Much of the conversation centered on the trifecta of scandals surrounding President Barack Obama and his administration – the Benghazi terrorist attack, IRS targeting of conservative opponents of the administration, and the Department of Justice’s collecting of phone records of reporters and editors at the Associated Press.

At one point, Morgan recalled his confrontations with gun activists and how he thought they were irrational when they referenced the fear of a tyrannical government as a point of justification during their arguments.

The British host then did an about-face and admitted that the behavior of the government throughout these scandals is bordering on tyrannical – particularly the AP scandal and how it attacks the free press.

(Richmond, VA) – “The IRS Exempt Organizations unit has violated the sacred constitutional rights of some 75 Tea Party and Patriot groups that had applied for tax-exempt status between 2009 and 2012,” said Mark Daugherty, Chairman, Virginia Tea Party Patriots Federation. “The Tea Party rejects the apology by Lois Lerner, Director, Exempt Organizations, for her department’s confirmed discrimination and illegal treatment against groups that have the words ‘Tea Party’ or ‘Patriots’ in their name,” declared Mr. Daugherty.

The Constitutional violations include.

1. First Amendment: The rights of free speech. Viewpoint discrimination.

2. Fourth Amendment: The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated.

3. Fourteenth Amendment: Equal protection of the law.

Mark Daugherty said, “This egregious behavior requires a full top-to-bottom investigation by the Inspector General of the operations and practices of the IRS Exempt Organizations unit. “Furthermore, The IRS agents, supervisors, and senior executives should be held accountable for their illegal actions.”

The Virginia Tea Party Patriots Federation notes the abusive and overtly political behavior by the IRS during the Clinton administration when critics of President Clinton were subjected to tax audits.* “This cycle of IRS abuse and illegal behavior must be stopped,” said Mark Daugherty.

The Virginia Tea Party Patriots Federation thanks the American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ) for advocating on behalf of 27 tea party groups seeking tax-exempt status, including tea party groups in Virginia.

“Several Tea Party groups in northern Virginia were discouraged from seeking tax-exempt status due to the chilling effects of the enhanced investigations by the IRS,” said Mark Daugherty. “In addition, the Shenandoah Valley Tea Party Patriots spent 26 months working through the tortuous tax-exempt process, and spent 235 hours to compile a 10-pound report measuring seven inches thick, to comply with a second-round of IRS information requests.”

Ron Wilcox, lead organizer of the Northern Va Tea Party, said, “We were discouraged from applying for tax exempt status because we knew the IRS was targeting the tea party groups for ‘special examination’ and ‘enforcement’.”

“The tea party groups targeted should also be reimbursed for the extra time and expense forced upon them in attempting to comply with these illegal, threatening mandates handed down against them by the IRS,” states Mr. Daugherty.

The Virginia Tea Party Patriots Federation is a coalition of 46 independent Tea Party and patriot groups that stand for fiscal responsibility, constitutionally-limited government, and free market principles.

Russia builds up, US cuts unilaterally

The Obama administration is preparing to announce a new round of deep, unilateral cuts in America’s nuclear arsenal, writes Bill Gertz of the Washington Times.

Writing in his weekly Inside the Ring column, Gertz states it will happen “soon” and that a Pentagon “review”, written precisely to “justify” these new, deep, unilateral cuts, will be used for that purpose. The cuts, as many outlets have already announced, may bring the arsenal to as few as 1,000 (or fewer) warheads. Gertz states this “review” was completed, and the decision to cut was made, months ago, but have been withheld from the public so far to prevent Obama from losing the 2012 presidential election.

Obama, having been reelected by the American electorate in 2012, will not to have to face voters ever again.

The result will be not just a deep, unilateral cut in America’s nuclear deterrent, but also a possible cancellation of warhead modernization programs, a replacement for the B-52′s aging cruise missiles (the B-52 has such a huge radar signature it cannot safely enter enemy airspace itself), the new “boomer” (ballistic missile submarine) class, and a plutonium pit producing facility in New Mexico, all of which were promised by Obama in 2010 during the New START ratification debate and in the New START ratification resolution. Construction of the said facility is also mandated by the FY2013 NDAA.

(NOTE: In 2010, this writer warned not to believe or accept President Obama’s modernization promises on the grounds that his word cut not be trusted under any circumstances; however, this writer’s warnings were roundly ignored and 13 Republicans foolishly voted for the treaty. Some of these Republicans are now the same individuals complaining about Obama’s failure to fulfill his promises, even though Obama never intended to keep those promises.)

Meanwhile, the Russian Ministry of Defense has announced it will continue growing its nuclear arsenal and modernizing it substantially, including the development of a new road-mobile ICBM (the Yars-M, tested successfully last year) and a rail-based ICBM (thus further adding to Russia’s arsenal of ICBMs). It also plans to develop a heavy ICBM (the “Son of Satan”) and an ICBM called the “Avangard”, as well as a “pseudo-ICBM” with a range of 6,000 kms, to counter China’s large nuclear arsenal of 3,000 warheads.

The US, on the other hand, does not have any road- or rail-mobile ICBMs and has no plans to develop any, although the USAF is studying such options.

Rail-mobile ICBMs were prohibited by the first and second START treaty, but are not forbidden by the one-sided New START treaty negotiated by the Obama State Department and signed by Obama in April 2010. Russia is now taking advantage of this huge loophole, as well as of the loophole (also found in previous START treaties) that does not count its 171 Tu-22M strategic bombers as such under these treaties. It’s also taking advantage of New START’s extremely weak verification regime, which gives it ample opportunity for cheating.

Concurrently, Russia is modernizing the other legs of its nuclear triad: its next generation bomber is scheduled to enter service in 2020 (as are the forementioned ICBMs), and the first of its new class of ballistic missile submarines, the Yuri Dolgoruki of the Borei class, joined the Russian Navy’s fleet last year.

Historically, Russia, and before it, the Soviet Union, has never complied with any arms control treaty it has signed.

Critics have charged that by cutting the US nuclear arsenal deeply and unilaterally below New START levels, Obama is inviting Russian nuclear blackmail of the US and dramatically undermining US national security, while needlessly dismantling the only weapon type that has never failed for its entire 67-year-long existence.

Dempsey appeases China

During his visit to China last week, Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Martin Dempsey, an Obama appointee, asked China for help in combating cyber attacks.

Despite the well-documented fact that many, if not most cyberattacks on the US originate from China and have been perpetrated by the PLA and other Chinese government entities, Dempsey put his faith in China’s benevolence, asking its leaders for help and proposing Sino-American “cooperation” on the matter.

Such “cooperation” would mean that Chinese government and military personnel would gain intimate access to US computer networks and thus be able to find out how to navigate – or disable – them and how to steal more information from the US government.

Yet, Gen. Dempsey called a Sino-American “working group” recently established “to combat cyber attacks” “both timely and appropriate”, and claimed that cyber attacks do as much damage to the Chinese as to the US economy.

