Hooray for the Death Penalty!

Anti capital punishment memeFor a brief moment I almost believed the mainstream media when I read: ‘Oklahoma Execution of Murderer Went Horribly, Horribly Wrong.’ ‘Oklahoma Governor Calls for Independent Review of Botched Execution.’

My initial response was horror, too: You mean that violent sadist is still alive?!!!

But the execution wasn’t botched. Clayton Lockett is dead, dead, dead and good riddance. The ceremony may not have been esthetically pleasing to capital punishment opponents, but any execution where the murderer winds up dead is, by definition, a successful execution.

According to hysterical coverage by USA Today (Headline: Botched execution could slam brakes on death penalty) “Clayton Lockett, 38, struggled violently, groaned and writhed after lethal drugs were administered by Oklahoma officials Tuesday night, according to eyewitness accounts. State Corrections Director Robert Patton halted the Lockett’s execution, citing vein failure that may have prevented the deadly chemicals from reaching Lockett. He eventually died of a heart attack.”

In a sane world the inefficient Oklahoma execution would slam the brakes on frivolous death penalty appeals. The goal of the left is to step–by–step end capital punishment. First the electric chair was deemed ‘inhumane.’ So government switched to lethal injection. In return the left attacked the chemicals used.

Since no subject has ever walked out of a lethal injection meeting alive, it would appear the original chemical cocktail works fine, but I’m not a judge that grants spurious legal relief. Over the years drug manufacturers have been under relentless legal assault.

Today the proven, effective drug, thiopental, is unobtainable and states are forced to experiment. This is fine with opponents, because rather than taking the blame for banning the effective and humane drug, they shift blame to the state for using a substitute.

Leading to an interesting pharmaceutical contrast. The same political class that is morally outraged by lethal injection, is equally outraged when the state of Oklahoma bans the off–label use of abortion–inducing drugs by requiring doctors only administer the drug in accordance with FDA protocols.

It’s exactly the same strategy the murderer’s lobby uses to prevent the use of thiopental. Yet regulation that saves a truly innocent baby’s life is unacceptable, because it impedes a woman’s ‘right to choose.’ While the other instance is a barbaric throwback to savagery when it restores balance and justice.

In fact Richard Dieter, executive director of the Death Penalty Information Center, made an unintentionally hilarious comment in the wake of Lockett’s passing, “Somebody died because of the state’s incompetency.”

The second contrast involves medical professionals. Doctors with a sense of justice have been prevented from participating in executions by means of a leftist perversion of the Hippocratic oath. State medical societies threaten doctors with penalties and loss of medical license. Yet abortionists have no problem with ‘first do no harm’ during their procedures, even though harm is the goal. As a result executions are conducted by penal employees who may or may not have adequate training.

Which justice opponents also use to attack governments like Oklahoma.

This problem lends itself perfectly to a genuine ‘bi–partisan compromise: let late–term abortion doctors perform really late term abortions on murderers. Of course the left won’t agree.

The campaign against the death penalty has all the trappings of modern gestures of misplaced moral authority: Achieving the goal comes at someone else’s expense.

Arguments against the death penalty have three main components: The death penalty is not an effective deterrent, it is cruel and unusual punishment and life in prison is a more severe than death.

But since when did deterrence become the benchmark for a law’s utility? Prevention is an equally valid way to judge a law’s effectiveness and the death penalty has a 100 percent success rate in preventing future murders. Laws against robbery don’t always deter robbers. Laws against sawed–off shotguns didn’t deter Lockett. And, laws against speeding don’t deter the readers of this column, yet the laws remain on the book.

Death is the final earthy punishment, but that doesn’t make it cruel. Dennis Prager has made a strong case for the moral authority of the death penalty based on the Bible and the fact we are made in God’s image.

The facile counter–argument that ‘eye for an eye’ law no longer applies because of its savagery is historically ignorant. Lex talionis, outlined in Exodus 21:24, is actually a legal innovation that restored fairness in the law by holding everyone responsible regardless of his station in life. Eye–for–an–eye meant that a rich man could not buy his way out of punishment, while the poor man suffered severe consequences as happened in pagan cultures. It made the law truly impartial and just.

