Since Barack Obama has said he is going to send federal agents into Oklahoma and other states to enforce Obamacare, what is there to make me believe he won’t send federal agents in to enforce his gun registration/confiscation scheme? If he “dictates” an executive order that I have to turn in or register any weapons and I refuse, who is going to enforce that dictate? If Congress decrees that I cannot own particular types of weapons or magazines and I refuse to comply, who is going to enforce it?

In his E/O decree on Obamacare he essentially said the states have no right to oppose the federal government, that the federal government has the final say, PERIOD!!!, he is the ultimate authority of the land http://www.thenewamerican.com/usnews/constitution/item/14892-obama-admin-ignores-nullification-federal-agents-will-enforce-obamacare . Our Declaration of Independence and Constitution say different!!! Obama and his “Gangs of ??????” in Congress, both political parties, see themselves as rulers rather than servants of We the People.

Back to: “Who is going to confiscate my weapons and any accessories they say I cannot have”? Is Obama going to send his DHS Gestapo thugs to attack me and those of like mind? Will he use the purse of the federal government to pay state police to invade my home, shoot me, and steal my private property? Will the state team up with the local sheriff and/or police department to kick in my door in the middle of the night and shoot me in my bed like happened to a man a few days ago in Auburn, Washington? http://www.prisonplanet.com/justified-uniformed-invaders-shoot-a-man-16-times-in-his-bed.html

Do I have to worry about the government kicking in my door because I exercise my rights as written in the Constitution? Will I wake up in the middle of the night and find masked men in military garb at my door with automatic weapons, face masks, body armor head to toe, and an armored personnel carrier; all there with the intent to arrest me for violating a law that is clearly unConstitutional?

Some say I am paranoid, a fear monger, and a “radical right wing extremist”, for asking these questions. I’m none of those things. I am a patriot who believes in the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the right to live by both as our founders intended. I am a citizen who sees rampant abuse of the Constitution by those we elect to uphold and defend said Constitution.

We see incidents like these I list becoming the rule rather than the exception. Police dressed head to toe in military garb, face hoods, and body armor are taking a “shoot first and ask questions later” attitude in everyday contacts with people. In California SWAT teams, also dressed in military uniforms and equipment, are rounding up firearms from those who have been “deemed” to now possess firearms illegally. No court hearings, no due process, just a kicked in door and shots fired if resisted.

And what about the http://tightwind.net/2012/04/autopsy-suggests-man-shot-by-ny-police-did-not-threaten-them/ 68 year old man shot over his medical alert bracelet being accidentally activated? Need I go on? There are literally pages of incidents where police and/or SWAT teams have needlessly shot citizens, many fatally.

During the Chris Dorner incident police riddled two different vehicles with bullets without bothering to find out who was in the vehicle before opening fire. One vehicle contained a white man who was uninjured (Dorner was black). The other vehicle contained two Hispanic women, one elderly, and both of whom were wounded. In both cases they were in pickup trucks that were nowhere near the description given of the truck Dorner was reported to be driving. It seemed that merely being in a truck at that time in California was enough to get one shot by police. Why should I believe those with the same attitude won’t just shoot me out of convenience?

Those who call me paranoid or a fear monger must see the same things I see, or do they? What do the naysayers think about the Marine who was shot to death in a 2011 Gestapo style “drug” raid that found nothing illegal? They shot this veteran 60 times in his own home without so much as identifying themselves, and then let him lay there for over an hour while they ransacked the house to no avail. If you naysayers will look at the link to this story you will find it is from the Huffington Post, hardly a “vast right wing conspiracy” publication. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/05/25/jose-guerena-arizona-_n_867020.html

How can people see what is going on every day and say it can’t/won’t happen here? Why not? How does one see DHS arming itself to the teeth without wondering why they need such armaments? Who are they going to use this military hardware on? At the same time, politicians at all levels and in both political parties are breaking their necks to disarm citizens. If we are all defenseless why do they need armored vehicles and automatic weapons with billions of rounds of ammunition? It is as if those in political office don’t believe in the vision of the founding fathers.

Those who say it won’t or can’t happen here are living in a dream world, one that will turn into a nightmare before their very eyes. There were many who said it couldn’t happen in Germany, but it did. Hundreds of thousands of Jews left Germany when they saw the steps Hitler was taking. Some went to other European countries and were eventually rounded up when German forces conquered Europe. Some came to the United States and contributed to the defeat of the Axis Powers. Some came here to live normal working class lives and survived the Holocaust that killed 6 million of their people.

We hear stories from people who have experienced tyranny in Nazi Germany and Soviet Russia yet many Americans thumb their nose at those who know from first-hand experience what life is like in totalitarian societies. Those who deny what is obvious will suffer when the shoe of tyranny drops, and they will deserve what they get. They won’t be the only ones to suffer, however. An entire nation will lose the liberty won and preserved with the blood of millions of patriots. It certainly won’t give me any pleasure to say “I told you so”, assuming I survive the initial attack.

Most of us don’t have a choice but to stay and fight for our future. Some can move to countries that don’t have despots and wanna-be dictators running them but they won’t be safe there for long once America falls. When we are gone as the “shining city on a hill” it won’t be long before the rest of the world is subjected to the same tyranny we saw in 1930’s Germany.

