Illinois State Rep. Mike Bost goes ballistic on the Illinois House Floor, outraged that Democrats tried to sneak in an Amendment to the Concealed Carry Bill

“…your side of the aisle keeps trying to make ploys instead of dealing with the real issue. Keep playing games!”

A Democrat Replies:

“We don’t want someone like that carrying a concealed weapon.”

From Conservative Videos:

In the end, House members voted 76-31 against a proposal, pushed by Chicago-area Democrats, that would have allowed county sheriffs and other government officials to weigh in on whether a person should be allowed to have a concealed-carry permit. The “may issue” proposal, House Bill 831, was modeled after a highly restrictive New York gun law.

Oh, the tolerance that oozes from the hypocritical leftists!

Chicago Teachers Union President Karen Lewis giving the keynote speech at the Illinois Labor History Society’s 2012 Union Hall of Honor, where she talks about the 19th Century Union leaders being “ready to kill” those who opposed the unions in that day. When someone claps, she seems to get a bit nervous, saying that she doesn’t think we are at that point today, “but the key is that they think nothing about killing us.”

**UPDATE**

The results for Tuesday night’s primary are in, and as you can see by this screenshot (of the same ABC website mentioned above), the final tally did not match the premature results which were posted on Monday night.

Several people have said that the premature results were most likely posted as a “test”, but it still seems odd that they would go live on the ABC affiliate’s official website.

The college football bowl season has been a long-standing mainstay of American tradition where even the most casual of sports fans gather around their TV sets over the holidays to enjoy the best college football teams from across the country engaging in exciting, highly competitive gridiron battles. Historically, the best teams in the nation are rewarded with big cash bonuses and national recognition by being selected to play in a nationally televised college football bowl game. Success was well-rewarded, resulting in fierce competition all season long just to “qualify” to play in a holiday bowl game. Sadly, in today’s molly-coddling, politically correct, competition-stifling American society, the college bowl games are now evolving into an “everyone gets a trophy and a bowl game, regardless of how poorly they performed on the field all year long” nanny-state debacle. Don’t believe it?

Introducing this year’s Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl. The venue? San Francisco, the heart of the Liberal La-La land, that brought us such things as a ban on McDonald’s Happy Meals, was voted the Most Liberal County in the U.S.A , placed bans on plastic grocery bags, and gave us the biggest debt-spending Speaker of the House in U.S. history, one Nancy Pelosi ( L- La-La-Land). The oh-so-successful college teams that “earned” a slot in this year’s Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl? Illinois, with a stellar record of 6-6, and UCLA with an awe-inspiring record of.. 6-7. Meanwhile teams such as WKU (Western Kentucky University) with a winning 7-5 record were left out of the bowl season, as is written here. WKU is a small school that has been the fastest growing college in Kentucky for 13 years running, located in Bowling Green Kentucky with 21,000 students enrolled.

Both Illinois and UCLA also played in the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl game this year with interim coaches, as both team’s coaches were fired at the end of this season for their teams non-performance. Illinois won the game by a score of 20-14. The Chicago Tribune summed up the Illinois football season that was rewarded with a bowl bid as follows:

Since early October, Illinois has done little else but suffer on the field and endure off-field distractions. From a fired coach to a player’s gunshot wound to a six-game losing streak to assistant coaches threatening mutiny, there had been few reasons to talk about the Illini other than their season collapse and sequence of bizarre events.

And then the LA Times shows us how UCLA was not even 2011 bowl-eligible, but received an Obama-healthcare-style waiver from the NCAA:

The 49-31 loss to Oregon in the Pac-12 title game would have cost UCLA its bowl eligibility had the Bruins not already received a waiver from the NCAA.

And then the LA Times also shows us just how historic this years UCLA Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl team truly is:” UCLA, which lost its last two games, to USC and Oregon, by a combined score of 99-31, will attempt to avoid becoming the first bowl team to finish the season with eight losses.”