The final argument has always been incoherent. If the death penalty is inhumane how can these compassion tourists advocate a punishment that’s worse? Simple, they are lying. I’ve driven by Huntsville prison in Texas more than once and I have never seen inmates hanging bed sheets out of the window demanding they be put our of their misery.

If murderers were offered a chance between death and life in prison, almost every one would choose life. Then murderers would be free to endanger the guards, medical staff and other inmates in the prison, but the exhibitionist left can’t be bothered with that petty detail.

In spite of years of anti–death penalty propaganda in the mainstream media, 55 percent of the public still favors the ultimate punishment. But reporters keep trying. In January Oklahoma executed Michael Lee Wilson with another mysterious drug cocktail. In an effort to elicit sympathy for the unsympathetic reporters say his last words were, “My whole body is burning.”

But I don’t think that was in reference to the execution. I think he was referring to his destination, because not all near–death experiences are glowing lights and fluffy bunnies.

21 have been confirmed dead in the tornado that hit Moore, Oklahoma earlier today. According to officials that number will rise. The two-mile wide tornado has been classified as at least an E-4 category – the scale is from zero to five.

Spokeswoman Amy Elliott says the death toll is again expected to rise. Elliott says children are among those killed by the storm.

The city of Moore, Okla., was hit by a mile-wide tornado on Monday afternoon. The National Weather Service says it had winds up to 200 mph.

Officials say a small hospital in Moore was damaged by Monday afternoon’s tornado.

The Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management spokeswoman Keli Cain says the Moore Medical Center sustained damage.

Cain also said the hospital was evacuated and all 13 patients were transferred to other facilities.

Cain said she didn’t know the conditions of the patients or the extent of the damage at the hospital, which is southwest of Oklahoma City.

At least 20 of the dead were children, including at least seven from Plaza Towers Elementary School in Moore, which lay directly in the path of the monster storm’s wall of wind.
Seventy-five students and staff members had been huddled at the school when the tornado hit, CNN affiliate KFOR reported.
As nightfall descended, determined searchers in hard hats dug in the debris for those possibly trapped, but authorities described the work as a recovery, not rescue, effort. Search lights illuminated their efforts.

May 20, 2013 tornado that struck Moore, Oklahoma

For the second day in a row, Central Oklahoma was hit with severe weather and deadly tornadoes. Moore, Oklahoma is no stranger to the danger of tornadoes. On May 3, 1999, the city of Moore, which is just South of Oklahoma City, was devastated by an EF5 tornado that killed 46 people. The tornado today, which followed a strikingly similar path, has already been estimated at least an EF4, and reportedly already has a higher death toll. It may be days before we have an official number of fatalities.

As rescue efforts continue, and families wait to be reunited, the residents of Oklahoma City and surrounding areas have rallied to provide for the victims of this devastating storm. Several area locations have set up donation centers, and the response from the community has been overwhelming. Local news channel 9 ( KWTV) set up a donation center a their station and, at the time of this writing, volunteers were still unloading donated water, shovels, nonperishable food, clothing and more from the generous residents in their viewing area.

U.S. Has 2-5 Years Before Financial Meltdown

tom_coburn

We all know it’s coming, but how long will it be before the United States reaches the point of no return? Senator Tom Coburn believes our “Greece” moment of financial meltdown is coming within 2 to 5 years, saying that the federal government is in the “midst of committing murder to our republic”.

Fist Fights In The State of Oklahoma House Chamber?

Oh where, Oh where do I start with this one??!!!

This article is going to be much shorter than my normal writing because I really am nearly speechless on this one. It seems there was a “disagreement” on the floor of the Oklahoma House of Representatives this morning over rules that say lobbyists are not allowed to speak on the House floor in favor of bills they are paying for, er supporting.

The combatants were two Republican House members, Harold Wright and Mike Reynolds. I am not going to tell the entire story here as there is a link later in this article. No determination has yet been made as to the disposition of the complaints filed by each child involved in the fracas.

