Last Saturday, the NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People) officially came out and declared their support for same-sex marriage. According to USA Today, the organization now sees the issue as comparable to civil rights.
Ironically, this stance fails to comport with a large sector of the African-American population. Roughly 62% of blacks are against same-sex marriage, according to a Pew Research poll conducted in October 2011. This is not alarming news, as it was clear that blacks are in favor of traditional marriage which was evident in the 2008 passage of Proposition 8, which banned same sex marriage in the state of California, which African-Americans supported overwhelmingly.
The timing of the NAACP’s support for same-sex marriage is undeniably alarming and perplexing. It follows President Obama’s public endorsement of the issue on May 9th. The underlining tone from the NAACP is pretty clear and doesn’t need much deciphering: Get behind President Obama. It’s quite that simple. The NAACP, which is supposed to be a non-partisan organization, has betrayed the principles that matter so dearly to the black community to join forces with President Obama’s secular agenda.
While it is not surprising to see the NAACP applaud the efforts of the nation’s first African-American president, it is irresponsible of them to put a divisive political issue ahead of what truly is affecting the black community—high unemployment rate, a weak economy and lack of jobs.
Also, their call for racial harmony has been questioned by many due to their hypocritical and impeccable acts at times. In 2006, NAACP Chairman Julian Bond compared the GOP to Nazis and compared judicial nominees of then-President George W. Bush to the Taliban. Not only did this cause a strain with the administration, but it temporarily but race-relations on hold. It is this divisive and toxic rhetoric that compels many to not take the NAACP’s agenda seriously.
If the NAACP wants to advance an agenda that parallels President Obama’s policies, I would encourage them to engage in discussions of how jobs can be available in the black community. The current deficit, debt and fragile economy will impact the black community more directly than same-sex marriage. The fact that many recent college graduates are facing difficulty finding jobs takes precedent among many blacks before the debate over marriage.
Has the NAACP challenged the president over the high unemployment rate among African-Americans? In April, blacks saw a troubling 13% rate in unemployment. To not engage the first black president about these depressing numbers does not do justice to the black community.
The NAACP, if it desires to regain its historic status as a valid and vigorous voice for the advancement of African-Americans, must engage in discussion and advocate for policy that will help blacks compete in today’s economy, and must also be willing to respect the views of African-Americans without aligning itself to the partisan tactics of politics today.
In yet another chapter in the Trayvon Martin saga, The Daily Caller reported on a letter that was sent to Seminole County, Fla. NAACP president Turner Clayton by a member of George Zimmerman’s family.
“It’s time for you to end the race issue in this matter and call for cooler heads to prevail,” the letter reads. “If something happens to George as a result of the race furor stirred up by this mischaracterization of George there will be blood on your hands as well as the rest of the racists that have rushed to judgment. You need to call off the dogs. Period. Publicly and swiftly.”
The previous from The Daily Caller coverage clearly shows the level of frustration that has built, not only in the Zimmerman family. Analyzing what has become of race relations today is an exercise in misery. Civil rights organizations like NAACP have not moved on with the nation, and continues to hold on to the paradigms that were true in the 1950’s. The irony is that an organization that theoretically should be working to improve the situation for African Americans, is holding people back.
It’s been said time and again that this case is only in the news because the victim was black, and the accused is “white Hispanic”. That classification for Zimmerman in itself is proof of a racist agenda. Mixed ethnicity persons aren’t typically referred to in this way. It serves the purpose of the situation, to promote the concept that the evil white man killed the defenseless black boy. It’s a rarity, of course. The vast majority of crimes against blacks are committed by other blacks. Conversely, by the percentages, there are more violent crimes committed against whites by blacks than by whites. (I am not referring to domestic violence in this, just to be clear.) But what does the NAACP focus on? Instead of focusing on preventing those violent crimes in the first place, they call attention to a single case.
And they don’t worry too much about being accurate. They don’t mention that they already knew Zimmerman before this happened, or if they didn’t, they should have. Why? He was apparently the only non-black person in attendance at meetings over the killing of a black homeless man in the area. Zimmerman apparently even helped pass out fliers to call attention to that case. It’s pretty difficult to cast him as an evil racist man, after pointing out that sort of behavior.
