What Would Jesus Really Do?????

   JesusI find it very interesting how people view Jesus today.  I am not a bible scholar and cannot quote more than just a few very common scripture verses, but is being able to quote chapter and verse from the Holy Bible really that important?  Knowing what the Bible says is important.  Living by Scripture, especially by the New Testament things taught by Jesus and his Apostles are important, but I find a lot of people who are so quote-crazy they don’t really seem to know much about what they are quoting.

For instance, Jesus is portrayed in most churches that I know of, and by every Christian I know as pious, benevolent, quiet, and soft spoken.  I don’t see him that way at all, at least not all the time.  As a matter of fact I think of Jesus as quite forceful, and a pain in the butt to the bureaucracy of his time; and to the “progressives” who now control our nation.  I see a side of Jesus that is often more like a drill sergeant in the Army.

The drill sergeants, and instructors I had throughout my military training were very good at their job.  They knew what they were teaching inside and out, and were very adamant about following the rules.  They were stern but as calm asDrill Sergeant could be until one of us stepped out of line.  They didn’t kill us for it, but made sure we got back in line and learned from our misstep.  They were teaching us to survive war.  I bet if I could sit there and actually watch Jesus I would see many times when he was like a drill sergeant; well-intentioned, stern, no-nonsense and fair.  He was teaching us to survive sin.

One scene every liberal and quasi-Christian likes to go to is the woman about to be stoned for adultery and Jesus says “he who is without sin cast the first stone”.  Everyone is real good at quoting that part to intimidate a Christian who is standing up for their beliefs.  And, Christians often use that as an excuse to cower, but I rarely hear the part quoted when He turns to the woman and says “go and sin no more”.   I don’t know which book, chapter, or verse it is but I do know the story.  People in general like to point to this episode as Jesus accepting the activities of this story, and giving the Joel Osteen fake smile while He makes everyone feel good about themselves.  I have always been taught that Jesus was so mild mannered and passive, yet he took a stick/club and drove the money changers out of the Temple in a fit of rage.  I find it very easy to believe Jesus was much sterner in the rock tossing scene than most would have us believe.

Jesus took on the Roman Empire and their puppet lackeys ruling the land of Israel.  That isn’t my idea of the Joel OsteenJesus and Money Changers, smiley faced, passive looking, man Jesus is portrayed to be.  I see Him as compassionate for those truly in need but at the same time having the ability to get on someone’s case mighty hard when necessary.  I don’t see Jesus handing out Obama phones to deadbeats.  What was it He said about those who don’t work, meaning those who refuse to work????? I think of Jesus as a hard-nosed but fair and compassionate leader.  He seemed to be quite the outspoken young man when he was found in the Temple after Joseph and Mary left Bethlehem without Him.

He didn’t have any problem making the Pharisees and Sadducees look like village idiots as they tried to trap Him into saying something they could use against Him.  He certainly didn’t seem to mind “hurting their feelings”.  And again, He didn’t have any inclination to shy away from violence and rage in the money changer incident.  Not quite as timid as I have always been taught!!!!!  And Jesus wasn’t exactly pleased when He came out of the Garden of Gethsemane andPharisees found his apostles sleeping.  Did He give them the Joel Osteen smile and softly ask them in a whiny voice why they couldn’t stay awake for a few hours, or did He scold them?  Again, I wasn’t there but from instances I have read in the life of Jesus I tend to think he was more like a drill sergeant “quite displeased” with the actions of his “trainee” followers.

He wasn’t the military leader the Jews of the day were looking for so many refused to accept His kingdom and follow Him, but then He allows all of us freedom of choice.  I wonder how the conversation really went when Satan took Jesus to the mountain top to tempt Him.  Was Jesus as passive and dry as the text makes him sound?  I think of Him as defiant, even dismissive, in a matter-of-fact sort of way at Satan’s blatant attempt at bribery.  Not arrogant but confident, not passive but bold.

Am I right or wrong about Jesus and His demeanor?  I don’t really know because I wasn’t there.  But from everything I read, His words and the words of His early followers, I see Jesus as a stern but loving example for us to follow.  Pandering to the “progressives” and their evil ways is not what Jesus would have us do.  He didn’t pander.  He said “hate the sin but love the sinner”.

Phil Robertson showed this in the magazine interview that has the GLAAD panties in such a wad.  He was matter-of-fact.  Phil stated what the Bible says, but also said that if people wanted to live their life that way it was their choice. Phil Phil Robertsonsaid that he would disagree and live his life as he sees fit, and allow them the same option.  As I mentioned in a previous article, Moslems don’t have that same benevolent attitude towards homosexuals.  Telling someone that standing out in the middle of a highway during the rush hour isn’t a good idea (Christians) isn’t the same as running over them with a car to save them from traffic (Moslems).

Jesus didn’t cut sinners any slack, but He gave them an option for something better.  I happen to agree that His way is best but it isn’t my responsibility to force everyone to live that way, and I won’t ever do that.  My responsibility, and that of every other Christian, is to state the Word of God, the Holy Bible, as it is written without forcing compliance; and doing my best to live as such.  Moslems force compliance under the penalty of death for those not so compliant.  Christians never call for death to those we disagree with.  We call for repentance, not forced compliance.

I continually hear Christians, and often from other Christians, belittled as “intolerant”.  Does anyone believe Jesus was really all that tolerant?  If everything in the Holy Bible, especially the New Testament, is the guide to live by, how “tolerant” would Jesus really be if He were here today?  Would Jesus jump up and down and applaud GLAAD, or would He scold them and tell them they are sinners?????  I do believe He would allow them the choice to make their decisionsEvil preaches tolerance as they wish while telling them scripture says they will not enter into the Gates of Heaven.

Abortion is another subject that causes quite a stir when it is pointed out to be murder by Christians.  “Progressives” once again get their panties in a bunch because Christians are “trying to impose their values on others”.  That isn’t true either.  Christians merely say that according to Scripture abortion is murder.  It goes against the passage that says “before you were in your mother’s womb I knew you”.  That removes the “blob of tissue” excuse from play in my mind, and that of other Christians.  If a woman wants an abortion it is between her, her doctor, and God; but don’t demand that abortion be the law of the land, don’t demand that I approve of it, and don’t demand that I pay for it.  That isn’t giving me the same freedom of choice that the pro-abortion crowd likes to crow about so much.

I don’t care how someone lives their life and don’t presume to have the authority to decide that for them, but I do have the authority and the responsibility to share my faith with them and to point out what is very clearly stated in the Bible.  Holy bibleThe commission given to me by Jesus Christ is to enlighten people with the Word, not beat them into submission with it.  At the same time pandering to avoid hurting their feelings or “offending” them isn’t what I see Jesus expecting me to do either.

