Tis the season to be jolly, or so the saying goes. There are more important stories than this one for sure but, I feel compelled to share this short story about the salesman from hell, while also discussing the importance of integrity in all individuals. This isn’t really news, but its purpose is legendary; it focuses on our expectations of a car salesman along with other people as well.

The long and short of the story is this: This is my third Mercedes-Benz, all bought in MO, two of which were bought at one dealership in Ellisville, MO. All things considered Mercedes-Benz financial is very good, my service rep is also a commendable individual, but the sales man I just dealt with in November is someone I would consider as a person who literally has no scruples. The General Manager is also a person not to high on the list of people with moral or ethical charecter for a number of reasons as well, but I won’t into all that here.

The long and short of it is this: I called to trade in my 450 GL for a Black 2010 ML. I ended up leaving with a 2009 ML, which by the way I can’t stand, because 1. it is a piece of S —. I already bought it once so far – one of the things on this CPO vehicle was the back seatbelt doesn’t work Guess what? It still doesn’t work. ; 2. I took the car based on an outright lie by my salesman, which it didn’t even occur to me until I drove it off the lot. ( which by the way occurred around 4:30 pm and I called him the next morning beginning at 7:30am).

In a nutshell my salesman quoted me a payment on the 2009, thereby convincing me to buy the 2009 over the 2010. What he quoted was not even remotely close to what I am paying, nor what we discussed. Clearly, his own gain was all that mattered in this deal. Furthermore, my contacting the General Mgr., also proved to be a waste of time. But what is really disheartening, is that I WAS as a regular customer of Mercedes-Benz, and one would think they would show some appreciation, rather than being condescending, rude, and outright liars. My request to the GM, which occurred less than 12 hrs after my driving off their lot, was treated with very little regard and I was simply dismissed . That request consisted of the following: give me my GL, the 2010 I called about, or make this car payment the amount I was quoted. Since I have a 2.9 interest rate that speaks volumes about my credit history with MBF.

Most of us work hard and make a lot of sacrifices throughout our lives to obtain the things we want in live. A car, any car, is a large purchase a lot of money. I think most of us somehow believe we have this fiduciary relationship with the salesman. When ask them to honor our requests we just assume they have integrity to do so. Sadly, my salesman found clearly lacks integrity based on both his words to me and his actions. But all this really made me think about integrity and how it is really falling short in our society. So many people worship the value of the almighty dollar over that of relationships, regardless of the type of relationship. Seemingly, the anger that occurs, as the result of a faulty deal, the lies, or just the blatant disrespect seems to be happening all to often and with little regard for the victim.

As a result of my experience I decided to do a random survey at a nearby Mall over Christmas to see how many people have had negative experience with a car salesman. Sadly, after talking to 50-100 people over half reported they did have a bad experience at one time or another, but after one time they never returned. What was interesting is that many of the people believed there was a direct correlation between car saleman and bad attitudes. Perhaps the level of pressure to sell, in a failing economy, is a contributing factor. I don’t know. What I do is that I have been buying cars, new cars, for along time and never once have I been treated with such little regard.

For me, integrity is everything, without it you have nothing. If you lie about little things, you probably lie about bigger things as well. Honesty, integrity is something I have drilled into my son’s, and I hope they drill it into their children, and so on. Ask yourself this one question; Is it so surprising that a society whose morals and values have digressed as they have would end up with a failing economy, socialist president, and the continued dismantling of our constitution? Is that so surprising? After all, they are the people we vote into office, they are the people we trust, and it all begins with a simple thing you don’t think twice about like buying a car.

There is a comeuppance, a reckoning if you will, heading for you elitist journoliars after the smoke clears from this election.

You will be held accountable. You can take that to the bank.

The hacks and con artists who daily get behind their microphones and computer monitors and churn out the most absurd, smirk-inducing confabulations on behalf of a lying, thieving, race-baiting sorry excuse of a party are about to have the sh*t-eating grins wiped off their faces.

Americans aren’t buying your BS anymore. Expect that trend to continue for… well, from now on.

Public trust in news media is tanking. More Americans are turning to social media to escape the paid propagandists’ web of lies. 58% get political information from the Internet and 53% will “fact check” politicians’ claims. And now, after it has become apparent that we are being lied to on a daily basis, Americans are organizing to ring the death knell for the paleomedia and their extinct journalistic standards of ethics.