Thanks to the NAACP, Zimmerman has been tried and found guilty in the court of public opinion. while it’s unlikely, it should turn into a learning moment for the leaders of an organization that probably lived beyond its usefulness. One shouldn’t bite the hand that feeds it. But who knows? Maybe Zimmerman will be vindicated not only in the Courts, but also in the press. One can hope. In the meantime, we’ll have to see what crime or perceived slight the NAACP will use next to preserve those wedges between the black community and everyone else. After all, they need to keep fighting what is apparently their new cause, since they managed to get rid of “separate but (not-so) equal.” Now, it looks like they’re striving for “separate, and entitled to everything from everyone else.” I guess they figure just plain racial harmony and equality is overrated.
As the 2012 elections draw closer each day, we are faced with the reality of wondering just how fair our elections truly are these days. Vote fraud is a serious issue today, and remains so simply because many times the criminal charges resulting from proven vote fraud are either dropped by partisan judges or reduced to a simple slap on the wrist.
Any talk of election reforms must include stiffer, mandated criminal charges to dissuade vote fraud from corrupting our electoral system. Many States have in fact, enacted stiffer voting laws to prevent vote fraud and abuse, yet these new laws are being challenged across the land by Democratic activists and sympathetic judges, including the top partisan political hack at the DOJ, Mr. Eric Holder. To hear these Democrats tell it, it is also a terrible injustice for States to require proper voter registration that allows enough time to prevent election day registration fraud, and it is also supposed to be an attack on minorities to make them show an ID to vote. Those same minorities can show ID to drive , receive welfare benefits and open bank accounts, but somehow we are supposed to believe they can’t produce an ID to vote? Get real folks. The very same people who are promoting vote fraud through denying State’s rights to demand Voter ID, are in fact, none other than the Party of Liberal Democrats and their operatives. To witness, the following slideshow puts some faces to proven cases of Democratic Party vote fraud. Below the slideshow link, are the related proven cases of vote fraud explained and linked.
Slide #5 – Seven Democrats arrested for absentee ballot vote fraud in N.Y. 4 plead guilty and 3 are awaiting trial, according to this report , in which their method of operation is revealed: “So far seven elected or appointed officials and operatives have been charged in the two-tear probe into allegations that scores of absentee ballots were forged to benefit Democratic candidates in the 2009 Working Families Party primary. Most voters targeted lived in Troy Housing Authority apartments ( government subsidized housing) and rarely, if ever voted. They were allegedly targeted because they were unfamiliar with the process.” (emphasis added)
Slide #6 – Democrat Anthony DeFiglio ( with attny) plead guilty in his role in the above-mention NY absentee ballot vote fraud case. In Nov. 2009, he told N.Y State police investigators that “faking absentee ballots was commonplace and an accepted practice in political circles”. ( Make that “Democratic political circles” in N.Y. State)
Slide #7 – Prominent Democratic leader and former state Rep. Mike Marshall and son Chris ( shown attending Barack Obama’s inauguration in 2009,) along with Democrat John Cook have been indicted on multiple counts of vote fraud. forgery, and perjury in Indiana. The state of Indiana is also embroiled in a “Right to work” battle against powerful Labor Union/Democratic party operatives, who we have now learned are quite adept at vote fraud. Preventing vote fraud in all forms is not only critical to our electoral system, it is also crucial to watch out for it in petition drives such as this one against Governor Walker in Wisconsin.
Slide #8 – The scary looking fellow lady in slide #8 is none other than NAACP executive Lessadolla Sowers, who now resides in prison after being convicted on 10 counts of absentee ballot vote fraud in Tunica County, Mississippi. As The Daily Caller explains: “While NAACP President Benjamin Jealous lashed out at new state laws requiring voter ID for voting, an NAACP executive sits in prison, sentenced for carrying out a massive voter fraud scheme.” That would be the same President of the NAACP that says there is no vote fraud in America, therefor Voter ID laws are not needed today.
Slide #9 – Fox News has the scoop on Democratic party chairman, Butch Morgan resigning amid an investigation into hundreds of fake signatures on petitions for Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton in the Indiana state primary of 2008. Here is the method of operation the democrats used to sneak these fake signatures through the system: Among the fake signatures found was that of former Indiana Governor Mel Kernan. Mr. Kernan told the South bend tribune that neither version of his signatures that appears on the documents are anything like his own. The ST. Joseph Counter voter registration office had both a Democratic and a Republican member who sign off on petition changes submitted for review. Low and behold Republican Linda Silcott was out of the office on bereavement leave when the fake signatures passed through her office. Silcott’s signature was applied by rubber stamp, while the Democrat’s signature was hand written. Amazing coincidence there isn’t it?