Would Jesus expect me to ignore what He said is wrong so as to avoid “offending” someone or would he expect me to stand up for what I profess to believe and speak loud and clear as He did 2,000 years ago?  Passive, go along to get along, Christians are not what I believe Jesus is looking for.  All through the Bible the Israelites had to fight battle after battle.  God was with them but they still had to go out and fight the battle.  Christians are no different, at least according to the words of Jesus.

What My New Year’s Resolutions Mean!

Not like you care, but you might find some similarities between what you’re thinking and what I’m doing…

The top five resolutions are 1. Lose weight, 2. Get organized, 3. Spend less, save more, 4. Enjoy life to the fullest, and 5. Stay fit and healthy. Even more interesting is the percentages of accomplishment. Only 45% of Americans actually make resolutions and only 8% of those succeed… EIGHT PERCENT! (Pause here a moment and let that sink in!)

So, what makes me think I can keep mine? Do I think I’m better than those people? No. More stubborn? Yes! Willing to go to the wall? Yes!

There are many successful people in this world who simply never gave up. They pushed through and no matter how bad it got they never got disheartened. So, I’ll take a few of the major resolutions:

  1. Lose weight. I pledge to lose weight, the weight of all those naysayers who claim conservatives can’t win, can’t stand strong, and can’t come together to ensure a win. I resolve to dump the weight of those people who send me emails telling me how this country is lost and we will never come back. I will do it by doing what I do best, consistently focusing on the mark, pushing towards it and asking God (yes I said God) for His guidance for success and how to get God and country to the place of honor it deserves.
  2. Get organized. That’s so important! I’m not talking about lining up my suits in the closet or my underwear in the drawer, but getting my priorities straight. Organize my friends and acquaintances in such a way that I know who cares about what issues and have them help me strengthen this country again to make it, once again, the greatest country on the face of the planet. No one with “political correctness” need apply.
  3. Spend less, save more. Agreed! Spend less energy fighting unwinnable fights and save more energy to be used on battles we can win. People in my line of work spend energy fighting on many fronts about many issues. If you don’t focus, you can’t win. Pick one or two, you know your bandwidth, use the saved up energy and resources fighting and organizing (see item 2 above) to support those issues close to your heart.
  4. Enjoy life to the fullest. You have to have the “liberty” to “pursue happiness” and enjoy life to its fullest. Most people enjoy life when they are pursuing their dreams and working hard for their money to be able to save or invest as they see fit to better their lives. In order for me to be able to enjoy my life, I have to have control over it. What kind of healthcare I want or don’t want. Whether I want to join a union or not. How much debt I want to strap my children and grandchildren with.
  5. Stay fit and healthy. OK, I can only spin this one so much. Yes, we need to take care of ourselves so that we have energy for the fight, because people, believe me, it will be a fight. Those of you who are left-leaning see what’s happened over the last almost 5 years as a positive. In your mind, America is finally taking care of all its people. Healthcare for all, mortgage reductions for all, overreaching regulations in banking, the EPA, FCC, and labor board (to name a few). A decimation of our military not seen since the days of Mr. Clinton. None of that has been healthy… NONE OF IT! The economy is being propped up on government money steroids, and is so fragile that when a hint is uttered that the government may pull back just a little, the market tanks! None of these things are healthy not a one.

I resolve to hold my feet to the fire to push, poke, and prod myself and others around me to get this country back to “Liberty and Justice for All.” All people, any color, any size and ethnicity should be able to pursue their dreams.

I resolve to hold my elected officials feet to the fire to do what they said they were going to do when they ran for election.

I resolve to make sure every legal vote counts by shining a light on those who think that any person on American soil with a heartbeat has the right to vote. They don’t! Our founding fathers didn’t give up their property, family, and lives for us to spit on the Constitution.

I resolve not to back down from my American pride, my Christianity, my “MALEness”, or my love for God and country.

Join me in a New Year’s Resolution to ensure that:

We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity.

When will GLAAD Criticize Islam like They Do Phil Robertson?

Why is it that the Democrat Party, Republican Party, the media, homosexual groups like GLAAD, pro-abortion groups, and all other liberals who spout vile things about the TEA Party and Christians never have one word of criticism about Islam?????   Phil RobertsonA Christian can’t decline to bake a cake without national outrage but homosexuals being hanged for “aberrant sexual behavior” in Moslem nations bring no response.   If I called a homosexual any “defamatory name or term” such as “teabagger” I would immediately be inundated with the harshest of criticism but Moslems glue a man’s private parts closed and fill him with food and water until he is about to explode then hangs this same person and not a word is heard from the left wing homosexual crowd.

Phil Robertson expresses his views that homosexuality is a sin, and according to the Holy Bible they won’t go to heaven, but that he bears them no malice if that is how they wish to live their lives.  He is immediately pounced on by the twerps at GLAAD and every other Christian hating group under the sun.  Robertson is “suspended indefinitely” for his transgression.  I hear Moslems regularly calling for the murder of homosexuals, and actually see pictures of homosexuals who have been hanged or beheaded for homosexual activities.  I’m sorry GLAAD; I don’t recall your outrage at the “intolerance” of Moslems!!  I don’t recall a national outrage at this or the barbaric murder of Christians by Moslems in foreign nations.  Cat got your tongue?????  Where is the homosexual lobby outrage over Alec Baldwin and his continued verbal abuse of “faggot” reporters?????  Continuous homosexual slurs from Baldwin and not a peep out of those so outraged by Robertson’s innocuous comment.

Moslems hate America for its acceptance of pornography yet I never hear any liberals call them closed minded bigots.  Christians and Moslems both disapprove of the immodest way American women often dress yet it is the Christians who are taken to task and called names by liberals.  Why don’t these same liberals call Moslems closed minded prudish bigots for demanding women wear a burkha?????  Nudity and sex in movies and on television are just as unacceptable to Moslems as Christians, yet Moslems are not called “intolerant”.  I guess the difference is that Christians allow othershanging homosexuals4 to live their lives as they see fit. Moslems kill those same people.  Who is it that is intolerant again????? Maybe GLAAD should change their organization name to COWARDS!!!!!

And what about the “war on women”, allegedly being waged by conservatives??  Moslems either hang or stone a woman to death for adultery or the heinous crime of being raped.  Often it is a case of gang rape and when they are done, these savages murder the woman for “allowing herself to be defiled”.  And what about the genital mutilation of girls as young as six years old, or old men “marrying” an 8 year old and sexually abusing her to the point of her death?  When is the National Organization for Women going to denounce these practices????? Oh, sorry, they are busy denigrating Sarah Palin who is also being denigrated by the Democrat Party, and of course, the politically correct Republican establishment crowd.

