DesLauriers described the two men as Suspect No. 1 and Suspect No. 2. Suspect No. 1 was wearing a dark hat. Suspect No. 2 was wearing a white hat and that suspect number two was vidoe’d dropping his backpack at bomb location #2.

When questioned by Congress on the same day, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napalitano said there were “individuals” the FBI would like to speak to and that she “wouldn’t characterize them as ‘suspects’ under the technical term. But we need the public’s help in locating these individuals.”

The way things appear, the FBI is making a full-court press while being held back by DHS. Homeland security seems more interested in political appearances than catching the men the FBI suspects in the Boston Marathon bombings.

The explosions near the finish line of the Boston Marathon killed three innocent people and injured at least 170 more.

 Since Barack Obama has said he is going to send federal agents into Oklahoma and other states to enforce Obamacare, what is there to make me believe he won’t send federal agents in to enforce his gun registration/confiscation scheme?  If he “dictates” an executive order that I have to turn in or register any weapons and I refuse, who is going to enforce that dictate?  If Congress decrees that I cannot own particular types of weapons or magazines and I refuse to comply, who is going to enforce it?

Do I have to worry about the government kicking in my door because I exercise my rights as written in the Constitution?  Will I wake up in the middle of the night and find masked men in military garb at my door with automatic weapons, face masks, body armor head to toe, and an armored personnel carrier; all there with the intent to arrest me for violating a law that is clearly unConstitutional?

Some say I am paranoid, a fear monger, and a “radical right wing extremist”, for asking these questions.  I’m none of those things.  I am a patriot who believes in the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the right to live by both as our founders intended.  I am a citizen who sees rampant abuse of the Constitution by those we elect to uphold and defend said Constitution.

We see incidents like these I list becoming the rule rather than the exception.  Police dressed head to toe in military garb, face hoods, and body armor are taking a “shoot first and ask questions later” attitude in everyday contacts with people.  In California SWAT teams, also dressed in military uniforms and equipment, are rounding up firearms from those who have been “deemed” to now possess firearms illegally.  No court hearings, no due process, just a kicked in door and shots fired if resisted.

During the Chris Dorner incident police riddled two different vehicles with bullets without bothering to find out who was in the vehicle before opening fire.  One vehicle contained a white man who was uninjured (Dorner was black).  The other vehicle contained two Hispanic women, one elderly, and both of whom were wounded.  In both cases they were in pickup trucks that were nowhere near the description given of the truck Dorner was reported to be driving.  It seemed that merely being in a truck at that time in California was enough to get one shot by police.  Why should I believe those with the same attitude won’t just shoot me out of convenience?

Those who call me paranoid or a fear monger must see the same things I see, or do they?  What do the naysayers think about the Marine who was shot to death in a 2011 Gestapo style “drug” raid that found nothing illegal?   They shot this veteran 60 times in his own home without so much as identifying themselves, and then let him lay there for over an hour while they ransacked the house to no avail.  If you naysayers will look at the link to this story you will find it is from the Huffington Post, hardly a “vast right wing conspiracy” publication. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/05/25/jose-guerena-arizona-_n_867020.html

How can people see what is going on every day and say it can’t/won’t happen here?  Why not?  How does one see DHS arming itself to the teeth without wondering why they need such armaments?  Who are they going to use this military hardware on?  At the same time, politicians at all levels and in both political parties are breaking their necks to disarm citizens.  If we are all defenseless why do they need armored vehicles and automatic weapons with billions of rounds of ammunition?  It is as if those in political office don’t believe in the vision of the founding fathers.

Those who say it won’t or can’t happen here are living in a dream world, one that will turn into a nightmare before their very eyes.  There were many who said it couldn’t happen in Germany, but it did.  Hundreds of thousands of Jews left Germany when they saw the steps Hitler was taking.  Some went to other European countries and were eventually rounded up when German forces conquered Europe.  Some came to the United States and contributed to the defeat of the Axis Powers.  Some came here to live normal working class lives and survived the Holocaust that killed 6 million of their people.

