The Democrat Party: Has It Already Seceded?

drudgemap

Demoralized conservatives, feeling dejected by an inexplicable election loss after being virtually water-boarded by the media for four interminable years, and savaged by an economy decimated by left-wing Treasury raids that make Alaric the Visigoth look like a piker, may be asking themselves the question: Has the Democrat Party finally succeeded? What they should be asking themselves is if the Democrat Party has seceded.

This is more than just a stupid pun. One glance at the electoral map above shows that tiny pockets of the country are lording over the rest of us, demanding we fund our own destroyers. Just a hair over half of the electorate is asking the rest to finance things they find morally reprehensible, fiscally unsustainable, and nationally self-destructive or else face the government gulag. Non-coincidentally, just about half of Americans pay exactly zero federal income taxes, and a smidgeon over half vote Democrat as reliably as the lunar cycle that drives the moon-barking mental midgets to howl ever for “more!”

In fact, Americans from all 50 states are so infuriated and petrified by the federal government’s hard lurch to the left that hundreds of thousands have signed onto a WhiteHouse.gov petition for their states to secede from the union. Seven states — Texas, Florida, Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee and North Carolina — have received more than 25,000 votes each to split the increasingly dismal mise en scene.

The petitions were instantly the talk of the town on the left-wing blog cocktail circuit, where snot-nosed, vanity eyeglass-wearing leftists who think “secession” is what someone does when he is addicted to cloves yucked it up before they likely took Princeton prof Peter Singer’s advice and sexually molested some hamsters.

The instant rejoinder from the serial abusers in our dysfunctional government relationship is that any such attempts to stop the bullying federal government from being so darned bullying has been null-and-voided by some left-wing lawyers. That’s cute. Y’all on the left want to violate the Constitution whenever you’ins damn well please, but insist that people obey the law whenever you say. Umm, what if people stop playing that game?

Whenever the elected President of the United States swears an oath to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution, and then violates it by nationalizing part of GM (Art.I, Sec. 8 on uniform bankruptcy laws), committing troops to extended military combat without a declaration of war or authorization (Art. I, Sec. 8 on war powers), making recess appointments when the Congress is not officially in recess (Art. II, Sec. 2), appointing “czars” not subject to advise and consent (Art. II, Sec II), violating legal entities’ due process, as with BP (Fifth Amendment), trespassing against unreasonable search and seizure with the TSA (Fourth Amendment), and so on and so on, it’s hard to take his legal decrees seriously.

The secession question should therefore be flipped on its head: Has the Democrat Party already seceded from the United States? Because the U.S. government has no force of law except that granted by the Constitution, which the states ratified to bring it into being. America itself was founded by those who broke apart from the mother country of Britain by reasonably citing numerous grievances listed in The Declaration of Independence. A lot of those complaints look laughable in hindsight. Most people suffer through a litany of rights infringements comparable to the Intolerable Acts by breakfast.

As the blogger Jon Galt pointed out on his article on secession, the following are Thomas Jefferson’s words as found in the Kentucky Resolutions:

“[T]he several states who formed that instrument [the Constitution], being sovereign and independent, have the unquestionable right to judge of its infraction; and that a nullification, by those [states], of all unauthorized acts….is the rightful remedy.”

In other words, we the people will tell the federal government when our rights are being violated, and not vice versa. The left can attempt to legalize tyranny, but some of us know the history of the country, and we do not have to give our consent to immoral government acts. Democracy is not the final moral or legal authority; the Constitution, which is based on inalienable individual rights, is.

There is a huge difference between morality and legality, as the great writer Frederic Bastiat illuminated (cited at length):

Now since man is naturally inclined to avoid pain — and since labor is pain in itself — it follows that men will resort to plunder whenever plunder is easier than work. History shows this quite clearly. And under these conditions, neither religion nor morality can stop it.

When, then, does plunder stop? It stops when it becomes more painful and more dangerous than labor.

It is evident, then, that the proper purpose of law is to use the power of its collective force to stop this fatal tendency to plunder instead of to work. All the measures of the law should protect property and punish plunder.

What more is Obamacare than an attempt to legalize plunder by charging government with the enforcement of a non-existent right that requires that the entire medical field by usurped, its doctors chained to the government system, and the state’s subjects forced to foot the bill for it? Those who immediately benefit may think they are getting medicine for “free,” but there is always a price to pay for such immoral legislation that enslaves one part of the country and puts it in hock to the rest.

People have rights and they should not give the government license to abuse them; even in exchange for “gifts,” which all-too-quickly come to a grinding halt when the economy inevitably and finally collapses.

What more is tyranny than the unlimited ability of the U.S. government to tax and to spend? What separates this miserable state of affairs from some of the worst political systems of the twentieth century: communism, socialism, and fascism?

