Trump isn't the only thing stinking at the ION/Newsmax debate

On December 27th, some of the remaining GOP Presidential candidates will be debating on the ION network co-sponsored by Newsmax.

Much of the recent bluster has been about the moderator – Donald Trump, but he’s not the only poor choice Newsmax and ION have made. Former CNN News Division Chief Eason Jordan will be one of the producers of the event.

Mr. Jordan was pressured to resign from CNN in 2005 after making statements that our troops in Iraq were deliberately targeting and killing journalists. At the World Economic Forum, Mr. Jordan said “he knew of about 12 journalists who had not only been killed by American troops, but had been targeted as a matter of policy,” said Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass) who was on the “Will Democracy Survive the Media?” panel with Mr. Jordan.

CNN then furiously spun the comments as having been misconstrued and “taken out of context” by a few bloggers. In the end, Mr. Jordan’s tenure at CNN came to an end.

That’s only the most recent of Eason’s mis-steps. His time in CNN’s Baghdad bureau was tarnished by his cover-up of Saddam’s violent and murderous acts against Iraqis and his own bureau’s staff – all so that he wouldn’t lose his position at the bureau.

Eason is no great model of integrity. Add on Trump and you have a debate more fit to be a circus side-show than a Presidential event.

I don’t blame Jon Huntsman and Ron Paul one bit for passing on this debate. I won’t be watching either – and I haven’t missed one yet.

Falling for the Tough Talk

In the times in which we live, an unfortunate fact of life is that we on the right must battle not only the Democrats, but their biased media as well.

This phenomenon is quite discouraging on many different levels. One of the side effects of the media treatment is that most conservatives don’t speak with any level of righteous indignation in press conferences and interviews, fearing the media criticism that would follow. The result of this is when a Republican speaks with appropriate anger towards Democrats and the media, he or she seems to gain quite a following.

Donald Trump burst on the scene in early 2011 announcing that he was considering running for president as a Republican. The most interesting thing about this prospect was Donald Trump’s past liberalism, his large campaign donations to numerous Democrats, and most recently, his having supported Hillary Clinton in 2008. But despite these should-be debilitating facts, Trump still managed to gain some traction.

The massive news coverage was garnered based on the billionaire’s constant focus on the obscure issue of President Obama’s birth certificate, with few actual rational criticisms. As Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) said in jest regarding Trump’s focus on the “birther” issue and liberal history, “I want to see the original long form certificate, with embossed seal, of Donald Trump’s Republican registration.”

Eventually Trump’s charade was up and he admitted he wasn’t going to run for president after all. Trump was getting absolutely slaughtered in polls versus Obama, but that wasn’t the reason he declined to run; he never had any intention to run at any point. The whole event was a massive publicity stunt. So, why did Trump ever get support from a portion of voters on the right? This is likely because of Trump’s directed anger at Obama, China, and OPEC.

It’s no secret that Republican voters love to talk about how great America is and how they believe in American Exceptionalism. When they see foreign powers rising as America falters, its a natural reaction for them to focus their disdain at them. Trump’s tough talk on China gave his supporters a personal sense of patriotism to see a strong figure “stand up” for his country. This is in spite of the economic and diplomatic damage that would’ve been caused by a trade war with China. Americans have also grown tired of Obama’s assault on domestic oil drilling, which has raised oil prices, killed American jobs, and made us even more dependent on the ever hostile Middle East for our energy supply. This issue is another reason why some Republicans supported Trump. Trump wanted to confront OPEC and cuss them out, as he put on display in a speech. It doesn’t matter that the result of this action would’ve at best been no result and at worst, raised oil prices, the reason it got him support was because Americans don’t like OPEC.

Trump’s next idea that some conservatives supported was making foreign nations pay us for our troop presence in their respective countries as well as Iraq paying us back for the war in oil. The silver lining to this idea is that at least some on the right have inadvertently admitted that we can’t afford to have all our troops in so many different countries. It also admits that the Iraq war wasn’t really worth the blood and treasure so we want our money back in the form of a resource, so we can at least financially break even. Republicans liked these ideas because: they generally like an expansive foreign policy with hundreds of bases abroad and cheaper oil prices; and they don’t like excessively large deficits. Now the unfortunate part of the proposals, that apparently didn’t matter to the Trump supporters, were that: 1) Our troops would effectively be international mercenaries instead of being used to uphold their oath to protect and defend the US Constitution. And 2) In the case of the Iraq War, you can’t really force payment for a service that was never requested. Iraq didn’t ask us to attack them and occupy them for 8+ years, thus we can’t just take $2+ trillion worth of their oil reserves. The analogy I like use to describe this idea is: I’m your neighbor and I decide you need some yard work done, despite us not having discussed this. So I go out and mow the lawn, rake and bag the leaves, edge your driveway and etc. My wife and kids are unhappy that I’ve been busy all day and spent money we had planned for other things buying the supplies to do your yard work. So then I decide to take your microwave, toaster, and other household appliances for my efforts.

As you can see, its a pretty good thing that Trump is gone from the presidential scene. Unfortunately, other charlatans parading as conservatives appear to have taken his place. Newt Gingrich for example has been the latest candidate to take his turn surging in the polls. Newt’s sudden popularity is the latest example of the short attention span of the average American voters. Newt is without a doubt a smart guy, I don’t think anyone questions that. But I have to stop myself from committing unspeakable acts every time I hear the platitude that Newt is, “the smartest man in the room”. As Ann Coulter has said, she thinks that Newt is the person who started the rumor that Newt Gingrich is the “smartest man in the room”.

Newt admitted he didn’t see the housing bubble coming (doesn’t have a firm grasp on economics) and has supported an individual healthcare mandate (in his defense he says the Heritage Foundation did as well, which is correct, and this is a chief reason that I don’t blindly take Heritage’s word on issues). Newt has also supported Cap N Trade and he thinks that FDR is one of the nation’s greatest presidents, the New Deal was a success, and that FDR belongs on Mt. Rushmore.

Newt in the past few years has also urged the US to take military action against North Korea. More recently, in the Heritage Foundation’s Foreign Policy debate, Newt came out in favor of conditional amnesty. So how does one with such a terrible record get increasing support among conservatives? The “lack of other alternatives” answer may have some merit, but I think its because of how Newt takes on the media and Obama.

