Contempt of Congress charges are being levied against U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder because he is a champion “supporting measures to overturn these voter-suppression initiatives in the states”. So says Former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi.
A “progressive” has spoken. End of story.
It is absolutely inconceivable that contempt of Congress charges could be over secret documents pertaining to the murder of Border Patrol agent Brian Terry. It certainly could not have anything to do with weapons lost in the botched Fast and Furious gunrunning operation. Not in any way, shape or form. Not no way, not no how. Such conclusions are completely out of the question. To even suggest such possibilities prove beyond all reasonable doubt that you are indisputably a closed minded, razor toothed racist vampire who is exactly like that evil, lily white, ship jobs overseas vulture capitalist Mitt Romney. You have always been a racist. You will always be a racist. Your parents were racists. Your children will be racists. You are in love with your racism. You are proud of your racist views. You hope your racist views and ways will spread across the country and ideally, the entire world.
Welcome to the “progressive” States of America, where race isn’t everything, it’s the only thing.
Never mind that on the subject of race Eric Holder called the United States “a nation of cowards”. In case the subtlety escapes you, Holder thinks the entire nation is racist. Of course for Holder, racists are white by definition.
Forever erase from your memory the fact that Eric Holder dismissed a slam dunk case of voter intimidation committed by member of the New Black Panthers Party in Philadelphia during the 2008 election. That there are eye witnesses and video evidence showing that they were in uniform, wielding clubs and verbally taunting potential voters proves nothing.
Forget that the U.S. Department of Justice is suing Arizona and other States because they are acting responsibly by protecting U.S. Citizens from invasion. In the “progressive” States of America, that too is racist.
Ensuring voter integrity in American elections by carefully reviewing voter rolls in order to root out fraudulent votes is forbidden. To engage in such activity is…yes, you guessed it…racist!
Perhaps it would be a useful to take this exercise to its inevitable conclusion:
If you wear white sneakers instead of ones of color, you must be racist. If you wear a white t-shirt instead of one of color, you are clearly a racist. If you drive a white car instead of one of color, you simply must be a proud, long practicing racist…especially if your car has whitewall tires. Any and all students who write on white notepads instead of ones of color must be racists. All places of residence where the walls are painted with white paint are populated by racists. Watching a movie or television show starring Betty White? Sitting on a white toilet seat? Using the white pages in the phone book? Wearing white socks and underwear? Reading books containing white pages? Knowing someone whose last name is White? Using white copy paper? Those vendors who mail their customers telephone, gas and electric bills in white envelopes? Drying your hands with a white towel? Puffy white clouds in the sky?
You guessed it: morally reprehensible.
Considering the clearly racist clothing policy practiced by the Wimbledon tennis tournament, it is easy to understand obama’s resentment towards and dislike for the British.
It would be suitable to refer to an old fable about the boy who cried wolf, but that would open the floodgates for charges of racism over use of the term “boy”.
Yes, we’ve been saying it all along that Obama and the three-ring circus, otherwise known as his administration, and the Democrats on the Hill, are absolutely delusional. In what should be a futile attempt to protect Attorney General Eric Holder, Nancy Pelosi stepped in it yet again.
Yes, she really is that stupid. No, Nancy, this doesn’t have a damn thing to do with the latest manufactured nonsense from the Democrats about voter suppression. This is about the fact that there is a mother and father out there that wants to know the truth about what happened to their son. But hey, I guess we can give you a pass on the finer points here, since the Obama Administration in general can’t seem to remember that border patrol agent’s name in the first place.
His name is Brian Terry, and he was killed with weapons that Attorney General Eric Holder authorized to be sent across the border, and handed to drug cartels in Mexico. It’s one name, and it’s been repeated countless times in the past 18 months. We all know you’re all a little mentally inept there in the White House, but really? Well, maybe you should get a pass on that as well, since even your own mouthpieces in the press can’t get the story straight.
I guess we can take at least a little solace in the fact that AG Holder was finally cornered on his little blame game. Yes, he finally did acknowledge under oath that “Fast and Furious” was not the same as “Wide Receiver”, but given the history of this administration so far, don’t expect that is the end of the “Blame Bush” meme on this case.
Now, if we expect the Obama Administration to be honest about this case, we’re just as delusional as they are. Perhaps the most disturbing fact in all of this is the apathy surrounding the situation. While it should be, it is not being compared with Watergate. We should be listening to men like Fred Thompson, and more importantly, acting. No, “Fast and Furious” is not a distraction. Yes, the Romney campaign should be focusing primarily on the economy, however some time should be dedicated to this case. It is not just about getting closure for Brian Terry’s family. It is about an administration that has overstepped the bounds, and placed our border patrol personnel in jeopardy. It is about a pervasive arrogance that has consumed not only this administration, but also the political left in this country in general.
I’ve only barely scratched the surface here with this little round-up of information and clips this week. It probably isn’t the last time I’ll say anything about this, but in the meantime, I strongly suggest that you educate yourselves, and read Katie Pavlich’s book below.
Apparently suffering the long term effects of habitual Botox abuse, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi again defied the grounding gravity of logic to concoct a thread bare story trying to tie Wednesday’s contempt of Congress proceedings in the House of Representatives to unproven allegations of voter suppression.