Similarly, last year, Hillary Clinton claimed that both the US and China have been “victims of cyber attacks”, suggesting moral equivalence moral equivalence between the two countries.

Heritage Foundation analyst David Inserra commented recently:

“By turning a blind eye to China’s obvious bad cyber behavior, Dempsey and others are encouraging China to keep hacking, since there will obviously be no consequences from Washington. Even worse, by recommending more cooperation with China on this issue, the Obama Administration is actually rewarding the Chinese for their hacking by allowing them to become more familiar with our cyber systems and cybersecurity responses—and thus better prepared to spy on or disrupt them.(…)

The U.S. should change its approach to China on cybersecurity. China is not a victim on this issue; it is the perpetrator, and the U.S. should take actions that make its hacking more costly and painful—for instance, by calling out Beijing for its bad actions and ceasing to cooperate. The U.S. should also pursue legal and economic actions against Chinese companies that trade in stolen U.S. intellectual property. On top of that, the U.S. should break down Chinese censorship of the Internet and support the free flow of information within China.

Failing to change the U.S. policy toward China’s cyber crimes will only encourage more crime and attacks. It’s time to stand up to China and defend American interests.”

Ray Mabus: cutting warships, playing with boats

Navy Secretary Ray Mabus still insists on decommissioning 7 of the Navy’s newest cruisers while building 55 littoral combat ships that lack appropriate combat power, survivability, and are very vulnerable to cyber attacks.

The Navy’s released FY2014 budget proposal still insists on decommissioning the cruisers .

At the same time, Mabus insists on continuing the Littoral Combat Ship program of building 55 poorly-armed, easy-to-sink boats armed with nothing more than a gun and a few short-range missiles and costing $440 mn each, without counting the cost of their combat modules.

Mabus has hailed the LCS program as “one of our very best shipbuilding programs”, even though it is grossly overbudget and behind schedule and produces poorly-armed boats that cannot defend themselves. Think-tanks such as the CNAS and the Heritage Foundation have called for truncating LCS production.

The Navy’s own shipbuilding plans and girues also show that the service will not reach even its meagre goal – set last December – of reaching 306 ships, let alone the 313 ships the Navy said it needed as recently as December 2011. Indeed, the service’s plans show its ship fleet – especially the fleets of cruisers, destroyers, and submarines – shrinking deeply during the next 2 decades. During and after that period, the Navy’s total ship number will be significantly inflated by LCSes.

Critics, such as House Seapower and Projection Forces Subcommittee Chairman Randy Forbes (R-VA-04), have charged that the Navy is woefully underinvesting in its ship fleet and leaving it too small for the missions of today, let alone those of the future. They claim that, as the US “pivots” to the Western Pacific and continues to attempt to deter Iran in the Gulf, a large ship fleet is needed to keep the peace in both theaters, which are predominantly maritime.

Currently, the Navy is able to meet only 59% of Combatant Commanders’ requests for ships and only 61% of their requests for submarines.

Partial remedies have been suggested by think tanks such as the CNAS and Brookings. The former proposes establishing “red teams” to evaluate what it calls the “unconstrained” requirements of COCOMs, while Brookings proposes to station more warships abroad to make more available where they’re needed. It points out that one warship forward-deployed abroad (e.g. in Japan) is worth 4 warships based in the US.

Congressman Forbes proposes to increase the annual shipbuilding budget from $15 bn to $23 bn per year. That budget has been stagnant at $15 bn per year for several years.

What: Saturday nights were meant for cigars and politics.

Hear Taylor and his co-host Liz Harrison talk about everything from the past week – from politics, to news, to books, and entertainment. Whatever comes to mind, and of course, sobriety is not likely.

Tonight: Tonight, Taylor’s talking on the Boston Marathon suspected bombers, and their lovely (wacky) family. More analysis, of foreign connections, repercussions of Mirandizing the suspect, and whether or not the FBI dropped the ball.

Tonight: This administration decided it was a good idea to stay focused on gun issues, so here we go! Well, before we get to the guns, we’ll talk a bit about racism, with someone who’s trying to show that it isn’t wrong to be proud about being white. (And no, it’s not someone from that Democrat organization, the KKK!) Then we’ll have a little chat about guns, and more importantly, the way Facebook deals with gun and ammo companies on their site. So, as usual, don’t expect politically correct talk!

The more things change the more they stay the same. I am amazed at the scam Marco Rubio is trying to pull on the American people. The “Gang of 8” comes up with this great plan that will “protect We the People” while showing some “compassionate conservativism” towards those who break our immigration laws. Of course, as is the usual case, there are holes in this “plan” big enough to sail an aircraft carrier through.

This immigration surrender is something that no other nation in the world would tolerate. Once again we have a very small “gang of…” deciding the future of the nation without the consent of the citizens, you know, We the People. Marco Rubio jumped at the chance to be the front man for this affront to the Constitution and We the People, happily taking on the mantle of being Charles Schumer’s puppet. This isn’t going to help his 2016 presidential aspirations very much.

Why should We the People believe this spin job has any real truth in it? They propose to grant legal status to illegals now and spend ten years closing the border. And if the border isn’t secure in the first five years it will be turned over to a committee made up of the states? You have got to be kidding!!! Naturally, the actual legislation isn’t even written so they want to pass the outline. Give this vague idea a catchy name and vote it into law, QUICKLY!!! They can get around to writing it later. Kind of like “pass it so we can find out what is in it”, isn’t it??

I have seen all this before on the immigration issue. They talk big about how tough they are going to be on those they “pardon” because “there will be rules to abide by, steps to take”. And they expect me to believe this “new” legislation will be enforced? They actually think We the People are going to buy this clap-trap? This is not governing, this is ruling by dictate. They come out and tell us they have decided on this and demand that We the People accept it because it is “fair”. Fair to who??? Just who is this fair to???

Is it fair to the citizens who are truly poor, those who are here legally? They have broken no laws, yet cannot subsist on their own because the opportunities that haven’t been squashed directly by government bureaucratic regulations have been eroded by politicians pandering to those who did break the law to be here. Government works for government. Politicians and bureaucrats work for themselves; their power and authority, their ability to dictate how we will live our lives.

Is it fair to the retiree whose retirement savings have been frittered away by these same politicians and bureaucrats? The senior citizens who worked all their lives see the money they saved, instead of driving new cars and taking expensive vacations, stolen by those they elected to manage the country. They see their money taken by politicians and given to those who thumb their noses at our laws. Politicians in both parties worked with the “too big to fail” banks, the Wall Streeters they “hate”, and the AFL-CIO to rob seniors of their life savings.

Is it fair to the union workers, er former union workers, who have lost their jobs in the last 15 years? Is it fair to the union workers who relied on union leaders to work for the benefit of the workers, and politicians who promised to protect the jobs they eventually lost? Is it fair to the union workers who began a family, bought a new house, went too deep into debt and then had the rug pulled out from under them by union demands and bureaucratic dictates that cost them their job? Richard Trumka and the other union big shots live a lavish lifestyle while millions of former union workers scratch to get by, losing houses and possessions. These politicians and union leaders are more concerned about a bunch of illegal aliens than those they purport to represent. FAIR?? Fair to who???

