Contempt Charges To Be Brought Against Holder

Attorney General Eric Holder

Katie Pavlich, News Editor for Townhall, released today that contempt charges will be brought against Eric Holder on June 20th.  Pavlich has been covering the Fast and Furious scandal and has written a book about this egregious episode in government ineptitude.

Fast and Furious was a botched “gunwalking” operation headed by the ATF that allowed thousands of guns to cross into Mexico in the hopes of capturing key drug cartel kingpins in the ongoing narcotics war.  It is a conflict that has already claimed over 30,000 lives since it began in 2006.  What makes Fast and Furious horrific is the fact that the guns used in the operation were responsible for the death of Border Patrol agent Brian Terry.   Holder was given the option to have a contempt charge tossed if he complied with the October 2011 Congressional Subpoena.  He did not.  Here is Chairman Darrell Issa’s statement compliments of Katie Pavlich and Townhall.com:

For over a year and a half, the House Oversight Committee, with Senator Chuck Grassley, has conducted a joint investigation of reckless conduct in Operation Fast and Furious. With the support of House leadership, the Republican Conference, and even some Democratic Members who have expressed concern to the White House over the Justice Department’s failure to cooperate, this investigation has yielded significant results. The Attorney General has acknowledged that the operation was fundamentally flawed and he has committed to take steps to ensure that it does not occur again. Evidence found in applications for wiretaps shows that although senior officials were given information about reckless tactics, they still signed affirmations that they had reviewed the investigation and determined that electronic surveillance of phones was necessary.

Despite what the investigation has uncovered through whistleblowers and documents the Justice Department had tried to hide, the Committee’s work is not yet complete.  Attorney General Holder has failed to meet his legal obligations pursuant to the October 12 subpoena.  House leaders reiterated this failure in a May 18, 2012, letter. Specifically, the Justice Department has refused to turn over critical documents on the grounds that they show internal Department deliberations and were created after February 4, 2011 – the date Justice issued a false denial to Congress.  Contempt will focus on the failure to provide these post February 4th documents.

The Obama Administration has not asserted Executive Privilege or any other valid privilege over these materials and it is unacceptable that the Department of Justice refuses to produce them.  These documents pertain to Operation Fast and Furious, the claims of whistleblowers, and why it took the Department nearly a year to retract false denials of reckless tactics.  The Justice Department’s actions have obstructed the investigation. Congress has an obligation to investigate unanswered questions about attempts to smear whistleblowers, failures by Justice Department officials to be truthful and candid with the congressional investigation, and the reasons for the significant delay in acknowledging reckless conduct in Operation Fast and Furious.

While the Justice Department can still stop the process of contempt, this will only occur through the delivery of the post February 4, 2011, documents related to Operation Fast and Furious and whistleblower accusations subpoenaed by the Committee.  If the Attorney General decides to produce these subpoenaed documents, I am confident we can reach agreement on other materials and render the process of contempt unnecessary.”

House Set to Bring Contempt Charges Against Holder

cmimg_73541

The Republicans are set to bring ‘contempt’ of Congress charges against Attorney General Eric Holder next week for his testimony on Operation Fast & Furious. This answers the question if last week’s hearings with Eric Holder on the Hill was just a dog-and-pony show (with apologies to President Obama for the culinary clash of register).

There may be some Republican voters who want Eric Holder’s official standing in the Obama administration delivered, John Baptist-like, on a silver platter to the thunderous applause of the American mob. But if the GOP proceeds with caution and aplomb, they can make the contempt trial of Eric Holder into a no-lose proposition.

Certainly, Attorney General Holder merits worse than contempt charges for his administrative responsibility in the Operation Fast & Furious debacle, which led to the deaths of thousands of Mexican citizens, and memorably for the American public, border agent Brian Terry. The ensuing cover-up in the Department of Justice and “ATF” are their own scandals, deserving of censure in their own right.

But at this stage in the investigation, contempt is the most justice that can be served against an appendage of a Head of State whose staunch ideology, hubris, and cold calculation of election politics forbid anything as drastic as removing Holder from office. If Barack Obama had a conscience, Holder would have been sacked after his intervention in the New Black Panthers’ voter intimidation case.