In Arab parliaments/legislatures they have the decency to throw shoes at one another. In some European countries they throw fruit or chairs at one another. In San Francisco they have limp wristed slap fights when disputes break out. In the Oklahoma legislature two high brows push their noses together and slobber mean words at each other like a couple of junkyard dogs. But all of this is beside the point of this article.

The true point of this article is about the legislation behind the “slobberfest”. Before I get into the actual details of the legislation at the core of this dispute, let me bring readers, especially those in the State of Oklahoma, up to date on what is happening in our legislature during the current session. The Republican leadership- the state is controlled totally by Republicans- are beyond the pale of pathetic in what they are doing. I wrote a couple of days ago about the criminal activities taking place in our state government. Please read this article to get up to speed on some of the problems we are facing. Oklahoma Republicans are using the same tactics employed by Barack Obama, Harry Reid, and Nancy Pelosi in dealing with legislation. I have taken to calling Gov. Mary Fallin, Sen. Pres. Brian Bingman, and Speaker Kris Steele Oklahoma’s Axis of Evil.

In addition to the Obamacare items in the article linked above, we have legislation that has been sitting around for three years not being acted upon. This legislation ( HB 1399 & HB 2569) would prohibit the use of RFID chips in Oklahoma driver’s licenses. These chips allow the federal or state government to track every move a person makes and to know within 10 feet where citizens are at all times. We also have legislation from the last couple of years that would allow the open carry of firearms in addition to the current concealed carry allowed in the state. And for those outside of Oklahoma, especially in the Northeast and California, we do not have “Dodge City Night” every weekend in Oklahoma.

Now that you have the background to understand my disgust, let me get to the meat of the matter. All of this dust-up and behavior befitting a couple of 5th graders was in regards to a continuing resolution to “honor” February as “State Music Therapy Month”. Now bend over and pick your teeth up off the floor, I did.

We have the Oklahoma legislature ignoring the will of We the People in about a dozen different pieces of legislation, and that is just the ones that I know of, and a fight starts over “Music Therapy Month”? What the hell is wrong with these people? Is this why we spend millions of tax dollars to elect you clowns, to go down there and get in a fight over “Music Therapy Month”? This is despicable to a point that I can’t even fathom!

Our state, and our country, are melting down around our ears and these two juvenile jackasses are fighting over “music therapy month”. They both should resign in shame and take their sorry butts back to where they came from. This is not the reason for you being there. It is bad enough that you waste time with crap like this that means nothing without fighting like a couple of spoiled school boys.

The taxpaying citizens of this state and this nation are fed up with the things going on at the legislative and executive branches of both state and federal governments. And don’t get me started on the Judicial branch. We are not being represented, we are being dictated to. If you people don’t have anything better to do, just go home and let us live our lives in peace. I am sure some of us common, everyday hayseeds can go in  and figure out if we need a music therapy month or not. We can also use our lack of intelligence to figure out if 70% of We the People saying we don’t want Obamacare means 70% of us don’t want Obamacare imposed upon us. Just go home, let me know when you are gone, and I will recruit some people to take care of business without a slobber fight. I am sure some of us hicks can figure out if we want RFID chips in our wallets, medical implants in our hands, and a music therapy month. And if some judge doesn’t like our legislation, we know where to find tar, feathers, and rails.

Tyranny Alive and Well in Oklahoma’s State Government

The 2012 session of the Oklahoma legislature has begun where it left off in 2011, subverting the will of We the People. It seems the newly elected Republicans in the governor’s seat, and the state Senate and House either can’t read or don’t care what the citizens of the great State of Oklahoma have to say about Obamacare.

In November of 2010 Oklahoma voters overwhelmingly voted to not participate in Obamacare. Seventy percent of We the People voted in favor of State Question 756. This initiative said that the citizens of Oklahoma rejected any aspect of Obamcare and no person and no organization could be forced to participate in this unconstitutional legislation from the federal government. We recognized the bribery and back room deals that created this monster and said NO!!! in a very loud and clear voice. In spite of the 70% vote, Governor Mary Fallin, Senate Pres Pro Tem Brian Bingman, and House Speaker Kris Steele made three separate attempts to implement Obamacare in 2011. All failed, greatly due to the efforts of Amanda Teegarden and the OK-SAFE organization. We found ourselves fighting against a sneak attack that makes Pearl Harbor look like a minor misunderstanding.