We hear stories from people who have experienced tyranny in Nazi Germany and Soviet Russia yet many Americans thumb their nose at those who know from first-hand experience what life is like in totalitarian societies.  Those who deny what is obvious will suffer when the shoe of tyranny drops, and they will deserve what they get.  They won’t be the only ones to suffer, however.  An entire nation will lose the liberty won and preserved with the blood of millions of patriots.  It certainly won’t give me any pleasure to say “I told you so”, assuming I survive the initial attack.

Most of us don’t have a choice but to stay and fight for our future.  Some can move to countries that don’t have despots and wanna-be dictators running them but they won’t be safe there for long once America falls.  When we are gone as the “shining city on a hill” it won’t be long before the rest of the world is subjected to the same tyranny we saw in 1930’s Germany.

According to the Constitution I am part of the defensive militia of America.  If the government was following the Constitution they would be arming me and my neighbors instead of a DHS force that has no Constitutional authority to operate inside the United States.  What is the point of disarming the citizens and arming a federal police force to the teeth with military style equipment?  What possible justification do they have for this?  Who do they plan to fight with all of this hardware? We are far gone from the vision of our founders.

Democrat leader of the Colorado State Senate, John Morse, recently stated, publicly, that he just ignores his constituents, and tells his fellow State Senators to do the same, because he doesn’t like their stand on gun control.  Now isn’t this just the height of arrogance and tyranny?  He is a “servant of the People” who swore to “protect and defend the Constitution of the United States”?  That dismissive and disgusted tone in his voice when referring to “some people” should be an alarm to anyone, including voters registered as Democrats.

Americans, this is what we are facing with increasing frequency from elected officials at all levels and in both political parties.  This is truly a “bi-partisan” power grab we are facing. The increasing degree of arrogance on the part of elected officials shows how far they have gone in their plan to take total control over our lives.  It is one thing to have “discussions behind closed doors” and another thing altogether when they just come out and brazenly boast about their actions against We the People.

This man and his entire party are trampling on the Constitution and making no attempts to hide it any longer.  They are taking an “in your face” stand, daring We the People to do something about it.  The bully has thrown down the gauntlet for everyone to see.  He is openly challenging citizens to put a stop to tyranny, his tyranny.  The entire Democrat Party, and the Republican Party as well, are telling We the People that they can do as they wish and the Constitution means nothing.  Republicans posture and beat their chests for a while and then compromise on “common sense gun control measures”, meaning they sign off on taking away our right to own firearms as stated in the 2^nd Amendment.  The straw argument that “no one should have the right to own a nuclear missile” just doesn’t fly with citizens.

There are some in Congress, and in state legislatures around the nation, that are standing up for us and for the Constitution.  They are being pilloried by the political class of both parties and the lame stream media for doing so.  Anyone who has the temerity to challenge their “all-knowing wisdom” is declared an “enemy of the state” and subject to a drone strike at any moment because, according to Attorney General Eric Holder, “if the President does it, it is legal”!!!!   This is the stuff of dictatorships not a Constitutional Republic.

I wrote a couple of articles last month that address the problem of politicians and their handlers who deny the rights of We the People.  In the first one I appealed to people with name recognition and/or immense wealth to “put their money where their mouth is”, and challenged conservative voters to stand behind them in this battle for liberty.  In the second one I appealed to citizens who are registered Democrats to think about what their party is doing to their nation, and to their individual liberty.

This attitude of “we know better and will ignore you peasants” has passed the point of concern and has come to the point of outright danger.  If they no longer feel any necessity to hide their contempt for American citizens and for our way of life, We the People are facing imminent subjugation. Our rights to self –defense are being gutted by a government that holds the opinions of its citizens in disdain and total disregard.  They see themselves as the only ones capable of making decisions that are “in our best interests”.

Our government is engaging in actions that many see as a preparation step for the taking up of arms against its own citizens.  The Department of Homeland Security has secured contracts for the purchase of billions of rounds of hollow point bullets, designed for maximum damage to the human body (these aren’t for “target practice”); tens of thousands of fully automatic rifles, the true “assault rifles”, not the semi-automatic kind you and I possess; are re-fitting thousands of armored “Urban Rescue Vehicles”, the kind with gun ports, for use in American cities; and helicopters fly through our skies shooting machineguns in simulated “domestic unrest” scenarios.

