The 2012 Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina

DNC 2012: Day 1

DNC-Charlotte

I set out from Orange County, CA this morning on my way to the DNC in Charlotte. My first leg from OC to Dallas was pleasant. I sat next to Rick and Patti, a middle-aged couple from Arkansas on their way home from visiting their daughter in Anaheim. We got to talking about why I was going to Charlotte. Rick said he was a conservative, but Patti likened herself to more of a libertarian. However, when she chastised me for referring to the “Affordable” Healthcare Act as Obamacare I knew that wasn’t entirely true. We had an interesting conversation and I shared with her the truth about universal healthcare as I experienced it growing up in Canada. Patti said she felt it was a tragedy that so many people in our country lacked insurance. I explained I shared her concern, but felt putting the government in charge of anything to do with your health was a big mistake. After all, would you trust anyone at the DMV to make the right decisions regarding your cancer treatment? Obamacare basically puts DMV employees in charge of the purse strings that control your health care. Patti agreed that was disturbing, given that Rick had recently beat prostate cancer. In the end we both agreed that it is up to each of us individually to do more for our struggling neighbors instead of shirking that duty off to a bloated, corrupt bureaucracy.

As our plane landed we said our goodbyes and Rick and Patti wished me luck on the rest of my journey. Dallas to Charlotte was largely uneventful, save one baby who screamed bloody murder for the first 20 minutes of the flight! Thankfully she pooped out and we all breathed a sigh of relief (mom especially, I’m sure). I arrived on time and in good spirits. My first stop was the car rental place. My shuttle driver was a gentleman named Phil. I asked Phil how things were going in and around Charlotte. “Oh boy”, he said with a sigh. “We’re all glad for the business but if I’m being honest I can’t wait until this week is over.”  I giggled a bit when Phil said “I admit, I’m a conservative, but I don’t trust any of these politicians”, almost apologetically. I asked what the vibe was in Charlotte; were people happy to be hosting the DNC? “Charlotte is a bright blue spot in a red area of the state. People are happy. But this week is going to be tough for all of us”.  At the car rental I was greeted by a clearly frustrated young man and I waited patiently as he finished serving the couple in front of me. When I asked him how his day was going he rolled his eyes and said “Crazy. I mean, I love Obama but all these Democrats from the coasts get on my nerves!” I asked him why, and he responded “Because they act like they know everything! They think we’re slow, dumb southerners. Gets on my nerves! The New Yorkers are worse than the ones from L.A., but they’re all annoying”.  I certainly agree that many people from our two major coastal cities have a tendency to be quite snobbish about those of us who live in the rest of the country, but as I talked to this young man I found myself becoming a bit annoyed. Should you really be talking about your disdain for customers to other customers? It might not be a glamorous job, but it’s work. There are a lot of folks out there who would take this man’s troubles for a paycheck.

Once I got the car I headed into Charlotte to meet up with tea party leader Earl Phillips and his group. They were screening “They Come to America”, a documentary on illegal immigration. You should see that. You’ll wish you hadn’t, but still…you should watch it. We finished the film, chatted about the upcoming schedule for LibertyStock 2012 and made plans to meet up tomorrow.

After that I headed to my hotel, just outside of the city  where I write to you now. Tomorrow looks to be a crazy day for Charlotte, with rain/thunder showers on the horizon. So far my plan is to head toward the convention center and see what trouble I can find. I’ll be updating my Twitter feed all day. You can follow me @kiradavis422 for all the latest and I’ll wrap up things tomorrow evening when I get back to the hotel. Stay tuned!

When in Doubt – Call in Al Gore

Now, bear in mind that the Dems will undoubtedly claim that Al Gore came out on this all by himself, without any prompting from them. Could actually be the truth. But, other than a really massive grudge against America for 2000, why would Gore bother bringing this up now?

simone.brunozzi (CC)

Abolishing the Electoral College system is brought up from time to time. It’s usually dismissed out of hand, and should be this time. The only useful thing to consider here is the fact that Gore is bringing it up at a point when it makes absolutely no sense – not that he’s known for making sense, that is.

So, if we’re running on the premise that there is some prompting from the Dems here, what does that mean about their strategy going forward? Yes, they will be going for whatever they can to keep the spotlight off the economy, and Obama’s massive failures in general. But, does this also mean that the Obama camp might be thinking that their only hope is to rely on the popular vote?

