Flynn, Chambers, and Lewis Expose “Asses” In The Media At AFPF Dream Summit

Screen Shot 2012-08-03 at 3.12.33 PM

Defending the American Dream isn’t only centered on elections.  While Michelle Malkin says that “the ballot box is the best sanitizer” for squishy Republicans and left-wing politicians, we must keep the media in check since they represent the second front in this war.  Matt Lewis, contributor at The Daily Caller, Mike Flynn, editor at Breitbart.com, and Francesca Chambers, editor of Red Alert Politics, detailed the state of journalism and bias in a panel discussion in the opening day of the summit.

Matt Lewis

As conservatives, we know the media has a left-wing bias.  We know they omit stories, make gross speculations, and outright fabricate stories, which are then broadcasted to the masses.  However, Matt Lewis says have no fear, since Twitter is here.  The surge in blogging and use of social media has allowed ordinary citizen journalists to post stories the mainstream media ignores on a daily basis.  Twitter has been instrumental in keeping the liberal media honest.  Lewis gave an example when Reuters flat out lied and said that Marco Rubio voted against the confirmation of Sonia Sotomayor for the position of Associate Justice on the Supreme Court.  The problem is Rubio wasn’t even in the Senate at the time.  Lewis likes what new media brings to the table since it’s effectively bringing to an end to the era when only “the experts” had a say in reporting the news.  Down with the old guard!

Mike Flynn reiterated such points and added that the media is against you and actively working against the interest of the American people. He recalled an atrocious incident in late 2009/early 2010 where a Tea Party rally was going on in Phoenix when President Obama visited the city.  An activist showed up with an automatic rifle to the rally, which is LEGAL in the state of Arizona.  Contessa Brewer, formerly with MSNBC, posted the photo and had a panel discussion debating whether the Tea Party was violent and racist.  The odd thing was that the photo was cropped because the activist was African-American.  A key example of the liberal media pushing a false narrative for political points.  Andrew Breitbart talked about the Democrat-Media Complex.  This is it!

He detailed two more examples of media bias by omission with the story about how the media gave little to no attention to the fact that Gallup found that 55% of Americans supported the contempt vote against Attorney General Eric Holder over Fast and Furious.  He also pointed out the absurd story about how the media went into a frenzy when a Pew poll showed that Obama was ahead by ten points.  It’s funny because the poll sample was skewed D+19!  Flynn remarked that we haven’t had an electorate like that since 1856 when the GOP was in its infancy.

Mike Flynn

Flynn rightly said that we’re “dealing with asses in the media.” He declared that we’re our own wire services and can broadcast news via twitter or blogs, therefore, what the mainstream media says really doesn’t matter.  It’s de minimis at best.  Flynn admitted that he gets most of his news from foreign papers, in particular The Guardian, because they report on things that are often omitted here at home.  While he knows they’re left wing, Flynn credits them for being honest about their bias.

With the millennials coming of age, some younger conservatives have found it important to inform their generation about the facts on the state of affairs and not just what’s reported on The Daily Show.  Francesca Chambers, editor of Red Alert Politics, detailed stories of egregious bias with the WaPo’s hit piece concerning Romney’s alleged gay bashing in high school.  A story the alleged victim’s sister cannot recall.  A story that cannot be properly sourced since the person in question has passed away.  It’s sloppy journalism.

Chambers also recalled the abysmal New York Times piece, which detailed Romney’s houses and had NYT reported stalking his neighbors.  Chambers rightfully said that the media didn’t do this to John Kerry in 2004.  Last time I checked, he’s a very rich man.  She reminisced about the days when she thought the world of the Washington Post.  However, Chambers noticed inconsistencies with the reporting of conservative events that she attended.

Francesca Chambers

Concerning gross speculation, Francesca cited former Clinton operative George Stephanopoulos and Brian Ross of ABC News who falsely claimed that James Holmes, the culprit in the Aurora shooting, was a member of the Tea Party.  Bill McMorris of The Washington Free Beacon cited the white pages and found tons of people named James Holmes that lived in Aurora.

How did the media get so bad?  Mike Flynn blames the baby-boomers for making journalism/reporting an area for one to quench their political thirst.  To make a difference on the American political scene, even if the casualty is the truth.

ABC’s Questionable “News” on Rubio

Florida Senator and rising GOP superstar Marco Rubio got a gut-punch today when ABC’s Jonathan Karl dropped an opinion piece on the media giant’s news website insinuating that Rubio is not being considered by the Romney VP search team.

“…knowledgable Republican sources tell me that Rubio is not being vetted…” says Karl. “He has not been asked to complete any questionnaires or been asked to turn over any financial documents typically required of potential vice presidential candidates.”

Coincidentally, Rubio’s autobiography American Son was released just hours before Karl dropped his baseless and anonymous claims. He is also scheduled to appear at a fundraiser for a Romney PAC.  Karl’s timing is interesting, to say the least.

Other ABC “News” commentators and quasi-reporters picked up on the piece and spun off multiple blog posts, “reports” and Twitter updates within hours.

The Karl piece cites no specific informant, and more importantly, makes no direct assertion that Rubio is not on the short list of potential running mate.  In fact, if you can stomach reading the piece to the middle paragraphs you will find the Romney campaign and Rubio have refused any official comments, despite the misleading headline.

So because he hasn’t submitted reports and the campaign refuses to say anything publicly, Rubio is automatically off the short list?  It’s only June…  Karl has successfully created a news story out of thin air.

Asking leading questions and making insinuating remarks is not “news.” ABC has committed journalistic fraud by asserting there is a story where there is none.