“It is no accident; it is no coincidence that the attorney general of the United States is the person responsible for making sure that voter suppression does not happen in our country, that issues that relate to the civil liberties of the American people are upheld. These very same people who are holding him in contempt are part of a nationwide scheme to suppress the vote. This is part of the scheme that the right-wing over-the-edge — and I don’t think that all Republicans subscribe to this — but the over-the-edge gang, which dominates the House of Representatives.” said Pelosi in her weekly news conference.
Revealing yet another portion of the chamber of horrors that is her power obsessed mind, Pelosi channeled Hillary Clinton, experiencing a vicarious flashback to Clinton’s infamous “vast right wing conspiracy” moment.
Never mind that there are hundreds of Mexicans and an American Border Control Agent dead as the result of sophisticated automatic weapons ending up in the hands of known, hardened criminals. It should not matter to voters that this is a result of the current administration’s irresponsible, scandalous Fast and Furious gun walking operation. Finding out how that happened and who is ultimately responsible for those deaths is not important.
Changing the subject to a fabricated conspiracy theory that attempts to put Republicans on the political defensive, while distracting from “progressive” failures in both the Executive and Legislative branches to address the very real economic problems in America is what matters.
Actor Morgan Freeman has said the effort to clean up voter fraud is all about disenfranchising minority voters: “My point is that women, Hispanics, blacks, there is a large attempt, a great attempt, at disenfranchisement. I mean, it’s right out in the open. I’m not, you know, this isn’t like breaking news or anything. Why is that?”
Forget that in States where voter rolls have been more closely inspected the names of people dead for years, sometimes decades, are discovered to be still on those rolls. Further investigation of registered voter information has revealed names registered at addresses that turn out to be vacant lots or gasoline filling stations. Integrity, honesty, accuracy, ensuring that American Citizens retain confidence in the electoral process; none of those require attention.
What is important is to play the race card in a desperate attempt to invigorate sagging voter interest within the “progressive” political base.
If “progressives” are going to insist on continuing their smear campaign against Conservatives with innuendos and unproven accusations of voter suppression regardless of the facts; if “progressives” are going to protect voter registration irregularities at every turn, then Conservatives should start fighting fire with fire.
Since it should now be painfully obvious that partisan “progressive” political interests trump voter integrity, Conservatives should quit crying foul and get in the game.
Conservatives, especially those racist, violent right wing extremists in that fringe radical Tea Party movement, should coordinate with their oh so close, bosom buddies and deep pocketed financiers, the Koch brothers, to fund the importation of millions of Conservative voters from around the world into America. “progressives” “know” that those evil Koch brothers have enough money to buy the planet several times over, so the funds required to finance such a move will probably come out of petty cash.
Imagine the display of shock, dismay and angst amongst “progressives’ should the White House refuse to grant 800,000 temporary work visas to any of the innocents between the ages of 18 and 30 who through no fault of their own, were brought to America as a byproduct of the operation.
Should “progressives” cry foul over the illegal importation of millions of people who disagree with their “vision for America”, those protestations will unequivocally be based solely upon race hatred, as will all protestations presented against policy initiatives resulting from a Mitt Romney election to the White House.
If “progressives” demand that every voter identify themselves with a photo ID to ensure that Conservative illegal aliens are not using the names of dead people to vote in American elections, the obvious motivate will clearly be a desire to re-institutionalize Jim Crow style voter suppression that enjoyed widespread acceptance among “progressive” Democrats following post-Civil War Reconstruction in the south.
If the “progressive” candidate for office enjoys a slim lead in a hotly contested race, Conservatives should then file lawsuits demanding that “all the votes be counted” to buy themselves enough time to “find” a “somehow misplaced” box stuffed with provisional ballots that swing the election results in favor of the Conservative…then quickly move to have the counting stopped and the election certified. Ideally, the result of the race would give Conservatives a filibuster proof majority in the U.S. Senate and allow full repeal of the contemptuously passed, ill advised, intentionally misrepresented, clearly misnamed “Affordable” Care Act.
That will be a good first step towards leveling the playing field.
Now can we finally get back to what matters most to the majority of Americans, like where and how to find a job?
Congratulations to Mackenzie Weinger and Reid J. Epstien for accurately reporting the news about White House senior adviser David Plouffe’s trip through television’s Sunday morning talk show circuit. It is truly a pity that Plouffe and those in the White House who oversee his talking points script cannot demonstrate the same accuracy.
Plouffe stated that Republicans want “huge tax cuts for the wealthy, more war, more debt.” As is the case with most “progressive” propaganda, this allegation is completely unsubstantiated.
Republicans, be they Rep. Paul Ryan or GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney, have said repeatedly and on the record that their plans are to institute tax reform, not to pass “huge tax cuts for the wealthy”.
The stated Republican position of letting Generals on the ground in combat zones determine the pace of troop withdrawals is more responsible than pulling troops out based on partisan, politically driven timetables. Withdrawing security forces from countries before they are prepared to assume the burden on their own increases the likelihood that future conflicts will arise. It also sends a signal to America’s enemies that the United States is in retreat. Using history as the measure, signaling weakness through retreat only invites further aggression.
