Is not the legal system in the United States based on the presumption of innocence?  Did Harry Reid grant himself the authority to alter that, or did he obtain permission from the White House by fiat?

Since when is it the business of the Senate Majority leader to take to the Senate chamber microphone and accuse a political opponent of a serious crime while presuming him guilty and demanding he prove his innocence?  Is not Senate business the job for which Reid was elected?  How does making this unsubstantiated charge fit in with conducting the business of the United States Senate?

It would be bad enough if this Harry Reid distraction from the failures that define the post-fad institutionalized “progressive” left’s Oval Office tragedy was an isolated incident.  For a “man” in what has historically been a prestigious position to make such outrageous charges without a single shred of evidence exceeds extremely egregious.  But sadly, an overview of the political landscape shows that it is not just Harry Reid who is engaged in spouting lies, uttering distortions and intentionally creating or parroting misinformation.

The White House re-election campaign has sued Ohio over a state provision that gives three extra days for early voting to members of the military.  The administration and the “progressive” Party Pravda pushed back hard, claiming that the lawsuit did not intend to target military voters.  That claim is pure, unfiltered bollocks.  Over the decades, “progressive” Democrats have sought to suppress military votes.  In 2000, when “progressive” Democrats were passionately seeking to steal the Florida Electoral College votes from George W. Bush, they actually succeeded in disqualifying military ballots.

Then there is the 2012 case of “progressive” Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren in Massachusetts.  Despite having blue eyes and blonde hair, she claims that she is “Native American”.  The “evidence” she presents to support her claim?  Her mommy told her so.

Never mind that her claim was rejected by the Cherokee Nation, and that an investigation of her family tree offers no support for her assertion.  In the meantime, while Warren claimed she didn’t know whether or not Harvard had ever promoted her Native American background, the Boston Globe reported: “For at least six straight years during Warren’s tenure, Harvard University reported in federally mandated diversity statistics that it had a Native American woman in its senior ranks at the law school. According to both Harvard officials and federal guidelines, those statistics are almost always based on the way employees describe themselves.”

Such a deal!  Lie about your heritage so your application to work as a member of the Harvard Law school faculty is given preferential treatment.  When your lie is discovered, say it must be true because mommy said so.

On the latest airing of FOX News Sunday, host Chris Wallace caught White House re-election campaign chairman David Axelrod in a lie about “Recovery Summer”.  Axelrod repeatedly stated that in 2010 he never spoke about the administration’s imaginary “Recovery Summer”.  Evidence shows he did exactly that during an interview with David Gregory on the NBC program Meet the Press.

As it turns out, “Recovery Summer” was, in and of itself, another oft trumpeted “progressive” fabrication.

Then there is Fast & Furious.  The White House and their “progressive” co-conspirators dreamed up the “perfect” way to convince Americans that more rapacious “progressive” big government infringements on their constitutionally protected gun rights were needed.

What was that “perfect” plan?  To intentionally allow hundreds of deadly automatic and semi-automatic weapons to walk across the southern border and into the hands of known criminals in Mexican drug cartels.  The cover story would be that the government intended to track the guns and catch cartel higher ups red handed.

Never mind that zero effort was made to track the guns.  None of the guns that the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms and the Department of Justice let walk were capable of being tracked by GPS.  Once the guns crossed the border, there was no way of telling where they ended up.

Instead of providing any evidence to support their tracking claim, the DOJ and the White House asserted they were merely continuing a program established by the Bush administration.  The difference between the two policies discredits that assertion.  The far fewer number of guns that were allowed by the Bush administration to leave the country had been equipped with GPS tracking devices.

After the House of Representatives Investigative Committee caught U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder in a lie and demanded additional information from the DOJ about the Fast and Furious scandal, the White House exerted Executive Privilege, which cannot be used unless the White House itself was involved in the activities under question.

Former White House “green jobs czar and self-avowed Communist Van Jones, and complicit “progressive” Party Pravda dogs assert that the GOP and the Tea Party “Want to hurt Americans economically so they can gain politically.”