Now we have NAMBLA (National Man Boy Love Association) claiming that pedophilia is just as much a valid sexual persuasion as homosexuality.  Christians who call this activity child sexual abuse are smeared once again as closed minded bigots determined to deny the civil rights of others.  Of course, on this one the Moslems are right there with NAMBLA.  Homosexuality is a crime punishable by death unless the self-righteous Moslems are the ones defiling the young boys in the name of “allah”, at which time homosexual activity is quite acceptable.

So, GLAAD, whIran hangs homosexuals3y do you call a national boycott and file lawsuits over a man declining to bake a cake or take a picture based on his personal religious beliefs yet say nothing about people actually murdering homosexuals?  Why do you demand Phil Robertson be destroyed for expressing his opinion yet say nothing when Ahab the Arab hangs your kind for homosexual activity?  Take your dancing debauchery of “gay rights” parades to say, Tehran or Mecca.  See if they call you names or hang you!!!!!  Selective tolerance once again?????  Cowardice maybe?????  As far as I see you are tolerated a great deal by all of us “bigots”.  TEA Party Christians aren’t your enemies, Moslems are your enemies.  You are fighting the wrong people.

What do You Believe?

Duck Dynasty patriarch, Phil Robertson was recently attacked for basically quoting (albeit loosely) scripture and talking about his basic beliefs in an interview with GQ magazine. He talked openly about his experiences working alongside black workers back in his day and you would have thought he was caught skinning cats alive in the public square!

Phil also spoke to what the Bible says about the “natural use of the body.” It’s what his belief system teaches. And, yes, it’s the Christian system, although his explanation was certainly Phil-ified!

My Christian friends are quick to say they would not have said it the way that he did, but they never said whether they would stand behind the spirit of what he said. Christians retreat, hide under a rock, and don’t openly support Phil, even though they do agree.

I could explain what Phil meant by his comments about the black people with whom he picked cotton, but some people are just dead-set on hating him and people like that don’t really care for an explanation. I even polled some of my black friends about Phil’s comment. None of them took offense.

In actuality, Phil made no mention of Jim Crow laws (none that I saw), yet the left infers that he did. Shame on them for assuming. Former MSNBC host, Martin Bashir, made direct slavery-related comments toward Sarah Palin and not a word from any of those left-wingers. Shame on them for being hypocrites. Still no support for what Phil Robertson stood up for.

I spoke to a few people who know Phil. They have all said he hasn’t changed from when he was flat broke, to when he was making money with the duck call business, to what he is now making on A&E. He hasn’t changed. The money and other resources he has given to those in need, the poor, the sick, and the homeless has increased as God increased him (you Godless don’t need to try to figure that out it may hurt your brain).

Phil has stuck to his beliefs and let the whole world see them through the Duck Dynasty TV show, even when the network pressured him to downplay his beliefs on the air. Now he’s being attacked because he had the audacity to state his beliefs to a reporter. The same beliefs he’s been stating all along. His story hasn’t changed. And where are my Christian brothers and sisters on this issue? The sound of 80 million Christians should be deafening.

My anger at the people who quickly came against Phil was tempered by my belief in God. Three scriptures came to mind. Jesus said, “They will hate you for my sake,” “I never knew you,” and John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that he gave his Son” to us for salvation.

The first is self-explanatory. Basically, if you love Jesus and keep His commandments, people know it and they will hate you. Look at the persecution, not simply people complaining, but the persecution that goes along with being a Christian. In the United States we have it easy compared to other parts of the world where Christians are executed, maimed, raped, tortured, and beheaded for their beliefs. In the good ol’ U.S. of A. we simply have to fight (with words, not fists!) to be able to live out our principles.

Businesses who are Christian-owned cannot refuse to provide service to gay or lesbian couples. The cake baker and the photographer that believe that those lifestyles are sinful to God are not allowed to practice their religious freedom in America and refuse to participate in same-sex marriage ceremonies. They must either go against their God or close their business. Freedom of religion? Nope, not really. Try being a Christian in other parts of the world where a piece of paper with a scripture written on it is a death sentence.

The second scripture, “I never knew you” referred to religious people of the day that were outwardly doing things that made it look like they were following Christ, but they didn’t really love Him and didn’t really understand what He was teaching. Many people today are Sunday-go-to-meetin’ Christians. It’s easy to look like a Christian when you are in the herd, but it’s a whole different story when you are by yourself. Phil has no problem with this. He is who he is, whether he’s at home alone or in front of cameras.

He’s not the only one. There are other well-known people and brands who are willing to stand up for what they believe their God wants them to do as written in scripture. Tim Tebo, Philip Anschutz – Regal Entertainment Group, Mr. & Mrs. Chang – Forever 21 Owners, David Green – Hobby Lobby, Kathleen Marie Ireland – Kathy Ireland Worldwide, Mary Kay Ash – Mary Kay Cosmetics, Samuel Truett Cathy – Chik-fil-A, and Harry & Esther Snyder – In-N-Out Burger, just to name a few. None of these people have an issue with who they are and they make sure God gets the glory for their wealth.

The third and final scripture, John 3:16, is for my Christian friends. Are you pleasing to your God? Are you doing what God has asked you to do? Are you ashamed to be a Christian? Now, I don’t mean that you are an “in your face – you’re going to Hell unless you accept Christ”-type of Christian. I mean a Daniel and Joseph kind of Christian. Do you do what God’s word expects you to do? Do you feed the poor, take care of the sick, the widows, and the orphans? If you do, great! Do you proclaim God’s word? Do you share God’s love? Are you willing to risk it all in to defend what you believe? Are you willing to give it all for Christ? Tim Tebo was. Sam Cathy was. Phil Robertson was. And Jesus Christ did. God gave His best for us. Are you giving your best to Him? Are you willing to defend your belief to a new or potential client at the risk of losing them? Jesus never backed down. He was willing to tear up the temple area when the merchants turned it into a flea market of thieves!

It’s all well and good to be running around buying gifts and saying Merry CHRISTmas, but are you really willing to live, share, and defend the best gift with the true meaning of love… that is, Christ our Savior is born.

Sen. John McCain appeared on Fox News this morning, and apparently decided it was a good idea to compare Syrian rebels crying out “Allahu Akbar” after hitting a Syrian jet with an anti-aircraft missile to Christians calling out “Thank God” after doing the same.

Fox News Insider was quick to fire back:

Sen. McCain has no idea what he’s talking about.

Allahu Akbar is what the terrorists said before flying jetliners into the World Trade Center Towers, the Pentagon and a field in Pennsylvania.

Thank God is what they said when Americans discovered their loved ones survived the attacks.