Saying Republicans want “more debt” is based on the incorrect “progressive” assumption that higher tax rates result in more revenue to the IRS. This false notion has been so thoroughly discredited that even Plouffe’s boss in the White House admitted tax cuts lead to increased IRS collections, and that plans to hike taxes on the rich were a matter of “fairness”, not to increase revenues. Tax reform that eliminates loopholes and subsidies for those in the highest income brackets, along with a lowering of tax rates across the board will stimulate economic growth and lead to more money going to the IRS. This will lead to less debt, not more.
Plouffe continued with the White House’s aggressive misinformation campaign by stating Republicans “want to return us back to the same policies that caused the recession”. This is the biggest lie of the last four years. One that has been oft repeated since Nancy Pelosi, Barney Franks, Chris Dodd and Harry Reid first started spreading it the day Henry Paulson’s ill-advised, disastrous TARP bill passed through Congress. With the exception of Republican support for a bill to repeal Glass Steagall (a bill that enjoyed bipartisan support in the House and Senate before being signed into law by Bill Clinton in 1999) the legislation that created to the housing bubble was “progressive” social engineering in America’s housing market. That is what caused the world’s 2008 economic crash. The housing bubble that led to global fiscal meltdown is smothered in “progressive” fingerprints. From HUD, to the Community Re-investment Act, to “progressive” support of and Bill Clinton’s signature on the repeal of Glass Steagall, to “progressives” cooking the books at Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, to “progressive” Senator Dodd and “progressive” Rep. Franks protecting Fannie and Freddie from regulation.
Plouffe said the White House did not declassify national security information recently leaked in news stories. When pressed on the issue of an investigation of the leaks being conducted by two U.S. attorneys, Plouffe stuck to his talking points, repeating “Everyone in our administration is going to cooperate with this investigation”.
Of course, it would be much easier to believe what Plouffe and his boss are saying if they didn’t insist on continuously assassinating the truth in pathological fashion.
Democratic Senator Barbara Boxer’s interview with Chuck Todd on The Daily Rundown was the typical liberal jargon that is commonly seen on MSNBC. However, this time the political opportunism amongst Senate Democrats was palpable, especially with this “fair pay” business. We’ve all heard the statistics that women make only 77 cents for every dollar a man earns, but when this so-called Paycheck Fairness Act failed was pushed added to the agenda, I was floored.
First of all, as Chuck Todd reiterated this morning, the bill was never going to get the sixty votes needed to proceed to a vote for approval. Therefore, this willful campaign of self-martydom by liberals was a ploy to make Republicans look evil and continue the war on “women narrative.” However, what is fascinating is the fact that Rep. Nancy Pelosi’s female staffers earn 27.6% less than their male counterparts. According to the Washington Free Beacon:
Pelosi’s female employees earned an average annual salary of $96,394 in fiscal year 2011. Male employees earned $123,000 on average, a difference of 27.6 percent.
The gap is even larger if calculated using the median salaries for men and women. For Pelosi’s female employees, the median annual salary was $93,320 in 2011, compared to $130,455 for male employees—a difference of $37,135, or 40 percent.
Pelosi’s entire staff—men and women—earned an average annual salary of $108,150 and a median salary of $114,662. By both measures, women made considerably less.
Barbara Mikulski (D., Md.), Patty Murray (D., Wash.), Debbie Stabenow (D., Mich.), Dianne Feinstein (D., Calif.) and Barbara Boxer (D., Calif.)—three pay their female staff members significantly less than male staffers.
Murray, who has repeatedly accused Republicans of waging a “war a women,” is one of the worst offenders. Female members of Murray’s staff made about $21,000 less per year than male staffers in 2011, a difference of 35.2 percent.
That is well above the 23 percent gap that Democrats claim exists between male and female workers nationwide. The figure is based on a 2010 U.S. Census Bureau report, and is technically accurate. However, as CNN’s Lisa Sylvester has reported, when factors such as area of employment, hours of work, and time in the workplace are taken into account, the gap shrinks to about 5 percent.
A significant “gender gap” exists in Feinstein’s office, where women also made about $21,000 less than men in 2011, but the percentage difference—41 percent—was even higher than Murray’s.
Barbara Boxer stated on the senate floor that “Senator Mikulski’s bill says you can’t be reprimanded or punished because you’re trying to find out if you’re being paid fairly. That’s why we have to pass this law and anyone voting against it– is taking a stand against women, is taking a stand against fairness, is taking a stand against justice — is taking a stand against our families.” Yet, her female staffers made $5,000 less than male staffers last year.
In a televised address to parliament, President Bashar Assad said foreign-backed terrorists and extremists were to blame for the massacres going on in Syria. Despite suspicions expressed by the UN that Assad’s forces are responsible for the Houla massacre, Assad denied it. Syrian opposition condemned his comments as lies.
Assad described protestors as paid killers, ridiculing freedom demonstrators as people not truly looking for reform. The opposition is seeking reform in a country where expressing dissent often leads directly to arrest and torture. They contend that Assad has offered nothing but cosmetic changes.
A revolt that began as peaceful protests can now only be described as an armed insurgency. This can be attributed to the harsh government crackdown that led protestors to take up arms in self-defense.
Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, barack obama and many other “progressive” politicians have called the Tea Party “teabaggers”, “racists”, “astroturf”, “Nazis” ” and “extremists” on multiple occasions. The Department of Homeland Security issued a report that described the Tea Party as “right-wing extremists” and “insurgents”, expressing concerns that “Right-wing extremists will attempt to recruit and radicalize veterans in order to boost their violent capacities.”
How much longer will it be before members of Tea Parties are called “paid killers”?
Hasn’t that already happened? Such a description was more than quite heavily inferred by multiple “progressive” politicians and virtually every member of the “progressive” Party Pravda after a nut job who was working solo shot Arizona Rep. Gabrielle Dee “Gabby” Giffords on January 8, 2011.
How soon will members of the “progressive” Democratic Party say that Tea Party members are “not truly looking for reform”?
David Axlerod, obama’s 2012 re-election campaign chief, claimed that the Tea Party “reign of terror” blocked immigration reform. Tea Party efforts to stop “progressive” Democrats from cramming unwanted “healthcare reform” down America’s throat are viewed by “progressives” and their media spokes-tools as “not truly looking for reform”.
How much longer will it take for the United States to become a country where expressing dissent can lead directly to arrest and torture?
According to former FBI agent Larry Grathwohl, Bill Ayers’ Weather Underground Central Committee meant to cause the collapse of the United States government. Ayers and his group would deal with resistant Americans by “establishing re-education centers in the south-west”. Those who refused to convert to Communism, would be “eliminated”. As in: concentration camps would be used to kill 25 million Americans.
Politico’s Ben Smith reported: “In 1995, State Senator Alice Palmer introduced her chosen successor, Barack Obama, to a few of the district’s influential liberals at the home of two well known figures on the local left: William Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn”.
The Tea Party movement began as a peaceful protest against big government, reckless government spending, high taxes and oppressive regulations. The Tea Party’s Contract From America expressed principles held by its members. The most basic being that “Our moral, political, and economic liberties are inherent, not granted by our government.”
The principles of the Tea Party were clearly expressed in the Contract:
Protect the Constitution, reject Cap & Trade, demand a balanced budget, enact fundamental tax reform, restore fiscal responsibility and Constitutionally limited government in Washington DC, end runaway government spending, defund, repeal and replace government-run health care, pass an ‘all-of-the-above’ energy policy, stop the pork, and stop the tax hikes.
That sounds like people who are truly looking for reform. Just not the type of reform being insisted upon by members of the institutionalized “progressive” left.
Only those dedicated to the overthrow of the United States government would consider a stand for protecting the Constitution, rejecting the UN backed Cap and Trade agenda, demanding a balanced budget, et al “extreme” in their views.
The similarities between what’s happening now in Syria and plans envisioned for America by the institutionalized “progressive” left are both shocking and real. Why are those similarities being concealed by America’s fabled Fourth Estate? The only logical conclusion is that the views held by the “mainstream media” are sympathetic to those of the institutionalized “progressive” left. They are on the same team.
If violence does break out in the United States, it will be due to a harsh government crackdown leading to peaceful protestors having to take up arms in self-defense. God Bless the genius of America’s Founders and their insightful, forward thinking ratification of the Second Amendment. For they knew first hand that of which Tyrants are made.
WASHINGTON, May 18, 2012 /Christian Newswire/ — House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-San Francisco) apparently deceived reporters today when opposing two religious freedom amendments that would protect military chaplains’ right to free speech and to refuse to facilitate homosexual weddings. Pelosi reportedly called the whole idea a “fraud” and said, “There’s nothing that says that chaplains act against their faith,” and “Nobody is ordering them to do that” [facilitate homosexual weddings] and “Welcome to the world of manufactured crises. Here’s one.”
Sadly, Ms. Pelosi knows all too well the current Pentagon legal policy drafted by President Obama’s pro-homosexual bureaucrat Jeh Johnson requires that military chaplains must open their chapel buildings in all 50 states and turn over the keys to allow Christian or Catholic altars to be desecrated by homosexual ceremonies. While some chaplains can be excused from presiding at such ceremonies, all chaplains have been ordered by the policy to facilitate ‘gay’ weddings by scheduling, support, maintenance, and fully opening use of their chapels, whose altars must be re-consecrated after acts of sodomy are honored thereupon.
“We don’t hold Jewish weddings in Catholic chapels, so why force homosexual ‘weddings’ in every chapel nationwide?” asked former Navy Chaplain Gordon James Klingenschmitt, PhD. “Pelosi and Obama now violate every soldier’s right to a sacred worship space devoted to Catholic or Evangelical worship, and threaten to punish chaplains who refuse to turn over the chapel keys.” The Pentagon now openly violates the 1996 Defense of Marriage Act which legally defines marriage as only valid between one man and one woman on federal property, by treating military chapels on federal bases nationwide as if they all sit on Massachusetts land, not United States land.
Congressman Todd Akin (R-MO) and Congressman Steven Palazzo (R-MS) each introduced amendments which were approved respectively by 37 to 24 and 36 to 25 votes in the House Armed Services Committee, protecting the free speech rights of military chaplains who voice disagreement with homosexual sin, and protecting military chapels from desecration.