Newt is to debating as what Ronald Reagan was to addressing the American people. Newt’s skill in the debates is that he can offer many simple policy solutions in the 60 seconds he has to answer. Newt possesses quick wit and has bashed the media in interviews/debates, which has contributed to his recent success. Apparently humor and expressing anger at unpopular entities can take you far. So far that they may actually be able to make people who pride themselves on being unemotional on policy issues, unlike their liberal counterparts, and have them forget all of Newt’s storied and terrible past, which is exactly what Newt would like. Newt is quite adept at warding off criticisms of himself in debates by lashing out at the moderators and refocusing criticisms at President Obama instead of at himself or other Republicans. Newt’s strategy of not attacking other candidates has been successful in that he has largely avoided criticism coming from the others in return. The result of this “good-natured” tactic is that the top two Republican front runners are the two with the most political baggage.

Perhaps Newt has genuinely changed and supports none of those ideas currently. But, given that he’s supported a number of terrible ideas in the past, can we trust his first judgment? If President Bush came back and said, “Wow guys, I’m sorry about Iraq, Medicare Part D, No Child Left Behind, and the $5T in debt I added; I’ve had an epiphany and I’ve seen the error of my ways”. That would be great, but his ability to admit mistakes years out of office isn’t really good for anything. We still have all his policies and their lasting effects as constant reminders to stay vigilant even during Republican administrations. The question we must ask ourselves is, “Can we trust that Newt, even if he no longer supports Cap N Trade + Individual Mandates, won’t have an equally terrible idea that he’ll push and get passed that we’ll be stuck with?” Personally, my answer to the question is no, because I, to quote The Who, “Won’t get fooled again.” Regardless of your own answer to the question, please make sure its not because you fell for the tough talk.

'The Donald' Won't Rule Out Running against 'The One'

Billionaire Donald Trump is promoting his new book:

‘Time To Get Tough: Making America #1 Again’

(Great Title, btw)

In the book he reveals that he was/is so serious about challenging Barack Obama for the Presidency that he had the Financial Disclosure documents required to make that run prepared. He is worth an estimated $7 Billion which is much more than most people would have thought, Trump is routinely believed to have inflated his net worth in the past. $3 Billion of his net worth is the ‘Trump’ Brand itself.

Good for him, as a New Yorker would say, He’s done well for himself, I’m happy for him.

Now as to him running, presumably 3rd Party, and ensuring Barack Obama’s Re-Election…

I’ve long said that if Trump runs I will found, manage, spearhead and crush him with a Grass Roots Campaign that I will call:

4/11 Barbers for Truth

I’ve selected the color of 4/11 Barbers for Truth to approximate the odd color of Mr. Trumps variegated locks.

4/11 Barbers for Truth will, once and for all, get to the truth about Mr. Trump’s hairline(s).

  1. Where do they truly begin?
  2. How many of them are there?
  3. Has Melania ever seen him after a shower?
  4. How much of the Federal Budget will be dedicated to Hair Products?
  5. How has he managed to avoid the wind all these years?

I promise you that is only the beginning of the questions we will pursue as vigorously as he avoids windy, rainy days.

Personally, I think he’s just doing what ‘The Donald’ does best; Pimping the Trump Brand.

But it is possible that he thinks a Run for the White House would Burnish the Brand even more. If he runs he will find out that 4/11 Barbers for Truth will be more cutting on his reputation than he can imagine… Edward Scissorhands ain’t got nothin’ on us.

I implore Mr. Trump not to force our hand.

Donald Trump Plays The Race Card So Hard He Nearly Breaks His Hand

First off, this headline is hyperbole in the sense that I assume Mr. Trump’s hand is doing just fine.  It is not, however, hyperbole in the sense of The Donald playing the race card.  Watch this video below as he says that Jon Stewart “probably should” be taken off the air for some comments that Trump believes to be racist.

What do you guys think?  Is The Donald’s hair piece too tight?  Or does he have a point?  For context, you can find the Jon Stewart video he’s talking about right here.

Let us know in the comments below.  Or maybe you can go by Trump’s office and tell him yourself.  It’s not like he seems to be busy or anything.

The New China Syndrome

When hearing a number of conservative (some real, some alleged) figures speak about China, the tone and rhetoric are usually a mix of concern, anger and fear. Donald Trump, one of the alleged conservatives, has spoken at length on the issue, which is probably a chief reason why he gained some traction while contemplating a run for president. Trump has lambasted China for manipulating their currency and “stealing our jobs”. To be clear, China has seen a number of American companies open up facilities there; but I hesitate to calling it “stealing” when we generally push our businesses their way. China, a partially communist country, has a lower corporate tax rate and much fewer regulations than the supposedly capitalist United States. In that sense, its our fault, not their's.

Does China manipulate their currency? Yes, they certainly do. Do we manipulate our currency? Yes, we certainly do. Is the federal reserve endlessly printing money economically beneficial or does it have a brief minor stimulative effect before damaging an economy long term? Most people would agree that its the latter. So if us doing it has negative effects on ourselves, how does China do it to their long term benefit?

China also gets talked up by President Obama as a nation that has invested in “green energy” and that if we don't also invest in green energy, we'll fall behind them. First, China does have a fair amount of factories producing green energy products; and not coincidentally GE has exported a large number of jobs there (yes, that’s correct, our President's chief economic adviser has outsourced thousands of jobs overseas). China also actively builds as many coal power plants as it possibly can. According to the BBC, China is the world's worst polluter; this is not a nation we should always take our cues from. In 2007, a study released by the World Bank has shown that 760,000 people die yearly from pollution related illnesses. But back to green energy briefly, I don't want to insinuate that I hate green energy, because I don't. What I hate is paying billions yearly to companies that produce products that don't work or people don't want. If green energy had such great potential, why do companies need the government to invest in it, wouldn't investors be lining up to make money in such a terrific venture? I am still curious what the realistic expectations from when solar/wind has been sufficiently explored; as far as I know, they aren't expected to be a main source of energy, just complimenting main energy sources. My next question is, why don't we let China dump tons of money into green energy, and if they come up with a product that works, our companies will begin improving on their methods and creating a better product. If not, and so far green energy has been a money sink, then the joke is on them; they've wasted billions of dollars in mal-investments.