Yes UCLA lost the bowl game and made history today by becoming the first bowl team in American history to finish the season with eight straight losses. So much for the college sports academics and media misfits that champion the falsehood that politics do not play a big part of college sports today. The wonderful longstanding American tradition of holiday college football bowl games has now been polluted by the “everyone gets a trophy” competition-stifling Liberal ideology, along with nanny-state wealth redistributive politics. These two schools didn’t deserve to play in a nationally televised bowl game, but it did generate a much-needed $120 million dollars in revenue for San Francisco.

Both Illinois and UCLA just happen to be located in dominantly Liberal, in-the red-budget, illegal sanctuary city promoting states. The Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl was previously known as the Emerald Bowl, but changed the name to the Fight Hunger Bowl last year. Have they cured world hunger yet? Not hardly, but these liberal losing-record college football teams and their perspective states are sure raking in the big bucks by promoting this farce of a bowl game. What’s next? 1-10 Berkeley vs the 0-11 University of Chicago in the 2012 Kraft Fight Hunger bowl? The only question left to be asked, is how many tax dollars were funneled to San Francisco and Illinois for “participating in this bowl game, as is the proven pattern behind these types of innocent sounding fight world hunger and save the planet Liberal schemes.

SPRINGFIELD, Ill., Nov. 29, 2011 – Today’s Senate vote approving SB 678 promises to leave Illinoisans paying at least $286 million in annual costs for the next 30 years to pay for the Taylorville Energy Center, a power plant that Illinois doesn’t need. If passed by the House and signed by the Governor, this tremendous cost would devastate Illinois’ economy, destroying jobs and sending businesses elsewhere.

Kevin Wright, former Illinois Commerce Commissioner and President of the Illinois Competitive Energy Association, cited the costs that Tenaska, an out-of-state energy company, would pass on to Illinoisconsumers to build the Taylorville Energy Center.

“According to Tenaska’s own report, this project would cost Illinois electricity customers at least $286 million per year, and after today’s vote, Tenaska is one step closer to getting their way,” said Wright. “When this issue comes up next year, I hope the House will do what the Senate wouldn’t and stick up forIllinois consumers by rejecting this bill.”

In addition to the cost alone, this legislation would lock Illinois businesses, families, and government agencies into a 30-year contract, undermining Illinois’ competitive energy market and damaging our economy.

“This bill forces Illinois businesses to subsidize an out-of-state company and leaves them exposed to a huge cost burden in the event of budget overruns, which are almost inevitable,” said David Vite, President of the Illinois Retail Merchants Association. “It will make it harder for our businesses to keep and create jobs and signal ‘Look elsewhere’ to businesses outside our state looking to expand or relocate.”

Three times previously, the General Assembly voted against the Taylorville Energy Center, amending and adding to the legislation to win votes. Greg Baise, President and CEO of the Illinois Manufacturers’ Association, discussed the legislation and called on the House to reject SB 678 next year.

“This is a massive electric rate hike on Illinois residents and businesses during the worst economic time in our generation,” said Baise. Members of the STOP Coalition are urging the House to stand up for Illinoisconsumers and reject this legislation next year.

California, New York and Illinois Ranked as Worst for Business

NEW YORK, Sept. 19, 2011 /PRNewswire/ – Texas, North Carolina and South Carolina are viewed as having the best business climates among the 50 states, according to a new survey of U.S. corporate executives released here today.

The poll pinpointed California, New York and Illinois as the U.S. states with the least favorable business climates.

Conducted by Development Counsellors International (DCI) every three years, the “Winning Strategies in Economic Development Marketing” survey has tracked trends in economic development since its inception in 1996.

“With the battle for business more intense than ever, states and their economic development organizations need to pay close attention to the results of this survey,” said DCI President Andrew T. Levine. “Whether accurate or misguided, perceptions about a location’s business climate often play a crucial role in site selection decisions and where companies invest money and create jobs.”

Nearly half (46%) of the 322 corporate executive who responded to the survey indicated that their firm would make a location decision in the next 24 months – whether a move, expansion or consolidation of a manufacturing plant, offices, distribution center or other facilities. More than half (51%) said that they would outsource a portion of the site selection process to a real estate broker or site selection consultant.