It’s no secret that the Obama camp is in near panic mode, begging for money at least once daily via email, and any other way it can. And then there’s the situation with Hillary Clinton. In case you missed it, she’s going to the Cook Islands for a very important conference with a bunch of nominal nations that rely heavily on the U.S. for many things – like trade – but rarely show up in the headlines here unless there’s some sort of atrocity or natural disaster there. Yep, that’s MUCH more important than the DNC next week! Needless to say, people aren’t even bothering to whisper that this is probably to protect Hillary as much as possible from Obama fallout in 2016 – they’re shouting it from the rooftops at this point.

So what’s a floundering presidential campaign to do when it can’t manage to fill venues for its “coming out party”? Well, it could invite 20,000 Muslims. Why not? It’s not like the folks of Charlotte weren’t already annoyed with the Dem party endorsing gay marriage – sure, they didn’t vote to make such unions absolutely illegal, right?

If you’re getting lost here, my point is that the Obama camp has sunk so low at this point, throwing Al Gore in the mix couldn’t possibly make it worse, could it? I think maybe we should ask Clint Eastwood’s version of Obama on that one – at least we’ll get a more intelligent answer! But, here’s to Al Gore, for bringing up yet another non-issue to distract everyone. Next!

‘Rock the Red’ Cancelled

A Conservative festival with hopes to provide the “alternative voice” during a week in which thousands of Democrats would invade the city of Charlotte for the Democratic National Convention, has been cancelled according to an event organizer.

‘Rock the Red’ was planned for the afternoon and evening of September 5th at the 11,000-seat Bojangles’ Coliseum. Many important politicians from the Carolinas were scheduled to speak, as well as others that included Maricopa county Sheriff Joe Arpaio. In addition to Conservative political speakers, many popular conservative bands and musicians were scheduled to play including the Charlie Daniels Band, Travis Tritt, and Lee Brice.

A spokesman from the CRVA (Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority) said that ‘Rock the Red’ signed a contract and was aware of the financial obligations, but have since failed to meet them.

The attorney representing ‘Rock the Red’ said that Ticketmaster did not display the event as a concert, instead calling it a ‘Republican’ event instead.

‘Rock the Red’ also claims that CRVA did not properly market the event. CRVA said that the event was ‘a straight facility rental with few ‘deliverables’.”

How To Guarantee Four More Years of Obama

We’ve heard it said before – “it’s his race to lose.” I spent a little time earlier today, and yesterday discussing the prospects for the Romney Campaign in November with CDN’s Michelle Ray (@GaltsGirl), and The 405 Radio‘s John Grant (@JohnG405) respectively. Michelle and I were relatively in agreement, that it’s too soon to call. John, on the other hand, was far more optimistic about Romney’s chances. I’m a cynic, and generally lean toward the “worst case scenario” when it comes to evaluating where a campaign is. But, in this case, my problem isn’t with the Romney Camp. It is with the conservative “base.” And I did put that term in quotes for a reason, because it certainly isn’t solid.

Rewind to fall of 1996, and I was working on a state level campaign. The problem facing the candidate was two-fold. First, he was running for a soon-to-be-vacant seat, without the endorsement of the incumbent. Second, there was bad blood in the party. One of the candidates he defeated in the primary was running a small grassroots smear campaign against him in a few precincts he was not very strong in to begin with, but needed to win. Thankfully, one of his supporters in that area called in to the office, and reported it. The other good thing was that I answered that call. When I told the candidate and the campaign manager, they both acted like it was nothing. I ignored their assessment, and put a few extra bodies on the streets in those neighborhoods. At the victory party, someone started talking about how great it was that the candidate squeaked by in those precincts – that it clinched the race. I just laughed, and walked outside with my scotch and cigar in hand.

And here we are in 2012, facing the same sort of issue. This is convention week, and the GOP should be building enthusiasm and consolidating behind Romney. Even better, the Libertarians should be mending fences with the GOP, and Ron Paul should be calling for his followers to support Romney as well. After all, the bottom line is that no matter how much anyone on the right disagrees with Romney, they should be agreeing with him a hell of a lot more than they agree with Obama. And every vote that isn’t cast at all, or isn’t cast for Romney, is as good as a vote for Obama. (It’s all in the math, folks. Don’t forget how Ralph Nader and the Green Party were perennially a thorn in the side of the Dems.)

Yes, we may not like Romney, but he’s the man on the ballot. That will be made official tonight. The time for playing games is over. If you think for a second that the Dems wouldn’t be in lockstep behind their candidate if they weren’t seeking a second term in the White House, you’re bluntly insane. And that is how you win elections. But this is supposed to be about how to lose this one for Romney, isn’t it?