Another fear is that China's military is growing stronger and has started to use advanced technology. China spent $100 billion last year on their military budget, the US by comparison is proposing a national defense expenditures of over $950 billion. In terms of money spent, they won't overtake us for a long while. At the moment, China has no bases outside of its borders and hasn't expressed plans to do so. If in the event this does happen, one can expect conservative talk radio to be paranoid and abuzz for weeks, but in my opinion this offers us an opportunity. China has been pressuring North Korea to quit threatening everyone with nuclear war, being as they are in the region, they have quite an interest in stability. If China is dumb enough to ever want to put military bases in locations that we currently police, we can give them the reins to the costly burden we currently carry. If they want to spend tens of billions to put bases in the Korea's and such, we should not only let them, we should encourage them. If needed we can pull the “rope a dope” and fund insurgents to bog them down, however we should be grateful we've found an idiot willing to pay the full cost of an expensive liability that yields no tangible benefits.

Lastly, another of Trump's main issues was the trade war with China. Trump proposed a 20% tariff on Chinese imports. Now, if our goal was to stick it to them, that would be one way of doing it. The problem though is that the goods purchased here by our lower income citizens would cost 20% more, a burden which they cannot afford. Worse, as was caused by the Smoot-Hawley tariff under Hoover, a trade war would likely ensue and China would put a 20%+ tariff on their imports; harming not only our companies but our diplomatic relations. So the best analogy I can think of to this whole 20% tariff on Chinese goods would be comparing it to the Middle Eastern punishment for thievery, which is cutting off the thief's hand. Except when the enforcer went to cut off the thief's hand, he accidentally cuts his hand off as well. Actually its a bit worse than that, because the Great Depression saw the harmful consequences of protectionism and trade wars, so really it'd be more like the enforcer seeing an instructional video of what to avoid doing when severing hands, and still screwing it up anyway.

Do not conclude from this writing that I am a fan of China. As a libertarian, I despise a collectivist state that crushes the individual and China assuredly is that. It is natural for Americans to resent China, as they see our nation's power and prominence transfer to China, in a tragic “changing of the guard” ceremony. But trade agreements only work if they are beneficial to both nations, and our trading with China is mutually beneficial. Spiting them will only cause diminished prosperity in both nations and besides, you don't really want to get on the bad side of your main creditor/a rising power. As Calvin Coolidge once said, “Don't expect to build up the weak by tearing down the strong”. China's rise doesn't have to be America's fall. Be skeptical of all governmental action, foreign and domestic, but don't let irrational fears cause irrational actions.

Washington Post Creates False Conflict Between O’Donnell and NBC

Lawrence O'DonnellChris Mathews washed out and got replaced. Lawrence O’Donnell is quickly on his way to washing out and getting cancelled. To create a fake controversy, The Washington Post wrote a story about the conflict that wasn’t.

O’Donnell criticized the network that employs him for continuing to host Trump’s “The Apprentice”. On O’Donnell’s MSNBC show, “The Last Word”, he said, ““NBC has created a monster and it is called Donald Trump,” and he continued by calling the Donald “the most deranged egomaniac in the history of the NBC Entertainment division”. O’Donnell brought up the tired assertions that Trump is a birther and called the Trumpster’s actions sleazy.

Where WaPo comes in is in it’s attempt to raise O’Donnell to media hero status for having said such brave things against the NBC star.

After his very public broadside against his employer, he waited for a reaction. And waited. But there were no angry calls from NBC executives, no take-him-to-the-woodshed meetings at 30 Rock, MSNBC’s home. “We didn’t get a single call” from the brass, O’Donnell says, a sly smile breaking across his lips.

The non-reaction bespeaks either the network’s tolerance for self-embarrassment or O’Donnell’s critical importance to MSNBC.

Wow. The experts at creating straw men to knock them down, the Washington Post (you’ve seen the ridiculous “5 myths” crap from them right?), is now putting the absolute failure of a commentator that is Lawrence O’Donnell on a pedestal because NBC didn’t respond to him criticizing Trump??

The Washington Post is quickly becoming supermarket tabloid material. News Flash WaPo, EVERYONE is already criticizing Donal Trump. It was a show boat move on his part. He never intended to run. We all got that months ago.

Granted, the Post did publish it on Friday when everyone’s busy doing everything other than reading news. It still doesn’t hide that absolute bias that lives within the halls of the Post.

Donald Trump: Another One Bites The Dust

Much ado about nothing. That is the best way to sum up the last few months where Donald Trump is concerned.

Following the lead of Mike Huckabee over the weekend, today The Donald announced that he would not be running for office.

On our April 14 episode of “The Plain, Hard Truth BlogTalkRadio Show” we discussed Donald Trump and his possible run for office. In this conversation we discussed whether or not he was a serious candidate or if this was just another way to strum up publicity for his next reality show.

I said that it is really hard to take someone seriously whose tag-line is, “You’re Fired!” I also said it was hard to take someone seriously who has as much money as Donald Trump has, yet his hair looks the way it does!

On to the more serious note and purpose of this article- you have got to be kidding me! We have wasted precious time talking about this man who is just another narcissistic, pompous jerk. Why in the world would you talk the way you have talked for months now if you are not going to run?

Please don’t get me wrong- I was never a fan of having “The Donald” on the ballot. In fact, it is a great big answer to prayer that he will not be running for President.

I guess there is one thing Donald Trump accomplished for us- Obama’s birth certificate. As I stated in my article, “Mr. Obama FINALLY Presents His Birth Certificate“, I believe Mr. Trump being so vocal and insistent on this issue forced Obama’s hand. Just to re-state the obvious from my previous article, this birth certificate could very well be a fake. At this point it’s a mute point. My only real question that remains in this issue is why did it take so long?

Now that I think about it, maybe that was “The Donald’s” goal all along. Maybe he just used the free publicity to force Obama’s hand on this issue. Donald Trump had absolutely nothing to lose in this. He said the things publicly that many of us wish our elected officials would say.

The one thing Donald Trump had going for him is that he was not afraid to say what he was thinking. I think this is one of the main reasons why he had a bit of a following- those hoping he would indeed run for President. If only all of the other candidates running for office would follow in his footsteps, say what they mean and mean what they say rather than playing political games, this country would be in much better shape!

One thing we can say for certain- Donald Trump was not playing politics. I guess the more appropriate term would be he was playing America!

Maybe that’s the title of his next reality show- “The Apprentice: Playing America For A Fool“!

Or will it be, “The Apprentice: The Search For The Birth Certificate“.

Tune in to your local NBC station this fall season!

So any bets on who may be next to throw in the towel?

