Dartboard Vetting

If you aren’t furious, you aren’t paying attention. In case you’ve missed it, your money has been the fodder for some of the most poorly vetted investments ever, and not by Wall Street or the banking industry.

Thanks in part to this article by Doug Stewart ( @dmatthewstewart on Twitter) and further conversation on the growing list of failed Green energy investment projects during a recent interview , I have become completely convinced that vetting, if any, for funding potential Green energy products was performed by a few guys eating pizza and throwing darts at applications taped to the wall.

While not the first project to fail miserably, even after an injection of stimulus funding, Solyndra is probably the the poster child for failed vetting and cronyism, that are apparantly the norm for deciding where to spend taxpayer dollars. Add in Shepherds Flat ( which, we don’t even *need* to fund since GE HAS the capital!) , SunPower’s PAC action win , the EPA approved TR Auto Truck Plaza mess, The failed job delivery and inanity of the Fisker Motors investment, the likely march of the Chevy Volt into both fiscal and progressive failure, and the likelihood that Doug is correct about Alstom, and you have a laundry list of failures that exceeds anything that can be pinned on the private sector. Each of these investments inherently contained an easily verifiable history of risk that should have been a red flag for any review panel, if they had bothered to check into them at all ( or hadn’t been told to ignore the flags) I’d be willing to bet that the woodwork is crawling with plenty more evidence of the complete waste of taxpayer money due to non-existent vetting processes.

Johnathan Silver, the Energy Department’s loan program director, has stepped down, most certainly as a sacrifice to the indignant, but there needs to be full on public rage at this outright failure and deception by our government to even attempt responsibility with our economy. Silver’s resignation is an appeasement offering, and I am not appeased. It’s time to take the dartboard away and for us to get more involved in keeping an eye on our money. I have an idea of a replacement past-time..

Green Jobs Training Programs Short Of Goals

Green proponents expound: Green careers may hold the key to energy independence, so a trained and knowledgeable green workforce is important. Green training programs are essential to a green economy. So, with that concept in mind, let’s see just how many green jobs training programs are available, and how well green jobs training programs are doing.

Green Jobs Training Programs

The United States Renewable Energy Programs offers a "one stop" source for green jobs, green training, schools that offer green programs of study, and Renewable Energy Programs for (almost) every country in the western hemisphere above the equator. The North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) is one such training program. The International Ground Source Heat Pump Association (IGSHPA) is another source of green training. The state of California has gotten in on green jobs training with the Clean Energy Workforce Training Program (CEWTP). Did you know that there is even a standard that the U.S. Green Building Council has developed: Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED)?

Green Jobs Training Programs Grants

Speaking in Memphis, Tennessee, U.S. Secretary of Labor Hilda L. Solis announced the availability of grants designed to prepare people for jobs in energy efficiency or renewable energy industries. Grant competitions opened today for $500 million in Recovery Act funds for training programs that will help retool the U.S. workforce for a clean energy economy. "This is a huge victory," Green for All founder Van Jones said in interviews and in his blog in February when Congress passed the final version of the Recovery Act. BTW, that is the same Van Jones who was Obama’s green jobs czar and a self-proclaimed communist. Can anyone say "conflict of interest?"

The Department of Labor

The Department of Labor (DOL) has some rather disturbing facts about green jobs training programs, which were also recipients of large amounts of stimulus money.

The DOL, Employment and Training Administration (ETA), awarded money under different types of competitive grant programs to (1) train and prepare individuals for careers in "green jobs," and (2) collect, analyze, and disseminate labor market information. Of the $500 million provided, ETA retained $9.9 million for services such as program administration and technical assistance, and awarded $490.1 million as follows: $435.4 million for three training programs, $48.9 million for labor market information, and $5.8 million to develop capacity for training programs. Grantees have reported expending $162.8 million (33 percent) of the amounts awarded, with about 73 percent of the grant time having elapsed. As of June 30, 2011, $327.3 million remained unexpended. The rate of training grant expenditures for the most recent period has decreased.

