Brandon Darby Exposes Negligence At DOJ In Handling Child Sex Slaves

Brandon Darby

Brandon Darby

Former left wing activist and Breitbart contributor Brandon Darby opined a disturbing column on July 30th detailing his efforts to get the FBI and the Department of Justice to act more diligently on child sex trafficking in the United States.  The findings point to outright negligence.

The column, which is featured in Townhall Magazine, is prefaced by the notion that this isn’t a hit piece.  It’s based on facts and from information ascertained by serious people who are in the FBI or work for them.  One of them being another FBI asset named Dottie Laster, who helped Darby in this investigation.

Darby states that problems with pursuing a full investigation into sex trafficking of minors partially rested with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).  They seem to have problems coordinating, which is a typical problem in government. In fact, as Darby found out, any law enforcement agency receiving federal funds was required to inform ICE of any investigation involving human trafficking. A point of fact rendered moot by ICE’s penchant to go solo on raids.

In all, “ICE has a very thin charter, and removing possible illegal aliens took priority over prosecutable cases. If ICE engaged in a raid too soon, the local agency investigating the possible human trafficking was left with little evidence for prosecutions and therefore wasted much needed dollars and work hours. The end result of this dynamic was human traffickers walking away with little consequence, free to continue their enterprise, and law enforcement agencies that shied away from launching such investigations.”

However, concerning the FBI, which Darby states is an apex law enforcement agency, they have the full authority to launch investigations without informing local law enforcement or ICE.  Thus, less red tape to get the job done and deliver these evildoers to justice right? Wrong.  To further complicate matters, the U.S. Attorneys’ Office often didn’t have the resources to properly tend to the victims needs.  These needs centered on basic amenities like food and shelter, hence, why most cases weren’t pursued by the Bureau. Darby pointed out that:

The FBI was dependent on the U.S. Attorneys’ Office to designate the victims as witnesses before resources were available to the victims. This dependence on the U.S. Attorneys’ Office for short-term and intermediate resources seemed to be the clog preventing freedom and safety for many trafficking victims based on my research and the FBI agents and assistant U.S. attorneys I [Darby] spoke with. Human traffickers often targeted illegal aliens who were already in the United States, or would kidnap and bring unwilling citizens from other countries across the United States’ porous border. Therefore, various types of visas would have to be made available for many victims if their testimony was needed to prosecute and neutralize the perpetrators of the slavery. However, other human trafficking victims were U.S. citizens who were either suffering from various addictions or were teenage runaways. Both Laster and I saw the same DOJ hesitancy to help in both groups.

Since food and shelter seemed to be at the heart of the hesitancy amongst the various agencies, Darby  “[reached] out to the now-deceased Andrew Breitbart. In short order, Breitbart, Catherine Engelbrecht of True the Vote, Hannah Giles and I created a nonprofit named Citizen Patriot Response to organize tea party groups to help communities and individuals in need without governmental funding and dependence.” Darby stated that this group wasn’t founded on the basis on human trafficking, but remains a critical issue.  As a result, he used his home as a place of refuge for the exploited.  Darby also began to work with a source within the FBI known as::

Special Agent X [who] began to dutifully examine the cases Laster and I presented…Laster and I presented dozens of cases to the FBI. Many of the cases involved minors who were being forced to have sex with adults for monetary reasons under the threat of violence from human traffickers. Special Agent X worked diligently to record our information and initiate investigations. Laster and I educated ourselves further on guidelines and protocols that the DOJ used in handling such cases. We felt assured by our research that it was a matter of law and a matter of internal policy that the FBI had to investigate and act on cases where minors were identified as being involved. All seemed well.

But the majority of the cases we worked on with Special Agent X never turned into investigations for the FBI—even the ones involving children that the FBI was mandated to act onSpecial Agent X was shipped to a different part of the United States and was forbidden to work on human trafficking issues any further, even though the guidelines had been followed. I was deactivated without cause (meaning in good standing). As of press time, the new special agent assigned to Laster returned her call but hasn’t communicated with her about the cases.