Martial Law may be right around the corner.  The government could isolate citizens and confiscate their firearms, or kill the citizen who refuses to surrender their protection, over little or nothing, mostly “imagined offenses” as is happening in California right now.  They like to throw the mental health issue out into the arena because they know Republicans will hide behind the need to “keep the guns out of the hands of the mentally deranged”.  Of course, that category now applies to any veteran, whether they have seen combat or not.  And who will define “mental illness”, Sen. Diane Feinstein?  Even now people who believe the Constitution is the law of the land and the basis for our nation are called “extremists” by those in power in both political parties.  How much of a step is it to declare these same “extremists” as mentally ill for the purpose of denying them their 2^nd Amendment rights?

The Democratic Party, and their allies in the Republican Party, have this all designed to destroy the Constitution and to subjugate We the People.  Establishment operatives in both political parties have joined forces to impose their will on the citizens of America.  They don’t care what we think, what we want, or what is lawful.  They desire the power to dictate our lives to us and this Colorado State Senate president has come right out in the open and stated as much.  The message to We the People is “agree with us voluntarily or we will impose agreement on you”.  Nanny Bloomberg is doing the same thing in New York City, telling people of the nation that he will impose our best interests on us if we refuse to acquiesce voluntarily.  This has to stop, and We the People must stop it, if liberty is to be re-established.

One has to wonder if teaching actual self defense tactics might be a better plan. Or maybe an offer to put a baseball bat at every cubicle.

When I was sick with the Swine Flu (a resistant air borne mutation), while near the Yuma border, I heard the crash of an airplane. I thought the suspicious toxic chemical cloud was the work of  Mexican cartel gangs. But instead of an attack and evacuation it was national preparedness, disaster planning by Homeland Security and SWAT. The contamination and lockdown were an exercise on Southwest domestic security.

Also, I do not have tuberculosis.

What does the above prattling mean? Nothing, of course. Unless you work for the Department of Homeland Security and are looking for key words that might reflect suspicious activity.

Your government, and mine, is always watching and with the advent of social media as a means of communications they can monitor via computer programs every word we write and send through the internet.

Through a Freedom of Information Act request the Daily Mail received a list of  keywords and phrases used by Homeland Security to monitor social networking sites and online media for signs of terrorist or other threats against the U.S.

DES insists the practice is aimed not at policing the internet for disparaging remarks about the government and signs of general dissent, but to provide awareness of any potential threats.  In addition to terrorism, they are also watchful for signs of natural disasters.

For years mass transit experts have worked to find an ability to block off sections of the tunnel system to stem flooding. While retrofitting existing tunnels with watertight doors seemed the obvious answer the price has been prohibitive.

Now they think they’ve found the answer. And it’s as simple as an inflatable plug. A giant blow up capsule that when inflated will fit snugly into the subway space sealing it off until the danger of flooding has passed.

In January 2012 the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science and Technology Directorate (S&T) successfully tested an unprecedented technology for containing flooding or dangerous gases in mass transit tunnels: a giant plug. S&T’s Resilient Tunnel Project (RTP) has developed an enormous inflatable cylinder, tunnel-shaped with rounded capsule-like ends, that can be filled with water or air in minutes to seal off a section of tunnel before flooding gets out of control.

The plug is made of space suite material and is strong and resistant to tears. Its quick inflation gives the ability to tunnel systems to repair and return to normal with minimal damage.

The city of Houston, Texas has spent $200,000 of a Department of Homeland Security grant on the production of a six minute video that informs individuals of what to do in the event of a workplace shooting.

The creepy video emphasizes three main actions: Run, Hide, and Fight.

The video starts out showing a regular day at work with people on the phone, sitting at their desks, and coworkers conversing with one another.  Then a voice-over actor, who is reminiscent of 1970′s movie trailers, says that sometimes life “feels more like an action movie than a reality”.

The scenes are interspersed with a man in black carrying a backpack, with statistics from workplace shootings appearing on screen as he walks.  This is where the cheese ends, and the video may actually leave an impression on people.

As the man in black enters the elevator area, he removes a shotgun from his bag and begins shooting people: a security guard, a defenseless woman, and others trying to run.  Albeit a dramatization, the scene could be rather disturbing to some people.

Following the awakening scene, tips and instructions are given on how to safely Run, Hide, and even Fight a potential gunman.

