SNL and ‘Obama’ on Sequestration

While the president is still trying to blame Republicans for the cuts certain to impact some families and federal workers due to the sequester, it appears the comedians from Saturday Night Live see it somewhat differently. In their opening skit this weekend, in typical irreverent style, the SNL cast mockingly portrays this president as somewhat uninformed and not knowledgeable on budgets. As the fake Obama says, “I could explain it in financial terms or in human terms,” Obama said. “But since I have no idea how money works or how budgets work, I’ll go with human terms instead.”

After bringing in several federal workers who share how they will be affected by the budget cuts, the President explains that America will survive.

“Trust me, nine months from now, you won’t remember this sequester ever happened,” he said. “Why? Because there will be another way worse financial crisis to deal with.”

Two things to take from this parody: One, that the writers of SNL are no longer peeling grapes for their hero and two, the above quotes have a real element of truth in them.

Jamie Foxx happy he gets to “kill all the white people in new movie

Jamie Foxx is all about violence against white people in his new movie, and brags about it on Saturday Night Live. The sad part is that the audience loved it too, erupting in laughter and cheers. It would have been great to see a camera shot of the audience to see how many self-hating whites joined him in celebrating his hateful racism with him. We truly have reached a new low in America when this is called humor.

First Debate Replay by SNL

I admit it. I haven’t been a big watcher of Saturday Night Live since Steve Martin and the Cone Heads were popular. Still, over the years I’ve found the elections bring out the best in SNL skits. No matter your political view their exaggeration of the candidates can be pretty funny.

This week if you watched the real debate between Mitt Romney and Barrack Obama you probably picked up on a few of their idiosyncrasies. I thought the SNL characters did a great job bringing them to light. Take a look at this, remembering for many young voters, this is the closest they will get to watching the real thing.