Nothing will change until the producers stop paying to support the lives of the parasites via government. When the American people finally “go Galt,” it may take the form of a national revolt, a mass refusal by taxpayers to pay their bills, or even secession.  “What happens next?” is a question that should be giving all good Americans serious pause.

The Ground We Are Standing On Is Quicksand

american_flag_swirl

The petitions on the White House website have now grown to include citizens from all 50 states, or 57 if Barack Obama is counting. Illinois citizens have even started two petitions to secede.

One thing to keep in mind, these petitions are created by individual citizens of the individual States, not the States (Governments) themselves.

While the petitions are worded in such away that asks Barack Obama “permission to withdraw from The United States peacefully”, it is obvious that “permission” would never be granted. It’s not that simple, even if it were possible in this particular forum. The reality is, the people of each state would have to vote on something such as secession.

However, actually receiving “permission to withdraw from The United States peacefully” is not the real intent of the petitions. The intent is to speak out against the tyranny that The United States Government has become. It is not about Barack Obama. It is about who America has become.

We are no longer One Nation Under God.
As a nation, we have gone against God and everything He stands for!

We are no longer Indivisible.
Barack Obama and his Administration have gone to great lengths to divide us even further than we were before.

We no longer have Liberty and Justice for All.
It’s more about

America has become something that is unrecognizable. She is no longer the country our Founding Fathers created.

While many Conservatives have already signed their name to their particular State’s petition, not all are in agreement with this course of action. Glenn Beck spoke out vehemently against the movement on his radio show, stating:

“Now how do you think that’s going to work out? I mean, how dumb do you have to be?  Really?  You’re putting your name on a list that goes directly to the White House, and you’re putting your name on a list and saying, ‘yeah I think we should secede, I think there should be a Civil War.’ Uh huh…[And] do you think that these people don’t forget who made a statement to them?  Are you out of your mind?”

The truth of the matter is, if you have voiced your opinion online at all, it is highly possible that you are being watched by the government. You don’t have to put your name on a petition. Any one of us who have opposed Barack Obama and his administration are on their list, make no mistake!

Later, on his TV program, continuing the discussion on secession, Glenn Beck said:

“This is exactly the kind of fuel the president will use to order measures to ‘protect’ the Republic.  And he’ll have the Department of Homeland Security at his disposal to enforce them. If the government begins arming itself against the citizens at the federal level, and say ‘by the way, we’re your new state police,’ that would indeed be the point in the course of human events where it becomes necessary to dissolve political bands.”

Glenn believes that “secession is not an option.”

In an article from The Blaze, covering this topic, the author said:

“…so it is up to you to contact your governor, find out what your kids are learning, and change the media.  Because the next step isn’t going to be easy.”

Our “leaders” have proven what a “fine job” they are doing! John Boehner has rolled over on Obamacare, proclaiming, “it’s the law of the land! The media continues to cover up, lie, and fawn all over Obama, gushing like little school girls! Fox News, the so-called “Fair and Balanced” network, is more concerned about being “fair” and letting the liberals spew their garbage than actually giving true Conservatives a voice.

There are others who are holding out hope for the 2014 and 2016 elections. With Obama’s record, a corpse could have won the election against him (not to be confused with a “corpsman”.  What makes anyone so sure that the next election will be any different?

We must “stand our ground!”, they say! Stand our ground…. like we did in this past election? With the Republican Party that we have, and  no real 3rd Party options (that are not CRAZIES!), it’s not sure footing that we are standing on, it is quicksand and we are sinking fast!

The problem is not Barack Obama. He is just a symptom of the problem. The American public is the problem.

“The American Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public’s money.”   Alexis de Tocqueville

Mitt Romney was absolutely correct:

“There are 47 percent of the people who will vote for the president no matter what.”

The fact of the matter is we are left with three options. Not any of these will be easy, but the time to do nothing has passed. What are our three options?

  1. Secession
  2. Calling an Article V Convention
  3. “Stand our ground”… and continue down the same self-destructive path we are on

In the event of an Article V Convention, the following amendments need to be added:

  1. Repeal the 16th and 17th Amendments.
  2. Balanced Budget Amendment.
  3. Term Limits for Congress.
  4. Elimination of the Federal Reserve system.

So if we do not call and Article V Convention, and we do not secede… we simply stand our ground. The ground we are standing on is quicksand! Barack Obama and his Administration are going to great lengths to destroy The Constitution.  We are no longer a free people. We are now enslaved with an ever increasing national debt, and we are headed off of fiscal cliff with no airbags! We are entangled in class warfare and entitlements that are only serving to equally enslaves us.