Rage Against the Media (RATM) is a group organized by Dr. Karen Siegumund. CDN’s own Kira Davis and comedian-sage Evan Sayet participated in the RATM rally out at CBS studios in Los Angeles on October 20th.

The following is Dr. Siegemund’s message to Americans, republished with permission:

Rage Against the Media has almost 2500 members, each of whom realizes the blatant bias of the mainstream media and is horrified at the damage that it does. The group was born out of anger at the media’s handling of the murders in Benghazi, and as time goes on since this past Sept 11, the media’s refusal to address those events and the lies out of the White House has become even more blatant. The media recognizes that it was they who made the rise of this freshman senator from Illinois possible – it must be terrifying to them to realize that by investigating and reporting on the events in Benghazi and the subsequent WH cover-up, that they could bring him down. Even as the media engages in their delaying tactics, however, RATM is fighting against them in a few ways.

We have joined forces with many other groups out there in calling all MSM outlets: NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN, PBS, and various newspapers, as well as the White House, in order to apply as much collective pressure as possible to tell the truth.

But we have also taken a different tack. RAGE AGAINST THE MEDIA is a group of activists with two basic purposes

First, to let the MSM know, as Andrew Breitbart said, “WE ARE WATCHING YOU.”

But we also want to be visible in our protests. All Americans are hurt by this bias – the damage cuts across political boundaries. But too many are unaware that the media they turn to at 6 in the evening, after a long day at work, has already decided on the narrative they chose to tell us – a narrative that protects the president.

So RATM is visible in our activism: we had one inaugural protest in Los Angeles, which drew far more support than one would expect! And we plan many more nationwide. But we also are active on the MSM face book pages. This has the advantage of alerting the media that we are paying attention, but also of making others on their page aware of the bias, and more specifically right now, the cover-up of the events in Benghazi.

By staging coordinated “Facebook Flashmobs” - a term coined by Kyle Becker – where we take on each media site for a specified amount of time, we are able to apply an army of voices in protest against the site, even as we inform their audience of what is being hidden.

By posting, en masse, articles about the Benghazi cover-up written by other, non-MSM sources, we can get out the truth about Benghazi even as we shine a light on the media’s complicity in protecting the President.

By working together, we can have considerable impact, and RATM gives each frustrated individual a vehicle for being heard, for being part of an effort that can be effective. Each voice becomes part of a larger chorus that says: We will not tolerate your lies, your bias, your cover-up. When we say, together, “Americans deserve the truth”, we stand a better chance of having them take notice.

Dr. Siegemund, this American is with you. Bloggers, citizen journalists and concerned Americans, it is time to organize to expose this media cabal that runs cover for the liars and thieves in our government. And we need to not only call the left-wing, corporate media out for their disinformation, we need to shine the light of truth to alert our fellow citizens that our country is being stolen from us, right under many Americans’ noses.

Join Rage Against the Media now.

Below are the Whitehouse.gov’s “11 Facts About the Tax Debate.” As usual, they are out of context, disproportioned, deceptive, and out right false briefing points. Here are just a few reasons why they are nothing more than election year red herrings. (A fitting expression for such socialist ideals.) WH.gov points are in italics.

1. Nearly $1 Trillion would be added to our deficit over 10 years under the Republicans’ proposal to continue tax cuts exclusively to households making more than $250,000 a year and to the wealthiest estates.

Only 1 Trillion in 10 years? That sure is a better than Obama’s plan strapping us with over 10 Trillion more debt in the past 4 years, and much more in the next 10. Republican tax cuts to those who are producing jobs realistically stimulate the economy. History tells us that lower tax rates produce greater employment thus greater tax revenue 100% of the time! Are 100% to 0% not good enough odds?

2. Only 2 percent of American households will benefit from the Republicans’ proposal to extend tax cuts for those with incomes higher than $250,00 a year.

Actually 100% of Americans will benefit. Those 2% are the ones investing in America and want to do more so more people can be employed, pay taxes, spend and invest. All studies of history and economic models show that the sweet spot is about 17% across the board. I.e. a flat tax of 17% produces the maximum revenue by allowing maximum employment and investment. Thus we’re killing our selves by trying to squeeze more money than we can afford, which kills our ability to earn more.