Now, as the 2012 session gets started, the top priority of our Republican “leadership” is to get Obamacare shoved down the throats of We the People before they do anything else. The citizens of the State of Oklahoma swept Republicans into office in 2010 because we were tired of the double-dealing, lying, and treachery inherent in the Democrat Party. To our dismay we have found out that we have swept more double-dealing, lying, and treachery into office by electing Republicans. Mary Fallin was a RINO when in Congress but had more money than her opponent so got elected without people really knowing how she sees government.

Up for grabs is $54.5 million of “Obama money” from “Obama’s stash” and our greedy Republican politicians want this money to spread amongst their friends at the state Chamber of Commerce office and the members who give them money. The down side to this money is that to get it, the state must sign a legally binding contract to implement Obamacare. HELLO!!! 70% of us said NOOOO!!!! less than 2 years ago.

What happened to the promises to represent We the People? What happened to the promises to govern honestly and above board? What happened to the promises of “transparency”? What happened to the promises to listen to the citizens of Oklahoma? It seems we have removed one political party full of lying, cheating, back-stabbing politicians and replaced them with another party of lying, cheating, back-stabbing politicians.

Some of the issues being shoved down our throats once again are:

SB 999 – Authored by Republican Sen. Bill Brown (OK Senate 36.) This bill directs the Insurance Commissioner to “establish a comprehensive health care information system”. This bill is a rehash of SB 411 from the 2011 session and creates a system that puts all of our medical records into a federally monitored data base which is one of the provisions in Obamacare.

SB 1002 – Authored by Republican Randy McDaniel (Ok House 83) and Republican Mike Mazzei (OK House 25). This is called the Health Care Choice Act, and is a rehash of SB 57 from 2011. This is the part of Obamacare that provides information to “help” a patient make decisions on what “care” is needed, and when to end life instead of fight on.

SB 1161 – Authored by Republican Gary Stanislawski (OK Senate 35). This boondoggle expands government to the tune of more employees at a minimum of $40,000 per year each. I assume that the Obamacare money will be used to pay for this expansion since the state government is in short supply of money.

HB 2266 – Authored by Republican Doug Cox (House Ok-5) This little jewel provides for “e-care” to be provided by nurses using online “medical protocol” and “medical algorithms” to treat patients instead of seeing a doctor. The author has declared this to be an emergency situation which will make this effective upon approval by both houses and the signature of the governor.

The above are just a few of the tyrannical pieces of legislation being imposed on We the People by the very Republican party who assured citizens that they would listen to and honor the votes of the citizens of the State of Oklahoma. It seems the promises have once again taken a back seat to their own financial interests and those of their friends with campaign cash to offer. We find more politicians who see putting money in the pockets of themselves and their deep pocketed donors more important than honoring the wishes of those who voted them into office.

Once again, this isn’t the Democrat Party doing this to us. This is the “conservative” Republicans who ran on a platform of limited government; and government Of the People, By the People, and For the People. It isn’t like no one voted on SQ 756, or in the state elections. In 2010 Oklahoma saw a record turn-out of voters intent on stopping the corruption and tyranny being purposely imposed on them by Democrat politicians who cared more about an agenda espoused by Marxists than they did about the citizens of the State of Oklahoma. What we have found is changing parties doesn’t help when the other party is just as corrupt and just as tyrannical as the one we just deposed.

This is sad because so many good people have worked so hard to establish the Republican Party as a party of the people, only to be thwarted by politicians who don’t seem to appreciate the efforts of patriots. This behavior is not the behavior that is expected by the many hard working citizens who happen to be registered as Republicans. Like so many others, I am not a partisan political hack; but rather a patriot interested in seeing this state and this nation return to the greatness established by our founding fathers.

I submit this in the name of the Most Holy Trinity, in faith, with the responsibility given to me by Almighty God to honor His work and not let it die from neglect.