All this “fairness” isn’t about fairness at all, and it isn’t about Democrat versus Republican. It is about government control of our lives and their authority over everything. Both parties are doing this to us. They both posture and bleat but in the end it is We the People who find our standard of living being reduced. They want more control of our lives and give us less voice in what goes on in our nation. These aren’t the actions of a republican form of government. These are the actions of a dictatorial oligarchy.

They, this Gang of 8, propose that we pass “new” laws and “new” regulations to fix the problems that have been caused by not enforcing the “new” laws and “new” regulations they passed the last time this came up. Both political parties are in this together. All this “bi-partisanship” is steadily eroding our standard of living and our standard of liberty.

Is anyone else seeing a pattern here? There is a problem, any problem; healthcare, immigration, firearms, welfare, etc. The problem has been addressed countless times in the past and “new laws and regulations” have been passed but not enforced each time, because those laws will be “unfair” to those breaking the law. The answer of politicians is always more control over those who actually follow the laws while turning a blind eye to those who ignore the “new” laws. Everyone knows that absolutely nothing in the current crop of new legislation will do anything to solve the problem of the illegal alien invasion.

This is but one example of many. The politicians and the bureaucrats spend all of their time thinking up ways to further restrict the rights of citizens when they should be focusing on enforcing the last set of “new” laws, rules, and regulations they passed. They admit the new laws won’t matter yet demand that those of us who do obey the law must give up our rights anyway. They need to pass this idea for a possible outline quickly, before anyone can look at it. “We have to pass it so we can find out what is in it”, AGAIN!!

The political class is destroying our nation. They never fix anything!!! They continually put restrictions on what legal citizens can do without so much as a thought of what the Constitution provides for. That “old and outdated document” means nothing to either political party, but means everything to liberty and government OF the People, BY the People, and FOR the People.

There are a few in the Senate and a few in the House who are fighting the establishments of both parties on behalf of We the People. They are being beaten down by those who control both political parties and their minions in the media. Our voices are not welcomed by Republicans or Democrats. THEY know best and THEY will “debate and tell us where THEY stand”. What about where the Constitution stands??? What about where WE THE PEOPLE stand???

They have their dictatorial oligarchy and will not turn loose of it easily. The statists who control both parties are seeing We the People stand up to their treachery and they don’t like it. They want to get things jammed through as quickly as possible, knowing that time is not on their side. We the people are fed up, standing up, and demanding they govern by the Constitution first and the will of the people second. Their creation and intense arming of DHS is the government, BOTH POLITICAL PARTIES, saying, ”NO We will NOT honor our oath to the Constitution“!!!!!

I submit this in the name of the Most Holy Trinity, in faith, with the responsibility given to me by Almighty God to honor His work and not let it die from neglect.

John McCain doesn’t understand filibustering gun control??? I am astonished at the statement, and at the same time, not the least little bit surprised by it. He really means what he says; he is oblivious, and totally flabbergasted. HE DOESN’T GET IT!!!!

He took an oath as an officer in the United States Navy to uphold the Constitution of the United States of America, and reaffirmed that oath as a member of Congress. He violates the oath of office he swore before God and the American people every day.

McCain is so hung up on the pomp and circumstance of the “debate society” known as the Senate he can’t see the Constitution. He is the consummate stuffed shirt “Duke of…” that I remember from the “swashbuckler” movies of my childhood and teens years. The government hierarchy we have now, Democrat and Republican, is just like a monarchy of old Europe.

We are not being governed by people who respect, or even have knowledge of, our founding document. We are being ruled by arrogant, pompous windbags who see themselves as set above We the People. They will do what they decide is best for us, regardless of what we want, or what the Constitution says. We are too stupid to understand liberty so they must rule our every move and have us pay them handsomely to do it. Oh, and bow to the “Senator” or “Congressman” titles they carry for life!!! They get treated like royalty by the media and they act like royalty.

The Robin Hood analogy fits with what is happening in America. Prince John is a mirror of our government of today. As a matter of fact, Prince John was the government of England at the time. Really big business, the “too big to fail” branch of business, and government are the Prince John and Sheriff of Nottingham of our day. John McCain, Lindsey Graham, and their ilk are part of the “king’s court” of Prince John. They all work together to insure they get their share of the good life in the king’s court. They are well-compensated and live a life of luxury, during and after their terms of office.

The IRS is the tax collector that Robin Hood took money from. DHS is the enforcement arm of Prince John, his army. DHS appears to be ramping up for something; buying full automatic rifles and semi-automatic pistols by the thousands, ammunition in the billions of rounds, and MRAP armored personnel carriers in the thousands. They are teaming up with local law enforcement to run drills in city streets; practicing locking down cities, “for our own protection”. Martial law, anyone??? Why would they be arming an internal military force “equal to or better than” the United States military? They aren’t likely to be rounding up illegal aliens any time in the near or distant future. Who is the internal enemy they seek to overcome with this vast firepower?

We all know that McCain is going to insure that no illegal aliens will be inconvenienced by immigration laws. He wants to wage war all over the world but refuses to secure the borders of our nation. And while spending his time worrying about the plight of people who are here illegally, McCain graciously finds enough time and energy to see to it that those of us who are here legally have no way of defending ourselves against any foe, foreign or domestic. And he just can’t understand how anyone can object!!!! Hey, “Senator”, what does the Constitution say in the 18 enumerated duties of the federal government? Is McCain a traitor or just a senile old fool who needs to go home?

McCain may be a war hero (argument starts right about here) but history tells us that Benedict Arnold was one of the most outstanding officers of the Revolutionary War. Arnold is remembered as a traitor, but before he betrayed a fledgling nation he too was a war hero. McCain and those like him see We the People as mere peasants. The royal attitude of elected politicians and their bureaucrat enforcers is a symptom of our destruction as a nation.

They are all doing this to us and any peasant with the temerity to object will be disarmed, and kept under observation should they survive the disarming. The arrogance of the federal government, and many state and local governments, is appalling. Criminals don’t follow the registration and background check laws we have now, so passing more laws won’t solve that problem. Chicago was just announced as the worst city in the nation for the prosecution of firearms law violations. They don’t prosecute the laws they have available today so let’s just have them pass some more they won’t enforce!!!!

Republicans, including “Senator” McCain, are on the verge of further restricting the rights of the law abiding citizen to own firearms, something that will do absolutely nothing to make We the People any safer. It could, however, make it much easier for enemies, both foreign and domestic (DHS, maybe??), to impose their will on We the People if they should have the inkling.

McCain and those like him in government are a disease that is killing a nation and its people. They have become so entrenched in their opulence they seem to see themselves as royalty. As the “royals” increase their own opulence and hunger for power the liberty of the peasants disappears. As personal freedoms go down the drain so does the nation.