What will Americans believe, that there has been, in fact, proven vote fraud as outlined in this article for all to see, or Liberal Democratic propaganda that insists that there is no vote fraud, therefor there is no need for Voter ID laws? Demand that your state install and enforce Voter ID laws and make your vote count in 2012!
Update1- In the Troy N.Y. voter fraud trial, several witnesses have now come out and admitted that they were paid to commit vote fraud by Democrats.
I’ve probably known thousands, maybe tens of thousands of Black Americans over the years. Some are my family, some are friends, many I’ve shared a community with, and some I’ve served. I have never met one Black person who doesn’t have some form of identification, be it a birth certificate, driver’s licence or state non-driver i.d. Even my 80 year old aunt who was born without a birth certificate has a license! In fact, my aunt doesn’t even truly know her real birthday. She isn’t even sure if her name actually is what we call her or just a distortion of her birth name due to the Black Michagander dialect…but she drives, has a bank account and uses Medicare – all things she needs her licence to access.
Recently the Justice Department blocked South Carolina’s latest voter registration law requiring voters to present a valid state i.d. before being allowed to vote at the polls. Governor Nikki Haley says the law is needed in order to prevent voter fraud and secure safe and fair elections, but critics claim voter i.d. laws disenfranchise minorities, particularly Black people. In a letter to South Carolina officials Assistant Attorney General Thomas E. Perez said, “The absolute number of minority citizens whose exercise of the franchise could be adversely affected by the proposed requirements runs into the tens of thousands,” Assistant Attorney General Thomas E. Perez said in a letter to South Carolina officials.” Really? Tens of thousands of South Carolina residents have no form of i.d.? In 2012? This is nothing more than a political ploy to continue to allow the Democrat party to steal elections through voter fraud. It makes no real sense, no matter how many big words Mr. Perez uses to describe the law.
To add insult to injury, the National Association for the Advancement of COLORED People has decided to take their objections to the United Nations and request that they send an official observer to monitor elections. That’s right, the NAACP wants the United Nation to monitor our elections! “It’s been more than a century since we’ve seen such a tidal wave of assaults on the right to vote. Historically, when voting rights are attacked, it’s done to facilitate attacks on other rights. It is no mistake that the groups who are behind this are simultaneously attacking very basic women’s rights, environmental protections, labor rights, and educational access for working people and minorities. Voting rights attacks are the flip side of buying a democracy. First you buy all the leaders you can, and then you suppress as many votes as possible of the people who might object.”, says NAACP President Ben Jealous.
Black people are getting tired of being treated like ignorant, uneducated babies who haven’t the ability or will to care for themselves or function properly in modern society. The idea that somehow there are scores of Black people wandering around this country with no identification whatsoever is patently ridiculous. It is literally impossible to live an even semi-modern American life without some form of official i.d. Am I to believe that there are thousands of Black citizens right now who have never cashed a check, opened a bank account, applied for government assistance, purchased alcohol or tobacco or firearms, bought cold medicine or picked up a prescription, registered for school, rented a car, applied for a credit card, flown on an airplane, or…you get the idea. If identification is needed to buy cough syrup for your baby than why in the hell wouldn’t it be required to engage in the most important privilege we have as American citizens? Is it racism that requires you to have proper identification when buying beer? Why isn’t Ben Jealous asking the UN to monitor liquor sales in America? I’ll tell you why: because Jealous knows that his party depends on an easily defrauded system to win elections. Dead votes, repeat votes, illegal alien votes – these are the voting base of the Democrat party. Jealous knows damn well Black people have i.d.’s these days. I would bet my savings account that he doesn’t know anyone over 18 without one. This is Democrat trickery and minority victimization at its worst.