Instead, the public will have to settle for the highly visible trial of an Attorney General who has provided the Republicans with ample firepower over the course of an investigation that has seen no less than eight separate hearings with Holder himself.

The highest law enforcement official in the land has stonewalled by refusing to turn over more than a hundred thousand requested documents. He has insulted the intelligence of the House Republicans by feigning that  references to “Fast and Furious” in departmental emails and memos do not refer to “Operation Fast and Furious.” Holder has lied countless times, such as when he first learned of Fast and Furious, and has pretended not to remember inconvenient facts.

Recall that such inability to remember is what led to Scooter Libby’s perjury charges, even though Libby was not a part of the Plamegate leak. In addition, Bush did not fully pardon him, he only commuted his sentence.

Ideally, due to the scope of this bloody international incident, the buck should stop with President Obama. But since the struggle to hold the president accountable for his corrupt and reckless actions through the voting process is ongoing, the Republicans must hold back appearing overly political in this highly sensitive political season.

If they can accomplish that, they will put themselves in a no-lose situation. If Holder proves himself indubitably to have engaged in dishonest actions, then a vote of contempt would become a negative blight upon the administration. The more public this forthright and fair process is, presumably to be held on C-SPAN (barring a gag executive order), the better.

Secondly, if Holder is exonerated, this will show that the Republican Party is not filled with the kind of hyper-partisans that the Obama administration is full of. If  Republicans pursue justice and accountability on behalf of the American people with the utmost of integrity, this will aid them in this election year, regardless of result.

Conservatives may bridle at this presentiment. But the argument turns on attitude.

While we conservatives would savor the image of Eric Holder in an orange prison jumpsuit… that is not going to happen. Not only would it be impossible to muster the political capital to get Holder forcibly removed from office, there is the matter of going after high-ranking officials in a sitting administration and the precedent it would set. Such vindictive actions are common fare in banana republics; even if in this case, it might be warranted.

But let us keep the big picture in mind, even as we are aggrieved of the human damage Operation Fast & Furious caused and are threatened by the Constitutional assault the scandal implies.  The adept and judicious managing of a Holder contempt trial would help lead to the ultimate conclusion for conservatives: Not only Holder, but Obama removed from office.

Instead of concentrating on a tempest in a tea cup, which is what an entertaining and explosive Holder contempt trial would be, even as it resulted in self-inflicted damage among moderates and independents, let’s ‘go meta’ on the political situation.

In November, millions of citizen jurors will turn out to render a verdict on the lawlessness of the Obama administration. By contrasting themselves with the shameless Democrats, the GOP will make it easier for Americans to render a decision on the Obama regime: Guilty, as charged.

Update: This blog post was updated to reflect the House Republicans’ scheduling of a contempt vote next week.

Congressman Louis Gohmert Torches Attorney General Holder in Fast & Furious Hearings

Congressman Louie Gohmert of Texas interrupted the ritual thanking of Attorney General Eric Holder for his precious time; that is, when Holder’s not stonewalling or outright lying to the Hill. The former prosecutor and judge launched into a measured attack on the integrity of the current Department of Justice.

What set Gohmert off on his bout of righteous indignation? Holder’s revealing complaints about the political pressures he has to weigh while at the Justice department.

Watch the video below, via The Right Scoop.

This type of principled outrage should be routine in a Congress that has seen unconstitutional power grabs, unfettered spending, and serial insolence from a sitting president.

That is in addition to the absurd games played by Holder alone, like the claim that mentions of “Fast and Furious” in procured emails don’t actually refer to “Operation Fast and Furious.” Yeah, that’s the ticket.

At one point, Holder retorts to Rep. Jason Chaffetz that the words don’t actually mean what they say because he has “superior knowledge.” We’ll have to take his word for it, because he has currently released only 7,600 of the 140,000 requested by Congress.

When Eric Holder wasn’t being jocular and flippant with his interlocutors, he was giving them what could be referred to as “the Holder run-around.” Darrell Issa, for his part, blasted the Attorney General for not being a good witness, because “a good witness answers the question that was asked.”

The Republicans, for their part, put on a great show, but let’s hope that it’s more than just that — a show. We’ve all had more than enough kabuki theater the last three years when it comes to getting results.