Trump offered $60 million to not run for President

Updated at bottom of article.   It has been reported over at Newsmax.com that Donald Trump is being pushed to sign a new $60 million dollars contract for his TV show Celebrity Apprentice. With Trump’s recent statements that he will not announce his intentions for the 2012 Presidential election until this season of Celebrity Apprentice is over, the timing of NBC pushing him into a new contract is very suspect, to say the least. Trump can not be under contract for NBC and run for President at the same time, it is either one or the other. This puts Trump directly on the hot seat here, and forces him to choose between running for President and a $60 million dollar contract. While many folks might say that $60 million dollars is a drop in the bucket for billionaire Donald Trump, being on television every week also gives him plenty of Celebrity-type exposure, which would keep his often-described as enormous ego fed.

Considering the fact that NBC shows a blatant bias towards the Obama administration in it’s propaganda reporting today, this could be an attempt to keep Trump from continuing to expose Obama’s dysfunctional, anti-Capitalist policies on the National stage also. While some GOP candidates do carp about certain Obama policies, they also carry with them a moderate-leaning political correctness that the country is flat out tired of, especially among conservative Americans sick of staring at trillions of dollars in deficit spending and the ignoring of our Constitution. The fact is that Trump tells it like it is, and this is very distressing to the Obama administration that needs to keep Americans uninformed as to how the Democrat’s current Socialist agenda will “transform” America into nothing more than a third rate country, due to the massive amounts of debt we are racking up today. Now Obama and his Democratic minions in Congress want to raise the debt limit again and further push America towards $15 trillion dollars of debt. How stupid is that people? Say that out loud, “ $15 trillion dollars of debt.” Is that stupid and irresponsible or what?

I hope that Donald Trump keeps making his voice heard on the national stage, whether it is as a candidate or President or not. Here is my suggestion for Mr. Trump, based on the business/money aspect of this situation. Take NBC,s $60 million, and make  Fox or another major network  pay you for a solid amount of air time to keep on expressing your thoughts on how to fix this country. Make sure your voice will be heard on a steady basis no matter what decision you make. If you are dead serious about your desire to right this sinking, progressive ship called America, then put up the money and run for President and while your at it show NBC and the rest of the puppets that no amount of money will buy you out of this upcoming election. Either way, we need to hear your voice, and not just on your TV show. I believe Donald Trump is a true American Patriot at heart, and we need all the Patriotic voices we can muster up.

Mr. President, I Have The Silver Bullet!

Unless you live under a rock you have probably realized that the majority of President Obama’s rhetoric is nothing but his favorite catch phrases.

The Global Language Monitor  keeps track of how many times certain phrases are spoken. One thing that they monitor is Mr. Obama’s catch phrases.

We’ve all heard them, if we’ve heard the man speak at all.

In this article on The Global Language Monitor they have totaled Obama’s top five catch phrases, tallied since the day he took office. You will see their total in parenthesis below, as of March 25, 2011.

There’s the ever famous, “Make no mistake.” (2,924 times)

There’s my “favorite”- “Let me be clear!” (1,066 times)

And let’s not forget, “Win the future.” (1,861 times),

Or how about, “Here’s the deal.” (1,450 times)

And then there’s, “It will not be easy.” (1,059 times).

Now there’s a new phrase that The Global Language Monitor will have to keep up with spewing from President Obama’s mouth.

“There’s no silver bullet.”

President Obama and his Press Secretary, Jay Carney, have both been spouting this phrase over the last few days.

I searched the website at The Global Language Monitor and could not find that they have started counting this among his popular catch phrases. However, other people are taking notice. Reuters has a blog post in observance of this new catch phrase.

I have to disagree with Mr. Obama. There IS a silver bullet that will bring down gas prices IMMEDIATELY! I invite him to use this silver bullet! In fact, I will make an exception for one of my rules to never beg for anything. Mr. Obama, I beg of you to PLEASE use the silver bullet that is so obvious!

WE MUST DRILL, BABY, DRILL!!!

There are just no two ways around this. We absolutely MUST drill for our own oil!

All it would take is for anyone with any semblance of seriousness to come out and say that we are going to drill our own oil and the speculators would go wild! They would not know what hit them! There would be scrambling on Wall Street like we’ve never seen before!
And yet, no one, not even the Republicans, are willing to step out boldly and challenge what I see as nothing less than treasonous acts with Obama’s moratorium on off-shore drilling, all the while applauding Brazil for their drilling. In fact, in his remarks at the CEO Business Summit in Brasilia, Brazil, Obama tells Brazilians that The United States of America will finance their offshore oil drilling, then we will be their best customer!

“We want to help you with the technology and support to develop these oil reserves safely. And when you’re ready to start selling, we want to be one of your best customers. At a time when we’ve been reminded how easily instability in other parts of the world can affect the price of oil, the United States could not be happier with the potential for a new, stable source of energy.”

This is treason if I’ve ever heard it!

So where are the Republicans? Silent, as usual!

Mr. Trump, you seem to be the ONLY person willing to go out on a limb and say what the American people are saying. Your boldness and consistency is one of the two main reasons why we finally have a birth certificate- as fraud as it probably is! (I believe the other main reason is the book coming out on May 11, 2011 by Jerome Corsi,  Where’s The Birth Certificate? The Case that Barack Obama is not Eligible to be President”)

Mr. Trump, will YOU be bold enough to press this issue? We DO have the silver bullet to bring down gas prices IMMEDIATELY! Will you use it? I know the President in the White House currently will not!

A Plan Was Hatched – Obama Was Not

Obama didn’t release his birth certificate to shut down the birthers – he did it to label the entirety of the right as “carnival barkers.”

Obama's Birth Certificate

On April 27th, Obama finally put the birth certificate thing to rest for the majority of Americans .. we think. The conspiracy theorists are already using Adobe’s natural behavior to prove that the certificate is a fake and the anti-conspiracy theorists are pointing out how the conspiracy guys are wrong. We’ve even see how some believe that by releasing his birth certificate, Obama may have sealed his fate as a one term President. Everyone is wrong.

In listening to Obama’s comments on the release of his long form birth certificate I heard things that made me cringe. He isn’t releasing this to shut the right up, he’s hoping Conservatives go off the deep-end and push the conspiracy until there is a guy on the grassy gnoll with a second optical scanner, copy machine or birth certificate.