AP Spins Obama's Unanimously Destroyed Budget as GOP Obstructionism

Ridiculously, the Associated Propagandists (AP) have tried to pin the Ø-414 slamming of the $3.4 Trillion “budget” Obama submitted to The House on an obstructionist GOP trying to make political hay in an election year. Oh, they didn’t write that, but let’s “deconstruct” the AP’s headline (via Yay-hoos):

GOP-run House easily rejects Obama budget

Normally, left-wing AP bias is about as unsurprising as a late-season Mets collapse, but in this case we’ll explore it a little further. What is a little surprising is that the AP would expose themselves as being totally in the pocket of the Democrat Party, instead of just being fellow-traveling left-wing ideologues. This is because the outfit is running cover for a president whose bill was shot down in flames by his own party, and yet the AP is trying to blame this solely on the Republican Party.

The intended reader inference from placing “GOP-run House” at the front of the headline is to frame the current event in the context of implied GOP obstructionism. There’s really no other way to read it, because the headline should logically read “House unanimously rejects Obama budget.” This obvious headline would be both more accurate and have around the same number of characters as the AP’s. Thus, there is no reason to cram “easily” in the headline when “unanimously” would convey more accurate information (unless you are an AP reporter with a limited vocabulary, which is entirely possible).

Another interesting aspect of the headline and the story is that the AP is trying to provide political cover to pretend “blue dog” Democrats up for re-election who don’t want to look like “left-wing extremists” unconcerned with deficits and debt spending. As a bonus the AP also gives cover to left-wing insaniacs who think the bill should go even further to restore “economic justice” (a catch phrase for plundering unearned wealth). How is this possible?

It’s possible because if the bill is defeated Ø-414 people will believe that there was a consensus in each party that something was wrong with the bill. But how can it be that some Democrat lawmakers voting against the bill would think that total spending was too high, and others would think that it was too low, while none would think that it was “just right”? The odd voting suggests a strategic public relations maneuver by the Democrat Party.

The Congressional Black Caucus, for example, proposed an alternative budget that sought $4 trillion more, which would be financed by tax increases on the rich (like that will help create jobs, right?).  This was defeated 107-314. So it stands to reason that the 86 Democrats who did not vote for the bill withheld support because they wanted to posture as relatively fiscally responsible to the voters in their district.

Understanding a few basic facts about the voting makes the AP narrative look absolutely absurd. Read the first few paragraphs from the AP piece:

The Republican-run House has overwhelmingly rejected President Barack Obama’s $3.6 trillion budget for next year after a vote forced by GOP lawmakers to embarrass Democrats.

Republicans have opposed Obama’s budget all year, criticizing its tax increases on the wealthy and saying it lacks sufficient spending cuts.

Democrats have defended Obama’s budget priorities but they largely voted “no” Wednesday night.

Let’s take this one at a time in rapid-fire succession. First, Harry Reid has forced votes on the Senate floor countless time. A quick Google search of ‘harry reid forced vote’ yields nearly 8 million hits. If the vote is “embarrassing,” then that makes the bill embarrassing, and the president an embarrassment. Also, the Republicans opposed Obama’s budget “all year”? So they are being obstructionist for still opposing it, even though Obama didn’t submit a balanced budget? Finally, every single Democrat present voted no on the bill, not “largely.” The Democrats who don’t show up, don’t count.

In conclusion, it is hard for an analyst to react to a left-wing media intentionally distorting the news without wishing to resort to satire, though this is becoming increasingly hard to do. The left is notoriously difficult to parody nowadays. In some cases, it is more useful to deconstruct the story.

Mainstream Media Speculation About Sgt. Bales & the Afghan Massacre Shows Tragedy of Left’s Agenda

The Afghan massacre allegedly carried out by Staff Sergeant Robert Bales, in which 16 Afghani were killed in a pre-dawn raid, has prompted wild media speculation regarding what drove the man to kill so many innocent civilians. But within minutes of the left-wing media pouncing on the story, the news came to light that the soldier likely carried out the revenge mission alone.

This should have provided a learning moment for the knee-jerk media. MSNBC even had the temerity to run a television crawl that NATO forces had carried out the atrocity; if at all possible, further discrediting the fully discredited outlet. The armchair sociological theorizing by the mainstream media nonetheless continues over what actually caused the massacre.

Staff Sgt. Bales is currently being held at Fort Leavenworth awaiting potential charges that entail the death penalty. The proposed defense that the man is ‘deranged’ and probably suffers from PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder) has elicited an outraged media backlash. Outlets have cited Sgt. Bales’ minor brain injury and severe foot injury as probably pushing him over the edge. The Atlantic published a considerable piece expanding on Sgt. Bales’ experiences in both wars and his three tours of duty. The LA Times, for its part, chalked up the man’s despair to ‘financial difficulties,’ derivative of the left’s favored argument that poverty is the root of all evil. But the New York Daily News showed the height of gall by stating “America shares in the collective responsibility for this incident.”

What is most concerning about this tragic event is that the media would so hastily jump to condemn the entire armed forces and even the nation for the acts of one soldier, using the most sophistic twists to argue for more ‘mental health screening’ for our presumably deranged soldiers and a hasty pullout from Afghanistan. Adding to the misunderstanding about how Sgt. Bales’ actions either reflect or do not reflect on the military and its mission, news story tie-ins regarding the Koran burnings in Afghanistan (compelled by insurgents’ use of the Koran to smuggle messages) and the desecration of a Taliban fighter’s body were thrown into the mix.

Whatever one feels about the current state of the mission in Afghanistan (and this writer for one would like our troops to leave sooner rather than later), it would be ignominious to withdraw under such apparently dishonorable conditions. Yet that has hardly seemed a concern for the “anti-war” left, who have distorted the Vietnam War legacy since the 1960s. The irresponsible and ideologically driven manner in which the left-wing media have covered the Sgt. Bales story speaks volumes about what really animates their agenda.