Did you get that? $435.4 million for three training programs, of which $327.3 million remain unexpended. Our tax dollars at work. (yes, sarcasm turned to max setting)

ETA has reported limited success for serving and placing workers. Grantees have reported serving 52,762 (42 percent) of the targeted 124,893 participants, reported placing 8,035 participants (10 percent) into employment out of the target of 79,854 participants, with 61 percent of training grant periods having elapsed.

"Grantees have expressed concerns that jobs have not materialized and that job placements have been fewer than expected for this point in the grant program," said Assistant Inspector General Elliott Lewis.

How Are Green Jobs Training Programs Doing and How Are Trainees Doing?

A DOL report said the low placement rate of green jobs trainees makes it unlikely the program will meet the goal of placing nearly 80,000 workers in careers in energy efficiency or renewable energy by 2013. $500 million for green jobs training was part of the $787 billion stimulus act passed in 2009. Although the money was awarded in a series of grants in 2009 and 2010, only one-third has actually been spent. Another problem the report highlighted is that workers who completed training and were placed in green jobs have had trouble retaining their posts. Of the 8,035 workers placed, only 1,336 trainees, 2 percent of the overall target, have held those jobs for at least six months. But DOL officials insisted that green jobs are part of a future wave of growing employment needs and that it would be a mistake not to invest in training workers for those jobs.

Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) said the report "paints a pretty bleak picture of the program’s effectiveness in job creation." He continued, "It’s hard to see how leaving $300 million in unused funding for the program in the hands of the Labor Department benefits either the taxpayers or the unemployed."

But that’s just my opinion.

Obama; The Fairy Tale

The setting is a major hospital in a large U.S. city. Specifically, the setting is in the hospital’s gastro-intestinal department. Imagine yourself laying on a gurney, clothed only in one of those stupid hospital gowns that are purposely designed to lay bare your backside for all to see. But wait, there’s more! You have a NasoGastric tube shoved up your nose, down your throat, over the river and through the wood to grandfather’s house it goes, all the way to your stomach. There you are, laying on your left side, with that damn NG tube forced down your gullet like undercooked turkey on Thanksgiving Day. Your butt is hanging out for all the nurses to ogle and your ulcer is acting up something fierce. It should; the gastroenterologist stabbed you with a syringe several minutes ago and squirted some type of infernal liquid into your veins for the express purpose of forcing your stomach, ulcer and all, to secrete all the acid it can possibly produce. Can you say “feeling crappy?” Oh, and one more thing—they’re sucking all of the acid out of your stomach through that damn tube so they can measure just how much that tummy is putting out. Sheesh, some people’s hobbies!

Anyway, there you are in total misery when you hear a physician on the other side of the curtain engaging in some delicate plumbing work on an old dude who is in worse shape than you are. The old geezer pleads with the doctor to get it over quick. “How much further, doc?” moans the old man as Doctor Obama stuffs an oversize tube up the geezer’s back door. Despite your own misery you find yourself enmeshed in the soap opera. You indeed are paying attention to the man on the other side of the curtain. “Oh, just about six feet!” responds Dr. Obama as he shoves that hose right up the guy’s ass.

That’s us, folks. Dr. Obama isn’t done with us yet. In fact, Barry the Barium Enema Queen is just getting started on shoving his communist ideology up our backsides. In fact, tomorrow, Monday, September 19th, Comrade Obama will announce a deficit reduction plan rumored to be at least $2 trillion. Yeah, right, doc. Obama’s NEW plan…Tax and Spend. Now that’s innovative. Let me guess, Barry Obama is going to focus like a laser on jobs (especially his own) and come up with his cute little deficit plan that is little more than an excuse to raise taxes. Tax the rich! Tax the rich! And your little dog, too!

The wolf, formerly known as Barry, wants to eat the rich girl but is afraid to do so in public. He approaches Little Red Riding Millionaire and she naïvely tells him where she is going to stash her cash. He suggests the rich girl pick some US-backed securities, which she does. In the meantime, he goes to the rich girl’s bank accounts and gains entry by pretending to be the rich girl. He swallows the account balances whole, and waits for the rich girl, disguised as a certificate of deposit.

When the rich girl arrives, she notices the certificate of deposit looks very strange to be in her portfolio. Little Red Riding Millionaire then says, “What big interest rates you have!” Then Little Red Riding Millionaire says, “My, what big automatic renewal terms you have!” To which Wolf Barry replies, “The better to eat you with a penalty for early withdrawal,” and swallows her principal whole, too.

