Teach your Children well?

From a young age and throughout the years I have heard people say, “teach your children well, you don’t want to raise little monsters, do you?”

These and other comments were about molding and shaping children at an early age. The Bible says “train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it.” I guess it’s all about training our children, right? Right!

In Germany, Hitler knew this to be paramount to his success in being the “supreme ruler,” dictator, and “Grand PooBah” so much so that he dictated what would be taught in every school and changed the curriculum to reflect the superiority of the Arian race and people.

At the age of 10 they were grouped by age and taught “German Patriotism”. No big deal right? They were molded and shaped until they were 18 and then inducted into the German Army. After the age of 10 they were not allowed to engage in any outside activities aside from their “group.” They were taught good work habits and ethics, and the learning day had much to do with the great Leader known as Hitler and the Nazi party (socialist).

These kids became so loyal to Hitler and the party that they would turn in their own parents for any anti Hitler or anti-party comments. Party indoctrination was so deep that when Hitler declared the Jews were the cause of the German woes, it was not hard to get the Hitler youth to turn on them. You don’t kill that many people, the way they were killed, without brainwashing the youth. They grew into soldiers that carried out the party’s orders without question because they trusted their leader.

Now, let’s look at today. We have education being more and more dictated by liberal America. Many elementary and high school texts have rewritten history to twist the things we hold sacred into something wrong and inhumane.

Recently an elementary school district taught and tested the kids on the evil conqueror, Christopher Columbus, and the millions of Indians (yes, millions) that he and his people slaughtered. If that’s true, why do we “celebrate” Thanksgiving? (That’s just wrong on so many levels.) The curriculum went on to ask the kids what questions they would ask him at his trial.

Textbooks are being changed to down play the Judeo/Christian influence on this nation’s history. Some history books emphasize that our forefathers came her to get away from religion, rather than the actual fact that they came here to practice their own religion and worship God the way they chose.

I guess, based on these new history books, the Pilgrims must have been very confused because they had the first Thanksgiving to actually offer thanks to the Almighty (not mother earth) for all He had given them.

Jefferson must have also been very confused because he used the congressional meeting house to have Sunday service, government paid and maintained, with the Marine Band playing hymns in the government building!

Now, our elementary school kids are learning about how bad these men were because they owned slaves. They had their faults, and it’s appropriate to teach about the wrongs of slavery, but not to the exclusion of the rest of the story. How about teaching our kids about the selfless dedication they had to the freedom of the American people and that what they sacrificed was much more than a new iPod or Sunday football game?

Then there are our institutions of higher learning that seem to teach more about sexual pleasure and how to get as much from the government as possible than they teach about, science, math, and technology, as evidenced by our drop in world standing in these areas.

Numerous college campuses now have “Sex Week.” Many liberals justify this by saying it’s just “part of the college experience” and it helps the kids to blow off a little steam. I highly doubt that Albert Einstein, Marie Curie, and Jonas Salk would attribute their genius to their pursuit of sex and sexual knowledge in college! More and more colleges have what boils down to “how to have better sex” classes, complete with visual aids, presentations, and nothing left to the imagination. One college provides an introductory comic book to incoming freshmen to help them exploring their “erotic self” and even their “homosexual self.” Really? What if I have no homosexual self or can’t find it. Do I fail?

Politically, students on campuses are being encouraged to embrace communism and socialism and shun conservative values, speakers and teachers.

We are becoming the laughing stock of the world, with our failed economic policies, our mismanaged healthcare law and rollout, and our failing school systems.

Hitler’s lesson was on target. If you get the youth, you have the country. In other words, he trained the youth in the way he wanted them to go and eventually had total control.

Today the progressive left is training up the youth in the way they want to see this country grow and have they’ve been doing so for many years. Take a look around at what’s happening to in our country.
We are seeing the fruits of their efforts now. And we are in a heap of hurt as a nation and a people.

A Tale of Two Families

gavel

If ever you experience a sliver of doubt that leftism is an evil cancer that must be excised as thoroughly as possible for the very survival of our society as a whole, consider these two California families.