Pelosi and Obama oppose these amendments, which means they favor censoring or punishing chaplains’ free speech, and they favor desecrating chapels in all 50 states. But where do SASC Democrat Senators Joe Manchin (D-WV), Ben Nelson (D-NE), Jim Webb (D-VA) and Claire McCaskill (D-MO) stand, with military chaplains or with homosexual weddings?
Dr. Klingenschmitt personally visited the offices of 23 Members of the Senate Armed Services Committee (SASC) in DC this week, to plead with them to help protect and pass both good pro-chaplain amendments in H.R. 4310, the National Defense Authorization Act of 2013.
He reminded Senators he delivered 100,000 fax petitions, and will fax Congressional scorecards to nearly every pastor in their states before the next election. 2,000 chaplains from 19 faith groups have petitioned Congress to pass these two amendments. 65 evangelical chaplains are suing the Navy for anti-Christian persecution. One chaplain was relieved of his duty to manage the chapel after stating he would refuse to schedule ‘gay’ weddings in his chapel. Two chaplains resigned from the Army and Navy after the administration’s DADT repeal training manual taught they must “reconcile” with open homosexuality or quit, and over a dozen chaplains reported to their bishops of being personally pressured to censor their speech or quit the military.
SBA list’s new ad, “Womanhood”.
If it feels like 1984 in real life, it should. The threats to our religious liberty and conscience rights are very real. The question that needs to be asked of this president is “who decides”? Time and time again, President Obama has affirmed that it is the government who decides — government who decides what women want and think.
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said Thursday she supports same-sex marriage because her Catholic faith “compels” her to “be against discrimination of any kind.” Catholic teaching on the matter states, ” While opposing “unjust discrimination” against homosexuals, the Catechism of the Catholic Church says that homosexual acts are “contrary to the natural law” and can never be approved and that marriage is the sacramental union of a man and a woman.”
“My religion has, compels me–and I love it for it–to be against discrimination of any kind in our country, and I consider this a form of discrimination. I think it’s unconstitutional on top of that,” Pelosi said during her press briefing. Pelosi called President Obama’s statement on same sex marriage, “a great day for America.” She had didn’t comment on the fact that he felt different on this same subject two years ago. Nonetheless, she went on to say, “I hope this will bring people together on the same issue. It’s a matter of time, it’s all a matter of time. On these issues, what is inevitable to some of us is inconceivable to others. What we want to do is shorten the difference between the inevitable and the inconceivable and I think the president went a long way in doing that yesterday.”

What the U.S. needs more than anything right now might be an amendment to the laws that determine eligibility of individuals seeking public office. Debbie Wasserman Schultz could be the poster-child for promoting this move. Her failure to grasp her own job description is just simply disgusting. Bret Baier deserves a medal for not laughing out loud at her, or otherwise losing his cool in the face of utter incompetence.
Schultz was nonplussed during her interview for a very simple reason. The process that she was talking about was obviously unknown to her. Now, her constituents should be thinking long and hard about her continuing to represent them, because if she doesn’t understand the legislative process at this point, then she’s not representing them very well. The other option is that she was taken off-guard when Baier refused to let up on the issue of the Senate Democrats not passing a budget. Schultz did mumble something about November, so maybe she really meant that the Democrats have no intention of doing their jobs as far as the budget is concerned until after the election. Either way, it is at best a matter of failing to do what they were sent to Washington to do.
But beyond Schultz, there is a sincere problem on the left when it comes to understanding the legislative process. The latest craze for the left-wing is to bash the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC). According to them, ALEC is responsible for a vast right-wing conspiracy that will leave government at the mercy of business. Well, the reality is that to a certain extent, the government already is in that situation, since businesses are the greatest source of revenue, and they cause citizens to be employed, so they can pay taxes as well. But, this isn’t about economics this time.
These people would have everyone believe that what everyone should have learned in elementary or middle school about the legislative process is a lie. Bills from ALEC miraculously get printed, given to legislatures, and get passed without a single word changed. Sorry, but the only items that sometimes manage to get the nod on the floor of any legislative body in this nation without at least some changes are those cute little resolutions recognizing local people or events in a given lawmaker’s district. Even some of those end up with amendments, too though. So to think that a complex piece of legislation would make it through the “process” Schultz kept talking about without any changes is bluntly insane.
Now, perhaps these left-wing folks might be harping on this because they might have figured out by now that their precious little lawmakers might not actually be reading the bills that they vote on. One can’t blame them for coming up with that one, since their lovely Nancy Pelosi infamously said the Hill had to pass Obamacare to find out what’s in it. But that problem goes back to the left-wing’s apparent inability to understand the legislative process. Arguably, it is their own fault that they keep putting people that put the cart before the horse in Congress. It isn’t ALEC’s fault that some lawmakers apparently don’t find it necessary to actually read a bill before voting on it. There also isn’t a vast right-wing conspiracy out there trying to pass evil laws. But there are probably at least a few Republican lawmakers that already know what’s been said here, and aren’t above exploiting it. That’s why they are in office, after all!
First and foremost, before I’m accused of slander, let me say that I “feel” like Miss Fluke is being dishonest with us. I might even “believe” that she’s lied. But what I’m going to officially say is that I think she’s testified before Congress with questionable facts. Highly questionable facts… in fact. Let me explain.