According to the Constitution I am part of the defensive militia of America. If the government was following the Constitution they would be arming me and my neighbors instead of a DHS force that has no Constitutional authority to operate inside the United States. What is the point of disarming the citizens and arming a federal police force to the teeth with military style equipment? What possible justification do they have for this? Who do they plan to fight with all of this hardware? We are far gone from the vision of our founders.

I submit this in the name of the Most Holy Trinity, in faith, with the responsibility given to me by Almighty God to honor His work and not let it die from neglect.

Lady Liberty: A beacon of freedom the entire world sees. A symbol of a better way of life anchored in liberty, opportunity and equal protection under the law.

Inspiring yes, but that is not the entire story.

Lady Liberty also stands as a reminder to America that the the American way of life is why people have come to this country for centuries.

What the world is currently witnessing is the collapse of the European socialist economic model; the failure of government dependency. As more people become dependent on government, fewer people are left to pay the cost.

But it goes beyond simply spending other people’s money. The socialist entitlement mentality makes people less productive. As more and more people become less and less productive, an ever-smaller minority of productive people become responsible for shouldering the burdens of a completely lopsided, unfair system. When a tiny number of productive people are required to deprive themselves of the fruits of their own labor in order to finance the lives of the remaining population, where is the incentive for them to produce?

If that is not enough, reliance on a big government nanny state makes people less responsible for themselves; less self-reliant. That is the antithesis of the American way of life.

When European settlers colonized the New World, they left the security of Europe behind in favor of North America’s unknown wilderness. They left homes, family, friends and country in exchange for an opportunity to build better lives for themselves. They were freed from the constraints of Europe’s restrictive class system. They openly rejected the European way by their leaving.

When the British Monarchy deemed to re-impose that system on Britain’s thirteen North American Colonies, that attempt was adamantly and thoroughly rejected. Hence: the Declaration of Independence, the American Revolution and the founding of the United States of America.

When America’s pioneers ventured forth to traverse the Great Plains and cross the Rocky Mountains they were completely self-reliant. They took care of themselves. They did not have, want, or need a big nanny state government to take care of them from cradle to grave.

This is the stuff of which America is made.

Because it gives them control over “the masses”, “progressives” have long sought to fashion America after the European socialist model, to make Americans more government dependent. There was FDR with the New Deal and Social Security. LBJ gave America the Great Society, Welfare Programs and Medicare. Then, Obama forced upon an unwilling America the crown jewel of European style socialism; government controlled medicine.

Every time “progressives” hold a press conference they sound exactly the way they have always sounded: they inherited the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression. Their policies are working, but need more time. Congress needs to quit stalling and enact more of their policies. The private sector is doing fine but to grow the economy government needs to spend more money to create more government jobs at the state and local level.

Repeatedly, “progressives” show exactly how out of touch they are with the private sector, how the American economy works, the lessons of American history and the nature of America’s people.

Europe will not work in America. Neither will out of touch narcissists who insist on imposing a long rejected European system upon America.

It is time for Americans to reject the following proposal, long foisted upon America by the self-imagined, self-appointed, “progressive” intellectual elite:

We, the government, are your lords and masters. You will do as we say, not as we do. For we are the enlightened “progressives” and you are but melting pot bitter clingers.

Congress has apparently raised the dead, because The Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act – better known as CISPA – has been reintroduced in Congress, yet again, by Representative Mike Rogers, a Republican from Michigan’s 8th District.

CISPA was introduced in the 112th Congress (H.R. 3523) and passed the House of Representatives with 42 of the 190 Democrats voting AYE, and 206 of the 241 Republicans voting AYE – including some of the so-called “conservative” members expressing support, such as Michele Bachmann, Allen West, Jason Chaffetz, Steve King, and others.

This time, CISPA is known as H.R. 624.

So, what’s the problem with CISPA?

Michelle Richardson of TheHill.com outlined the problems last year:

There are numerous privacy problems with CISPA, which remain even if the five so-called privacy amendments orchestrated by the sponsors are adopted. First, the very definition of what can be shared is incredibly broad, and includes sensitive and private information such as the content of emails or a person’s Internet use history. Companies are not required to even make an effort to disentangle sensitive but unnecessary information from the technical and useful data that government might really need.

Sponsor of the CISPA bill, Congressman Mike Rogers (R-MI8)

Second, the bill allows companies to choose which government agency to share the information with, including the National Security Agency or other element of the Department of Defense. It is a long-held American value that the military doesn’t operate on U.S. soil against Americans, and allowing the NSA and DOD to collect information on average Americans turns that value on its head. All domestic programs must be run by civilian agencies. And finally, CISPA offers few limitations on what can be done with the information that the government ultimately collects.

Even the Obama administration opposes the bill due in part to its privacy infringements. Yes, the administration that fought for the reauthorization of the Patriot Act and is now lobbying for an extension of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) Amendments Act has balked at CISPA.