No less than a Holder censure at this stage in the game will satisfy conservatives, and most I know actually want to see him in an orange prison jumpsuit.

Let’s hope these hearings are setting the tone for a campaign season whose negative tenor was spearheaded by Democrats reaching all the way to the top. The GOP should not be afraid to take Democrats to task for their shameful abuses of political office.

Expect the Institutionalized “progressive” Left to Come Out in Force

Comedian Bill Maher gave $1 million to one of President Obama’s SuperPACs. Actor Alec Baldwin’s on record saying that Obama’s re-election ‘In the Bag’. Lanny Davis, who writes for The Hill, is busy covering up for U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder during Congressional investigations into the murder of U.S. Border Agent Brian Terry and hundreds of Mexican citizens resulting from the Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms Fast and Furious gun-running scandal. MSNBC stopped inviting Conservative author Matt Lewis to contribute on-air after the site he works for, the Daily Caller, reported about the influence George Soros funded Media Matters for America wields over that Network. “Coincidentally”, Conservative pundit Pat Buchannan was also dropped by MSNBC around that same time.

As is always the case with any non-white or non-male Republican star, the institutionalized “progressive” left media is focused on Florida Senator Marco Rubio who, being a Hispanic from a crucial swing state, poses an existential threat to the re-election of Barack Obama. Not surprisingly, openly leftist actress Eva Longoria joined in the attack by saying “Marco Rubio has been coming up with some silly stuff that we really have to sort through”.

Meanwhile, the American mainstream media remains silent after a BarackObama speech where he joked: “I went to the speaker’s home town,” referring to a trip to House Speaker John Boehner’s battleground state of Ohio, “stood under a bridge that was crumbling.” Somebody in the crowd shouted, “Let him drive on it!”

Cue the sound of crickets.

This is the same press that had a field day back in 2008 when, on one or two occasions, a few folks attending McCain/Palin rallies shouted ugly comments from the crowd. These incidents were reported as major, top of the broadcast, front-page news. Repeatedly, with frequency and vigor.

During nationwide May Day demonstrations by OWS, occupiers themselves willing admitted that their protesters were taking marching orders from big labor and public service unions like the AFL-CIO and SEIU.

One of the leaders of the Occupy Cleveland movement, Brandon Baxter, was arrested for a terrorist plot to bomb a bridge in Cleveland Ohio. The plot has been directly linked to the Occupy movement. The names and the official complaint have been confirmed.

There were multiple incidences of violence around the country, with occupiers shouting the likes of “Pigs Go Home” and “Down with Capitalism”. With tear gas in Oakland, violence and vandalism in Seattle, SEIU members disrupting Los Angeles International Airport, with Occupiers calling themselves anarchists and hurling Molotov Cocktails; despite all evidence to the contrary, American taxpayer funded NPR is still calling the violent Occupy protests “restrained”.

By comparison, when the Tea Party was the topic de jour, Democrats and their “progressive” Party Pravda lapdogs were quick to blame the Tea Party for each and every violent incident around the country. More than one fringe leftist whack-job, impersonating responsible journalists on American television’s most irresponsible cable network, held Sarah Palin personally responsible for the Gabby Giffords shooting in Tucson Arizona. Their supposed rationale was her use of the word target when discussing campaign strategy. Never mind that in similar applications, the word “target” had been used frequently by members of the Democratic Party. Members of the institutionalized “progressive” left smear machine somehow forgot to inform the public that “target” was first used as political jargon by 1980 Democratic presidential candidate Walter Mondale’s political strategist Bob Beckel.

A review of the visitor’s log confirms that AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka and former SEIU President Andy Stern have been frequent visitors to the White House. SEIU alone spent approximately $60.7 million to help elect Barack Obama to the White House in 2008. SEIU expects a return on their investment. Barack Obama was quick to embrace the Occupy movement when he saw his poll numbers sliding.

Before this November’s elections American voters should duly note such connections.

In case you haven’t noticed, or have yet to become fully convinced, bias within the institutionalized “progressive” left media is both very real and pervasive. With the presidential general election campaign about to get into full swing, expect it to get much, much worse. Truth coming from the institutionalized “progressive” left’s smear machine is as likely as them reporting that Elizabeth Warren can’t prove she has Cherokee blood in her veins.

