The American Jobs Act and The Games Harry Plays

President Obama wants his jobs bill passed. Does everyone understand that now?  For those of you living in a cave in Iraq without wi-fi, there is a supposed jobs bill here in America, and President Obama wants it passed right now, today, no questions asked! Obama wants you to know that if Congress does not pass his jobs bill, he will be on TV, on a bus tour across America and in the news every single day until… the 2012 elections continuing his very unpresidential  "Pass My Jobs Bill" temper tantrum. That is what he promised/threatened to do in his 112 minute speech to the nation yesterday. That, and blame Republicans again. Is the President of the United States so out of touch with the voting public that he thinks this type of childish tantrum on national TV will magically persuade the 54% of people who now disapprove of Barack Obama to vote for "four more years?"

The first hurdle towards passing Obama’s jobs bill reared it’s ugly head in the Unites States Senate on Wednesday. This was seen in the example of an epic battle between Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (L-D) and Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R).  Harry did not have the votes needed to pass the jobs bill due to bi-partisan opposition and Mitch wanted a vote on it right then and there on Weds. In this battle of Senate titans, which was televised in it’s entirety on Cspan, ( yes we watch Cspan now and then) we saw Harry capitulate, grovel and complain, while yet not really explaining why he refused to give Obama his much-demanded vote on the jobs bill. Mitch held his ground and said " Let’s give the President the vote he wants here today." Back and forth, over and over, both aging fighters were hitting each other with the all-to-common politically correct verbal feather punches and counter-hugs, punches. Neither man would back down and this battle looked to end in a stalemate by Weds. evening. On Thursday, President Obama went on another 112 minute rant to the nation stating that they had better pass his jobs bill or the people would "run them out of town." ( referring to Republicans only , because Democrats had nothing to do with the 6 trillion dollars of debt they have slapped onto the backs of our children, according to Obama) By this time the nation was being exposed to Harry’s games in the Senate by citizen journalists, political activists, and grassroots Tea Party groups across America. Immense pressure was being put on poor old Harry Reid, and he seemed to crack near the end of Obama’s speech, as Fox news announced that Harry Reid would indeed allow the Senate to hold a vote on Obama’s jobs bill later on that day. ( Thursday)  Apparently, this was just another of Harry Reid’s  irresponsible games being played once again, because as of right now, it looks like the vote was not held. We all know how  by now Harry’s past games have been played. Remember when he was caught bribing Senators Ben Nelson (D-NE) and Mary Landrieu (D-LA) during the health-care debate? That resulted in what are known as the Corn-husker kick-back and the new Louisiana Purchase in which your own tax dollars were used to buy their votes for Obama-care. Harry Reid has been playing these types of games for decades up there in the U.S. Senate. (at taxpayers expense) When harry announced that they would vote on the jobs bill yesterday, he must have had some more kick-back schemes lined up, in which he thought he could buy the votes needed to pass the jobs bill. The vote did not happen last night as had been announced. While the reasons for it  not happening are not yet clear, it now looks like Harry Reid is losing at his own game.

Why is there bi-partisan opposition to Obama’s jobs bill ?

Maybe it is the fact that the jobs bill really isn’t a jobs bill after all, upon closer inspection? What if it is proven that Barack Obama is fighting not for jobs for ordinary citizens, but is, in fact simply begging for another half a trillion taxpayer dollars to pay back his vote-buying Union bed-pals, assorted crony-capitalists such as G.E., and  strengthen his campaign coffers just like he did with the 826-billion-dollar-taxpayer-fraud now know as the fake stimulus package ?  That debacle did not stop us from  the current 9.1% unemployment rate we have which is crushing the middle class of America. The bullet points in Obama’s latest Stimulus Package-light  run right along with the same lines as the lies that were told during the last stimulus package propaganda tour, except that this time we are being promised that. "The U/E rate will drop a couple of points," instead of the fallacy of 8% that Obama told us the last time we saw this scheme to defraud the American taxpayer. When researching The American Jobs Act in a browser, the first 15-20 pages are all from teachers unions and assorted Obama political operatives that are nothing more than parroting Obama’s misleading talking points verbatim. As Obama’s lifelong pal, Weather-underground terrorist and Chi-town community organizer Bill Ayer’s always says, " Tell a lie long enough, and the uninformed masses will eventually believe it." How many times have we seen Barack Obama on TV, on the radio, in the faux news fluff pieces, and flying around the country in perpetual campaign mode demanding that Congress pass his jobs bill now and put " Americans back to work" recently? .Too many to count. Tell the lies loud enough and long enough and the sheep will eventually believe it. That is why Barack Obama is spending millions of taxpayer dollars and wasting valuable time demanding his jobs bill be passed, time that could be better spent governing and leading this country, instead of  preaching about this Stimulus-light.

If Obama”s jobs bill was designed to actually help Americans get back to work, then the bill would simply sell itself to Congress.  That did not happen.