“Americans are so enamored of equality, they would rather be equal in slavery than unequal in freedom.”  Alexis de Tocqueville

We are no longer the free nation our Founding Fathers created. We are being “bribed with our own money”. This nation cannot endure on this path. We no longer have ground to stand on. We are spiraling out of control! This election is obvious proof that we are standing on quicksand, and we are sinking fast! Something has to change. So we as Conservatives either stand on the quicksand, “united” as a “nation” with the Politicians (both Republican and Democrat!) who have put us in this position and refuse to make the necessary changes, or we look at the other two options mentioned previously.

“The American Republic will endure, until politicians realize they can bribe the people with their own money.”
― Alexis de Tocqueville

Secession: Texas Is A Very Unique Place

texas

With all the rumblings and questions over whether or not secession can be done, Texas Governor Rick Perry takes questions after the April 15, 2009 after the Austin Tea Party rally.

Is Washington paying attention?

At the time of the posting of this article, there are now 83,548 signatures on the White House petition: WE PETITION THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION TO: Peacefully grant the State of Texas to withdraw from the United States of America and create its own NEW government.

Who knows what may come out of all of this?

Divided We Stand: Echoing Calls To Secede From The Union

Image via mikechurch.com

Yes, you read that correctly. Your eyes are not deceiving you. Divided We Stand.

In less than a week since this nation re-elected Barack Obama, there are calls from numerous States to secede from The United States of America. We are no longer a United Nation. We are very much a Divided Nation. Many are standing together, calling for a peaceful divide.

The famous declaration for unity that you are familiar with has been attributed to Aesop’s fables, as well as John Dickinson’s Revolutionary War song, “The Liberty Song”, which was was published first in the Boston Gazette in 1768.

However, it was Patrick Henry that made the historic exclamation in what was to be his last public speech:

“Let us trust God, and our better judgment to set us right hereafter. United we stand, divided we fall. Let us not split into factions which must destroy that union upon which our existence hangs.”

Patrick Henry’s declaration came at a very pivotal point in America’s history. It was March 1799, and Mr. Henry was “denouncing The Kentucky and Virginia Resolutions”, which argued that the two states “had the right and the duty to declare unconstitutional any acts of Congress not authorized by The Constitution”.

This speech took such a toll on Patrick Henry that after the speech his “near lifeless body” was carried offstage and into the nearest tavern. He died just two months later.

We have now reached another pivotal point in this nation’s history.

In the November 6 election, the divide between the candidates was a little more than 3 million votes. Barack Obama received 61,910,594 votes, and Mitt Romney received 58,654,765 votes. When you look at the total number of votes cast, it is almost a clear cut down the middle. We are most definitely a divided nation. We can no longer stand together, when we are so obviously divided over so many issues. We have reached a breaking point that threatens to be anything but peaceful if things are not handled in a way in which every voice is heard and considered.

Citizens in Louisiana are now petitioning the White House to “Peacefully grant the State of Louisiana to withdraw from the United States of America”. The petition was created the day after the election, and has nearly 8,000 signatures in just 5 days.

It appears that this petition from Louisiana was the first of many to have been submitted to the “We The People” site on the official White House website. The site claims to be “Your Voice In OUR Government”. The question remains whether or not the Government will hear the many voices being raised. It is highly doubtful, as they have turned their noses up in arrogance towards We The People numerous times before.

It’s not just the state of Louisiana, the list of State Petitions calling to peacefully “withdraw from the United States of America” is growing by the day.

Country singer Charlie Daniel’s is suggesting that “the South” secede from The Union; however, there are Northern States that are not so happy with the government, and are also calling to leave the Union. At the time of this article’s posting, the states with open petitions are the following:

Alabama
Colorado

Florida
Georgia

Indiana

Kentucky
Mississippi

Montana
New Jersey
New York
North Carolina
North Dakota

Oregon
Texas

While Louisiana appears to be the first state to start a post-election petition to actually withdraw from The United States, in 2010, Missouri’s Legislative House gave “preliminary approval to state sovereignty measure”, which asserted the 10th Amendment to the US Constitution. It was not a call to secede from the Union, but rather a stand for States’ Rights.

In Texas, Peter Morrison, “a high ranking” Republican County Treasurer, made the declaration for The Lone Star State to secede, stating:

“Why should Vermont and Texas live under the same government?”

The winds of change are coming. The echoing calls to seperate are growing louder and stronger.

Barack Obama claimed in both victory speeches that we are not “a collection of Red States and Blue States, but we are The United States”. These words are empty and mean nothing coming from a man who has done so much to divide this nation. The people are not happy. We are no longer united. We The People are standing, asking to peacefully divide from the albatross that is Barack Obama. If the request is not considered, it very well may come as a demand, which will not be so peaceful.