On the eve of the South Carolina GOP primary this month Black conservatives, led by Anita MonCrief (among others) will converge on the state with their photo i.d.’s to protest this gross injustice perpetrated by the DOJ and NAACP. All are welcome, but the hope is that the administration and their media minions will be forced to see that not all Black people are willing to go along with just anything that the DOJ slaps the term “social justice” on. We understand that leaving elections open to fraud hurts all Americans…and last time I checked Black people in this country counted as Americans. Using our race to perpetrate a gross violation of law and common sense is simply unacceptable. Governor Haley and other South Carolina officials have vowed to fight the DOJ’s intrusion to the highest level, but it is up to the rest of us to make our voices heard and to help restore reason and sanity to our voting process. If you have the ability, join MonCrief and company in South Carolina later this month. If you aren’t able to make the trip, blog, post or talk about it as much as you can.
If you have no birth certificate or photo i.d. of some type than you probably aren’t a citizen, which means you definitely should not be voting. Jealous, the National Association for the Advancement of COLORED People and this current regime know that. They don’t care about justice. They only care about votes. what they don’t care about is where those votes come from…and that is most certainly more un-American than any voter i.d. law.
I received an e-mail a few days ago with a story about a lady who owns a bakery in Des Moines, Iowa. She declined to bake a wedding cake for two lesbians, which has resulted in calls for a boycott, and the usual name calling, from homosexual groups. Victoria Childress, owner of Victoria’s Cake Cottage told the couple that she is a Christian and would not violate her Christian beliefs to provide them with a cake. When interviewed about the incident, Ms. Childress said:
“I was straight-forward with them and explained that I’m a Christian and that I have very strong convictions. I chose to be honest about it. They said they appreciated it and left. That was all that was said.”
Childress said her decision had nothing to do with discrimination or the lesbian couple, and stressed this fact by saying:
“It doesn’t have anything to do with them – it was about my convictions. They can get their cake anywhere.”
Childress said money is not the issue, adding:
“I’m being attacked because of my beliefs – my convictions to their lifestyle. I was not rude. I was not condescending. It was matter-of-fact. I told them, ‘I’m sorry, I just can’t do that.’”
The lesbian pair released a statement calling the Christian cake baker a “bigot” and are contemplating filing a discrimination lawsuit against Ms. Childress. More on the discrimination issue later in this piece. The couple ran to the media and started calling a citizen, who I thought had freedom of choice also, a bigot. They threaten legal action, and make a big scene because someone doesn’t want to bake them a wedding cake. How thin skinned can anyone get? They are offended? I am offended that they think they have a right to demand service from any business owner. I am offended that they think a Christian doesn’t have a right to decide who to do business with. If someone doesn’t want my business I just take it elsewhere.
Unfortunately, this reaction is typical of special interest groups, any special interest group. It seems everyone has a “right” to their views, and to be pandered to, except Christians. I wonder what would happen if these same women walked into a bakery owned by a Muslim. Would the owner bake them a cake or chase them out of the shop with a barrage of rocks, or simply hang them for their blasphemy? Stoning, in case you aren’t aware, is one of the penalties for homosexuality in the Muslim world. Hanging also seems to be a popular punishment.
Would these women go screeching to the media about Muslim bias against their “lifestyle”? If they did complain, would anyone make a big fuss or would they just keep out of it for fear of “offending” a Muslim business owner? I hope their next stop is at a bakery owned by a Muslim. I would really like to see the result of that visit. That situation would put the media and all of the “minority” groups in a tizzy. Who would they side with?
Where does this nonsense stop? Why is it that everyone has to bow down to the homosexual lifestyle, or Islam, or the NAACP, or any other “minority” group? Does freedom only apply to those with “issues”? I always thought freedom applies to all of us. Does “diversity” of thought include the thoughts of Christians? Does “diversity” of expression include Christians? Does “freedom of speech” include Christians? Apparently not!!!!!
I am also a Christian who believes homosexuality or heterosexual relations outside of marriage to be wrong. Does being against heterosexual couples living together and engaging in sexual activity outside of marriage make me a bigot also? What does one call that bigotry, heterophobia? Do Christians not have a right to live according to their firmly held religious beliefs? We are certainly expected, by Muslims and many judges and politicians, to allow Muslims to practice their religious beliefs and customs, even the parts that call for stoning of adulterers or honor killings.