In an article from nationalreview.com, we see just why Obama’s jobs bill seems to be stuck in the mud in Congress and doomed to sink:

Transportation funding: The bill sets aside $50 billion for transportation projects, mostly in the form of grants and guaranteed loans, including $27 billion for “immediate transportation infrastructure investments” on highway and rail projects, including:

  • $4 billion in grants for “high-speed rail projects,” at least 85 percent of which must be spent on “the development of entire segments or phases of intercity or high-speed rail corridors.”

  • $2 billion (on top of that $4 billion) for Amtrak.

  • $2 billion for “airport improvement.”

  • $105 million for “the Puerto Rico highway program.”

The Transportation department, run by Ray LaHood has seen huge increases in taxpayer funding since Obama took office, yet we still stare 9.1% long-term unemployment in the face today. Remember the "shovel-ready jobs" promise during the original stimulus rip-off ? A huge part of as to why all of the transportation/infrastructure spending of Stimulus 1 failed was because that  Unions now get all federal construction contracts over $25 million dollars. No bids are allowed by private companies unless they are Unionized, no getting the best price for the taxpayer-funded projects, thus shutting out small companies that are not politically connected and Unionized. Federal transportation spending under Barack Obama has already increased by a whopping 549% !    In 2008 we spent $10.7B and in the last two years under Obama we have spent..$58.7 billion dollars in transportation and infrastructure funding, yet  we have seen very little improvement in our infrastructure, as Obama himself stated in his last speech. Why is that? If we add the 50 billion dollar increase in transportation spending that is asked for in the jobs bill, transportation spending will have increased by 1016% since 2008 levels. No that is not a typo, it is actually a 1016% increase in transportation spending. If we cut Obama’s Union bed-pals out of the picture and actually put these contracts up for fair bids, we just might see some actual improvement, instead of just a bunch of government signs stating how great the stimulus scheme was doing for us all.

Just like when Congress illegally created the FFB Congressional loan sharking bank for themselves back in 1973, Obama’s jobs bill also creates another "bank."

Infrastructure bank: The AJA establishes the “American Infrastructure Financing Authority” (a.k.a. the infrastructure bank) as a “wholly owned government corporation.” The purpose of this new “government corporation,” is according to the bill, “to facilitate investment in, and long-term financing of, economically viable infrastructure projects of regional or national significance.

Who decides which projects are “economically viable” and “of regional or national significance”? A board of unelected bureaucrats, that’s who. AIFA’s board of directors will consist of 7 members, each appointed by the president, “not more than 4 of which” can be from the same political party. They will preside over an annual fund of $10 billion that is set to grow to $20 billion after two years, before settling at $50 billion (annually) after 10 years. By 2014, AIFA’s “administrative costs” alone will reach up to $50 million per year. A few other notable provisions of the infrastructure bank:

It Creates a “Center for Excellence to provide technical assistance to public sector borrowers.”Contains a provision prioritizing “geographic diversity” in the selection of projects for funding. Nothing to see there folks, just move along.

Additionally, there is billions of dollars in Green Energy Solyndra-style fraud and taxpayer abuse embedded into the jobs bill that is sure to enrage many Americans upon discovery. We also have President Obama once again saying this jobs is completely paid for and will not increase our national debt. What the people need to be told is the fact that this fake jobs bill which is really just another stimulus fraud, will in fact be paid for by massive tax increases. Add  to that the so-called millionaires surtax of an additional 5.6% that was slipped into the Senate jobs bill yesterday, on Obama’s orders and we see the fact that Obama is indeed breaking numerous additional stated promises about "not raising taxes during the current recession." Another aspect of this farce of a jobs bill comes out into the sunlight when we research The American Jobs Act on the internet. As stated above the first 15-20 pages are mainly from teachers unions saying how wonderful it is that Barack will be putting them "back to work" with his jobs bill. In keeping things real, I just went down to do a simple poll at the local bus stop. There were 18 kids there this morning waiting for the school bus, ranging from 10 yrs old to 18. I asked a simple question: "Have any of you been sitting in a classroom where there was no teacher present at any point during this school year ? " Of course that has never happened they all stated. "How could we be out here going to school if there were no teachers in class? ",  a 10 year old asked me. My point exactly. So much for "Putting the valuable teachers back to work with his jobs bill" propaganda Obama spewed yesterday. When the teacher’s Unions explode the number of teachers to an unmanageable level, the first to go during common sense budget cuts are the ones whom are essentially worthless or were not needed to begin with. That is just a plain hard fact of life that even a 10 year old can understand.

Senate Majority obstructionist and denier of reality, Harry Reid  is simply playing a game he cannot win when it comes to passing Obama’s fake jobs bill. Realistic Senate Democrats  up for reelection in 2012, will note vote for this bill simply because they couldn’t ram it though quickly enough, as was Barack Obama’s plan. The people are wise to this Stimulus-light  jobs bill fraud, and are getting wiser by the minute, much to Harry’s dismay. The more we look into this jobs bill, the more we see that it is not an actual jobs bill that was designed to help the working class people of America. House Speaker Boehner is very aware of that fact, and poses yet another problem for Harry Reid in getting Obama’s jobs bill passed. Good luck Harry. 2012 just can’t get here fast enough.