A conservative auditor, however, comes to the rescue and cuts Wolf Barry’s scheme open by noticing that the automatic rollover grace period is still open. Little Red Riding Millionaire and her poor fellow citizens emerge unscathed from four years of White House Hell. They fill Wolf Barry’s debt reduction scheme with IOUs from Chicago, which aren’t worth the paper they are printed on. Wolf Barry awakens to the sound of lobsters eating him alive—Turnabout’s fair play.

We don’t really know the ending to this fairy tale but one thing is for certain. Obama isn’t going to go down easy. Instead of truly cutting spending he is simply going to seek higher taxes. This time around he is demanding a minimum tax rate for millionaires. Can you say “redistribution of wealth?” Furthermore, Obama is demanding that corporate loopholes be closed and that tax subsidies to oil and gas companies be eliminated. Oh, and then there is that pesky deduction for charitable contributions that needs to be eliminated. Now we can’t have people voluntarily helping the poor and needy, can we? That wouldn’t be fair! Fair is when the government forcibly takes your money, just like Wolf Obama swallowed those bank accounts. Fair is when the government decides what to do with your money, and you can bet it isn’t going to benefit you. More likely it is going to pay for a new strip club for hookers in the Bronx.

Well, at least Barry is going to actually introduce legislation to Congress. He’s finally got a Bill in his hands… pervert—which will lead Hillary to ask her sometimes wayward husband, “Did you see the stimulus, Bill?” To which Bill Clinton, ever the diplomat and elder statesman of the Democratic party, will respond to Hillary’s question about Obama’s lack of fiscal discipline by saying “He will start out with… the dog ate my stimulus!” Which begs the question, is BHO short for butthole? Yes, I do believe it is! Why, because Obama’s stimulus is nothing more than quantitative looting. Get your hands out of my pockets, Democrats. I can stimulate myself, thank you. Wow! Did I really say THAT?

In Obama we trusted and now we are busted. Too bad Obama didn’t come with a good supply of barf bags. Barack Obama, the man of a Thousand Excuses. What would you get if you crossed a Jackass with Barack Obama? Barack Obama. Does Shepherd Smith watch his flocks by night? I don’t know, but we better keep a sharp lookout for what Obama has planned for us at the next full moon. Meanwhile, we could always head down to Wall Street and the liberals’ Day of Rage campsite. Bring out the fire trucks! Nothing like washing a maggot infested hippie down the sidewalk!

So, in conclusion, please remember the parable of the tube up our collective butts. Obama still has about six feet left to go. It ain’t over till Michelle (James Brown in a gown!) starts singing and that isn’t going to be until January 20, 2013. Even then we are going to have to go through an extended period of financial retrenchment in order to recover from Barry’s Barium enema. And through it all the liberals won’t have an ounce of regret for what they have done to this country. Being liberal means never having to say you’re responsible.

Do you ever get the feeling that we have demons in the White House? Is it possible that the pastor was performing an exorcism and Obama came out of someone else?

Keep the faith, America. We are going to get through this and emerge stronger for having gone through this trial. Remember where you stand in relation to Obama. As for myself, in the ongoing battle between Barack and everybody else, I stand firmly on the side of everybody else.

You see, Barry, there are sinkers, and there are floaters. You’re a sinker.

House Republicans Pass Highway (to Hell) Bill by Voice Vote

Yesterday, Sept. 14, 2011 should be marked as an eye-opening day of revelation for conservative voters across the nation that handed the U.S. House of Representatives to the GOP in the historic 2010 elections. Why should this day be such an eye-opener? Well, this is the day that Republicans used the Liberal trickery that we have seen for the past 5 years to pass a critical leglislative spending bill by voice vote.

