New Ad Campaign Asks Latinos Not To Vote For Congress

Latinos for Reform today announced a national campaign to get Latino voters to .. not vote.

Latinos for Reform announced today the launch of a national ad campaign in targeted states urging Latino voters not to vote for Members of Congress that have failed to deliver on their immigration reform promises. The ads, in both English and Spanish, are available at www.LatinosForReform.com.

The 2010 election boycott is in response to the failure of the Democrat Congress and President to give them the immigration reform they were promised.

During the 2008 elections, President Obama and the Democratic leadership made a commitment that immigration reform would be passed within a year. Two years later, these lawmakers have not only failed to deliver on this promise; they intentionally undermined even the smallest of reform efforts .. This November we can send a message to all politicians: If they didn’t keep their promise on immigration reform, then they can’t count on our vote.”

Latino voters make up a huge portion of the Democrat voting block.  If this campaign is successful, it could even further increase the size of the Republican tsunami as some have labelled it.  This call could have serious implications on highly-publicized elections such as the Reid-Angle Arizona Senate race and the Whitman-Brown California governors race.  Both campaigns will be hugely impacted by the Latino vote (or lack thereof).

Latinos for Reform tries to make the case that their anger is against both parties, but this ad campaign will most hurt Democrats.  We often hurt the ones we love.

Meghan McCain Pushes Elitist and Idiotic Views of O’Donnell

Meghan McCain has managed to publish a book no one cares about, flatter only herself at every opportunity and now stick her self-aggrandizing, snobbish nose up at a Republican  Senate candidate.

I don’t know how trashing a Conservative candidate does anyone any good, but Meghan took a shot at Christine O’Donnell on Sunday as CNN Political Ticker reported:

“I just know, in my group of friends, it turns people off because she’s seen as a nut job,” McCain said on ABC’s “This Week” program. “It scares me for a lot of reasons.”

The daughter of Arizona Republican Sen. John McCain said O’Donnell’s candidacy sends a message to the younger generation that you can just “wake up and run for Senate,” regardless of past experience.

Why can’t an ordinary person just wake up and run for Senate?  That’s the whole point of the Tea Party movement.

The leftist media has made a hay day out of O’Donnell’s interview with Bill Maher.  Why is any of that important?  Is anyone actually worried that Christine will start a Coven in the basement of the Capitol building?

For Ms. McCain to cast stone at O’Donnell, she should first look inward.  Meghan is a collection of gaffes wrapped inside of a terrible character and loved by only Meghan.

Meghan McCain Twitter PictureOf course, she never had any mis-steps in her past .. other than this picture she posted on twitter.

Of course there was also her attack on Bristol Palin where Meghan tried to say that looking like a stripper was fine with her compared to a young pregnant mother.

“When you’re sent to an image consultant and said that you look like a stripper and talk bad and you’re hurting the campaign when, you know, there’s a pregnant teen there, it does a little bit to your self-esteem.”

Way to go on the attack lingerie-girl.

Her motives are clear.  She is trying to keep the Republican party in the center.  A move that would fit her father’s political tastes.  The majority of Americans are tired of big tent B.S. and are trying to make the right, more right.  These constant attacks on true Conservatives just help us understand that Meghan McCain is just as much a moderate as her father and in no way is she good for the Conservative movement.

Engaging the Enemy

Be afraid, liberals – be very afraid. Remember, as that old saying goes…just because you’re paranoid doesn’t mean the Tea Party isn’t out to get you!

Every 24-hour news cycle brings forth new revelations that the conservative tsunami is rolling across the midterm ocean, gathering strength as it nears a landing on November 2nd.  As recently as Saturday, October 16th Barack Obama himself acknowledged the power of the waves. “There is no doubt that this is a difficult election,” said Obama. “That’s because we’ve been through an incredibly difficult time as a nation.”

Get a clue, Obama, you ain’t seen nothing yet!

Bachman Turner Overdrive

For all their rhetoric to the contrary, the truth is that the Tea Party waves are swamping the Democrats, forcing the Donkeys to race for higher ground, littering the campaign trail with their overwhelmed losers. The DCCC (Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee) by latest count has pulled the financing plug on at least two dozen incumbent Democrats in the House of Representatives. The list of the abandoned reads like a tabloid story foretelling the demise of the once Mighty:

  • Chad Causey [D, Arkansas District 1]
  • Ann Kirkpatrick [D, Arizona District 1]
  • Harry E. Mitchell [Arizona District 5]
  • Gabrielle Giffords [D, Arizona District 8]
  • Betsy Markey [D, Colorado District 4]
  • Suzanne Kosmas [D, Florida District 24]
  • Deborah Halvorson [D, Illinois District 11]
  • Bill Foster [D, Illinois District 14]
  • Chris Van Hollen [D, Maryland District 8]
  • Baron Hill [Indiana, District 9]
  • Dennis Moore [D, Kansas District 3]
  • Earl Pomeroy [D, North Dakota District 1]
  • Harry Teague [D, New Mexico District 2]
  • Dina Titus [D, Nevada District 3]
  • Steve Driehaus [D, Ohio District 1]
  • Mary Jo Kilroy [D, Ohio District 15]
  • Zachary T. Space [D, Ohio District 18]
  • Kurt Schrader [D, Oregon District 5]
  • Kathleen Dahlkemper [D, Pennsylvania District 3]
  • Chris Carney (D, Pennsylvania District 10]
  • Paul E. Kanjorski (D, Pennsylvania District 11]
  • Roy Herron (D, Florida District 8]
  • Chet Edwards (D, Texas District 17]
  • Steve Kagen (D, Wisconsin District 8]

For all the ignominious disgrace of being branded one of the Dirty Two Dozen by their own party leadership, it doesn’t appear they will have to feel all alone for much longer. Each passing day more pressure is being put on the still breathing Democratic Congress Critters by conservative sharks such as Dick Morris and his SuperPacUSA.

