Married To The Game is a new show and part of the CDN family that’s designed to be a “safe” place to discuss politics without worrying about the typical conservative litmus tests.  The words “RINO” and “true conservative” are not used here.  Instead, we focus on news and solutions for problems in an open and honest manner.  If you’ve refrained from listening to political talk radio, because you’re tired of hearing the same positions ad nauseam, then Married To The Game might be for you.  And… did we mention it airs on Saturday nights?  Be sure to tune in starting at 10pm (East) and 7pm (West) on Saturday nights, and feel free to call in to make sure your voice is being heard.  Be sure to check out the sample below.

I am not a huge fan of “Huckabee”, the Fox News talk show that is hosted by Mike Huckabee.

When it first aired I watched it fairly regularly, and actually liked it quite well. Over time, it has become quite frustrating how many times each show airs over the course of one weekend. It’s the same ole stuff on yet another channel. However, there are times that I do still tune in to see a certain guest he may have on.

Tonight was one of those rare times when I wanted to tune in to hear the much awaited announcement from Mike Huckabee- will he, or won’t he run for President in 2012.

I have not been a huge fan of the possibility of  Governor Huckabee running for President. Quite honestly I am sick and tired of the “same ole establishment“. I want fresh faces, fresh ideas. Maybe I’m hoping for too much.

At the end of this weekend’s “Huckabee”, Mike Huckabee came on live, rather than pre-recording his announcement as he does the rest of his show. I had read an article previously in the day saying there was speculation that he would not be running. Others proclaimed that he would certainly run.

Finally, Mike Huckabee himself made it official: He will not run for President in the 2012 election.

As we sat there watching the announcement, I let out a victory yell, hands in the air and all. My husband asked me why I did not like him so much, even after the heart felt speech he gave explaining his decision.

I had to concede that yes, maybe I was wrong, given the speech he gave. I was actually quite impressed with what he had to say.

This is a quote from his announcement speech:

“All the factors say go, but my heart says no.”

He talked of praying extensively over the decision, which I have no doubt he did.  He said that he had a complete and unexplainable peace that anyone who is a Christian knows is the “peace that passes all understanding” (Philippians 4:7).

I will refrain from what I told my husband my reason was from not wanting him to run. It is strictly a personal opinion- an impression- that I get from him. I do not know him personally, so I cannot speak to his true personal character.

And so, the race goes on… without Mike Huckabee.

Tomorrow night (Saturday) I will announce the next step in my plans for 2012 during my show on the Fox News Channel. I would like to be able to call you or email you personally and in advance of the announcement, but due to the fact that the decision was not finalized until today and that I committed to Fox that I will absolutely not release it prior to doing so on the channel, that became impractical.

A lot of information and speculation was already rampant in the press today, and it frankly isn’t fair to you to tell you the details and then put you in the awkward position of saying you didn’t know (which at that point wouldn’t be true) or saying you did know, but couldn’t reveal or discuss it.

It was this afternoon before I could even get word to all of my own children and even now, the executive producer of my show and the staff and crew of the show don’t know and won’t until I actually do the final preparation literally minutes before I share the decision live Saturday night.

I will look forward to speaking with you soon and once I fulfill my sworn obligation to Fox, I will be free to discuss things that I can’t now due to promises to them and to some possible legal considerations of the announcement.

Many friends have said, “how can we help you in the decision?” My answer has consistently been, “Pray that I have clarity.” I have it and will share it Saturday night during the show. Please be patient if I don’t respond immediately to an email because I expect that once I pull the trigger Saturday night, things will get even crazier, as if that’s possible.

Mike Huckabee

I personally have stated that I didn’t think Huckabee would run several times on the radio show. Now, it appears that I may be proven wrong – the Mormon candidate pool may be just about to grow to two.

While all appearances are that Huckabee will join the current cast of 2012 presidential hopefuls, we will hav to wait to find out for sure on his Fox News television show on Saturday night.

*Update* Huckabee announced that he will not be running for President on his show. Well, I was right for months, wrong for a day. But now we know and I won’t have to write about him possibly running any more.