UPDATE:  This just in:  Reid triggers ‘nuclear option’ to change Senate rules, end repeat filibusters.  As I stated earlier in this article, Harry Reid has been playing the nasty game of partisan, totalarianist  politics for a long time now. Hold your ground Mr. McConnell.

White House adviser: Obama and Senate powerless against TEA Partiers .. or something

The White House is now admitting that it is powerless against the TEA party freshmen in the House of Representatives. David Plouffe, a senior Obama adviser said “We’re not going to make progress on the deficit, on things we can do right now for jobs, on tax cuts, unless those 30 or 40 Tea Party members of the Republican House stop being the focal point of our discussion”.

So unless the Conservative freshmen quit leading, the Obama administration and Democrat Senate can’t get anything done. Controlling half of Congress and the White House isn’t enough, without a mandate – Obama is impotent.

By Plouffe’s admission, the White House is now realizing what almost 200 million Americans already know – Obama is unable to lead and Harry Reid is nothing more than a do-nothing obstructionist. Now, they are trying to spin the news as some in Congress are stepping-up to fill the void left by an ineffective President and Senate. Elections do have consequences Mr. Plouffe.

This  “blame the TEA partiers” kerfluffle is over the latest in an almost three year string of continuing resolutions (CR) being used to fund the government until the Democrat-led Senate passes a budget – if Harry Reid’s band of do-nothings ever passes a budget.

At just over a trillion dollars, this CR left the House with $3.7 Billion to fund FEMA for disasters which was offset by $200 million in cuts to alternative energy subsidies – one of Obama’s so-called loopholes.

Plouffe also used the “stop playing politics” line now becoming tired rhetoric from the current administration. He said that the House version of the bill would cost jobs. How? By cutting the gifts to green energy companies?  Solyndra anyone?

While Plouffe and Reid are complaining that the TEA partiers are holding the government hostage, so far the House freshmen are the only ones driving responsible funding bills. The GOP-led House is the only body to pass a budget.

After the bill was voted down in the Senate, leader Harry Reid offered a substitute that re-instated the tax payer subsidies and grants to alternative energy companies. While a procedural vote is scheduled for Monday, the bill is expected to suffer a quick death as it does not offer any offsets to the increased spending that it requires.

Whining seems to be the modus operandii of the Obama administration lately:

  • Complaining that the top 1% don’t pay enough in taxes (they pay 38% of all income taxes)
  • Whining to the Congressional Black Caucus that they are whining (this is probably accurate)
  • Complaining that Conservatives are getting too much attention (more than twice the number of Americans identify as Conservative vs. Liberal Mr. President)
  • Crying that the TEA Party freshmen won’t let him spend as much as he wants (elections have consequences)

The President may want to listen to his own speeches. In his most recent address to the Congressional Black Caucus he told them to “quit complaining, quit crying..” – it is often best to take your own advice if you want others to follow Mr. President.

Progressive U.S. Senate Piles on the Debt with 2012 FEMA Bill.

Pretty much everyone in the country wants to fund FEMA ( Federal Emergency Management Agency) to ensure the money is there to help the areas of America that need to recover from the numerous natural disasters of late. Hurricanes, tornadoes, and the subsequent flooding from them have left many towns ravaged and they are in need of federal dollars to help rebuild and repair. Those facts are non-debatable. What is debatable is how this help is to be paid for during the current recession, and that discussion is getting flat out ugly as partisan politics took center stage this week in the U.S Senate. Progressives, led by fake Democrat Harry Reid simply want to pile another $7 billion dollars onto the federal debt chart, while some Republicans have called for responsible cutting in spending to pay for the FEMA funding bill, instead of just borrowing more money from China and other countries. This reminds me of seeing ex-Speaker, Liberal Nancy Pelosi bragging on national TV about the Democrat’s supposed “Pay-Go” policy where they promised to pay as you go when spending the taxpayer’s dollars.

If they have been paying as they were going for the past 5 years of what amounts to Liberal rule in Congress since 2007, then explain to me just how has our national debt skyrocketed by some $7 trillion dollars since then? In an article from 2010, which does not include the massive debt of 2011 under Obama and the Liberals, we see this headline:
Debt Has Increased $5 Trillion Since Speaker Pelosi Vowed, ‘No New Deficit Spending’  To quote the San Fran Nanny Queen:

“After years of historic deficits, this 110th Congress will commit itself to a higher standard: Pay as you go, no new deficit spending,” Pelosi said in her speech from the speaker’s podium. “Our new America will provide unlimited opportunity for future generations, not burden them with mountains of debt.”