The Nikolayev Family

baby takenAnna Nikolayev and her husband Alex watched helplessly as police literally ripped their five month old baby from her arms.  “I’m going to grab your baby and don’t resist and don’t fight me, okay?” one of the officers told her. The reason this family was torn apart was simply because the parents decided to seek a second opinion for their son before subjecting him to open heart surgery. They were not getting adequate care or answers from the doctors, they felt, and so they decided to find better care. As it turns out, the parents were correct. The second doctor confirmed their suspicion that open heart surgery was not an appropriate course of action for this infant. Eager to defend his poor judgement, the original doctor vindictively embroiled this family in a battle for their parental rights that they must continue to fight.

The Morneo/Lobel Family

lesbian parentsPauline Morneo and Debra Lobel are the lesbian parents of eleven year old Thomas, who now goes by the name “Tammy”. When this little boy was three, the mothers taught him sign language because he had a speech impediment. According to Debra and Pauline, Thomas’ first sign told them, “I’m a girl”. Upon making the wildly irrational decision that a three year old has the capacity to determine his “gender identity”, they began raising him as a girl and have now gone so far as to put him on hormones to stop his puberty. Apparently the sign language at age three coupled with the fact that this boy seemed to prefer headbands to baseball caps was enough to prompt these women to seek out doctors willing to implant a hormone suppressant in his arm so he will not experience puberty. Child Protective Services is not involved.

Up is down. Black is white. The world makes no sense. Parents who behave as parents should, like the Nikolayevs, are punished severely, even though they were right all along. Parents who are motivated by a bizarre far leftist agenda and push their son into a lifestyle he has no true concept of and medicate him with drugs that will permanently alter his brain chemistry when he has absolutely no ability to weigh the consequences or consent to such a thing are lauded by their community as “progressive” “heroes”. Yesterday I asked the question “where are we going and why are we in this hand basket?” and indeed, we are not just slouching toward Gomorrah but happily skipping headlong toward its very heart.

We are rationalizing the irrational, punishing what should be celebrated and celebrating what should be punished. We are abandoning facts in favor of feelings. Is it any wonder our families, our children, our freedoms, and our very way of life is slipping away from us? We are facing so many challenges as a country right now, and those who expect to solve them without focusing on our huge moral crisis need a wakeup call. When we decide as a society that morality is not black and white, that the truth is subjective, that values are fluid and ever changing, we cannot expect to reap anything but the disaster we’ve sown.

The U.S. Constitution in Plain Language

Constitution650In response to the New York Times editorial “Let’s Give Up on the Constitution,” written by esteemed scholar Louis Michael Seidman, it seems like an appropriate time to revisit the U.S. Constitution.

Unfortunately, since the language of the Constitution can be technical and outdated, republishing something as brilliant as The Federalist Papers simply wouldn’t convince many people that so-called “progressives” are actually on the wrong side of history.

Most people do not understand that “progressives” are authoritarians fighting to undo the American political system, which was put into place to keep power-hungry politicians from doing whatever they want with other people’s lives.

Instead of forming another complicated defense of the law of the land, let’s put the U.S. Constitution in terms everyone can understand:

We run this country. Politicians are there to do their jobs and that’s it. Don’t start nothing, won’t be nothing. (See The Declaration of Independence.)

The House of Representatives and Senate pass the laws. This is so we don’t feel stupid for electing dictators who can do whatever they want. Putting more jerks in office makes it harder for them to work together to pass harmful laws. Since they are egomaniacs, they will fight for power and hopefully cancel each others’ idiocy out.

Not just any fool can be a Representative. Just fools of a certain age and citizenship status. Senators have to be a bit older, but certainly no wiser that Representatives.

The Congress has to actually meet once in a while. This is not a problem for career politicians. If you act like a douchebag, we can kick you out. We probably won’t, but don’t push it. No double-dipping.

Spending bills start in the House, even though some political parties act like they don’t. The House decides what stuff and how much of it the government buys. It decides what countries to invade. Don’t go trampling on people’s civil liberties. States aren’t separate countries, and shouldn’t act like them.

If you’re a thirty-five year old citizen with no real record of accomplishment, you too can be an American president! The president has to take an oath to the Constitution. Contrary to popular belief, he doesn’t get elected to rule over other Americans. He gets to make treaties and pick bureaucrats.