What an absolute disgrace.

RightOnline Rides High On Walker Win, Prepares for War

Attendees of RightOnline

Attendees of RightOnline

If there is a difference between Netroots Nation and RightOnline, besides political leanings, it’s that the enthusiasm amongst the bloggers and activists present was high.  Fresh off the Wisconsin Recall win, the feeling of victory in November was palpable.  The kick-off morning session at RightOnline last Saturday in Las Vegas started with Luke Hilgemann, state director for AFP’s Wisconsin Chapter, who reiterated the facts about Walker’s reforms.  Reforms that  reduced property taxes in the state for the first time in twelve years.  In fact, the average Wisconsinite saved $700 on their property taxes thanks to Governor Walker.  Furthermore, the governor took a $3.6 billion dollar deficit and turned that into a $154 million dollar surplus without raising taxes, laying off workers, or disrupting the delivery of key state services.

Instead of labeling and smearing Walker’s agenda, like the political left has done, AFP and other organizations disseminated the accomplishments of the reforms.  Showing the positive changes towards the state’s economy, which saw the creation 33,000 new jobs and the unemployment rate dropping to 6.7%.  The state is seeing a return of its economic vigor thanks to Walker’s conservative reforms that has returned Wisconsin  on a track to fiscal sanity.   News that was warmly greeted by the audience.

Guy Benson, political commentator and News Editor at Townhall, gave an astute (and at times comical) history of the various failures the left and Wisconsin Democrats experienced in their efforts to derail the Walker agenda.  It started with Senate Democrats fleeing the state for avoid a quorum, therefore, blocking the bill.  It was passed after Senate Republicans removed the expenditure language, therefore, bypassing the quorum.  The Left tried to oust Justice David Prosser of the Wisconsin Supreme Court, who is seen as part of the conservative bloc on the seven member court, but failed.  Then they decided to recall six Senate Republicans in August of 2011, which ended with Republicans keeping the majority at the end of the day.  In short, it was an appropriate anecdote to describe   how conservatives are winning in the political battles at the heart of this presidential election.  Furthermore, it is being won in a concerted effort spearheaded by the common people.  A point Benson drove home.

However, as the economy continues to stagnate, despair and frustration are easy characteristics to exude.  There is no doubt that some attendees had experienced or knew a loved that has lost his or her job in the recent months.  However, Hugh Hewitt, who spoke after Benson, reminded people in the audience, (namely the baby-boomers) that this isn’t the first time we’ve experienced such hopelessness.  He stated how 1978, 1979, and 1980 were dismal years for America’s place on the world stage.  However, Ronald Reagan came along, reversed the geopolitical mess left by the Carter administration, and re-invigorated a stagnated American economy.

Just as it was thirty-two years ago, out nation’s future is on the line.  He reiterated the fact that everyone here, and those who participate in this online movement, matter a great deal.  Hewitt detailed how conservatives compliment, not compete, with each other and how we must band together and promote each other to drive, or change, the narrative peddled by the progressive left.  “We are each other’s best advocate” and it’s our duty to bring more “Breitbarts,” like Sen. Marco Rubio, Sen. Kelly Ayotte, Mitt Romney, and Ted Cruz into the fold and “help them get here!”

He pointed out how conservatives, at times, overestimate the threat.  He described how many perceived the unions descending on Madison as an invincible army.  However, Hewitt stated that the media, Occupy Wall Street, and the progressive online networks are pretty much papier-mache and  stated that “boy is it raining right now and that’s a very good thing” concerning their incremental diminishing of power in our political discourse. What’s so great about the online movement and new media, Hewitt says, is that anyone can be Breitbart, Malkin, or Reynolds.  From the ten year veteran blogger to the forty-eight hour one, each day is new day online. Let’s get to work!