We are constantly barraged with fake Democrats spewing false rhetoric such as above, while in fact being proven to have done just the opposite. Are Americans ignorant enough to actually believe this propaganda? Apparently so, as I witnessed a recent poll that basically said some 59% of Americans now believe that our massive debt explosion was the result of Republican spending. Since Barack Obama has been running our country for almost 3 years now, with fake Democrats given complete control of Congress in the 2006 elections, and while Harry Reid still controls the U.S. Senate today, how can anyone be naive enough to think it’s the Republicans fault for all that debt? As they say in the Liberal propagandists handbook, tell a lie enough times and some people will believe it as the truth. So how is Nancy Pelosi’s lie about Pay-GO working out today the Democratically controlled U.S. Senate? While many Republicans introduced legislation to actually use the Democrat’s vaunted “Pay-Go” to find ways to pay for the FEMA funding bill, Liberal Harry Reid and some progressive RINO-Republicans voted to just put the FEMA bill on the national debt card once again! This Senate bill appears to be some kind of ploy to force the U.S. House of Representatives to go along with the progressive debt-spending of the U.S. Senate. Again, must I remind people that under the U.S Constitution, all spending bills must originate in the House? They are using this fake FEMA bill to try to bully the U.S. House of Representatives, period.  In an article from FoxNews.com, we see Senator Tom Coburn calling out the progressive hypocrites from both parties, on this proposed new debt spending for FEMA:

With the nation running a $14.7 trillion debt, Republican Senator Tom Coburn of Oklahoma led the charge to fully pay for the $6.9 billion Senate bill, a fairly unprecedented move.
“We’re almost schizophrenic. We say we need to cut spending, but we say we don’t want to find $7 billion to pay for it. We just want to borrow it,” Coburn accused. And though he has, himself, voted in the past for disaster funding with no offsets, the senator said Thursday, “We’re in a new day. We’re in a new world. (emphasis mine)

FoxNews themselves are also seen right there pushing the progressive debt-spending agenda in the last sentence of that quote. Although Coburn has voted for spending without off-sets before, Fox seems to ignore the mandate of the 2010 elections where the people said they are very concerned about our massive debt-burden and voted against the progressive agenda of more debt-spending, especially during the current stagnant economy. FEMA spending bills during times of vibrant economies and federal revenue increases has absolutely nothing to do with the urgency to get spending under control of today. Has Fox forgotten that our credit rating has been downgraded under the weight on Obama’s progressive spending for the first time in history this year already? Shame on you Fox, that is not fair and balanced reporting there.

Further proof that this debt-laden FEMA Senate bill is a propaganda effort with political motivation at it’s roots is also supplied in the above linked FoxNews article, where Obama-puppet, DHS Chief, Janet Napolitano deemed it necessary to weigh in on the Democrat’s attempt at politicizing the Senate FEMA bill:

At an Aspen Institute event in Washington today, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano, in a somewhat rare, impassioned tone, underscored the urgency of the situation.
“The fight we’re in now is to get money for the disaster relief fund. We do not have enough money, given the number of disasters we’ve had this year, to finish the fiscal year, and to do all the things we have to do,” the secretary strongly warned.

We have DHS-ATF employees selling guns to drug cartels, southern border states screaming for help to protect their citizens from the criminal illegal immigrant invasion from Mexico, and this clown deems herself an authority over Congressional legislation and tries to tell them what they should or shouldn’t do? This is just further proof that the Obama administration is trying to manipulate our Congress through media propaganda once again. Need I remind Ms. Napolitano that she is an appointee of Barack Obama, and was not elected by we the people here?  She needs to keep that attempt at propagandizing Congressional leglislation to herself, and stay out of our Congress’ business. With her current ignoring of Federal Immigration laws to the detriment of our society, Ms Napolitano belongs in prison, not on national TV lecturing the American people on what is right or wrong for this country!

Senator Rand Paul tried to cut back on U.S. foreign aid spending as a way to pay for the Senate FEMA funding bill, but Harry Reid was joined by several progressive Republicans to deny that common-sense approach to actually “Pay as you go” as the Democrats like to say. “We cannot send welfare to other countries that we don’t have,” Paul pleaded, noting that bridges need to be rebuilt in his own home state before money goes to build them in other countries. Harry Reid is caught red-handed politicizing this Fema bill proposal, as I stated earlier:

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., stripped the 2012 funding from a larger annual spending bill to move it in a standalone measure, an unusual move that Republicans say was designed to score political points

Senator John Cornyn also brings up some valid points during this heated debate on the Senate political-football of the Fema debt-spending proposal, instead of actually paying for the 7 billion in spending in the bill:

“Obviously the disaster funding is important. I support funding FEMA. What’s frustrating, though, is this is gamesmanship on the part of Senator Reid,” accused Sen. John Cornyn, R-Tex, whose own state has been ravaged by wildfires. “He knows, and we all know, that in the Continuing Resolution that will pass the House next week that there are appropriations for disaster funding that do not increase the deficit

Cornyn also said that next year the FEMA spending bill should go through the actual regular appropriations process. Does he mean that next year Congress will actually produce a budget for the first time in 3 years there? I,ll believe that when I see it.