We’re not going to be able to do it if we just make stuff up and pretend that facts are not facts.  We’re not going to be able to solve our problems if we get distracted by sideshows and carnival barkers.

When GOP candidates start re-visiting Obama’s Presidential record and reminding the electorate of the absolute blunders, mis-truths and lies – he will remind us that the right has been proven wrong time-and-time again on their so-called facts. “They just make stuff up”, the President will say, “just like that whole birth certificate thing”. And images of Trumps idiotic prancing about the country, re-invigorating the issue that most of us had let die, just to have the entire right look like fringe lunatics – exactly the strategy that killed Sharron Angle’s bid to unseat Harry Reid.

Donald Trump Bad Hair

As if it weren’t enough, Donald Trump today pressed the issue by giving the conspiracy theorists a bone:

Now we have to look at it. We have to see is it real? Is it proper? What’s on it? But I hope it checks out beautifully.

“Sideshows and Carnival barkers..” with Donald Trump as the front-and-center image – this is a well-thought plan to get the moderates to distance themselves from anything remotely right-of-center.

The Plan

  1. Create an image of a group of crazy people – check
  2. Get Trump to work them into a frenzy – check
  3. Prove them all wrong – check
  4. Have Trump get them to push the conspiracy anyway – check
  5. Use the cemented image that the right is all a bunch of crazy people to win re-election – in-progress

In a Washington Post article entitled “An embarrassment to the country”, Adam Serwer started executing step 5:

Trump’s lunacy emboldened conservative media sources to fully embrace birtherism. According to Media Matters, Fox News has spent over two hours promoting false claims about Obama’s birthplace across 54 segments, and only in ten did Fox News hosts challenge those claims.

Examine Bernanke’s comments at the Federal Reserve press conference, debate the real cause of fuel, food and clothing prices rising while home prices plummet, discuss China’s approach to overtaking the United States as the world’s predominate economy – do any of those, but leave the fricken birth certificate to die.

Mr. Obama FINALLY Presents His Birth Certificate!

I have been working on this article for about a week, compiling all of my research, and had planned to post the article this coming weekend. However, the article has now taken on a new twist.

President Obama finally released his long form birth certificate today! In this video posted on The Blaze the President says “he did it because the country doesn’t have time for the “distraction” and “silliness” of questions being persistently raised about where he was born.

WOW! All of a sudden our President is growing up just a bit, it seems! It has been ok to have the “distraction and silliness” for 2 ½ years, and even took time out to add his own snide remarks to keep the controversy going rather than putting an end. Why now, after all this time, is he presenting it to the American people? Does he expect us to really believe he has the good of this country at heart? If this is what he expects, then I have a BOAT LOAD of ocean front property in Arizona that I would love to sell him!

What I believe is probably more than likely the real reason why Mr. Obama suddenly decided to present his birth certificate is because it appears as though he may be just a wee bit intimidated by The Donald  Trump! Mr. Trump was not going to let this issue go away, and I’m sure Mr. Obama has never dealt with someone quite so bold and insistent in his Community Organizing position.

So, my fellow Americans, after more than two years of endless questions, it appears as if President Obama is indeed one of us! My question for him is, “What took you so long, Mr. President?” All this time you’ve acted like a bratty child, taunting us in your snide voice as if to say: “I know you are but what am I?  But I guess we can finally welcome you, and say, yes, Mr. President, you are one of us! You are an American citizen!

Whew! I’m glad to finally get this issue behind us so we can start focusing on the REAL ISSUES this country faces! It’s so sad that you took so long to finally put an end to it all! Now let’s see how long it takes you to start truly focusing on the real issues! Oh… just for the record, Mr. President- I will not hold my breath waiting for that to happen! To quote your oh-so-famous catch-phrase, “Let ME be clear!”  Mr. President, I do not believe a single word that comes out of your mouth, as I stated in my article “Liar, Liar Pants On Fire”.

I will not waste our time by debating the authenticity of the birth certificate. Anyone with half of a brain knows that this could very easily be a fraudulent document. All we have to do is think about how things work when someone is placed in the Witness Protection Program. So it is safe for you to assume that I highly doubt that this document is the real deal! However, I will never be able to prove this, so I will not waste any of our time.

Had the President presented this document- real or fraudulent- from the very beginning of this on-going issue,  there would have been very little rumblings about it. Oh, I’m realistic enough to realize that there would have been those on the fringe questioning its authenticity no matter what. You are always going to have conspiracy theories floating around.

However, the President could have stopped the “distraction and silliness”, as he calls it, a LONG time ago, had he not acted like an overgrown child! He took great pleasure in acting like a child regarding this issue, as he does other issues. He did nothing but taunt the American people who had legitimate questions surrounding his birth.  Spare me the drama, Mr. Obama! You have no interest whatsoever in stopping the “distraction and silliness”, as you call it! In fact, you took great pleasure in taunting We The People!  However, Mr. Trump ruffled your feathers, didn’t he?

Here are just a few examples of his taunting attitude. There are plenty other instances out there, just do your own internet search.

August, 2010: In this interview with ABC’s Brian Williams, Obama snidely said,” I can’t spend all my time with my birth certificate plastered on my forehead. I don’t think the American people want me to spend all my time on it.”

May 1, 2010:  At a Press Dinner Obama makes jokes about his birth certificate.

Week of March 11, 2011:  At a fundraiser in Boston, Obama jokes about the controversy surrounding his birth certificate.

These few instances that I posted above makes it very obvious he did not take the concerns of We The People seriously- that is, until Donald Trump came on the scene asking questions very loudly and publicly!

How shameful! Once again, President Obama has proven he IS NOT a leader! He IS NOT the Commander in Chief! He is the Taunter in Chief who’s been put in his place by a Reality Show Host! If nothing else we must thank Donald Trump for pushing the issue hard enough and long enough to force some action from this disastrous White House- even if its authenticity is debatable! Whether you like him or not for the possibility of the next President of The United States of America, Donald Trump has accomplished a task that the GOP didn’t have the guts to even attempt do! He forced the issue and would not stop! Brave on, Mr. Trump! You may just win my vote after all!