Two Cheers For the House of Representatives

@s_0.3

Cheers for Indiana Democratic Rep Joe Donnelly, who broke rank with “progressives” to support the Fast and Furious subpoena in Congress. Rep Donnelly expressed support for the Oversight Committee’s subpoena of Attorney General Eric Holder over documents related to the failed Operation Fast and Furious scandal. This was a big step taken by Donnelly since it means that “progressive” Democrats like Rep Elijah Cummings of Maryland can no longer claim that the investigation is a wholly partisan issue.

“One of the duties of Congress is to provide oversight of the Executive Branch,” Donnelly said “There has been a serious allegation of federal law enforcement misconduct and we need to get to the bottom of this issue without playing partisan politics.”

“Attorney General Eric Holder could end this today if he gives us the documents,” Utah Rep Jason Chaffetz said. “Fast & Furious has become Slow & Stonewalling and it really makes you wonder what they’re hiding. We were promised those responsible would be held accountable and that has not happened.”

GOP Rep. Darrell Issa, chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, issued the documents subpoena in October 2011 and suggested days ago that the next option to get Holder to release additional documents might be declaring him in contempt of Congress.

When it comes to Stonewalling, Holder has now entered into direct competition with Richard Nixon’s Watergate era White House. The big difference being, the Watergate scandal never resulted in death. Since for “progressives” the ends always justify the means, the loss of several hundred Mexican civilian lives and that of a U.S. Border Patrol Agent is a small price to pay when defrauding the American public into believing restricting their Second Amendment Rights is a good idea.

Having Eric Holder as U.S. Attorney General is like having a fox guarding the hen house. Despite all of Holder’s “get tough” rhetoric against Wall Street, as of today, there has yet to be a single criminal charge filed by the federal government against top executives of elite financial institutions like UBS, MBNA Bank, MF Global, Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley, or Bank of America. Certainly it can’t have anything to do with top officials at the Department of Justice who had strong ties to Wall Street being big fundraisers for obama’s 2008 presidential campaign. Perish the thought. There’s nothing to see here folks, keep moving along.

Additional cheers to the entire U.S. House of Representatives, for voting to defund the obama administration’s lawsuits against state immigration laws.

“Instead of using tax dollars to sue states, the Department of Justice and other branches of this government should start focusing on enforcing existing immigration laws,” said Rep. Lou Barletta, a Pennsylvania Republican. “Until they do, the Department of Justice should not receive one federal tax dollar to sue states.”

The 238-173 House vote emphasizes the popularity of state immigration laws. Recent polling shows that a majority of voters overwhelmingly support the idea of states being able to act.

The amendment still needs approval from the Senate and from obama, neither of which is likely. The current administration and their Senate allies have zero interest in enforcing existing immigration laws. Were they to do so, it would interfere with their partisan, divisive, race baiting “comprehensive immigration reform” rhetoric. If Americans are allowed to see that enforcing existing immigration laws works, obama will lose one of the many highly emotional, politically charged, manufactured identity politics issues “progressives” use to sway uninformed sound bite voters to their side.

Eric Holder Captured on Tape: We Must ‘Brainwash’ America Into Wanting Gun Control

Ever feel like the U.S. government is trying to mind-frog you? It’s not your imagination.

Attorney General Eric Holder admits in a 1995 tape that he wanted to “brainwash” Americans into wanting stricter gun control laws. The legal hack said he contacted ad agencies in Washington D.C. to come up with PSAs (Propaganda Service Announcements), which are financed with our money, in order to get us to change our minds about weaponized self-defense.

The following are some of Holder’s comments to the Woman’s National Democratic Club as captured on C-SPAN:

This informational campaign, I’ve also called on newspapers and the television stations to devote to us time and space so that we can get these ads, so that we can use these spots, and not to give us one-two o’clock in the morning ads when nobody’s watching, but at a time when people, particularly young people, are watching television… so that they’ll see these ads and they’ll be grabbed by these ads.

Newspapers and television stations? Running ads hostile to the right of citizens to armed self-defense? Wait, it gets worse.