Senator Roy Blunt (R-MO) unintentionally let the truth come out when he said:
“I’m for paying for it if we can find a way to pay for it,” Blunt told Fox, “But if you want to take any line in the upcoming budget, since it’s going to require borrowing money, and say ‘none of it’s paid for’ in any line, because we don’t get to a balanced budget under anybody’s current plan in the next decade – I don’t think that’s much of an argument.” (emphasis mine)

This bill is said to be to fund FEMA for next year. Sen. Blunt states that it will require borrowing money to pay for it. NEXT YEAR. Our country is now so broke that we can not even find a way to pay for $7 billion in FEMA funding for next year. In looking at the total summary of this 2012 FEMA funding bill outlined here, and seeing the fact that progressives from both parties, led by the nose by Barack Obama and Harry Reid are saying that this bill will be put onto the already debt-laden backs of the working class and their children through more debt-spending should be quite informative, even to the most naive of citizens. Then again, we have some 59% of this country that want to put this nasty debt-spending responsibility onto the shoulders of the conservatives in our Congress. The facts simply do not line up with that often-stated ignorance there. Vote grassroots conservative in 2012 and we just might have a chance to pull out of this fiscal nightmare.

GOP Wins Special Elections in N.Y. and Nevada

Last night in a special election vote for the disgraced N.Y. Democrat Anthony Weiner’s House seat, retired broadcast executive and political novice Bob Turner (R) beat N.Y. State assemblyman David Weprin.(D)

Not only did a Republican take this seat for the first time since 1922,  NY-09 is a district where registered Democrats have a 3-1 voter margin over Republicans. Weprin also comes from a politically well-connected family up in mostly the blue State of New York.

N.Y. district 09 consists of parts of Brooklyn and Queens, and this Republican win speaks volumes about just how fed up voters really are with the Liberal Democrat’s policies of the past 5 years, and the direction of the country under far left Liberal Democrat, Barack Obama. It will be interesting to watch the Liberal media puppets try to say this is not a referendum on just how far left Democrats have tried to move this country in the last five years.

America is a center-right nation and we can very well expect Americans to prove that fact when Conservatives again win historic victories across America in the 2012 elections. And then we can start repairing the damage from four years of Democratic policies coming out of congress, plus the two and a half years of Barack Obama and Harry Reid blocking Republicans attempts at budgetary reform. Congratulations go out to new Congressman Bob Turner, make that new REPUBLICAN Congressman Bob Turner of N.Y.!  Newsmax also had the following headline that explains on how this massively blue district turned flaming red last night:

Koch Played Key Role in GOP Victory: The Republican victory in New York’s solid blue 9th Congressional District seat in Tuesday’s special election came largely with the help of an influential Democrat: former New York City Mayor Ed Koch. In the special election, the 86-year-old Koch urged fellow New Yorkers, and disaffected Democrats like himself, to send a message to President Obama that they give him a thumbs down for his domestic and foreign policies.

Meanwhile in another special election on Tuesday, Republican Mark Amodei beat another Democrat-State Treasurer Kate Marshall, to become the U.S. Representative for most of Nevada. This election was for Dean Heller’s old House seat, which became vacant after he took a promotion to replace John Ensign, who had resigned in May. This big Republican win also happens to be right in Liberal Senator Harry Reid’s own back yard, and should serve notice that, as soon Reid comes up for reelection, it is time to send him packing into disgraced retirement for his part of  the fiscal disaster America currently faces today.

This is truly a great day in American electoral history. Not only did we get rid of one of the most vile, despicable, loud-mouthed far left Liberal radicals to ever be allowed into the Unites States Congress, but the good people of new York  have replaced him with a conservative Republican!  As someone once said, ” And you ain’t seen nothin yet, baby! 2012 is going to be a rocking good-time election year, with true conservatives swarming the country to restore American Values and some very much-needed fiscal sanity into our government.  While we still have a mountain of work to do to retire far left Liberal Barack Obama and the rest of his political minions and misfits in 2012, this is certainly a good start ! Congratulations  to new Congressmen Bob Turner ( R-NY) and Mark Amodei ( R-NV) !!!!! Lets roll in 2012!~

The Classless Community Organizer Strikes Again

On this past Saturday of the Labor Day weekend that generally marks the end of summer in America, President Obama was in full community/union organizing mode during a speech he gave in Detroit. In an article at TheHill.com, Obama previews jobs plan, warns Republicans against ‘more games’, In that article citing direct quotes from his speech,  we get a glimpse of just how nasty and uncivil Obama and the Democrats are becoming leading up to the 2012 elections where they are slated to receive another historic beat-down due to their far Liberal agenda of the past four plus years. While the elections are still over a year away, Liberals and their fearless leader, Barack Obama are acting more like rabid attack dogs than the “new civil discourse champions” they demanded after Rep. Gabby Giffords was shot.

Barack Obama is the head of the Liberal Party USA today, and how he goes, so go the fake Democrats of Congress. Like a bunch of drones incapable of independent thought, most Democrats rely on parroting Obama’s words, or repeating his talking points memos verbatim. Keeping that in mind, we can easily deduce the democratic talking points for this week as Congress reconvenes and prepares for Obama’s upcoming supposed new jobs creation plan speech.  A few excerpts from Obama’s speech as noted in the above-mentioned article from The Hill:

Blame it all on Republicans, although the fake Democrats have been running roughshod over Congress for over the last four-plus years:

“We’re going to see if we’ve got some straight-shooters in Congress,” Obama said. “We’re going to see if congressional Republicans will put country before party.”

