Another group of military veterans is scheduled to arrive in D.C. tomorrow morning to carry out a second protest, demanding lawmakers immediately end the government shutdown.
The protest is being organized by The Military Coalition (TMC), a group of 33 organizations that represents 5.5 million people. Members are comprised of the uniformed services—active, reserve, retired veterans, survivors and their families.
TMC’s protest arrives on the heels of the “Million Vet March” that occurred over the weekend attracting thousands of veterans who marched on the National Mall and then on to the White House to peacefully demonstrate their anger over the government shutdown.
Veterans voiced their displeasure for the closing of the memorials as they removed the barricades and carried them to the White House where they stacked them neatly out front.
“This is our way of life. We will not stand by and let the U.S. government dishonor the legacy of sacrifice of the generations before us. It’s time to make a stand.”
TMC believes in strength in numbers and hopes the rally will grab the attention of lawmakers tomorrow, and put an end to the suffering inflicted on veterans stemming from the government shutdown. Veterans on disability and GI Bill benefits are unsure if they’ll receive their next check, and their access to medical care has been severely limited following the rollout of Obamacare.

These are photos gathered from Social Media from the Million Veteran’s March on DC today. We have reached a very sad day in America when the gathering of those who fought for our freedoms are greeted by police in riot gear!
May God bless America, and may God bless all who have given so much for our freedom!
We will continue posting photos throughout the day.

Can You Hear Us Now??
OLDER WOMAN STUCK BY POLICE!
Just witnessed police whack older women with night clubs. Young kids pushed and crying. Out of control. I was in the middle of it all. Equally sad and proud of what I saw today.
Obama must be scared- he’s leaving the White House!
A great link with many pictures from today.
Below is a list of rallying points at our memorials. Honor their sacrifice even if you can’t make it to DC!
We are asking you to never assemble at a national or war cemetery. Our brothers in arms deserve that respect!
Some answers to frequently asked questions:
We are not arranging transportation or lodging for the October 13th event in DC. If you’d like to attend and are looking for a ride, theTruckers Ride For The Constitution recommends posting your location on their wall and they will see if they can connect you with a trucker heading that way. Alternatively, you’re welcome to post on our wall to see if someone can carpool with you. Have room in your vehicle? Post that too. And please make sound travel decisions and travel safely!
WHERE’S MY LOCAL MEMORIAL?
If you CANNOT make the main event in DC, simply go to the war memorial closest to you at 9 AM October 13th. If you can take a vet with you, even better. Remember, one of our goals is to assist vets in accessing their memorials. As we can’t keep up with all the requests for finding local memorials nationwide, we have put together a list if memorials by state here:
Don’t see your local memorial on our list? That’s ok – just go to your local memorial with friends and family, take photos and post pictures on our wall to participate. Imagine the impact of photos from across the nation – Americans participating in a nationwide event for our honored veterans!
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
EVERYONE. You do not have to be a veteran to join us. You simply need to be someone who cares about our cause and wishes to honor our veterans with dignity and respect.
The Truckers of America and Veterans who have fought for our freedoms have had enough! They are teaming up and preparing to stand up to this tyrannical Government and Take Back Our Country!

We do not care what political leanings you may be; be it liberal, conservative, Democrat, Republican, Libertarian, Independent or whatever. The actions of the U.S. government this week with regard to barricading and shutting down the World War II Memorial to veterans, that may or may not be on their last trip to Washington DC, is a despicable act of cowardice.
Veterans this week were unwillingly pitted as pawns in this crisis. We feel that this should never be the case. This is why we will go to Congress after the budget crisis and ask for a bill to be introduced that would prevent any member of the government from closing our memorials down to any American, except for maintenance purposes. In the meantime, we will have our March in Washington DC on October 13th! Our veterans deserve that!
Many in our group have decided that enough is enough. We are Americans. We are proud of our heritage and our service. As all of us were military brats and spouses, we have served in some form or another our entire lives. This is our way of life. We will not stand by and let the U.S. government dishonor the legacy of sacrifice of the generations before us. It is time to make a stand! We hope that you will join us in our peaceful protest against anti-American policies.
Get ready to join a million vets in Washington DC and online! The Administration has closed down war memorials that are normally open 24/7 and that do not have any staff to guard them under normal circumstances.