This statement flies in the face of the fact that in order to gain politically, decades of “progressive” Democratic policies quite nearly destroyed the global economy through “progressive” big government social engineering in the U.S. housing market, have skewed American tax codes in favor of dividing Americans into separate economic classes and punishing the successful while rewarding the unsuccessful, have set about to destroy the concept of a traditional two parent family, dismantle the military, make more people dependent on “progressive” big government “entitlement” programs and allowing an unrestricted flood of illegal alien invaders into the country in hopes of buying the votes of their children with “progressive” big government handouts.

Still want to cling to the claim that “progressives” are the adults in the room?

At least RNC Chairman Reince Priebus is willing to call Reid a ‘dirty liar’.  ABC’s George Will compared Reid’s actions to McCarthyism by saying: “Look, in 1950, Joe McCarthy went to West Virginia, didn’t know what to tell to the Women’s Republican Club of Wheeling, West Virginia, so he said I have in my hand a list of 205, we think that are — 205 communists in the State Department.  (He) didn’t have a list.  Harry Reid doesn’t have any evidence either.  This is McCarthyism from the desert.”

Now is time for all American Patriots to expose the coordinated lies that are being and for decades have been spewed by “progressive” Democrats and their seditious allies within the institutionalized “progressive” left.

Maybe, just maybe, there are enough intelligent undecided swing voters with sound moral character remaining to ensure that “progressive” hopes for re-election end up where they belong, in the ashes.

Of course, ABC decided to pontificate on the pros and cons of a SuperPAC-free campaign. Personally, I see it as an opportunity to place real issues center-stage. Special interest groups tend to focus on their own little corners of the political world, and spend their money accordingly. Brown can control the narrative of his campaign, and has a relatively free hand to prevent it from degenerating into a pissing contest centered on Warren’s collective nonsense.

There was much screaming from the left over the Citizens United ruling that allowed the rise of the SuperPAC in the first place. And even though it hasn’t been that long, the GOP seems to have become far too dependent on corporate participation in campaigns. The Brown campaign offers us the opportunity to show everyone once and for all that we can still win without the help of the big bucks and special interest advertising. This can be an ideological campaign, and it can win on the merit of what Brown wants to do for Massachusetts.

That is how you win a campaign on conservative values, pure and simple. But, in order to do this, he needs money to get that message to his constituents. No SuperPAC advertising means that everything is on the Brown campaign. And while out-of-state organizations may not participate in this campaign, out-of-state individuals may contribute (within the limits permitted, of course.) So….

On a personal note, I used to write for a liberal editor from Massachusetts. We still keep in touch from time to time. Please, don’t give him the opportunity to pick on me about Scott Brown losing in November!! I really don’t like it when the few liberal friends I still have can do that sort of thing! Thanks!

Visiting Boston this morning gave me a chance to watch local news. For the most part it’s the same as home but I did see a couple ads for the Senate candidates. One focuses on the positive attributes of the person, in particular how the candidate approaches women’s issues. The other chooses to play the blame game in an attempt to associate the opponent with ‘the establishment.’ Which works better–Positive or Negative?

News Bulletin: If you have high cheekbones, you might be Native American.  Or at least, that’s what presumptive Democratic Senate nominee Elizabeth Warren stated to justify her unproven claims of Native American ancestry.  A puzzling revelation since she had detailed many aspects of her personal life on the campaign trail.  However, the Boston Herald reported that:

Warren’s statements come as genealogists at the New England Historic Genealogical Society were unable to back up earlier accounts that her great great great grandmother is Cherokee. While Warren’s great great great grandmother, named O.C. Sarah Smith, is listed on a electronic transcript of a 1894 marriage application as Cherokee, the genealogists are unable to find the actual record or a photograhic copy of it, Society spokesman Tom Champoux said. A copy of the marriage license itself has been located, but unlike the application, it does not list Smith’s ethnicity.

So her records indicating such ancestry is hearsay at best.   However, Warren stated that “being Native American has been part of my story I guess since the day I was born…these are my family stories, I have lived in a family that has talked about Native American and talked about tribes since I was a little girl.”   Well, Ms. Warren just because you share stories of Native American ancestry; doesn’t make you one. Just like how I’m not Italian for indulging in the various stories of my family’s roots around the dinner table.