3. Under President Obama’s proposal, only the wealthiest 3 in 1,000 estates would owe any estate tax.

So only the wealthiest 0.3% will pay estate taxes? He’s bragging about this? Notice he doesn’t compare it to a Republican plan; a sure sign they have a better idea.

4. Over the past 4 years, a typical family making $50,000 a year has received tax cuts totaling $3,600 – more if they are putting a child through college.

The White House fails to mention that our average income decreased 3.02% from 2008 to 2010. For a $50K household, a loss of 3.2% is $1,600.

Inflation due to the Fed creating money, “monetizing the debt,” “QE3,” “printing money,” “digitizing money,” you name it. Inflation was 4.46% in 2011 alone. That has lowered the value of $50K by $2,238.

Those two factors alone add up to $3,830. So even if your “tax decrease” was real, your average $50K family lost $283 per year. Does the WH call these bragging rights?

They also fail to mention that he’s just Nationalized ALL student loans, (so he can forgive a great proportion of them). That will cost “average” taxpayers more money. So there are several ways we all pay for other people’s children to go to school. Obama said, “those making under $250,000 won’t see a tax increase.” Yup, they just won’t see it.

5. 5 million families would no longer be eligible for the child tax credit under the Republicans’ tax proposal.

Truth be known, both parties support a modification to the Child Tax Credit. It is due to expire, so the debate is only which plan to adopt.

Additionally, the Treasury Department reports that illegal immigrants filing tax returns using the Individual Tax Identification Number are receiving more than $1.5 billion each year from the federal government through the Child Tax Credit and the Additional Child Tax Credit. Need a fix?

6. Because Republican proposals cut the Earned Income Tax Credit, nearly 6 million working families with children would see their taxes increase – averaging $500 apiece.

The WH has cherry picked only the most conservative of many Republican plans. Many, if not most, do not affect this Credit. In support of those that do, this Credit pays able people for not working. We have enough of that. What is not mentioned is that this proposal also abolishes tax code exemptions and credits for the rich and big business. Everyone who is able needs to pay something. It keeps us all responsibly involved in government.

7. The President’s plan includes almost $700 billion in tax credits to help middle class families pay for health insurance over the next 10 years through the Affordable Care Act.

Somehow we’re to believe we aren’t going to pay the $700 billion. That $700,000,000,000 comes from taxes. How many will loose jobs because companies are forced to cut employment or go bankrupt because they have to pay fines, (oops “taxes,” oh no “fees,” wait “taxes,” whatever)? They’ll have to pay much more just to employ people. That isn’t going to help employment or the tax base.

Thus Obama Care will increase the number of folks relying on taxes to support them and pay for their healthcare, thus driving that 700 billion estimate off the scale. This is a “Cloward and Piven” plan, plain and simple. ”Overload the economic system through escalating the need for entitlements by the increased tax load to fund them. Mr. Obama once taught the Cloward and Piven’s strategy to collapse capitalism. Now he’s implementing it.

It has become common to name a Law the opposite of its worst feature to mask its true identity, i.e. ”The Federal Reserve” which is private and has no reserves. Would you vote for the “Unaffordable but Compassionate Care Act”?

8. The top 2 percent of households, with and average of $800,000, would see additional tax cuts under the Republican plan.

… as would most income brackets. These wealthy people are already in the highest tax bracket. This misleading information only mentions the cuts and not the main part of the plan that drastically removes tax exemptions in the first place. Most Republican restructuring is designed not only to simplify taxes and reduce exemptions, but also to incite job creators. Read the bills!

9. Under the President’s plan, income tax rates for high income households would return to the same tax rates as in the ‘90s. During that period, the United States created 23 million jobs and ran a budget surplus.

Remember the 17% rule? Higher tax rates actually produce less revenue than lower rates above 17%. When Bush lowered the tax rate in 2003, the tax revenue actually increased due to greater employment and higher wages. Even Obama agreed to extend them for that reason.

It isn’t trickle down, it is flow down, and the government needs to be at the bottom of the flow, not the top. Under the Republican plan everyone’s effective tax rate would be reduced, causing greater employment thus more tax revenue. Businesses would be incented to locate and operate here in the US rather than overseas.

The government doesn’t create jobs, the people do. Even government jobs are created out of the people’s tax dollars. The government doesn’t build anything; we do, to include the government. When the government uses our money to build inefficient, ineffective, failing, or just plain fraudulent institutions, we pay the price.