Netroots Blues

Netroots Nation

Netroots Nation, the annual left wing gathering of activists and bloggers, concluded this weekend with a lukewarm response from its attendants.  To say it was lackluster would be generous.  In the wake of the conservative victory in the Wisconsin Recall election, where Scott Walker, the only governor to survive a recall effort, handily beat Democratic Mayor of Milwaukee Tom Barrett, hopes ran low.  According to John Fund, who wrote in National Review, “enthusiasm for Obama was decidedly absent from this year’s gathering. Administration officials weren’t invited to attend (Valerie Jarrett and others have appeared in the past), and President Obama limited his role to an unpublicized surprise video shown to delegates late on Saturday, when many people had already left. Change is hard, but we’ve seen that it’s possible, as long as you’re willing to keep up that fight, I’ll be right there with you, Obama offered. Not exactly a stirring call to arms, and the tepid applause his video garnered can’t have pleased Team Obama.”

Van Jones gave a “rousing” speech demonizing conservatives, but what was I found most amusing was the panel discussion Fund wrote about concerning DINO (Democrat In Name Only) activities.  The panel called “When Democrats Aren’t Democrats: The Story of Rhode Island.  Kate Brown, the executive director of the liberal group Ocean State Action, warned that progressives are in a minority on a lot of issues” they care about, including gay marriage, expanding abortion rights, raising tax rates, and even implementing Obamacare. “We cut tax rates for the wealthy,” she asserted. “So when they tell us there’s no money [for programs], they are lying! There’s lots of money.”  So much that we’re $15 trillion dollars in debt, we’re nearly $60 trillion dollars in the hole with the unfunded liabilities for our entitlement programs, and soaking the rich has been consistently debunked as a viable economic policy.

It’s not the messaging that sucks, it’s the political left that sucks. Gov. Scott Walker is an exemplar of a committed leader who is pushing his state towards fiscal health and economic vitality.  He is the personification of a principled conservative. As a result, he beat Barrett and garnered more votes than he did in the 2010 gubernatorial election.  The recent recall saw the highest turnout ever for a gubernatorial race in Wisconsin history that ended in the repudiation of left-wing economic policies. The types of policies espoused by Ms. Brown and other progressives on the left.  One must ask if liberals are taking notice to the cries of  “hell no” from the American electorate concerning their socio-ecnomic agenda.

Well, if you’ve seen the post-recall footage, you have far left activists convinced they didn’t lose.  In fact, the state director for the Obama campaign, Tripp Wellde stated:

While tonight’s outcome was not what we had hoped for – no one can dispute the strong message sent to Governor Walker. Hundreds of thousands of Wisconsinites from all walks of life took a stand against the politics of division and against the flood of secret and corporate money spent on behalf of Scott Walker, which amounted to a massive spending gap of more than $31 million to $4 million…it is a testament to all of those individuals who talked to their friends, neighbors, and colleagues about the stakes in this election of how close this contest was. The power of Wisconsin’s progressive, grassroots tradition was clearly on display throughout the run up to this election and we will continue to work together to ensure a brighter future for Wisconsin’s middle class.

This would be meaningful if Barrett HAD WON!

Then, there is the inimitable Howard Dean.

(H/T Guy Benson)

Whether the liberals want to admit it or not, their entire agenda is crumbling.  To combat the stinging defeat of their policies that were soundly rejected by voters of a swing state, they must be increasing their daily intake of Soma, which has to be responsible for the delusional remarks above.  However, I’ve heard when your coming down from the proggie high, the sense of hopelessness can be palpable.  Hence, the Netroots blues exhibited last weekend.  My advice to the left is stay home and let us do the governing for a bit.

Right Online 2012

Congressional Fear Factor

Have you noticed how the politicians are running and hiding like cockroaches when you turn the light on in a public restroom? What has them so scared? The answer, my friends is, WE THE PEOPLE are the ones that have them running to hide!

While on break, members of congress are holding far less town hall meetings compared to just a few years ago. Almost 70% of Democrats and half of Republicans are not holding town halls. One might assume they are quite possibly a bit afraid of facing the people they represent. We The People- the taxpayers of this great country, who have allowed each one of these elected “leaders” to represent us.