I’ve also asked people who have influence over youngsters — entertainers, athletes — to be involved in this program as well.

Entertainers? Athletes? What do these people have to do with guns? (Besides Plaxico Burress.) Holder was not finished.

But not only them, community leaders. Jesse Jackson, Mayor Barry, people who have credibility [sic] with young people should be on the television, on the radio, as much as we possibly can, telling these youngsters that it’s wrong to carry a gun, and if you have information about people who are carrying guns, you’ve got to share that with Chief Thomas and with his people as well.

Community leaders? Mayors? Who is Eric Holder leaving out? You’ve got it – the state’s go-to guys when it comes to indoctrinating our youth: the schools.

I’ve also asked the school board to make a part of every day some kind of anti-gun, anti-violence message. Every day, at every school, at every level. One thing that I think is clear with young people, and with adults as well, is that we just have to be repetitive about this. It’s not enough to simply have a catchy ad on a Monday, and then only do it every Monday. We need to do this every day of the week, and just really brainwash people into thinking about guns in a vastly different way.

Holder’s slimy statement provides a nice red thread to recovered ATF documents showing the goal of Operation Fast & Furious was to sucker Americans into kissing their gun rights goodbye. What I particularly enjoyed was Holder’s sophistic tying of “anti-gun” to “anti-violence” – as if they’re equivalent. Blaming objects for human behavior is classic Marxian doublespeak, but we’ll skip over that to get to the main point.

The nation’s top law enforcement official is hypothetically still on the hot seat for Operation Fast & Furious; that is, if the cowards in the Republican Party stop trying to run out the clock on our attention span. It doesn’t even matter if Holder knew about an illegal operation that was a clear violation of Mexican sovereignty. The operation was known in the Department of Justice, at least as high as the Deputy Attorney General, and resulted in thousands of deaths. If Holder didn’t know, he should have known.

The background on Operation Fast & Furious shows it was tailor-made for selling the soap to the public that we need more gun control. Holder’s statement bolsters the case that the operation was designed exactly for this purpose.

The bottom line is if the Obama administration is willing to sacrifice human lives as “collateral damage” in order to deprive us of our guns, what does that tell you about the intent of those currently running the government? That they care about our safety? That they feel obliged to follow the laws?

American better think deeply about the implications of this exposed government operation. It is imperative that alert and aware citizens act with utmost urgency to remove the reckless and dangerous minds that would come up with such a scheme.

America Has “No Confidence” in Holder

As the Attorney General continues to shirk responsibility for ‘Fast & Furious’, Congressional votes against him pile up.

Ginny Simone speaks with Arizona Congressman Paul Gosar from the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform investigating Operation Fast and Furious. Rep. Gosar talks about Attorney General Eric Holder’s insistence that he stopped Fast and Furious the minute he learned about it and accusation that the committee is playing political “gotcha games.” Gosar says the nation and congress have turned against Holder as more and more vote “no confidence” in him. Originally aired 2/29/2012.

$25 Million-Dollar Lawsuit Filed Against ATF

U.S. Border agent Brian Terry was murdered on U.S. soil by a Mexican drug cartel member carrying an assault weapon made available to him by the U.S. Government in the Fast and Furious gunrunning debacle. Agent Terry’s parents have been denied any closure in this situation by cover-up king and DOJ Chief Eric Holder and company, so they have decided to sue the ATF, (which is run by the DOJ) in what looks like a case of seeking truth and justice, as opposed to it just being about the money.  The family was denied a chance to speak out against this travesty when they were denied status as crime victims by the very same man who’s office led Operation Fast and Furious, U.S. Attorney Dennis Burke. As Human Events points out:

Agent Terry’s family asked to be granted status as crime victims, so they could talk with prosecutors and speak at Avila’s sentencing.  It’s a routine request… but to the surprise of many observers, the U.S. Attorney’s office in Arizona has denied them.  William LaJeunesse of Fox News reports:

U.S. Attorney Dennis Burke argues because the family was not “directly or proximately harmed” by the illegal purchase of the murder weapon, it does not meet the definition of “crime victim” in the Avila case. Burke claims the victim of the Avila’s gun purchases, “is not any particular person, but society in general.”