Allahu Akbar is what traitor Nidal Hasan said before American soldiers were slaughtered at Fort Hood.

Thank God is what they said when Americans discovered their loved ones survived the attacks.

Perhaps Sen. McCain should refrain from theological dissertation and do what he does best – carry President Obama’s water.

Evangelicals Swing Both Ways on Social Issues

Obama Show PapersA significant proportion of the US population feels marginalized and suffers from perceived widespread disrespect. Their desires are discounted and in some instances actively discouraged by state, federal and local government. Families are either split or prevented from coming together, which results in children who are denied the benefits of a two–parent family. Circumstances beyond the control of these individuals have put them in the shadows, outside the mainstream of American society and at the mercy of an often cruel and heartless public.

And that’s why Jim Daly, president of Focus on the Family and the Southern Baptist Convention’s Ethics & Public Policy Center have both come out in support of homosexual marriage. As Daly said in an interview with Christianity Today, “What are the solutions to help get these families together, get them in a lawful state, one that can be recognized, and then move forward? I think that is a healthy situation for the country. Let’s get behind this, not play politics with it left or right and not fearmonger with it. These are people that need dignity. Even though in some cases they’ve broken the law, there’s always that heartfelt story out there where you just tear up looking at what they’re facing now. We need to do what’s humane.”

No wait. That’s the quote Daly used in support of amnesty for illegal aliens. As of the time this post was written Focus and the Southern Baptists still oppose homosexual marriage. But can someone point out to me why their reasoning on illegal aliens doesn’t apply to homosexuals, too? Both groups have been in an unlawful relationship for a number of years and they want to either escape worldly consequences in one case and Biblical responsibility in the other.

I know the Bible says welcome the stranger and not welcome the sodomite, but when you base your theology on feelings instead of Truth, there is no difference in the two situations. A plain reading of the Bible shows marriage is one man to one woman and homosexuality is prohibited — occasionally by fire and brimstone. And strangers are to be welcomed as individuals by individuals, but nowhere does it say stealth invasions in violation of the law are to be encouraged. In fact, I would challenge anyone to show me where in the Bible a law breaker or sinner is rewarded for his or her transgression?

Or for that matter, where people are encouraged to emulate a class of law breakers in the future?

The situation is simply not there. Illegals aren’t mentioned by name in either testament, but if we can’t apply observations or analogous situations from the Bible to modern life, then the book is dead and useless.

Look at how similar both situations are. Both population groups feel put upon. Homosexuals and illegals want to come out of the shadows and gain the stamp of approval from government and society at large: A marriage license in one case and documentos de ciudadanía in the other.

If Daly and my own Southern Baptist governing body are to be consistent, then they have to either support both or oppose both.

Prior to the Supreme Court decision that branded people like me who oppose the perversion of God’s institution of marriage as hate–filled bigots, Daly and Focus helped to produce an e–book that contained five questions and answers about same sex marriage that outlined their opposition. The irony is the same questions and answers apply to illegal aliens, but they support legalizing them.

Here are the questions and answers with the marriage–related in regular text and the illegal–related in boldface.

1. Why does marriage matter to the government? Why do borders matter to the government?

Government recognizes marriage because it is an institution that benefits society in a way that no other relationship does. Marriage ensures the well-being of children…Government recognizes, protects, and promotes marriage as the ideal institution for having and raising children. Borders protect citizens from the incursions of lawbreakers great and small and it makes sure the benefits and responsibilities of citizenship go to people who have earned it. Defending the borders is one of the principle responsibilities of government.

2. What are the consequences of redefining marriage? What are the consequences of redefining citizenship?

Redefining marriage would hurt children. Decades of social science-including very recent and robust studies-show that children do better when raised by a married mom and dad.

Redefining marriage would further separate marriage from the needs of children. It would deny as a matter of policy the ideal that a child needs a mom and a dad. Redefining citizenship would hurt the rule of law. Separating citizenship from the responsibility to obey the law only encourages future disrespect for the law and future illegal immigration. Ideally law–abiding individuals make better citizens.

3. Why do you want to interfere with love? Why can’t we just live and let live? Why do you want to interfere with ambition?

Marriage laws don’t ban anything; they define marriage. Immigration law doesn’t ban ambition, it only defines where one is allowed to be ambitious.

4. Isn’t denying same-sex couples the freedom to marry the same as a ban on interracial marriage? Aren’t immigration law supporters just using the law as an excuse for bigotry?

No. Racism kept the races apart, and that is a bad thing. Marriage unites the two sexes, and that is a good thing. Marriage must be color-blind, but it cannot be gender-blind. No. Immigration law is color–blind, but it cannot be geography–blind. The fact that most illegal border crossers come from countries adjacent to the US does not make the enforcement of the law biased, no more than spraying for mosquitoes means you oppose flying.

Marriage is society’s best guarantee of a limited government that stays out of family life…A study by the left-leaning Brookings Institution found that, between 1970 and 1996, $229 billion in welfare expenditures could be attributed to social problems related to the breakdown of marriage. A good job is society’s best guarantee of a limited government that stays out of family life. Illegal immigrants are exploited by employers and compete unfairly with low–income workers. Americans would be happy to do the work now taken by illegals if the pay rates were not distorted and artificially depressed by law–breakers. Employers who circumvent the market and rig the system against the people who need the jobs the most, create unemployment which increases stress on families and marriages.

There is no intellectual consistency in Daly’s or the SBC’s position on illegal immigration and homosexual marriage. Daly contends, “When you look at it, the immigration issue is not just a legal issue. We respect what needs to be done there and hopefully we can strengthen laws, enforce laws and do all the things that we need to do in that way, because it’s important for a country to establish its borders and maintain its borders. But when you look at the family impact now and the stories we’ve received over the past year or two, it’s pretty tragic what’s occurring.”

Illegal immigration breaks at least three of the Ten Commandments. Illegals often steal the identity of citizens to get papers. They lie about their status in the country. And the motivation that brought them here in the first place was coveting a lifestyle they didn’t have.

And what’s occurring is all self–induced. Would Daly advocate keeping a drug addict supplied with heroin so he won’t feel compelled to steal and possibly break up his family if he’s sent to jail? How about telling a wife to put up with infidelity if it keeps the family together and the children aren’t upset?

Daly and the SBC are busy undermining their credibility and authority. It’s a shame. I expected better.

Pentagon’s war on Christianity

Jesus_midimanWhen it is one situation, it’s possible to just say it’s an aberration. Two? Well, the likelihood that it’s a coincidence starts going down dramatically. Three? Like the baseball analogy, “three strikes, and you’re out!” And that is precisely where the U.S. military is right now.