America is the greatest nation in the world. I hate to think what this world would be like without America. Just look back in history. If America wasn’t around, the whole world might be speaking German right now. And that’s only one example. America has come to the aid of many countries over the years. We have given aid to so many people around the world. This country has done so much for freedom around the world that I truly believe that the world would be in bloody chaos if it were not for the good old U.S. Of A. Our people have fought and died all over the world so that other people can enjoy just some of the many freedoms we enjoy ourselves. Throughout history, America has been a beacon to people all around the world. We have come through the Revolutionary war, our Civil War, two world wars, and are now in what many people think is our biggest fight of all. The war on terrorism is what many people think is world war III, and I have to agree. Terrorism is definitely a world threat, and must be fought wherever the terrorists are hiding. Like all other wars, we are fighting so we can be free. If anything is worth fighting for, it is definitely freedom.

FREEDOM: (Merriam-Webster on line)

The quality or state of being free.

a) The absence of necessity, coercion, or constraint in choice or action

b) Liberation from slavery or restraint or from the power of another

c) The quality or state of being exempt or released, usually from something onerous.

d) The quality of being frank, open or outspoken.

e) Boldness of conception

f) Unrestricted use.

g) Total absence of restraint, to merely a sense of not being unduly hampered or frustrated.

Those definitions of freedom are what Americans have fought and died for, for so manyyears. It seems ironic that the very thing we have fought and died for over the years, is the very thing that is destroying our society today.

My father once told me that too much of anything is not good for you. Moreover, I believe this also applies to freedom. It seems that we have so much freedom in this country, that we are headed into an ‘anything goes’ society. And when you have an anything goes society, chaos and anarchy is sure to follow.

Over the years the rules of society have just gotten more lax. And once you get to where we are as a people, it’s hard to take back what you already have given. Remember the old saying, “give them an inch, and they’ll take a mile”. Each time society gets a little more liberal, there is always another window to go through. When are we as a people going to say, enough is enough, and put our foot down? And say ‘that’s it’. I, as an individual, have already come to that point. I cannot believe this is the same country that I grew up in. I was born in 1952. I am a baby boomer. And I feel now like I think the cowboys of the old west must have felt when civilization moved west. Men that lived in the late 1800’s that moved into the new century, and found themselves in a different new world that they didn’t understand. Like the Margret Mitchell novel, their whole way of life was gone with the wind. However, I guess that’s what progress is all about.

A society has to have parameters, certain rules that keep us a strong society, a moral society and a just society. Over the years, I have watched as our society started to crumble because those same parameters have been crumbling. We have had a Constitution in this country since 1776, why in all that time did no one think to walk around naked in public, now around the country in the name of freedom, they walk around naked. God was once our cornerstone as a society, now in the name of freedom he is mocked, ridiculed and defaced. Parents used to raise and protect their kids the way they thought was right, Now in the name of freedom, a school can give a girl birth control pills without telling the parents. Right or wrong, it does not matter what people do anymore, because it is their right.

It appears to me, as we have broken down those parameters, we have lost our country, freedom without parameters and common sense is crumbling our society and we sit and ignore it all in the name of freedom.

This is one man’s opinion.

Well, John Boehner took time out from his latest sob-fest to come out with promises that he is going to “do things differently now”, he “has learned his lesson”. We are hearing to same old tired rhetoric we heard before the 2010 mid-term elections. Didn’t he come into the Speaker’s chair promising to “drain the swamp”, to use Nancy Pelosi’s famous lie? Didn’t Boehner say that Republicans have “learned our lessons” and would “do things differently if given a chance”, uh, as in 3 years ago? So, in 2009/2010 they had learned their lessons and now in 2013 they have learned their lessons? Which lessons have they learned this time or is this just more of the same tired old B S coming from the royalty in Washington D.C.? To quote the late great Gen. Norman Schwarzkopf, this is just more “Bovine Scatology”.

Boehner is as predictable as Obama because they are two of a kind. The only real difference in them is one is a dictator and the other is his lackey, and it isn’t difficult to figure out which is which. We the People are hearing the same post-election crap we heard two years ago and it is just as hollow now as it was then. Rush Limbaugh was talking about the economy and where the wealth of the nation resides a few days ago. He commented that Washington D.C. is now one of, if not THE, richest area codes in the nation. Isn’t that interesting? They don’t have a housing crisis, they don’t have an unemployment crisis, and they don’t seem to be feeling any ill-effects of the economy what-so-ever.

We have Obama, Reid, McConnell, Pelosi, and Boehner making all of the real decisions in our government and they are owned by the same people. They make deals behind closed doors and tell the rank and file members how they will vote. Of course, there are exceptions made for those who need cover on an issue so they can get re-elected in 2 years. Remember the “Blue-Dog Democrats” who voted for Heath Schuler for Speaker in 2008 and voted against Obamacare in 2009? Remember the famous meeting at the White House where Rep. Bart Stupak got a “signed promise” from Obama that abortion on demand would not be a part of Obamacare in trade for his vote? Remember all the pomp and circumstance of Stupak waving that worthless piece of paper around to justify his traitorous act? Remember how Stupak claimed victory and then retired to live on $174,000 per year, plus expenses, for life? Have you seen Obamacare? Abortion managed to get covered despite the lofty promise Stupak sold his soul for.