Dick Morris

Smelling blood in the water, Dick Morris is forecasting as many as 100 congressional seats will be lost by the Democrats. His SuperPacUSA, www.SuperPacUSA.com , is expanding the funding fight even as the Democrats are retrenching in a desperate attempt to stop the bloodletting. Morris calls his effort “Project 100”.  In a recent message to his supporters, Morris said:

“We are going to select the 50 races we believe are “second-tier” races, ones that are not in the priority list for the national committees. Ones the Democrats thought were “safe seats.” With a relatively small amount of money spent by Super PAC in these districts we could win an additional 50 seats, giving Republicans 100 new seats for this Congress! – Dick Morris

Given the carnage currently occurring among congressional Democrats it appears that Morris is leading a successful charge. And Morris is not alone. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is injecting $75 million in advertising campaigns against congressional Democrats all across the fruited plain. No wonder Obama is lashing out against them! Truth be known, Obama fears the chamber on two levels. First, he sees the effectiveness of the chamber’s ads and can perceive what is happening now in 2010. And, bitterly clinging to his Chicago thug tactics, he fears the Tea Party revolt could sweep him out in 2012. So his inner thug is revealing itself as he attempts to intimidate the Chamber of Commerce and its donors, as well as all other donors to conservative causes. The Supreme Court sure hit Obama with a smashing right hook with its striking down of the major provisions of the McCain-Feingold Act. Now people are free to exercise their First Amendment rights through corporate and non-profit contributions to political causes. It leveled the playing field once exclusively owned by the unions. And Obama and his cronies rue the day the Supreme Court made that ruling. That’s why Obama denigrated the Supreme Court in his last State of the Union speech. Remember that? That’s where we heard the glorious words “You lie!”

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is hardly alone. An organization named Crossroads GPS is reportedly spending $70 million in support of conservative candidates. Obama’s tirade against the U.S. Chamber of Commerce is also aimed at Crossroads GPS and other such conservative groups. Obama is pressuring these corporate entities to hand over their donor rolls even though that is not required by law. The point is how can you intimidate conservative donors if you don’t know who they are? It doesn’t appear that Obama’s tactic is going to work this time. After conservative commentator Glenn Beck expressed his ire at Obama’s thuggish tactics against the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Beck asked his viewers to contribute to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. The result was the single largest day of donations ever to hit the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s coffers. Chalk one up for the Tea Party. In a strange way you would think that Obama would celebrate donations to organizations such as the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. After all, the money transfer is just a redistribution of wealth. Isn’t that what it is all about? Guess not, huh!

Bemoaning the influence of conservative donors, Tim Rutten of the Los Angeles Times declared in an article published on October 16th:

A secondary influence on this election is the novel role of so-called third-party money, much of it secretly contributed to groups unaccountable to either party. By election day, according to a report Friday in the Wall Street Journal, such committees will have spent $300 million in support of GOP candidates. And, unlike the Republican National Committee or congressional sources, these third parties have been perfectly willing to spend on behalf of those with tea party roots. (By contrast, about $100 million in independent contributions will go to Democratic candidates; organized labor will spend an additional $200 million, but the bulk of that is going to rally union voters, whose enthusiasm has waned.) – Tim Rutten

As I researched Rutten’s article I couldn’t help but laugh as the Los Angeles Times, in its capitalistic wisdom, inserted two ads right in the middle of Rutten’s piece. Rutten starts off his diatribe declaring “In this crazy election year, the tea partyers have shown surprising strength. Bu the internal contradictions are so numerous, it’s hard to see how their influence will last.” Then, two paragraphs later, I came across two ADS BY GOOGLE. The first was an ad for a Tea Party U.S. Senate candidate in Colorado, Ken Buck – BuckForColorado.com The other declared, “Vote Libertarian www.vote-libertarian.org . Now, I ask, where was the Democrat ad? Oh, that’s right. They ran out of other people’s money.

First Amendment rights are such a pesky thing. They can’t be controlled by the party in power. According to the Supreme Court, the First Amendment actually means what it says. And Tim Rutten and others of his ilk just can’t come to grips with that fact. How can you ever hope to controls the opinions and emotions of the unwashed masses if they get to spout off at every opportunity? How dare they use Freedom of Speech in such an immoral manner like sponsoring television commercials that point out the warts on the faces of their socialist masters? No wonder Obama believes that the Bill of Rights is nothing but a list of negative rights. By that, he means it is negative for him – though he preaches that it is really negative for the citizens.

The tsunami is threatening the Democratic hold on the Governorships as well as Congress. Just two weeks are left before the midterm elections, and pollsters are predicting that the Republicans are going to win as many as 30 governorships. And it isn’t just winning 30 governorships that are sending the Democrats into frenzy. It’s like real estate – it is all about location, location, location. The newly seated governors have the opportunity to control the reapportionment of congressional seats as a result of the findings of the 2010 census. It is no secret that the new Republican governors will realign those congressional districts to the detriment of Obama and his fellow communists. That is a move that strikes right at the heart of Obama’s quest for a second term. Why? – Because reapportionment of congressional districts also means reapportionment of Electoral College votes. And that’s the Queen Bee. That’s the Golden Goose, the Sword in the Stone.  Reapportioned congressional districts will remain in effect for at least the next 10 years. That can affect both congressional and presidential elections for most of a generation. We are witnessing the literal implosion of the Democratic Party as they scramble to hold the line in the 2010 midterms. They know what is at stake.