First of all, they quietly passed the bill by voice vote. This is the gimmickry that politicians use when they want to deny grassroots watchdog groups the ability to hold representatives accountable for their votes on such critical issues as highway funding. Speaker Boehner will have a hell of a lot of explaining to do when the media gets ahold of this information. This all started when House Majority Leader (and Boehner confidant/apprentice) Eric Cantor announced that the House GOP would not use the looming short-term C.R.spending bill to continue the fight with Democrats over spending levels.  So the people handed the GOP a majority in the House, which is supposed to control the taxpayers purse by the way, and instead will go along with increased spending levels dictated by the “grand bargain” known as the debt deal. This intial capitulation was noted over at Roll Call here, in which we see Cantor brush off the very folks who put him and Boehner in control of the House in 2010:

The Virginia Republican said that while he and other Republicans will continue to seek cuts to the federal budget, they will stick to the debt deal with the White House that sets spending at a higher level than the GOP’s budget.   ( emphasis mine)

So once again we see that the cowards of Congress are afraid to hold the line on debt spending even though America’s credit rating was downgraded and we are fast approaching $15 trillion dollars of national debt. Cantor basically came out with the excuse that the government will shut down if they don’t continue to collapse the U.S economy through fiscal insanity:

The risk of bringing about brinkmanship or another shutdown [fight] would not be helpful,” Cantor said, insisting that Republicans by and large support addressing the CR in a manner “without there having to be another potential for shutdown and [instead] maintain our focus” on jobs.

This is what happens when you have elected officials perpetually concerned with scoring campaign points over actually doing the jobs they are paid to do. Cantor releases that statement on Monday, as a way to prep the conservative base to get used to more bloated debt spending bills that will increase our debt instead of putting up a fight to get spending under control. That statement was released on Monday and low and behold look what transpired on Tuesday the very next day: This comes to us from Mr. Russ Vought via redstate.com, who actually works for The Heritage Foundation:

Then we find out that a separate bill (H.R. 2887) to extend the federal highway and aviation programs for six months was rushed through the House this afternoon without even a recorded vote. ( emphasis mine)

Holding votes on massive spending bills which allow reps. to hide under the cover of a voice vote where they can not be held accountable for their actions is a nasty disservice to the American people, no matter how you slice it. While we have come to expect this kind of tyrannical gimmickry from the Liberal fake Democrats, we expect better from the GOP. If you clowns think you can slip this past we the people, you’ve got another thing coming. Witness Mr. Vought’s above-linked article and this one right here. Boehner, Cantor and company have effectively used the “sacred debt ceiling deal” to line up with the fake Democrats of the past five years to keep on spending America into insolvency. This points to a famous saying of yester-year: “They are all in this together!”

The Progressive Socialism pimps have effectively moved the bar by controlling the message once again. It is now [supposedly] unacceptable for we the people to demand that Congress stop the insanity and only spend what they take in every year. America has now moved from a center-right, prosperous freedom-loving nation, to a nation of cowards who will allow the tyrants of big government to drive our system right into a collision with massive debt problems from which we will never recover. The “R” that is supposed to represent the conservative values of our Republican Party has been tarnished once again today. To pull this kind of stunt all in the name of being moderates to work with our ” friends across the aisle”  while irreparably damaging American’s future prosperity through irresponsible debt spending increases, and then using Liberal leglislative gimmickry to avoid accountability by doing it through a voice vote really makes me lose hope for the future of our Republic. While we need to remain optimistic about the future of America, it is very hard to do so considering the fact that, thanks to Liberal Democrat Harry Reid blocking and refusing to act on any House passed spending bills in the U.S. Senate, America will once again operate with no firm spending budget in place for the third straight year. How’s that hope n change workin out for you America? Barack Obama and the Liberals want to dump four more years of this nonsense onto us in the 2012 elections, and now apparently have enlisted the help of  House Republicans.  We truly are on the Highway to insolvency hell people, and it is just a matter of how fast we will get there now.

Obama Claims Jobs Bill Paid For

President Barack Obama’s promise Thursday (September 8, 2011) that everything in his jobs plan will be paid for rests on highly iffy propositions. It will be paid for if a committee he can’t control does his bidding, if Congress puts that into law, and if Congress, in the “out years,” doesn’t roll it back. The jobs bill he proposes employs sleight-of-hand accounting.

Paid For?