Romney is a socialist? Really? For the record here, I did a Twitter search for RINO, since that’s the favorite term being bandied about by rabble-rousers out there. This breaks one of the biggest rules when it comes to campaigns – there is no reason for anyone that is against Obama having a second term to be out there criticizing Romney, period. Yeah, I can just hear the screams of foul on that one, and self-righteous claims to First Amendment rights. I’m not talking censorship here folks. I am talking political survival. It’s real simple. If you don’t want four more years of Obama, then shut up about Romney until after November. Rip him to shreds if you like, the day after he ousts Obama. But until then, nada!

Now, I like Condi, so she got the attention here. Well, that and the fact that it seemed the majority of the Twitter venom was being aimed at her. Another big rule being broken here, when it comes to winning political campaigns – never beat on the mouthpieces! She’s a Romney surrogate, so she’s off-limits for criticism during the campaign. Again, this isn’t about censorship. Ask yourselves, before you start saying nasty things about GOP folks right now: “Do I really want to help the Obama Camp discredit Romney and win the election?” Put it on a post-it note on your computer monitors if you have to, but seriously think about it before you run loose ripping on GOP surrogates on the campaign trail. There are still fence-pole sitters out there, and you’re not going to do anything to convince them to agree with you if you can’t even manage to respect the people out there campaigning for “anyone but Obama.” Yeah, that’s for the benefit of the folks that have trouble stomaching Romney in the first place. Remember, we can’t afford four more years!

So, no picking on the right-wing. Save your venom for the real enemy. Have at it against Obama and his zombies. It’s not like there’s any shortage of targets. Ridicule the vagina women and Sandra Fluke. Get your jollies over the fact that the DNC had to downsize their convention from lack of interest in the events, while the RNC went on in spite of Isaac! Think about like those food guru books “eat this, not that” if you have to. Call out leftists on low blows against conservatives. Don’t run around attacking conservatives. And by “conservative” I mean anyone dedicated to even a small part of the conservative principles. Take it further, and include anyone dedicated to removing Obama from office – that is the goal. The infighting will win the election for Obama. That is a fact. We all know that the Dem playbook starts and ends with “divide and conquer.” Stop doing half the job for the Dems! Suck it up, support Romney, and get Obama the hell off of Pennsylvania Avenue! Send him back to Chicago, Hawaii, Kenya, Indonesia, or wherever else the bastard wants to go!

There’s your mantra folks – let’s roll!

Occupy The DNC Event Planned

WTF?

Like a puppy who hasn’t quite got the hang of potty training yet, the administration is still struggling with decorum and behavior befitting the office of the presidency.

In a move best described as presidential potty mouth, the official twitter account of President Barack Obama posted “Still a BFD” hours after the ruling on the Affordable Health Care Act, obviously referring to the hot-mic incident at the bill’s signing. Vice President Joe Biden displayed a little diarrhea of the mouth whispering, “this is a big f—ing deal,” on live television.

Apparently, the official “tweeter” for the president failed to see the backlash from a social media faux pas courtesy of Democrat National Committee Executive Director Patrick Gaspard that occurred earlier in the day. Several hours before the president’s juvenile tweet, Gaspard took to Twitter to gloat saying, “it’s constitutional. B-tch-s.”

Gaspard later apologized, but the obnoxious statement had already been re-tweeted over 1,500 times.

Keeping the lack of class and complete disrespect for the office of the presidency going, Obama Campaign Manager Jim Messina proceeded to send a hasty email from the official campaign address just a few hours later with the subject line, “Let’s win the d-mn election.” The short content of the message repeated the vulgarity as if to prove beyond doubt the act was intentional and well-thought.

Perhaps the president, his campaign staff and the DNC could take a manners class to learn proper language and respect. In the meantime, I’ll continue to line my new puppy’s crate with the newspaper stories about the presidential potty mouth. I’d be willing to bet he’ll be potty trained faster than the president can fix his behavior.

Bye Bye Debbie!

Debbie Wasserman-Schultz

Debbie Wasserman-Schultz

Well, it appears current DNC chair Debbie Wasserman-Schultz will be shown the exit after the November elections.  As Javier Manjarres posted on his blog SHARK TANK on June 24th:

according to our source within the Democratic Party, who is also a close associate of Wasserman Schultz, the arrangements have already been made for her to leave DNC  regardless if President Obama wins re-election or not.  This same source believes that Wasserman Schultz will be forced to resign behind closed doors and then stage an press event in which she tells Americans that her job as the DNC chair was a temporary one and that she is moving on with her congressional career.