Like most other Christians, including Victoria Childress, I don’t condemn others for their lifestyles, I simply disagree with them. Ms. Childress didn’t say anything tawdry about the couple, according to the article. Ms. Childress just expressed her views politely and let it go at that. Also mentioned in the article was a comment from another bakery owner who would be more than happy to bake the cake. Why is this a problem? It isn’t like these two can’t get a cake anywhere, others are happy to have their business.
Read the next couple of paragraphs very carefully and think about the point they make. Find the irrationality of those calling for a boycott of Victoria’s Cake Cottage. As far as a boycott, what will that accomplish? Ms. Childress seems to be boycotting homosexuals, yet that is unlawful according to homosexual activists. Homosexuals are going to boycott a business that doesn’t want their business. Does anyone besides me see the irony in this? I really can’t help but chuckle at this point.
If it is permissible for homosexuals to boycott Victoria’s Cake Cottage why isn’t it permissible for her to boycott homosexuals? Isn’t a boycott a boycott? Shouldn’t this cut both ways? Aren’t these homosexual groups practicing discrimination against Victoria’s Cake Cottage? They claim she is discriminating against them so they turn around and call for a boycott. If they don’t boycott every bakery equally isn’t that the definition of discrimination?
One of the biggest problems faced by this nation today is this very attitude of “tolerance”. We are told we must accept illegal aliens, who have a “right” to be here. We are told we must accept Islam and Sharia Law, because Muslims have “rights”. Christians are told we must accept a lifestyle that goes against our beliefs because these people have “rights”. I find it problematic that the “tolerance boat”, built by Christians who came here looking for freedom of religion, no longer has room for the Christians who built it. What about the rights of Christians to live our lives according to our beliefs? What about our “rights”?
If we are to be a truly tolerant society the tolerance has to go both ways, and it currently does not. If true tolerance were to be enforced, illegal aliens would be required to understand and “tolerate” my views about immigration. In a truly tolerant society homosexuals would be required to “tolerate” the fact that Ms. Childress and I disagree with their lifestyle and would rather they take their business elsewhere. A truly “tolerant” society would say the Congressional Black Caucus is required to admit white members of Congress. Muslims, in a truly “tolerant” society, would be required to accept that America has a Constitution and that Sharia law is unacceptable as it violates nearly every tenet of that Constitution. Muslims would have to “tolerate” our Constitution, and its Judeo-Christian basis, in a truly tolerant society.
If tolerance is not a two way street then it isn’t tolerance it is bullying. Whites are bullied by Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson on a regular basis. Christians are bullied by CAIR and homosexuals, among other special interest groups. American citizens are bullied by the ACLU, LaRaza and like organizations. Proponents of Right to Work are bullied by unions every day. Tolerance must be equal or it isn’t tolerance. If Victoria Childress and others like her are not allowed to live their lives according to their beliefs then tolerance isn’t anything other than brute force being used against someone these groups disagree with. Isn’t that the definition of bullying? Isn’t that the very thing they are fighting against? Can you spell HYPOCRISY?
I salute Ms. Childress for the way she handled this situation. She was forthright about her stand and refrained from making a big deal out of the situation. She did not “chastise” the couple; she merely chose not to participate in something she finds objectionable. From what I know of this situation she handled herself in a Christian manner with courage and firmness, yet with “tolerance”. She didn’t run to the media, she merely responded with the truth of her beliefs.
I hope that everyone reading this piece will show Ms. Childress their support. If you live in Des Moines or nearby, visit her shop. If not, go to her website and give her words of support. If possible, order something from her bakery and reward her for this stand for freedom of religion. If you live outside of Des Moines order some cookies or something that can be shipped. Let her know you appreciate her courage and her willingness to stand by her values and not be intimidated into surrendering her values or her freedom to live by those values.
I submit this in the name of the Most Holy Trinity, in faith, with the responsibility given to me by Almighty God to honor His work and not let it die from neglect.
November 26, 2011
The first thing the lesbian couple did was run to the news media, where they knew they and their whining and crying, “woe is me”, “I’ve been victimized” story would be coddled.
There has been much said lately about Herman Cain‘s trials and tribulations. Yesterday Gloria Allred produced a fourth accuser, Sharon Bialek but provided nothing to substantiate allegations. So today (November 8, 2011) I did Google and Bing searches for anything concerning the NAACP coming to Herman Cain’s aid and/or defense. My search argument was “naacp defense of herman cain”.