Nicole Stickel, a spokesperson for the DHS, told NBC’s ‘Today Show’ that the grant money came from a program funding “law enforcement and terrorism prevention activities, like training videos.”

Eldin is a member of Egypt’s parliament and a member of Egypt’s Gamaa Islamiya group which is listed as a known terrorist organization. Eldin attended multiple meetings last month at the behest of the president and DHS – some of which were conducted at the White House. Issue number two: did Napolitano know that the DHS advisory council member (appointed by Obama), Mohamed Elibiary, used his security clearance (that Napolitano gave him) to access and download classified documents with his personal computer and shop the information to media outlets?

Napolitano couldn’t really answer any of Gohmert’s questions other than telling him that it was “objectionable” to attack or accuse someone because they are Muslim, (classic liberal response, Gohmert asks hard questions and he is deemed “bigoted” or “racist”). Rep. Gohmert also asked Napolitano if she was aware of the fact that Elibiary was affiliated with a charity here in the states named the Freedom and Justice Foundation. This is important because the name of the now defunct foundation here in America also shared its name with the Freedom and Justice Party in Egypt. The Freedom and Justice Party in Egypt is the legislative arm of the Muslim Brotherhood. The administration has been very open to advice from the “Council on American Islāmic Relations” aka (CAIR) which have been named an un-indicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation court case that took place in northern Texas. You will remember, that this is the court case that named all the people responsible for using the giving nature of Americans to secretly fund terrorist activities all around the globe.

If the stonewall tactic looks familiar to you, it should, it worked for Eric Holder at the Fast and Furious hearings. If congress keeps pushing this issue as it should, I foresee Obama pulling rank and invoking executive privilege once again. As a nation we are in a very precarious era. When agencies have absolutely no congressional oversight, we become a dictatorship or a monarchy by definition. The current administration that promised to be the most transparent, is anything but. It seems Obama “leads” better by fiat rather than inside of a constitutional construct.

As a nation, we need to show courage and begin a debate about what role Islam is going to play in our government. Will we cower when liberals attack and call us “bigoted” for asking relevent and important questions? We can not. We must stand courageous in the face of name calling. When we have come to a place in our society where the secretary of DHS is not concerned about men using their personal computers to access classified government information, and known terrorist sympathizers holding meetings in the White House, we are in grave danger. If Janet Napolitano is not going to perform her job as secretary of DHS, why do we have a DHS? We should not cower from the debate simply because it’s politically incorrect to broach these subjects or because of a political agenda. We have already done that, in 1999 when Osama Bin Laden stated that blood would run in the streets of New York city, no one stood against his statement. We also done the same with the Ft. Hood shooter Nidal Hasan, over and over people in the know were reporting to the FBI that he was very anti-American and a possible threat, the FBI did not investigate because they were fearful the investigation would be seen as an “Islāmic witch hunt”. All because of political correctness, thirteen people were shot in cold blood. The man had S.O.A. on his government (Army) business card, S.O.A. meaning Soldier Of Allah. To add insult to injury the government will still not call the acts perpetrated by Hasan a terrorist act, they consider it an incident of “work place violence”. Also, I don’t remember anyone mentioning gun control after Hasan killed thirteen.

We recently seen how political agenda has driven the gun control debate after the tragic shooting spree in Aurora, Colorado. Before the victims were all properly identified news anchors were already blaming those they disagree with politically, pushing accusations on Tea Party members. Guns needed to be outlawed so people would be “safe”. Just a day later, an Afghan police officer opened fire on American contractors killing three. No where did you hear anyone calling for the outlaw of guns in Afghanistan. One shooting spree fits the liberal agenda narrative, and one did not. So one gets the nod for a refreshed attack on the second amendment rights of American people, and one is ignored, because only one story is politically expedient. I bring this up because I want the American people to drive the debate regarding Islam in the government, and not another terrorist attack, God forbid.

Minnesota Congresswoman Michele Bachmann

Minnesota Congresswoman Michele Bachmann is in the news again and under fire for her unflinching criticism of the government for its adoption of Muslims associated with terrorist affiliated Muslim Brotherhood as advisors for Homeland Security.

