Holes: A mother’s love of son and country

“Doc, send my uniform to my mom. She’ll fix ‘em for me,” once said, was all the breathe that young soldier had left in him.

Major Daniels honored that soldier’s last request. He and a sergeant removed the uniform in silence. They set the pants and top across chair backs to let the blood dry out. It would take some time to let that much of a soak be ready for sending to the soldier’s mother.

No one wanted to believe in war. So untouched as the country was by it for so long. Sure, soldiers came home from war all the time. Plenty of conflicts and fighting, over there. But in the streets and towns of America, no, who would have thought so?

But it happened anyway. While plucking at the rose petals of freedom, the Federals had finally grasped a thorn. Once orders were given to use armed drones on citizens within the States all hell broke loose.

There were minor militias in the field across the country for both sides. Federal forces were of course the better armed and trained, in the beginning anyway. Militia backup for the federals were nothing but untrained, undisciplined thugs from the streets, looking to set their wrath upon anyone who got in the way. More in it for the pillaging ‘pay-back’ as they had been told all their lives they were due than any sense of preserving the union or patriotism. Blood was the currency.

In the Rebel ranks, all walks of life were there. Young, old. Rich, poor. Men and women. Everyone who knew what was at stake turned out in some way or another. Still, they were outnumbered. A war against them, generations in the planning had been let loose. From private to general though among the Rebel ranks, all knew it was a fight of winner-takes-all. Knowing what was at stake steeled spines as well as heated blood with courage enough to stand against those lopsided odds.

Her son’s funeral was a quiet affair. So many of her family were supports of the Federals, sending hateful letters to the mourning mother of how glad they were that her boy was dead: He was so stupid for fighting. Another brainwashed extremist as far as they were concerned, good riddance.

Those who weren’t there that loved the boy were already gone to fight or dead. As for the rest of the people who had known that young soldier, they didn’t have the time to worry about what was going on or to come to his funeral. No matter what happened those people didn’t care one way or the other, indifferent to anything other than what was on TV. As far as those kinds of people were concerned their lives were static. Nothing ever changed or would. Blissful indifference.

She stood there with her husband. He stood holding her, solid as a rock. Only his eyes told of the pain and anger ravaging within. Together the soldier’s parents stood over him, even after the grave was filled in and the workers left.

In the morning her husband left with a kiss. Rifle slung over his shoulder and a bag in hand. For a moment he stood looking back at his wife, his home of so many years. At the flag hung from his porch. Meeting his wife’s eyes- husband and wife-father and mother- both knew exactly what had to be done and were set about doing it.

Several days later a paper wrapped package came to her in the mail. Letters full of hate still came but had become a trickle. To each of those kinds of letters received she sent notes in response, notes of forgiveness. She did not return to those senders back their hate, but love instead. No easy task. She let her faith guide her pen strokes.

Feeling the softness beneath the paper wrapping she knew what was wrapped inside. Over the last year she had gotten several like it. Her son would send back uniforms and other things that needed to be mended. Some things were hard to come by anymore so an old fashioned approach was needed. Needle and thread. Frugality.

It was not her son’s handwriting on the paper she stared at from her chair at the dining room table. With great care she opened her last package of her son. She took up the uniform and sought the places to be mended.

Her heart was hard yet her fingers did their work. Threading the needle. Stitch by stitch. Her sons dried blood stained the fabric where she closed up holes. Bullet holes. Such small things.

She pricked a finger while at the last hole. One that would have been near to her son’s heart. She pressed the fingertip into the shirts stain, mixing hers and his together.

Laying out the clothes across her bed she went in to take a shower. There with the water in her face she cried aloud. Letter the spray wash away her tears as fast as they came. All that was held back against her heart she let free.

In the morning she stepped down her porch and walked to her car. She turned to look back, standing for a moment. She looked at the home she had lived for so many years. At the flag hanging from her porch. To the window upstairs that had been her son’s bedroom. A rifle slung over her shoulder and a uniform stained crimson in places scarred by careful stitches. She knew what needed to be done, and set about doing it.

The Land Of The Free, Think Again

Reagan5.jpg.pagespeed.ce.Cd0G0aNNtV

Little by little, I have noticed that many freedoms are being taken away from us, but we do not seem to care; as a matter of fact, we seem to laugh and make light about it. I am not talking about big freedoms, but little things. But a freedom is a freedom, and it does not matter how small it might be. Many people do not realize that when the Government limits choice, it is limiting freedom; and that is exactly what it is doing today.

Everyone is probably aware that the Mayor of New York City Michael Bloomberg has banned sodas larger than 16 oz. Everyone I know says, that is ridiculous, we should be able to drink whatever size soda we want — after all, this is America. Bloomberg also indicated an interest in enforcing limits on other high-calorie foods like movie theater popcorn, coffee drinks and milkshakes.

So, we all talk about it, laugh a little and go on with our lives — it is forgotten about. Did you know that the Mayor also banned baby formula at hospitals, because he says breast-feeding is better for the baby? The hospital will still carry formula, but it will be kept under lock and key and forms must be filled out if the mother insists on using formula. He has also banned smoking on beaches or in the parks.

Why has he done all of this? Because HE says, it is better for us. We are too stupid and ignorant to think for ourselves, Government seems to know what is best for all people and they make sure they let us know about it. We once were the freest nation in the world — what happened to us? According to the Index of Economic Freedom, which is produced by the Heritage Foundation and the Wall Street Journal, the United States just barely makes it into the top ten: ranked number nine in the world.

Among the 179 countries examined in the Index, Hong Kong is ranked first, followed by Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, Switzerland, Canada, Ireland, and Denmark. These nations all outscored the U.S. across ten categories, including taxes, free trade, regulation, monetary policy, and corruption. The rights that Americans have lost over the years are just too many to fit on this page. I give small examples, but there are much bigger ones to be sure.

A while back in New Jersey, a couple had their son taken away by the state, because they named their child Adolph Hitler. Let me be clear, I would never name my kid that and I am sure you would not as well, but do we not live in America? Now, because the Government does not like a name, social workers can come in and take your child. What if the Government decided it do not like the name Olga, does that give the state the right to take your child? Where does it stop? We should be free to raise our children the way WE see fit, not the way the Government sees fit.

Every year there are new laws, new regulations and policies that restrict our freedoms and control the way we live our lives. The latest is Obama-Care. At last count there were 180 new bureaus, boards and commissions that have to be set-up for the new law, with them come 2700 pages of new taxes, laws and regulations — more freedoms we can kiss goodbye. The Government can now force you to buy coverage, tell you what doctor to use and what procedures you can have. Freedom? I don’t think so, but once again, the Government tells us what is best for us.

So if you keep saying that we are still the freest country on earth, you need to wake-up, because each year that goes by, we have fewer and fewer freedoms to enjoy. And with Obama as President for another four years, be prepared for our rating as a free nation to drop even further.

Soda, popcorn, smoking, baby formula are all little things, but they are all freedoms of choice which have been taken away. How many more little freedoms must be taken away before we have all had enough? I guess we are not there yet, but sooner or later it is going to come. But by then we will not be able to do anything about it.

This is one man’s opinion.