I would have to ask the President if he has been living in a cave in Pakistan for the last five years when he makes statements like this, that show him to be so far out of touch with reality as to try to deny what his Liberal spending Party has done to America.  FYI- Barack, your fake Democrats are directly responsible for massive amounts of national debt since 2008 when they took over Congress. To be precise,  Obama and his Liberal Party have slapped slap more debt onto the backs of  American citizens and their children in under fours years than GWB and Republicans did in eight! Obama himself called this massive debt increase “unpatriotic,” back in 2008 when he was community organizing for the office of president:

To quote Barack the candidate: “The problem is, is that the way Bush has done it over the last eight years is to take out a credit card from the Bank of China in the name of our children, driving up our national debt from $5 trillion for the first 42 presidents – #43 added $4 trillion by his lonesome, so that we now have over $9 trillion of debt that we are going to have to pay back — $30,000 for every man, woman and child. That’s irresponsible. It’s unpatriotic.” ( emphasis added)

Considering that the very same credit card from the bank of China Obama referred to back in 2008 is now pushing $15 trillion dollars, perhaps he should talk to his very own Democratic Party in congress about putting country before politics? Show some class Mr. President, and accept responsibility for you and your parties actions for once. Did U.S Senate majority leader, Liberal puppet Harry Reid ( pictured with you above) get the memo on putting country before politics? It sure doesn’t look like it, considering how he failed to act on the Transportation funding bill that the House had passed over three months ago, leading us down the path to another manufactured government crisis by your fake Democratic Party.

Threatening to bypass Congress once again the constitution be damned: Obama said he is hopeful that Republicans will join him in looking for ways to create jobs, but he warned “we’re not gonna wait for them.”  In plain English, that means either Republicans will line up at the feeding trough with Obama’s Liberals and continue to spend America into insolvency, or he will do so by executive fiat, no votes in Congress needed. It is always very informative to publish President Obama’s Union-pandering speeches, as they generally expose his true agenda of more spending and debt, and always include his tired rhetoric of blaming Republicans while ignoring the truth.

Taxpayers lost $1.3 billion dollars in the bailout of Chrysler , yet Obama and his Union pals called this a huge success Saturday:

“We stood by the auto industry and we made some tough choices that were necessary to succeed,” he said. “And now the Big Three is turning a profit and hiring workers and building the best cars, right here in Detroit, right here in the Midwest, right here in the United States of America.”

If Chrysler is such a success today and turning profits, how about making them pay back the treasury that $1.3 billion dollars Mr. President? Maybe your Liberal party will put the country before politics and work with Republicans in demanding your Union vote-buying pals pay us back in full during this session of Congress? By the way, when talking about the big three auto companies in Detroit turning profits today, how is the vaunted Chevy volt doing?  Not so well, as we see here:  Hard Times For the Chevy Volt  .  Now there is talk about a possible Union strike by the UAW which may only apply to Ford Motor Company, whom just happens to be the only one of the big three not currently run by the Unions in bed with the U.S. government: Ford Is Most Vulnerable Without Strike Ban as Union Talks Open.

Ford Motor Co., the most profitable U.S. carmaker, heads into contract talks with the United Auto Workers next week in the worst position among the
companies. Because Ford didn’t take a government bailout, it lacks two weapons rivals have: binding arbitration and a ban on strikes.(emphasis added)

President Obama’s Union-pandering speech on Labor Day weekend this past Saturday is being touted as some kind of a preview about his much-anticipated, “I will save America” jobs speech to be given to both houses of Congress this week.  Show some class Mr. President, and start with a statement that truly exemplifies what has transpired in America during your term as President and start your jobs speech with the following statement of truth:

” The big spending, big government expansion carried out on my orders to the far left Liberal party USA will continue for 2 more years whether or not the U.S. Congress or the people approve. Just like when we used illegal methods to pass my historic Obama-care that will lead to the destruction of the best health-care system in the world, while it was  against the wishes of over 70% of the people, we really did not care what you people wanted then, nor do we care what you want in the next two years. We will continue to ignore the U.S Constitution and the rule of law to ramrod oppressive wealth redistributive laws onto the backs of the workers of America in order to empower the Liberal Party and their vote-buying Union cronies for decades to come. “

Show some class Mr. President and start your jobs speech with some of the above-mentioned truth which includes a healthy dose of that vaunted, “Change we can believe in” campaign slogan you used to inject yourself as our President. Act like the President of the greatest nation on earth, instead of a classless community organizer on the perpetual campaign trail. Is that too much to ask for today?

Recipe For Disaster

Washington may call the recent “debt deal” necessary, but the “ingredients” that went into making the “deal” sometimes seem a bit “seedy”. A more appropriate name might be a recipe for disaster!

Making the Cut

As we all know money is on most everybody’s mind in these hard economic times, coupled with our Congress fighting each other over the debt and spending issues. No one in Congress has put any permanent solutions on the table but Cut, Cap and Balance seemed to be a step in the right direction. The House Republicans came up with a plan and the Democrats say it is DOA before the House ever voted on it.

When will the toddlers on Capitol Hill figure out they were hired to do a job, not argue and refuse to work together? We The People are their boss and if they cannot work things out with their fellow employees then they should be FIRED! No matter which side of the aisle they sit on they should be fired if they cannot work things out like the adults they claim to be.