The Trump-Bashing Bandwagon

The list of people bashing, trashing and attacking Donald trump today is about the only thing  growing faster than our national debt. Many seemingly respectful writers, bloggers, newsies, politicians and self-titled intellectuals are all of a sudden turning into blathering, whining, sniveling , backbiting potshot artists all lining up to denounce Donald Trump today. This childish rhetoric seems to go way beyond the usual Democrat vs. Republican, or Liberal vs. Conservative political battleground bloviation. So what is driving this firestorm?  It could stem from outright jealousy at the fact that Trump is a self-made billionaire who actually answers to no one but himself, which allows him to drop the cowardly politically correct speech and say exactly what he feels about the current state of America under the Obama regime in front of crowds today.  Donald Trump’s campaign slogan should be ” Trump Uncensored.”  Trump doesn’t have to get permission from the standard censorship elitists when he makes a speech today. There are no editors or handlers holding sway over what he says, which is why we get some hard-hitting truths coming out of him today that seem to drive the politically correct cowards in the media crazy. Let’s have a look at who is leading the latest round of  Trump attacks and just  what their motives could be for them.

In a Tuesday article from Reuters.com we see a lineup of Trump-bashers from across the political spectrum. These include the following statements :

Karl Rove, who was the architect of Republican George W. Bush’s two presidential victories, called Trump a “joke candidate” for focusing on Obama’s birth certificate.

“The guy is smarter than this,” Rove told Fox News.

When looking at the progressive tendencies of the entrenched old-guard GOP  of the last twenty years and the fact that this country is now deemed a credit risk by Standard and Poor’s here,  one would have to think that anyone who thinks the American people are going to accept another career RINO-Republican for President in 2012 is the real jokester, Mr. Rove. The GOP protectionism auto-reflex against anyone not RINO-approved pops right up every time a viable candidate talks about the real issues facing America today. Donald trump is taking on all comers, including the RINO-Republican cowards, the nanny-state loving Liberals masquerading as Democrats, and the Obama-approved media propagandists too scared to tell the people the truth about the creeping Socialism that is driving us to the brink of financial collapse today. Just exactly what have you and the GOP done for America lately Mr. Rove that demands that we listen to or believe your rhetoric?

Also from the above-mentioned Reuters article we see the following:

And conservative newspaper columnist George Will told ABC News’ “This Week” online “Green Room” segment that Trump is a “blatherskite.””

“That is a word my grandmother was fond of as someone who blathers promiscuously,” Will said.

This is quite interesting in the fact that Mr. Will chose the ABC news Green Room segment as a platform to bash Trump. If  Trump is doing nothing more than blathering promiscuously, why the need for everyone  to denounce him today, including Mr. Will who is cashing checks drawn on the account of the Obama-approved ABC propaganda puppets ?  Mr. Will also went on to say that Trump is more important to the process than Obama ambassador Jon Huntsman, not because he is a more effective candidate, but, wait for it…, Trump stands to make the Republican party look bad. Truth has a way of making lots of people look bad, Mr. Will and we need a hell of a lot more of it today, whether you or the old-guard, big government loving career politicians like it or not.

Going back to that same Reuters article, we see some extremely hard-hitting truth about why Trump is being attacked by the GOP so ruthlessly today, from Jennifer Cook of the non-partisan Cook Report:

“It does seem that the GOP establishment is now engaged in a serious effort to undermine Trump’s candidacy.”

Reuters goes on to try to brand Trump as some kind of “new voice” at the end of that article, almost like some sort of fleeting dime-store novelty item:

“There’s unhappiness with the prominent names that are currently in the field. And when somebody comes along who already has high name identification, who sounds like he would be that new voice, a certain proportion of people gravitate to it,”

That new voice mantra happens to be nothing more than having the guts to tell the people the truth about the current state of America today. In dissecting the lies, misinformation and propaganda coming out of our current government and media propagandists today, I guess someone telling the truth would have to be considered to be a ” new voice.” Donald Trump is invaluable in his messaging today in the fact that he is forcing Americans to understand and discuss the destruction of American freedoms and prosperity through big government expansion, the irresponsible debt spending of career politicians, and the anti-American, anti-Capitalism propaganda coming out of the far left Liberal Obama political machine that is being promoted by the despicable media puppets of today. Trump is to be commended, not chastised or attacked for simply opening up the conversation about what is truly happening in America today. Critical thinking demands that all Americans look at the problems America faces today, the root causes and possible solutions, and address them immediately.

Trump is an uncensored, politically  incorrect maverick on the political stage today, and if we are to ever address the looming financial crisis and inevitable destruction of the American way of  life, we need to hear more from The Donald every chance we get. The truth is often a truly difficult pill to swallow. To deny the truth facing Americans today is to simply turn your back on America and continue down the pathway to her destruction. Keep on keeping on, Mr. Trump, we need to hear more of  it today, whether the career politicians, media puppets, and entrenched political machines like it or not !

Trump Tromps the Teleprompter

Many people in America just cannot grasp the realism behind Donald Trump’s recent outbursts concerning Barack Obama’s trashing of American values and blatant Alinsky-taught, Nanny-State fiscal insanity. These two men are your basic polar opposites in just about every category of life. Trump is a real estate mogul, a self-made businessman extraordinaire who is largely successful through hard work and pure determination. That obviously makes him the anti-Obama in the fact the Mr. Obama is basically an anti-capitalist Socialism pimp who thinks Americans are too stupid to find their own way in life without the government regulating every facet possible.  Donald Trump is the epitome of the American dream through a tirelesswork ethic, whereas Barack Obama is the pied piper of the race-based wealth redistribution agenda so prized by the blind, mathematically challenged Liberal Democrats. The Donald sees spread sheets in black and white numbers, profits vs. losses, and success vs. bankruptcy, whereas Barry sees spreadsheets as takers vs. makers, white people against his beloved diversity-club, and evil capitalism vs. his Utopian nanny-state fiscal insanity.

The Trump tri-fecta is rooted in reality, while Barack Obama, the career community organiser and manufactured politician is rooted in the social justice fraud that leads to the  irresponsible destruction of the very system that has made America the  most prosperous and free nation on earth for centuries. The Donald is all about big rewards and an enhanced standard of life through hard work and personable responsibility, while Barack is all about handouts to irresponsible freeloaders based on skin color and vote-buying. One person’s ideology here would enhance Americans lives through opening up the door to greater wealth and prosperity through innovation in business and less government regulations, while the other would run America into bankruptcy through mandating government control of everything while overloading the welfare roles to the point of  financial ruin, not to mention destroying the jobs environment by mandating the Affirmative Action style race-based hiring of one group over the other instead of the most qualified, which leads to bloated labor prices like we see in our current government, where it now takes approximately eight workers to do the work one what one worker did just 10 – 15 years ago. If  The Donald ran his companies like The Teleprompter runs America today, he would soon to be living in a government subsidised apartment collecting food stamps and hoping for more handouts from the taxpayers, with no hope for the future in sight.