The “lie” (or questionable fact) happens at around the 2:12 mark of the video below. She says that contraception, without insurance, can cost a woman “over $3000 during law school”. Let me tell y’all something, folks. Either she’s lying, or her friends are too stupid to be enrolled in Law School. Now that’s a pretty nasty claim for me to make, so let me back it up.
I used a run-of-the-mill map application to locate Georgetown University (her school) on a map. I then searched for pharmacies within close proximity to Georgetown. I then called the first one that I saw and asked how much a month’s supply of Ortho Tri-Cyclen costs WITHOUT insurance. The name brand was surprisingly pricey. I was quoted a cost of just under 45 bucks. That would equal about half of the amount Sandra Fluke told Congress it would cost. I started to think that maybe she deserved some benefit of the doubt. But then the pharmacist offered me another option (SANS INSURANCE).
I was told that if I paid $20 for the pharmacy’s club card, I could purchase a month’s supply of (generic) Ortho Tri-Cyclen for $12 a month. And that’s from a pharmacy within walking distance from Georgetown University. So instead of the proposed $1000 a year that Sandra Fluke told Congress that her friends spend on contraceptives, it was closer to $164 a year. So instead of $3000+, we are now looking at $492 for three years worth of birth control. I mean, maybe Miss Fluke is used to Congress accepting bogus budgets, but we should all be offended that she would try to be so dishonest with us.
The story known as “SlutGate” has been gathering more and more steam in the media. It’s to the point that we spend more time talking about Sandra Fluke than we do about gas prices, national security, or even the unemployment rate. As of this writing, The Huffington Post has an article on the front page with over 38,000 comments. Folks, that’s a lot.
So whether you like it or not, this story is here to stay. Another thing that may be here to stay is the progressive liberals’ new battle cry: “The War On Women”.
So far, a lot of you may not have bothered to watch Sandra Fluke’s testimony before Congress. Maybe you’ve relied on whatever analysis you’ve seen on this website, or even the news.
Given the increased gravity this story has been achieving, I would suggest you watch it for yourself. The video is only 11 minutes long, and as you can see, Miss Fluke’s 15 minutes are not yet up. So… Get to watching.
A blogger should never admit this, but instead pretend that he slaved for hours putting something together; but sometimes, the blog gods smile on you. This is going to be too easy. And you have to give credit where credit is due.
In my never-ending struggle to right all that is wrong with the universe, I came up with the idea of juxtaposing the left’s contrived outrage about the Fluketroversy with real, bona fide, hateful language from the American leftosphere.
Ransacking my limited political knowledge, a couple examples immediately sprang to mind. Don Imus. George Allen’s “macaca” moment. The usual tripe. Then a progressive blogger went ahead and did all my heavy lifting for me, proving that I’m not putting up straw men to knock down.
So with no further adieu, here goes a side-by-side comparison of the top five most offensive comments of the right vs. the left, in reverse order. The point is not that “both sides do it,” but that the left gets away with it, while conservatives do not.
Top Five Insulting Conservative Comment #5: Brian Kilmeade jokes to Gretchen Carlson: “Didn’t men give you the kitchen?”
This was such a flaming ball of outrage there’s not even a YouTube video on it. I’m going to have to admit it was… gasp… a joke and move on.
Top Five Insulting Left-wing Comment #5: Michelle Malkin is a “mashed up bag of meat with lipstick on it”:
Much like Highlander, there could only be one video copy on YouTube readily available that had Olbermann using this quote. By coincidence (I assume), Olbermann mentions that Beck and Limbaugh referred to Senator Mary Landrieu (she of the infamous “Louisiana Purchase” fame) in terms suggesting she was akin to a prostitute. Interestingly, I was just reading Federalist No. 66 today, and there is evidence that two of our founders thought such language appropriate, and were referring to non-females at the time: “They might also have had in view the punishment of a few leading individuals in the Senate, if they prostituted their influence in that body as the mercenary instruments of foreign corruption.” Hmm.
Top Five Insulting Conservative Comments #4: Bill Cooksey thinks Massachusetts politician Karyn Polito is hot
Again, from the policymic blog:
Bill Cooksey, WRKO-AM radio producer, made sexist comments about Karyn E. Polito on-air in response to a caller who inquired, “Is she hot?” Cooksey stated, “I think she’s hot. She’s tiny, she’s short. She’s got a banging little body on her. Facial wise, I give her about a seven. Body wise, I give her about an eight-and-a-half. Tight little butt. I endorse Karyn Polito.” Tom & Todd, pictured above, responded by saying it was “delightful and humorous.”
Yes, the comments were “sexist” because Bill Cooksey is apparently a heterosexual man who finds Ms. Polito attractive. And the controversy is? Where was the outrage when media publications were fawning about Barack Obama with his shirt off? Oh, that’s not sexist. Or George Stephanopolous laughably being drooled over on Friends? Or…
Top Five Insulting Left-wing Comments #4: Bill Maher’s Jokes about Sarah Palin and Michelle Bachmann as “MILFS of the Republican Right”
This is just a place-holder for the litany of nasty things Bill Maher has said about Sarah Palin and Michelle Bachmann and Sarah Palin, some of which can be countenanced here and here. For those who either haven’t seen American Pie or have been Rip-van-winkle for decades, MILF is an acronym for “Mom I’d Like to Frog.” (Although “frog” means something else). But really, who knows where to start? There’s the comment where he talks about their breasts, and then calls them both “boobs.” These are Republican political figures, mind you. But Maher’s really good stuff is when he calls Palin what Dana Loesch calls a C U Next Tuesday. I’ll leave it up to you to figure that one out.