Throwing into question the media’s presumably noble anti-war aims is the notable shift in coverage from that provided under Bush to under Obama. Under President Bush, the media seemed to revel in providing daily running body counts, ostensibly displaying their concern for individual human life. Support for euthanasia and partial birth abortion make this a questionable façade. Add in continuing defense of green initiatives like the DDT ban, which has killed tens of millions, along with ethanol subsidies, which have driven up the cost of grain in impoverished countries, and an excessive concern for individual human life is very much a questionable credit of the left.

After Obama was inaugurated, unsurprisingly, the running body counts completely disappeared. No real connections between the wars and Obama are being routinely made by the mainstream media. Usually the wars are reported on as if they are occurring in a vacuum, and the Commander-in-Chief is but an innocent bystander. When the troops in Iraq were withdrawn last December, there were no parades for our gutsy soldiers, or editorials in the New York Times calling for such. That would show more than lip service’s worth of respect for our men in uniform.

What should really fall under scrutiny, then, as the facts of the Bales’ case come out, is the way certain media outlets undercut military morale in an underhanded way. It is one thing to condemn a soldier and lament an atrocity. That is understandable and worthy of public discussion. But what is not excusable is the slippery way the left tries to insinuate the actions of one soldier are in any way reflective of the entire armed services, the aims of the wars, or even the country itself.

But this is the problem with collectivism. The sins of one are the blame of the many. The day-to-day anecdotal injustices inherent in life are a justification for the left to take totalitarian control (which history shows does not remedy the unfortunate anomalies of life as much as it systematizes injustice and oppression). If one can adapt a bit of Rawlsian logic, according to the left, even bad luck itself should be outlawed. Misfortune cannot be remedied by folly, any more than the incidental tragedies of war can be resolved by outlawing war itself.

The left refuses to believe in human agency, free will, or individual responsibility. By extension, it has no tolerance for accident and misfortune in human life. As long as this point of view drives the left’s political agenda, the random tragedies committed by the Sgt. Bales of the world will be superseded and compounded by totalizing states, which have decreasing appreciation for individual life or human action.

Media Deception and Brainwashing Techniques Working Well

I ran across an article by Ben Kinchlow in a World Net Daily “Commentary” column  a few days ago, and the title caught my attention. The “Exclusive” line hit a nerve with me. The quote in that line, “Founders’ intent has been subverted by new doctrine” must be the largest understatement in the history of this nation. But he hits the nail on the head, directly and powerfully. This article by Kinchlow is absolutely fabulous and right on the money. He has broken our nation’s problems down to a level that anyone with any bit of comprehension should be able to see and understand. The media is one great big propaganda scheme orchestrated to control everything we think, and do.

The media tells us how we “deserve” anything and everything we desire, and that whatever we want should be provided for us by someone else. Unfortunately it is working all too well. These people are trampling on the very fabric of our nation and pulling the rug of freedom right out from underneath us while millions sit around and watch the latest rage in “I Got’s Some Talent” nonsense.
Kinchlow quite aptly describes the treatment and even the “labeling” of conservative elements in society today by the media, and the politicians they pay to control us with laws and regulations. Isn’t profiling and labeling wrong according to these very media brainiacs? Everything the founders stood for is ridiculed at the very least. Most of the values of Washington, Jefferson, Madison, and the others are totally derided or ignored by the media and the politicians. Anyone espousing anything decent, honest, traditional, or earned is ridiculed and intimidated into silence by bullies and tyrants. And don’t you dare bring any mention or glimpse of anything remotely Christian.

Time Magazine comes out and says Catholic bishops should be put in prison for expressing their outrage at the latest example of dictatorial bullying in the Sebelius rule about abortion and religious facilities (a part of Obamacare no one mentioned in the highlight reels of the campaign). That is some nice “freedom of speech” stance by that veritable Communist rag. “Thank You 3rd Rail” for the staunch defense of freedom of speech for all. Now, back to “I Got’s Some Talent”.

And while America is focused on the latest “talent” show serial, the politicians are flowing with this politically correct nonsense and passing laws and regulations, including involving our very use of language (“Hate Crimes” legislation comes to mind). More “feel good”, “let’s stop bullies” legislation, yeah!!! But it doesn’t stop the bullies, it only encourages them. The bullies are the ones deciding what is bullying and what is “freedom of speech”.

When you see there the money is and where it goes in KInchlow’s article you begin to find a pattern. The unions, and Wall Street / “K” Street tycoons make and spend their money in the same places. Look at the money spent by politicians and their backers to buy media time, some of it even acknowledged as political ads. Go research some more and broaden your horizons. This is one big circle of financial deals that doesn’t include us “commoners”. This benefits the REAL 1%’ers, and it really isn’t that hard to see if you look.

Take a real close look at the Republican candidate debates. The “moderators” can’t find anything more important than who is going to pay for condoms for whom? The candidates all wring their hands and say we have to be “compassionate”, and “we need to be inclusive”, yada yada yada. We are being played by a very elaborate system of bait and switch, and we are being played by professionals. This is what they do, con good hearted people into doing what is desired by the baiters. It is a mob mentality of “attack the one who doesn’t conform”. Isolate, Denigrate, Destroy. Make an example of one to keep millions in line.

Your freedoms are being spirited away right under your noses. Anyone who stands up and speaks out against this activity is pounced on by the wolves in an instant. Look at the treatment given “Joe the Plumber”, Sarah Palin, Sharon Angle, Christine O’Donnell, and countless others who have had the audacity to stand in defiance of the media and their left-wing politicians (both parties included here).