Could it be that they know they have not done the job they were hired to do? Could it be they have had a brief moment of clarity and realize they are going to have to answer for the fact that they have continued to reach into the pockets of the citizens of this nation to finance endeavors despite that fact that they were explicitly told no?  They know they have backed programs that destroy private sector jobs and made government larger. They know We The People DEMANDED that the “usual way of doing things in Washington” had to stop!

They may think they can avoid us and get by without paying the toll they owe, but we have news for them:

“You will pay the piper when your reelection comes!”

It would serve each of them well to remember what happened to Arlen Specter in 2009 when he held a town hall meeting and was taken to the mat by citizens over the health care “reform”.  Specter’s town hall meeting was not the only town hall meeting that drew harsh criticism from constituents on the health care issue. Many politicians felt the wrath of the common American citizen as they faced the people that elected them to be their voice in Washington.

This is just one of the issues that we must remember when it comes election time. If they vote against the people’s will, then have the audacity to try to avoid us, then it is time we hand them their pink slip and make them listen.

Crashing Obama’s Town Hall

How do you “crash” a town hall style meeting? You take a page from Obama’s playbook and do it on Twitter and have the questions “culled” out. Silly me, I was always under the impression that the town hall meeting is about everyone getting to voice their opinions and concerns.

Obama, being the socialist coward that he is, tried to pull off a “town hall meeting” on Twitter. Obama figured if he hid behind the teleprompters and monitors he wouldn’t be faced with or have to answer the hard questions. Enter the Republicans. It is reported that Republicans jumped at the chance and flooded the venue with those afore mentioned questions. There were many Republican members of congress that tried to get our questions answered but only one made it past the ones “culling” out questions.  The one question that made it to Obama was one from none other than House Speaker John Boehner.

John Boehner asked, “After embarking on a record spending binge that left us deeper in debt, where are the jobs?”

Obama replied with a chuckle and said Boehner’s question was “slightly skewed”.

SKEWED? How is that simple question skewed? A sitting president in what many see as the worst economic times since the Great Depression will not answer that simple question that is on many of American minds. The refusal to answer Boehner’s question proves once again that Obama and his administration are way out of touch with the American people.

While many Americans struggle to stay in their homes or to even keep food on the table to feed their families Obama and his family have been jet setting around the world apologizing and kissing the feet of people that would like to see this great nation fold. Obama never has shifted from campaign mode to business mode since winning the election. I will admit he can take a mound of manure and paint a pretty picture with it in his speeches, but now is not the time for speeches, it is time to fix our economy.

During Obamas run for president he used Facebook with great efficiency as a weapon against the Republican candidate. Social media was key in attaining the younger vote to win the election. We know his playbook, now we just have to be aware when he renames each play.

For Obama’s socialist agenda to succeed our economy must be weak enough that government can start taking over the private sector. He has already started the process with General Motors; we cannot afford to let them take over any more.

If taking back our country requires us to “crash” every event held for Obama then that is what we must do. WAKE UP AND STAND UP AMERICA! Now could be the last chance to save this great nation!

Allen West Townhall Interrupted- See the Left’s Plans for this Summer in Action

Recently, Unions and assorted leftist groups have been spreading word on how they plan to “protest” town-hall meetings and anything Republican or Conservative in nature. These people do not want to ask questions and then give someone a chance to answer as we see in the following video. These astroturf puppets have been given a set of things to scream at people with no knowledge of whether it is actually true. Interruption is the game, no matter how foolish they look in doing it. Take for instance the now jailed star of the latest lesson in the leftists civil discourse of today, one former Radio host of the now defunct Liberal Air America radio network, Nicole Sandler. She is the one being led away in handcuffs for the nasty rhetoric and rudeness displayed here that the left now deems the new civil discourse in America.