Let’s have a look at some of Obama’s claims and how they compare with the facts:

  • “It will not add to the deficit.” But… It is difficult to see how the jobs bill will not raise the deficit over the next year because most spending cuts and tax increases are designed to come sometime in the future (if at all), while deficits are calculated on a yearly basis.
  • “Everything in here is the kind of proposal that’s been supported by both Democrats and Republicans, including many who sit here tonight.” But… Obama’s proposed cut in the Social Security payroll tax will earn GOP support. But Obama proposes paying for this jobs plan with tax increases that have already generated Republican opposition.
  • “The American Jobs Act answers the urgent need to create jobs right away.” But… Not all of the proposals will yield quick job growth. One proposal is to establish a National Infrastructure Bank (NIB) to raise private capital for roads, rail, bridges, airports and waterways. Supporters of NIB doubt it will have much impact on jobs in the next two years because it takes time to establish.

  • “Everything in this bill will be paid for. Everything.” But… Obama did not explain how he plans to pay for the measures contained in his nearly $450 billion American Jobs Act, but said he would send his proposed specifics in a week to the new congressional supercommittee. Currently all federal taxes and other revenues are consumed by spending on federal benefit programs and payments on the national debt. Everything else is done on credit, so there is no guarantee that programs that will increase annual deficits in the near term will be paid for in the long term.

Pass This Jobs Bill Now

“I am sending this Congress a plan that you should pass right away,” said President Obama. He continued, “It’s called the American Jobs Act. There should be nothing controversial about this piece of legislation.” Obama called on Republicans and Democrats to stop arguing and put people back to work.

Obama unveiled his $447 billion jobs program of tax cuts and new spending after telling Congress to “stop the political circus” and fix the economy. “Pass this jobs bill now” he repeated seventeen times in is Thursday night speech. The proposals the president outlined tonight merit consideration,” House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, said. Obama’s jobs bill relies on payroll tax cuts to put money into the economy. Boehner continued,”We hope he gives serious consideration to our ideas as well.” Obama told Congress, “You should pass it right away,” and pledged to campaign for its enactment “in every corner of this country.”

How It Will Be Paid For

Valerie Jarrett, senior Obama adviser, said that the President will “close loopholes” to pay for his jobs bill. “We need to make sure that people that are paying their fair share; that those who can most afford to pay a little bit more do,” she said. She added, “This should not be controversial.” “I will let the President discuss the details this evening.” She was clear that the bill will be fully paid for.

“The President will be setting up a bill next week. In that bill will be the details of the legislation as well as how he intends to pay for it. The goal of the American Jobs Act is to create jobs right now. It will be fully paid for. We are going to create a wide range of jobs. There will be a range of tax benefits for small businesses and start-ups. The important message is we need to act now and that is what the President will be calling on congress to do. There are programs in the package that have received bipartisan support in the past. This should not be controversial.” Obama said he would outline legislation in coming days to offset the bill’s $447 billion price tag so it wouldn’t add to federal deficits.

Asked by ABC News’ Jake Tapper and other White House reporters how President Obama plans to pay for his jobs plan, White House press secretary Jay Carney continued to dodge the question, and would give no answer. CBS’ Norah O’Donnell asked if the plan will be paid for with immediate cuts. Carney says “I said it would be paid for.”

Obama says that everything in his bill will be paid for. Obama claims this isn’t another stimulus bill. But… this bill will have to be paid for by borrowing and printing money, which will increase our budget deficit, expand the money supply, and lead to higher inflation. This jobs bill is nothing more than another stimulus bill in disguise that will add to our budget deficits.

But that’s just my opinion.

Stimulus 2011: Road to Hell to be Repaved

The road to hell is paved with good intentions and the Obama administration is announcing that in an effort to stimulate the economy, they will be upgrading that oft-used road to a highway.

A White House spokesman said, “Considering our failures in Libya, Egypt, Obamacare, Afghanistan, food stamps, stimulus, immigration and GM, we’re going to focus on America and infrastructure in a very real way.”

The recent stimulus bill was an abysmal failure. Many liberal analysts say that the first effort was both too small and too widespread to be effective. In a White House press briefing, a spokesman explains how this new initiative fixes both of those issues.

The president feels that we should do one massive project. This will be the most-important government infrastructure undertaking since the bridge to nowhere – which was a complete success – and the Cross-Florida barge canal.