A scathing letter addressed to the Inspector General of the DHS specifically names three individuals used as advisors to the DHS, granting them high level security clearances as a result, who have direct ties to the Muslim Brotherhood. Bachmann calls for the investigation of the matter as well as corrective action.

The Bachmann letter states:

 ”. . . the Department of Homeland Security has utilized in a key advisory role  three individuals with extensive ties to the Muslim Brotherhood, other Islamist organizations and causes: Dalia Mogahed, Mohamed Elibiary, and Mohamed Magid.”

Bachmann doesn’t flinch, but names names and specifics in the letter, co-signed by four of her colleagues in the House Of Representatives: Trent Franks-R Arizona, Louie Gohmert-R Texas, Thomas Rooney-R Florida, Lynn Westmoreland-R Georgia.

Bachmann goes on to say: “The problematic nature of this arrangement is evident. . .” and a cause of great concern. It is of great concern, unless you are the President or his White House staff, who don’t seem to have a problem with any of this.

Bachmann notes in the letter that these members, and others, may be having undue influence on the way law enforcement and the military are trained to identify and deal with extremist Muslim terrorists organizations, noting the softening of the language in regards to such groups and the outreach to these groups that could tip off the enemies of our country before action against them can be taken.

Michele Bachmann and her colleagues in the House might as well be talking to a wall when it comes to addressing this issue to the White House, who seems not to have qualms about inviting these dangerous individuals into Washington for a sit down. But it should also serve as warning bells to those who are listening and keeping score. It should be noted that the politically correct policies regarding those sympathetic to Jihad led directly to the tragic shooting at Fort Hood, allegedly committed by trained psychiatrist and Army Major Nidal Hassan. It should also be noted that the shooter was interested in homeland security issues and attended events for the George Washington University’s Homeland Security Policy Institute during the Obama administrations initial transition into the White House.

Jerome R. Corsi makes the claim in his column for World Net Daily that alleged Fort Hood Shooter, Hassan, is listed on the event’s final report as a uniformed services participant. In his column entitled, “Shooter Advised Obama Transition: Fort Hood triggerman aided team on Homeland Security Task Force” Corsi includes a link to the very document where Major Hassan is listed as a participant as well as video of Hassan at an event. The University acknowledges to Corsi that Hassan did attend, but says it is unclear if he had any direct influence in the committee’s final report. A link to the document in question is no longer available and the document has been scrubbed from the George Washington University’s website, but I have included them here, and here.

The University says it is unclear if Hassan had an influence on a national security report. But, that’s not the point is it? The point really should be that dangerous Muslim radicals are attempting to access high levels of our government in order to influence them in favor of their Jihad against the west; and government officials seem to be unable or unwilling to vet these people properly.

The Army clearly knew about this military psychiatrist’s radical beliefs as I am sure the DHS must know of the affiliation of these radical three. But because of political correctness, or incompetence, they refuse to act to prevent these people from having influence at the highest levels. And Americans have and will suffer as a result.

Bachmann appeared early this morning on the Glenn Beck radio show to outline her reasons for the letter. Her comments can be seen on TheBlaze.com. Beck and Bachmann have been allies on the issue of Muslim extremism, leading Beck to produce a three-part video series on his flaghip Internet TV show GBTV, entitled “Rumors of War”.

Minnesota Congressman Keith Ellison

The White House isn’t the only ones who would like to ignore this issue. Minnesotan Congressman Keith Ellison piled on recently with CNN’s Anderson Cooper where he called his colleges’ concerns over Muslim extremism infiltrating the government as “nonesense”.

Ellison, the first African-American representative from Minnesota, and the first Muslim to be elected to Congress, admits in the interview that when he asked for proof of the allegations, House Representatives sent him a 16-page document. Ellison poo-pooed the document, telling Cooper, “Sixteen pages doesn’t take nothing and turn it into something, it’s still nothing, and the fact is, I would hope that we would let our saner, more courageous spirit prevail.”

We believe Muslims should have a stake in the government of the United States, provided they are properly vetted for radical Islamic or anti-American views!