In the Senate races the Democrats continue to fund their candidates at some level or another – but here too, the Tea Party has forced the Democrats to reallocate their funds to races once thought safe.

Democrat Election Funds - Flushing Bad Money after Poor Candidates.

Democratic Senator Harry Reid, despite having begun the campaign with a formidable war chest, has seen Sharon Angle out raise him in the funding race. Angle took in an incredible $14 million during the past quarter. At the same time Angle was raking in the cash, Reid was spending out the kazoo in an attempt to knock Angle out of the race early. It didn’t work. Angle is still around and Reid is looking like the loser here, especially after last week’s debate. Consequently, the Democratic Party has been forced to expand cash that is greatly needed elsewhere, to combat Angle. And it appears the Democrats are throwing bad money after good.

This same scenario is repeating itself all across the senate campaigns. The Democrats are playing defense. And the Republicans are on the attack. The GOP is taking advantage of the fact that it can play a strong defense by going on the offense.

And it isn’t all about cash. It is also about substance – of which the Democrats have previous little. Normally, you would expect a political party to trumpet both its legislative victories and its published agenda as campaign talking points. But the Democrats have found (and it’s not like they weren’t warned) that their major legislative victories have become mill stones around their necks. The Democrats can’t run on their legislative victories – it is a losing strategy. And the Democrats can’t run on their agenda – they’ve never announced one. But the voters have become much more sophisticated than in years past. The Democrats don’t have to announce an agenda. The entire country has got the Democratic agenda figured out. It is called socialism, if not just downright communism. And the voters want nothing to do with it. Expect the Democrats to lose a myriad of down ticket races this year as fed up voters vote straight party line tickets. The Congressional, Senate, and Governorship races are getting all the headlines, but the true seismic shift is going to occur at the local level. The Conservative ascendency is going to strike deep into local politics as Democratic county commissioners, city councilmen, mayors, school board members, and even judgeships and sheriffs are affected. It is the lower level races that have an organic effect upon the culture of the nation. And the Democrats are in for some major culture shock.

What is amazing in all of this is that the Democrats are like the proverbial ostrich with its head in the sand. They are in denial. They simply cannot cope with the fact that the electorate is rejecting them. With their ideological blinders still firmly in place they can’t get it through their skulls that the problem is their policies. Instead, the Democrats and their lapdogs, the Main Stream Media, are preaching that the problem is two-fold: 1) the marketing of the liberal message has been mishandled so that the people simply don’t understand them, and 2) the people are incapable of leading themselves and therefore do not recognize that they must be ruled over by elites that can better manage their affairs then they can themselves. It is this ideological super glue that binds the liberals together. It is why we see a virtual plethora of czars to rule our lives. It is why we see federal agencies snipping away at our freedoms through regulatory changes. It is why the incandescent light bulb will be illegal to be sold come 2012. It is why Michelle Obama is laying the groundwork for what we will be allowed to eat. It is why the IRS, effective January 1, 2011, is making it illegal to purchase Tylenol, Gas-X, Preparation H, Aleve, Pepto-Bismol, and a host of other non-prescription drugs with HSA and FSA cards – unless, of course we have a prescription. Talk about a contradiction in terms!

So here we are, two weeks until Election Day. Obama and his minions have tried every trick in their book and yet the Tea Party keeps right on marching on. Patriotism is on the ascendency. We are in the midst of a battle the likes of which this nation has never seen. We aren’t just fighting Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi, Barney Frank, Harry Reid, or even Alvin Greene. They are merely biological expressions of an evil philosophy that seeks to impose slavery upon us. These adherents to this philosophy are called communists, socialists, environmentalists, progressives, liberals, Democrats, and libturds. It doesn’t matter what the labels are. All that is required is that we recognize the enemies among us and join them in battle. We are greater than they. We are more motivated than they. They fight for tyranny. We fight for liberty. We will win for our cause is just.

I leave you with something to cheer your spirits as you march on to victory. Watch it, it will inspire you!

The Battle Hymn of the Republic

Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord:
He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored;
He hath loosed the fateful lightning of His terrible swift sword:
His truth is marching on.

Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
His truth is marching on

I have seen Him in the watch-fires of a hundred circling camps,
They have builded Him an altar in the evening dews and damps;
I can read His righteous sentence by the dim and flaring lamps:
His day is marching on.

I have read a fiery gospel writ in burnished rows of steel:
“As ye deal with my condemners, so with you my grace shall deal;

Let the Hero, born of woman, crush the serpent with His heel,
Since God is marching on.”

He has sounded forth the trumpet that shall never call retreat;
He is sifting out the hearts of men before His judgment-seat:
Oh, be swift, my soul, to answer Him! be jubilant, my feet!
Our God is marching on.

God Bless America

In the beauty of the lilies Christ was born across the sea,
With a glory in His bosom that transfigures you and me:
As He died to make men holy, let us die to make men free,
While God is marching on.

He is coming like the glory of the morning on the wave,
He is wisdom to the mighty, He is succor to the brave,
So the world shall be His footstool, and the soul of Time His slave,
Our God is marching on.

Amen. Let a major victory be won come November 2nd.

David Price Makes Largest TV Ad Buy in a Decade to Attack Challenger B.J. Lawson

Attempts to Paint Lawson as ‘Extreme,’ When Lawson is Echoing the Concerns and Sentiments of Majority of Voters

In a Press Release this afternoon the B.J. Lawson campaign stated  that David Price is making a huge ad buy in order to put attack ads on the air.