For example, the 90s is when the Liberals were most influential at inflating the housing bubble by incentives to lend to those who couldn’t afford those loans and eventually penalizing lenders that did not. That escalated inflated prices that eventually had to burst.

10. The President’s plan would continue the 10 percent tax bracket, which allows everyone to pay a 10 percent tax rate on their first $8,900 in income (or $17,800 for married couples).

Notice there is no mention of a Republican plan here, because under the Republican plan, middle-income families of four pay no taxes on the first $39,000 of its income.

So the President is bragging about doing nothing? I have to admit, doing nothing has been one of his least problematic qualities.

11. The Republicans plan eliminates the American Opportunity Tax Credit, meaning 11 million families and students paying for college would see an average tax increase of $1,000 each.

Actually there is no tax increase involved. It means that the $1,000 credit for having a child in college expires December 31st 2012. Both parties have competing plans for an amended version. Reality always sounds a little different than WH talking points.

So shall we talk about unemployment? How about why businesses move jobs overseas? How about Agenda 21, (disguised as “Sustainable Development)? Can we discuss how many more doctors will be created under Obama care? How about illegal aliens; Homeland Security that considers “we the people” a greater threat than rife illegal boarder crossings? Let’s discuss why the US prosecutes innocent supporters of the GOP (i.e. Gibson guitar), while allowing anything black, or Muslim, or alien, or Occupy movements go unprosecuted, (per stated administration policy). How ‘bout that Medicare? Social Security? Where do those fit in your list to debate?

Barack Obama was right about “Hope & Change.” Never has America hoped for change more than now.

God bless America.

Pelosi reportedly called the whole idea a “fraud” and said, “There’s nothing that says that chaplains act against their faith,” and “Nobody is ordering them to do that” [facilitate homosexual weddings] and “Welcome to the world of manufactured crises. Here’s one.”

Sadly, Ms. Pelosi knows all too well the current Pentagon legal policy drafted by President Obama’s pro-homosexual bureaucrat Jeh Johnson requires that military chaplains must open their chapel buildings in all 50 states and turn over the keys to allow Christian or Catholic altars to be desecrated by homosexual ceremonies. While some chaplains can be excused from presiding at such ceremonies, all chaplains have been ordered by the policy to facilitate ‘gay’ weddings by scheduling, support, maintenance, and fully opening use of their chapels, whose altars must be re-consecrated after acts of sodomy are honored thereupon.

“We don’t hold Jewish weddings in Catholic chapels, so why force homosexual ‘weddings’ in every chapel nationwide?” asked former Navy Chaplain Gordon James Klingenschmitt, PhD. “Pelosi and Obama now violate every soldier’s right to a sacred worship space devoted to Catholic or Evangelical worship, and threaten to punish chaplains who refuse to turn over the chapel keys.” The Pentagon now openly violates the 1996 Defense of Marriage Act which legally defines marriage as only valid between one man and one woman on federal property, by treating military chapels on federal bases nationwide as if they all sit on Massachusetts land, not United States land.

Congressman Todd Akin (R-MO) and Congressman Steven Palazzo (R-MS) each introduced amendments which were approved respectively by 37 to 24 and 36 to 25 votes in the House Armed Services Committee, protecting the free speech rights of military chaplains who voice disagreement with homosexual sin, and protecting military chapels from desecration.

Pelosi and Obama oppose these amendments, which means they favor censoring or punishing chaplains’ free speech, and they favor desecrating chapels in all 50 states. But where do SASC Democrat Senators Joe Manchin (D-WV), Ben Nelson (D-NE), Jim Webb (D-VA) and Claire McCaskill (D-MO) stand, with military chaplains or with homosexual weddings?

Dr. Klingenschmitt personally visited the offices of 23 Members of the Senate Armed Services Committee (SASC) in DC this week, to plead with them to help protect and pass both good pro-chaplain amendments in H.R. 4310, the National Defense Authorization Act of 2013.

He reminded Senators he delivered 100,000 fax petitions, and will fax Congressional scorecards to nearly every pastor in their states before the next election. 2,000 chaplains from 19 faith groups have petitioned Congress to pass these two amendments. 65 evangelical chaplains are suing the Navy for anti-Christian persecution. One chaplain was relieved of his duty to manage the chapel after stating he would refuse to schedule ‘gay’ weddings in his chapel. Two chaplains resigned from the Army and Navy after the administration’s DADT repeal training manual taught they must “reconcile” with open homosexuality or quit, and over a dozen chaplains reported to their bishops of being personally pressured to censor their speech or quit the military.