So far my search has yielded nothing but comments. So I have included some of the comments:
Where is the NAACP? Here we have a stage 4 colon cancer surviving black man being accused of sexual harassment by a white woman with no credibility, no witnesses, and no money. The NAACP hasn’t come to Herman Cain’s defense on not one of these allegations, nor have they made a statement pertaining to the situation. Shouldn’t the NAACP believe that as a black man and conservative Baptist minister, Herman Cain has suffered enough abuse by these allegations and is a victim. If the NAACP doesn’t come to defend Herman Cain, what does that say about them?
Where was the NAACP when the media exposed photo’s of Obama marching with the Black Panthers? Where were they when Eric Holder lied ? Where were they when Obama flushed billions down the toilet as he used our money as if it was monopoly money in failed solar energy firms?
A black man in the Public spotlight, perhaps the first black man to receive the Republican nomination is being smeared by two presumably WHITE reporters, with no concrete evidence, but with “anonymous sources,” rumors, and innuendo.
They are trying to railroad him, disgrace him and knock his popularity below that of other WHITE candidates for the same nomination, I ask these question:
Where is the NAACP?
Where is Rev. Al Sharpton?
Where is Jessie Jackson?
Where is the CBC?
Why are none of these purported groups/spokesmen for the American black people jumping to Cain’s side and offering their support and belief that he is innocent? I ask a serious question: Are they TRULY what they claim to be, or are they just the trustees on the democratic plantation whose job it is to keep the “black vote” in the democrat’s pocket?
I will keep doing searches. I will also welcome any sources (other than comments) that y’all find. Until then I have to question the credibility, sincerity, and objectiveness of the NAACP, who BTW, in July, 2011, called Herman Cain an idiot.
It was back 8 years ago, although it seems like an eternity now, that I…for the first and last time ever pissed my pants laughing. I was reading an article about two hours ago and it mentioned the name of a female congressperson from Texas. That was all I needed for some raucous instant-recall. Return with me now to July of 2003 as I reprise the occasion of a member of the demonRATic attack machine in action.
Not content with the more mundane complaints she is known for, the demonRATic representative from the Grand and Glorious Empire of Texas, one Sheila Jackson-Lee, has gnarled her way back to the media podium yet again to lecture us all.
Can you guess what about?
(CAUTION: If you have a problem controlling your bladder or bowels when laughing DO NOT PROCEED ANY FURTHER)
Ms. Sheila Jackson-Lee (whom I sincerely wish would decide if she’s a “Jackson” or a “Lee” rather than a conflicted feminist) demanded to know why all hurricanes were chrisened with only Caucasian-sounding names. “All racial groups should be represented.”(1) she said, At the same time she lashed out at the National Weather Service she also opined that…in the future lists of names “would try to be inclusive of African American names”(1) as well as Caucasoid (Caucasion).
I found no concern by her regarding the third race of man, the Mongoloid folks of the world. Apparently an oversight for one functioning with a critically diminished intellectual capacity.
At the time, after having regained my compusure, I briefly wondered why her constituency (possibly shocked and embarassed by such a performance) hadn’t started a “recall petition” for the aforementioned. I recovered shortly upon realizing that they had voted her in and done so repeatedly, so obviously knew what they had and approved. They must have. She is still their representative!
I wondered if with the passing of time the names of hurricanes for 2011 might have been adjusted to accomodate this ridiculous ‘racist’ demand. After all it was a very serious matter, because in 2005 a Cobb County, GA worker was summarily fired for passing about the humorous email forward detailing this incident. That was followed in Texas by a Mayor asking for the resignation of a councilperson for doing the same thing. Gee thought I…Didn’t anybody happen to notice the abrogation of the right to freedom of speech here?
I digress though. Let’s look at the 2011 list of hurricane names:
2011 Hurricane Names (2)
Oh sh*t! This doesn’t look so good. As I peruse the monnickers assigned I fail to see anything even vaguely representing a M’ry-ah or a Jamal or a Chamiqua or a Leroi or even an Amos or Andy or Calhoun or something closely akin to such. WASSUP WID DAT? We may-bees in big trouble wid da NAACP and da BLackest Congresshionals Caucasoidal.
O woe is we be! Trubles be on da ho-risen fo’ shure!