And notice how few of the “staunch conservatives” in the Senate stand with Jim DeMint and Tom Coburn when it comes time to start giving some semblance of control back to the citizens. The House of Representatives is even worse. Leadership of both parties in both houses of Congress is corrupt and playing us every day by cheap talk and actions opposite of what they promised us to get elected.
Once again the Republican Party trots out a bunch of current or former politicians, the same lame ones who have had a hand in ruining our nation, and tells us we better “pick one of them or our nation is lost”. “Anyone but Obama, as long as it is one of these guys”. Go back as far as Gerald Ford and see if I am right (guess who didn’t want Ronald Reagan). And then all the “conservative” talking heads come on and tear anyone who does not fit their agenda to pieces, i.e., Herman Cain. “Conservatives need not apply” is the message from those running the Republican Party and its propaganda arm in the media. Of course, the Democrat Party and their large propaganda subsidies are more than happy to assist in the character assassination of anyone remotely conservative in any value. Oh, by the way, “truth need not apply” either.

Each candidate is the “only one” that can solve our nation’s woes and “if we don’t vote for him we are doomed” We the People are also told, by the same media people mentioned earlier, that Republicans better nominate Mitt Romney, not so affectionately known here as Mitty the Poo, or “all is lost”. What a line of crap; but out trots John McCain to endorse Mitty. “He lost to me last time so it is his turn for the limelight”. “Mitty is my ‘Jimmy Carter’ moment”. “Thanks, Mitty”. “He will lose worse than I did and I will be off the hook as the worst candidate ever”.

Now, back to “I Got’s SomeTalent”. In the meanwhile politicians are busy tightening controls on internet information. We saw what they did to the TV broadcasts a few months back. They haven’t quite managed to totally control the internet yet but they are very close, watch for March 8th. Those intent on taking total control of everything in America are dependant that citizens continue to be enamored with the latest cutsey talent show while they destroy your very way of life.

Are you aware of how society used to be in Cuba, pre-Castro? Not the way it is portrayed in the media, but the REAL society of Cuba. There were rich, there were poor, and there was the middle class. After Che Guevara and Fidel Castro were finished there were only very rich and very poor. The ultra wealthy paid Castro for protection, or left the island. Those without the assets to pick up and move to America had everything they owned taken by the government. Homeowners were pushed out of their homes and business owners were pushed out of their businesses by bureaucrats. Those who worked to earn the wages for a decent income were forced to become slaves because the “benevolent rulers” decided that poverty was a good lifestyle, it was equal for everyone. Of course, that “everyone” didn’t include the Castro brothers and their friends.

Ladies and Gentlemen of America, you are being played for suckers by people with evil intent. Once you have frittered all of your rights away you will be cannon fodder for tyrants. These tyrants are in both political parties. When “I Got’s Talent” is no longer needed to distract you it will go away and you will be left with a situation you really don’t want. But by then it will be too late to do anything about it, the barn door will have been shut, the trap door will have come down.

We don’t have to fall for this and lose the republic our founding fathers forged with their courage and their blood. There is time, there are solutions but it is up to We the People to implement those solutions. I have some thoughts, Next!!!!!

I submit this in the name of the Most Holy Trinity, in faith, with the responsibility given to me by Almighty God to honor his work and not let it die from neglect.

Breitbart IS John Galt

Guest post by suzibasterd

Andrew Breitbart is a force of nature, and I use the current tense intentionally; he will never leave us. Many words have been said about his passing. Many tears have been shed. Shock over his death was not an uncommon emotion and while the conservative community rallied and mourned, the progressives showed their true, gangrenous heart through the vitriol that they spewed in all communication mediums.

But enough about what happened. Let us focus, instead, upon what is…and that “is” is a BIG one, just as BIG as Breitbart and all his BIG websites.

Andrew Breitbart IS John Galt.

If you don’t know who John Galt is, I’m not sure if I should tell you to stop reading now and get thee to a library or a bookstore and read “Atlas Shrugged” or tell you to keep reading and THEN go get a copy. But I digress.

John Galt, beloved character of “Atlas Shrugged,” brought the men of the mind back to their senses. He taught them that they didn’t need to apologize for their success or their independence. “You are attacked, not for any errors or flaws, but for your virtues. You are denounced, not for any weaknesses, but for your strength.”

Breitbart was repeatedly attacked by the insidious left and he, unlike many of us before he came along, reveled in it. Andrew showed us that all we need to do is shine the light…and the truth…on the lies of the left and they will writhe and shrink like slugs with salt poured on them.

Galt and Breitbart both shrugged the feebleness of the left off their shoulders as if they were no more than a feather. When John Galt is asked by a looter what he thinks of the looter, Galt’s response is, “But I don’t think of you.” When told he should apologize for something, Breitbart’s response was, “Apologize for WHAT?”

Galt led the way to a better life by ignoring the left and Breitbart led the way by attacking them, but both showed that the left…the progressive, unscrupulous left of yesterday and today…are the antithesis of goodness and right.

And while John Galt took away producers from the world, Breitbart urged today’s producers to “run towards the fire!” He recognized the looter mentality of the progressive movement, most especially the progressive news media and their selective reporting, if not their outright lies, and he went toe-to-toe with all of them, begging them to prove him wrong. They never could.

It was his conviction in his rightness that makes Breitbart our Galt.

It was his fearlessness.

It was, most of all, his virtue.

Republicans: still searching for a fight they can win.

Obama signs another IOU as Congressional Democrats applaud

Rep. Frank Wolf (R–VA) and I disagree on term limits. I’m a firm believer in 12 years and you’re out — while Wolf is an advocate of the 30 years and counting philosophy. (Unless Frank doesn’t have any other options, because his family refuses to spend more time with him.)

But based on his courageous vote last week against the payroll tax extension, it’s safe to say we do see eye–to–eye with regard to what the media terms “bipartisanship.”

This is important because in a presidential election year independent voters are going to be bombarded with stories touting the benefits of “bipartisan cooperation” between Democrats and Republicans.

The political calculation in the media is bipartisan = good. Conversely, refusal to compromise principles = bad. So independents should either support “bipartisan” candidates who just happen to vote for liberal legislation or stick with the genuine article and vote Democrat.