“Just words” bites us once again. These tyrannical liars have no intention of ever allowing WE the People to have the liberty won and preserved for us by generations of patriots. The Republican Party is trying to leap-frog the Democrats when it comes to playing “Santa Claus” and in the process has abandoned everything the party used to stand for, including the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence.

These people and their henchmen are merely fighting over the spoils of tyranny. Who will get the biggest piece of the pie of dictatorship? Obama is Hugo Chavez/Adolf Hitler but who will John Boehner be? Is he looking for the part of Himmler? NO, that has to go to Dingy Harry Reid!! What role is Mitch McConnell interested in having? He certainly doesn’t have any interest in playing the part of Dietrich Bonheoffer. I guess Boehner and McConnell can share the role of von Hindenburg, the man who caved to Hitler’s demands and handed him the position of Chancellor in spite of knowing what that meant for his “constituents”.

Every president since Reagan has grown government, including both George Bushes. It doesn’t seem to matter how the parties divide the legislative pie, their pie always grows and the pie for the peasants dwindles. Republican president, Republican Congress; Republican president, Democrat Congress; Democrat president, Republican Congress; Democrat president, Democrat Congress; one party in control of any two of the three; where are the true differences? What has either party done when in complete control to benefit the prosperity and liberty of American citizens?

In the 2012 elections the Republican Party actually opposed Richard Murdoch and Todd Akin, preferring to support liberal Democrats over TEA Party conservatives. Oddly enough the Democrat senate nominee facing Republican Bob Corker in Tennessee faced the very same action from his party because he denounced abortion on demand and “gay rights”.

This paragraph is important to understand so read carefully, please. We had three candidates here in 2012 races, all espousing conservative values, limited government, and personal responsibility. They didn’t all belong to the same political party yet they were treated exactly the same by their own party when espousing the very same values. Anyone want to explain the differences between the Democrat and Republican parties?

And to add icing to the cake, The Traitor John Boehner, in his speech at the freshman orientation, told the new members of the House of Representatives that they are there to resolve “the issues of the day” not to represent their constituents (http://www.businessinsider.com/boehner-reelected-speaker-speech-house-text-2013-1?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+businessinsider+%28Business+Insider%29). If you will read the text, notice the next to last paragraph and compare it to the audio. Pay particular attention to what Boehner says beginning at the 5:15 mark of the audio. The press release of the article added the word “just” to what Boehner actually said. That one word changes the entire statement and tone of his remarks. This is merely cover for his tyrannical speech in which he told new members that if they are there to represent their constituents the door is in the back of the room. Is this what we expect our “representatives” in government to believe?

Is it any wonder our nation is in the condition we find it today? Is this representation or is this organized crime/totalitarianism posing as representation? King George III wasn’t any worse than the bunch we have running government today. If find it deeply troubling, and actually scary, that this is what our future holds for us. There is no representation in Washington to speak of. The United States of America is no longer a Republic. The nation so many have died to establish and preserve has become nothing more than a Third World dictatorial oligarchy. We the People do not matter. If we stand on the documents established by our founders we are labeled “enemies of the state” by both political parties. The Declaration of Independence and Constitution are considered “old and out of date documents”, as is the Holy Bible.

There are some in Congress who actually care about the Constitution and us “commoners” but they are few and far between. And remember what happened to Huelskamp and Amash for having the temerity to represent their constituents instead of the party line. The political bosses and their lobbyist K Street handlers have such a hold on everything that We the People are merely cannon fodder in the true battle going on in Washington, the battle for who gets the biggest piece of the pie of tyranny. What really matters to most in government is grabbing a bigger piece of the power pie with no regard at all for those of us who pay the bills. Our national symbol should be a different bird than the bald eagle. It should be the Buzzard of Tyranny, one bird with two wings; Republican and Democrat.

“Doc, send my uniform to my mom. She’ll fix ‘em for me,” once said, was all the breathe that young soldier had left in him.

Major Daniels honored that soldier’s last request. He and a sergeant removed the uniform in silence. They set the pants and top across chair backs to let the blood dry out. It would take some time to let that much of a soak be ready for sending to the soldier’s mother.

No one wanted to believe in war. So untouched as the country was by it for so long. Sure, soldiers came home from war all the time. Plenty of conflicts and fighting, over there. But in the streets and towns of America, no, who would have thought so?

But it happened anyway. While plucking at the rose petals of freedom, the Federals had finally grasped a thorn. Once orders were given to use armed drones on citizens within the States all hell broke loose.

There were minor militias in the field across the country for both sides. Federal forces were of course the better armed and trained, in the beginning anyway. Militia backup for the federals were nothing but untrained, undisciplined thugs from the streets, looking to set their wrath upon anyone who got in the way. More in it for the pillaging ‘pay-back’ as they had been told all their lives they were due than any sense of preserving the union or patriotism. Blood was the currency.

In the Rebel ranks, all walks of life were there. Young, old. Rich, poor. Men and women. Everyone who knew what was at stake turned out in some way or another. Still, they were outnumbered. A war against them, generations in the planning had been let loose. From private to general though among the Rebel ranks, all knew it was a fight of winner-takes-all. Knowing what was at stake steeled spines as well as heated blood with courage enough to stand against those lopsided odds.