With over six trillion dollars spent by the federal government there is plenty of room to make cuts. Senator Harry Reid got upset when the House Republicans wanted to cut funding for the National Endowment for the Arts. The last status I could find on the bill was that it had been “returned to the calendar.” Every road taken to try and bring our national budget into the realm of the real world has met road blocks by the Senate.

We spend almost a trillion dollars out of the federal budget on education.  Before these tax dollars can reach our schools we must pay four thousand people on the federal level. The money collected could be spent much more effectively on the state and local level and have a greater impact on our children. I have heard some say that the Department of Education should be eliminated. I personally think that we should keep the Department of Education, but we need to cut it back to roughly one hundred people from the four thousand we have now. I think that one hundred people are more than adequate staff to set forth the guidelines our schools teach to. I know there are countless programs that they “administer” but again the local and state levels normally do most of the “administering” and could make more of each dollar reach the classroom.

The Department of Labor is another fat laden federal waste of tax payer dollars. Sixteen thousand employees that shuffle papers and make up a few figures every now and then. Each state has agencies that actually take care of the people in their state.

The Department of Labor’s mission statement:

“To foster, promote, and develop the welfare of the wage earners, job seekers, and retirees of the United States; improve working conditions; advance opportunities for profitable employment; and assure work-related benefits and rights.”

The DOL has its enforcer OSHA who is in charge of collecting the extortion money from contractors and companies that employee we Americans. I do admit that there is some need for OSHA inspectors in some cases but most of the time it is all about the money.

There are countless contractors and those in manufacturing that can attest to the way many OSHA inspectors do not understand the codes they are sent to enforce. Some do not even know the function of pieces of equipment that they are sent to “inspect”. The same ones that are supposed to make sure America’s workforce is safe and properly trained themselves are oftentimes not properly trained.

In 2008 the number of civilian federal employees (excluding the postal service) was just under two million. How many of these positions are not needed? How much money could we save if we could eliminate these unneeded positions? How much of the national debt could we pay off by eliminating the unneeded positions?

These are just a couple of examples where we could eliminate wasteful spending. We need to clean house from top to bottom. Like businesses nationwide the government needs to cut overhead costs. Cutting the overhead cost would enable the lowering of taxes which in turn would create more jobs in the private sector and raise our economy and stabilize it.

New York Times Still Calling Reid’s Bill Failure “Republican Filibuster”

This afternoon, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s debt bill, S.627, failed to get to a vote for passage. The vote to end debate, otherwise known as a cloture vote, failed 50-49 as 60 votes are required to end debate.

Although Harry Reid has refused two offers by Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell to vote here and now on passage which would only require a 50 vote margin, the New York Times is putting the blame for Sen. Reid’s delay tactics on Senate Republicans.

Senator Harry Reid, the majority leader, had convened the Senate at noon, then moved to a procedural vote on his own proposal for raising the debt ceiling. Senate Republicans had been filibustering that plan, which House Republicans rejected on Saturday, and the vote on breaking the filibuster fell 10 votes short of the 60 votes needed under Senate rules.

from: Senate.gov roll call vote to end cloture on S.627

What the Times didn’t report was that one of the people “filibustering” Reid’s bill is .. Harry Reid himself. The Senate’s own roll call reflects the reality of the situation – Harry Reid voted “nay” on the vote to end the filibuster (the cloture vote image right).

If this is a filibuster, Harry Reid is leading the way.

Reid Delays Senate Vote on His Proposal Until 1pm Sunday

Just after 10pm on Saturday night, Harry Reid announced that the Senate vote on his debt bill was being moved from 1am on Sunday morning to 1pm Sunday afternoon eastern time.

Reid mentioned that negotiations were ongoing.

What comes out of these negotiations is likely to be a watered-down combination of several plans. The two-phase debt ceiling increase with an ultimate increase that will put the argument well past the 2012 elections. It will have the gimmicky cuts from all of the plans and will likely contain a non-binding vote on the Constitutional amendment to balance the budget which will NOT pass the Senate.

*update* vote for cloture (to end debate) on S.627 has failed. Reid joined other Senators in a vote that prevents a vote for passage on the plan at this time.

Compromise is a good thing!

Compromise can be a good thing,  but let me tell you what I thought yesterday about the happenings on the Hill.

I still wondered why Speaker Boehner, who was on the Sean Hannity show a few days ago, stated, “The Mack Penny Bill was worth looking at” had done absolutely nothing with regard to that bill? Even the media is saying very little about it. Why is that?

Instead of Cut, Cap and Balance or the Mack Penny Bill, Speaker Boehner’s bill passed. If compromises were made, then surely the essentials of cut, cap, and balance or even parts of Mack’s Penny bill were in the bill – or not.

Like many others, I had just assumed that the compromise would bring parts of all the different legislation into a bill that would garner support. Seeing what actually passed – he sold-out.

I felt bad for Speaker Boehner, and all he is going though. But, isn’t that what he is paid to do? Talking with Democrats is a necessary part of creating legislation, but NOT doing what the American people have hired him to do is unacceptable.