Top Five Insulting Conservative Comments #3: Don Imus’ “Nappy Headed Hoes” Outrageous Outrage
This is the infamous statement that got Don Imus fired from his job as a long-time, well-established disk jockey. But as someone who was raised in the south, I know that blacks use the term “nappy headed hoes” in a joking manner all the time. The term was not used derisively or racistly by Imus, in a manner that suggests whites are superior to blacks. Nonetheless, it was enough for Imus to be asked to pack up his mic and leave.
Top Five Insulting Left-wing Comment #3: Michael Moore Calls Rush Limbaugh a “Bitch”
Although it would be great to juxtapose Moore’s comments with Rush Limbaugh’s “slut” descriptor, let’s be frank: Moore doesn’t merit such a high position, because we all know his modus operandi. He is a tendentious, unintentional mockumentary director, so what else are we going to expect from him? Nonetheless, in response to Rush’s “slut” usage in his satirizing of the now-notorious Ms. Fluke, Michael Moore did a touchdown dance and spiked the football yelling, “Who’s the prostitute now, bitch?” Who’s the hypocritical hack, Moore?
Top Five Insulting Conservative Comments #2: Foster Freiss’ “aspirin” joke
This is not my list, folks. The top insulting conservative comments represent an obvious lefty’s list of the most over-the-top conservative comments he can come up with. So who is Foster Freiss? Good question. He is the Santorum spokesman who joked that one proven method of birth control was to put an aspirin between the knees and hold it there. Funny? Yeah, a bit. Outrageously outrageous? Come on.
Top Five Insulting Left-wing Comments #2: Debbie Wasserman Schultz and Nancy Pelosi Compare Tea Party Protesters to Nazis
This is where we start getting into the nitty-gritty, where you have public figures shamelessly and inaccurately demonizing one segment of the American population they are supposed to represent. We won’t even get into the left calling tea party protesters terrorists here, we’ll just stick to the Godwin’s law that eventually everything on the Internet goes back to the Nazis. Well, Nancy Pelosi, the Democrat’s former Speaker of the House, actually compared the tea party to Nazis. The footage can be viewed here.
But current DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman-Schultz’ comments are even more interesting, in light of the way she has been tapped by the media to comment on the Rush Limbaugh “Fluke” controversy. This is what she actually said: “I don’t see any swastikas or any pictures of the President in black face or burned in effigy here. The difference between the way we express our First Amendment rights and the way I’ve seen Tea Party extremists—Republican Tea Party extremists—express their right is dramatically different.” This woman is the current DNC Chair, ladies and gentlemen.
Do we even have to mention that our sitting president Barack Obama once referred to the tea party, over one-third of the country by loyalty, as the dirty epithet “teaba**ers?”
Top Five Insulting Conservative Comments #1: Rush Limbaugh Satirizing Sandra Fluke over Condomgate
Rush Limbaugh is a talk radio personality who went after Sandra Fluke for fabricating an issue about a lack of condoms on college campuses and trying to use it to advance a Democrat agenda by comparing her to a slut. Repeatedly. Over the course of three days (sounds like a good time, doesn’t it?). But let’s not be deceived about Ms. Fluke. She interjected herself abruptly into the public forum as a law student at a major private Catholic college complaining about the lack of condoms on her campus as if she were in a third world country. And she mischievously fails to mention she is a thirty year-old feminist activist doing this as a publicity stunt to advance the Obama agenda, so this was actually part of a political operation. If all’s fair in love and war, why not so in politics? Well, it is all fair game if you are a radical leftist.
Top Five Insulting Left-wing Comments #1: Andrew Breitbart Post-Mortem Rage
The left tap-danced on the late Andrew Breitbart’s grave all last week. And for what? Because he tried to hold the left accountable? For exposing ACORN as a shameless organization? For his relentless pursuit of the truth about the Pigford scam? Or for Weinergate? Here is some of the truly vile things said about him.
Matt Taibbi of Rolling Stone actually wrote an article called, “Andrew Breitbart: Death of a Douche.”
Matt Yglesias of Slate wrote on Twitter, “Conventions around dead people are ridiculous. The world outlook is slightly improved with @AndrewBrietbart dead.”
And the hateful bile train just keeps on a’comin.
As an afterthought, I guarantee you that not a single person on the left will be asked to apologize, let alone lose his job, nor suffer any kind of retaliation whatsoever for anything that he has said or might possibly say in the future about the late Andrew Breitbart. Now consider if any of the above-listed things about Andrew Breitbart were said about any beloved figure of the left by a notable conservative. That person would be gone in a heartbeat. No questions asked.