Her son’s funeral was a quiet affair. So many of her family were supports of the Federals, sending hateful letters to the mourning mother of how glad they were that her boy was dead: He was so stupid for fighting. Another brainwashed extremist as far as they were concerned, good riddance.

Those who weren’t there that loved the boy were already gone to fight or dead. As for the rest of the people who had known that young soldier, they didn’t have the time to worry about what was going on or to come to his funeral. No matter what happened those people didn’t care one way or the other, indifferent to anything other than what was on TV. As far as those kinds of people were concerned their lives were static. Nothing ever changed or would. Blissful indifference.

She stood there with her husband. He stood holding her, solid as a rock. Only his eyes told of the pain and anger ravaging within. Together the soldier’s parents stood over him, even after the grave was filled in and the workers left.

In the morning her husband left with a kiss. Rifle slung over his shoulder and a bag in hand. For a moment he stood looking back at his wife, his home of so many years. At the flag hung from his porch. Meeting his wife’s eyes- husband and wife-father and mother- both knew exactly what had to be done and were set about doing it.

Several days later a paper wrapped package came to her in the mail. Letters full of hate still came but had become a trickle. To each of those kinds of letters received she sent notes in response, notes of forgiveness. She did not return to those senders back their hate, but love instead. No easy task. She let her faith guide her pen strokes.

Feeling the softness beneath the paper wrapping she knew what was wrapped inside. Over the last year she had gotten several like it. Her son would send back uniforms and other things that needed to be mended. Some things were hard to come by anymore so an old fashioned approach was needed. Needle and thread. Frugality.

It was not her son’s handwriting on the paper she stared at from her chair at the dining room table. With great care she opened her last package of her son. She took up the uniform and sought the places to be mended.

Her heart was hard yet her fingers did their work. Threading the needle. Stitch by stitch. Her sons dried blood stained the fabric where she closed up holes. Bullet holes. Such small things.

She pricked a finger while at the last hole. One that would have been near to her son’s heart. She pressed the fingertip into the shirts stain, mixing hers and his together.

Laying out the clothes across her bed she went in to take a shower. There with the water in her face she cried aloud. Letter the spray wash away her tears as fast as they came. All that was held back against her heart she let free.

In the morning she stepped down her porch and walked to her car. She turned to look back, standing for a moment. She looked at the home she had lived for so many years. At the flag hanging from her porch. To the window upstairs that had been her son’s bedroom. A rifle slung over her shoulder and a uniform stained crimson in places scarred by careful stitches. She knew what needed to be done, and set about doing it.

Little by little, I have noticed that many freedoms are being taken away from us, but we do not seem to care; as a matter of fact, we seem to laugh and make light about it. I am not talking about big freedoms, but little things. But a freedom is a freedom, and it does not matter how small it might be. Many people do not realize that when the Government limits choice, it is limiting freedom; and that is exactly what it is doing today.

Everyone is probably aware that the Mayor of New York City Michael Bloomberg has banned sodas larger than 16 oz. Everyone I know says, that is ridiculous, we should be able to drink whatever size soda we want — after all, this is America. Bloomberg also indicated an interest in enforcing limits on other high-calorie foods like movie theater popcorn, coffee drinks and milkshakes.

So, we all talk about it, laugh a little and go on with our lives — it is forgotten about. Did you know that the Mayor also banned baby formula at hospitals, because he says breast-feeding is better for the baby? The hospital will still carry formula, but it will be kept under lock and key and forms must be filled out if the mother insists on using formula. He has also banned smoking on beaches or in the parks.

Why has he done all of this? Because HE says, it is better for us. We are too stupid and ignorant to think for ourselves, Government seems to know what is best for all people and they make sure they let us know about it. We once were the freest nation in the world — what happened to us? According to the Index of Economic Freedom, which is produced by the Heritage Foundation and the Wall Street Journal, the United States just barely makes it into the top ten: ranked number nine in the world.

Among the 179 countries examined in the Index, Hong Kong is ranked first, followed by Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, Switzerland, Canada, Ireland, and Denmark. These nations all outscored the U.S. across ten categories, including taxes, free trade, regulation, monetary policy, and corruption. The rights that Americans have lost over the years are just too many to fit on this page. I give small examples, but there are much bigger ones to be sure.

A while back in New Jersey, a couple had their son taken away by the state, because they named their child Adolph Hitler. Let me be clear, I would never name my kid that and I am sure you would not as well, but do we not live in America? Now, because the Government does not like a name, social workers can come in and take your child. What if the Government decided it do not like the name Olga, does that give the state the right to take your child? Where does it stop? We should be free to raise our children the way WE see fit, not the way the Government sees fit.

Every year there are new laws, new regulations and policies that restrict our freedoms and control the way we live our lives. The latest is Obama-Care. At last count there were 180 new bureaus, boards and commissions that have to be set-up for the new law, with them come 2700 pages of new taxes, laws and regulations — more freedoms we can kiss goodbye. The Government can now force you to buy coverage, tell you what doctor to use and what procedures you can have. Freedom? I don’t think so, but once again, the Government tells us what is best for us.

So if you keep saying that we are still the freest country on earth, you need to wake-up, because each year that goes by, we have fewer and fewer freedoms to enjoy. And with Obama as President for another four years, be prepared for our rating as a free nation to drop even further.