RALEIGH, N.C., Oct. 14 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — William (B.J.) Lawson, MD, Republican challenger to Rep. David Price inNorth Carolina’s Fourth District, is the object of new attack ads running on local TV stations. Price has made a significant TV expenditure for this election, something he has not done in over a decade. Price receives more than 50 percent of his contributions from special interests, while Lawson’s campaign has been funded by individual donors.

According to the release, some of the ads will seek to portray Lawson’s supporters and their ideology as extreme, some even focusing on Dr. Lawson’s desire to fundamentally reform the poorly functioning education system in the United States.

“David Price’s rhetoric clearly shows he is uncomfortable with regular people getting involved in politics. The Constitution isn’t a complicated document and it clearly says what the federal government should not be doing, but that would upset his big contributors. All we are doing is asking basic questions about the role of the federal government.

Dems Are Confused as to Why They Are Losing The Mid-Term Election Battle

Every one of the progressive leadership is running around making excuses for the “avalanche”, as George Soros put it, of inevitable Conservative wins.  Bill Clinton was out campaigning for Harry Reid and had this to say about it:

“You and I know the only reason this is a tough race is because people are having a tough time,” Clinton said. “When people are mad, it’s time to think.”[1]

So people are mad and now have started to think .. and because of that the former President surmises that Reid is losing.  Well, that much I agree with, but weren’t we thinking before?  Or did he mean that by electing Obama we weren’t thinking.  I still can’t read this guy, but I’m sure we’ll receive a definition of “thinking” shortly.

Obama is starting to do some self-examination as a possible cause.  Now, so close to the mid-terms, he’s admitting all sorts of mental errors in a Times Magazine interview where he said that he was

..too much like “the same old tax-and-spend Democrat,” realized too late that “there’s no such thing as shovel-ready projects” and perhaps should have “let the Republicans insist on the tax cuts” in the stimulus.

Suddenly he’s remorseful for having taken us from recession to near-depression?  For goading Congress into spending more than any President in history – and producing no positive results?  For deciding to raise taxes in terrible economic times?  Now he’s second-guessing his craptastic leadership?  Well, for the last one of his concerns, he’ll see those tax cuts back on his desk, let’s see just how sorry he is.

Maybe I have it wrong and the Dems really are starting to figure out that we’re pretty bright folks and we might have been right all along.  If that’s the case, then I really don’t get this explanation of why Democrats aren’t running on all the stuff that Obama seems now to be apologetic about.

Democrats aren’t running on the administration’s accomplishments like health-care and financial-regulatory overhaul and the stimulus because “it’s just too hard to explain,” Biden said.

Ah, we’re not smart enough to understand it.  Biden’s echoing of Pelosi’s sentiment that only the elites in D.C. know what’s good for us is ludicrous and insulting.  Insulting the electorate is not the way to go “Big F’Ing deal”-boy.

If Democrats are really soul-searching as to why they are going to lose big in the mid-terms, they have only to look at the men and women in the mirror.  They pushed the worst possible set of changes to the American health care system, they have held the spending controls in Congress since 2007, they have been pushing the largest tax increase in history, they pushed the idiotic, non-productive stimulus bill, etc.  Using the “party of no” argument against the GOP is not working.  If the party of no had prevented progressives from achieving anything, why do they have this huge list of failing “accomplishments” for which they are now making excuses.

This one is all on the far-left fringe.  They pulled their party to the left, the car fully in drive, with no regard to the cliff ahead.  Lean forward.. we’ll give you a “nudge”.

New Poll Shows Democrat Grijalva Faces Tough Re-Elect

On Monday, the Summit Consulting Group released a poll showing that Democrat Raul Grijalva could lose his seat in Congress to Republican candidate Ruth McClung.

Republican Challenger Ruth McClung Within Striking Distance

PHOENIX, AZ – A recent survey conducted by Phoenix-based Summit Consulting Group, Inc. shows four-term Democrat Congressman Raul Grijalva in a surprisingly tough re-election campaign against Republican Challenger Ruth McClung.

An automated survey conducted between October 4th and 5th among 1,807 likely general election voters shows McClung clearly within striking distance of beating Grijalva in Congressional District 7 which encompasses a large swath of southwestern Arizona.

When asked the question,

“In the upcoming general election for Congress, do you plan on supporting Democrat Raul Grijalva, Republican Ruth McClung, or are you undecided?”

The results were:

Raul Grijalva                  37%

Ruth McClung               39%

Undecided                    24%

Based on the results, McClung has locked down the Republican base, losing only 5% to Grijalva.  She earns 18% among Democrat voters and a whopping 42% among Independents.

The sample included voters who have participated in the last two general elections and was in line with the current voter registration numbers.   Democrats comprised 43%, Republican voters 24% and Independent, Party Not Determined and Other Party were 33% of the sample used.

The margin of error is +/-3%.

Obama: President or Campaigner-in-Chief?

The president’s job description, found in Article II of the Constitution, is a simple one. He is the Commander in Chief of the armed forces. He may nominate judges and ambassadors, and make treaties, with the Senate’s approval. He may “give to Congress information of the state of the union,” and “take care that the laws be faithfully executed”—and that’s about it.

Compare this short list of duties to President Obama’s actual activities this month: flying from state to state on Air Force One, attempting to persuade a disillusioned base that Democrats’ policies have helped the country despite all evidence to the contrary, blaming his predecessor for everything from the recession to the weather, and urging voters to get behind Democratic candidates on November 2. For the remainder of October, he will spend few, if any, full days in Washington.