Independent voters that are concerned about the country’s continued deficit spending should not meekly accept the media’s definition of political progress, because that definition undermines everything in which they believe.

This is because bills that pass Congress with bipartisan support and media approval in the days of Obama, are bills that increase spending and hasten our descent into drachma–based budgeting. And voting to extend the payroll tax cut is a perfect example.

Usually Democrats believe Americans are under–taxed and only their stubborn greed stands in the way of Nirvana in America. This time Democrats support the payroll tax cut extension because passage improves Obama’s prospects for re–election. What Democrats oppose is making the extension deficit–neutral by cutting spending somewhere else to offset lost revenue.

Republicans don’t like the extension because it undermines funding for Social Security, does not provide any real economic stimulus and will add approximately $100 billion to the deficit.

A genuine compromise would address elements of both positions. A bill that continued the tax cut for the rest of 2012, so Obama can slide past election day, and was offset by spending cuts would give Democrats and Republicans their top priority, while forcing compromise elsewhere.

Yet the “bipartisan” bill the country got extended the tax cuts with zero budget cuts.

To put this in perspective, total federal spending for this fiscal year is estimated to be $3.8 trillion. A cut of $100 billion from that gusher of Chinese–backed indebtedness is less than three cents on the dollar, yet Democrats would not cut a penny.

In fact this bill wipes out the measly $95 billion in deficit reduction “victory” the House GOP leadership sweated bullets to achieve last year.

Wolf describes the bill as, “…shameful. The American people are right to be disappointed that the president and the Congress have walked away from every serious deficit reduction effort. They should be appalled that both sides have joined together to spend more money and weaken Social Security.”

And Rep. Jeff Flake (R–AZ) hit the nail on the head, “Why is it that the only time we can come together and reach an agreement…increases the deficit or explodes spending? That’s enough to make the country cry for more partisanship.” Or if not more partisanship, at least some leadership, but that does not appear to be on the horizon either.

Republican leaders were faced with a choice: defeat the extension because it increases the deficit, moves Social Security another step down the road to a welfare program and is simply irresponsible vote–buying. Knowing full well that Obama will characterize their opposition as refusing a tax cut for the middle class, while protecting the rich.

Or they can choose to crater on the spending cuts offset and vote for a fiscally irresponsible bill knowing that Obama will use the bill’s passage as proof he’s fighting for the middle class, while the GOP is only interested in protecting the rich.

Someone please help me find the victory here. The reality is Republicans face a hostile media that favors spending and an administration that wants to increase spending. Making the case for cuts is not going to get any easier. If GOP leadership is unable to make the case for small spending cuts now, there is no chance they will successfully make the case for major spending cuts we must make in the near future.

Meanwhile, according to the Washington Post, smug Republican House veterans who supported the “compromise” said conservative freshmen “had touched the stove and finally realized it was burning hot.”

The veteran’s advice was the usual: voting for pork is the best insulation.

Why Newt Appeals to Americans

Newt Gingrich is beginning to soar in the polls for many reasons. He is clearly the leader in the debates, which are really question and answer forums, for the Republican nomination. This is decidedly a factor in his popularity among those people who watch them.

His assault on the media’s hypocrisy concerning how they treat Democrats as opposed to Republicans is something to which people are drawn. This is something which people have been talking about for years and have not been able to do anything about beyond turning off the MSM news programs. Newt is getting back at the press for the duplicity of the press, a business protected by the First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States in order to protect the right of the people to get the facts about what is going on in our government without government interference. The people of the USA know the media isn’t doing their job and they know the media has become an opinion generating machine for the Democratic Party.

People are angry. People are fuming at the President, at Congress and at the way their freedoms are being whittled away incrementally. They are angry at SCOTUS for legislating from the Bench. People are tired of being dictated to, of having their elections overturned by activist judges who are not elected.

But there is something much more subtle about his popularity that stems from this anger: it’s the way his vicious attacks on President (and I use that word loosely) Obama are seen by citizens. Newt is the only candidate to not only go after the media and the government, but he unequivocally goes after Obama in a way that people can’t. Common citizens, (actually, we’re subjects now,) are not allowed to vent the anger we feel openly in a public forum against the President and what he’s doing to our country without the old RACIST label being attached to them. People want to beat someone up for all the draconian actions this government, especially Obama, have taken against WE THE PEOPLE. The anger runs deep and it is frustrating to the people of this country to not be able to physically take their anger out on someone. It is not only pleasing to people that Newt is harassing the press, but that he is aggressively beating Obama’s policies to a pulp and it’s satisfying to those who can’t get up on a stage and speak their minds. The fact that firearm sales have skyrocketed is indicative of people’s fears and anger. People are ready to fight in the streets to protect the Constitution of the United States. Newt appears to be doing this for them in a verbal barrage calling legislatures, and the press, on their inequities.

This is probably the most important election we’re going to have as a country since the Constitution was adopted by the original Thirteen States. The Civil War elections weren’t even as important because that didn’t decide which direction our country would take on so many different levels of political tangents. Lincoln had to contend with the split of the country and yes, it was a Constitutional Crisis but he didn’t have to be concerned about massive government spending, Social Security, Welfare, wars in several different countries waged by a small number of American volunteers or any of the other issues we as Americans face today. The most important of the issues we are facing is whether or not we’re to remain a country that practices Free Market Capitalism or become a full blown Marxist state using fascism first, and gradually leading to communism. And Newt isn’t afraid to bring this argument to the debates right now, or those in the future with Obama.
Newt is fulfilling a psychological need of the general populace in this country. And people trust him to continue if he’s eventually elected as the nominee for President of the USA by the rank and file GOP. After all, after Saturday, January 22nd, 2012, there are still 47 states to vote in the primaries. People see Newt as having the brass balls they want the GOP nominee to have and they have not seen this kind of truthfulness or aggression since Reagan.