Soda, popcorn, smoking, baby formula are all little things, but they are all freedoms of choice which have been taken away. How many more little freedoms must be taken away before we have all had enough? I guess we are not there yet, but sooner or later it is going to come. But by then we will not be able to do anything about it.

This is one man’s opinion.

The talk of dropping social conservatism is the most disturbing to me. Social conservatism is the “values” wing of American Dream. The debt is a moral issue every bit as much as it is a fiscal one. It must be conquered in a variety of different ways, including molding a society that does not have so much need of so many taxpayer-funded programs. Besides, the Democrats aren’t tossing their social platform. Abortion, gay marriage, restriction of religious freedoms – these are all social issues. If we take our stance off the table we are simply conceding that the Democrats are the moral authority of all these things. No, going Democrat-lite is not the answer. Some adjustments and compromises will be made within the party regarding certain issues, to be sure. However, those compromises need not compromise the core principles and traditional values of our party.

All those details have yet to be worked out, but in the meantime there are things we can be doing strategically to pave the road for what is to come. Andrew Breitbart was right: this is war; but it is a war with many battlefronts. We don’t all have to focus on one thing at a time. I’ve come up with six battlefronts that I think will be instrumental in turning the party and this country around.

Media - There is no doubt the mainstream media went a long way to winning this election for Obama. Their cover-ups and silence of administration scandals and their nonstop demonizing of Republicans and conservatives have flooded the airwaves for years. It has an enormous effect on how the general public views the Republican party and hot button issues. In his book Left Turn: How Liberal Media Bias Distorts the American Mind, author Tim Groseclose conducted a study in which he concluded the liberal bias of the mainstream media adds as much as 8-10 polling points to the Democrat candidate in any given race. In an election year where the two candidates were running neck and neck, that figure is disturbing. How would the tide and tone of the election have been different if the mainstream media had been less bias and more curious? It is imperative we disable the traditional media complex. They have proven they cannot be trusted to report the truth. If we are to change the perception of the Republican Party the first place to start is the media. They need to held accountable, infiltrated where possible and circumvented regularly. Bloggers and alternative news sources like Fox and talk radio will obviously play a key role in wrestling back the news cycle.

Culture - This is a front conservatives abandoned long ago. The arts and entertainment industry sets the tone of our culture, and they have skewed almost exclusively left for years. Meanwhile, we moved on to more “weighty” issues in an attempt to ignore the “fluff”. The problem with that is, while we were arguing about tax structure and constitutional values, the American public fell in love with Madonna, JayZ, Glee, the forensic procedural and the Daily Show – all of which/whom are heavily influenced by liberal ideology; and since many Americans are more familiar with what Jon Stewart thinks than what the constitution says, perhaps it wasn’t such a great strategy to turn our back on the culture. To quote the late, great Breitbart one more time: “Politics is downstream of culture.” We need to do everything we can to win back this culture and take back “the norm”. How do we do this? By supporting good, quality entertainment that reinforces American values and by shunning offensive entertainment. This does not mean trying to create a bunch of pro-American, in-your-face “conservative” works. It just means stripping pop culture of its political agenda. We don’t need to create “message art”. Too often that results in sub par productions that go nowhere. Good work will draw attention and the values of any creator will seep into any creation regardless of intention. We need more good work by good artists who love America and conservative principles; and when we see that good work we need to be sure to support it with our dollars and our time.

Community Outreach - Probably one of the most dismal failures of the GOP is that they have given up on the votes of minority communities. It’s no secret that Blacks and Latinos in particular are generally socially conservative and yet vote Democrat en masse. The Democrats successfully rebranded their party from the founders of the KKK and Jim Crow while at the same time shifting the accusation of racism to the Republicans. Let’s not kid ourselves – it was a masterful stroke that has dealt a crippling blow to the GOP over the last 50 years. As a result, we’ve conceded that minorities will never vote Republican in large blocks again. We have to stop being afraid of the word ‘racist’. We know it’s not true and we know our platform is one that promotes economic prosperity for all, not just some. There are many dedicated and passionate minority Republicans who are ready and able to start wading into communities where our message has not always been welcome and start articulating the message of freedom. The GOP needs to get these folks platforms in the communities and start surprising people by shattering the misconceptions of Republicans. We will also need to step up even more on the private charity front. We know many more families will be suffering as the economy continues to tank. We need to reach out to those hurting families. It is an opportunity to model our belief that individuals can do more to help their suffering neighbors and communities than the government can, and in a more sustainable way. Becoming consistent stewards of our neighbors will go a long way to healing false divisions foisted upon us by the liberal media complex.

Legal - I was going to make education a separate battlefront because the hijacking of our education system by the “social justice” crowd has had an enormous impact on the world view of the children who go on to become our leaders. However, I decided to include it under the ‘Legal’ battlefront because most of the issues in our education system will need to be won through the courts. We’ll need lawyers and legal minds to continue to battle those trying to remove religious freedoms or freedom of thought from our schools. School choice is almost always challenged in the courts wherever the people have passed it. It will need to continue to be defended. We’ll also need to continue to battle the education complex for parental rights and fight the myriad of legal maneuvers by teachers unions to strengthen their grip on our school system while simultaneously eroding education. Besides education, we’ll need continued legal support against courts overturning the will of the people on controversial issues they’ve voted on and constitutional violations in the public square. The legal battlefront is one of the most difficult because it requires a certain, expensively acquired skill-set and a lot of money…which is probably what makes it one of the more important battlefronts.