6 Vital Battlefronts in the Fight for America

American Flag

America’s devastating loss to Obama last week has prompted a lot of discussion about how the Republican Party moves forward from here. The talk of dropping social conservatism is the most disturbing to me. Social conservatism is the “values” wing of American Dream. The debt is a moral issue every bit as much as it is a fiscal one. It must be conquered in a variety of different ways, including molding a society that does not have so much need of so many taxpayer-funded programs. Besides, the Democrats aren’t tossing their social platform. Abortion, gay marriage, restriction of religious freedoms – these are all social issues. If we take our stance off the table we are simply conceding that the Democrats are the moral authority of all these things. No, going Democrat-lite is not the answer. Some adjustments and compromises will be made within the party regarding certain issues, to be sure. However, those compromises need not compromise the core principles and traditional values of our party.

All those details have yet to be worked out, but in the meantime there are things we can be doing strategically to pave the road for what is to come. Andrew Breitbart was right: this is war; but it is a war with many battlefronts. We don’t all have to focus on one thing at a time. I’ve come up with six battlefronts that I think will be instrumental in turning the party and this country around.

Media - There is no doubt the mainstream media went a long way to winning this election for Obama. Their cover-ups and silence of administration scandals and their nonstop demonizing of Republicans and conservatives have flooded the airwaves for years.  It has an enormous effect on how the general public views the Republican party and hot button issues. In his book Left Turn: How Liberal Media Bias Distorts the American Mind, author Tim Groseclose conducted a study in which he concluded the liberal bias of the mainstream media adds as much as 8-10 polling points to the Democrat candidate in any given race. In an election year where the two candidates were running neck and neck, that figure is disturbing. How would the tide and tone of the election have been different if the mainstream media had been less bias and more curious? It is imperative we disable the traditional media complex. They have proven they cannot be trusted to report the truth. If we are to change the perception of the Republican Party the first place to start is the media. They need to held accountable, infiltrated where possible and circumvented regularly. Bloggers and alternative news sources like Fox and talk radio will obviously play a key role in wrestling back the news cycle.

Culture - This is a front conservatives abandoned long ago. The arts and entertainment industry sets the tone of our culture, and they have skewed almost exclusively left for years. Meanwhile, we moved on to more “weighty” issues in an attempt to ignore the “fluff”. The problem with that is, while we were arguing about tax structure and constitutional values, the American public fell in love with Madonna, JayZ, Glee, the forensic procedural and the Daily Show – all of which/whom are heavily influenced by liberal ideology; and since many Americans are more familiar with what Jon Stewart thinks than what the constitution says, perhaps it wasn’t such a great strategy to turn our back on the culture. To quote the late, great Breitbart one more time: “Politics is downstream of culture.” We need to do everything we can to win back this culture and take back “the norm”. How do we do this? By supporting good, quality entertainment that reinforces American values and by shunning offensive entertainment. This does not mean trying to create a bunch of pro-American, in-your-face “conservative” works. It just means stripping pop culture of its political agenda. We don’t need to create “message art”. Too often that results in sub par productions that go nowhere. Good work will draw attention and the values of any creator will seep into any creation regardless of intention. We need more good work by good artists who love America and conservative principles; and when we see that good work we need to be sure to support it with our dollars and our time.

Community Outreach - Probably one of the most dismal failures of the GOP is that they have given up on the votes of minority communities. It’s no secret that Blacks and Latinos in particular are generally socially conservative and yet vote Democrat en masse. The Democrats successfully  rebranded their party from the founders of the KKK and Jim Crow while at the same time shifting the accusation of racism to the Republicans. Let’s not kid ourselves – it was a masterful stroke that has dealt a crippling blow to the GOP over the last 50 years. As a result, we’ve conceded that minorities will never vote Republican in large blocks again. We have to stop being afraid of the word ‘racist’. We know it’s not true and we know our platform is one that promotes economic prosperity for all, not just some. There are many dedicated and passionate minority Republicans who are ready and able to start wading into communities where our message has not always been welcome and start articulating the message of freedom. The GOP needs to get these folks platforms in the communities and start surprising people by shattering the misconceptions of Republicans. We will also need to step up even more on the private charity front. We know many more families will be suffering as the economy continues to tank. We need to reach out to those hurting families. It is an opportunity to model  our belief that individuals can do more  to help their suffering neighbors and communities than the government can, and in a more sustainable way. Becoming consistent stewards of our neighbors will go a long way to healing false divisions foisted upon us by the liberal media complex.

Legal - I was going to make education a separate battlefront because the hijacking of our education system by the “social justice” crowd has had an enormous impact on the world view of the children who go on to become our leaders. However, I decided to include it under the ‘Legal’ battlefront because most of the issues in our education system will need to be won through the courts. We’ll need lawyers and legal minds to continue to battle those trying to remove religious freedoms or freedom of thought from our schools. School choice is almost always challenged in the courts wherever the people have passed it. It will need to continue to be defended. We’ll also need to continue to battle the education complex for parental rights and fight the myriad of legal maneuvers by teachers unions to strengthen their grip on our school system while simultaneously eroding education. Besides education, we’ll need continued legal support against courts overturning the will of the people on controversial issues they’ve voted on and constitutional violations in the public square. The legal battlefront is one of the most difficult because it requires a certain, expensively acquired skill-set and a lot of money…which is probably what makes it one of the more important battlefronts.

Political – The GOP needs to start putting our minority brethren in front of the camera and start putting money behind their endeavors. The “face” of the party needs to change to reflect the changing demographics of this nation. It may feel patronizing to some, but the truth is people are more inclined to trust those who look like them, and the majority of Americans are now “minorities”. Let’s catch up to that. As brilliant as they are, the GOP needs to remove Sununu and Gingrich and McCain as the public faces of the party and start flooding the airwaves with our equally brilliant minority representatives. Every interview, tv appearance, public appearance should include a minority face. We need to do it until it becomes normal and expected in the general public. This strategy has worked in our pop culture to normalize behaviors and activities we would never have publically approved of in the past. The GOP needs to adopt this same strategy and change their public perceptions.

Faith - The holiday season is upon us and at this time of year more than any other we see faith and religious values under assault in the public square. Generally speaking, faith has become a target of the left – from removing Christian references from schools to punishing small school children for drawing pictures of Jesus to forcing Catholics to violate their religious conscience and on and on. The Democrats removed God from their official platform at the DNC and when they tried to reinsert Him after a public outcry He was booed…three times! The Democrats speak of tolerance but they move to block God at every turn. We need people willing to fight for freedom of religion in the courts, in the public square and in their hometowns. Freedom of faith is the backbone of this country and why it was founded and fought for in the first place. Our laws and our traditions are based on Judeo-Christian values. There will be no successful political strategy that doesn’t involve protecting the religious freedom of Americans. This must be considered a vital battlefront if we are to win in the future.

We are all a part of this “war for America”, but we are all gifted in different areas. Many regular Americans feel that they are not empowered to affect the process. To that I say “You have more power than you know. You have a gift. You have a skill. Take those skills and gifts, find a battlefront where they apply and go to work!”

The bad news is our fight is just beginning. The good news is…our fight is just beginning.

Rebooting America’s Papa John’s Appreciation Day Has Arrived

Screen Shot 2012-11-16 at 12.00.54 PM

It’s time to show appreciation for America’s job creators and investors.  Justen Charters, Founder of Rebooting America, has declared today as Papa John’s Appreciation Day to combat the left-wing hate hurled at the pizza chain for their proposed changes to services in the wake of Barack Obama’s re-election, and the looming imposition of Obamacare.  This included increasing costs on pizza and cutting employee hours, which is the byproduct of the president’s health care overhaul.  It’s about to turn us into a nation of part-time workers.