The embattled chairwoman has also fallen out of favor with President Obama with Manjarres writing:

Back in May our source told the Shark Tank that the relationship between DNC Chairwoman Wasserman Schultz and the Obama Administration was fractured and that the President “does not want her in the DNC anymore”

Apparently, President Obama had discussions with the DNC Chairwoman regarding her approach, even telling her, “Don’t forget you work for me.”

It’s not about you, its about me. – attributed to President Barack Obama to Debbie Wasserman Schultz, as per our source

The problem that the President has is this- he can’t fire her, at least at this juncture.  If President Obama were to remove Wasserman Schultz from her post he would be weakening his own position, as it would be very hard to find someone that is both in lock-step with his agenda and willing to run cover for him as she has done.

Second, this would be a clear indication to the public that there are real problems within the hierarchy of the Democratic Party.

It’s no secret that Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz is one of the most polarizing politicians in  the country. Wasserman Schultz is also a member of Congress who represents the 20thcongressional district in Florida.(SourceObama to DWS,”Don’t Forget, You Work For Me“) (Fox News)

Ouch!

(H/T Shark Tank)

Sandra Fluke: D.A.M. Member, Political Activist, Phony Victim

The Democratic Attack Machine recently rolled out a supposed 23 year old college student named Sandra Fluke to use as an innocent-looking “victim” who was being denied her “women’s health rights” by a religious university. Georgetown University, to be exact, where she made the choice to attend, even though she admits to researching Georgetown University and their policies about birth control beforehand. Democrats tried to insert this phony plant, (more on that later) by using an ambush tactic of not notifying the Committee Chairman ahead of time, simply because this “Fluke” is neither an expert on women’s health, a religious scholar, and certainly not a constitutional law scholar, which are just some of the related qualifications that would suggest that Fluke would be able to add anything substantial to the committee discussion. No, Sandra Fluke is now proven to be nothing more than a discredited political activist puppet, and just another tool for the desperate Democratic Attack Machine of 2012.

It has now come to light that Sandra Fluke is a 30 [not 23] year-old political activist/feminist/typical Democratic Attack Machine disingenuous disgrace. The only thing missing on her just-now-coming-to-light resume’ would be her probable connections to the GLBT political activist front groups. This fake episode of the supposed poor, young college student being abused and denied her “women’s health-care rights” while being paraded before Congress had all the makings of a D.A.M. farce right from the beginning. Fluke’s demanding other’s be forced to pay for her birth control and abortion pills is right out of the Planned Parenthood manual, along with a smattering of the supposed Occupy victim-card players propaganda and filthy common beggar syndrome..

The stench of desperate debt-spending Democrats [soon to be booted out of Congress in this year’s elections] during this charade brings back haunting memories of childhood trips to the local dump, where the stench of rotting food and trash left an indelible impression on a child for months to come. Low and behold, Democrats had the reelection campaign cash-begging emails all set to go the minute this farce was ramped up by the media. D.A.M. also used this farce to try to take down the truth-telling Rush Limbaugh by calling for advertisers to boycott his radio show. ( and of course you can donate to the campaign coffers of the desperate Senate Democrats while you are at it, them being such honorable people)

Of course the head of D.A.M., Mr. Barack Obama designed this whole charade of mandating religious organizations to pay for contraceptives and abortion pills to distract from the real issues facing Americans today, including the stagnant economy, high unemployment, and $4 dollar-a-gallon gasoline that his policies have crushed the middle class under the weight of. Barack is the most desperate Democrat of all when it comes to the upcoming elections, and this whole charade proves it. Note: Why not just let the Liberals pay for the abortion pills that they also claim are for “health reasons” and are now trying to refer to that rat poison as “medicine?”  How about putting your money where your mouth is Barbara Boxer. Today’s Liberal [fake] Democrats never do that, instead they are constantly devising disingenuous plots to spend other people’s money.

D.A.M Chief DWS Exposes Herself.. Again

DNC [and Democratic Attack Machine] Chairman Debbie Wassermann-Schultz made another appearance on national television recently, in which she makes her usual ludicrous, and totally discredited comments about the “American people,” this time attempting to say that “Real America” just loves Obama-care..  among other things. Check out the video:

After the host of the show quotes several recent poll results showing that as more Americans discover just how dysfunctional and expensive Obama-care will truly be and want it repealed, DWS says no, and that basically that’s not true.  (Hint: the host was stating polling from Americans Debbie, not the unicorn-riding puppets on the planet Saturn) Also note that in the Democratic party’s mathematically-challenged world, when the host asked DWS to sum up the 2012 Republican presidential candidate field in ONE WORD, she replies with a slew of D.A.M hate-speech fueled attacks and outright lies, including calling them extremists, on immigration policy [for wanting U.S. law enforced] and tax policy [for wanting a limited government and no taxation without representation that includes no big government tax hikes] and then going so far as to say Republicans want to deny women health-care.