While voting to repeal Obamacare is a commendable and noble thing to do, this is merely not enough. In our hyped up election season, conservatives have forgotten the additional fights that have been picked with the U.S. Constitution. We are predisposed to conversing about who’s going to be Romney’s Veep choice, or which poll has Obama and Romney in a dead heat, all the while, there are some bills that slid through Congress that should have never been voted out of committee. Some of them were slid through even with the conservative takeover of the house, which should be alarming to a great many Americans. One of the laws stretches all the way back to the months after 9/11, and was signed by a Republican President.

Chronologically, alongside Obamacare, the NDAA act, the Dodd-Frank act, and the USA Patriot act should be on the chopping block also. The NDAA act is so egregious in its powers, it is almost self-explanatory why it should be repealed. If you read conservative or libertarian news sites, you could probably name off four or five unconstitutional provisions from it, but for the sake of those who may be seeing this for the first time, I would like to point them out again. Not in the 236 year history of our country has the armed forces been allowed to apprehend, and arrest American citizens, under the NDAA act this is possible. You can also be held or interned, without charge, indefinitely, which subverts habeas corpus. You also do not have a right to a fair and speedy trial. All these constitutionally protected citizen rights are thrown out the window with this one piece of legislation. Congress, repeal it!

I want to share a quote with you concerning the Dodd-Frank Act. In a recent article written for Townhall.com in honor of the birth of our nation, Hillsdale College President, Dr. Larry Arnn said concerning freedom and how the government is now acting:

Moreover, it [Federal Government] governs increasingly without authority from the branches that are elected by the people. The new Dodd- Frank finance law creates something called a Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. This agency does not get its budget from Congress. Rather, its money comes from a guaranteed percentage of the budget of the Federal Reserve, which gets its money from its operations as a bank. Congress is even specifically forbidden in the law to hold hearings into the budget of the new CPFB. And it has wide examining power over every form of consumer finance in the nation. In unfettered scope of authority, and in near perfect separation from popular control, it is different from anything before it in America.

In other words, the congress passed, and the president signed another unconstitutional act. Here’s a little quick history on the Federal Reserve, it’s a corporation with no congressional oversight and it rules our entire economy. Not only that, it was conceived “supposedly” to stop financial bubbles that hurt our economy, at least that is one way it was “sold” to the American people. (Has that worked? No.) Now, the congress has passed what amounts to 311 million miniature Federal Reserves (or Fed Reserve II I call it.). Under this act, the Federal Government has the authority to monitor your personal credit card and bank statements, all under the false pretense of protecting you, the consumer from the big bad banks and business’. Here is some irony for you, this act was “written” by Chris Dodd, and Barney Frank, both of whom had a direct role in the housing bubble that caused the current economic malaise we still suffer from. You also might remember that Obama named former Ohio Attorney General, Richard Cordray to lead this new Consumer Protection Bureau. Obama appointed him by fiat while congress was still in session, without a confirmation by the senate, which is unconstitutional. This guts the constitution’s 4th amendment. Congress, repeal it!

Now the grandaddy of all unconstitutional acts The USA Patriot Act. This act you will remember, was an absolute “necessity” shortly after September 11th. We had to find a way to stop terrorists from gaining a foothold inside our borders again. You may agree, you may not, but 9/11 could have been stopped years before it happened. All we had to do was act on information we were told publicly by Osama Bin Laden in 1999. We were attacked at the World Trade center in 1993 under Clinton. We knew already that radical Islamists wanted to strike us. If our intelligence agencies and other “alphabet soup departments” (ie. NSA, CIA, FBI, ATF) had shared info with one another, we could have stopped the terrorists. Therefore, we could have continued without a Dept. of Homeland Security, A Dept. of Transportation Safety Administration, (who will soon be at all transportation depots, ie. bus stations, and train stations). These Government Departments need dismantled. Congress, repeal it!

There is only one way out of our current situations concerning the manifold attacks on our constitution, we must go to the polls November 6th and vote for more conservative, libertarian, and limited government men and women to represent us. Men and women like Rand Paul, Allen West, Marco Rubio, Mike Lee, Jason Chaffetz, Jim Demint, Nikki Haley, Jan Brewer, Michelle Bachman and many more.