Nevertheless, in a written statement, Charters said that:

this is about standing up for a business owner who told investors and the American people that Obamacare will hurt profits. This is about turning the attempted boycott by the left on it’s head and supporting free markets and free speech. Boycotts only hurt employees, they don’t help them. The narrative from the left in the elections tried to pushed the theme that conservatives do not care for the poor. We can debunk that, if you simply visit our event page and see that we are asking those who are in the financial position to do so to give a pizza to a homeless person or somebody who is down on their luck. And before I forget, This is not just about Papa Johns. Papa Johns is an easy enthusiasm creator because everyone loves pizza. Other companies like Olive Garden and Red Lobster have also come under attack for taking the same stand as John Schnatter.

Stand up for economic freedom, and make your night Papa John’s.

LA Times Columnist to Chick-fil-A: Shut Up and Fry!

Screen Shot 2012-08-01 at 6.01.20 PM

Today is Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day and freedom of speech never tasted so good. However, as millions of Americans lined up to grab one of their tasty chicken sandwiches and waffles fries, counter protests were also planned over Chick-fil-A President Dan Cathy’s , alleged anti-gay remarks, which were nothing more than an expression of his religiously-informed believe in traditional marriage.  In a confusing piece in the L.A. Times by Michale Hiltzik, he directly quoted what Cathy said:

We are very much supportive of the family — the biblical definition of the family unit, he told the Biblical Recorder. On the radio, he observed: I think we are inviting God’s judgment on our nation when we shake our fist at him and say we know better than you as to what constitutes a marriage.

But being pro-family is not anti-gay.  Indeed, Chick-fil-A serves anyone who comes in the door and doesn’t discriminate against homosexuals for employment. But in the midst of all the left-wing clucking over Cathy’s remarks, Democratic Mayors Rahm Emanuel of Chicago and Thomas Menino of Boston hinted they’d block Chick-fil-A’s expansion in their cities just because they didn’t like Cathy’s politics.  Other liberal Democratic mayors, like Ed Lee of San Francisco, have made similar rumblings.

Hiltzik turned to anti-Christian mockery of Cathy’s religious beliefs, snarking that “it might not be a terrible idea to try to learn a little more about why he thinks he has a direct line into God’s medulla oblongata before accepting his claim to be the Lord’s personal spokesman.”  It’s comforting to see how the mainstream press can be so fair in their assessment of personal faith.

Hiltzik also suggested that CEOs of corporations should keep their mouths shut because they might be boycotted.   He mentions Whole Foods founder John Mackey who:

in 2009… wrote an op-ed attacking President Obama‘s healthcare proposals. Mackey hinted that we could probably do away with the need for organized healthcare by eating from the right menu, such as that marketed by his stores. He argued that the nation’s founding documents didn’t reveal any intrinsic right to healthcare, food, or shelter” anyway, so quitcher bellyachin’. A boycott of Whole Foods was promptly launched. In 2010, similarly, it was revealed that Target had contributed $150,000 to a PAC backing a gubernatorial candidate opposing gay rights. A customer and shareholder backlash followed.

Despite these boycotts, both Whole Foods and Target are still getting along quite well and arguably saw upticks in business from political conservatives who were annoyed at the Left’s boycotts. However, Hiltzik doesn’t mention anywhere in his piece that “Google, Ebay, Microsoft, Starbucks, Electronic Arts (EA) and Zynga are among the 70 companies, professional organizations and municipalities opposed to the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), which bans federal agencies from recognizing the legal marriages of gay and lesbian couples.” Furthermore, “the employers filed an amicus brief urging the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals to find portions of the act unconstitutional in Golinski v. Office of Personnel Management.”  That is far more political than anything Dan Cathy has done.

Nevertheless, Hiltzik argued that Cathy has every right to say how he feels on political matters but he just can’t do it at work, which happens to be based on the values he was espousing in the interview.  A privately-held company, Mr. Cathy can afford to not worry about the politically-correct tempests that keep publicly-traded companies like McDonald’s or Burger King from offending the PC police.

In an another act of liberal presumption, Hiltzik concluded his piece by complaining that

corporate executives surrounded by yes men telling them how wise they are will probably continue to try sharing their wisdom on subjects well outside their core competencies. Sometimes they’ll tailor their words to what they think are their target markets. Sometimes, like Cathy, they’ll discover that there are bigger markets out there where customers may not care for what they have to say. We should defend to the death their right to speak, and also our own right to make them pay for it, or not, at the cash register.

Perhaps on his lunch break today, Mr. Hiltzik had the chance to pass a Chick-fil-A that was lined up around the block with customers.

Are We Losing Our Rights?

This week several potentially dangerous news reports popped into my email. These stories have one thing in common: the loss of personal freedom. It may be a case where each issue, of itself, is small, but added together gives the appearance of a definite shift. Here are links to the articles:

High school seniors in Minnesota required to take breathalyzer test before attending graduation practice. Why? Not at the request of police, but because a parent reported smelling alcohol on students’ breath. All were tested. No parents were notified prior to the action. The school’s reasoning? They were concerned students might be driving following the practice. No one argues that underage drinking is bad but what is to stop schools from requiring breathalyzers or drug tests on all students, just because?

In Colorado police received a tip that a bank robber was at a particular intersection. They swooped in and halted all traffic, then proceeded to handcuff the adults in 19 cars at the intersection while they searched for the robber. Handcuffed just for being at an intersection? The police reaction? They caught the robber…therefore, the end justified the means.

We’ve heard about Mayor Bloomberg’s soft drink restriction plan (that goes along with the no salt rules and no smoking in public parks) in New York City. One has to wonder how far will the government go to protect us from ourselves? In the Huffington article they ask, “If government is within its right to restrict behavior to protect health, then why wouldn’t a mayor or other official ban risky sexual conduct or dangerous sports like skydiving? What’s to stop a mayor from requiring people to wear a certain type of sunscreen or limit the amount of time they can spend on the beach, to protect them from skin cancer?”

A physician in Arizona was thrown out of a Barnes & Noble bookstore. Their reason? He was a lone male shopping in the children’s section. A female patron reported him to the staff. It did not matter that he was shopping for his grandchildren. The store has since apologized but not before first standing by their decision of forcibly removing a completely innocent shopper from their premises.

Companies in the US and abroad are promoting implanting all babies with a microchip. Touted as an efficient way to manage people this Orwellian barcode would certainly allow Big Brother to watch and record your every move. Frightening? It should be.

Many in our government seem to believe we cannot take care of ourselves. They act as though ‘they’ know best and that a nanny state is the most responsible course of action. As we hear more stories of law enforcement agencies using drones and other “spy planes” to watch citizen actions we need to ask ourselves, “Are we losing our freedom?” Our Constitution guarantees us certain rights and at the same time limits the government. It’s time for citizens to stand up and speak out. If we don’t this police state mentality will continue to grow.

Christians the Key to America’s Future; But They Are Failing

2 Chronicles 7:14 is the Answer

“if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves, and will pray and seek my face, and will turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear them from Heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14

Christians hold the key to the future of America and they are failing in their mission to preserve the freedom given to us by God Himself.  The Israelites of old got tired of following the prophets God gave them to oversea their nation and clamored for a king. God wanted them to follow Him but acquiesced to their demands and let them pick a king.  They picked Saul and he eventually drove them into slavery because he followed his own human desires and forgot where the real power came from.