Oh, wait, is that 54 states?

How Much Of What We "See" Is Real?

I found this and posted it to CNC, but realized I should probably share it here, as well. This is an eye-opening video of a project which shows us the “behind-the-scenes” view of media photojournalism.

While this particular video highlights the situation in Israel, it will be interesting to see how this project turns out. Are Pakistan and Afghanistan similar? I say similar, because in Israel there is, without a doubt, a REAL conflict, even if many incidents are staged. It began in the book of Genesis in the Bible.

One thing for certain: this video definitely makes you wonder how much of what we “see” in the media is “staged”. I would venture to say a LOT!

Tim Tebow Does it Again, and So Does Mainstream Media

Tim Tebow has done it again. As quarterback of the Denver Broncos, this past weekend he led them to yet another fourth quarter comeback victory. With the Chicago Bears up 10 points, he put together two drives that ended with a 59-yard Pratter kick sending the game into overtime. This is where Pratter kicked the game winning 51-yard kick to give Tebow his seventh win out of eight starts, impeccable for a veteran let alone a sophomore professional. Among all this, mainstream media is dismissing the remarkable stories for a fixation on his display of faith and being a Christian.

Mainstream media has become the social bullies to Christianity, on a scale unmet by any schoolyard kid. They spotlight Tim pointing to the sky, bowing in prayer and comments to his Savior Jesus. While also pointing out Reggie White “polarizing religious figure”, ESPN points to an “era of negativity and anonymous hate”.  In some instances, the media has watchdogs for themselves. Newsbusters didn’t waste any time in criticizing USA Today for ignoring Tim Tebow’s religious stance. By the way, who really has a problem with Tim’s religious acts?

Earlier last week, Fox Sports highlighted John Elway’s comments denouncing Tim Tebow’s display of faith. John later admitted that he had given the media too much meat to spin.

The mainstream media seems to have a serious problem with his displaying loyalty to God and their true colors toward Christianity are clear. Before Tim Tebow could make it out of the stadium, the Wall Street Journal stated, “defying his critics and revealing the deep seated anxieties in American society about intertwining religion and sports.” Who? Maybe the fans of his opponent or a few activist groups who advocate for an overreaching government may have a problem with Tebow’s celebrations. According to the PEW Forum on Religion & Public Life, 78.4 percent of Americans practice Christianity. We are constantly bombarded by the supposed disrespect that displaying Christianity has become…and Tim represents this.

What’s wrong with him thanking God, praying or practicing Christianity? Is this about people having a problem with a 24-year old demonstrating his faith or the future mainstream media and Hollywood has of our future, America without religion? It is painted as this evil ritual that should not be tolerated and Tim Tebow must be put in his collective place. We, as the audience, are robbed of the great accomplishments and example of this kid.

Our media is full of anti-religion memorabilia. No stone was left unturned when it came to Terry Jones burning the Koran. …and no funeral would be complete without the anti-military or anti-gay rhetoric of the Westboro Baptist Church. Even Hollywood took their digs when Mel Gibson produced “Passion of the Christ,” that ended up 17th on the all-time gross sales list. After this, Mel Gibson’s career seem to have taken a nose dive.

These events are even monitored at the local level. In Newport News, Virginia, The Daily Press addressed the practicing of religion in public concerns from the Freedom from Religion Foundation, a group based out of Madison, Wisconsin. The article even provides recommendations in luau of prayer…a moment of silence. Now, they provide guidelines to clergy for providing invocation at city council meetings, a sort of practice our religion. I guess the practice of Atheism should be addressed in this manner or the right that our clergy is not provided the right to practice freedom of religion in public.

During the New York City mosque incident, the mainstream media injected it was a freedom of religion practice ensuring that the narrative remained as such. The true argument was about flying the flag of the people who declared war under that flag. Now, if the discussion was about how far this corridor should reside, so be it but it wasn’t. It was determined that the mosque must be built in the shadows of the World Trade Center.

The media and Hollywood continues to expose Christians as evil and religion having no place in public. Should we be given the right to practice freedom of religion…that’s one of our Constitutional rights? And even though you cannot opt your kid out of sex education class, the clergy’s prayer has no place in the American public.

Meanwhile, Tim Tebow has offered us an insight to how the media views religion. We have a media that extenuates the circumstances involving religious acts. They paint a tone that seems rather anti-religion and highlights flaws of a person that commits flaws. As we have bureaucrats and politicians robbing us blind, the media focuses on Tim’s allegedly breaking up Lindsey Vonn’s marriage, and International Business has labeled him as “God’s Quarterback”. It’s nice to see a young man doing what he enjoys, inspired by his faith providing a self-confidence that inspires him to do remarkable things…and inspire others around him. This is the true issue, we cannot have citizen’s inspired by a God that promotes individualism and self-responsibility. Faith that instills a belief in yourself and a responsibility to yourself, a standard most people cannot obtain. Media has no place in a peerson’s relationship with God.

With Tim Tebow’s success, the media is forced to engage on this adventure waiting on the opportunity for him to fail. As we know, his comeback victories will not last forever. So the mainstream media will eventually have their time with their “see we told you so” glory. But for now, they will need to wait another week to baste in the glory of another American individual failing. If there people are truly disgusted with his display of religion, it’s likely because he is beating their team and the mainstream media is taking advantage of this, by pointing out what they view as a fringe ritual.

For that reason, I have become a Denver Broncos, Tim Tebow fan. Not only because of his God given ability but because of the role model he is, how others are inspired by him and his respect for others. Will he slip up? He is only human. For now, the only limits on Tim Tebow are the ones he puts upon himself and this cannot be tolerated in a collective world, a mainstream media’s utopia without religion.

It’s a shame because the media will be waiting to gleefully point out his flaws and how hypocritical it is. But for now, they will need to wait another week.