In the immortal words of Doc Holliday, ” It would appear that her hypocrisy knows no bounds.” Talk about out of touch with reality. Reality is coming Debbie, it is coming in the form of a 2010 election-style rebuking of the Liberal [fake] Democratic Party’s big government debt-spending and skyrocketing gas and energy prices of the past 4 years. Reality in the form of the 2012 national elections where “we the people” will say that we have had enough of the out-of-touch-with-reality Obama administration and it’s Liberal minions in Congress. It is time for real solutions for America.

Reporter Blows the Lid Off DNC “Secret Media Meeting”

The Democratic National Convention will be held in Charlotte, N.C. this year. As The Charlotte Observer reports, the DNC committee has decided to shorten the 2012 national convention from 4 days to three, and has also decided to move the events to Charlotte’s two biggest outdoor arenas, Bank of America Stadium and Charlotte Motor Speedway. On Thursday, Mark Washburn, also a reporter with The Charlotte Observer, expressed his dismay  about the way 500 reporters that were called to the BOA stadium for a tour of their new September digs for the DNC convention this year, in which were told that the meeting would be strictly “off the record” and kept hush-hush, as in no telling folks what was said at this meeting.

It wasn’t the price of reporting this years event that rankled Mr. Washburn, which includes their designated “spots” to do their stand up reporting going for $1200 to $1800 bucks, or the six packs of Budweiser having to be bought from the areas vendor for $31.50 a pop, or even the revelation that the “media suites” would cost the reporter’s expense accounts about $25 grand.  All of that was taken with a grain of salt, as many media elitists stated, “it was less than they paid in Denver four years ago.” What rankled Mr. Washburn during the media tour for the 2012 DNC convention was the “cone of silence” demanded of them during the first order of business discussion. Mr. Washburn had the audacity to stand up to speak out against being told that things discussed at this meeting would be “off the record.” In his own words,  Mr. Washburn doesn’t like off- the-record. He prefers in-the-newspaper.  Good for him.

So what happened when Mr. Washburn stood up and spoke out against the gestapo-style cone of silence being imposed on them by Karen Burchard, the director of media logistics for this event? Mr. Theodore LeCompte, the chief operating officer for the convention committee promptly stood up and set Mr. Washburn straight: “If there are issues with the ground rules, you are perfectly welcome not to attend this session,” he said.  This comes a day after the DNC,  in announcing this years changes to the convention also promised to make it the “the most open and accessible in history.” Where have we heard that kind of false rhetoric before? Oh yes, during Barack Obama’s 2008 undefined hope and change campaign where we were told he would run the “most open and transparent” administration in history if elected.  This most recent statement of open and accessible DNC propaganda concerning this years convention, is just as credible today as it was back in 2008, which has now been proven to be just a bunch of hot air and Democratic party propaganda.

In another show of gestapo-style information management at this “media meeting”, popped up when Mr. Washburn notes that around lunchtime, “Chris Miller, morning news reporter on WBT-AM (1110) and one of the journalists in town you probably don’t want to push around, had been pulled aside by a convention press aide. She was concerned about a tweet he had sent that began, “DNC official just announced everything is now off-the-record.” He says she reminded him everything was off the record. Real-time monitoring of reporters tweets at a media meeting? Censorship comes to mind there, real nasty thugocracy and media bullying 101 on full display for all to see. Of course the DNC “director of communications and public affairs”, Kristie Greco takes openness and transparency to a whole new level when Mr. Washburn confronted her about being approached by DNC staff and told to shush. “Those are off-the-record conversations,” she said. “We will not confirm these conversations.”

Somewhere, Josef Goebbels is sure to be smiling at this blatant example of  DNC media manipulation  and the usage of progressive propaganda to make people think the DNC convention is all about “openness and accessibility.”  ( while swearing reporters to secrecy)

"Blog post: Wasserman Parents Go to Jail – not correct"

UPDATE: The original publisher is now saying that the sources are “conflicting” – as such, take the information in this post with some regard.

Quote for the originating editor: “[Note – It would seem that some sources for the relationship that Wasserman has are in conflict. Some say that Diana Wasserman is her mother and some do not.  This source has her mother’s name as Ann. We are trying to get down to the bottom of this at this time –Editor].”