Since April 5th, readers of Todd Starnes writing have been shown examples of the U.S. military adopting policies or actions that can’t be called anything but firmly anti-Christian. In that first report, Starnes pointed out that the U.S. Department of the Army had labeled Evangelical Christians and Catholics as religious extremists. That is sensitive terminology, because it is typically attached to potential security risks – individuals or groups that may engage in violent activities to promote their goals. Using that terminology in reference to those religious organizations places them on a list with terrorist organizations. Of course, objections to this classification have been lodged, but it remains to be seen whether or not there will be any changes made.

Then, there was a report about a directive given to soldiers, requiring that they remove a reference to a bible verse that is etched on the scopes of their weapons. There were instructions on a procedure to remove the references entirely, including filing and cleaning. The references were placed on the scopes by the vendor. Why the military considers a minuscule marking on the equipment such a danger to service members remains to be seen. It could be argued that it could be bothersome in the field, if the scopes were seen by enemy combatants. However, it is no secret to anyone that there are many Christians in the U.S. military.

Finally, there is a report about military personnel not being able to access the Southern Baptist Conference website from base computers. Other than preventing members of that denomination from being able to access information from their churches, it is also hampering the ability of Baptist Chaplains to perform their duties. And, apparently, this block isn’t being initiated by the Pentagon, but by “Team CONUS” – the entity that is in charge of maintaining security for the computer systems in question. As for the reason given to users about why the site is being blocked, they are shown a screen that states the site may contain “hostile content.”

Any one of these situations is not a good sign, and definitely runs contrary to the old military adage “there are no atheists in foxholes.” Put them all together, and it appears there is a trend building in the military to remove religious references entirely.

I got a comment the other day from “a person on the Christian Left” in response to the “Left Conveniently Rewriting History” article that CDN was kind enough to publish. The comment was:

“the problem is that we on the Christian left HAVE had that cvraensotion (I guess the word here is “conversation”), and like the cartoon, have been told that we’re not Real Christians. It’s like talking to people who watch FOX noise; you can SAY there’s economic inequity, global warming, etc, but it’s rather exhausting, and quite possibly pointless.”

That (IMHO) is a very provocative comment, so I want to share my response. I respond thusly:

“Person on the Christian Left,” yours is a very interesting comment. You say, “… we on the Christian left …”, and you refer to “… FOX noise…”. So, am I safe in assuming that you are liberal, and consider yourself a Christian? With that assumption as a starting point, what does the Bible say?

Are you familiar with Leviticus 25:35-36? These verses are provided below:
35: If any of your fellow Israelites become poor and are unable to support themselves among you, help them as you would a foreigner and stranger, so they can continue to live among you.

36: Do not take interest or any profit from them, but fear your God, so that they may continue to live among you.

Not one word here about what Liberals/Progressives/Democrats (LPD) just love to do: tax, tax, tax and redistribute wealth, all in the name correcting what the left considers to be “economic inequity” (your words). The Bible calls for people to be generous OF THEIR OWN ACCORD, not to FORCE generosity upon them through taxes. Further, if the Christian right is not generous enough by LPD standards, there is absolutely nothing prohibiting the Christian left from preventing economic inequity. The question then becomes: What right do you (LPDs and/or the Christian left) have to FORCE us to do your bidding?

And, are you familiar with Genesis 2:15: “The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.” So, it’s very difficult to continually support the economic inequality of someone who refuses to work. Notice that I did NOT say “cannot find a job.”

Politics has NO place in Christianity. Even Jesus knew that, and expressed that sentiment in Matthew 22:20-21, to wit:

20: and he [Jesus] asked them [the Pharisees], “Whose image is this? And whose inscription?
21: “Caesar’s,” they replied. Then he said to them, “So give back to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to God what is God’s.”

Bottom Line: People on the left may, indeed, be “Real Christians,” but there is absolutely no place in Christianity for politics, regardless of what the left says. Please do not FORCE your opinions about economic inequality upon us.

Prominent on the list of things we didn’t know we needed is the new code of ethics for preachers released this year by the National Association of Evangelicals. It appears evangelical pastors have been flying blind, without any sort of guidance as to Christian behavior in the pulpit and church offices.

The new code also means I’ve wasted hundreds of dollars on Bibles and commentaries that — judging by the NAE — provide no real structure for living a life that glorifies Christ.

Dang! Where did I put those receipts?

Until now I’d assumed external offenses are handled quite nicely by criminal law and internal offenses governed by the Bible. That’s what I get for practicing theology without a divinity degree.

Luder Whitlock, former president of the Reformed Theological Seminary, explained in a Christianity Today interview, “Clergy intend to do the right thing, but…when you have a world that’s swirling with change like ours and so few people know the Bible well, it’s all the more imperative to come up with something like this.”

In other words, the Bible might have been comprehensive enough for nomadic tribesmen who followed a smoke signal instead of a GPS signal, but not modern iPhone man. But if these people “don’t know the Bible well” what are they doing in the pulpit?

Helping God out when it comes to rules and regulations is nothing new in ecclesiastical circles. I belong to a church that was so strict Jesus couldn’t be a deacon. You see the Lord and Savior was also a drinker and it was forbidden to imbibe.

But even our canonical rule writers failed to stay current. So it came to pass that one could smoke crack with Mayor Barry and be a deacon in good standing, but one “easy pour” Miller and you’re out.

However, I remain convinced the Ten Commandments, Golden Rule and the New Testament will cover any modern eventuality. The NAE cites pastors involved in extramarital affairs (7th Commandment), sexual assault (7th & Golden Rule) and financial fraud (8th & 10th Commandment, Golden Rule). Expanding our search we find pastors guilty of homosexual abuse of minors (7th, 1st Corinthians 6:9, Luke 17:2), visiting prostitutes (7th and 1st Corinthians 5:1), tax fraud (8th & 9th Commandments), stealing babies (8th & 10th Commandments), assault (Golden Rule) and misrepresenting credentials (9th Commandment).

So where are the loopholes?

Pastor Joel Hunter, who signed the code, told the Washington Times: “There’s a need that we’re reminded of when we see pastors living unethical lives. We want to raise the level of accountability because apparently some pastors believe they’re a law unto themselves.”

A statement that sounds remarkably like the boastful Pharisee in Luke 18:10–11: “Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector.11 The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other people—robbers, evildoers, adulterers—or even like this tax collector.”

Pastors are already held to a higher standard. In James 3:1 it says, “My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment.” Not a verse you hear too often from the pulpit since it puts a real damper on Sunday school teacher recruitment.

It just goes to show somewhere, someone is pouring the foundation on a new Tower of Babel every day. Codes like this were only a matter of time after churches started developing “mission statements.” If the Great Commission isn’t your mission, what is?