For this reason, I’d like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a MERRY CHRISTMAS.

Media Bias and Cover-up

Why are the main stream media, and even “conservative” media, ignoring the story about John Dummett and the Liberty Legal Foundation in their suit against the Democrat Party over the certification of Barack Obama as an eligible presidential candidate? Why are we, instead, talking about the latest “bimbo eruption” that seems to have no real basis in fact?

John Dummett is a registered, eligible candidate for the Republican presidential nomination for the 2012 elections. He is recognized in all 50 states and by the Federal Election Commission. He and Van Irions of the Liberty Legal Foundation are trying to save a nation from a despot who should never have been on the ballot in the first place. The media that are supposed to be on our side, the side of We the People, ignore the most important development in the “nullification” movement. This case has moved far beyond any other attempt. The reason is the context of the lawsuit. I am not going to go into all of the details here but you can go to this link and find all the details you want to read.

The question being raised by this lawsuit is not the “birth certificate issue” but instead targets the citizenship of Obama’s father. I understand why the main stream media doesn’t cover it, they are the propaganda arm of the Democrat Party, of that there is no doubt. What I don’t understand is the “conservative” media remaining silent on this matter. It is a legitimate story with serious consequences to the future of our nation. Yet, even they focus on whether Herman Cain is handling his “bimbo circus” properly.

The point of this article isn’t the legal ramifications and “legalese” of the eligibility issue. My focus is on the lack of reporting on a serious issue in favor of a negative fluff thing with no solid basis. As I stated, I understand the main stream media not covering this because it will effectively remove their “messiah” from the scene and undo everything he has done.

The “conservative” media and the other Republican candidates say nothing, and when asked anything about Obama’s eligibility status shrug it off as nothing but a bunch of “nuts” or “birthers”. It would seem they are afraid of the race card, or just don’t care about the Constitution. I wonder if the 9th Circuit Court, the most liberal in the nation, are “racists, nuts, and birthers” also. They are the ones who said John could pursue this after courts have turned down a dozen or more attempts by others.

Why do the media and talking heads on the “right” spend all of their time trashing any but the most liberal in the Republican Party? They talk about how bad we need a candidate who can beat Obama and then push the most liberal Republican they can find. That tactic worked out well in 2008 didn’t it? The media, those who are supposed to be on our side, completely ignore the issue, and the man, who just might take Obama down; and has certainly gone farther than anyone else ever has. Is that not newsworthy?
Whether or not the media personnel agree with John Dummett is immaterial, they should report the story. What WE the People have available to us in the way of truthful reporting is the internet and blog radio. We must spread the message of this matter and force the media to cover it. The Constitution is in danger of being rendered irrelevant, and those who talk of how they are the “watchdogs” of government are asleep on guard duty. That is a court-martial offense in the military, but standard operating procedures in the press.

The future of America is at stake and those who pledge to inform us objectively and fairly only cover what is “politically correct”. Covering the Cain non-story deflects attention from matters much more serious. Are the “conservative” talking heads really interested in We the People or are they more concerned with their face time on network television? Who is setting the agenda for the “conservative” media? The fate of our nation doesn’t seem to too high on their list of important matters.

It seems to me as if the television network talking heads on the” right” are more interested in keeping the status quo than they are in finding the truth about the eligibility question. Are they doing the job of the “Third Rail”, or are they merely securing their face time by insuring that people like John Dummett, a down home conservative-to-the-bone patriot, are never heard in public?

I would think that these media people would be happy to see true conservatives step up to save our nation, someone putting their life on hold to make a difference. What we see in actuality is media support for professional politicians and the super wealthy who can afford to spend months travelling around the country campaigning, without acknowledging what could be the most important issue we face today.

It seems to me that those media people, the ones “on our side” who have national exposure, are so concerned with their future income that the truth can go by the wayside so they don’t really have to stick their necks out. As soon as any “conservative” commentator with national exposure stands up for the truth in this matter they will be pilloried and they aren’t willing to take that kind of heat. The race card, as lame as it is, will come out against them from the left and their cohorts on the “right”. Since none of them want to be the object of this derision from their peers they remain silent.

Our nation faces a danger more perilous than even World War II. We find our own government trying to subjugate us and those media people who are supposed to be protecting us with the truth wouldn’t know the truth if it slapped them in the face. The “right wing” media is nothing but the propaganda arm of the Ivy League Republican Party establishment. And I don’t mean the party of Reagan, as such is no longer the case. The Republican Party has been inundated with Democrats, politicians and media personnel.

These Democrats, like Rick Perry of Texas, ran from their party when the Marxists began taking over instead of staying and fighting for their party. Others changed over when they saw the pendulum swinging back towards the Republican Party, and rather than be on the outside they decided to “change” parties for the “hope” of acceptance and a lofty position due to their “change of heart”. They didn’t have a change of heart, they had a case of political opportunism and it worked perfectly. We now see the party of Reagan turned into the party of Democrat cowards who ran from one fight and are now running from another one but taking conservatives with them down the road to tyranny and despotism.

Where is the courage in the “conservative” media? Where are the Republican “strategists” and “analysts” who will stand up for We the People, the 67% who call ourselves TEA Party conservatives? Where are the strategists and analysts who have the courage to stand up for the truth? Where are the conservative media people with the courage to take the story of a common man sticking his neck out to save a nation?

It is up to WE the People to spread the word of freedom and truth throughout the land. We cannot count on any media people to help, it is up to us alone. If we will have the courage shown by John Dummett and Van Irions, we can overcome a media biased against us.
The internet and blog-o-sphere are large enough and popular enough that we can spread this message to all corners of our nation. If you will take the time to look at the case being presented, you will see the possibilities. Don’t buy into the hype that it isn’t possible, that is the defeatist attitude the party machines want you to have. Some people in George Washington’s day thought what they were doing was impossible too, but these people forged the freest and most prosperous nation ever seen on this earth.