All of a sudden this nasty, vile, mouthpiece of the left tries to convince everyone that all she wanted was Allen West to answer her questions.(after the handcuffs are slapped on her) Is she so ignorant as to not understand that her and her cohorts are all on video tape screaming nonsense and lies just to interrupt Allen West ? It is all right there for all of America to see. Take note of the biggest lie the leftists are trying to infect America with today: ” Republicans budget plan will take away Seniors Medicare.” Anyone with an ounce of education can read Paul Ryan’s budget plan and see that it in fact, preserves medicare for future generations of Americans and doesn’t take it away from anyone. Medicare cannot continue as it now stands. Changes have to be made, yet everywhere we turn this lie is being repeated over and over, especially by the leftist media puppets. Now we shall see the leftist media puppets try to spin this nasty, uncivil incident perpetuated by a group of leftists at the West town-hall as some kind of  denial of free speech.

Town-hall style meetings are supposed to be about having a discussion about the issues the public is concerned about, not screaming nonsense and lies with the only goal being to shut down the town-hall and not let the representative talk. This is the plan of the left for this summer. They know real Americans are fed up with trillion dollars deficits and anti-American Liberal ideology. The left is desperate, just watch them here. Watch the video and listen to the new civil discourse of the left on full display here. We the people, just as Allen West says during this vile display, will not be intimidated by a loudmouthed minority from the left posing as concerned citizens. They are only fooling themselves. Share this information with everyone you know today, show them exactly what the  Obama supporters and political operatives of the left’s new civil discourse looks like. Then remember this little episode when you go to the polls in 2012. These people are against everything American, especially prosperity and freedom from an overbearing Government. I certainly know which side I will be on come Nov. 2012, and will vote against these anti-Americans every chance I get.

Allen West vs. CAIR Round 2

Rep. Allen West held a town-hall meeting last night in Florida, and once again a representative from CAIR showed up with their standard leftist talking points disguised as questions. If  you missed the beginning of this ideological battle between LCT West and CAIR you can see it here. In keeping with CAIR’s leftist tactics of trying to discredit/ marginalise a true American Patriot such as 22-year military vet Rep. Allen West, we see that West does not back down an inch from the truth being told. This man has been there and done that, he has seen firsthand the dangers and oppression inherent in the Radical Ideology and no one is going to *blow smoke up his butt* and tell him otherwise.

Recently, a bus in Israel was blown up, one woman killed and many more injured by the so-called religion of peace. The Fogel family was murdered and a 3-year old baby had his throat slit by these same fanatics operating under the guidelines of Jihadist war against non-Muslims that is outlined in the Koran. CAIR can send every leftist-talking-point propagandist they have in their arsenal at West, but this true Patriot Warrior will never back down. Hold your ground Colonel, we have your back. In the meantime, tighten up your security, and keep your M1911 .45 handy, as these people do not like being exposed by infidels who will not bend to their will.  America needs true leadership, so watch your back please.

After being made complete fools of in their first encounter with Col. West, one would think CAIR would have learned from that tactical mistake, but no, in keeping with the leftist tactics of trying to discredit anyone with an opposite view, they sentanother misguided puppet of Islam to do try to engage in a battle of  will against Col. West once again last night. The results were quite the same, as we saw in round one of this battle of attrition, in the above linked video. Here is the West vs CAIR puppets round 2 video:

With true Patriotic Americans such as Rep. Allen West fighting for America, it certainly does look like we are Winning the Future for all Americans.

Florida News Reports 3/17/2011

There is a lot happening on the Florida political scene this week, so I decided to draw up a summary news recap to keep our Florida readers informed today. First off, it appears Governor Rick Scott’s new policies are starting to gain definition and traction in the Florida State legislature. On Weds. March 16th, Governor Scott thanked Florida legislators for passing Senate bill 736, the Student Success Act. After passage of the act, Senate President Mike Haridopolos released the following statement on the House passing Senate Bill 736 – the Student Success Act:

“Today is an historic day with the House of Representatives passage of the Student Success Act. The legislation is a keystone in Florida’s efforts to provide quality education in our classrooms.  While the legislation rewards outstanding teachers and reforms the state’s instructional workforce, the real winners are Florida’s students.”