Texas was the clear-cut favorite among the respondents to the survey, with 49.4% naming the Lone Starstate as having one of the most favorable business climates in the nation. North Carolina ranked second with 27.8%; South Carolina has 14.3% of the votes. Texas and North Carolina have consistently landed in the top spots since the survey began more than a decade ago. Texas has held the #1 ranking since 1999, while North Carolina has been #2 since 2002. South Carolina, Tennessee and Florida have frequently traded top positions in the survey and 2011 marks the return of South Carolina to the #3 slot.

When asked why they selected the states they did as being best for business, the corporate executives frequently cited low operating costs and a pro-business climate. In the 2008 survey, more executives pointed to the availability of a strong workforce than they did in 2011.

For the fourth consecutive time, California was deemed as having the least favorable business climate, with 70.5% of the responses. New York was named second most frequently with 46.5%, followed byIllinois (24.4%) Taxes, high costs and “anti-business climate/regulation” spurred most of the negative opinions.

The comprehensive survey also asked a series of questions to divine the most effective economic development marketing tools, the leading sources of information that influence executive perceptions of a community’s business climate and the most important factors in business location decisions.

DCI conducted the survey online, polling a random selection of C-level executives at U.S. companies with annual revenues of $25 million or more. The survey was augmented by 250 location advisors/consultants.

Dear Senator Durbin:

I’m weird like that… I have this notion that when the American People elect one of their own – citizen – to be represented in Congress, this position elevates said citizen to a higher standard.

So in my simplistic way of thinking, it goes like this: When you reach the level of US Senator, it warrants a certain decorum that should prevent you, or any of your Democrat colleagues, from referring to law abiding citizens in any pejorative terms. The fact that you may have been elected from a Blue state does not preclude some of YOUR constituents from being Tea Party members, or God forbid Republicans.

While Republican voters from Illinois may not have voted for you, or agree with your policies, you have a duty to represent ALL of your constituents to the best of your abilities, once the votes have been counted.

You should not label Citizens of any political affiliations as ‘extremists’, ‘radicals’ or ‘terrorists’; and what’s more, you should fiercely defend this philosophy! It’s the honorable thing to do!

I, and many US Constituents in America take personal offense that your Party stubbornly refuses to call Fort Hood Murderer Nidal Hassan a Muslim Terrorist, when clearly, there are 14 innocents victims on his hands!.

The U. S Congress or Political Campaign material should never be the forum or vehicle to disparage Americans. On behalf of millions of Americans it would be my desire that the 2011 Congressional Record reflect a commitment to strike all disparaging references to Tea Party and Republican Americans; we are all Americans!

Your Party, which promises Fundamental Transformation, is fracturing the psyche of this country with its vitriolic language designed to sip into the subconscious of the Nation. All the money in the World cannot heal a broken spirit.

I will make sure to notify your office, in my household we are Proud legal, law abiding US Citizens, registered GOP voting Tea Party, neither extremist nor radical.

I don’t expect a response; but I feel much better for putting pen to paper; IT HAD TO BE SAID!

Respectfully- An American Citizen.

It appears as though former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich may have just had the realization that he is not just waking up from a very bad dream! In fact, he seems to be having to face the fact that his life has become a nightmare.

From the beginning of this Chicago-style drama Blago has said the truth has come out. Indeed it has!

Before entering the courtroom to hear the verdict in his retrial, Mr. Blagojevich said:

“My hands are shaking, my knees are weak, I can barely stand on my own two feet,” Blagojevich said as he left his house. “It’s in God’s hands, now.”

The former governor was found guilty on 17 of 20 charges in his corruption retrial.

It’s interesting that now Blago seems to trust that God will save him from the consequences of his actions. With the mountains of recorded evidence against him, you would think he would realize that it has all caught up to him. However, that does not seem to be the case. It appears that Mr. Blagojevic was legitimately amazed that he would be found guilty.

Upon hearing that he was found guilty, he turned in bewilderment to his attorney and asked, “What happened?’

