UPDATE: Fox pulls “Family Guy” episode following Boston bombings

Fox television on Tuesday pulled a recent episode of animated series “Family Guy” from television and Internet sites after unrelated clips that were edited together to depict a bombing at the Boston Marathon went viral on the Web.

“Family Guy” creator Seth MacFarlane slammed the mash-up as “abhorrent.” It appeared a day after two bombs ripped through the crowd at the finish line of the Boston Marathon, killing three people and wounding 176.

** After posting this, I found that Alex Jones has said this is proof that the Boston Massacre was a “False Flag”. I will leave the interpretation to the viewer individually, but would like to speak for myself, as the one who posted this on CDN. I do not believe this Family Guy episode proves a “False Flag”. The facts may prove me wrong, but I believe it is another terrorist attack by a Muslim Extremist. I do, however, find this very eerie. Life imitating art, if you will. But there are plenty of things that happen every day that are eerie. I had a “strange dream” last night, that quite honestly has left me with an “eerie” feeling all day today. I won’t go into the “gory” details here, but it has given me a strange, eerie feeling of “deja vu”. Just as with my dream, I believe this episode is simply an eerie occurrence.  But, since we are addressing this, I believe that we have become too complacent in society with the “cartoons” of today. But this is just my humble opinion.

** Second update: After reading yet another article, it seems that the entire video has been edited. Since I do not watch the show, all I can do is rely on the reports I read. If there are some “Family Guy” fans out there, I would love to get your input. If indeed Alex Jones did edit this clip, that proves what kind of a person he really is!

It also appears that YouTube has removed one posting of the video, so I am sure it will not be long before this one is gone as well.

Season 11 Episode 16 | Aired on 03/17/2013

An episode of Family Guy, which was first aired less than a month ago, eerily predicted the Boston Marathon bombings, depicting the main character, Peter, detonating two bombs in addition to winning the marathon by killing the rest of the participants. It is important to note that the video shows two clips from different points of the show edited together, but they are from the same episode.

Even Today Mr. Rogers Offers Comfort

Fred_Rogers_White_House

Fred_Rogers_White_HouseThe tragedy in Boston is horrific. The raw images and video graphic. The city, and the country, filled with pain as we hear reports of death and scores severely wounded. We pray for the families and for the survivors.

In our grief, one calming voice returned to offer comfort. Fred Rogers, famed neighborhood friend from PBS often talked to children about dealing with challenges. His quote below was posted and went viral on the social media yesterday afternoon.

“When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, ‘Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.’ To this day, especially in times of ‘disaster,’ I remember my mother’s words, and I am always comforted by realizing that there are still so many helpers–so many caring people in this world.”

Mr. Rogers, your mom was right. I saw it, did you? Did you see the soldier who, having just finished the race, ran back to help the wounded? Did you see the cowboy who quickly applied a tourniquet to a severely wounded man? Did you see the police and firefighters running toward the injured, even after the second bomb was detonated?

It is still a terrible tragedy but in the midst of it all we are reminded that there are more caring and helpful people than there are evil. And though he’s been gone for many years we still appreciate the wisdom of Mr. Rogers.

Mass General Medical Staff: Bombs had metallic fragments

In a press briefing on Tuesday morning, Massachusetts general medical staff discussed the condition of patients being treated after two bombs exploded near the finish line of Monday’s Boston Marathon.

So far, physicians have performed four amputations and two more limbs are at risk of having to be removed. Stating that the amputations that have been performed were almost complete traumatic amputations and that surgeons just finished “what the bomb had already done.”

Almost all of the injuries were to the lower extremities which resulted in massive blood loss.

Doctor relayed that they had removed numerous “metallic fragments” from the victims. The fragments were said to be sharp metal and ball bearings, but the medical staff were unable to say how many came from the bomb or were items in the environment. The lead surgeon said that his opinion was that “most of them came from the bomb.”

The majority of patients in the intensive care unit are still breathing with the help of intubation and respiratory apparatus which precludes interview of the most seriously injured.

While expressing a sense of pride over the reaction by medical staff and their ability to limit the loss of life and limb, one of the physicians in the presser stated that “It’s an extremely sad day for all of us.”

Explosions at Boston Marathon

Boston Marathon explosions

News reports tell of two blasts near the finish line of the Boston Marathon that have killed at least three people and injured dozens more.

Eye witnesses talk of victims with missing limbs and body parts strewn around the scene of what is reported to have been at least two explosions that fired in quick succession.

The Boston Globe tweeted that dozens of injuries resulted, some dismembered and other outlets are now reporting the death toll from the explosions to be at three.

Buildings around the finish line have been evacuated and bomb-sniffing dogs have been brought in to work the scene of the blasts.

The explosions occurred just before 3pm which was about 3 hours after the first runners had crossed the finish line.