Government produces nothing and is designed to merely be an office of We the People, not a ruling junta. McCain’s confusion about the duties of the federal government and the rights of the citizens is a danger to all of us. He either doesn’t know what the Constitution says or doesn’t care. Either way he has no business being in an elected office. Hmmm, that can be said for nearly every member of Congress and virtually all of their bureaucrat minions!!!

People who have experienced gun control beg us to not go there but we are heading there anyway, or at least the government and many citizens are going there. I’m not going there, I WILL NOT COMPLY!!!

We are on a course that destroyed the liberties, and lives, of millions of people in many countries throughout the 20th Century. If we don’t reverse course and turn our nation back to the Constitution we will soon follow the path that Mr. Martinez describes in this video. Our founders must be spinning in their graves over what is happening to the nation they sacrificed so much to establish.

Before anyone jumps up and down over this “victory” look at what has happened. The fallback position has always been universal registration, the exact position the republikrat establishment agreed to when this all started. They come to a “bi-partisan agreement” and pat each other on the back while they bask in the glow of an approving media, and We the People have just lost our 2nd Amendment rights. Universal registration will lead directly to confiscation. And confiscation has been the goal of both parties from the beginning. We are being played again, by both party establishments. Universal registration is the last nail in the coffin of the peaceful restoration of liberty in the United States of America.

As I said in my comment, there will be a big hoopla about “coming together in bi-partisanship” but what they will be celebrating is the final nail in the coffin of liberty. Once they know where the guns are they will be “Johnny on the spot” to take them away “for our own protection”. Lindsey Graham is yapping about “mental health” issues. Okay Mr. Bigshot, who decides who is “mentally stable enough” to own a firearm? Didn’t I just hear Sen. Diane Feinstein say ALL veterans were mentally unfit to own a firearm? Aren’t these the same veterans who have been fighting a real shooting war for the liberty of people, and a nation, they don’t even care about while their families are being treated like “potential” terrorists and criminals by their own government? And when they come home with chests full of medals, or not; or come home with only part of their bodies intact, they come home to a government that considers them “potential” terrorists and criminals? The word “potential” seems to be tossed out by liberals for P C purposes only.

When California’s lame excuse for confiscating guns becomes a nationwide effort, directed and/or supported by the federal government, the opportunity for a peaceful solution is gone. Some state governments are ignoring citizens on this and a variety of other issues. People in both parties at the state level are bowing to the national party apparatus in passing legislation and regulations. Some local law enforcement departments are taking military vehicles and weapons being “given” to them by the federal government, to be used against citizens not criminals. Others are pledging to stand for the Constitution and fight the federal government if they try to disarm citizens. All levels of government are being driven by the Republican National Committee and the Democrat National Committee, and their behind the scenes handlers.

Make no mistake, when they have firearm registration where they want it they will be using those 2700 armored, mine-proof, small arms proof, “Urban Rescue Vehicle” mini-tanks that have gun ports all around . There are UN troops and equipment scattered all over the country “being trained” by our military. The drug cartels and Islamic armies are sitting in Mexico waiting for confiscation to come about so they will have an unchallenged rampage over We the People.

Americans, do you ever ask yourself why we have hundreds of thousands of military people scattered all around the world and how many billions of dollars we spend supporting them while our southern border is declared unsafe for American citizens to visit? Why is it that nothing gets done about the illegal alien invasion, by either political party? Why is it the Department of Homeland Security is arming to the teeth; to wage war against its citizens maybe? Why is Fast & Furious not pursued to a conclusion by Republicans?

We are on the precipice of losing what liberty we have left. When Congress succeeds in reaching a “bi-partisan agreement on ‘common sense’ gun control” they will have succeeded in gutting the 2nd Amendment and it doesn’t take much imagination to know how it will go when it hits the Supreme Court. The court is packed with liberals, although some were disguised as conservatives at the time of their appointment.

The pretense is now gone!!! Politicians are brazenly going against the Constitution, and imposing a dictatorship on the citizens of the United States. They will still mince words and posture for their adoring media when they come to an agreement but the media isn’t really on the side of We the People are they?

The passage of universal registration will begin the final descent into the fight between good and evil, a fight between liberty and tyranny that is beyond solving with words. And you can be assured that Republicans will compromise on “common sense gun control measures”. Some people will give up their firearms but most won’t. The political parties have come out united in their desire to impose their will on the American people and We the People will resist the dictatorship with every asset at our disposal. What will ensue at this point is a blood bath as We the People do our best to defend our liberties against a tyrannical government made up of the political class in both parties. The politicians know this, hence the massive efforts to disarm the populace. How else can it end if they impose universal registration? Few in either political party will truly stand up for the Constitution and We the People.

This isn’t rocket science, it is history. Look at the history of 20th Century dictatorships:

Ottoman Turks: 1.5 – 2 million Armenians disarmed and murdered

Lenin/Stalin: 26 million Russian citizens disarmed and murdered

Adolph Hitler: 21 million German and occupied nation citizens disarmed and murdered

Mao Tse Tung: 35 million Chinese citizens murdered

And it goes on from here, Cambodia, Cuba, Vietnam, Rwanda, and others; with an estimated 262 million people killed by their own governments in the 20th Century. They have the armored cars, sophisticated military equipment, and armed drones fill the skies of America. They have the people in the form of UN soldiers, muslim terrorists, and drug cartel members ready to carry out the genocide once they have successfully disarmed We the People.

Don’t think for a moment it can’t or won’t happen here. They are well into the process. Our government is declaring war on the “enemies of the state”, patriots who desire only to live in peace with the liberty given to us by Almighty God and guaranteed in the Constitution, and specifically in the Bill of Rights.

I submit this in the name of the Most Holy Trinity, in faith, with the responsibility given to me by Almighty God to honor His work and not let it die from neglect.

The situation in our nation today takes me back many years to the early days of a sit-com called “The Beverly Hillbillies”. I remember the Clampetts hooking up with “Honest John” Shafer, played by long time comedian Phil Silvers. “Honest John” sold them every monument in Washington, D C (De Cesspool). Those “dumb ole’ Clampetts” just kept giving “Honest John” Shafer checks made out to “C.A.S.H.” If you grew up with the Clampetts, Milburn Drysdale, and Jane Hathaway you will understand. Congress and the ruling elite are “Honest John” Shafer and We the People are the Clampetts. We are being conned by experts who make it their lifelong career to scam us into giving them everything we have while thinking they are taking care of us and “looking out for our best interests”.

Senator Tom Coburn (R-Ok) has come out with what he calls “Back in Black: A Deficit Reduction Plan”. In this plan Coburn points out numerous places where millions of our tax dollars are wasted. But who else in Congress has looked at his plan? What leadership, in either party, has paid one second of attention to it? They ignore it because Coburn’s plan will actually benefit the “Clampetts” to the detriment of “Honest John Shafer”!!