We have decided to spend the sum total of the federal transportation fund on a long-neglected roadway. The road to Hell.

Considering that the last stimulus was not large enough, and our incredibly bad numbers in the polls, we felt it to be the right time to focus on infrastructure that America needs – and clearly this country is on this particular road.

We have spent the first 3 years of this term in office driving America down the road to hell and we are pleased to announce that it will soon be a superhighway.

In a change of policy, the administration is also planning to pay for the project using the questionable approach of a public-private partnership. Beelzebub, inc will be financing roughly 51% of the project in exchange for 330 million souls. The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) says that it is impossible to estimate the cost to taxpayers as they “have only put a value on an actual human life. The government does not currently believe that there is any value in the human soul.”

The agreement is being crafted in Congress as the Hades-America Free Trade Agreement (HAFTA). Joe Biden joked that they are “doing this big f*%$ing deal because we HAFTA.. get it? [snort]”.

In response to claims that the administration is selling Americans down the river, a White House official responded, “no, we’re not building a river.”

This post is satire, pure fiction, and an absolute figment of the author’s imagination.

Liberals: ‘Tea Party Waging War on the American People’ – What would they Call the Last Two Years?

Where in the world has the left been for the last couple of years? An Op-Ed Columnist for the New York Times – Joe Nocera – wrote a piece today claiming the Tea Party was Waging War on the American People. I would like to ask Joe, where he has been for the last two years? If you want to call trying to get the uncontrolled spending under control – war – then I guess the Tea Party is waging war, not on the American people, but on Washington.

In the past two years the Obama administration has been on a ‘No-limit’ spending spree. They have shoved Obama’s economic plans through congress by writing colossal bills stuffed with pork barrel spending. They shoved an unconstitutional health care bill (Obamacare) through congress, at last count 27 states were suing over Obamacare – a $787 billion stimulus package to keep the unemployment rate below 8 percent, it is now 9.2 percent – and now that the Tea Party Republicans are the House majority leaders and this kind of wasteful spending ceases they get called jihadist?

The Democrats control the Senate in 2011, but in the 2010 midterm elections, the Republicans gained a majority in the House of Representatives. Up until this past election the Democrats controlled both Senate and the House of Representatives. It was relatively easy for Democrats to pass bills before the Republicans took over the House of Representatives – now it is not so easy.

Since Republicans took over the House of Representatives it kind of reminds me of when the United States went to war with Saddam Hussein. Saddam would shoot those Scud missiles and the U.S. would fire the Patriot missiles knocking the Scuds out of the air – nearly every time. The Obama administration fires their “Scud policies” and the House of Representatives shoot them down with the “Patriot members.” The Tea Party members of congress, I guess are waging war as Joe Nocera writes – but it is not against the American people as he dreams – but it is against the Obama administrations almost ludicrous “back room deals” they try to shove through.

Obviously Joe is a libtard, because in his first couple of sentences he writes: These last few months, much of the country has watched in horror as the Tea Party Republicans have waged jihad on the American people. So this writer thinks the Tea Party Republicans are “Muslim?”

What is  jihad? Answer: The Qur’an describes Jihad as a system of checks and balances, as a way that Allah set up to “check one people by means of another.” When one person or group transgresses their limits and violates the rights of others, Muslims have the right and the duty to “check” them and bring them back into line. There are several verses of the Qur’an that describe jihad in this manner.

See Joe tried to use jihad in a “bad” way to make the Tea Party Republicans look bad. But, I guess depending on what website you look at to get your definition of jihad the above definition is the most that I found. So I guess if we go with the above definition then I guess the Tea Party Republicans are waging jihad but not on the American people – but the Obama administration.

Years of Stimulus Fails to Create Jobs; 8 Weeks of Tax Cuts Gets it Done

Stimulus after stimulus program has been put in place by the Obama administration. Cash for clunkers, the GM/Chrysler/Union bail-outs, the actual 2009 economic stimulus bill, and on and on and on. As the  New American posted, it didn’t create much of anything in the private sector.