Correction: The Atlas Shrugs information apparently is incorrect as we see by this article from the Sun Sentinel:

The online encyclopedia’s penchant for posting inaccuracies isn’t helping U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Weston, whose parents are listed on Wikipedia as being two fallen public figures in Broward.  The Cuban-born Wasserman-Rubin said she carries the “Wasserman” surname from her first husband, father of her two children (neither of which is in Congress). “We are not related at all,” she said. “… Not related with any connection whatsoever.”

Here at CDN we strive to report the news and express our opinions in the most honest ways possible, and regret the incorrect information posted earlier due to the incorrect internet information shown below. This information will be left intact so that readers may see just how misleading and incorrect information can result in a terrible mistake.  We sincerely apologize to all of our readers and the Wasserman-Shultz family in particular.

Atlas Shrugs tells us:  DNC Chair’s parents off to jail for corruption Political Arena

Of all of the most vilebold faceshameless liars in politics, no one tops acting DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz. We have videos of her and youtube is rife with them; bloggers have sliced and diced her lies with verifiable sources from one end of the country to the other.

Richard Rubin — husband of former Broward County Commissioner Diana Wasserman-Rubin, who still faces seven felony charges of her own — was sentenced this morning to ten months in federal prison.

Rubin, 66, pleaded guilty in April to federal tax evasion after failing to report $100,000 in fees he received from the town of Davie for a land deal he brokered in 2004.

Then, the probable-cause affidavit released last year contended, the couple was living quite lavishly — including spending money on artwork, cruises, vacations to Europe, and a $150,000 home repair project.

Rubin wasn’t charged with tax evasion until April of this year.

The State Attorney’s Office, however, charged Wasserman-Rubin last year with seven counts of felony unlawful compensation related to her votes for her husband’s grant-writing. (emphasis added)

Rick Perry and the Truth About Turkey

Governor Rick Perry has drawn quite a bit of criticism for his recent remarks regarding the country of Turkey during the Fox news/WSJ SC GOP debate on Tuesday night. When asked about his plans for cutting all U.S. foreign aid to zero, and whether Turkey still belongs in NATO, Perry responded as follows: “Obviously, when you have a country that is being ruled by what many would perceive to be Islamic terrorists, when you start seeing that type of activity against their own citizens, then yes — not only is it time for us to have a conversation about whether or not they belong to be in NATO, but it’s time for the United States, when we look at their foreign aid, to go to zero with it,” he said.

Note that Perry states in his answer that Turkey is “being ruled by what many would perceive to be Islamic terrorists.” He didn’t call them terrorists or identify any certain individuals as terrorists, but instead stated that many people would perceive the rulers of Turkey to be Islamic terrorists. So does Governor Perry’s statement carry any weight? Yes it does, and there are plenty of facts to back it up, which may be found by doing some very basic research on the subject of Turkey.

While the U.S. State dept, which is currently run by Hillary Clinton, has distanced itself from Perry’s statement, the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs came out with a very U.S. DNC-type statement in which they attacked Perry’s credibility, as opposed to putting up any facts to denounce his statement. “Those individuals who are candidates for positions requiring responsibility such as the U.S. presidency are expected to be more knowledgeable on global affairs and more careful in their statements,” the ministry said in a statement. “Turkey became a member of NATO when the governor was just 2 years old. … The U.S. has no time to lose with such candidates who do not even know America’s allies.” So just because Governor Perry was two years old when Turkey joined NATO., we are led to believe that he could not possibly know anything about the country of Turkey, and their eligibility for NATO admittance. With the Muslim brotherhood surging into power within Egypt due to the recent uprisings across the region, we see the political climate changing at a rapid pace today. The anti-American, anti-Israeli sentiment is at a dangerous level throughout the Middle East and North Africa today. Governor Perry obviously wasn’t referring to the Turkey of 50 years ago when he made his statement.

For some factual history of the examples of historic Turkish genocide, mainly aimed at wiping out Christians in the region, see this article. Millions of people were murdered or fled religious persecution by the Young Turks of the Ottoman Empire, and Turkey’s government has shown the propensity to deny those facts, even today. And recently, William Dalrymple penned “Christians Fleeing the Middle East’ in which he wrote, that Christianity is suffering “a devastating decline in the land of its birth.” While today’s Turkey proclaims itself to be a Republic, it appears to be anything but a free Republic when we read about the Turkish-Muslim Persecution of Christians.