Well, Blago, that’s what we here in America call Justice! It suits you well!

Now if that same justice could be served to all politicians who have done the same thing! The reality is it is most all of them in one way or another. Blago’s downfall is those recording! He got caught! He just didn’t expect that the jurors would look past his exceptionally coiffed locks and see to the heart of the matter. He broke the law. Now he must pay the price.

It’s a good day in America!

Governor Pat Quinn, of Illinois recently signed into law the abolishment of the death penalty, and he also commuted all death row inmates sentences to life without parole. When the abolition law takes effect July 1, Illinois becomes the 16th state without a death penalty. This issue can be very dangerous politically, as it has both fierce support and opposition in almost all walks of life. Why is it that some people can be against abortion, yet have spoken up in support of the death penalty, or vice versa? The answer to that question lies within the auspices of perception management, propaganda campaigns, and the usage of *nudging* society to believe right is wrong or lies to be the truth.

Take for instance the hard core religious voters. While the bible says an eye for an eye, which should be quite self-explanatory, many Christians feel the death penalty is somehow inhumane or unfair. You know, turn the other cheek and all that kind of stuff, and forgive those who sin against us. Yet many people who have been victimized by the crazed murderers, rapists, and violent criminals of society, who have had their family crushed by the grief caused by these madmen, feel they are unworthy of living in a country where the rest of the citizens have to live by the rule of law and are held accountable for their actions. They then want them executed. The death penalty is the greatest deterrent we have in controlling the career criminals and murderers that prey on the decent people of our country. They tend think twice of killing someone in cold blood, knowing that they themselves will be killed in return for the malicious actions. That is just a common sense fact of life, and it the main reason the death penalty was created in the first place.

The main problem in the death penalty debate seems to be indicative of the problems plaguing our country today, which stems from false perceptions being promoting by self-serving small groups representing a minority of people or instances that occurr in society. A great example of this can be seen in the case of the environmental activists, (whom are mostly supported and funded by the Leftists in America today), and how they are stopping us from using our own oil, while at the same time promoting green energy that is decades from becoming viable. Gasoline is now $4.00 a gallon in many States today and is expected to go much higher this summer, while billions of barrels of oil sit in South Dakota and Alaska untapped. This is directly due to the usage of false propaganda and data manipulation to create a false perception that we will all burn up tomorrow if we don’t stop using oil, the greatest energy resource on earth. These people have proven to have manipulated data and flat out lied to advance their socialist agenda, yet this minority of green freaks, backed by leftist progressives, has been allowed to cripple our own natural resources usage. Then they have the audacity to holdup signs demanding that we decrease our dependence on Foreign oil through green scams like the now known to be very problematic, Chevy Volt. Noone ever talks about the oil burning electricity it takes to charge those cars. That is just plain ludicrous.

This same method of creating false perceptions has now created another travesty within the death penalty debate, yet it is one that these States that are abolishing the death penalty refuse to acknowledge. That being the huge expense of housing, feeding, medical care and securing mass murderers and the worst criminals of society for decades. In doing my research for this article, I got to thinking about just who would be behind this push to abolish the death penalty. Meet the NCADP*, or the National Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty.*

Here is just 3 of the 10 false perception propaganda lies they promote on their own homepage*:

     1. Executions are carried out at staggering cost to taxpayers. Here they want you to believe that the cost of a lethal injection, costs you more than housing, feeding, and securing these criminals for 20,30,40, and even 50 years! . They are creating a false perception that simply is not true.

    2. Capital punishment does not deter crime. Here they use an unnamed scientific study to try to make you believe that the death penalty does not deter serious, violent criminal activity. It is human nature and instinct to want to live as long as possible. When a criminal steps into the world of possibly murdering someone, I do not believe for one minute that the majority of them don’t think about receiving the death penalty when they get caught. They also do not take into account the people who commit crimes that could result in the death penalty that actually have their own perverted death wish. For one reason or the other they don’t want to live any more, therefore they want the death penalty. So the death penalty does deter crime. They are creating a false perception that simply is not true.