Political - The GOP needs to start putting our minority brethren in front of the camera and start putting money behind their endeavors. The “face” of the party needs to change to reflect the changing demographics of this nation. It may feel patronizing to some, but the truth is people are more inclined to trust those who look like them, and the majority of Americans are now “minorities”. Let’s catch up to that. As brilliant as they are, the GOP needs to remove Sununu and Gingrich and McCain as the public faces of the party and start flooding the airwaves with our equally brilliant minority representatives. Every interview, tv appearance, public appearance should include a minority face. We need to do it until it becomes normal and expected in the general public. This strategy has worked in our pop culture to normalize behaviors and activities we would never have publically approved of in the past. The GOP needs to adopt this same strategy and change their public perceptions.

Faith - The holiday season is upon us and at this time of year more than any other we see faith and religious values under assault in the public square. Generally speaking, faith has become a target of the left – from removing Christian references from schools to punishing small school children for drawing pictures of Jesus to forcing Catholics to violate their religious conscience and on and on. The Democrats removed God from their official platform at the DNC and when they tried to reinsert Him after a public outcry He was booed…three times! The Democrats speak of tolerance but they move to block God at every turn. We need people willing to fight for freedom of religion in the courts, in the public square and in their hometowns. Freedom of faith is the backbone of this country and why it was founded and fought for in the first place. Our laws and our traditions are based on Judeo-Christian values. There will be no successful political strategy that doesn’t involve protecting the religious freedom of Americans. This must be considered a vital battlefront if we are to win in the future.

We are all a part of this “war for America”, but we are all gifted in different areas. Many regular Americans feel that they are not empowered to affect the process. To that I say “You have more power than you know. You have a gift. You have a skill. Take those skills and gifts, find a battlefront where they apply and go to work!”

The bad news is our fight is just beginning. The good news is…our fight is just beginning.

It’s time to show appreciation for America’s job creators and investors. Justen Charters, Founder of Rebooting America, has declared today as Papa John’s Appreciation Day to combat the left-wing hate hurled at the pizza chain for their proposed changes to services in the wake of Barack Obama’s re-election, and the looming imposition of Obamacare. This included increasing costs on pizza and cutting employee hours, which is the byproduct of the president’s health care overhaul. It’s about to turn us into a nation of part-time workers.

Nevertheless, in a written statement, Charters said that:

this is about standing up for a business owner who told investors and the American people that Obamacare will hurt profits. This is about turning the attempted boycott by the left on it’s head and supporting free markets and free speech. Boycotts only hurt employees, they don’t help them. The narrative from the left in the elections tried to pushed the theme that conservatives do not care for the poor. We can debunk that, if you simply visit our event page and see that we are asking those who are in the financial position to do so to give a pizza to a homeless person or somebody who is down on their luck. And before I forget, This is not just about Papa Johns. Papa Johns is an easy enthusiasm creator because everyone loves pizza. Other companies like Olive Garden and Red Lobster have also come under attack for taking the same stand as John Schnatter.

Stand up for economic freedom, and make your night Papa John’s.

On August 16th, 2012, former Marine Brandon J. Raub was arrested at his home by the FBI, US Secret Service, and the Chesterfield County (VA) Police department. [Video below]

What was this Iraq and Afghanistan veteran arrested for – without a warrant? The posts on his Facebook page. Reportedly, the posts on his page – which consisted of controversial song lyrics, and his personal dissatisfaction with the US Government – were deemed controversial and “terrorist in nature. Upon his detention, authorities brought Mr. Raub to the John Randolph Medical Center for evaluation

Virginia Cop Block – a site dedicated to educating citizens about their rights and exposing those who violate them – reported that these agencies used a “Green Warrant”, stating the follwoing:

Virginia CopBlock has learned that this form of arrest/detention is known as a “Green Warrant”, often known as a “Mental Health Warrant”. If a person is credibly believed to be a potential threat to themselves or others, a “Green Warrant” can be issued. This allows government authorities to arrest and detain the person for up to 72 hours; and have them evaluated to determine if they are “mentally unfit”, and would pose a threat if released.

Upon the news breaking, The Rutherford Institute released a statement stating that they will be defending Brandon Raub. According to their website, The Rutherford Institute, a nonprofit civil liberties organization, provides legal assistance at no charge to individuals whose constitutional rights have been threatened or violated.

On August 20th, a three-hour hearing was held to determine if Raub would be released from the John Randolph Medical Center, or if he would be detained for a longer duration. The judge decided that Raub was to remain in detention.

Following the hearing, The Rutherford Institute released the following statement:

In a hearing held at the hospital, government officials disregarded Raub’s explanation that the Facebook posts were being interpreted out of context, sentencing him up to 30 days’ further confinement in a VA psych ward. In coming to Raub’s defense, Rutherford Institute attorneys are challenging Raub’s arrest and forcible detention, as well as the government’s overt Facebook surveillance and violation of Raub’s First Amendment rights.