Prominent litigator and the former U.S. Attorney in Florida, Kendall Coffey disagrees.

“The government apparently is saying they’re not victims, even though it was a federal crime that put the murder weapon in the hands of the killer of Brian Terry,” says Coffey. “They are simply rights of respect, rights of communication and the right to be heard.”

The Terry family has lost a son that would still be alive today if the U.S. Government hadn’t perpetuated the crime of  ordering the sale of assault weapons to Mexican drug cartels. To add insult to injury, the government is trying to shut them up by denying them crime victim status. The Terry family has taken a stand against big government cover-up, and will now be heard in a court of law, which will also be heavily reported in the media. ( at least the slim part of the media that still actually reports the truth)

Fox News  is covering the story, and is reporting on the reasons for the lawsuit as follows:

In a 65-page complaint, served on the government on  Wednesday, attorneys for the family claim ATF “wrongdoing” in Operation Fast and  Furious.

“ATF’s failures were not only negligent but in  violation of ATF’s own policies and procedures,” the complaint claims.

The family has also filed a claim against the Lone  Wolf Trading Company seeking unspecified damages for negligence in selling the  weapons to the purchaser and aiding and abetting in Mexican drug cartels’ conduct.

The claim says Lone Wolf knowingly sold “hundreds of  weapons” to various straw purchasers and in turn realized “hundreds of thousands  of dollars in profits from these sales.”

The claim alleges that “but for defendants’  negligent and illegal sales … Brian Terry would not have been murdered in the  Arizona desert on Dec. 14, 2010.”

The family is seeking a jury trial.

Finally, as of Wednesday, the ATF was unavailable for comment.  Comment or no comment, someone is going to be held accountable for this terrible injustice, and that should start with DOJ Chief justice-denier and serial liar Eric Holder.  The ATF is in fact, an agency within Holder’s Department of Justice. This happened on Holder’s watch, yet he has refused to comply with congressional subpoenas and has been caught lying to Congress, which has resulted in recently threatened contempt of congress charges.

UPDATE: Democrats release fake report  trying to protect Holder and company. Eric Holder will once again tell Congress how he knew nothing about fast and furious today when he goes before the House Oversight Committee  and Darrell Issa.

Obama-Crats Had a Real Bad Week

While President Obama continued his absence of leadership in several key battles in Congress this past week, several Democrats faced an onslaught of criminal charges: abuse of power (Blagojevich), calls for impeachment for lying to Congress (Holder), possible future criminal charges for embezzling clients money (Corzine) and the call for immediate ethics charges for her veiled threats of disclosing forbidden Congressional investigative information about current GOP presidential candidate Newt Gingrich. (Nancy Pelosi)

Now listen up you two, we can't afford another week like we just had, Blago goes to prison, Corzine may be next, Holder facing impeachment and Pelosi sticking her foot in her mouth again!

While the mainstream media would like to have people believe that Obama and company are riding a tidal wave of societal ignorance on their way towards another four years of false hope and change politics, informed Americans are not buying it.

This week is just the tip of the iceberg of Democratic corruption where Barack Obama’s presidency is concerned. There is still large back-log of investigations to come such as Maxine Waters (D- bank bailout fraud) ethics trial that Pelosi’s Democrats have managed to stall for over two years now, the Solyndra green cash to Democrat campaign coffers pay-to-play scandal, and now we have the newest corrupto-kids on the block, the DEA/ATF/DOJ mafia-style money-laundering and loan sharking scheme in which they acted like Al Capone’s accountants in laundering/doling out cash to Mexican drug cartels.

Chicago Democrat gets 14 years in prison for the attempted selling of President Obama’s former Senate seat, amid a slew of other Chicago mafia-style political racketeering charges.

Disgraced former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich will now be joining another former corrupt-crat from Illinois in state prison, ex-governor George Ryan (R-Ill), who heads the list of a total of 6 Illinois governors to be hit with criminal charges, with 4 of them receiving federal prison sentences related to corruption. Blago, whom a majority of the media today refuse to acknowledge, is a big-time, handpicked Chicago-Democratwith very close ties to current embattled DOJ Chief Eric Holder, convicted felon Tony Rezko, and current President Barack Obama. Yes, that Barack Obama.