Eventually, David was appointed by God through the prophet Samuel.  Saul did everything he could to destroy David but God protected him until the time for his reign was at hand.  David eventually sinned with Bathsheba and had her husband killed in battle.  He paid a very dear price but when he repented and came back to God he was forgiven.  When David’s grandson became king, the nation of Israel divided and began growing in their rebellion and even began worshipping idols.  For the next few centuries God allowed them to be defeated by their enemies and ended up in slavery, with their nation completely destroyed.

Today America is following the same path, and will be punished for it’s arrogance in the face of God’s love and kindness.  We have been given a great nation, formed from the blood of freedom loving men and women, and defended with the blood of freedom loving men and women for generations, generations that add up to 236 years of freedom from the tyranny of the King of England, or any other tyrrant.  We have been given a nation, formed upon “Divine Providence”, but are throwing it away.  We are on the verge of losing that freedom because we no longer look to God for our freedom, we look to men who have proven themselves to be interested only in giving a voice to their own evil desires in our society.

I continually hear the “anyone but Obama” chant from Christians who look to Mitt Romney as their savior.  “Only Mitt Romney can save us from the tyranny of Obama”, and “not voting for Romney is voting for Obama” are the words I am chided and ridiculed with.   In a conversation with my pastor a few weeks ago he spoke of a conversation he had with a “Christian” man a couple of years back.  This man told my pastor that he was “prayerfully pro-choice”.  My pastor had the same thought that hit me immediately, “you’re an idiot!!!!”(I would have voiced my thoughts but he was more discreet).

Rebellion against God is the malady that is destroying our nation.  Abortion is accepted as “a woman’s right to choose”.  That right to choose, at least as I read the Bible, ends at conception.  God formed us in our mother’s womb it says in Jeremiah 1:5, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you. I ordained you a prophet to the nations”.  I have been chided with “where is the word ‘abortion’ mentioned in the Bible?” so many times it sickens me.  No, the word “abortion” is not in the Bible, but then the word “rapture” is not in the Bible either. I believe that everyone knows what the word “rapture” refers to and I don’t know any Christians who deny the Rapture is going to take place, regardless of what we call it.  I believe “caught up” is the most commonly term used.  I don’t know where the word “rapture” came from and don’t really care.  The point is I understand the concept, regardless of the actual word or term used, as in the references to abortion in today’s vernacular.

“Gay rights” is another misnomer that too many Christians find acceptable under the political correctness tab.  In 1 Corinthians 6:9, the Bible states very plainly that homosexuals will not inherit the kingdom of God.  I don’t know how anyone can construe that verse as God accepting homosexuality as “normal”.  He destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah because Lot could not find five “righteous men”.  In the context of the story I find that to mean he could not find five men who were not homosexuals.

Now I read that a new version of the Bible is being published that promotes, and even celebrates, homosexuality.  How can any Christian not find that abhorrent?  Churches are even ordaining openly homosexual men and women into the ministry in celebration of their “enlightenment and tolerance”.  How can we expect God to honor this nation when that is the order of the day, not only in government, the courts, and secular society, but in our churches?

Some churches are now merging Christianity with Islam; calling is “Chrislam”, and once again celebrating their “enlightened” selves.  Islam denies the divinity of Jesus Christ and that is acceptable in the name of “tolerance” to some church groups and some Christians?  I don’t get it!!!  I don’t care how people live their lives in private but society accepting what God calls evil is not the right thing to do.  Tolerance and acceptance of these things is not what God calls for in His Word.  Jesus called for us to “love the sinner but hate the sin”.  Loving the sinner is not the same as enabling and accepting the sin.

Now we find Christians in such fear of another four years of Barack Obama that they will throw God aside and call me names because I refuse to vote for Mitt Romney, a man who openly embraces both abortion and “gay rights”.  Romney is a Mormon, allegedly a Christian, but I don’t hold that against him.  I know others who are Mormons but hold a much different attitude than does Mr. Romney.  What I take issue with is his pandering to the evil that is destroying our nation in order to be “tolerant and inclusive”.

People are being deceived, as is stated will happen in the end times.  Right has become wrong and wrong has become right.  Standing on biblical principles today in America is cause for ridicule and derision.  Calls of “bigot, homophobe, hater, right-winger”, and other vile names are used in order to marginalize and intimidate those who stand on Christian values, to silence any opposition.  God is being pushed aside by those “enlightened ones” who know better and are more “tolerant and inclusive”.  Those of us who stand by biblical concepts are treated ever more profanely as days go by.

Another four years of Obama may be “all my fault” but I cannot abandon God’s principles to gain the favor of those who are willing to abandon those same principles in order to be accepted in society.  When the day of God’s judgment comes to the United States of America as a nation will you be able to say that you stood your ground and did what you could to stop the slide to oblivion?  Many people laugh at and deride me now, and many who read this will add their voices of derision and laughter to the cacophony I now hear; but I think of the people who laughed at and derided Noah, until the rain started.

Voting for Romney because he isn’t quite as bad as Obama is not the answer to our nation’s woes.  The spirit of fear gripping most Christians today is harmful to us personally and as a nation.  That “spirit of fear” gripping our nation is rebellion against God.  Until we are willing to stand and fight what seems to be a hopeless fight we will continue to lose because God will not be with us.  How many times did the ancient Israelites win battles against hopeless odds because they put their faith in God instead of man?  David beat Goliath because he stood when others were afraid to stand. David’s faith in God brought him through an impossible battle because he stood on that faith when the leaders of Israel failed to do so.  Joshua at Jericho and Abraham rescuing Lot and the other captives with a token force of warriors are but two more examples of what we can do if we look to God instead of looking to man.

I will write in the name of John Albert Dummett Jr. (www.johndummett.us ) when I step into the voting booth in November.  “He can’t win” and “you are wasting your vote” are the popular comments I hear, and that is most likely correct in a fearful and secular nation.  John stands for the same values I stand for, and takes the same ridicule for his principles that I take.  I will not vote out of fear of Obama and I will not vote for the lesser of two evils ever again.  I am also voting for Dwayne Thompson (www.dwaynethompson.org ) in the Congressional race in my home district (Ok 2nd) because he stands on God’s principles, not on what sounds fancy to voters.  Both of these men will tell you that God is the answer to our problems, not politicians.  That is why I support them, because I believe in their message, and in God’s message.  They desire to follow God’s word and the Constitution.

Somewhere, sometime, somehow we have to turn this nation around.  There is only one way to accomplish that task and that is to get back to our founding fathers’ example.  They relied on “divine providence” to lead them and I believe they did a bang up job of creating a nation that is the most free and most prosperous ever created.  They didn’t do it by accident and they didn’t do it by relying on fear.  They created our nation and our Constitution by prayer and by following the concepts laid out in God’s Word, the Holy Bible.  We must get back to that concept if we are to survive as a free nation under the protection of Divine Providence.  Any other concept will be met with continued failure and eventual slavery, poverty, tyranny, and death.

Compromising God’s Word is not an option for me.  Voting for Romney would be a compromise of the most precious gifts God has given me and I will not do that.  Regardless of who wins in November those of us who stand on our Christian principles and values will suffer greatly in this nation because evil will reign.  God will not be with a nation who does not want Him and will not force anyone, or any nation, to follow Him.  He will have His way in the end.  Will you be there, regardless of the cost personally? Will you take the insults and derision to stand for God and the principles that were used to make our nation great or will you play it safe before man?

It may already be too late for America.  Noah’s boat may have already sailed, but I am among those who still believe there is time for repentance.  There are those crying in the wilderness for repentance of a sinful nation.  Those voices are not being heard at this time and it is sad that is the case.  A nation, One Nation Under God, is falling away from the very source of power that created it and will pay a terrible price very soon.  2 Chronicles 7:14 is the answer but too many Christians are failing to seek the right answer.