These are the truths that every American voter must be aware of come the 2012 elections. Donald Trump can speak for hours and answer questions on economics without so much as a few notes to refer to, whereas Barack Obama rarely utters a word that hasn’t been prepared by his handlers and has been proven incapable of speaking  without a teleprompter. This points to the fact the Trump knows what he is talking about, and Obama doesn’t, period. Trump is a qualified businessman capable of  preventing America’s impending financial Armageddon, and has a proven very successful economic track record, while Obama is a manufactured politician who in fact has never worked an honest day in his life.  Which one do you want to bet  America’s future on ?   The stakes are higher than they have ever been throughout America’s history of prosperity and freedom in 2012. Donald Trump realises the danger of four more years of  Barack Obama’s Utopian Socialist Nanny-state agenda and has chosen to make a stand for all of America in 2012.  Trump’s success and wealth are well-documented for all of America to see, in what hard work and a good education can bring a person as far as their quality of life goes. Trump has expressed his love for America and his desires that future generations of Americans are given a fair chance of achieving the success that he has today. This gives Trump theunalienable right to question Obama’s ideology, his right to the Presidency of the United States, or his policies and agenda, whether the Democrats, the media propagandists or the political operatives/mouthpieces of Obama’s administration like it or not. The Donald does not like the current fundamental transformation of America that Obama promised in the 2008 campaign, but had refused to define. That transformation is to a big government controlled, welfare nanny state for votes scheme, and it is right out front for all to see today, and Trump is to be thanked for helping expose that agenda.

As proof for those in denial of our economic situation today, in relationship to Obama’s proven welfare/nanny state transformation agenda, I offer up the numbers after two short years of Obama-rule here. Yes the poverty rate is up 32% under Obama, and long term unemployed was up a staggering 146% in that article!  Today, gas prices are up a whopping $3.87 a gallon, as opposed to $1.61 a gallon the day Obama took office!

Whether Donald Trump is making a serious run for President in 2012, or just simply getting some face time on the talk show circuits and news programs, he is to be commended for taking a stand against putting America through another four years of  listening to the lies and misinformation written by propagandists and inserted into Obama’s  teleprompter for the mindless Community Organiser in Chief to read. I personally hope Trump keeps right on tromping the teleprompter at every chance he gets, right on up to the 2012 elections. America certainly needs that bright sunshine that Trump is putting on the Obama Socialist transformation of America.

Help Wanted: Conservative Statesmen

The Tea Party is getting larger and stronger all the time. It is now a force to be reckoned with in Congress, in state legislatures across the fruited plain, and in the daily news cycle. Yet it lacks one thing. One thing that if present would take it from a force to be reckoned with to an irresistible force. What the Tea Party lacks is the one thing the Founding Fathers had in abundance. And what is that? Statesmen. People like Samuel Adams and Patrick Henry were integral to the American Revolution and the establishment of the Constitution. The Tea Party lacks the latter-day equivalents of Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, George Washington and James Madison. Politicians the Tea Party has aplenty. Statesmen, though, are sorely lacking.

Using the Tea Parties analogy to the American Founding, I think you can fairly compare people like Palin and Bachmann to Henry and Sam Adams. That isn’t enough though. We need people like Paul Ryan, and yes, Chris Christie (even if I am not completely sold on him). People who are sensible and pragmatic and educated and experienced. If we want real change, I think the founding of our country is a good model to look at. Hopefully, we can avoid a physical revolution. I believe the founders died so we wouldn’t have to go there. But they do provide a good model for getting things back on the right track. We should look at the whole model. If things had ended in Boston Harbor, we would still be a protectorate of the United Kingdom right now. That isn’t good enough. – ALRMCoug

In response to ALARMCoug’s blog post, HighHorse came back with this bit of analysis concerning the Tea Party:

There is no Samuel Adams on the scene in America today. The centrist Republican establishment sees to it that a modern day Samuel Adams or Thomas Jefferson will not get anywhere in America.

Your example is interesting because Samuel Adams, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson and James Madison were known radicals even in that day. The Tea Party of today is radical as were those guys mentioned. We can expect a watered down version that will never create real change in our country. Moderates will see to it that the true radicals never have representation.

It isn’t just bloggers that recognize the need for leaders of our nation who possess the qualities found in such abundance among those who brought forth the United States of America. Academics see it as well:

The raising up of that constellation of “wise” Founding Fathers to produce America’s remarkable Constitution, whose rights and protection belong to “every man,” was not a random thing…. One historian called our Founding Fathers “the most remarkable generation of public men in the history of the United States or perhaps of any other nation” (Arthur M. Schlesinger, The Birth of the Nation [1968], 245). Another historian added, “It would be invaluable if we could know what produced this burst of talent from a base of only two and a half million inhabitants” (Barbara W. Tuchman, The March of Folly: From Troy to Vietnam [1984], 18). – Neal A. Maxwell

Furthermore, the Founding Fathers recognized for themselves the remarkable nature of the founding of this nation. Describing the drafting of the U.S. Constitution. In a 1788 letter to Lafayette, he said:

“It appears to me, then, little short of a miracle, that the delegates from so many different states (which states you know are also different from each other in their manners, circumstances, and prejudices) should unite in forming a system of national Government, so little liable to well-founded objections.” 3

It was a miracle. Consider the setting.

The thirteen colonies and three and one-half million Americans who had won independence from the British crown a few years earlier were badly divided on many fundamental issues. Some thought the colonies should reaffiliate with the British crown. Among the majority who favored continued independence, the most divisive issue was whether the United States should have a strong central government to replace the weak “league of friendship” established by the Articles of Confederation. Under the Confederation of 1781, there was no executive or judicial authority, and the national Congress had no power to tax or to regulate commerce. The thirteen states retained all their sovereignty, and the national government could do nothing without their approval. The Articles of Confederation could not be amended without the unanimous approval of all the states, and every effort to strengthen this loose confederation had failed.

Congress could not even protect itself. In July 1783, an armed mob of former Revolutionary War soldiers seeking back wages threatened to take Congress hostage at its meeting in Philadelphia. When Pennsylvania declined to provide militia to protect them, the congressmen fled. Thereafter Congress was a laughingstock, wandering from city to city.