On January 18, 2010 I posted an opinion piece about a new political party in Washington. It was the Say Anything Party, (SAP). Back then I included the more prominent liars in Washington DC as it members, Barack Obama being its president and CEO.

Today I am seeing that the SAPs are increasing their ranks to include those with no integrity.

The new SAPs that come to mind are Republican defectors; Karl Rove, Ricky Perry, Jon Huntsman, most of the FOX opinion hosts pretending that they believe they are journalists, and the list goes on. It includes Democrat demagogues as well the “clever” Republicans. Sadly, the SAP is growing exponentially.

The one that really floored me is Ed Rollins. There was a time when I could consider him a standup guy. Not anymore! He recently bailed out on the Bachmann campaign due to health reason; he was just getting too old for that much intensity. Yet, in the last few days he has exerted more energy than he has in years…basically trash talking whom he once claimed to support.

Americans see this day after day, week after week, and month after month. They are tired of the cheap abandonment of integrity by their elected leaders. It seems as though nobody can be relied upon to have integrity anymore.

Integrity is not simply telling the truth, or being honest. Integrity is the integration of what you think, believe, say, and do. Americans (yea, even the world) know that elected pontiffs will scatter their professed principles in the winds of popularity. We don’t like!

The Say Anything Party has devastated the landscape of opportunity for the nation by fostering a bargain basement deal for their own satisfaction. Americans hate that!

What candidate can the populace look to for integrity, one who will integrate what they say and do with who they are? There are two Mormons in the Republican race that have switched parties to the SAP status. I start with them because I, too, am Mormon. Neither has the courage to simply standup for their beliefs without vacillation.

Huntsman is particularly offensive in that he lives off his father’s empire, and yet rejects publicly that which his father has dedicated his life to. This guy won’t even explain that he and his father believe differently. He thinks he is being honest. He is not. He has no integrity because he pretends to espouse one thing and does completely different.

I noted the deceit of Ed Rollins above, for his betrayal of Michele Bachmann, whom he supported. Nothing he has said is relevant regarding her campaign or her as a person, other than that it hurts her. Destroying trust is the consummate means of rejecting integrity.

The media, particularly Fox News, has the least integrity of all influences in Washington DC. They promote themselves as providing information, when the public realizes all they are getting served propaganda. The worst offenders are Megyn Kelly and Sheppard Smith. Sadly, Bill O’Reilly has moved in that direction; there is nothing fair and balanced about his hour in your living room.

What happens from all of these houses built on sand is that they distract Americans from confidence in their government in exchange for a few minutes of personal gain.

The Say Anything Party is the consummate group of people willing to destroy America, while preaching they want to save it. Either they are liars or stupid!

Americans distrust our government, leaders, media, schools, businesses, entertainers, banks, etc. because they are begging for someone with integrity and none can be found. They are there but can’t be found because those who truly are corrupt and lack both honesty and integrity have created a pervasive level of doubt.

What has happened is we are now a nation of Philip Nolans, thanks to a generation of Benedict Arnolds.

According to the Associated press, President Obama was not very truthful in several statements during his jobs speech to both house of congress tonight. Boy, it sure didn’t take the AP long to expose the misinformation tonight as their article appeared less than a half hour after the speech ended. Where was Joe Wilson tonight, as his “You lie” statement certainly applies to the latest of Obama’s constant attempts to spread misinformation through another of his long list of speeches being used to lecture the citizenry. From the AP we see this article jump right on Obama’s jobs speech misinformation:

President Barack Obama’s promise Thursday that everything in his jobs plan will be paid for rests on highly iffy propositions. It will only be paid for if a committee he can’t control does his bidding, if Congress puts that into law and if leaders in the future – the ones who will feel the fiscal pinch of his proposals – don’t roll it back.

Considering Obama’s recent historic polling lows, coupled with the fact that Republicans control the House and the purse, to say it will be paid for is pretty moronic to say the least. Throw in the fact that Congress must get right to work on another continuing resolution to fund the government until Oct. 1st, the end of fiscal year 2011, and we see another problem in getting this done right away. Yes, it appears that we will continue to run our government without a budget for the foreseeable future.