Fast forward to today. In this Fox News article, we see that recently the Turkish government has expelled the Israeli Ambassador, that Turkey’s [lack of] freedom of the press currently resembles that of Russia, and that Turkish authorities have recently met with Hamas leaders. Add to that information the reports that violence against women are up some 1400%, (2002-2009) and that the director of the Turkish Research Program, Mr. Capaptay, wrote an essay that stated that the Turkish government has “neutered domestic checks and balances” since 2002, a “consolidation of power” that could have consequences for its relationship with the U.S. He noted that Turkish officials have demonized Western nations, and polls show the Turkish people mostly do not view the U.S. Favorably. To Governor Perry’s credit, he stands by his statements, as he recently stated, “When you see the number of actions against your citizens that we would consider to be terrorist acts, I stand by my statement,” Perry said. “You need to be putting protections in place for your citizens if you’re seeing those types of attacks against, particularly, well, particularly females. That is particularly heinous from my perspective.”

Finally, some pundits and assorted academics have falsely argued that Turkey does not currently receive and U.S. Foreign aid, in another attempt to discredit Perry’s statements. Apparently, the very same government-paid propagandist who wrote the essay mentioned above, Mr. Capaptay of the “Turkish Research Program” are incapable of telling the truth and doing proper research to back up statements, such as the following: “First, Turkey does not receive U.S. foreign aid. Some time in the 1980s it was phased out, so this is not your mother’s Turkey,” U.S. Aid to Turkey has been “phased out” since 1980? Not according to the U.S. Government it hasn’t, as seen here. That shows Turkey receiving $5.4 million from the U.S. In 2011 and another $5.6 million slated to be given to them in 2012. Keep in mind that those figures are only for “base appropriations.” For instance, in FY 2009, the U.S. Government gave Turkey $7 million tax dollars for.. “economic development.” Mr. Capaptay would be advised to be careful with his own “inaccurate statements” as per his condescending statement to governor Perry concerning U.S. cash being given to Turkey today.

In conclusion, Governor Perry is 100% correct in demanding that the U.S. reset all foreign aid back to zero, reevaluate each case, and then reestablish the programs based on protecting American interests and preventing U.S. tax dollars from funding anti-American regimes. And yes, that should include Islamic-terrorist supporting governments and anyone else caught promoting and/or aiding them. Why in the world does the United States government continue to dole out billions of taxpayer dollars to hostile countries out to destroy America?

House Defense Bill Will Fund DNC for Decades to Come

In a recent very informative article by Jeff Viral titled, House Votes to Approve Defense Bill, we see the following paragraph:

[Speaking about the defense bill that recently passed in the House] Specifically, the White House took issue with the detainee detention provision. The bill requires the military take custody of a suspect considered to be a member of Al Qaeda or its affiliates and those who are involved in planning or performing terror attacks on the United States. Legislators changed the language of the provision providing assurances nothing would impede the ability of civilian law enforcement to carry out terrorism investigations and interrogations in the United States. The bill does contain an exemption for U.S. citizens.”

A huge number of concerned citizens,Libertarians,s and assorted political activists are up in arms about the possible usage of certain provisions in the defense bill that could be used to imprison Americans without a fair trial on the simple basis of their political activities in demanding a limited, transparent and accountable, constitutional government. These concerns are not without merit, especially when looking at past world history. Hugo Chavez comes to mind here, as does the now six-feet under oppressive, murdering tyrant, Saddam Hussein. While taking into consideration the possibility of the American government using these newly granted powers that were given to the executive branch by the seemingly paralyzed-by-ignorance legislative branch in the recently House-passed defense bill that could result in the illegal detention of political dissenters, there is also the always-present hidden agenda behind Obama’s demand for certain provisions in this bill. Behind Obama’s demands for terrorists to be transferred to civilian custody is a semi-hidden agenda that is rarely being recognized today. The current much-discussed dangers of illegally locking up American citizens for 10 years without proven charges is a smokescreen being used to distract from the real agenda here. In Jeff’s above-linked article, we see that Senator John McCain (R-Rino-ville)made the following statement regarding the recently passed Defense bill:

“Sen. John McCain of Arizona said the legislation includes a “national security waiver” allowing the president to transfer suspects from military to civilian custody if he so decides.” When you start putting military war-prisoners under civilian custody, it comes with it a whole new set of rules that are not, in fact designed to deal with foreign enemy combatants. So why would the Obama administration demand these provisions be inserted into the Defense bill?

Big-Money Civilian Terrorist Trials Will Empower the Liberal Party U.S.A. For Decades to Come. They Will Also Enable the Massive Wealth Redistribution Inherent in Barack Obama’s Liberal/Socialist Ideology.