The controversial policy of using socio-economic information to place students into schools in North Carolina ran into a brick wall last week when the U.S.D.A. blocked Wake County from using its data.
Department of Agriculture officials had informed Wake Country School District that it can not use confidential and private information from school lunch programs to re-assign students to other schools.
Without that data Wake County would either have to ask for parents to volunteer their income information or abandon the idea of forcing kids into schools outside of their neighborhoods solely based on how much money their parents make.
Wake County is one of the few remaining school districts to hold on to this backwards and ineffective policy, but the NAACP is going to do what it can to keep it in place. In a news release, the President of the North Carolina NAACP, Rev. Barber, announced that the NAACP has filed a federal complaint over the U.S.D.A. decision.
“The N.C. NAACP believes the USDA’s position regarding the use of Free and Reduced Lunch (FRL) data in school assignment is a misinterpretation of the law,”
Barber has been a highly-visible personality at the forefront of the anti-neighborhood schools movement within the state.
Well, at least now they aren’t even pretending. The extremist left is putting on a show in D.C. and it’s sponsored by every one of their wealthy, over-funded, corrupt special interest groups: Big-labor (SEIU, UAW, et al), TIDES (George Soros), and a collection of socialist and communist organizations.
Rally organizers are starting to compare this rally to Glenn Beck’s “Restoring Honor” event back in August. Benjamin Jealous, President of the NAACP, said, “Were confident any satellite photos of our rally will stack up nicely to Beck’s”. Considering that they are paying for bus tickets, food, and in some cases forcing union members to go – this is every bit a rent-a-crowd as could exist.
The idea that this rally is nothing but an attempt for Big-Labor to take back its stranglehold on American workers is not new. Beck has mentioned it, I just embedded the video from Breitbart and oh so many others have made this point. What no one’s talked about is the difference in where the money came from.
Were there huge Bank of America signs at Restoring Honor? Did the rally organizer (Beck) pay for bus rides and meals to fill the mall? No you say? Of course not, because he didn’t need to.
This far-left, Union-a-palooza is a sham. It’s heavily-funded by the special interest groups that have had Democrats doing their bidding for decades. Unfortunately for them, real leaders like Governor Chris Christie (NJ), are showing the unions for what they are – thieves. Now big-labor has to fight back the only way they know how – propaganda.
Unions have outlived their usefulness and have pissed-away the trust that their membership put in them. They are one of the largest reasons for the loss of American manufacturing jobs.
With union labor costs about double those of non-union Japanese and other foreign auto manufacturing plants in the United States, Big Three American automakers are financially bleeding to death. This outcome was inherent in the origin of industrial unions in the violence of revolutionary socialism.
Last year, when Obama took over the largest car maker in America, it wasn’t just to “save” the jobs, he knew he needed to save the UAW. I would argue that it was his sole goal, GM was just a necessary evil. Consider how the company ownership was divied-up. True investors, bond holders, were systematically dismantled and 17.5% of the company was given to the UAW. Even worse, 65% of Chrysler was given to the union.
Unions are weakening America’s ability to compete in the global market. They are also a larger political force than any bank, wall street investment house or CEO. Organized labor (a synonym with organize crime) controls the Democrat party and is running both the Democrats and American manufacturing into the ground.
This rally is just a last attempt at re-energizing their unthinking base. People who believe that making ludicrous salaries for simple work need the unions to keep-up the thuggery on American companies. The thugs need those useful idiots to keep thinking they deserve those salaries and benefits.
”]Saturday will be a self-love fest. Me, me, me. What can the government give me? What can I get out of the public treasury? That’s the union, socialist, and communist position – ME.
When you see them all on T.V., waving their signs and performing their paid duty as for-hire attendees, just look for what they are asking for. Is it to return to self-reliance? To find out what more they could do to help the country? To understand that we must make personal sacrifices if we don’t want to end up like Greece and Portugal?
No, you won’t hear any of that. You’ll hear them being told how to get what they think they deserve. You’ll hear about the evil free market and how our economic system has done them wrong and must be reformed. You’ll hear a whole bunch of unknowns (and Al Sharpton) tell them that they can get what they want by simply demanding it.
They will be told that they can get what they want by having the government take it from all those people that go to Tea Parties.
It won’t be said that plainly, but if you listen, closely – you’ll hear it.