I submit this in the name of the Most Holy Trinity, in faith, with the responsibility give to me by almighty God to honor His work and not let it die from neglect.

The Face of the United States “Forward”

Obama's slogan

President Obama takes offense when the word Socialism is used to describe his policies, but lately even the liberal media is giving ‘some’ focus to the president and his policies. As the contrast continues between President Obama’s slogan “Forward” and the same term used in Vorwärts written by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels which was later used in Communist and Socialist propaganda the dissemination of the U.S. is a slow, but very real event. One doesn’t have to go far to realize this. Take any of the names from the Muslim Brotherhood, who are part of the President’s staff, or his past, and watch a U-tube video, or research their backgrounds.  We are not only living with the treat of Islam, Jihad – which is the installation of Shari’a Law, (www.conservativedailynews.com/didyouknow )  we are also moving toward Socialism.

How many people know the depth of Karl Marx or attempted to read his Manifest der Kommunistischen Partei (Communist Manifesto)? But more importantly is the knowledge and understanding of Marxism, and how it relates to what is truly at stake in this country. The progressive movement, socialism, or the move to dismantle the Constitution, along with other key factors, are what is really at stake here.  So who is Karl Marx anyway and why should I care?

Brief History of Karl Marx

In short Karl Marx (May 5, 1818 – March 14, 1883) was a man of many thoughts, but mainly known for being the author of Manifest der Kommunistischen Partei (The Communist Manifesto 1848) and the movements most important book, Das Kapital. The ideologies of Marx form the basis of thought found in Marxism.

Karl was the oldest surviving son of nine children. His father was a lawyer devoted to Kant and Voltaire. Both his parents were Jewish, but prior to the birth of Karl his father converted and was baptized in the Evangelical Established Church. Karl was baptized at the age of seven. He was an educated man who was influenced by liberal teachers, radical social policies of the Enlightenment, and by discrimination of the times which was probably what really enticed him to look for social change. In college Marx was introduced to the philosophy of Hegel where he became involved with the Young Hegelians. “At first he felt a repugnance toward Hegel’s doctrines; when Marx fell sick it was partially, as he wrote his father, “from intense vexation at having to make an idol of a view I detested.” The Hegelian pressure in the revolutionary student culture was powerful, however, Marx joined a society called the Doctor Club, whose members were intensely involved in the new literary and philosophical movement. Their chief figure was Bruno Bauer, a young lecturer in theology, who was developing the idea that the Christian Gospels were a record not of history but of human fantasies arising from emotional needs and that Jesus had not been a historical person. Marx enrolled in a course of lectures given by Bauer on the prophet Isaiah. Bauer taught that a new social catastrophe “more tremendous” than that of the advent of Christianity was in the making. The Young Hegelians began moving rapidly toward atheism and also talked vaguely of political action.  The Prussian government, fearful of the subversion latent in the Young Hegelians, soon undertook to drive them from the universities. Bauer was dismissed from his post in 1839. Marx’s “most intimate friend” of this period, Adolph Rutenberg, an older journalist who had served a prison sentence for his political radicalism, pressed for a deeper social involvement. By 1841 the Young Hegelians had become left republicans.” http://www.britannica.com/EBchecked/topic/367265/Karl-Marx

Later, after Marx received his degree he became engaged and married Jenny von Westphalen, the two moved to Paris which was the center of socialist thought and ideals of communism. There, Marx first became a revolutionary and a communist and began to associate with communist societies of French and German workingmen. Their ideas were, in his view, “utterly crude and unintelligent,” but their character moved him: “The brotherhood of man is no mere phrase with them, but a fact of life, and the nobility of man shines upon us from their work-hardened bodies,” he wrote in his so-called “Ökonomisch-philosophische Manuskripte aus dem Jahre 1844” (written in 1844;Economic and Philosophic Manuscripts of 1844 [1959]). (These manuscripts were not published for some 100 years, but they are influential because they show the humanist background to Marx’s later historical and economic theories.) http://www.britannica.com/EBchecked/topic/367265/Karl-Marx

As time progressed Marx became more engulfed in Communism and the ideals of the left. The significance of his writings found in the Communist Manifesto, et.al., are an important part of history. They represent an interesting contrast to what is happening in the United States and the Constitution of the United States. It is critical for people to find their own interpretations and look for their own answers when trying to make decisions relevant to what is the best interest of the United States and her citizens. Karl Marx, like most people today, became fed up with the issues relevant to his time, but choosing the wrong path can ultimately lead to the demise of fundamental expectations. In the Communist Manifesto he describes what is necessary to destroy a free enterprise system (Ten Planks) and replace it with a communist socialist state. The ten tenants (Planks) of Communism are strikingly similar to that of the American counterparts. The dissemination of our own Constitution appears to be in the works.

Marxism in a Nutshell

According to Karl Marx, three phases are necessary in order to convert a society to communism:

1. The total destruction of any existing system

2. Wealth must be collectivized by a leader who emerges to take control of the populous choices of education, religion, employment, and private property ownership

3. Utopia is then achieved by government control

Marx describes the existence of these 10 essential tenets:

1. A centralized banking system

2. Government controlled education

3. Government controlled labor

4. Government ownership of transportation and communication

5. Government ownership of agriculture and factories

6. Abolition of private property ownership

7. Private property right confiscation

8. Heavy income tax

9, Elimination of the right of inheritance

10. Regional governmental planning

Communist leaders also recognized the need to discourage albeit abolish religion. Religion is seen as antithetical and dangerous.

The 10 Planks of Marxism:

1. Abolition of private property in land and application of all rents of land to public purpose.

The 5th Amendment clearly states the government cannot take a persons property for public use without giving them just compensation. This is known as the “Takings” Clause, because it gives the government the right to “take” property. But the 5th Amendment Eminent Domain Clause in the Bill of Rights states: “…nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.” The lines become somewhat ambiguous when the government has the power to determine what is “just.” The land is meant to be used for public good or necessity such as highways, libraries, schools, and so on. Government officials have consistantly abused their powers as seen in cases listed below. You can also read more: http://www.revolutionary-war-and-beyond.com/eminent-domain-clause.html#ixzz1uEh0mWLt

Some Eminent Domain Cases:

Penn Central v. New York City (1978)

Dolan v. City of Tigard (1994)

Lucas v. South Carolina Coastal Com’n. (1992)

Tahoe Preservation Council v Tahoe Regional Planning Agency (2002)

Kelo v City of New London (2005)

2. A heavy progressive or graduated income tax.

This one really speaks for itself. The lack of understanding here regarding corporate taxes and this administrations propaganda to push the American people under the pretext that the “rich can pay more“ is at core of this tenant. The United States has the highest taxes on corporations than any other country in the world including Japan.  Large Corporations are not expanding,  they are leaving the U.S., and small businesses are going bankrupt. This is by far one of the greatest tenants of Communism whereby the rich will stay rich and everyone else will subside equally at the mercy of the government. These outrageous corporate taxes will continue to drain the American Economy while reducing corporate growth, salary increases, and job creation.

3. Abolition of all rights of inheritance.

For Karl Marx this particular tenant was put in place so no single person would ever have a right to property, whether real or personal under any kind probate law — there would be no inheritance. In the United States Americans call it the “Death Tax” which the name alone should speak for itself. The argument American’s should hold to, other than the fact that the taxes are not going to the states, is that the property is being taxed twice once when the person is alive and purchased it, and then again with inheritance tax when the person dies, which is clearly unethical, unlawful, and unjust by any standards.