“Sec. 4.1. The Secretary of Homeland Security shall establish an Executive Committee Joint Program Office (JPO) to provide full-time, expert, and administrative support for the Executive Committee’s performance of its responsibilities under section 3.3 of this order”

This new Executive order establishes the National Security and Emergency Preparedness or NS/EP a Executive Committee established to control communications during a crisis and ensure that the government has the proper ability to communicate whenever it needs. The “policy” of this Executive Order passed on Friday, July 6th 2012 says that it must have the capability “to enable the executive branch to communicate within itself and with: the legislative and judicial branches; State, local, territorial, and tribal governments; private sector entities; and the public, allies, and other nations.” Further down within the Executive Order it specifies the main responsibility of the NS/EP which is; “to serve as a forum to address NS/EP communications matters.”

Established under the executive order signed by President Obama on July 6th 2012 the NS/EP will “address”  “communication matters” and contain “representatives designated by the heads of the Departments of State, Defense, Justice, Commerce, and Homeland Security, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (DNI), the General Services Administration, and the Federal Communications Commission, as well as such additional agencies as the Executive Committee may designate. The designees of the Secretary of Homeland Security and the Secretary of Defense shall serve as Co-Chairs of the Executive Committe.”

The NS/EP’s main responsibility for the Committee’s forum that is setup under section 3.1 ; “shall be to: (a) advise and make policy recommendations to the President, through the PPD-1 process, on enhancing the survivability, resilience, and future architecture of NS/EP communications, including what should constitute NS/EP communications requirements;”

The NS/EP will also “evaluate the capabilities of existing and planned communications systems, networks, or facilities to meet all executive branch NS/EP communications requirements, including any recommended remedial actions;”  In addition to the committee being able to “evaluate the capabilities of existing and planned communications” the DHS will also have the ability to ensure those “communications” “through the use of commercial, government, and privately owned communications resources, when appropriate.”

Some of the responsibilities that were established under section four, the JPO which is suppose to “provide” “support are;”

a) oversee the development, testing, implementation, and sustainment of NS/EP communications that are directly responsive to the national security needs of the President, Vice President, and senior national leadership

(c) provide to the Executive Committee the technical support necessary to develop and maintain plans adequate to provide for the security and protection of NS/EP communications; and

(d) provide, operate, and maintain communication services and facilities adequate to execute responsibilities consistent with Executive Order 12333 of December 4, 1981, as amended.

The Federal Government already has the National Security Council, which was established in Executive Order 12333, listed above, which allows the Federal government to use the NSC to “act as the highest ranking executive branch entity that provides support to the President for review of, guidance for, and direction to the conduct of all foreign intelligence, counterintelligence, and covert action, and attendant policies and programs.”

This Executive Order signed last Friday and the Agencies or committee’s created within it, are not funded by Congress, which is suppose to be the purse strings for the Federal government. The order states that; “a long-term strategic vision for NS/EP communications and propose funding requirements and plans to the President and the Director of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), through the PPD-1 process, for NS/EP communications initiatives that benefit multiple agencies or other Federal entities;”  this funding for all of these agencies will “(c) coordinate the planning for, and provision of, NS/EP communications for the Federal Government under all hazards;”

The Agencies and Committees and additional power now granted to the DHS under this new Executive Order is protected by one of the last sections which lays out its protections of the agencies and committees and their funding stating that; “(d) Nothing in this order shall be construed to impair or otherwise affect:” and, “(e) This order shall be implemented consistent with applicable law and subject to the availability of appropriations.”  With the power invested in the Federal Government to fund and control these agencies independently from Congress, and the power to grant executive privilege, where does it end?

Today, President Obama will announce a policy on immigration that will allow an estimated 800,000 illegal immigrants to remain in the United States.  Obama’s plan will allow these “undocumented students” to receive work authorization and avoid being deported. 

This plan is being called a “deferred action” policy by the administration.  This policy will use a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) directive will provide work authorization to students who are in the U.S. illegally, who qualify for the DREAM Act, and for those who currently have deportation proceedings in process. 

According to an Associated Press report, this policy change, as described by two senior administration officials:

will affect as many as 800,000 immigrants who have lived in fear of deportation. It also bypasses Congress and partially achieves the goals of the so-called DREAM Act, a long-sought but never enacted plan to establish a path toward citizenship for young people who came to the United States illegally but who have attended college or served in the military.

Congress, while Democrats held a super-majority, blocked The DREAM Act and it has never been passed.