Too many Christian leaders are slightly embarrassed by the Bible. They’ve forgotten their apologetics and simply apologize when it comes to the eternal Truth.

No wonder people are leaving the church. If the religious leadership doesn’t have enough faith in the applicability of the Bible to modern life to live by it, why should the congregation pay attention? Meanwhile the morals and tone of the culture at large continue a precipitous decline as Christians and pagans alike make it up as they go along.

The earnest people at the NAE with their new “code” are unfortunately contributing to the erosion of confidence in the Bible among their own believers and certainly among the secular world. Where does this quest for relevance stop?

For example, NAE is currently holding firm on homosexual marriage, but for how much longer? Biblical marriage certainly doesn’t conform to modern mores. If you can revise and extend the commandments, what’s to stop you from joining the Unitarians and revising marriage?

Paul tells us — pastors and parishioners alike — to “put on the full armor of God.” He certainly felt that “armor” was up to the challenge. I wonder why the leaders of the NAE don’t feel the same?

Mother Teresa and the Destruction of Christianity

I am not Catholic but I am an Indian. Having lived in India for more than a decade of my life, I know a thing or two about the poor who continuously struggle with abject poverty and hopelessness every day. Thus, an attack against the character and reputation of Mother Teresa is incomprehensible to me. Yet, the ongoing onslaught against Christianity is hardly surprising at all.

The Atheists Humanists Agnostics (AHA) of Dartmouth College plan to consider Mother Teresa’s character by looking through the lenses of Christopher Hitchens’s Missionary Position: Mother Teresa in Theory and Practice. According to Hitchens’s Mother Teresa was anything but “good.”[1] Her love and commitment to the poor was simply a façade. The title of the book itself is a strong indicator of Hitchens’s (err) position. Hitchens uses cheap, vulgar, and double meaning to make his case and it is obvious that his interest is merely in selling his book and bagging the funds. Unfortunately, Dartmouth College students blinded by anti-Christian rhetoric are more than happy to support his pathetic cause. It would be interesting to see how many of them have actually done anything to help the poor in their own communities let alone abroad.

It is easy to cast the stone on a woman, now gone forever, who gave up everything to help those who were in deep need. Perhaps these wonderful atheists should consider taking a trip to India and spend one day doing what Mother Teresa did gladly for most of her life. Life in India is hardly as glamorous as Bollywood would have one believe. For the “enlightened” ones who follow Hitchens and listen to the Deepak Chopras of the world, no, the beaches of Goa do not equate to the slums of Calcutta. The heat in itself is enough to make one insane and that is nothing to say of disease, oppression, congestion, filth, or death.

Of course, the idea would hardly occur to these thinkers since the plight of the poor in India is hardly the objective of their gimmick. Indeed, in this case, their idea is to extend a “healthy debate” sitting atop the cushioned seats of Dartmouth College where they rip Christianity to shreds.  After all, how dare Mother Teresa think she could give up everything, travel halfway around the world, live (and die) in the midst of strangers?  How dare she show compassion and love to the poor, an unfortunate group shunned shamelessly by their own society? Such a notion is apparently inconceivable to these godless students. It is unimportant if the poor in India themselves loved Mother Teresa or were grateful for her service.  What is important is that people should have the freedom to debate, defame and destroy Christianity at any cost.  Yes, we should all listen to these great, godless thinkers of Dartmouth College and follow suit without fail. Right.

Chick–fil–A: Fast food, faster hate

My sympathy goes out to the president of the Chamber of Commerce where I live. Here Rob Clapper was simply trying to line up an interesting speaker and suddenly he’s in the midst of a controversy.

Who would have thought when he scheduled Ku Klux Klan Grand Wizard Nathan Bedford Forrest as the November speaker that Forrest’s views on white supremacy would become the focal point of the event?

“We had begun to coordinate it long before his remarks, but his remarks are irrelevant because this chamber does not engage in or have a part in social issues, “ Clapper said.

“Regardless of what his personal beliefs are and what he’s stated about social issues, that doesn’t play a part in what he’s coming here to speak about. Many of our members…have expressed a strong desire to hear the business practices and strategies that the KKK deploys in building a nationwide organization with over one million members,” Clapper concluded.

Oh, wait — inviting a genuine bigot who promoted violence and intimidation would have been a genuine controversy. Instead what we have here is a faux controversy ginned up by the same fanatics supporting faux marriage.

When Clapper invited Chick–fil–A President Dan Cathy to speak to the chamber it should have been an interesting event with an excellent speaker. Instead Clapper is now fielding questions from hysterical grievance–mongers who make it a point to attack any public figure that does not support their unprecedented redefinition of marriage.

Well, you may say, that’s what Cathy gets for spewing his “hate” during a news conference at the National Press Club. Except that’s not what happened. Cathy was interviewed by the Baptist Press. So a Baptist news service was interviewing a prominent Baptist about his faith. Homosexual extremists had to conduct an extensive search to find something that would offend them.

What’s more, during the interview Cathy didn’t “attack homosexuals” and he didn’t “oppose homosexual marriage.” Here’s what he said after being asked if he and the company support the traditional family, “We are very much supportive of the family — the biblical definition of the family unit…We intend to stay the course, we know that it might not be popular with everyone, but thank the Lord, we live in a country where we can share our values and operate on biblical principles.”

In an earlier interview with the Biblical Recorder, a weekly newspaper published by the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina, Cathy said, “We are very much supportive of the family – the Biblical definition of the family unit…I think we are inviting God’s judgment on our nation when we shake our fist at Him and say, ‘We know better than you as to what constitutes a marriage,’ and I pray God’s mercy on our generation that has such a prideful, arrogant attitude to think that we have the audacity to try to redefine what marriage is about.”

It’s not like Cathy was asked to cater a homosexual wedding, although I’m sure there will soon be an avalanche of carefully documented requests by wedding parties eager to exchange their free–range, living–will crab cake tapas for a wheelbarrow full of Chick–fil–A nuggets.

Cathy was simply making a positive statement regarding what he believed. It was hardly a declaration of war on homosexual “matrimony” and I doubt many would consider the Biblical Recorder a national platform rivaling the Washington Post.

Still, Cathy does not appear to have read the part of the Constitution stipulating the separation of God and mammon. In today’s Brave Liberal World you are grudgingly allowed to practice Christianity in the privacy of your own home, as long as everyone is a willing participant and you practice “safe religion.” Of course there is zero tolerance for Christians if they start proselytizing at rest stops and in public parks.

On the other hand, if Chick–fil–A wanted to sponsor a float in a homosexual “pride” parade — where participants often dress as sexual organs and the behavior by some participants is so vile you would cover the eyes of children — Cathy might land a profile in the New York Times.

