LOL Tuesday – Demand a Plan Parody

house of sunnyIt’s LOL Tuesday…the day of the week I’ve decided everyone needs to laugh out loud. Mondays aren’t for laughing, they’re for cursing the sun and overdosing on coffee. Wednesday is already officially Hump Day and Thursday has the pleasurable distinction of being the day before Friday so it’s almost like Friday but not quite. Friday, Saturday and Sunday – well, they’re the weekend! Their importance in our culture will never be superseded. But Tuesday’s are just…there. Tuesday needs a “thing”. So it’s LOL Tuesday, mmmkay?

I’ve got a good one for you today. Comedianne/actress Sunny Lohmann (Houseofsunny.tv) offers us her take on the latest celebrity PSA regarding bad, bad guns. America loves celebrity PSA’s because they make us feel like we actually care about problems. They don’t actually have to do anything, all they have to do is look concerned, speak softly and America will KNOW that THEY – the most important, influential people in the country- CARE. And they are willing to….talk…about…how much they care. See how much they care???? They even shot it in black and white, just so you’ll know they are SERIOUS!

Please to enjoy Sunny’s take on the celebrity PSA. LOL!

The Real Question For Matt Damon, Jon Lovitz , and Ariana Huffington

Oh, how the mighty have fallen!

In the 2008, America elected “the biggest celebrity in the world“, Barack Obama. Oh yes, America, we got “one cool president!” However, that “cool” seems to be wearing off- even in Hollywood!

First, one of Obama’s strongest supporters in 2008 has now retracted his support of President Cool!  Matt Damon is quite disappointed in Obama, and, in a very strange turn of events, even complimented President George W. Bush for his progress on various AIDS initiatives. He went so far as to say he could kiss Dubya!

Then there’s the now famous rant from comedian Jon Lovitz, for which he is now being accused of threatening Obama. In a report from The Blaze, Jon Lovitz made an appearance on the Dr. Drew Pinsky show, Mr. Lovitz said of Obama:

“…he’s creating a class warfare in a country where there is no class structure. Anybody can go from being broke to being wealthy.”

In Mr. Lovitiz original tirade that sets the stage for the accusation from Dr. Pinsky, the comedian said:

“…I voted for the guy and I’m a Democrat.”

Finally, there is Ariana Huffington, co-founder of The Huffington Post. On Monday, Ms. Huffington made an appearance on CBS “This Morning”, where she said the “spiking the football” ad put out by the Obama campaign, which politicizes Osama bin Laden’s death, “is one of the most despicable things you can do.”

Many Americans who voted for Obama in the 2008 election have said they will not vote for him again. Now, celebrities are disappointed in President Cool.

So now the real question for Mr. Damon, Mr. Lovitz and Ms. Huffington is this:

Will you vote for Barack Obama in 2012? Or will you dare to cross over the “political line” and vote for Mitt Romney? Or will you simply stay home and not vote?

Michael Jordan's 'Hitler' Mustache

I thought I might be the only one to have noticed this; alas, in today’s interconnected world someone else had not only noticed it but posted it with a helpful little circle and sound effect.

Now I truly enjoyed watching Jordan’s basketball career (except when he was demolishing the Lakers) and what he’s done afterward has been fairly remarkable as well, but perhaps someone could have approached him to discuss the diabolical historical reference his shaving habits would call up.

I’ll confess here and now to having shaved my facial hair into that pattern just so that I could look into the mirror and see how truly stupid it looked and then finish the job of cleaning my upper lip. Leaving my shower looking like that, and even more amazingly, appearing in a National Television Commercial for Hane’s Underwear looking like that would NEVER occur to me.

I’m amazed that no one at Hane’s had the presence of mind to say something.  It’s not easy to correct someone who is more powerful & influential than you, but someone should have stepped up because it’s just stupid and tasteless.