Photo: Michelle Malkin

In the early days of Obama’s administration, DOJ Chief Eric Holder was trying to force the civilian terror trials of GITMO enemy combatants to be held in NYC like a rabid dog furiously digging for a bone he had misplaced. The reason[s] Holder was so determined to put Gitmo detainees on trial in NYC is directly related to the recent Obama administration demands of military prisoners being transferred to civilian custody. Back in March of this year the reason behind Holder’s vigorous pursuit of civilian trials for Gitmo detainees was well documented in an article titled, Gitmo Military Trials to Start Back Up.

Mr. Holder was exposed as being a former Senior Partner in a law firm that was representing several Gitmo detainees by Michelle Malkin in an article back in Nov., 2009* In it she points out that:

“If you’ve been paying attention, you already know all about AG Eric Holder and his DOJ staff’s national security conflict of interest as senior partner with Covington & Burling — the prestigious Washington, D.C. law firm, which represents 17 Yemenis currently held at Gitmo.
After a quarter-century as a government lawyer, Holder joined the prestigious Covington & Burling business and corporate law firm. His salary jumped from under $200,000 as deputy U.S. Attorney General for the Clinton administration to more than $2 million a year as a Covington & Burling senior partner. During 2008, Holder spent countless hours away from his corporate office working for the Obama campaign—raising money, fielding calls, making speeches. “I hope the management committee is going to be real understanding when they see my billable hours this year,” Holder joked to The American Lawyer. It’s an investment, of course, and the law firm will get its political dividends later.”

This explains exactly why many Americans have been left scratching their heads since March in wondering why in the world the Gitmo terrorists/enemy combatants haven’t been put on military trial yet. Simply put, because this is the Liberal-fake Democratic Party U.S.A.’s endless supply of cash and wealth redistribution that is critical towards advancing their agenda. Money is power, especially in politics. Crony-capitalists posing as lawyers play a huge part in the DNC pay-to-play schemes. The Gitmo detainees will now represent an even bigger chunk of the DNC’s cash cow, thanks to the defense bill. Holder’s former lawfirm is set to rake in billions of dollars in lawyers fees, some of which will be used to fund the DNC as payback for Holder and Obama making sure these terrorist get huge, very expensive taxpayer-funded show-trials. The amount of kick-backs and play-for-pay cash inherent in Obama’s civilian terrorist trials makes the Solyndra $500 million dollar theft of taxpayer dollars to Obama-donors and campaign donation bundlers look like small potatoes here. This is the real reason behind the fake Democrat’s demands for civilian terrorist trials, and it has nothing to do with any semblance of justice. It’s all about the money, and the power derived from it.

How do civilian terror trials enable Liberal wealth redistribution? Simply by making sure these civilian terror trials are put on in Liberal states and cities. Look at past civilian terror trials. Chicago, Boston, Los Angeles, NYC. These trials are very expensive compared to military tribunals, and more often than not, do not result in complete justice, as we see here, in the case of Ahmed Ghaliani, who was acquitted on all but 1 of 244 counts of terrorism-related charges, and in which it was proven fact that he helped an al-Qaeda cell buy a truck and components for explosives used in a suicide bombing in his native Tanzania on Aug. 7, 1998. The attack in Dar es Salaam and a nearly simultaneous bombing in Nairobi, Kenya, killed 224 people, including 12 Americans. Big-named DNC donors posing as lawyers love a long drawn out civilian terrorist trial where they have carte-blanche to bill thousands of hours to be paid by the taxpayers. The venue of these trials also enables back-door federal funding of bankrupt Liberal cities in funding the extra police and security needed for these trials. Holding federal trials in NYC and assorted Liberal bastions of irresponsibility in budgeting as mentioned above, will allow the so-called Justice Dept. to dole out truckloads of cash to assorted friends of the DNC for decades to come, thanks to the new provisions in the recently-passed House defense bill. It’s all about the money.

Now the word is that this defense bill, that has been redrawn on Obama’s wish-list criteria of holding civilian trails for enemy combatants and terrorists, will zoom through the U.S. Senate without any problems. Of course it will. Liberal Democrat Harry Reid runs the Senate these days. Now, thanks to Speaker Boehner and company bending over to Obama’s fund-the-DNC-through-civilian-terrorist-trials scheme, crony-capitalists posing as lawyers just might be more apt to help Obama get to that one billion dollar campaign fund they have been bragging about for the past year or so. Also strangely missing from this equation is the ACLU, as many Americans interpret parts of this bill as allowing the U.S. government to detain citizens without any proof or even a fair trial. Maybe, just maybe, if they weren’t doing Obama and Holder’s bidding today they would have gotten involved.

2012 just can’t get here fast enough.