It is up to us, We the People of These United States, to insure the future freedom of America. It is up to us to stand up and support those like John Dummett and Van Irions, men who will stick their necks out and speak truth when it would be easier to be silent.

Where is the courage in the media to tell the truth about this issue, or any other issue for that matter? Political expediency and political correctness are combining to destroy our nation. The internet and the blog-o-sphere are our source of the truth, not television talk shows. Until the media gets over their egos and begins to put the truth and the best interests of our nation first we will find ourselves going down the path to the total extinction of our freedoms.

I submit this in the name of the Most Holy Trinity, in faith, with the responsibility given to me by Almighty God To honor His work and not let it die from neglect.

Michael Jordan's 'Hitler' Mustache

I thought I might be the only one to have noticed this; alas, in today’s interconnected world someone else had not only noticed it but posted it with a helpful little circle and sound effect.

Now I truly enjoyed watching Jordan’s basketball career (except when he was demolishing the Lakers) and what he’s done afterward has been fairly remarkable as well, but perhaps someone could have approached him to discuss the diabolical historical reference his shaving habits would call up.

I’ll confess here and now to having shaved my facial hair into that pattern just so that I could look into the mirror and see how truly stupid it looked and then finish the job of cleaning my upper lip. Leaving my shower looking like that, and even more amazingly, appearing in a National Television Commercial for Hane’s Underwear looking like that would NEVER occur to me.

I’m amazed that no one at Hane’s had the presence of mind to say something.  It’s not easy to correct someone who is more powerful & influential than you, but someone should have stepped up because it’s just stupid and tasteless.

Hank Williams Jr. Calls Media Kamikaze Pilots!

As many are probably aware, last night the country music awards occurred. The show began with a tribute to Bocephus, as Brad Paisley, who jokingly called himself Bradcephus, began by playing the tune to Williams’ Monday Night Football theme song, which ESPN yanked from the air, because apparently Hank Williams has no right to express his opinion. Carrie Underwood stopped him in horror, explaining they couldn’t sing the song because Williams ‘compared’ Obama to Hitler. The two then jokingly sang about how people could drink before interviews but not compare the president to Hitler on national TV. Bocephus himself then appeared and the trio sang an opening for the awards to his football theme.

What country music fans, and those who don’t subscribe to Glenn Beck’s new network, GBTV, don’t know is that Williams repeated his offense mere hours before the tribute.

On Wednesday night, GBTV did live pre-coverage of the awards show and Glenn Beck himself sat down with none other than Hank Williams Jr. As they chatted, Williams mentioned the work that he has been doing since ESPN kicked him off the air for exercising his first amendment right. Williams discusses the new album he has been working on, and uses yet another World War II analogy to describe his motivation. “When I get motivated look out. I’m Pearl Harbor. They were the Japanese. Look out,” Williams said in the interview.

When will the violent rhetoric end? Clearly, he’s accusing the media of being Kamikaze pilots out to destroy him! Where’s the outrage, media?

Sarcasm aside, any rational human being can see that he is not in fact calling the media outlets Kamikaze pilots. Just as saying that Boehner playing golf with Obama is like Netanyahu playing golf with Hitler is not equating Obama to Hitler. It is using a literary device to make a point more understandable by drawing parallels to events or figures a person is familiar with. The point here is to point out the media hypocrisy, who get outraged over the use of metaphors but have no problem with Bill Ayers blowing up buildings with the Weather Underground and holding a professorship at the University of Illinois, or Joe Biden calling Tea Partiers terrorists. In Biden’s case, we were told that we shouldn’t focus on language. So how come in Williams’ case it’s perfectly fine to focus on language? To the point where he lost his job over something he said?

Sorry main stream media, but until you address that problem, my loyalty and viewership will remain with ‘crazy extremists’ like Glenn Beck and Hank Williams Jr, who stand up for what they believe in and don’t persecute those who think differently.

Facebook and Closet Conservatism

As CDN’s Facebook presence has grown, I’ve been watching an interesting trend emerge – closet Conservatism in social media.

Closet Conservatives are those that agree with most or all of the tenets of the ideology but wouldn’t necessarily want their closest friends and relatives to know.

They may have several copies of the Constitution in various forms, have read the Federalist papers, know who Hayek and Keynes are – but they don’t want their inner circle to necessarily know of their interest in these things.

There are many reason to keep ones political leanings tucked neatly away. Perhaps their families and friends lean to the left or don’t have any interest in politics.

This behavior is well-known when face-to-face interaction is expected. It is considered common decency NOT to discuss politics at a bar or party. It is frowned upon to discuss politics at work – unless you work at an online political news outlet …

What I’ve noticed is that these rules of interaction seem to have been carried into the social media space.

While our fan page is growing very quickly and we are seeing high numbers of Facebookers “talking about” us, what’s interesting is how. While just about every single post is greeted with “likes” and some comments – sharing is done only by the most vocal – those who haven’t had any problem letting everyone else know what they think or that are already activists.

When someone ‘Shares’ a post, it – and the sharer’s comment – appears on their Facebook Wall and is broadcast to all of their friends through the FB News Feed. Alternatively, liking a post does not include the commentary that would signify approval or dissent.

That made me think back to my first few forays into Facebook. I had at first used my personal Facebook page to talk about baseball, shooting, the family and yes – politics. Some in my family are still stuck left-of-center and were put-off by seeing news and opinion from anything not to aligned with what the MSM had been telling them. At first, I actually gave in to the pressure and just concentrated on the fan page instead for political discussion – I was doing it too!

I’ve since gone back to discussing everything that is me – yes politics too – on my Facebook page and have shared my favorite posts from the CDN Facebook fan page – maybe a few of them will actually get a few of my family or friends that aren’t thinking about this stuff – to think about it.
