First Year Teacher Hailed as Hero in Marysville School Shooting

A Newly hired Social Studies teacher is being hailed a hero in the Marysville, WA school shooting.

Megan Silberberger, a first year Social Studies teacher, reportedly confronted the shooter while he was reloading. During that confrontation the shooter was killed.

Police are currently calling the ending shot a self-inflicted gunshot wound, but it is not yet clear whether the shooter intentionally shot himself or was shot during a struggle with the teacher.

The attacker, Jaylen Fryberg, killed one female student and critically wounded four others before he was stopped.

A devastatingly strong storm system that stretched from the Great Lakes to the Gulf left a wake of destruction as it passed through America’s mid-West on Friday.

Two towns, Marysville and Henryville, Indiana were hit hardest. Marysville’s Sheriff Adams said that “Marysville is completely gone”. Aerial footage from the Red Cross confirms the scope of the damage in Henryville.