The AP really backhands President Obama for calling a joint session of congress for this jobs speech and then using budgetary gimmickry in it:

Underscoring the gravity of the nation’s high employment rate, Obama chose a joint session of Congress, normally reserved for a state of the union speech, to lay out his proposals. But if the moment was extraordinary, the plan he presented was conventional Washington rhetoric in one respect: It employs sleight-of-hand accounting.

Once again we see a supposed economy- boosting jobs plan to be paid for by an IOU that will have to be approved by future members of Congress. Obama says he will send the proposal to the new super committee that is charged with finding budget savings. What happened to the fact that all spending bills must originate in the House of Representatives? Is this what the super committee was really created for? ( bypassing our 535 elected officials and putting our money into the hands of a select 12 people?) Not only is this jobs plan looking like just another stimulus scam for Liberal wealth redistribution like the last one, it also appears to be unconstitutional as is proven here.

The AP also exposed the blatant propaganda of when President Obama claimed that everything in his jobs plan has had bi-partisan support:

THE FACTS: Obama’s proposed cut in the Social Security payroll tax does seem likely to garner significant GOP support. But Obama proposes paying for the plan in part with tax increases that have already generated stiff Republican opposition.

As expected, Barack Obama also proposes once again to eliminate the so-called Bush tax cuts. That bird won’t fly with Republicans, as it is in fact a tax increase, and Republicans do not support raising taxes during the current recession in no way, shape or form. Obama went on to say his jobs plan will not add to the deficit. Looking back at all of Obama’s supposed economy increasing plans such as the failed stimulus plan that was also said to not increase the deficit by creating millions of jobs, we all now know what a waste of $800 billion tax dollars that scheme turned out to be. Just how did we increase the national debt by over $4 trillion dollars since Barack Obama took office with all these spending programs said to not increase the deficit? 2012 just can’t get here fast enough.

Who Is Debbie Wasserman Schultz?

Debbie Wasserman Schultz is the U.S. Representative for Florida’s 20th congressional district. Her district covers parts of Broward and Miami-Dade Counties. She is the first Jewish Congresswoman ever elected from Florida. President Barack Obama chose her as the incoming chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) because of her strength as a fundraiser and as a television messenger and for her clout in the crucial swing state of Florida.

Wasserman Schultz is one of the most fiercely partisan liberal ideologues in Congress. Now she has earned yet another not-so-meritorious distinction: hypocritical elitist. She believes that only she knows what is best for her constituents, and it’s evident that she thinks people are simply not smart enough to make their own decisions about what is in their own best interests – even when it comes to their own personal investments. During an appearance on CNN, she said that, “Investing in the stock market is a risky gamble.” But she doesn’t even listen to her own advice. In 2009, Wasserman-Schultz and her husband Paul purchased between $25,011 and $200,000 in mutual fund investments in retirement accounts. She also owns between $100,001 and $250,000 in common shares for the Community Bank of Broward, where her husband works.

Her Latest Delusion

Wasserman Schultz never deviates from her talking points and her political spin – but the truth is that her misinformation and outright falsehoods cannot withstand scrutiny. Time and again, she is tasked with deceiving the American people about the true nature of her Party’s radical agenda that continues to divide the American people.

So, with Wasserman Schultz’s partisan ideology in mind, let’s see what she says and what actual records say.

Wasserman Schultz said that the economy is “continuing on the upswing” and that every economist “worth their salt” acknowledges that this is the result of the economic stimulus signed into law by President Barack Obama in 2009. The national unemployment rate was 9.1 percent this August, unchanged from July. Real unemployment rose to 16.2 percent in August, up from 16.1 percent in July and tying the 2011 record set in June, 2011. The real unemployment rate is comprised of three different measures of the labor force that more accurately reflect who is really unemployed. The annualized growth in the real Gross Domestic Product (GDP) peaked at 3.9 percent in the first quarter of 2010. By the first two quarters of this year, it had dropped to 0.4 percent and 1.0 percent. The DNC chair argued that the stimulus worked and is responsible for an economy she described as “continuing on the upswing.”

Forecast

The Federal Reserve cut its economic growth forecast for the second time this year, reducing its estimate of 2011 GDP growth to a range of 2.7% to 2.9%, down from 3.1% to 3.3% in April,l and 3.4% to 3.9% in January. It’s also cut its 2012 forecast from this lower base, to a level showing 3.3% to 3.7% growth from the 3.5% to 4.2% growth that the Fed forecast in April.