Every year, the president makes a nice speech to Congress. He should take care not to insult members of the other branches. Believe it or not, the president can be kicked out of office.

There’s a bunch of judges who decide tough cases called the Supreme Court. They too can be kicked out, but they can generally stay on the court as long as they want to. The Supreme Court gets to rule on certain cases of importance.

It’s possible to commit treason against one’s country, but since most of the founders of the country were called traitors, it’s almost impossible.

We have a republican form of government, not a democracy. That means we have a bunch of somewhat independent states that are supposed to work together, help each other out, and follow the rules.

Don’t like something in the Constitution? We actually have a way to change it built in! That means none of you who don’t like the Constitution gets to say, “hey, why don’t we just forget about the Constitution?” If you have a bright idea, let’s see how much the public agrees with you.

The U.S. Constitution is the supreme law of the land. It gives the government all of its legitimate powers, and also limits what the government can do to people. Politicians are nothing but citizens who are equal to other citizens and hold office only by the people’s consent. If politicians start bossing people around, and break their oaths of office, then the Constitution is nullified, and the authority of the government is voided.

In that worst case scenario, Washington politicians would be just a collection of 537 guys trying to order around more than 300 million Americans, but they would have no more legitimate authority than anyone else. “Giving up on the Constitution” means we should all forget about what Washington politicians say and why we should listen to them at all.

All of the states whose spokesmen sign this document agree to form a federal government on these conditions only. Without this binding agreement, there is no federal government.

Bonus: The Bill of Rights

1st Amendment — We can say whatever we want and believe whatever we want, and the government has no say in it.

2nd Amendment — We have the right to defend ourselves from the government and criminals using firearms.

3rd Amendment — Soldiers and policemen can’t just bust into your house like they own the joint and crash there.

4th Amendment — Police can’t just search people randomly, go through their stuff, ask for their papers, and all that business.

5th Amendment — The government can’t just take stuff or lock people up without a trial.

6th Amendment — Trials have to be speedy and fair.

7th Amendment — People have a right to be judged by other folks who can understand them.

8th Amendment — Judges can’t just straight up rip people off or do cruel and unusual stuff to them.

9th Amendment — Just because it isn’t written down here, doesn’t mean people don’t have other rights.

10th Amendment — If the Constitution doesn’t say that the government can do something, it can’t do it. The people and the states have all the powers not otherwise given to the federal government.

Do Kids Still Appreciate Gifts?

ungrateful

Ah…an unexpected consequence of social media is that now we all know, within minutes, what our teens think of anything that happens in their life. This week it was the response to their holiday gifts.

When did it change that presents offered were no longer seen as gifts but items requested and expected? When did parents stop teaching children to be grateful and allow them to instead place demands on us? Has society changed so much? Is this a generational problem or is it just that our teens now feel free to express themselves to the public in ways that might not have been acceptable in the past?

Watch this clip and let me know what you think. Call me old fashioned but if one of my kids wrote (or said) something with such a lack of appreciation those presents would find themselves back at the store and my credit card reimbursed.

PS The model above posed for this photo and has never been unappreciative of any gift…well, except for the tin of sardines that always showed up in her travel bag.

Child Tells Story Of How "Occupy" Protestors Shoved And Harassed Him

Sammy Goldenstein is a school age boy in New York City who recently had a run-in with the “Occupy” protestors.  As they tried to keep bankers from making their way to the Stock Exchange this week, they also made it difficult for children to get to their school across the street from the exchange.  Sammy tells his story of how kids were “kicked and hit”, and he also said they need to “get a job”.  Watch his story below.

What are your thoughts on this?  Have we gone too far when we target CHILDREN?  And have we really gone too far when we target children who are escorted BY POLICE?  I’m at a loss for this.  How do you hit children in front of their parents and in front of police?  …in broad day light, no less.  How crazed do you have to be to do this?

Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.  Or on Facebook.

Occupy Protestors Use Kids As Human Barricades In D.C.

I have no idea why occupy protestors have found their approval ratings dropping with mainstream Americans.  Maybe videos like this can shed light…

What do you guys think?  Is this how a “protest” should be done?  Is it ever okay to use kids as human barricades?  And how many stories like this will it take before the mainstream media ends their romance with the “Occupy” movement?  Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