Nevertheless, Warren enrolled as a minority at law school where she hoped to meet similar people other people with real tribal roots.  She blasted Scott Brown for suggesting she used her minority status to gain employment, but if her records are shoddy and she landed jobs based on her checking that box in the application form, it’s grossly naive to say it had no impact on her career choices.  As a “minority,” (although I like to refer myself as an American) I can safely say that presenting yourself as such does reap some benefits in your college and employment search.  However, I’m 100% Korean (I look the part) and I have the papers to prove it.  However, I’m confident that up to this point, I have received every opportunity based on my work ethic (a cornerstone in the Vespa family) and diligence in whatever task that was assigned to me.  I think Ms. Warren can make such a case.  However, why she decided to go on this faux Native American route displays a false narrative fraught with political opportunism.

However, instead of owning up to it, she doubled down on the false claim.  With Elizabeth Warren’s Native American roots exposed as lacking authenticity, a real coup de grace occurred when it was discovered that her ancestors actually rounded up Native Americans in their forced relocation known as the Trail of Tears.

O.C. Sarah Smith Crawford is that her husband, Ms. Warren’s great-great-great grandfather, was apparently a member of the Tennessee Militia who rounded up Cherokees from their family homes in the Southeastern United States and herded them into government-built stockades in what was then called Ross’s Landing (now Chattanooga), Tennessee—the point of origin for the horrific Trail of Tears, which began in January, 1837.

Jonathan Crawford, O.C. Sarah Smith Crawford’s husband and apparently Ms. Warren’s great-great-great grandfather, served in the East Tennessee Mounted Infantry Volunteer Militia commanded by Brigadier General R. G. Dunlap from late 1835 to late 1836. While under Dunlap’s command he was a member of Major William Lauderdale’s Battalion, and Captain Richard E. Waterhouse’s Company.

These were the troops responsible for removing Cherokee families from homes they had lived in for generations in the three states that the Cherokee Nations had considered their homelands for centuries: Georgia, North Carolina, and Tennessee.

Jonathan Crawford most likely did not join the regular Army troops who “escorted” these Cherokees along the Trail of Tears. He did, however, serve once more with Major William Lauderdale’s re-formed Batallion of Tennessee Mounted Infantry Volunteer Militia. This group fought the Seminole Indians in Florida during the Second Seminole War.

I wonder how the mainstream media will spin this one?

I recently saw this clip of Elizabeth Warren, where she says, “There is nobody in this country who got rich on his own.” That, in my humble opinion, and in the context of how she framed it, is not only very disturbing, but it also confirms another presumption by the left, that, business owners, who have become successful in business, are the only ones who gain from their business. Nothing could be further from the truth! For example, let’s consider a local supermarket: Every day, that supermarket works around the clock to bring fresh food products to “their communities.” This is a “luxury” that we Americans really take for granted; but, this luxury is a direct result of our mostly free-market economy, and the entrepreneur who “took the risk” and opened that supermarket.

We also need to consider the hundreds of employees that the supermarket owner employs. And, how about the thousands of companies that manufacture these food products? The supermarket owner, by buying and selling their products, has helped those companies to grow; and, by extension, has helped those respective companies to hire more people, as their needs grow.

The value that this supermarket owner created, has not only benefited their community, but it has benefited thousands of people all over the country. And this is only a few of the thousands of examples that one could think of, when pondering all the “reciprocal benefits” of a successful business.

When most of us clock out, and go home for the evening; or spend our weekends in leisure, we should consider the millions of people who have worked around the clock, rarely took off, and sacrificed most of their leisure time, and personal lives, so that they could create a successful business – that not only bettered their lives, but hundreds, if not thousands of lives as well.

Therefore, for anyone who wants to continue believing that rich people and business owners are just greedy, and out for themselves, I would ask you to reconsider your mode of thinking, and try to see how, and why, we should actually be grateful to most of the people who have become wealthy in our country.