Blago was convicted this past week on numerous Chicago-style pay-for-play charges, including trying to sell President Obama’s former U.S. Senate seat. Blago tried to get the judge to go easy on him by stating that his life is in ruins, and reminding the judge on numerous occasions that he has a wife and children to think about. Judge Zagel also gave Blago a miniscule $20,000 fine and rebuked Blago’s claims that it was his “staff that made him do it,” when he stated, ”Rod Blagojevich’s staff did not march him down the path of corruption,” Zagel said during his sentencing. “He marched them.” As they so often do in Chicago politics, Judge, as they so often do. See ya in 14 years Blago.

DOJ Chief Eric Holder’s Feet Held to the Fire in House Hearing on the Fast and Furious Gunrunning-to-Mexican-Drug-Cartels Fiasco

The Attorney General of the United States faced a dogged hearing up on capitol hill on Thursday which included Holder being told by Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner (R-WI) that impeachment is an option if Holder does not “clean up this mess’ quickly.

This comes on the heels of the revelation that after Holder has claimed that he has complied with all Congressional requests for information concerning the Fast and Furious fiasco that cost Border agent Brian Terry his life at the hands of a Mexican drug cartel member wielding one of the guns illegally sold by Holder and company, all of that so-called compliance for information requests did not include one single piece of correspondence from Eric Holder’s email accounts. Not one.

That alone shows Holder’s refusal to comply with Congress in getting to the truth about this tragedy and his reluctance take responsibility for his incompetence/complicity in over 121 murders linked directly to the sale of these assault weapons to Mexican drug cartels. Much to the dismay of Eric Holder and the Obama administration, with thanks to Republican members of Congress, this criminal activity will not be swept under the rug. Also of note is how the entire Democratic party in Congress has been shown to be attempting to cover up this scandal with ridiculous claims of Republican partisanship and undefined agendas. The families of the murdered citizens on both side of the border deserve better than that, and it is the Republicans that are fighting for justice to be served here. The list of Democrats that have been shown to have no shame in attempting to protect Eric Holder here is too long to list. Shame on you people.

$1.2 Billion Dollars of Client’s Money Missing in MF Global Scandal. Democrat CEO John Corzine Deems it “Misplaced” during testimony up on capitol hill this past week.

USA Today/Money has a nice video on this Democrat, John Corzine saying he simply has no idea where all that money went. For those of you who have not been paying attention, John Corzine is a former Democratic U.S senator, former Governor of New Jersey, and former CEO of Goldman Sachs. With all of those titles and powerful Democratic connections, can the people expect to see Corzine to be held accountable for this blatant fraud? Don’t hold your breath. Corzine and Obama go way back.

“I simply do not know where the money is, or why the accounts have not been reconciled to date,” said Corzine, 64, in his first public comments since his resignation was announced four days after the bankruptcy filing. That is almost the exact same, lame excuse Eric Holder constantly uses when asked about F&F documents addressed to him. In an ironic example of the ramifications of Corzine’s fraud as he was the MF Global CEO when this money “went missing” Tim Johnson (R-Ill) summed it up pretty well: “People who live in the real world, as you do, a lot of people have suffered dramatically, and will suffer, because they won’t be able to buy seed, they won’t be able to buy equipment, they won’t be able to invest for the future year,” said Rep.Timothy Johnson, (R-Ill), “I’m concerned that a lot of individuals, all over the country are going to wind up holding the bag because of what is either negligence, and or commingling (of funds) and or abdication of your responsibility as a fiduciary.” Well said Congressman.

This is just the first of a three-part series of the investigation into the MF Global scandal that Democrat John Corzine will be called on the carpet to testify before Congress in the near future. Stay tuned. Meanwhile fellow Democrats such as Collin Peterson (D-Minn) chime with such harsh statements as, “It just seems pretty risky.” Way to really stand up there Mr. Peterson, for the thousands of farmers and assorted citizens who have seen their hard-earned dollars vanish into thin air simply because they trusted MF Global and Democrat John Corzine.