“The bill (SB 736), which ties public school teacher evaluations and pay raises to student performance on standardized tests, passed the House, 80-39, Wednesday along party lines with Republicans in favor. The measure had passed the Republican-dominated Senate, and now speeds to Gov. Rick Scott’s desk. Scott has said he will sign it into law.”

This is great news for all Floridans and their children. In related news, The Florida Education Association is thinking about filing a lawsuit to try to stop the bill.  So much for actually caring about the children, they would rather line their pockets further with tax dollars going for ineffective teachers, right FEA ?  Maybe it is high time parents called for the disbanding of the FEA, if they go forward with that nonsensical lawsuit.

Governor Scott has already signed several executive orders since taking office, including the following:

Executive Order No. 11-01 freezes all new regulations and establishes the Office of Fiscal Accountability and Regulatory Reform, which will review all rules prior to promulgation as well as agency practices and contracts.

  • Immediately suspends rule-making for all agencies under the direction of the Governor.
  • Establishes the Office of Fiscal Accountability and Regulatory Reform to review all rules (including those suspended by the Order) prior to promulgation and to review agency practices and contracts.
  • Imposes 90-day suspension on execution of any contracts with a value in excess of $1 million, without prior approval from the Office.
  • Prohibits agencies from promulgating rules unless they obtain prior approval from the Office.

Executive Order No. 11-02 requires state agencies to use the E-Verify system verify employment eligibility of state employees and contractors.

  • All state agencies under the direction of the Governor must use E-Verify system to check employment eligibility of their current and prospective employees.
  • Requires state agencies under the direction of the Governor to include in all state contracts a requirement that contractors utilize the E-Verify system to verify the employment eligibility of:
    • all persons employed during the contract term by the contractor to perform employment duties within Florida; and
    • all persons (including subcontractors) assigned by the contractor to perform work pursuant to the contract with the state agency. Executive Order No. 11-03 establishes the Governor’s policy on ethics and open government.
      • Orders the adoption and implementation of a revised, stronger, code of ethics in the Governor’s office, and directs agencies under the direction of the Governor to revise their codes of ethics accordingly.
      • Recognizes work of 19th Statewide Grand Jury and directs Governor’s Special Counsel and Chief Ethics Officer to review their Report and recommend a plan for implementation of all or certain, as advisable, of the Grand Jury Recommendations.
      • Reaffirms commitment to Office of Open Government and calls for establishment of new Web site providing access to accountability information.

Personally, I would like to see E-Verify become federally mandated acroos the entire country, in both the private sector and public sector, which is why it was created in the first place. Match SS numbers with people before hiring, renting apartments or houses, and also especially before handing out the nanny-state welfare benefits our nation is becoming famous for today. NO WIC, no welfare, no rent subsidies, no college grants, no nothing unless you prove you are am American citizen who actually deserves the help from the American taxpayer.

Executive Order No. 11-04 reaffirms the Governor’s commitment to diversity in government.

  • Reaffirms prohibition on discrimination in employment based on race, gender, creed, color, or national origin, and affirms commitment to hiring, retaining and promoting the highest quality candidates regardless of the above.
  • Reaffirms policy of non-discrimination in state contracting without regard for race, gender, creed, color, or national origin.

This one sounds like it could be used against the reverse discrimination, race based hiring practices to allow people to hire the most qualified individuals based on experience and education, which is also supposed to be a federal law, yet today we see it isn’t enforced fairly.  See Eric Holder’s mandating that the city of Dayton, Ohio lower qualifying test scores for black policemen and firefighters to be given jobs over people who actually passed the real tests. That, my friends is reverse discrimination, and there needs to be a few thousand multi-billion dollar lawsuits brought against these types of actions, to show the race-based thugs that it won’t be tolerated. Clear enough Mr. Holder?

Special congratulations go out to the citizens of Miami-Dade who voted to recall another big tax and spender, Mayor Alvarez who turned out to be another RINO who didn’t get the 2010 election message of smaller government, less taxes and more accountability. Good work by my friends across the State, and you should be very proud to be able to call yourselves true Conservatives, as you certainly earned that title here. The Shark Tank summed this lesson up quite well in this post.