The public has finally been able to hear from Brandon Raub, as he spoke exclusively with Adam Kokesh, founder and host of “Adam Vs. The Man”

However, as millions of Americans lined up to grab one of their tasty chicken sandwiches and waffles fries, counter protests were also planned over Chick-fil-A President Dan Cathy’s , alleged anti-gay remarks, which were nothing more than an expression of his religiously-informed believe in traditional marriage. In a confusing piece in the L.A. Times by Michale Hiltzik, he directly quoted what Cathy said:

We are very much supportive of the family — the biblical definition of the family unit, he told the Biblical Recorder. On the radio, he observed: I think we are inviting God’s judgment on our nation when we shake our fist at him and say we know better than you as to what constitutes a marriage.

But being pro-family is not anti-gay. Indeed, Chick-fil-A serves anyone who comes in the door and doesn’t discriminate against homosexuals for employment. But in the midst of all the left-wing clucking over Cathy’s remarks, Democratic Mayors Rahm Emanuel of Chicago and Thomas Menino of Boston hinted they’d block Chick-fil-A’s expansion in their cities just because they didn’t like Cathy’s politics. Other liberal Democratic mayors, like Ed Lee of San Francisco, have made similar rumblings.

Hiltzik turned to anti-Christian mockery of Cathy’s religious beliefs, snarking that “it might not be a terrible idea to try to learn a little more about why he thinks he has a direct line into God’s medulla oblongata before accepting his claim to be the Lord’s personal spokesman.” It’s comforting to see how the mainstream press can be so fair in their assessment of personal faith.

Hiltzik also suggested that CEOs of corporations should keep their mouths shut because they might be boycotted. He mentions Whole Foods founder John Mackey who:

in 2009… wrote an op-ed attacking President Obama‘s healthcare proposals. Mackey hinted that we could probably do away with the need for organized healthcare by eating from the right menu, such as that marketed by his stores. He argued that the nation’s founding documents didn’t reveal any intrinsic right to healthcare, food, or shelter” anyway, so quitcher bellyachin’. A boycott of Whole Foods was promptly launched. In 2010, similarly, it was revealed that Target had contributed $150,000 to a PAC backing a gubernatorial candidate opposing gay rights. A customer and shareholder backlash followed.

Despite these boycotts, both Whole Foods and Target are still getting along quite well and arguably saw upticks in business from political conservatives who were annoyed at the Left’s boycotts. However, Hiltzik doesn’t mention anywhere in his piece that “Google, Ebay, Microsoft, Starbucks, Electronic Arts (EA) and Zynga are among the 70 companies, professional organizations and municipalities opposed to the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), which bans federal agencies from recognizing the legal marriages of gay and lesbian couples.” Furthermore, “the employers filed an amicus brief urging the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals to find portions of the act unconstitutional in Golinski v. Office of Personnel Management.” That is far more political than anything Dan Cathy has done.

Nevertheless, Hiltzik argued that Cathy has every right to say how he feels on political matters but he just can’t do it at work, which happens to be based on the values he was espousing in the interview. A privately-held company, Mr. Cathy can afford to not worry about the politically-correct tempests that keep publicly-traded companies like McDonald’s or Burger King from offending the PC police.

In an another act of liberal presumption, Hiltzik concluded his piece by complaining that

corporate executives surrounded by yes men telling them how wise they are will probably continue to try sharing their wisdom on subjects well outside their core competencies. Sometimes they’ll tailor their words to what they think are their target markets. Sometimes, like Cathy, they’ll discover that there are bigger markets out there where customers may not care for what they have to say. We should defend to the death their right to speak, and also our own right to make them pay for it, or not, at the cash register.

Perhaps on his lunch break today, Mr. Hiltzik had the chance to pass a Chick-fil-A that was lined up around the block with customers.

.

In March of this year, Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels signed a bill that returned to Hoosiers the legal ability to defend themselves against unlawful police entry into their homes. Some are saying that Indiana is now the first state to allow the use of force against police, however others argue that the 4th and 2nd Amendments to the US Constitution already permitted this.

The new law’s introduction states:

“it is the policy of this state to recognize the unique character of a citizen’s home and to ensure that a citizen feels secure in his or her own home against unlawful intrusion by another individual or a public servant. By reaffirming the long standing right of a citizen to protect his or her home against unlawful intrusion, however, the general assembly does not intend to diminish in any way the other robust self defense rights that citizens of this state have always enjoyed. Accordingly, the general assembly also finds and declares that it is the policy of this state that people have a right to defend themselves and third parties from physical harm and crime.”

The new law stemmed from the Barnes V. Indiana State Supreme Court decision, which stated that ”allowing resistance unnecessarily escalates the level of violence and therefore the risk of injuries to all parties involved without preventing the arrest”.

The Barnes case was one where a police officer entered an apartment, without a warrant and without invitation from the residents, to respond to a domestic violence complaint. Mr. Barnes blocked the doorway and resisted the use of force by an officer to enter the apartment. Police choked and tasered Mr. Barnes and arrested him for Battery on a Police Officer.