So why do you young skulls full of mush believe leftists get away with over-the-top hateful rhetoric, while conservatives do not? Because the corporate media are interested in the truth? Or is it possibly because lefties are actually, in a way you might not yet understand, shills for the establishment?
And just for the left-leaning folks out there: Why is it that leftists in the media are able to ridicule middle America mercilessly, such as by defaming the tea party movement, when the left is supposedly for the little guy? Don’t you people who are not so far gone to the left see the hatred, the ridicule, the detestation of supposedly uneducated folks who felt powerless and tired enough of being exploited to rise up in mass and peacefully protest? While the Occupy Wall Street protesters, as provably violent and irresponsible as they have shown themselves to be, have been the beloved children of big government and even big banking (did Ben Bernanke ever “empathize” with the tea party?)
What have been the left’s solutions to our “heated” national discourse after the tragic Gabby Giffords shooting, which Debbie Wasserman-Schultz tried to tie to the tea party? A new tone? How about savagely mocking more than half of Americans and demanding the government exploit them more for their own good! Well, some of us have had enough!
During the debate about Barack Obama’s recent big government attempts to mandate that religious organizations pay for free contraceptive and after-the-fact abortion pills, there has been very little discussion of the fact that these abortion pills are seen by many Americans as a way to commit legal murder by killing a developing fetus while it is still in the womb. Also of note is that when people do a browser search for “abortion pill” Planned Parenthood is the very first “recommended by google” site to come up. No health professionals, no doctor’s groups, and no scientific studies are even in the top 10 search results for abortion pills. That is blatant internet media manipulation designed to nudge people’s perceptions of what is right or wrong in America today, and I for one find it a disgusting disservice to all Americans, especially young women thinking about having an abortion.
Here are a few of the young mind-maniputaling tidbits being spread nationwide by Planned Parenthood, many times by using your tax dollars: ( emphasis added at times)
What is the abortion pill?
The abortion pill is a medicine that ends an early pregnancy. In general, it can be used up to 63 days — 9 weeks — after the first day of a woman’s last period. Women who need an abortion and are more than 9 weeks pregnant can have an in-clinic abortion.
The name for “the abortion pill” is mifepristone. It was called RU-486 when it was being developed.
That Planned Parenthood definition of the abortion pill is the equivalent of saying that rat poison is a medicine to treat rats. It is that simple.
What happens during a “Medication” abortion?
It’s common for women to be nervous about having a medication abortion — or any other medical procedure. But many of us feel better if we know what to expect.
What they fail to tell young women are the lifelong feelings of guilt and shame many women suffer with for the rest of their lives, all because the “experts” at Planned Parenthood steadfastly and irresponsibly refuse to tell this side of the story.
Under Step 3, the follow-up visit after taking the abortion pill:
You will need to follow up within two weeks. Follow-up is important to make sure your abortion is complete and that you are well. You will need an ultrasound or blood test.
In the unlikely event that you are still pregnant, your health care provider will discuss your options with you. It’s likely you will need to have an aspiration abortion if the medication abortion did not end the pregnancy.
So just what is the innocent-sounding aspiration abortion? According to Web MD it is also known more fittingly as a suction abortion or a vacuum abortion. The manual vacuum abortion is when they use a syringe to suck the fetus tissue out, while the machine vacuum method uses a machine which involves the use of a hollow tube (cannula) that is attached by tubing to a bottle and a pump, which provides a gentle vacuum. The cannula is passed into the uterus, the pump is turned on, and the tissue is gently removed from the uterus. Note that nowhere in the Web MD description of these types of abortions is the word “aspiration” as Planned Parenthood refers to it.
Planned Parenthood also tries to imply that they do not receive any tax dollars to promote their main agenda: abortion-promotion. That is a blatant lie, as can be seen in the article titled, Planned Parenthood’s Annual Report: Got $487.4 million in Tax Money, Did 329,445 Abortions.
The Liberal-in-Chief, Barack Obama wants all Americans to pick up the tab for the sectors of American society’s irresponsibility and pay for abortion pills, against the main beliefs of a large sector of American society who view abortion as murder and a disservice to young, naive, pregnant women. So here is a suggestion: Since Liberal nanny-state worshipers want young women across America to have the abortion pills, let them pay for it. Take the millions of tax dollars being used to finance Planned Parenthood’s abortion-selling agenda away from them, and let the Liberal elitists in the media and elected public office donate their own cash for these abortion pills. We could even give proper credit to one of the main promoters of tax dollars being used for abortions in America today, Senator Barbara Boxer. We could name the new Liberal abortion-donation fund, the Barbara Boxer Buys Abortion Pills for Everyone, fund. Giving true credit where credit is due and all that.
Again, If it is such a great and noble cause, put your money where your Liberal rhetoric is and pony up a few million. The fact is these Liberals are full of dishonest hot air when it comes to actually “helping people” with their own money. They only want to help people with other people’s hard-earned dollars, including the taxpayers purse, as proven by the above expose’ on just how many tax dollars went to Planned Parenthood’s abortion mills. The minute any elected official starts talking about de-funding the Liberal abortion mills of Planned Parenthood, Liberal mouthpieces like Nancy Pelosi and Barbara Boxer start screaming about women’s rights to proper health-care and “medicine.” More rat poison anyone?