Social conservatives are in a culture war with an opponent that will accept no compromise. By the time you read this “Chick–fil–A Appreciation Day” will be over. I hope millions of Americans supported a company that is not cowed by the liberal media and homosexual extremists.

Even more, I hope that at the next chamber board meeting they not only reaffirm their invitation to Dan Cathy, but they do it between bites of a Chick–fil–A deluxe spicy chicken sandwich.

Media Deception and Brainwashing Techniques Working Well

I ran across an article by Ben Kinchlow in a World Net Daily “Commentary” column  a few days ago, and the title caught my attention. The “Exclusive” line hit a nerve with me. The quote in that line, “Founders’ intent has been subverted by new doctrine” must be the largest understatement in the history of this nation. But he hits the nail on the head, directly and powerfully. This article by Kinchlow is absolutely fabulous and right on the money. He has broken our nation’s problems down to a level that anyone with any bit of comprehension should be able to see and understand. The media is one great big propaganda scheme orchestrated to control everything we think, and do.

The media tells us how we “deserve” anything and everything we desire, and that whatever we want should be provided for us by someone else. Unfortunately it is working all too well. These people are trampling on the very fabric of our nation and pulling the rug of freedom right out from underneath us while millions sit around and watch the latest rage in “I Got’s Some Talent” nonsense.
Kinchlow quite aptly describes the treatment and even the “labeling” of conservative elements in society today by the media, and the politicians they pay to control us with laws and regulations. Isn’t profiling and labeling wrong according to these very media brainiacs? Everything the founders stood for is ridiculed at the very least. Most of the values of Washington, Jefferson, Madison, and the others are totally derided or ignored by the media and the politicians. Anyone espousing anything decent, honest, traditional, or earned is ridiculed and intimidated into silence by bullies and tyrants. And don’t you dare bring any mention or glimpse of anything remotely Christian.

Time Magazine comes out and says Catholic bishops should be put in prison for expressing their outrage at the latest example of dictatorial bullying in the Sebelius rule about abortion and religious facilities (a part of Obamacare no one mentioned in the highlight reels of the campaign). That is some nice “freedom of speech” stance by that veritable Communist rag. “Thank You 3rd Rail” for the staunch defense of freedom of speech for all. Now, back to “I Got’s Some Talent”.

And while America is focused on the latest “talent” show serial, the politicians are flowing with this politically correct nonsense and passing laws and regulations, including involving our very use of language (“Hate Crimes” legislation comes to mind). More “feel good”, “let’s stop bullies” legislation, yeah!!! But it doesn’t stop the bullies, it only encourages them. The bullies are the ones deciding what is bullying and what is “freedom of speech”.

When you see there the money is and where it goes in KInchlow’s article you begin to find a pattern. The unions, and Wall Street / “K” Street tycoons make and spend their money in the same places. Look at the money spent by politicians and their backers to buy media time, some of it even acknowledged as political ads. Go research some more and broaden your horizons. This is one big circle of financial deals that doesn’t include us “commoners”. This benefits the REAL 1%’ers, and it really isn’t that hard to see if you look.

Take a real close look at the Republican candidate debates. The “moderators” can’t find anything more important than who is going to pay for condoms for whom? The candidates all wring their hands and say we have to be “compassionate”, and “we need to be inclusive”, yada yada yada. We are being played by a very elaborate system of bait and switch, and we are being played by professionals. This is what they do, con good hearted people into doing what is desired by the baiters. It is a mob mentality of “attack the one who doesn’t conform”. Isolate, Denigrate, Destroy. Make an example of one to keep millions in line.

Your freedoms are being spirited away right under your noses. Anyone who stands up and speaks out against this activity is pounced on by the wolves in an instant. Look at the treatment given “Joe the Plumber”, Sarah Palin, Sharon Angle, Christine O’Donnell, and countless others who have had the audacity to stand in defiance of the media and their left-wing politicians (both parties included here).

And notice how few of the “staunch conservatives” in the Senate stand with Jim DeMint and Tom Coburn when it comes time to start giving some semblance of control back to the citizens. The House of Representatives is even worse. Leadership of both parties in both houses of Congress is corrupt and playing us every day by cheap talk and actions opposite of what they promised us to get elected.
Once again the Republican Party trots out a bunch of current or former politicians, the same lame ones who have had a hand in ruining our nation, and tells us we better “pick one of them or our nation is lost”. “Anyone but Obama, as long as it is one of these guys”. Go back as far as Gerald Ford and see if I am right (guess who didn’t want Ronald Reagan). And then all the “conservative” talking heads come on and tear anyone who does not fit their agenda to pieces, i.e., Herman Cain. “Conservatives need not apply” is the message from those running the Republican Party and its propaganda arm in the media. Of course, the Democrat Party and their large propaganda subsidies are more than happy to assist in the character assassination of anyone remotely conservative in any value. Oh, by the way, “truth need not apply” either.

Each candidate is the “only one” that can solve our nation’s woes and “if we don’t vote for him we are doomed” We the People are also told, by the same media people mentioned earlier, that Republicans better nominate Mitt Romney, not so affectionately known here as Mitty the Poo, or “all is lost”. What a line of crap; but out trots John McCain to endorse Mitty. “He lost to me last time so it is his turn for the limelight”. “Mitty is my ‘Jimmy Carter’ moment”. “Thanks, Mitty”. “He will lose worse than I did and I will be off the hook as the worst candidate ever”.

Now, back to “I Got’s SomeTalent”. In the meanwhile politicians are busy tightening controls on internet information. We saw what they did to the TV broadcasts a few months back. They haven’t quite managed to totally control the internet yet but they are very close, watch for March 8th. Those intent on taking total control of everything in America are dependant that citizens continue to be enamored with the latest cutsey talent show while they destroy your very way of life.

Are you aware of how society used to be in Cuba, pre-Castro? Not the way it is portrayed in the media, but the REAL society of Cuba. There were rich, there were poor, and there was the middle class. After Che Guevara and Fidel Castro were finished there were only very rich and very poor. The ultra wealthy paid Castro for protection, or left the island. Those without the assets to pick up and move to America had everything they owned taken by the government. Homeowners were pushed out of their homes and business owners were pushed out of their businesses by bureaucrats. Those who worked to earn the wages for a decent income were forced to become slaves because the “benevolent rulers” decided that poverty was a good lifestyle, it was equal for everyone. Of course, that “everyone” didn’t include the Castro brothers and their friends.

Ladies and Gentlemen of America, you are being played for suckers by people with evil intent. Once you have frittered all of your rights away you will be cannon fodder for tyrants. These tyrants are in both political parties. When “I Got’s Talent” is no longer needed to distract you it will go away and you will be left with a situation you really don’t want. But by then it will be too late to do anything about it, the barn door will have been shut, the trap door will have come down.