More Wasserman Schultz Statements (Good for a laugh)

“The Republicans who think that the Recovery Act didn’t work are simply wrong,” said Wasserman Schultz. “The Recovery Act as of the beginning of this year created an additional 3.6 million jobs.” She said Republicans cannot ignore the facts of success from the stimulus. “So, every economist you would talk to that is worth their salt acknowledges that without the Recovery Act we would not be continuing on the upswing.” “We’d still be either stuck or spiraling downward. So the Republicans can’t make up their own facts. The bottom line is the Recovery Act had an impact.”

The non-partisan FactCheck.org said in an analysis in June that the stimulus failed to meet expectations. If, as Wasserman Schultz says, this economy is “continuing on the upswing,” I would really hate to see what Democrats could do to it if they tried!

But that’s just my opinion.

Today the Democratic National Committee announced its “Extreme Aims” Mediscare mistruthfest in the lead-up to Thursday’s Republican debate in Iowa and the Ames straw poll on Saturday. Calling the the 2012 Republican presidential field “extreme” and “out-of-touch” in response to public opinion that is using those very terms to describe the President’s policies.

Iowa Caucus// James Q. Lynch (“extreme” sure is prevalent – and yes, mention of Wasserman Shultz counts as an instance of “extreme”)

This week, however, the DNC will be highlighting what it calls the GOP candidates’ “extreme aims to please the far-right, Tea Party wing of their party and they are following the extreme agenda of congressional Republicans instead of leading – all while the country’s future hangs in the balance.” To counter the attention the straw poll will give the GOP 2012 hopefuls, the DNC will have a presence on the ground in Iowa beginning on Aug. 11 – the same day as the Republican Party of Iowa/Fox News debate atIowa State University – which will include DNC Communications Director Brad Woodhouse andWasserman Schultz, who will arrive Aug. 12, as well as other surrogates. In addition to her state fair visit,Wasserman Schultz will participate in a round-table discussion with Iowans the morning of Aug. 12 in Des Moines. Following her visit to the fair – where it’s rumored she will eat something on a stick – Wasserman Schultz will head to Ames to meet with national and local media.

CDNNews reponse: none needed. Shultz will eat something on a stick – Conservatives everywhere are shaking.

Dems plan weeklong blitz in Iowa to counter GOP straw poll

The Hill// Michael O’Brien

The DNC launched its weeklong blitz, “Extreme Aims: Wrong for Seniors. Wrong for the Middle Class,” with a Web video characterizing the different presidential candidates as extremists who would threaten to undo popular social programs. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.), the chairwoman of the DNC, will take that message on the road this week in Iowa ahead of Thursday’s GOP presidential debate and Saturday’s influential straw poll in Ames. Wasserman Schultz will participate in a roundtable, along with Rep. Leonard Boswell (D-Iowa), organized by the Iowa Democratic Party on Friday. (“Rumor has it she will also eat something fried on a stick,” a DNC official said about the chairwoman’s trip to Des Moines, from where she’ll head to Ames.)

Obama to reform ‘No Child’ by skirting the law – Geithner staying despite failure to protect U.S. currency

Politico// Mike Allen

“Iowa Democratic Party to Host Series of Roundtables On Disastrous GOP Agenda In Advance of GOP Debate, Straw Poll: Participants to include Rep. Leonard Boswell, DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz, local elected officials … In the lead up to the Republican debate and Straw Poll inAmes, GOP candidates are touting their support for disastrous policies like the Ryan Plan or Cut, Cap & Balance which would slash Social Security and end Medicare as we know it while protecting tax breaks for millionaires and billionaires.”

CDN response: Uh… wow. The president is directly allowing educators to not follow U.S. law simply because he doesn’t agree with it. If he wants education reform, he has to ask Congress. Those are the checks and balances in our form of government, whether he likes them or not. Tim Geithner staying after his abysmal performance as Treasury Secretary is merely indicative of another failure of leadership from the White House. It’s just too much trouble to go find someone that doesn’t have their head up their butt.