Letter to Congress: Uphold Your Oath or Resign

January 10, 2012

Sen. Inhofe, Sen. Coburn, Rep. Boren:

I am writing concerning several issues that show a total contempt for the Constitution and We the People of the United States of America by Barack Obama, and more frightening, the Congress of the United States of America. I have just been made aware of S. 1698 which seeks to strip citizenship from citizens “engaged in war against the United States”. I realize the wording is vague and leans towards double-talk on purpose, and that is what I take issue with. It seems members of Congress are systematically stripping We the People of any right to protest, or fight against the tyranny being foisted upon us by our own government, and parsing words to accomplish their sinister task.

This is supposedly aimed at “homegrown terrorists” but we all know the definition of that term today. The only parameter of the Homeland Security profile I don’t fit is that I still have all of my fingers. Their definition of “homegrown terrorist” seems to be aimed at patriotic American citizens not the true terror threats, Islamic radicals. As a matter of fact, I haven’t seen Islamic radicals on their list of dangerous people, so-called “potential terrorists”. I fit the profile but Muslim males 18-35 don’t. Oops, sorry, can’t profile Muslim males 18-35, that is racist. This all seems a bit odd to me since we have been attacked by these nuts several times, and can expect even more attacks, including the possibility of a nuclear attack on one or more of our cities.

This comes on the heels of S. 1867/HR 1540, a bill which blatantly broadens the ability of the president to order the indefinite detention of any citizen without charges, at locations within or outside of the United States. I know it has been said that this does not refer to We the People, but Sen. Lindsey Graham, Sen. John McCain, and Barack Obama have publicly disputed that notion. Sections 1021 and 1022 are in direct conflict with each other as to the meaning of the wording, which lends a great deal of lee-way towards tyranny if one should be inclined and I tend to think one would be inclined based on the actions I see coming from Washington D. C. every day.

The NDAA also provides for the staffing of the FEMA camps, the ones that have been denied to exist. When I wrote about those camps a couple of years ago I was told they are for victims of natural disasters. No one answered my concerns about the design of the camps to resemble the Nazi concentration camps of World War II. I don’t understand the need for 12 ft. high fences topped with razor wire and barbed wire, just to provide temporary homes for flood, hurricane, or tornado victims. Why are they suddenly being staffed by the NDAA, with bids going to Halliburton recently? Are we expecting an unforcasted natural disaster to crop up any time soon or is it in preparation for the imposition of martial law and the suspension of the Constitution as requested by North Carolina Governor Beverly Perdue, Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr, Rep. Maxine Waters, and others in congress?

Pile all of this on top of S. 679, legislation that takes any away oversight by Congress in presidential appointments and we have the end game of a dictatorship, ala Venezuela. I see Congress deliberately abrogating their responsibilities under the Constitution and giving this, or any, president the right to do as he wishes regardless of the law. When we have United States Senators saying a president should be allowed to appoint anyone he wants regardless of their intentions regarding upholding the Constitution We the People have every right to be concerned. The extension of the “Patriot Act” wasn’t blatant enough so we have to go with even more. That law alone is so unConstitutional that it takes away the very basis of our Republic.

Today, the 10th Circuit upheld the ruling by Judge Vicki Miles-LeGrange that State Question 755, the anti Sharia and International Law bill, as being unConstitutional. This passed with 70% of We the People voting for it. This is more tyranny based on the whining of CAIR, claiming it is unConstitutional because it bars using Sharia Law in Oklahoma. Any idiot should be able to see Sharia Law goes against the Constitution and is therefore not applicable in America. SQ 755 has nothing to do with religious freedom. I fail to see how this can be ruled unConstitutional in the first place, much less upheld on appeal.

Members of Congress, as do federal judges, swear to uphold and defend the Constitution but I don’t see that happening in Congress or the courts much these days. I see bill after bill, judicial ruling after judicial ruling, coming through that denigrates my freedom and no one up there seems to give it a thought. I know bills don’t get read because of the surprise on the faces and in the words of members of Congress when the provisions come out. The two biggest backers of the NDAA, Graham and McCain, didn’t know about the removal of sodomy and bestiality rules for our military. Is that to accommodate Muslims? After all, they are known for their affection for animals. After it was passed and signed, they feign surprise with, “I didn’t know that was in there”. What else did they, or you, not know is in there?