In short, he is desperately trying to hang on to his majority, and has forsaken his legitimate, constitutional duties for the thrill of the campaign trail. Perhaps Obama is only reliving the glory days of his 2008 campaign—which is understandable, considering the level of public animosity towards him a mere two years later—but Americans are not paying him $400,000 per year (plus benefits) to campaign for his buddies.

Obama’s presidency will resume on November 3. Until then, he is the Campaigner-in-Chief of the Democratic Party.

Not that he’s the first, as students of political science will be quick to point out. Clinton campaigned extensively for Democrats in the months leading up to the election of 1994, which, from their perspective, turned out to be a disaster, and other presidents have talked up fellow party members in anticipation of mid-term thrashings, but does the fact that a thing has been done before make it right? Whether it is legal or not, should a sitting president place the welfare of his party before that of the American people?

No. Obama is the President of the United States, not the President of the Democratic Party, and he is paid by the taxpayers to look out for their best interests, not those of career politicians struggling to hold onto their seats. If he is to spend the month of October on the campaign trail, perhaps he should forfeit one-twelfth of his salary, and hand the reins of power to Vice President Biden. Better yet, he should stop campaigning and start doing his job.

Besides, there is no evidence that his backyard talks or staged town hall meetings (which are sponsored by the Democratic National Committee and filled with friendly supporters) will have a positive effect on the mid-term election. Some analysts suspect he’s doing more harm than good, as was probably the case last year when Republicans won a round of special elections, despite Obama’s vocal support for their opponents. This fall, the president’s tour of the country has been marked by silent crowds and frustrated supporters who don’t know what to make of their savior’s failure to keep his campaign promises—and not all are naïve enough to buy into his “Republicans are blocking progress” defense.

If Republicans are as successful next month as they hope to be, and reclaim the House and—less likely—the Senate, Obama will have two years to waste as a “lame duck” president, a figurehead ignored by both Congress and the American people. He’ll have plenty of time in which to enjoy his new hobby, traveling the country and complaining about patriots, which seems to fit his personal version of the president’s job description.

Arizona District 7 Upset – Grijalva May Lose to McClung

AZ-7 has been thought safe from the left side of the isle for quite some time.  Some of Obama’s “Change” may have come to town as the race is now considered to be a dead heat.  Conservatives, get ready – Ruth McClung needs your support, effort, money and most-of-all, your vote.

I ran across this post at theotherMcCain.com where Stacy McCain references Politico.com

Raul Grijalva getting beat by Ruth McClungAdd Rep. Raul Grijalva to the growing list of Democratic worries this election season.
Party operatives say there’s increasing concern that theArizona Democrat’s reelection bid could turn into a “sleeper” race for Republicans after Grijalva — responding to enactment of a tough new immigration law — called for an economic boycott of his own state amid a housing crisis and record unemployment.
Four Democratic sources from different parts of the country said that there is new attention to a race that was long considered in the bag.
And a recent poll, obtained by POLITICO, found thatGrijalva and Republican challenger Ruth McClung, a real-life rocket scientist, were in a dead heat, even though Washington prognosticators have declared the deep-blue seat safely Democratic.
As they work to buttress their majority against a coming Republican storm, Democrats can ill afford to spend time or resources defending incumbents in seats where they should have a clear advantage. But the Grijalva seat potentially being in play is a sign of the increasingly expanding Republican playing fieldfor the midterm elections. . . .

Just as Stacy points out, you absolutely must read the whole article.

Grijalvo has managed to actually turn against his own constituents, ignore the will of the people that voted for him and somehow stay in power?  Arizona .. this is your wake-up call.  If Stacy’s post wasn’t enough, I found this gem on AceofSpadesHQ.

While Ace focuses at first on looks, which I agree, Raul loses hands-down, the article continues to make some strong points.  He talks about a politco.com article where the Democrats are showing just how much of a bind McClung has put Grijalva into.

Add Rep. Raul Grijalva to the growing list of Democratic worries this election season.Party operatives say there’s increasing concern that the Arizona Democrat’s reelection bid could turn into a “sleeper” race for Republicans after Grijalva — responding to enactment of a tough new immigration law — called for an economic boycott of his own state amid a housing crisis and record unemployment.

So if you are someone that supports

  • Creating jobs
  • Protecting small businesses
  • Balancing the federal budget
  • Lowering taxes
  • Limiting government
  • Protecting Social Security
  • Improving education
  • Protecting our national security
  • Securing our borders
  • Defending our freedoms
  • Supporting our military and veterans
  • Protecting life and family
  • Repealing Obamacare then reforming healthcare

Then you should head over to Ruth McClung for Congress and find a way to support, donate, or at a minimum vote for the best candidate in the Arizona district 7 house race.

Too Much Love Killing Obama’s Chances in Midterm Elections

I’m just the pieces of the man I used to be
Too many bitter tears are raining down on me
I’m far away from home
And I’ve been facing this alone
For much too long
– Queen Guitarist Brian May

Too Much Love Will Kill You

The story goes that Brian May was watching TV in his living room when Poof! Freddie Mercury appears from out of nowhere. Brian, both shocked and startled, cries “Freddie! How did you manage that?” To which Freddie replies “Well little did you know, Brian, but I practiced in the ancient art of voodoo for many years on the QT.” Brian, confused, says “Voodoo, Freddie? What’s Voodoo?” Freddie answered “It’s A Kind of Magic…”

During the 2008 election cycle Barack Obama had a kind of magic, too. But it didn’t last. Yes, Obama is now just the pieces of the man he used to be – and we’re really broken up about it. Carefully molded from childhood by his socialist masters, Obama was raised up for the role in which he currently stars – or more precisely, the role in which he most recently starred. Note the past tense. It was like a fairy tale. As a young lad, Obama was enrolled at the prestigious Punahou School in Hawaii. Punahou, a private college preparatory school, was also the scene of Obama’s initiation into drug abuse, what Obama described as his “greatest moral failure.” We beg to differ, Obama. You’ve had bigger moral failures since then – More about that later.