Ex-Democrat Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi Makes a Fool of Herself by Threatening to Reveal Secret “Dirt” on 2012 GOP Presidential Candidate Newt Gingrich, Then Backtracks

This prime example of Pelosi’s Leftist Linguistic Lunacy is summed up in a prior article here. She attempted to attack newt Gingrich and he promptly responded that the minute she illegally revealed Congressional investigative information, that she should be brought up immediately on House Ethics charges. Then Pelosi back-tracked, after apparently someone informed her of the consequences of doing what she originally promised the nation she would do. Nancy Pelosi’s attention-seeking attempt at trying to denounce Newt Gingrich back-fired big time. As the 2012 elections get closer, we can be sure to be inundated by more examples of Pelosi’s Liberal Linguistic Lunacy as she struggles to remain relevant as the Minority Leader in the House of Representatives. With these examples of proven rampant corruption within the Democratic Party across America just this past week alone, the U.S. Senate and the White House should certainly be within the reach of the GOP, regardless of who wins the nomination. 2012 just can’t get here fast enough!

Siga's No-Bid Contract From the Obama Administration

To paraphrase a local radio station disk jockey from my youth, “The hits just keep on coming.” We have had, among others, Fast and Furious and Solyndra scandals. As if those scandals weren’t enough, we now get Siga Technologies. What, you ask, is Siga? Well, hopefully this post will inform you.

Siga is a pharmaceuticals company, whose controlling stockholder is Ronald O. Perelman, a major democrat donor. (BTW, for a list of Perelman political contributions, see this link.) The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has signed a no-bid contract with Siga Technologies for $443 million (as much as $2.8 billion if the government exercises its purchase option) to buy a high priced drug to combat smallpox.

From this source, we learn that Siga got:

  • A no-bid contract, a “sole-source” procurement for which Siga was the only company allowed to submit a proposal.
  • Obama administration officials blocked other firms from competing when Siga was in danger of losing the contract.
  • Siga’s bid of $255 per dose, a 180% profit, is far above what the government’s specialists said was reasonable.
  • Senior officials at HHS replaced the lead negotiator for the deal when Siga complained that contracting specialists at HHS were resisting the company’s financial demands.
  • The smallpox vaccine, which costs the government $3 per dose, can reliably prevent death when given within four days of exposure.
  • Dr. Thomas M. Mack, an epidemiologist at USC’s Keck School of Medicine, called the plan to stockpile Siga’s drug “a waste of time and a waste of money.”
  • Siga’s drug, an antiviral pill called ST-246, would be used to treat people who were diagnosed with smallpox too late for the vaccine to help. But ST-246 cannot be tested on people because of ethical constraints.
  • In June, 2010, Siga upped its presence in Washington D.C. by naming Andrew Stern to its Board of Directors. Stern, former head of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) and frequent visitor to the Obama White House, led a union that is a source of campaign money and volunteers for Democrat candidates.
  • The federal contract required that the winning bidder be a small business, with no more than 500 employees. Officials at the Small Business Administration investigated and agreed that Siga did not qualify. So what did the Obama administration do? It blocked all companies – except Siga – from bidding on a second offering of the contract.
  • St-246 has a shelf life of 38 months, unlike the smallpox vaccine which remains potent for decades.

Bottom line: Smallpox has been eradicated and only “is known to exist only in the locked freezers of a Russian scientific institute and the U.S. government.” The government’s pursuit of Siga’s product raises the question: Should the U.S. buy an unproven drug for such a nebulous threat as a smallpox biological attack?

But that’s just my opinion.

SHOCKER: Obama Administration's National Emergency Test Fails

In light of disasters like Solyndra, Project Fast and Furious, and the unemployment rate, the Department of Homeland security figured it would have to step its game up, if it wanted to be recognized in this administration full of failures.  So, they botched the National Emergency Alert yesterday, and they botched it good.  ABC went so far as to ask if the alert was a “total failure”.  Check out these two videos below and tell us what you think.  One shows the EAS alert playing Lady Gaga music. (I can’t make this up)  And the other is a special video from the “president”, himself.

Lady Gaga on the EAS:

The President doing his own EAS test. (although this video has not been “confirmed” just yet)

What do you guys think?  It’s just our emergency broadcast system, right?  I mean who cares if it works?  What are your thoughts?  Let us know in the comments below or on Facebook or Twitter.