   4. Race plays a role in determining who lives and who dies. Since 1977, blacks and whites have been the victims of murders in almost equal numbers, yet 80% of the people executed in that period were convicted of murders involving white victims: Here we have the ever-popular leftist tactic of playing the race card. The NCADP doesn’t think you are smart enough to know that when the U. S. population has been predominantly white for decades, more whites will be the victims of murder. The reason that these numbers are proven to be wrong is in another fact that they fail to produce. At one point in recent history, when blacks compromised 17% of our population, they were responsible for over 70% of the violent crimes in America. Things such as black on black crime statistics have fluctuated immensely, depending on who you believe today also. Since the NCADP wants to inject the race card into the death penaly debate, I shall help them out with some statistics from the Justice Department in 1995 from ourcivilizaion.com**:

Almost 1 million white Americans were murdered, robbed, assaulted or raped by black Americans in 1992, compared with about 132,000 blacks who were murdered, robbed, assaulted or raped by whites, according to the same survey.

Blacks thus committed 7.5 times more violent inter-racial crimes than whites even though the black population is only one-seventh the size of the white population. When these figures are adjusted on a per capita basis, they reveal an extraordinary disparity: blacks are committing more than 50 times the number of violent racial crimes of whites.

According to the latest annual report on murder by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, most inter-racial murders involve black assailants and white victims, with blacks murdering whites at 18 times the rate that whites murder blacks.

With statistics like those above, we see just how far the NCADP goes in creating a false perception that simply is not true. The fact is, that the death penalty is an important tool in deterring violent crime and murder in the United States today, and has been since it’s inception. It also helps prevent prison overcrowding and the very expensive burden of keeping these criminals from further harming society. It is also a form of closure for the many families that have been destroyed by the murder of a loved one, parent, or main breadwinner. The bottom line here, is that we see once again how data and information are being distorted to push a group’s agenda through the blatant use of propaganda. The two men I consider to be the godfather’s of propaganda usage in America, Saul Alinsky and Edward Bernays would be quite proud of the NCADP’s usage of propaganda campaigns to abolish the death penalty in America today. As we see noted above, it has already been abolished in 16 states or almost 1/3 of the total states in America.

Update for those who may doubt the progressive mindset and patterns of propaganda inherent in the NCADP, here is an interesting fact: NCADP is grateful for the support of Working Assets/CREDO as a 2009 grant recipient. Click here to learn more about Working Assets/CREDO and become a customer. Help us become a 2010 grant recipient by nominating us here.

Yes your tax dollars are being funneled to support another progressive propaganda group here. Just who are the Working Assets*** clan? Well this statement is from from their own homepage: “A legacy of progress: Since 1985, our members have raised over $65 million for progressive nonprofits.” As they say if you dig deep enough into progressive so-called non-profit propaganda arms today, you will see your taxpayer dollars being used to further their Socialist agenda.

In the 2010 election, Illinois voters chose to keep a Democrat controlled State House and Senate, although by a slimmer margin than in years past. How unfortunate for workers in the land of Lincoln.

As The New York Times reported, State legislators pushed through and passed a massive 66% tax increase in the hours before the new State Congress took over.

Even grudging supporters of the tax increase, which won no Republican support in a state capital controlled by Democrats, voiced a desperate sense of regret over the circumstances in which Illinois finds itself. State Representative Elaine Nekritz, a Democrat who voted for the increase, described her decision as an alternative “between bad and worse.” Another Democrat cautioned his colleagues: “We don’t have a better choice today.”

It appears as though spending cuts were not an option the liberal body wanted to consider. Instead, Illinoisans will be asked to give more of their paychecks to the spend-easy State government. Governor Quinn, also a Democrat, appears ready to sign the tax increase the moment it hits his desk.

Gov. Patrick J. Quinn, a Democrat whose signature would be needed to make any rate increase final, has indicated in the past he believes a tax increase is necessary.

The increases are on both the personal and corporate rates. This will leave consumers with less money to spend and businesses with fewer reasons to stay in or relocate to Illinois.
