; extinction of species; and so on. Which of these does not have big money as the driving force behind it? The drive for power and gain is the soil in which they all flourish.

Reading Nibley’s works in-depth show that he is not against private ownership of property. What he is against is people accumulating more than what they need – thereby depriving the poor of what “they” need. What Nibley rails against is greed – a subject that goes to the very core of what Obama is about.

No society will ever solve the problem of poverty through government entitlement programs. The solution cannot be forced upon us by Obama’s dictatorial edict of the redistribution of wealth. The solution is a voluntary one. The solution must include teaching the poor how to become self-reliant. The solution must teach the self-reliant how to care for their families. The solution must teach those who care for their families to voluntarily reach out and extend helping hands to the down and out. The solution must be run with integrity, without guile, and without greediness.

Utopia cannot be achieved through the forced distribution of wealth. The answer lies in voluntary acts of love and mercy, tempered with the realization that man is meant to work for what he receives. This preserves the dignity of the poor and shows them the way to work towards becoming self-reliant. Men are meant to stand independent and strong.

By work we sustain and enrich life. It enables us to survive the disappointments and tragedies of the mortal experience. Hard-earned achievement brings a sense of self-worth. Work builds and refines character, creates beauty, and is the instrument of our service to one another and to God. A consecrated life is filled with work, sometimes repetitive, sometimes menial, sometimes unappreciated but always work that improves, orders, sustains, lifts, ministers, aspires. – D. Todd Christofferson

We will only solve the problem of poverty through the proper application of conservative principles. Liberalism only exacerbates the problem. Conservatism solves it. By consecrating our lives in service to our fellow men – lifting them up, comforting them, and teaching them to become self-reliant, we can solve the problem of poverty. This is why the election of 2012 is so important. Do we choose a continuation of the degrading communistic policies of Obama and the rest of the progressives, or do we choose to free ourselves from bondage and once free, extend our hands in kindness and lift the weary, downtrodden, and poor among us. The choice is ours. And we will live with the consequences of our national decision next year.

School Breakfasts = Less Family Time

When I was in elementary school, we got up early and our parents made us eat a good breakfast before school each day. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, we heard over and over again. Do your homework before you are allowed to go out to play, keep your room clean if you want your allowance, do your house chores or you will be grounded etc.  Rules, rules and more rules.   My Mother never backed down in taking on the personal responsibilities that come with raising a family. My Father departed this earth at an early age.  There was no bigger government welfare check coming in on the wings of a unicorn just because we were blessed with a family of six children. My mother raised all six children by herself  for an extended amount of time before she remarried, and she worked two and three jobs to keep food on the table for many of those years, yet never once did she stoop to taking handouts from the government that were taken from other hard working people in the form of taxes.  That is not how we were raised. You want something, children included, and you got off your rear ends and worked for it.

We brown-bagged our lunches, which many times contained the dreaded bologna sandwich which we all hated, but ate anyway, lest we go hungry. Mother always tried to make sure we had fruit and other healthy foods when possible, but sometimes we just had the plain old bologna sandwich. We sometimes had peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and lemme tell you, we considered ourselves to be the richest kids around when we saw the P B & J in ourlunch !  Imagine my disgust when I encountered the following announcement in a local newspaper about the breakfast and lunch for irresponsible parents in Pasco County, Florida. Keep in mind that a good percentage of these students are enrolled  in the “free” program. Of course it isn’t free to the taxpayers of this nation. Here is the menu for Pasco County Schools:

We are a self-funded department, using only federal funds, grants, and monies generated from the sale of school meals and catering to provide a nutritious, low cost school lunch and breakfast to Pasco County students.

Excuse me, but what part of self-funding includes the heavy dose of Federal tax money you admit to above ?  While the mission statement sounds great on paper it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see that this program needs to be looked into further here. Just what gives the school board the right to take breakfast time away from responsible families in order to further dig into tax funding that promotes less family time and  ignores personal responsibility? A further look at their web page mentioned above talks about things such as “summer feeding.”

Pasco County FNS offers breakfast, lunch, summer feeding, and after-school snacks programs to Pasco County students enrolled in public and charter schools, day cares, Headstart and Early Headstart programs, and infant feeding programs.  We also offer an Adult Meal Program for administrators and their staff, and cater meals for school-based functions.  We serve approximately 2.25 million student breakfasts and 6.2 million lunches annually. (emphasis mine)

After school snacks? Why not dinner too? Why send the children home at all, if irresponsible parents want the government to feed and raise their children ?

Under the school price menu above, how many of the students that qualify for the next to nothing cost of those meals are also receiving food stamps ?  Are there checks and oversight to ensure that an irresponsible parent(s) that doesn’t make the effort to properly feed their own children at home, has the equal amount deducted from their food stamp entitlement  to prevent them from being a double-dipping deadbeat on taxpayers wallets ?  I will tell you that the answer to that is no.  This is an extension of welfare benefits for largely irresponsible people that feel it is the job of the hard working people to support their irresponsibility. Breakfast, Lunch and summer meals when school is out ?

Meal time was a family bonding time in our house. Problems were discussed and dealt with together. Lessons were both taught and learned at the table. This instills family unity and teaches personal responsibility in helping to prepare the family meals and cleaning up afterward. It also helps build a substantial work ethic, that says if you want to eat, you will help prepare the meal and clean up afterwards, or at least it did in my upbringing.  Today,  the nanny-state welfare mentality is not only proving to be a big cause of America’s economic problems, but it is also enabling the destruction of our society’s family values, where children are no longer taught the value of a dollar, and the fact that you have to work for what you want out of life.

Yes indeed breakfast may still be the most important meal of the day for our children, but the true value of it comes from the family bonding and parental guidance we receive at the table, not just the nutrition. This is a start to their school-day,  so why not send them off  with the confidence and support that only a parent’s love can give.

The District School Board of Pasco County participates in the National School Lunch and Breakfast Programs.  Through these programs we offer free and reduced-price meals to students from families who meet certain income requirements determined by the U.S. Government. Each new school year all students that wish to participate in the free and reduced-priced meal program must submit a new free and reduced-price meal application. Students are qualified for free or reduced-price meals through three (3) different methods. The first method is through direct certification; the second is through students that are identified as a homeless or migrant student; and the third is through the free and reduced-price meal application process.

Qualification Methods

Direct Certification

This process involves a computer match of district students to information provided by the Department of Education, which marks students in families receiving Food Stamps, TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families), and FDPIR benefits as eligible for free meals at their school sites. If you qualify, you will receive written notification on approval.

Homeless, Migrant and Runaway Students

Students that are identified by the district as Homeless, Migrant, or Runaway are entitled to free meals at their school site. For Homeless, Migrant, and Runaway students to receive free meals, the district’s Homeless, Migrant, and Runaway Liaison must certify, sign and submit a listing of students that are recognized as homeless or migrant. Food and Nutrition Services District Office must keep the student list on file at the Food and Nutrition Services District Office. These students do not have to submit a meal application.

Who says there is no such thing as a “free lunch?”  It is all free for the non-tax paying career welfare families. It is just the fact that the working families carry the burden of supporting the irresponsible baby-makers which are the mainstay of career welfare families, which is  the disgusting part they don’t want you to know.  This FNS  “company” should be made to operate without any taxpayer funding. Waste, fraud and abuse are always rampant when you have a company that is half-private and half government-run. I am going to pursue the FNS salary structure, and see just what that turns up in the near future.

In Pasco County, Superintendent, Heather Fiorentino, makes $136,776 which leads a list of 15- hundred thousand dollar employees.