4. Confiscation of the property of all Immigrants and rebels.

This particular issue pertains to Janet Napolitano’s Homeland Security’s scrutiny of what they refer to as “homegrown militias.” A keynote case involved Michigan Militia who acted in the name of Hutaree.  They were accused of conspiring to overthrow the government, planning to assassinate a police officer, and attempting to incite an uprising against the Federal government by bringingg explosives to the officers funeral. The attack at the funeral never happened, yet Eric Holder felt inclined to raid the Hutaree outposts, and confiscate its members’ guns. In March 2012 the serious charges against the group were dismissed – a shocking slap in the face of the Federal government. The presiding judge concluded “hatred of the government did not amount to conspiracy to overthrow it.” To read more about that case go to: http://dig.abclocal.go.com/wls/documents/Hutaree-evidence.pdf

The second amendment is slowly but surely being taken away enabling government to tighten its grip over its citizens. It is one of the main events that occurred by the Soviets. Disarming its citizens allowed the Soviets the ability to maintain absolute power over its people.  In the United States this happens under the disguise of: government seizures, tax liens, Public law 99-570 (1986), Executive order 11490- sections 1205, 2002 which gives private land to the Department of Urban Development,  the imprisonment of ‘terrorists’ and those who speak out or write against the government (1997 Crime/Terrorist Bill), or the IRS confiscation of property without due process.  Asset forfeiture laws are used by DEA, IRS, ATF, and so on.  Another example: on March 7, 2012 the ACLJ Defends Tea Party Groups From IRS Assault. To read about this go to: http://aclj.org/free-speech-2/aclj-defends-tea-party-groups-from-irs-assault  It is important to recognize how the government is becoming more and more like “Big Brother,” it continues to grow in wealth and power while the American people and their rights become antiquated relics of the past.

5. Centralization of credit in the hands of the state, by means of a national bank with State capital and an exclusive monopoly.

Americans call it the Federal Reserve which is a privately-owned credit/debt system allowed by the Federal Reserve act of 1913. The Federal Reserve sets the nations monetary policy, controls the American economy, guides interest rates, and controls inflation. The way the reserve is continually printing money devalues our currency, hence the cost of goods and services rise.  All local banks are members of the Federal system, and are regulated by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) another privately-owned corporation.

6. Centralization of the means of communications and transportation in the hands of the State.

Americans call it the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and Department of Transportation (DOT) mandated through the ICC act of 1887, the Commissions Act of 1934, The Interstate Commerce Commission established in 1938, The Federal Aviation Administration, Federal Communications Commission, and Executive orders 11490, 10999, as well as State mandated driver’s licenses and Department of Transportation regulations. You may recognize some of these things such as Amtrak which is a government owned entity, the Interstate Hwy System, Federal Aviation Authority to name a few. The railroad went from privately owned to government owned.  Amtrak is the ONLY passenger train/rail in the country and it is owned by the Federal government.

7. Extension of factories and instruments of production owned by the state, the bringing into cultivation of waste lands, and the improvement of the soil generally in accordance with a common plan.

Again, too many to list here, but we can begin with all the bailouts for the auto industry beginning with GM. But other aspects could be found under The Desert Entry Act and The Department of Agriculture, Department of Commerce and Labor, Department of Interior, the Environmental Protection Agency, Bureau of Land Management, Bureau of Reclamation, Bureau of Mines, National Park Service, and the IRS control of business through corporate regulations.

8. Equal liability of all to labor. Establishment of industrial armies, especially for agriculture.

Clearly the power of Labor Unions, the fact the President receives substantial amounts of money from Unions, Unions ( along with Soros) financing of Occupy Wall Street groups, and their unrelenting presence in the workplace all represent the 8th tenant. There is the Department of Labor, Woman in the workplace since the 1920’s, the 19th amendment of the U.S. Constitution, the Civil Rights Act of 1964, assorted Socialist Unions, affirmative action, the Federal Public Works Program and of course Executive order 11000. Again, so much of this has been in the news with the WI elections and other state issues where the President attempts to use his powers to overstep and mandate all aspects of the American people.

9. Combination of agriculture with manufacturing industries, gradual abolition of the distinction between town and country, by a more equitable distribution of population over the country.

One of the largest government owned power companies is the Tennessee Valley Authority (http://www.tva.gov/ ) which clearly defines socialism at its finest. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) also supports the idea of socialism by forcing business to comply with more stringent restrictions in the form of cap and trade and by mandating the purchase of carbon credits.

10. Free education for all children in public schools.

Ah the public education system, I could go on for decades here, but one example would be when the government decides what a child needs over the parent, for example what children should eat, (Michelle Obama). Another would be tenure with teachers. It is ridiculous how these teachers cannot be fired. Let’s not forget how the government has removed any form of Christianity (Christmas Vacation now Winter break etc), altered the Pledge of Allegiance, while turning a blind eye to teaching about Islam, as well as moral issues disguised under the word “tolerance.”

John Dummett or Mitt Romney: Freedom or Appeasement

I am Awake

My opposition to Mitt Romney has drawn a great deal of criticism from a variety of people.  It seems my vote is the only one in the nation that actually counts.  While that is flattering in one respect I find it rather disingenuous in another respect.  Why is it that my refusal to vote for the lesser of two evils is the only factor in the destruction of our once great nation?  I find more than enough reasons to refuse to vote for Mitty the Poo, the all-white Obama, based on my Christian faith and Mitty’s propensity to deny his faith in almost everything he stands for politically.

I have a great faith in the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob to carry me through whatever evil comes my way.  To me, voting isn’t a question of voting for the one who is less dangerous than the other.  My vote is based on what I believe God would have me do, on the standards set by Him and recorded in the Holy Bible.  I will vote based on who I believe to be in compliance with God’s Word and the Constitution of the United States of America, a document written by men who took much of the content from biblical principles and guidelines.

Mitty the Poo, the all-white Obama claims to be a Christian man, a Mormon.  I don’t care which church he is affiliated with, that is not my concern.  My concerns about Mitty go so much deeper.  How can a man who proclaims to be a Christian support abortion on demand?  God’s Word says that he “knew us before we were even in the womb”.  Does that not accentuate the idea of life at conception to a Christian?  I understand that there are cases that can be made for abortion in instances of rape, but that is not where Mitty stands on the issue.  How can a “conservative Christian” support the joke of the “gay rights” issue?  I don’t agree that homosexuals should be hung from the nearest tree but I don’t believe they should be given special rights not afforded to the rest of us either, and neither does God’s Word.  How can a man who claims to believe in the Constitution not believe in the rights of We the People to keep and bear arms as stated in the Second Amendment?  How can a conservative candidate support Obamacare, a travesty that Mitty actually authored and has supported for several years?

God’s Word tells us to stand strong on biblical principles and to live our lives by His core values.  People who will vote for Mitty out of fear of Obama are neither putting their faith in God, nor their trust in His “divine providence”.

Voting out of fear brought Adolph Hitler to power in Germany.  People feared another stint with the Weimar Republic and voted in a guy who promised to “fundamentally transform” Germany.  We are facing the same situation today.  People fear what Obama will do in a second term, rightfully so, but are not looking at the other choice realistically.  The mantra is “anyone but Obama, as long as it is Mitty”, and discounting any other option.