Gentlemen, WE the People are fed up. We are only going to take so much before your rules are going to fall on deaf ears and we will run our nation without you. You are employees of We the People, not monarchs. We decide what is Constitutional and what is not. Government has grown too big for its britches and needs to take a good look at how our nation was designed. When patriotic citizens of this nation are called terrorists and the real terrorists are called victims of bigotry something is very wrong. Our nation is on the verge of collapse and Congress has its foot on the accelerator running us off a cliff.

It is time for you to stand up and publicly call for the resignations of John Boehner and Mitch McConnell. It is time for you to stand up and demand the arrest of Barack Obama, Eric Holder, and Kenneth Melson over Operation Fast & Furious. They should be arrested and held without bond for murder in the death of border patrol Agent Brian Terry, conspiracy to commit murder, conspiracy to violate gun laws, and treason for conspiracy to subvert the 2nd Amendment by their involvement in Operation Fast & Furious.

They should not be allowed to flaunt any law that I am expected to abide by. What do you think would be my fate if I violated the same laws blatantly violated by them? If you are not willing to do this then you have no right to expect me or any other American citizen to obey any law anywhere. You certainly do not have the right to expect us to honor your legislation if you cannot honor the Constitution. Do your duty, your sworn duty, to uphold the Constitution of the United States of America and stop playing word games with We the People.

I submit this in the name of the Most Holy Trinity, in faith, with the responsibility given to me by Almighty God to honor His work and not let it die from neglect.

10th Circuit Says Oklahoma’s Anti-Sharia Law Un-Constitutional

The U S 10th Circuit Court of Appeals has upheld a ruling by U S District Court Judge Vicki Miles-LeGrange that Oklahoma State Question 755, passed on November 2, 2010, is unconstitutional. The State Question was passed by 70% of the voters of the State of Oklahoma to ban the use of Shari Law, International Law, or the laws of any foreign country in the state.

The Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) filed a lawsuit saying the question discriminated against Muslims in Oklahoma. In the original filing, CAIR’s Oklahoma director called the bill a case of “anti-Muslim bigotry”.

“This is an important reminder that the Constitution is the last line of defense against a rising tide of anti-Muslim bigotry in our society, and we are pleased that the appeals court recognized that fact,” said Muneer Awad. “We are also hopeful that this decision serves as a reminder to politicians wishing to score political points through fear-mongering and bigotry.”

The 10th Circuit agreed with Judge Miles-LeGrange and upheld her ruling in an opinion released on January 10, 2012.

Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt said that states have the right to establish their own court systems and have a say in which sets of laws are followed.

“With the decision by the U.S. 10th Circuit Court of Appeals to uphold a temporary stay of State Question 755, the case will return to the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma to determine its constitutionality,” Attorney General Scott Pruitt said. “My office will continue to defend the state in this matter and proceed with the merits of the case.”

Vice President Biden Announces New Shovel-Ready Project

Joe Biden flew to Oklahoma on Tuesday to announce a brand-new stimulus effort from the Obama administration.

Previous “shovel-ready” attempts to stimulate the economy have produce no results and called into question how quickly the government can do much of anything. To prove that there are such things as shove-ready projects, Biden introduce Obama’s program to combat the startling new problem of sinkholes in Oklahoma.

“Imagine how many shovels we can put into workers hands to fill in these sinkholes! This is a big f—-in deal!” the Vice-President said.

Calling it the Sink Hole Intervention Team or the S.H.I.T. program for short, Biden pointed out the availability of both shovels and dirt in Oklahoma and said that putting the two together to fill in the gaping menaces would be a huge boost to the Sooner economy.

Explaining the sinkhole intervention techniques, Biden said that “workers can take dirt from right beside the sinkholes and fill in the chasms.” When asked what about the new holes that would result from using dirt close to the holes Biden replied, “another hole that needs another shovel – this program is just what America needs.”

Disclaimer: This post is satire – Joe Biden nor anyone else has introduced a program to fill in sinkholes using government stimulus – but I think they would if they’d thought of it first.