Thomas Smith at Emory University, supported the stimulus package but he now finds that although the funds may have resulted in some people being employed, the stimulus spending in the construction area has not resulted in creating jobs. Another economist compared the impact of federal stimulus funds to employment in the construction industry to trying to move the Empire State Building by pushing it.

As recent as December of 2010, the employment outlook was gloomy which finally forced Obama to sign the extension of the Bush Tax Cuts into law on December 17th. In addition to extending the current tax rates, Democrats further cut taxes by slashing the Social Security tax by 2%. Obama and the Congressional liberals had found a new religion and it’s already proving fruitful.

Today, the unemployment report dropped to 8.9%, the lowest since 2009. It didn’t stay at 8.8% throughout the stimulus. It didn’t drop when Obama took over GM. It didn’t drop each time the government tried to be the solution to the problem. Only once the government removed some of it’s burdensome taxes did the economy react and it reacted within weeks, not years.

Let citizens keep their money and they will spend it. That creates true economic stimulus as businesses hire and expand to handle the increased demand. Demand which only consumers can drive. Capitalism 101 liberals, are they finally learning?

You Are No Longer Entitled to Prosperity

Modern Monetary Theory (MMT), or Chartilism, is not as innocuous as it sounds, and America can trace her every current  financial woe to it. Developed in the 1920s, and approved of by John Maynard Keynes, it became the hidden standard of our economy when we moved completely to a fiat money system and away from one backed by a commodity.  In the simplest terms, MMT is a system in which the wealth creation of a nation is measured by government deficit spending rather than the goods or services sold for profit among its citizens. The only way this type of system is sustainable, is if the government taxes its citizenry to recover the already spent money. Proponents for this system argue that it is preferred because it allows for government deficit spending for (get this) fiscal stimulus in ways not possible under a commodity based monetary system.

For six months last year the Federal Reserve printed money to fund the already passed stimulus plan to the tune of $300 Billion. Additionally, they “bought” mortgage backed securities from the already bankrupt mortgage twins Fannie and Freddie. The Central Bank joined in the fun of buying both, and recently aquired debt by both in US Treasuries and Fannie & Freddie’s paper this past year is a whopping $1.25 TRILLION.

While MMT has been in practice since long before the US abandoned the Gold Standard, it has recently been purposely employed as the current Administration’s fiscal policy. Is it any wonder there has been no budget passed? The real question everyone should be asking is: “How much of my money have they already spent?”

The answer to that is one that most middle class Americans cannot afford to hear. The U.S. National Debt Clock puts each taxpayer’s share at more than twice the median annual income. Without an existing budget, and using MMT as a fiscal policy, Obama’s administration could spend the American taxpayer into several generations with no means of being held accountable. With MMT, the largest missing component IS accountability.  Those spending the money are counting on you paying it, no matter how high the bill and no matter how long they continue to spend.

It is unthinkable for most middle class Americans that their taxes will increase significantly, but that is exactly what has happened, and will continue to happen. With the passage of program after program aimed at fiscal stimulus, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, Financial Reform, the inflation of food prices and the looming cap and trade legislation, taxes will continue to rise to the point of your average family no longer being able to sustain their current existence. The continued cost of providing for the unemployed and the continued decline of all sectors of the housing market are affecting one in every five Americans. The hole that MMT has dug is a deep dark one, and we are still shoveling away with false hope of finding light on the other side, as long as we keep digging.

Most Americans today have no savings, are unable to put their children through college and couldn’t get a loan for a new home even if the money were still rolling in. The strangling of the US economy, the tightening of regulations on businesses small and large, and the general lack of consumer credibility,  have ground national and individual prosperity to a halt. Each new piece of burdensome legislation passed by this Administration adds to a bill that the middle class will ultimately be paying for: or facing bankruptcy on a scale so massive as to collapse the economy completely.

The decline in home starts and record low existing housing sales , unemployment, consumer borrowing lows, and general unrest about the economy are leading to an inevitable Depression era for which there are no currently viable solutions to emerge from. For us taxpayers that means Obama’s probable issuance of a second massive “emergency Stimulus package” and an even dimmer fiscal future for personal prosperity. Make no mistake, there are clear causes of the current credit crunch and nonexistent savings accounts in Middle Class America, and we elected them to office.