Unless America could adopt a central government with sufficient authority to function as a nation, the thirteen states would remain a group of insignificant, feuding little nations united by nothing more than geography and forever vulnerable to the impositions of aggressive foreign powers. No wonder the first purpose stated in the preamble of the new United States Constitution was “to form a more perfect union.”

The Constitution had its origin in a resolution by which the relatively powerless Congress called delegates to a convention to discuss amendments to the Articles of Confederation. This convention was promoted by James Madison and Alexander Hamilton, two farsighted young statesmen still in their thirties, who favored a strong national government. They persuaded a reluctant George Washington to attend and then used his influence in a letter-writing campaign to encourage participation by all the states. The convention was held in Philadelphia, whose population of a little over 40,000 made it the largest city in the thirteen states.

As the delegates assembled, there were ominous signs of disunity. It was not until eleven days after the scheduled beginning of the convention that enough states were represented to form a quorum. New Hampshire’s delegation arrived more than two months late because the state had not provided them travel money. No delegates ever came from Rhode Island.

Economically and politically, the country was alarmingly weak. The states were in a paralyzing depression. Everyone was in debt. The national treasury was empty. Inflation was rampant. The various currencies were nearly worthless. The trade deficit was staggering. Rebelling against their inclusion in New York State, prominent citizens of Vermont had already entered into negotiations to rejoin the British crown. In the western territory, Kentucky leaders were speaking openly about turning from the union and forming alliances with the Old World.

Instead of reacting timidly because of disunity and weakness, the delegates boldly ignored the terms of their invitation to amend the Articles of Confederation and instead set out to write an entirely new constitution. They were conscious of their place in history. For millennia the world’s people had been ruled by kings or tyrants. Now a group of colonies had won independence from a king and their representatives had the unique opportunity of establishing a constitutional government Abraham Lincoln would later describe as “of the people, by the people, and for the people.”

The delegates faced staggering obstacles. The leaders in the thirteen states were deeply divided on the extent to which the states would cede any power to a national government. If there was to be a strong central government, there were seemingly irresolvable differences on how to allocate the ingredients of national power between large and small states. As to the nature of the national executive, some wanted to copy the British parliamentary system. At least one delegate even favored the adoption of a monarchy. Divisions over slavery could well have prevented any agreement on other issues. There were 600,000 black slaves in the thirteen states, and slavery was essential in the view of some delegates and repulsive to many others.

Deeming secrecy essential to the success of their venture, the delegates spent over three months in secret sessions, faithfully observing their agreement that no one would speak outside the meeting room on the progress of their work. They were fearful that if their debates were reported to the people before the entire document was ready for submission, the opposition would unite to kill the effort before it was born. This type of proceeding would obviously be impossible today. There is irony in the fact that a constitution which protects the people’s “right to know” was written under a set of ground rules that its present beneficiaries would not tolerate.

It took the delegates seven weeks of debate to resolve the question of how the large and small states would be represented in the national congress. The Great Compromise provided a senate with equal representation for each state, and a lower house in which representation was apportioned according to the whole population of free persons in the state, plus three-fifths of the slaves. The vote on this pivotal issue was five states in favor and four against; other states did not vote, either because no delegates were present or because their delegation was divided. Upon that fragile base, the delegates went forward to consider other issues, including the nature of the executive and judicial branches, and whether the document should include a bill of rights.

It is remarkable that the delegates were able to put aside their narrow sectional loyalties to agree on a strong central government. Timely events were persuasive of the need: the delegates’ memories of the national humiliation when Congress was chased out of Philadelphia by a mob, the recent challenge of Shay’s rebellion against Massachusetts farm foreclosures, and the frightening prospect that northern and western areas would be drawn back into the orbit of European power.

The success of the convention was attributable in large part to the remarkable intelligence, wisdom, and unselfishness of the delegates. As James Madison wrote in the preface to his notes on the Constitutional Convention:

“There never was an assembly of men, charged with a great and arduous trust, who were more pure in their motives, or more exclusively or anxiously devoted to the object committed to them.” – Dallin H. Oaks

The Tea Party has its heroes to be sure:

  • Chris Christie is a fiscal genius who is reclaiming the State of New Jersey from the leftist teachers union in that state.
  • Governor Scott Walker made history as he disemboweled the public employee unions in Wisconsin.
  • Justice David Prosser of the Wisconsin State Supreme Court beat back a socialist candidate in dramatic fashion.
  • Sarah Palin is a continual thorn in Barack Obama’s side with her instantly classic Facebook posts.
  • Rush Limbaugh bedevils the progressives so much that he is their inspiration to attempt to take away our Freedom of Speech and Freedom of the Press.
  • Paul Ryan’s deficit reduction bill is so powerful that the socialists are compelled to lie about it in order to try to convince independent voters that it is evil. And we all know that the independents are the block of voters who decide elections in this country.
  • Donald Trump has revived the argument about Obama’s missing birth certificate. Stay tuned, this issue isn’t over yet!
  • Michele Bachmann is such a powerful conservative voice that she has a real shot at the Republican nomination for president in 2012.

But still, the Tea Party is missing its statesmen. We are talking about leaders of the stature of Winston Churchill, Mohandas Karamchand Ghandi, Benjamin Disraeli, and yes, Benjamin Franklin. Where are the leaders for our time? Surely we can do better than the RINO Jon Huntsman. Do we really think that Tim Pawlenty is in the same league as James Madison? Does the thought of Mitt Romney as president inspire comparisons to John Adams? Barack Obama Lite is not what this country needs. Obama is not less-filling and he sure doesn’t taste great, either.

The Tea Party needs leaders of unabashed conservatism. The Tea Party needs leaders with the courage of their convictions. The Tea Party needs leaders who respect the Constitution and who are willing to fight in defense of that inspired document of freedom. The Tea Party seeks God-fearing leaders who recognize that the State is subservient to Him who land this is. The Tea Party needs a charismatic, humble, yet strong leader who exudes confidence in the defense of liberty. The Tea Party needs the second coming of the Founding Fathers.

If Obama is to be defeated in the 2012 elections then the Tea Party must produce a leader who can rally the conservative troops. A divided conservative base will lose the election. An energized conservative base will sweep Obama into the ash heap of history. Let us pray we find our statesman before it is too late.