This is our problem, America. We have a plan to cut $9 trillion dollars without cutting back on anything that is necessary for life in America to improve. We sit here and watch Obama, then Boehner, then Reid, then McConnell, then Pelosi, then the usual Idiot Corp of the government bureaucracy stroll out to tell We the People how much we are going to suffer. They are even worried about the Island of Guam tipping over. Oh, wait, that was last time. This time Maxine Waters said we were going to lose 170 million of the 140 million jobs currently in the United States. Again I quote the Aflac duck:” HUH?????????”

So, I am wondering why, when Sen. Coburn has this long list of waste items that can be cut, that none of these cuts ever get made? Why doesn’t either political party make even the most minor of efforts to remove this wasteful spending? Why is it that every time we come to this point, as we do on a regular basis, it is always the same things being cut, always the things that are going to cause the most pain to the lives of We the People? Why are we giving billions of dollars to Egypt in the form of Abrams tanks and F-16 Falcon fighter/bombers? Why are we giving arms and money to the Syrian ”rebels”, actually Al Qaeda, when that money could stop the closure of airports, daycare centers, free medical clinics, etc.? Compassion for the poor??

And, what about the billions being given to the United Nations? What about the foreign aid to Saudi Arabia? Saudi Arabia???? Don’t they make trillions every year selling us oil at preposterous rates???? These things can’t be cut but we can cut money going to Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, soldiers and sailors serving their nation in far off lands? Come on America, don’t tell me you still buy this crap from these party oriented confidence men!!!!

Ladies and Gentlemen of America, you are being conned by people who only care about themselves; their power, their prestige, and how they are going to continue to rule us. Our nation is being bled dry; financially, morally, and Constitutionally by people in both political parties who care nothing about We the People, the Constitution, and the future of our Republic.

Barack Obama continues to fly around the nation at great expense. Nothing is too grand for “der leader”!!! No one in Congress, other than Rand Paul and Tom Coburn, has cut any money out of their office budgets to turn back to We the People. No one in “leadership” has done anything to actually lead by example. Michelle Obama sticks her nose into anything and everything like she is royalty. We daily hear all the horror stories about how America is going to suffer; yet we spend $1.4 BILLION per year to keep “The Jeffersons” in the White House, not to mention their numerous Five-Star resort vacation trips and separate planes for the family dog!!! Don’t tell me we can’t cut expenses without hurting the citizens!!!

Sen. Coburn has the answers to many of our problems right there in his “black book” but no one in the leadership of either political party will allow any of it to come up for consideration. Why does this go on if they are as concerned as they all say they are about the well-being of American citizens? Well, I guess the political class does have an answer, more government; more of what caused the problems in the first place.

This is a Republican Party problem; this is a Democrat Party problem; this is a political opportunism problem. Political opportunists in both parties are pitting We the People against one another. The political ruling class has joined forces to frighten and intimidate citizens into acquiescing to their agenda of continued tighter control of our lives.

I wrote a few days ago about the need for a political party to represent the 67% of We the People who identify as TEA Party conservatives. Neither political party has shown any desire to actually fix the problems our nation faces. It is more about pointing fingers and placing blame so nothing ever gets fixed. There are good people in Washington but they are outnumbered terribly. They need us as much as we need them. We are a team!!!

There is a light at the end of the tunnel still. I am proud of and encouraged by my fellow Americans who are stepping up now. The sheriffs and police chiefs who have pledged to refuse to disarm citizens are a breath of freedom. We need a wholesale change of perspective, to one based on The Constitution. I see it beginning at the county level with these sheriffs and their constituents. We can take this unity to Washington if we will band together in mutual protection, and support those people in Congress who will speak out for us. This is a call to action for YOU. Contact your Senator, your Congressman, and demand they get on board with this.

I submit this in the name of the Most Holy Trinity, in faith, with the responsibility given to me by Almighty God to honor his work and not let it die from neglect.

This was originally posted April 09, 2011 during that threat of government shutdown. It’s regrettable the American people are rounding this corner again. The sharp contrast of lost standards from a mere two-years ago reflects how Obama has effectively “nudged” a serious deterioration of American expectations. This is a most shameful course of action for any American President.

The president has enormous personal discretion in deciding ‘who’ and ‘what’ gets paid during a government shutdown. He can use that discretion to turn a government shutdown into a favorable or unfavorable event for The People; or, as has been the case with this president, to use it against The People to propagandize his own political gain. Legal authorities have suggested this behavior is impeachable. Bring it on.

Those certain to be paid without interruption are the politicians: The White House, Congress and their staffs. Most of us don’t know that “furloughed” federal employees are typically paid retroactively anyway. Of late we’ve been told federal employees were furloughed only to find they didn’t work but they did continue to receive pay. This sheds a glaring light on Obama’s self-serving propensity for imposing harships on people of an entire country, purely for sake of his personal pleasure and propagandizing political gain.

The big question in 2011′s government shutdown was, how does an American President possibly justify denying pay to troops who are defending our country; and to our most vulnerable elderly who’ve built it? Who among us could possibly condone such acts?

Prior administrations have generally accepted that the following services remain uninterrupted:

Services funded by permanent appropriations that don’t expire; and some services funded by annual appropriations, “if there’s a reasonable and articulable connection between the function to be performed and the safety of human life or the protection of property.”

Services that legally require new appropriations, having expired during a shutdown, can be extended, such as “national security, law enforcement and medical care for those already in hospitals, as well as some that many might find both surprising and infuriating, like ‘the conduct of foreign relations’.” Services requiring new appropriations are the government services most typically subject to shutdown. This president has proven his decisions as anything but “typical.”

Stan Collender of Capital Gains and Games of Roll Call, a political and economic news source, wrote “President has the Upper Hand in a Shutdown.” The article discusses a president’s wide range of personal discretion (excerpted below). It is appalling how much Obama has so radically altered this rationale from a mere two-years ago when first reported:

The Obama administration will have enormous discretion in other ways. Whole departments, agencies and programs are not automatically exempt just because they fall into one of the categories, it will be up to the White House to decide which activities will be conducted if a shutdown actually occurs.

The administration is also free to reject precedents for reasons that include economic and technological changes, new programs and functions, political hardball, and more.

The bottom line about a federal government shutdown is simple: The president has far more room to maneuver and is in a much better position to take control of the situation than Congress. As Clinton showed in 1995 and 1996, when he reclassified some programs several weeks into the fight so that they could operate despite originally being on the shutdown list, the White House even has the ability to change its determinations.

The same information was consistently available from a variety of news sources, the below excerpted from “Administration Paints Picture of Possible Government Shutdown” by Kimberly Schwandt of Fox News:

The Obama administration clarified the scope of the potential government shutdown saying that it would impact about 800,000 employees and stop services like IRS paper filling and returns, and close institutions like the Smithsonian.

A senior administration official also said that military personnel would continue to earn money, however they wouldn’t actually receive it until the government is funded again. They’ll be receiving full pay checks until April 8.

There are two areas that guide who will stay working. Government activities will stay open that:

1) Have alternative funding – like user fees or appropriations that aren’t renewed every year.

2) Are necessary for safety of life and protection of property.