Obama proceeded on to Occidental College, Columbia University, and Harvard Law School. At each school he dipped ever deeper into the morass of revolutionary socialist doctrine. By the time he reached the Illinois State Senate he had perfected the practice of voting “present.” His elections to the United States Senate and then as President of the United States were seen as evidence of a rising star in the liberal galaxy. He was hailed as the Messiah, a man sent to redeem mankind from conservative politics. He stood upon the waters and the ocean receded. He stretched forth his arms and the earth was healed. We were blessed by his very presence. Every time Obama deigned to open his mouth there was another triumph for communism. He burped and voila! ObamaCare was born. He belched, and financial regulation was overhauled. He farted, and mortgages were subsidized, distilled upon us like the very dews from Heaven.

But then a funny thing happened on his way to The Lap of The Gods. Obama, a legend in his own mind, kept strutting his stuff for all to see. But the man who considered himself greater than Freddie Mercury and thought his voice superior to Freddie’s, soon began to slide in the charts. Bitter tears began to rain down upon him. There were rumors about him and Larry Sinclair that allegedly…well, you know, unsubstantiated involved a Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy. And then there was another rumor involving Vera Baker, that allegedly, uh…not going there either. And then, far away from home in Kenya, Indonesia, or wherever the Hell he was spawned, Barry allegedly had an interview with the famous music critic, PolarCoug. The rest was history.

PolarCoug: “Barry, I served with Freddie Mercury, I knew Freddie Mercury. Freddie Mercury was a friend of mine. Barry, you’re no Freddie Mercury!”

Obama: “That was really uncalled for, PolarCoug.”

PolarCoug: “You are the one that was making the comparison, Barry – and I’m one who knew him well, and frankly I think you are so far apart in the tunes you choose to be measured by that I did not think the comparison was well-taken.”

The rest was history. The man with apparent perfect pitch was revealed to his vast audience as merely a Freddie wannabe, singing to his teleprompter, which kept crashing at the most inopportune moments. And before long, another one bit the dust.

I feel like no-one ever told the truth to me
About growing up and what a struggle it would be
In my tangled state of mind
I’ve been looking back to find
Where I went wrong
– Queen Guitarist Brian May

Where you went wrong, Barry? Sheesh. Like you gotta’ ask.

Barry came from a dysfunctional family and now he has created one of his own. Just an aside, but Hitler came from a dysfunctional family, too. Perhaps Barry felt like a Dog with a Bone. Perhaps his sex poodle is just Stone Cold Crazy.

Too much love will kill you
If you can’t make up your mind
Torn between the lover
And the love you leave behind
– Queen Guitarist Brian May

It can really be hard making up your mind, can’t it Barry? Just ask our troops in Afghanistan about it while you were dithering on the surge. Guys were dying while you tried to leverage the issue into political points. And then finally, belatedly, you decided that The Show Must Go On.

You’re headed for disaster
‘cos you never read the signs
Too much love will kill you
Every time
– Queen Guitarist Brian May

Coming right at ya’ Barry. November 2nd. Mark it on your calendar. And two years later you’ll be Sleeping On The Sidewalk along with all of your groupies.

I’m just the shadow of the man I used to be
And it seems like there’s no way out of this for me
I used to bring you sunshine
Now all I ever do is bring you down
– Queen Guitarist Brian May

No kidding! Nobody even wants you to campaign for them! You bring down anybody you come into contact with, Barry. You’re positively radioactive. Whatever, Barry, I know you hate the outdoors, but the Rain Must Fall.

How would it be if you were standing in my shoes
Can’t you see that it’s impossible to choose
No there’s no making sense of it
Every way I go I’m bound to lose
– Queen Guitarist Brian May

Correctomundo, Barry. You’re a loser. It’s time for the Hammer To Fall.

Too much love will kill you
Just as sure as none at all
It’ll drain the power that’s in you
Make you plead and scream and crawl
And the pain will make you crazy
You’re the victim of your crime
Too much love will kill you
Every time
– Queen Guitarist Brian May

The midterm elections are upon you, Barry. Remember how you told the congressional Dems that they would all get re-elected if only they would vote for ObamaCare? Didn’t quite work out as planned, did it Barry. They’re all pleading and screaming and crawling to the finish line, aren’t they, Barry. Yeah, the pain will make you crazy, Barry.  You’re the victim of your own crimes. Now you are stuck in somebody’s backyard with your buddy Joe Biden, and you’re asking yourselves, Is This The World We Created?

Too much love will kill you
It’ll make your life a lie
Yes, too much love will kill you
And you won’t understand why
You’d give your life, you’d sell your soul
But here it comes again
Too much love will kill you
In the end…
– Queen Guitarist Brian May

You gave up your life in the quest for communism, Barry. You sold your soul for a shot at fundamentally transforming America. BOHICA, Barry. Here it comes again. Like Barney Frank would probably tell you…too much love will kill you…IN THE END.  But try to endure it, Barry, because Pain Is So Close to Pleasure, and the end is coming on November 2nd.

In the end. – Queen Guitarist Brian May

This time, we’ve got you, Barry. We’re going to roll right over you in a few days, Barry. Heck, if she were still around we would Tie Your Mother Down. It is going to be downright glorious, Barry. These are the days of our lives. We’re sorry about that, Barry. We know you are Under Pressure. But, so what, Barry. Who needs you? You know what, Barry. You Don’t Fool Me.  You Take My Breath Away with your lies, Barry. I will never be able to think that You’re My Best Friend.