Progressives Take-Up "Town-Halling" Against Obamacare

During the times of tall sailing ships and pirates, a punishment was used that basically drug the offender under the length of the ship.  This practice was known as keel-hauling and I believe that Democrats may prefer this to what they are experiencing today – town-halling.

During the push to pass health care reform in 2009, Democrats held town halls.  Those against the health care reform were angry and outspoken.  These town-hallings became so prevalent that Democrats cancelled their town halls and settled only for tightly-controlled situations.  Roll forward to now…

Today, Nancy Pelosi was speaking at one of those tightly-controlled speeches in an attempt to sell the health care reform message.  First, selling the reform to people who supposedly support it seems odd.  Then again, the crowd, attendees of a progressive conference, started yelling, “”Our homes, not nursing homes!” just as Pelosi started to speak.  What happened?  Nancy got town-halled .. by progressives.

Will their now be another heart-felt speech about Harvey Milk and how scared she is?  Will their be concern over the rhetoric from the likes of Chris Mathews or Obama and how they might be leading progressives to violence? Will there be a call for calm from the radicals of the left?  Of course not.

Now apparently, Nancy didn’t get the memo.  Tim Ryan (D-Ohio) cancelled his health care reform-selling town hall back in March due to concern for his security.  Others were refraining from scheduling them at all and blamed it on Republicans for creating a feeding frenzy among tea party protesters.  Has the GOP now started activating it’s secret network of MoveOn.org agents?

No, this is what happens as Americans finally see what’s in the bill after it’s passed – and they’re angry.  Citizens from all over the political spectrum are now realizing that they had been lied to.  Not just mislead, but outright lied to.

Politico.com reported that the law will negatively impact more than a million low-income workers as soon as September.

Under the provision, insurance companies will no longer be able to apply broad annual caps on the amount of money they pay out on health policies. Employer groups say the ban could essentially wipe out a niche insurance market that many part-time workers and retail and restaurant employees have come to rely on.

I worked as a bus boy, waiter, bartender, shelf-stocker and there is no way I could have afforded the full-fledged plans that the government is now requiring.  Isn’t this the group Obama promised the reform would help?  Now their employers will only be allowed to offer too-expensive government-approved plans.  When they cannot afford it.. well, short term.. it’s just tough luck.  In 2014 (only 3.5 short years away), they’ll be able to get government assistance to help them pay for a plan off of the state-run exchanges that they will still probably not be able to afford.   Obamacare will relieve these working Americans of the health plans – you know, the ones they could keep if they liked them?

The leader of the progressive left, President Obama, even attempted a town hall today.  To keep his audience calm he could have just given the commencement speech he used to lull a student to sleep, but he chose to just pay them off – $250.00.  Obama centered the rally around the $250.00 Medicare rebates that many seniors will be receiving soon.  Obama used fear tactics, calling the GOP’s repeal movement and attempt to, “roll back” rebates and benefits.  The imagery is amazing – Obama gives you a check for $250.00 and tells you that the GOP will take it back from you if you let them.  Which side is using harmful rhetoric?

The President didn’t stop with the promise of extra cash from the public treasury.  He went on to re-promise what we already know is not true.

“What you need to know is that the guaranteed Medicare benefits that you’ve earned will not change,” he said. “If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor.”

As I posted, some Doctors are already ceasing to accept new Medicare patients and others are dropping Medicare patients they currently serve – due to the new legislation.  Is Obama assuming that anyone that loses their doctor due to these changes must not have liked them anyway?

Of course the speech-giver-in-chief continued to talk about the doc-fix that is intended to fix the concerns of those Medicare patients, temporarily, but he failed to mention that it comes at a cost that will make his plan actually increase the deficit – one broken promise at a time please.

Town-hallings will only be less-prevalent if Democrats stay out of the public light.  Now that Americans are seeing what so many tried to warn them about before the health care reform was passed, they are mad.. and they aren’t going to take it anymore.