Here’s a snapshot of what else stays open and what closes during this potential shutdown:

800,000 federal employees (the same as 1995) the official says is the “vicinity” of workers who would be affected.

Military members will continue get paid through April 8th, but after that are only earning and will get money when the government is funded again.

What services will be suspended? IRS filings with paper claims won’t be processed and audits will also be stopped. Electronic claims will continue. Small business loans and Federal House Administration mortgages will also be halted. (The official noted that FHA had 12 percent of housing market in 1995, and now it’s up to 30 percent)

Another excellent source is by Ed O’keefe at Federal Eye entitled “Government Shutdown: Facts and Figures.” These linked articles provide important, additional information about what is and is not typical in government shutdowns.

In 2011 I wanted to know why Obama, at his personal discretion, routinely opted not to keep paychecks going to our Troops overseas and during his “Kinetic Military Action?” Did he forget he’s supposed to be their “Commander In Chief” and the responsibilities that job truly entails? Did he ever know? Or is it as simple as it seems: Obama only knows how to use those around him in appeasing himself?

Given the countless lies this administration told in trying to ramp up fake consequences of the Sequester, we no longer have to ask these questions. If by now you are not indignantly insulted by the fools this president plays us, nothing can help. These are Obama’s personal choices. It cannot be any more clear than it is why he’s making personal choices that are directly aimed at denegrating us as a people. It is what it is. He is what he is.

Marco Rubio endorsing it wholeheartedly. Immigration keeps the United States economically vibrant, unlike Europe, which has become older, grayer, and more Islamized. We should welcome immigrants, but not at the cost of undermining our economic interests – which is what NumbersUSA, an organization dedicated to common sense immigration reform, is trying to tell members of Congress. I was able to speak with Rosemary Jenks, NumbersUSA’s Director of Government Relations, about the new proposal last night.

On NumbersUSA’s website, they lay out the details of the package:

1. Create a tough but fair path to citizenship for unauthorized immigrants currently living in the United States that is contingent upon securing our borders and tracking whether legal immigrants have left the country when required;

2. Reform our legal immigration system to better recognize the importance of characteristics that will help build the American economy and strengthen American families;

3. Create an effective employment verification system that will prevent identity theft and end the hiring of future unauthorized workers; and,

4. Establish an improved process for admitting future workers to serve our nation’s workforce needs, while simultaneously protecting all workers.

It doesn’t sound like snake oil, but anything from government that sounds too good to be true – tends to be that way. Case in point, the passing of Obamacare. However, to low-information voters, or those who aren’t privy to immigration data, it represents, as Jenks said:

…part of the problem with the immigration debate because when you see an outline of a proposal, and you don’t know a whole lot about the issue, it tends to look pretty reasonable. It’s only when you get into the details that things start to fall apart. So, you know for example – the bottom line is that this proposal is virtually identical to the proposal from the Gang of Eight in 2007. And I actually like Sen. Sessions’s title for them better, which is “masters of the universe.” They basically have been meeting behind closed doors. They don’t allow anyone else into the meetings – anyone who might disagree with them – and then they come out with this grand announcement, and assume that everyone will fall in line and vote for it. But the problem is that this proposal is not well thought out in terms of what’s best for America. And part of the reason for that is that involved in their little secret meetings, and closed-door negotiations, are groups like the AFL-CIO, the Chamber of Commerce, and organized religion, the ethnic advocacy groups – special interest groups have all had their say, but the one group that’s always left out of these negotiations is the America people. So, here we go again – starting this whole process, and we’re looking at essentially the same proposals with the same meaningless so-called triggers that aren’t actually triggers – and massive amnesty.

Closed-door negotiations? It’s a bit ironic that comprehensive immigration reform that intends to keep us an open, immigrant friendly nation needs to be fleshed out in secret meetings. However, what shocked me was the involvement of the AFL-CIO. The Democratic wing that’s beholden to union interests have usually opposed illegal immigration since they allow, for example, contractors to underbid union contracts. Why are they for amnesty? Jenks explains that:

basically, the unions have an interest in amnesty because immigrants, legal or illegal, is the only growing population of union-dues paying members. If they want to continue their dues, the need to legalize the illegal population to keep them here, keep them unionized, and keep them paying dues. So in exchange for that amnesty, they’ve made a deal with the Chamber of Commerce, in which the unions give up on guest workers – to get amnesty – and the Chamber gives them amnesty to get guest workers. So, everybody wins, except the American worker.

However, Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) did say, at the close of the press conference yesterday, that the proposal will tie immigration the influx of legal immigration to the nation’s unemployment rate. However, Jenks wasn’t convinced that this item in the package will be taken seriously.

Well, the fact that they’re talking about giving expedited amnesty to AG workers [agricultural workers] and to dreamers – and then some kind of extended amnesty to all of the rest of the eleven million illegal aliens in the country, despite the fact that we have 7.9% unemployment tells me whatever they have in mind for the future is certainly not going to happen because they’ve already vastly exceeded the ability of our economy to employ these people. We’ve already got twenty million Americans who can’t find full-time jobs. So, we’re going to add eleven million more?

The growth industries in the U.S. economy are mostly highly skilled, high-tech occupations. So, why would we then be giving a massive amnesty –expedited amnesty – to AG workers, and creating a new guest worker program for low-skilled labor? It doesn’t make sense. We should be reforming our legal immigration system to meet the needs of the 21st century. Instead of doing that, they’re basically just packing on a whole bunch of new programs that will continue to flood the labor market, primarily the low-skill labor market, and increase the competition for our own most vulnerable workers. And who’s going to pay for it? The taxpayers.

Yet, Brad Plumer posted on The Washington Post’s WonkBlog yesterday – and said that illegal immigration has “slowed since 2007.” So, what’s the big deal? Isn’t that a positive indicator?

there has been – it appears – through some Census data – that the number of new illegal aliens coming into the United States slowed somewhat during the recession, but there’s also evidence that the number has started to pick up again. It’s entirely possible that’s because of all this talk of amnesty – but the bottom line is illegal immigration is going to be affected by some small degree by economic changes in the United States. But the fact is that the illegal population has stayed at about an estimated eleven million. It hasn’t actually dropped. We still have a huge problem, and you can’t stop illegal immigration by redefining it as legal. That’s not a long-term solution.

What alternative policy does NumbersUSA endorse to solve this crisis? Jenks said that since its inception, NumbersUSA has supported the proposals laid out from the 1995 U.S. Commission on Immigration Reform, which was chaired by former Texas Congresswoman Barbara Jordan. Jordan, a Democrat, and her commission had these key points in their report.

a scale back of family chain-migration by implementing a prioritization of family relationships to determine who will be admitted through family-based immigration. Spouses and minor children of US citizens would continue to be admitted as first priority;

elimination of other family-based admission categories, including:

Adult, unmarried sons and daughters of U.S. citizens;

Adult, married sons and daughters of U.S. citizens;

Adult, unmarried sons and daughters of legal permanent residents; and

Siblings of U.S. citizens.

a focus on the admission of highly-skilled individuals to support the national interest by bringing to the U.S. individuals whose skills would benefit our society. Recommended the elimination of the admission of unskilled workers and elimination of the diversity visa lottery;

immigration admissions level of 550,000 per year, to be divided as follows:

Nuclear family immigration 400,000;

Skill-based immigration 100,000;

Refugee resettlement 50,000.