I will not vote for Mitty the Poo, the all-white Obama in November.  I WILL NOT COMPLY with the party-line “vote for our guy because he isn’t quite as dangerous as the other guy” mentality.  You see, I find Mitty to be just as dangerous as Obama in many respects.  In addition to the items listed earlier, Mitty also has been bought and paid for by George Soros and the New World Order cabal.  In case you haven’t heard, Soros has publicly endorsed Mitty as the best candidate for the Republican Party.  That is enough on its own merit to stop me from voting for him, but isn’t the only reason I stand on.  I hear people make a big deal out of the Olympics and how Mitty “saved” the event.  What people are surprised to learn when I mention it is that Mitty “saved” the Olympics with $450 million federal tax dollars given to him by George W. Bush.  This same money was denied to Mitty’s predecessor.  I find that rather curious.  If the money was insignificant to the treasury but vital to the Olympics, why wasn’t the money given to the first guy, and who did this money actually go to?  And when you go look at how he balanced the state budget without tax increases you will find a substantial “federal tax donation” to the state treasury.

I will cast my vote for a man who I believe will actually stand up to the New World Order globalists and defend the Constitution of the United States of America, and We the People, against all enemies foreign and domestic. I want a President I can believe will do what is right, not just “hope” he will do what is right.

Voting for the lesser of two evils and hoping for a better candidate next time is not the answer.  I heard that, and bought into it, many years ago.  I voted for Bob Dole, one of the worst candidates that has ever run for the office of President of the United States, but he was “better than the alternative and we could get a better candidate the next time around”.  It worked once because we wound up with Ronald Reagan but hasn’t worked out so well since then.  I bought it again four years ago when I voted for the McCain/Palin Republican Party ticket.  I actually voted for Sarah Palin, hoping they would win and McCain would die of a heart attack the next day and leave Palin as the President.  I think that much of John McCain, and I remember how Mitty ran second to McCain in 2008.  Four years ago Mitty was less conservative than John McCain but now he is miraculously the most conservative candidate available?  Naw, I’m not buying the same 3 legged horse again.

My vote will be cast for John Albert Dummett (www.johndummett.us), as a write-in candidate if necessary.  Wasting my vote?  Voting for Obama?  Insuring Obama gets a second term?  NOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!  I am exercising the discernment given to me by God and casting my vote for the man who will follow God’s Word and the Constitution rather than voting out of fear of another Obama term.  I will vote for a man who will put what is best for the nation ahead of what is best for his cronies and the New World Order globalist cabal that so many of the Washington “elite” cater to.

I also hear the “he can’t win” line from people I talk to, and undoubtedly will hear the same from many who read this article.  Can’t win?  Why can’t he win?  He “can’t win” because of all of the people in America who would rather vote for evil out of fear of the other evil running.  Mitty the Poo doesn’t really have any support from conservative voters, and certainly not TEA Party people.  If everyone who will vote for Mitty out of the fear of another four years of Obama would vote for John Dummett it would be a slam dunk win for conservative values, for God’s values, and for We the People.  More importantly, it would be a victory for our children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

We can never regain our freedom by voting for the lesser of two evils.  We the People can only win if we have the courage of our founding fathers.  I wonder how many people said George Washington could never beat the British, armed with the strongest army and the strongest navy in the world at the time.  I wonder how many people cheered Neville Chamberlain when he came back from Europe with a paper signed by Adolph Hitler that guaranteed “peace in our time”, a peace “guaranteed” by selling Czechoslovakia to Hitler?  I wonder how many people were joyous of the pact signed between Hitler and Stalin that prevented Germany from invading Russia in World War II.  Oh, wait a minute; don’t I remember reading that something went wrong there?

Signing contracts, including voting, with evil out of fear of a greater evil is not in the best interests of anyone, particularly the future of our nation.  Our Republic is gone and nearly to the point of no return.  We now live under a dictatorial oligarchy and are in danger of finding ourselves living under a tyranny akin to that of Nazi Germany, Soviet Russia, Cuba, North Korea, Iran, Venezuela, China, and many other repressive governments.

If you don’t have the courage to stand up for freedom now when will you find that courage?   Will you stand and fight when they come for your bible, your guns, your food, or your home?  Will you fight when they come to round your family up to be sent to the FEMA camps, also authorized under a Republican president and Congress?  Or will you simply pack your one allowed suitcase and trod off to the slaughterhouse like the Jews did in Nazi Germany?  Those willing to bow to tyranny out of fear now will not be willing to stand up for freedom when things get much worse.  The Secret Service has already tried to intimidate Ted Nugent into submission over his remarks at the NRA convention a few weeks ago.

John Dummett (www.johndummett.us ) has received visits from the FBI, found his e-mail suddenly and mysteriously shut down, his computers hacked, and is receiving death threats.  This is only the beginning.  Those who believe things will be better under Mitty need to look at the last “conservative”/moderate president we elected.  This “conservative”/moderate, along with a Republican Congress, and in addition to the FEMA camps, gave us the “Patriot” Act, Homeland Security, and the TSA.  The last conservative/moderate Republican president did more to destroy our freedom than Bill Clinton.  That “conservative”/moderate was George W. Bush.

Now is not the time to compromise with evil.  Now is the time to stand up for freedom and vote for a man who is offering us a truly conservative platform.  People who say I am wasting my vote or voting for Obama are wrong.  Those voting out of fear of another Obama term are the ones wasting their votes.  I am voting from a positive position, voting for a man I believe will follow through with what he promises and give us a presidency we can once again be proud of.  I am voting for freedom now, not the hope that “someday” we will have an acceptable Republican candidate who will truly stand up for the values of God and our founding fathers.

Today, more than ever, we need a staunch conservative voice in the White House.  We need more staunch conservative voices in Congress.  John McCain, Orin Hatch, Mitch McConnell, Lindsey Graham, John Boehner, Eric Cantor, and the others who routinely ignore the Constitution in favor of Barack Obama, Harry Reid, and Nancy Pelosi are not leaders.  They are only interested in currying favor with despots to keep their seat in the back of Obama’s tyranny bus.  All of the dictatorships I listed earlier have their parliaments or congresses but they are only rubber stamps of a dictator, men and women who will do whatever they have to do to keep their seats of power, wealth, and prestige.

We can no longer afford to vote out of fear.  Our nation is teetering on the brink of outright dictatorship and appeasing despots never works out well for the pawns in the appeasement.  We the People must show the courage of our founding fathers and those who have sacrificed their lives to preserve our freedom over the last 236 years.  Voting for Mitty the Poo is appeasement, trying to curry favor with New World Order globalists who have nothing more than their own power.  Voting for John Albert Dummett is a vote for freedom now and in the future.

Taking the Constitution on Offense

Last week, Misfit Politics posted a video tribute to honor the passing of Andrew Breitbart.  In it, Brandon Morse said that, for the first time ever conservatism is going on the offense… and he couldn’t be more right.  Over the last few years we’ve learned a few things and gotten organized.  All you have to do now is talk to a few conservatives or libertarians and you can feel the energy coming from them.

The problem is, as conservatives we are often put in the position of defending the Constitution, the Declaration of Independence, and the ideas of our Founding Fathers.  Any time you are defending your position you aren’t gaining ground.