We don’t have to fall for this and lose the republic our founding fathers forged with their courage and their blood. There is time, there are solutions but it is up to We the People to implement those solutions. I have some thoughts, Next!!!!!

The Swindlers: How Four Vain Philosophies Threaten American Liberty.

This is a brief study of the religious, and philosophical weapons that Post-modern Democrats, are using against the chief cornerstone of liberty—the Christian worldview. Their goal is simple—marginalize Christianity, and thus liberty, and replace our great heritage with a forgery—Secular Humanism. My purpose is to point out the philosophical  weapons that Progressive/Post-modern-Democrats are using in our culture, and encourage conservatives to engage our fellow Americans with a reasoned argument.

Please note: the terms Progressive, Post-modern, and Humanism are used somewhat interchangeably. Although there are differences in their meaning, their arguments against conservatives are similar. My goal is also to reach out to both Independents, and Democrats to disengage from the Democrat party rhetoric—which is nothing more then a swindler’s list of false slogans. I know this to be true because I use to be one of them. I have since become an Independent and staunch Christian conservative.

I want to make a brief distinction between the traditional Blue-dog Democrats, and the Progressives/Post-moderns. Blue-dog Democrats believed in the same values as our Founders did—that our liberties come from God, and not too much government intervention. This is not what the Progressive/Post-modern-Democrat believes today—they are hostile to this concept. I point this out because  both my Father and Grandfather were hard working Blue-dogs. Our enemy here is not the people—it’s their vain ideologies.

Sadly, many of the traditional working-class Blue-dogs, still to this day, are not aware of the skullduggery committed in the hijacking of their party. Therefore, because of their innocent oblivion   it concerns me that president Barack Obama may be re-elected. If the Democrat party wins back the House—the Founding Fathers doomsday prophecy of America falling under a tyrannical government could well be fulfilled. Remember, half the battle in any fight is knowing your opponent, the other half is knowing their strategy.  Our opponents are the Progressive Democrats, the enemy is their ideas–So lets get busy.

 

The four weapons of the Post-modern-Progressive Democrat–a brief history.

It was Alexis de Tocqueville who said, “The Americans who combine the notions of religion and liberty so intimately in their minds that it is impossible to make them conceive of one without the other.” Sadly this statement by the French philosopher is no longer true. The religion he was referring to was Christianity.

50 years ago in 1962-(63), Christianity—the chief cornerstone of American Exceptionalism, and vanguard of liberty was removed from public education. It’s replacement was a deceptive religion, a philosophy of supposed moral neutrality called Secular Humanism. Born from the words of the Dragon of Eden, and proffered during the Enlightenment period, this was the religion of man as the center of all things—a breeding ground for government largess—and that was the plan. This would be the primary weapon for Progressive Democrats in which all vanity would build upon.

To further popularize Humanism—the new vanguard of our republic, three vain philosophies: Naturalism, Moral Relativism, and Religious Pluralism would form a rather unholy, but complementary alliance with Secularism in the pilfering of American values. This would not only challenge the Biblical worldview, but Natural law, and The Correspondence theory of truth, and indeed it was successful. In spite of all the circular reasoning, and contradictions these vain ideologies brought forth—America seemed bewitched by these charming tales.

Traditionally it was always understood that true propositions corresponded to reality—to which the Biblical worldview exclusively fit. The Post-modern rejection of Natural law, and Aristotelian logic sent a shock-wave through the fabric of our culture; setting us back academically, and socially from prior years with some ugly metrics such as: lower SAT scores, an increase in crime, personal debt, teen-pregnancies, divorce, and a host of other moral calamities. Here are some disturbing graphs.

Not dissuaded by the moral and academic decline, the Progressive-Democrat swindle continued. The strategy was simple: marginalize the Biblical worldview in all facets of American culture, so that in time our nation would cycle through a new generation of like-minded professional Progressive-Humanists. Influential positions such as: teachers, professors, media moguls, judges, even theologians, and of course politicians, would capitulate to this atheistic way of thinking. Big government would be the “God” of their lives.

This cultural confusion that we are currently witnessing is somewhat reminiscent of the Marxist-Leninist Communist takeover in Russian 1917. Aside from whipping up the working class, and union infiltration, another similarity was being played out at our universities since the early 20th century,  the theory of Naturalism.  The belief that man came from natural organic evolution, as opposed to super-natural means. This would be the second weapon in the Progressive-Democrat playbook, borrowing from the Humanist playbook.

The intellectual offspring of Naturalism was Evolution. The theory goes as follows; that life evolved from the simple to the complex via Natural Selection, Mutation, and Genetic-Drift. Personally, I think Darwin should take a back seat in the classroom. Achieving life from non-life has never been witnessed. The theory seems contradictory on it’s face— something from nothing—simple to complex…considering a greater agency would be needed, and where are the fossils of these transitional forms ?

Weapon number three is a simple deduction–if man was not created, then definitions of right and wrong are not absolute. In fact they were relative to the person, or culture. This is called Moral Relativism: a belief that universal truth, in a absolute objective way does not exist. Think about that for a moment…if truth is just a preference, like ice-cream flavors, then for certain, Moral Relativists would find the Christian witness of Jesus only, an a aggressive and false belief. Moral Relativism in summation, is self-refuting.

However, considering America has become a great melting pot of varied worldviews and religions, thanks to the graciousness of our Christian heritage, Secular Humanist’s could not afford to simply force people to drop their worldviews. They did something much more ingenious. The fourth weapon deployed would be philosophy of Religious Pluralism.

This charming sophistry would create the false impression that all religions are equally valid, hence true in the classic meaning,  irrespective of their contradictory truth claims. This is also a classic Post-modern-Democrat slogan as well. An easy example to understand this if I may. Imagine you are trying to find the capital of our nation, Washington, D.C., and you ask for directions, and you hear the following… “it doesn’t matter what highway you take, they are all equally valid!” Folks it doesn’t get much sillier then this.

Finally, these four philosophical weapons have effectively obfuscated our cultural values of thrift, hard work, and the belief in universal truth;  and more then anything—hope. Perhaps a word of wisdom from Aristotle would be apropos. In book 12 of Meta-Physics he says, “ That there must be an immortal, unchanging being, ultimately responsible for all the wholeness and orderliness in the sensible world, and we are able to discover a good deal about this being.”  For a man who lived a few centuries before Christ, he was able to see the footprint of God through creation and logic.

Folks our worldviews matter. Our moral positions either add to civility or subtract from it. Some worldviews do not make sense in the world we live in. Think it through and vote sensibly.