2012: Extreme Aims

NBC First Read// Staff Writers

Today, the Democratic National Committee is announcing a campaign in the build-up to Saturday’s Ames Straw Poll. “When it comes to the GOP presidential candidates and what America will hear from them in Ames this week, they have extreme aims to please the far-right, Tea Party wing of their party and they are following the extreme agenda of Congressional Republicans instead of leading,” the DNC says in an email. “All this while our country’s future hangs in the balance.” The New Hampshire Democratic Party gets into the act, too. “Whether it is the candidates’ Duck, Dodge, Dismantle proposal, the GOP budget that ends Medicare as we know it or their insistence on keeping tax cuts for corporate jet owners while shifting the burden to working families and seniors, Mitt Romney, Michele Bachmann, Jon Huntsman and Tim Pawlenty are representing an agenda that is far outside the mainstream,” NH Dem Party Chairman Ray Buckley plans to say in a memo to reporters. “Most egregiously, almost without exception the GOP presidential candidates would have allowed America to default on its obligations and send our economy into calamity rather than upset their Tea Party base.”

CDN response: Huh, NBC isn’t unbiased afterall .. who knew?

Democrats seek to counter Republicans’ Iowa blitz – and fail

LA Times// Michael A. Memoli

The Democratic National Committee produced a Web video saying the candidates running for the White House are, just like their counterparts in Congress, “offering no new ideas.” “Just like WashingtonRepublicans and the tea party, Republican presidential candidates want to end Medicare as we know it, slash funding for education and job creation [and] protect the wealthy, corporate CEOs and big oil,” an announcer says. Democratic surrogates, including the party chair, Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz ofFlorida, will be on the ground – including a speaking slot on the “soapbox” at the Iowa State Fair.

CDNews Response: Democrats haven’t produced any ideas, new or not. Senate Democrats under Harry Reid’s leadership have failed to produce a single budget in over 820 days, which includes the time period when Democrats held the House, Senate and the White House. For moderates .. that’s both houses of the legislative branch and the entirety of the executive branch. Where’s the budget Democrats?

Democrats launching Iowa campaign

CNN// Paul Steinhauser

From the first Republican presidential debate in two months, to the Iowa State Fair, to a crucial GOP presidential straw poll in Ames, the Hawkeye State will be firmly in the national political spotlight this week. Now, Democrats are trying to get in on some of the action. The Democratic National Committee announced Monday morning that it’s launching a campaign to define the Republican presidential candidates as extremists trying to please “the far-right Tea Party wing of their party and they are following the extreme agenda of Congressional Republicans instead of leading.” As part of the push, the DNC is putting up a Web video titled “Extreme Aims: Wrong for Seniors. Wrong for the Middle Class.” The party committee says to make its case it will put up a website that profiles the records of each GOP candidate. The DNC also promises an “innovative” Twitter campaign and events on the ground in Iowa throughout the week.

CDNews Response: Dems are aware that this is a primary.. right? One of the candidates will win. Ah never mind, if this is what the spendtastic liberals are spending their money on, the Senate could turn logical shortly.

DNC looks to organize in Iowa ahead of Ames Straw Poll event

Daily Caller// Amanda Carey

The Ames Straw Poll and debate is just days away, but Republican candidates aren’t the only ones who are gearing up for the event. The Democrat National Committee (DNC) is looking to sway the conversation in the Hawkeye State, too. On Monday, the DNC released a Web video titled, “Extreme Aims.” The goal, according to the release announcing the video, is to define the GOP candidates as ideologically extreme, out to undercut senior citizens and the middle class.

Jon Hunstman is so far in the back of the GOP pack that by now he must be reaching the acceptance phase of the death of his campaign. That did not stop the Democratic National Committee from attacking him and the well-thought Cut, Cap and Balance plan at the same time.

A DNC press release entitled: “Give It to Us Straight, Mr. Huntsman: Do You Support Cut, Cap and Kill Medicare?” the DNC pulls out the Mediscare ghost to go after a political also-ran. Jon Huntsman has no chance of winning the primaries, but the DNC can’t resist an opportunity to frighten the retired and baby boomers into voting against any Republican.

Maybe by attacking a no-name like Mr. Huntsman, they felt that no one would test their claim. Cut, Cap and Balance has not one .. not two, but THREE clauses that exempt Medicare from spending cuts. Of course, we hear no Republicans pushing back. Why? Democrats have successfully pushed CCB into being nothing more than background noise in the current debate and the proponents of CCB, like Jim Jordan, just don’t seem to know how to defend their own plans.