If you want to learn how to take conservative ideas on offense, let Calvin Coolidge give you an example of how to destroy progressive ideas:

“About the Declaration there is a finality that is exceedingly restful.  It is often asserted that the world has made a great deal of progress since 1776, that we have had new thoughts and new experiences which have given us a great advance over the people of that day, and that we may therefore very well discard their conclusions for something more modern.  But that reasoning can not be applied to this great charter.  If all men are created equal, that is final.  If they are endowed with inalienable rights, that is final.  If governments derive their just powers from the consent of the governed, that is final.  No advance, no progress can be made beyond these propositions.  If anyone wishes to deny their truth or their soundness, the only direction in which he can proceed historically is not forward, but backward toward the time when there was no equality, no rights of the individual, no rule of the people.  Those who wish to proceed in that direction cannot lay any claim to progress.  They are reactionary.  Their ideas are not more modern, but more ancient, than those of the Revolutionary fathers.”

Calvin Coolidge – July 5, 1926

There you go – the next time some fool starts attacking our principles or the Founders it’s time to go to on offense.  Ask this person, “Ok, what exactly about our principles is outdated – are all men not created equal?”  This person will try to redirect the conversation from this question because – more than likely – he was initially just repeating something some campaign talking point or something his college professor told him.  But don’t let him off the hook – remember, you’re on offense here.  Demand an answer to that question.  Then move on to the others.  Do we not all have equal rights?  Are the people not the source of political power?

Coolidge nailed it in this quote – there is no moving beyond these three principles that make up the foundation of our country.  Everything that progressives want to do moves us away from one of these principles in some way.  We must force them to defend this ground if we want to move the debate in a positive direction.

Here’s one example of how it works: progressives want to take property away from some people in order to give it to others who progressives feel are more deserving.  As President Obama would say, “At a certain point, you’ve made enough money.”  This is where you go on offense.  Ok, at exactly what point in the income scale do you forfeit your property rights?  So we don’t have equal rights to keep property we’ve earned?  Who will be taking these rights away?  I thought our rights came from God.  And on and on.

This is ground that the progressives simply cannot defend.  Remember – as long as they are on defense they cannot gain ground.

If you are a person who loves freedom, it’s time to get to work.. and it’s time to go on offense.  Liberty is not for those who are willing to sit back and allow others to make decisions for them.  Liberty is earned by people who are willing to be eternally vigilant in its defense.

On that same day in 1926, Calvin Coolidge described the type of people we need to be if we want to preserve our freedom:

“The American Revolution represented the informed and mature convictions of a great mass of independent, liberty-loving, God-fearing people who knew their rights, and possessed the courage to dare to maintain them.”

For decades now many conservatives – myself included – have had the option of paying lip service to how much they love their rights and their liberty without consequence.  Those days are over.  Our rights and our liberty are currently under a direct assault.  The time has come to make a decision – do you have the courage to maintain them?

Desperately Needed: Courage in America

In two previous articles we looked at the way the media is brainwashing American citizens into accepting tyranny and what can be done to stop the trend. Ben Kinchlow wrote a very interesting and on target article talking about the media and their methods of subjugating We the People using brainwashing techniques.

We don’t have to continue down this road of apathy and acceptance that is taking us to tyranny, poverty, and slavery. We can stand up and take our country back but it will require courage on our part. It takes courage to stand up for freedom but what is courage?

The 56 men who signed the Declaration of Independence showed a great deal of courage. If the colonies had lost the war they would have all been rounded up and executed. They knew the chance they were taking by putting their names on that document; it was there for the entire world to see. There was no hiding, no way to excuse what they had done, no turning back once they had signed. They knew what they were doing and that their lives were in the balance. These men showed just as much courage as those who faced the muskets, bayonets, and cannons of the British army. Our founding fathers had the courage of their convictions. They knew what freedom meant and they knew what it would take to have that freedom. They pledged “their lives, their fortunes, and their Sacred Honor” to the cause of freedom, not only for themselves but for generations to come.

Courage isn’t just facing death on the battlefield. Courage is also standing in the face of ridicule and derision. Courage is standing for a cause when there is seemingly so much opposition and so little support. Courage is standing in the face of hopeless defeat and saying; “Not here, not now, not on my watch”. Courage is being a leader, not sitting back where it is “safe”. Our founding fathers showed courage. Most of them never stepped foot on a battlefield yet showed the same courage as those who fought throughout the Revolutionary War, and in subsequent wars.

Today we face a tyranny similar to that of King George III. We face a Congress and an occupant of the White House, King Barack I, who ignore the very document these men so courageously gave to us, The Constitution of the United States of America. We face a media apparatus complicit in the denial of our basic freedoms. It is up to We the People to rectify the media and politician problem with knowledge and courage.

Seeing the problem is a key component, but knowledge without action is useless. If fear of the future and the acquiescence to tyranny is acceptable, you will never know a better life, only a decaying future fraught with tyranny, poverty, and slavery. When enough people have the moral strength and courage to break from the template and refuse to accept what is happening to us we will win. On that day we will see victory over those who are slipping our freedom out from under our very feet.

John Dummett and Tim Cox , both mentioned in the previous article, are two of the leaders out there trying to make a difference. One is running for office, the other is recruiting grassroots people to run for Congress, and people to help them. John is ignored by the media while taking on Barack Obama’s eligibility, but still he continues in his quest for the truth. Restoring the Constitution and the freedom it affords is his number one goal. Where does your favorite mainstream presidential candidate stand on this issue?

There are others trying to save this republic. Some run for office, others do campaign and organizing work in their communities, many more make calls for support of candidates, some give financial support, and all of us can vote for freedom or accept tyranny. We have good people at the grassroots level within the Republican Party trying to regain control for We the People. The leaders are out there. They need the support of those of us who profess to want a real alternative. Here is that alternative. You can pick up the gauntlet and earn your freedom or you can sit back and accept less and less until you accept tyranny, poverty, and slavery.

Will you be part of a future of freedom or will you sit back and accept the inevitable future being painted by the media and their political allies? Will you accept the life afforded by a dictator who promises you everything but delivers only what HE decides you need; or will you take a stand for a future of freedom, self-determination, personal responsibility, and prosperity?

The Constitution offers opportunity for those who will have it. The media, along with Democrat and Republican establishment political machines, offer a mediocre promise that will never be kept. You can stand for freedom now or bow to tyrants later. If you can’t see that by now I don’t know what else to tell you. We can no longer buy into nor participate in the hype. We cannot compromise the Constitution, and the future of freedom, by voting for the lesser of two evils.

At this time I am hard at work from within the Republican Party, trying to help those who would return the party to We the People. It can be done but it will take a commitment from people who have the courage to step outside the box and stand up for freedom. In this case it truly “takes a village”. Will you meekly vote, out of fear, for what the establishment offers you or will you stand for true freedom from elitist tyranny? Are you willing to be a part of the village that restores our nation to the vision of our founding fathers? Do you have the courage to stand in the face of ridicule, threats, and mockery to save the future of your nation? Will you step outside the box and support a dark horse or will you submit to the party establishment, accept their offer of “this or else”, and continue on a course towards slavery and tyranny?

If you wait to act until you don’t have any other choice you have already lost, our republic will be lost. Waiting until we are forced to fight for our lives is not courage, it is animal survival. A cornered animal isn’t a brave animal, it is a desperate one. Being cornered and desperate isn’t the way to fight this battle. The final door to the trap won’t shut until we are all the way in. You don’t have to continue walking into the trap; you can stop at the door and say NO!!! John Dummett and Tim Cox are two men who offer us a real alternative. Will you take them up on their offer or will you continue into tyranny, poverty, and slavery?

I submit this in the name of the Most Holy Trinity, in faith, with the responsibility given to me by Almighty God to honor His work and not let it die from neglect.