You, lie, Barry. You Liar!

Ronald Reagan was the best politician of our age. Bambi is not in that league. Get out and vote, America! Freedom is coming to a ballot box near you on November 2nd, 2010.

The Bob Ethridge North Carolinians Know Now

Bob Ethridge and Nancy Pelosi - Brids of a featherOne of CDN’s readers turned me on to this site that finally shows Bob Ethridge the way the rest of us in North Carolina have come to know him – D.C. Bob.  He is the establishment and could care less about us hard-working, middle-class Americans.

From: The Real Bob Ethridge

NC Bob, the Bob Etheridge you see when he is campaigning back home in North Carolina Congressional District 2, is not the same as DC Bob, the politician who votes in Washington. NC Bob’s rhetoric rarely matches DC Bob’s voting record. Be sure you know both Bobs before you vote in November.

The site is well put together and is home to a wealth of verifiable information on D.C. Bob.  The top ten list from the site says it all:

Top Ten Reasons to Vote for the Real Bob Etheridge

10.  Want to basically elect Nancy Pelosi without having to move all the way to San Francisco.

9.   You have too much money and wish the government would take more.

8.   Constitutional rights are scary and you want someone to defend you from them.

7.  The government is just too darn small.

6.  You want to leave lots of debt for our grandchildren to remember us by.

5. You love his environmental plan to raise prices on fuel and reduce everyone’s carbon footprint by making sure people don’t have jobs to drive to.

4. It’s time for a harsh crackdown on people who dare ask their Representative a question.

3. You really want to wastefully spend your money, but don’t have the time and need someone else to do it for you.

2. You’re a little suspicious of your doctor and would rather lawyers in D.C. make your medical decisions.

1. You fully support the Obama agenda.

The site is invaluable if you are trying to understand who Bob Ethridge really is or if you need help to inform family members and friends as to what a vote for D.C. Bob means.  Please visit theRealBobEthridge.com for yourself to see his record on taxes, healthcare, spending, and Jobs – he’s basically Nancy Pelosi’s yes man.

Open Letter to Barney Frank on OneUnited

From Sean Bielat for Congress:

Barney Frank for Congress
PO Box 260
Newton, MA 02460

October 8, 2010

Representative Frank,

I appreciate that we’ve now become good pen pals. Since you seem to have developed a new fondness for responding to constituents, I would like to draw your attention to some questions I posed back in August which have yet to be answered. It would also be enlightening to hear your responses to the several questions I posed in my response letter yesterday.

The questions I asked in August involve a matter of public trust. You have admitted to playing a role in helping a failed bank, OneUnited, secure a $12,000,000 taxpayer-funded bailout for which they did not originally qualify. You wrote legislation that allowed OneUnited to “cook the books” and claim more stated capital than they actually had in order to receive a bailout. The Washington Post described the episode this way:

“So a dodgy bank with little going for it except access to powerful members of Congress gets $12 million for no evident public purpose and with little chance taxpayers will ever see that money again. Those responsible insist that, according to prevailing norms in the nation’s capital, they did nothing wrong. Worst of all, they might be telling the truth.”

A number of serious questions about your involvement remain. The public has a right to know:

1. After Rep. Maxine Waters came to you and admitted she was violating Congressional ethics
rules, why did you agree to take over the task of bailing out her husband’s bank for her?

2. By offering to take over the task for her, you implicitly acknowledged in your conversation
with Rep. Maxine Waters that her involvement represented multiple ethics violations. Did you
address the violations directly with her? Did you warn her that she was engaging in illegal and
unethical conduct?

3. Why did you not immediately report Rep. Maxine Waters’ ethical violations (and potentially
criminal conduct) to your party’s leadership and the appropriate authorities?

4. Why did you personally return the phone call of disgraced State Senator Dianne Wilkerson
who has been recently convicted on federal bribery charges?

5. When you spoke with Wilkerson, what did you discuss?

6. When was the decision made to funnel more than $12 million to a failed bank that was
recently cited by federal regulators for poor business practices and executive compensation

7. What were the factors that went into the decision to bail out the bank when it clearly did not
qualify for a taxpayer-funded bailout?

8. How long have you known that the bank was owned by Rep. Maxine Waters’ wealthy friends
and campaign donors who used depositor funds to purchase a $6 million beach house and a
Porsche for executives to use?

9. Please describe in detail the due diligence that you and your staff undertook before agreeing
to bail out this bank with hard-earned taxpayer dollars.

10. Given that the requests for your help came from a convicted state legislator and an ethically-challenged Congresswoman, why did you not instruct your office to cease and desist any efforts with regard to the matter?”

I hope your response comes as quick as your last letter. You constituents are waiting.

Sean Bielat

P.S. You’re answer on how best to save Social Security seems to be “do nothing and hope for the best.” Are you writing these letters because you’re looking for policy advice? If so, feel free to drop by our Newton office any time.

New Sharron Angle Ad: Big Clue

October 7,2010: The Sharron Angle for Senate campaign released a new ad entitled, “Big Clue.” The ad details Harry Reid’s record of spending $787 billion on a failed stimulus package, supporting taxpayer-funded benefits for illegal aliens, and voting to use taxpayer dollars for Viagra for convicted child molesters and sex offenders. Reid’s troubling record shows how out-of-touch he is with everyday Nevadans struggling in this economic crisis.

Chris Coons – The Real Nut Job in the Delaware Senate Race

Political hacks have been making much out of Christine O’Donnell’s young adult activities.  I finally ran across a post at the American Spectator that digs into what her Democrat opponent, Chris Coons, was doing in his young adult life.