Yes, it is hard to take a stand. No one said it would be easy, but deal with it Boehner! This entire issue is about the deficit and more specifically .. spending.

2012 is not that far away, Mr. Speaker –  time to get to work!

House Version of Reid’s Debt Bill Fails House 173-246

Senate Majority Leader Harry ReidDemocrats joined Republicans in voting down the House version of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s debt bill on Saturday.

In a 173 to 246 vote, 10 Democrats crossed the aisle to vote against the bill.

In the pre-vote debate, a large part of Democrat commentary was in disagreement with the choice of rules under which the vote was being held. Under “suspension rule” 2/3rds majority was required for the bill to pass. It also limits debate and allows for no amendments. This rule set is intended to get a vote as quickly as possible.

Even if standard, simple-majority rules had been put in-play, the bill would have failed by a large margin.

Sen. Reid had spent much of Friday telling reporters that his bill was the only one that could pass both houses of Congress. So far, he has refused two offers by Senate Minority Leader McConnell to hold a vote on his bill in the Senate and now the House version of his bill has failed in the House.

Reid Shows Signs That He Does Not Have 60 Votes for His Bill [Video]

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid does not have the votes to pass his own debt ceiling bill. Reid spent Friday night addressing the Senate in an attempt to blame Republicans for his inability to garner 60 vote support in the Senate for his legislation.

Reid has 53 democrats that will vote for just about anything he puts in front of them. If he wants 7 more votes, he would have to compromise, but not much. He doesn’t want to negotiate – at all. That will delay the debt ceiling proceedings at least one more day.

The reason for the delay is cloture. A cloture vote would have ended debate and set it to a vote for passage. Reid refused McConnell’s offer for a cloture vote and that then requires a super-majority (60-vote threshold) to pass.

Considering the vote to table House Speaker Boehner’s bill only passed 59-41, Reid may have every reason to worry.

Here’e the video: GOP’s McConnell offers to give Reid an immediate vote on his bill and Reid turns it down while simultaneously calling the maneuver a GOP filibuster.

Now Reid may have trouble getting a single, large debt ceiling hike through the Senate and the despite moderate GOPers casting dispersion at them, the Tea Party holding the line may well have forced him to compromise for the first time in several years.

Harry Reid Wouldn’t Know Compromise If It Bit Him On The Nose

Things just are not the same when the shoe is on the other foot!

The Democrats are all up in arms with the Republican, specifically the Tea Party Republicans, for not “compromising” on the debt ceiling.

Sen. Harry Reid- (D) Nevada

Senator Harry Reid said:

“Obviously what is being done in the House is not a compromise. It is being jammed through with all kinds of non-transparent dealings, people shuffling in and out of the Republican leadership’s offices. We’re recognizing that the only compromise that there is is mine.”

Before we go any further, someone needs to inform the Senator from Nevada that his definition of “compromise” is not correct.

 Dictionary.com defines “compromise” as:

a settlement of differences by mutual concessions;
an agreement reached by adjustment of conflicting or opposing claims, principles, etc., by reciprocal modification of demands.

Senator Reid, compromise DOES NOT mean you get things YOUR way!

Secondly, Senator Reid speaks of this being “jammed through with all kinds of non-transparent dealings”. It is quite amusing how the Democrats are so indignant that they are not getting “their way” with the debt ceiling. Wow! They sure have a lot of room to talk, don’t they? If we think back to just a little over a year ago, wasn’t it Nancy Pelosi who said:

“We have to pass the bill so that you can, uh, find out what is in it…. away from the fog of the controversy.”

In the event the Democrats have forgotten this, here is a clip to remind them. She made that statement on March 9, 2010, a mere 16 months ago.

The Democrats “jammed through” Obamacare with “all kinds of non-transparent dealings”. Now the shoe is on the other foot, and they do not like the way it feels.

What goes around comes around, Senator Reid!

HR 2693 – Reid’s Debt Bill in the House [Full Text]

On Thursday, it appears as though the House version of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s debt bill has surfaced. HR 2693 “The Budget Control Act of 2011″. This bill isn’t compromise, it’s pure can-kicking.

 Summary

The Reid bill looks like mainly fluff – no real cuts and nothing of substance. It basically defers everything to another debt committee (e.g. Simpson-Bowles committee) and section 401 which raises the debt ceiling to almost $17 trillion dollars.

  • Non budgetary matters in the bill
    • Sell additional frequency bands (wireless spectrum auction)
    • Changes use of D-Block of electromagnetic spectrum for emergency uses
    • Changes the definition of “payment acres” for farm programs
  • Budget-related items
    • Creates another budget committee
    • Expedites the consideration of any recommendations of the committee
    • Sets aside spending for the committee
    • Changes to  student loans and pell grants (up)
      • Having trouble locating full text of current U.S.C. 1070(a), but it appears as though this increases 2011 appropriation for Pell Grants by ~$10 billion (300%+ increase) and increases another unknown sub-clause by $7.5 billion – will keep working on this.
    • Raises debt ceiling to $16.99 Trillion (from $14.3 trillion)