Stressed deportation is crucial. Credibility in immigration policy can be summed up in one sentence: those who should get in; those who should be kept out, are kept out; and those who should not be here will be required to leave.

Without a doubt, amnesty will be unpalatable to Republicans in the House. As a naturalized citizen, who immigrated via adoption from South Korea, I want America to remain an open nation. However, there are rules. It’s unfair to the legal immigrants to be cast aside because millions of illegals broke the law. They’ve waited patiently, and now they’re about to be cut in line. There’s something unethical about it, but we shall see how conservatives react to this new amnesty push – even with the stringent standards attached to the pathway to citizenship.

Reported yesterday: “[Obama's] new litmus test of leadership in the military is if they will fire on US citizens… . Those who will not are being removed.”

Obama is drenched in Americans’ skepticism about potential for martial law. Gun control fanatics have given more rise to what many perceive as an imminent possibility. Americans’ concerns first arose in 2008 when Obama spoke about instituting “a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded” as our military. Given similar statements he’d made that ultimately were not what Americans believed his words meant (known as “information dominance”) such as “fundamentally transforming America,” Americans are right to remain concerned.

Subsequently in 2010′s Health Care Bill Obama provided for a “Ready Reserve Corps,” dismissed by some as simply being comprised of health care professionals in event of catastrophe. Since then questionable images have surfaced of Obama’s “civilian army” comprising young black chanting thugs quite unlike any military Americans have ever known. That was enhanced by Obama’s official statements defining “Veterans” and “Christians” as “domestic terrorists;” and by now the well known FEMA Camps that make no practical sense. Admittedly, two-years later Americans still know very little about just what is in the Health Care legislation – and why – so these legitimate questions do persist.

A year or more ago it was reported in legitimate Conservative news that Obama was infiltrating our nation’s military with street thugs, changing its composition with characters who’d have less discipline and no particular loyalty to the American People. I find this believable not only because of its source but mostly because Obama has, on many occasions, indulged in and allowed thuggary and, through his silence on a grand scale, has further encouraged it in his governing of America. Those behavioral examples speak loudly, as they should, regardless of the words being used.

Americans have taken comfort in believing our military will stand with us, they having sworn duty to our Constitution, not to any one president or his ideology. The formation of Oath Keepers gave us some reassurance. Oath Keepers had their first annual conference in 2009, understandably so given Obama’s wholly unAmerican handling of the Health Care Bill despite majority demands of The American People in opposing it. From the Oath Keepers site:

Oath Keepers is a non-partisan association of current and formerly serving military, reserves, National Guard, veterans, Peace Officers, and Fire Fighters who will fulfill the Oath we swore … to support and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic, so help us God. Our Oath is to the Constitution.

On Monday Dr. Jim Garrow, a well-respected man dedicated to rescuing infant girls from China’s one-child policy and Nobel Peace Prize nominee, reportedly posted on Facebook:

I have just been informed by a former senior military leader that Obama is using a new “litmus test” in determining who will stay and who must go in his military leaders. Get ready to explode folks. “The new litmus test of leadership in the military is if they will fire on US citizens or not.” Those who will not are being removed.

When asked who his source was Garrow reportedly answered: “The man who told me this is one of America’s foremost military heroes.” Read Garrow’s Amazon bio here. The Examiner reported on this yesterday, adding:

This comes on the heels of Sunday’s report in the Washington Free Beacon (WFB) that the head of Central Command, Marine Corps Gen. James Mattis is being dismissed by Obama and will leave his post in March.

Lest we forget the three high-ranking Generals plus an Admiral who were inexplicably and untimely unseated from their positions immediately following Obama and Hillary Clinton’s “stand-down” orders in Lybia; and their nonsensical lies about a little-known “film” that clearly did not lend to that great American tragedy. Reports of inordinately replacing these officials were buried, curiously superseded by the just as suspicious “scandal” surrounding Lybia and our otherwise renown for his ethics general, General Patraeus.

Oh what a wicked web we weave when we seek first to deceive. God bless our Oath Keepers. God bless America.

As election day draws near and the presidential campaigns execute their final strategies the winds of success appear to be at the backs of the Romney/Ryan team, and it’s not too imperious to envisage a Romney/Ryan victory. It appears that a significant part of the electorate agrees with the title of Niall Ferguson’s cogent essay entitled “Obama’s Gotta Go”. As we eagerly await their promising triumph on November 6th and, risking impetuousness, we deign to contemplate what a Romney presidency will resemble in its maiden year.

From any perspective, looking forward, President Romney will undoubtedly have to play the part of America’s master repairman. He has the unenviable task of repaving America’s avenue of exceptionalism, a road rendered potholed and fractured by the Obama administration. There are considerable fixes Romney the new renovator-in-chief must undertake, and if anyone is deserved of a “blame Obama” free pass it will be the new Chief Executive. But leaders don’t blame, they take responsibility for their actions, so it’s doubtful President Romney will exhibit behavior beneath his character and the office of the presidency.

President Romney will have to refurbish America’s ruptured domestic economic environment laden with Obama’s absurdist wealth redistribution policies and profligate spending sprees. He will have to remake a hegemonic America in decline due to President Obama’s feckless appeasement of America’s enemies and indifference and disregard towards its allies. But perhaps President Romney’s most daunting task for renovating America’s path of exceptionalism will be to restore a united America torn asunder by an Obama-led class warfare crusade. A crusade pitting American against American to assuage his personal disdain for a hallmark of Americanism embodied by the freedom loving rugged individualist who takes personal responsibility for their successes and failures. These are the very Americans President Obama fears and derides because he cannot control their independent spirit, intimidate their freedom of thought, nor render insecure their confident natures.

While a Romney presidency is committed to a renewal of American exceptionalism, the Obama presidency is only a remembrance of unfulfilled promise. The 2008 Obama pledges are legendary for their hollowness and now have the status of a parlor joke, to wit, “how is that hope and change working out for you?” Space does not permit the entire smorgasbord of utopias (over 500 by some accounts) offered up by candidate and President Obama. But because of their far-reaching consequences a few warrant call outs to capture the essence of his disappointing term. Candidate Obama professed he would revolutionize American governance by replacing backroom political cronyism with a presidency that would be “the most transparent administration in the history of our country”. It was candidate Obama who swore that he would reduce the national deficit in half by the end of his first term. In 2009 President Obama guaranteed that unemployment would be at 5.2% at the end of his first term and there would be 3% to 4% GDP growth in the final three years of his first term. There were the President’s infamous assurances that his ObamaCare legislation would be budget neutral, reduce premium costs and allow individuals to keep their existing coverage. The President avowed he would commence a “new beginning” between America and the Arab world through his policies of appeasement toward America’s enemies. These and the preponderance of other hopeful pieces of paradise promised by an Obama presidency are relegated to a wasteland of deceit and deception.