Answer? He was in Africa volunteering for the South African Council of Churches, a group that holds to the self-same Black Liberation Theology philosophy preached by James Cone and Jeremiah Wright. The philosophy that has at its core the principles of “Marxism dressed up as Christianity.” The philosophy that is at the very heart of the Obama administration and its actions since taking office two years ago.

The philosophy that Coons will undoubtedly all-too-eagerly represent if he is elected as an Obama Democrat to the seat once held by Obama Vice President Joe Biden of Delaware.

David Weigel over at the liberal Slate is not alone in noting:

But check out Coons’ message! In a Democratic state, he does not mention that he is a Democrat. We learn that he balanced the budget, cut spending, and cut his salary. That’s what Jim DeMint would do if we gave him New Castle County, isn’t it?

Imagine that.

Chris Coons can’t even bring himself to mention he’s a Democrat in supposedly Blue State Delaware. So how exactly would the realization that he went out of his way to support a group advocating liberation theology be received in Delaware? And a liberal columnist is — really — trying to compare him to South Carolina’s conservative Republican Senator Jim DeMint?

Do you think Jim DeMint would have volunteered to go to Africa in his twenties and volunteer for a group selling liberation theology — “Marxism dressed up as Christianity”?

Of course not.

It is exactly the same socialist vision of wealth redistribution preached by Jeremiah Wright in Barack Obama’s Trinity Church for twenty years while the future president sat in those pews. It is exactly the vision behind the policy and personnel of the Obama administration — from Van Jones the now-departed self-described Communist and White House Green Jobs czar to Mark Lloyd the Hugo Chavez-admiring FCC diversity czar to Anita Dunn the Mao-quoting ex-White House aide to Ron Bloom the SEIU negotiator turned “manufacturing czar” to Carol Browner, a leader in the climate-change division of the “Socialist International” turned Obama global warming czar to the nationalized health care admiring Medicare administrator Donald Berwick to the social justice-promoting consumer activist Elizabeth Warren and on and on — right into the Oval Office and President Barack Obama himself.[1]

And if that wasn’t enough, here is the same apologetic, Marxist garbage coming from Coons as we get from Obama all too regularly.

Perhaps more should be seen in Coons’ statement that his experiences in Africa “warned me that my own favorite beliefs in the miracles of free enterprise and the boundless opportunities to be had in America were largely untrue.”[1]

Snake. Grass. The End.

Debbie Wasserman-Schultz- Her Final Economic Grade Before the Mid-Term Elections is a Big, Fat “F”

After Four Years of Control of Congress, Her Reckless Economic Policies Have Serious Consequences South Florida’s Small Businesses

Pembroke Pines, FL. –   Whenever the topic of the economy is addressed by Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, she can always be counted on to blame others for failed economic results, and she has never accepted responsibility for what has occurred during her tenure in Congress.  But now that the “Summer of Recovery” has concluded and has shown itself to be a public relations fiasco and a failure in terms of real economic results- the time has come for Debbie Wasserman-Schultz to account for her record to the voters.  Unfortunately, Debbie Wasserman-Schultz will never level with the American people and admit responsibility for the failed economic results that have occurred on her watch, and she will continue to spin, misinform, and deceive the public in order to maintain her grasp on power.

The economic policies that Debbie Wasserman-Schultz has supported, which constitute an unprecedented amount of government interference in the American private sector- replete with bailouts, unsustainable federal spending, a failed “stimulus” plan; government takeovers of banks, auto and insurance companies, and student loans; and the massively unpopular takeover over our healthcare system- have literally left our economy on the brink.

Debbie Wasserman-Schultz and Democrats took control of Congress in January of 2007.  Here’s what her policies have left in their wake:

·    The Democrat-controlled Congress has amassed more debt in the last four years than nearly the previous 230 years combined

·    National Unemployment Rate has climbed from 5.0 to 9.6 percent

·    The “Real” Unemployment Rate (U6) measuring unemployed people who are actively seeking work – skyrockets from 8.3 to 17.1 percent

·    Florida’s Unemployment Rate- Spikes from 3.7 to 11.7 Percent

·    The Failure of the “Stimulus” Plan- approximately 3 million American jobs have been lost since the passage of the “Recovery” Act in February 2009

·    The Number of Americans receiving food stamps was 41.8 million in July 2010– up almost 10 million people since Jan. 2009

·    Middle-class Americans have made their deepest spending cuts in more than two decades, slashing spending on such discretionary items as restaurant meals and alcohol during the recession

·    The poorest Americans are spending more as prices increase for necessities like food and rental housing

·    72,000 “stimulus” checks were sent to the deceased and the incarcerated

The bottom line for our national economy:  as the poor and middle class are forced to make substantial cutbacks to their household budgets, our federal government does just the opposite with its budget, and continues with its reckless fiscal policies that very much jeopardize our nation’s prosperity.

“The policies of Debbie Wasserman Schultz are holding the American economy hostage, and persisting with these same failed policies will only result in further damage to our economy that could take years to recover from,” said Karen Harrington, candidate for Congress in Florida’s 20th Congressional District. “Debbie Wasserman-Schultz does not understand that excessive taxation and regulation causes fear and uncertainty that does   enormous damage to both household budgets and to small business owners.  Americans have a clear choice in November- continue with the failed policies of Debbie Wasserman-Schultz that will lead to further economic ruin and dependency on government, or return to fiscally responsible policies that allow the ingenuity and industriousness of small businesses to lead us out of the economic wasteland that Debbie Wasserman-Schultz has led us into for the last four years,” said Harrington.