Obama partisans are chock full of excuses for the president’s fiascos. Some justify President Obama’s failures due to his executive inexperience, so perhaps Mr. Obama ran afoul of one of the cardinal rules of business, which is to never over promise and under deliver. But his devotees also plead that now since that he has gotten his feet wet give him four more years. But, to quote one of Vice-President Joe Biden’s few lucid remarks, “…the presidency is not something that lends itself to on-the-job training.” Some of the president’s acolytes have chalked up his failures as a consequence of his predecessor’s policies igniting the “blame Bush” strategy. If that is at play, and since every president inherits some undesirable policies and unfavorable domestic and geo-political environments, then it is reason enough to man the Oval office with someone who can live up to the challenges of the presidency. Finally, in keeping with the Obama finger-pointing presidency, the President’s disciples accuse the republicans in congress of partisanship and obstruction. This is mendacious and preposterous given that the Obama policies, which laid the groundwork for America’s current decline, were undertaken in the President’s first two years in office, a period in which the democrats controlled both the Senate and the House of Representatives.

The Obama presidency was unique for both it’s promise and it’s fortification. Without any notable experience to speak of on the part of candidate Obama an adoring mainstream media colluded with an ingenious presidential campaign to successfully fabricate the illusion of a candidate that was infallible and omnipotent. Candidate Obama was lauded and praised as the savior for the woes of the American Republic and he would right the injustices of the past with a wave of his majestic hand. From the failed, pork ridden stimulus to the Benghazi tragedy with flyovers to ObamaCare, Solyndra and his Middle East “American Apology Tour” the media’s coddling continued into his presidency while President Obama’s advisers strove feverishly to enable, defend and rationalize his failures. But the President’s aura of entitlement and enablement were ironically the causes of his failures and disappointments.

However it was how he failed that signifies the tragedy of his presidency. America’s post-modern presidential version of the “emperor with no clothes” luxuriated in praise and fumed at criticism. Handed every opportunity to succeed he stubbornly ignored the obvious manifestations of his failed socialist ideologies. He dug in his heels insisting on an economic agenda that wreaked havoc and misery on the middle class, the very group he claimed to champion in his class warfare campaign. His lethargic foreign engagement characterized as “leading from behind” emboldened America’s enemies resulting in a much more dangerous and tumultuous world for America than when he took office.

In spite of the dangers to America’s economic and international well being, the future of the Republic and his disregard for his oath of office the President was obdurate in his single mindedness. The Constitution is clear as to the president’s responsibilities and President Obama disregarded his solemn oath which was “to the best of my ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States.” Perhaps it is his ability that is at issue.

But the time for entertaining excuses or conjecture is over. In the parlance of the President’s many “let me be clear” moments it is now history’s time to write the Obama epitaph. Historians, unlike the President’s sycophants, will not justify his failures nor inoculate his shortcomings. As with all Presidents Mr. Obama’s presidency will be reviewed and recollected historically on the merits of his accomplishments. He was dealt a hand that he willingly accepted and he failed to deliver. It was President Obama’s personal decision to selfishly satiate his personal dogmata at the expense of his sworn responsibility to act as steward of America’s welfare. For that reason he shall not be forgiven, and for that reason the Obama presidency’s epitaph will forever be known as an unredeemed presidency.

There’s a belief in popular culture that the federal government attempts to conceal as much of the truth as possible and only puts out what the public wants to hear.

This needs to be avoided with Benghazi. The whole truth has to come out. There is too much conflicting information. The Pentagon appears to be blaming the State Department. The State Department blames the CIA and the White House. The CIA appears to blame the Defense Department, the White House and State Department. The White House has been noticeably silent. A special investigation team needs to look into which information is true and which isn’t.

Capitol Hill doesn’t always appear interested in doing this. It seems more interested in keeping the status quo and avoiding accountability as much as possible.

This probably started with the Warren Commission looking into the assassination of President Kennedy, but the best example is the Watergate investigation. That was shut down after President Ford pardoned President Nixon to get the case over with as quickly as possible. Ford was hoping to keep Nixon’s name from being dragged any further through the mud. It may have been noble reasoning, but was ultimately irresponsible.

It also set a dangerous precedent the presidency has been willing to go along with time and time again. In the Iran Contra scandal, President George H.W. Bush pardoned Defense Secretary Casper Weinberger before he could go up to trial. In the end, only Oliver North and John Poindexter were tried and convicted. Both convictions were thrown out on appeal and independent counsel Lawrence Walsh declined to continue the investigation.

During the Whitewater scandal, both Bill and Hillary Clinton were able to avoid charges. President Clinton was later impeached for lying under oath, but that related to the Monica Lewinsky affair. A part of the failure of the Whitewater investigation could be because ex-Arkansas Governor Jim Guy Tucker, Webster Hubbell and Susan McDougal refused to cooperate with Independent Counsel Kenneth Starr. Clinton later pardoned McDougal. Another part is the decision by the Clintons to fight the Whitewater investigation tooth and nail, instead of cooperating with it. Starr’s successor, Robert Ray, admitted he was pressured to come up with a deal with President Clinton so he wouldn’t be indicted further.

These examples make it seem like there’s no accountability in the White House. Instead, it shows presidents are willing to use their political positions to either protect themselves, their friends or their previous bosses from accepting responsibility.

Congress is no better.

During the investigation into Louisiana Congressman William Jefferson, Congress criticized the Justice Department for their “aggressive raid” on Jefferson’s office. Wisconsin Congressman James Sensenbrenner wanted to hold hearings on whether the FBI had trampled on the Constitution for their actions. Jefferson was later convicted of bribery and sentenced to 13 years in prison.

After Peter Schweizer’s fantastic 2011 book on insider trading in Washington DC called “Throw Them All Out,” Congress was criticized for not passing strong enough insider trading prevention laws. Schweizer himself criticized the SEC for not indicting any members of Congress during the hearing on the law. Congresswoman Maxine Waters was able to avoid ethics charges for helping OneUnited Bank get money from TARP. These are examples of members of Congress deciding not to police themselves and hold each other to the highest standard possible.

These types of situations do nothing to end the notion that Washington politicians are more interested in protecting their own, instead of working for the people who elected them.

The good news is there are people in Congress who want the truth to get out. California Congressman Darrell Issa, South Carolina Congressman Trey Gowdy, Utah Congressman Jason Chaffetz and Kentucky Senator Rand Paul have all been at the forefront of the Benghazi situation demanding answers. This is a good thing. Their calls for an investigation even have House Speaker John Boehner demanding answers. There need to be more people like Issa, Gowdy, Chaffetz and Paul willing to do this.

Congress has to investigate the situation involving Benghazi, regardless of who wins the presidency. Ignoring it would deny the truth not only to the families of the four killed but also the American people, who have been lied to.
